Bit of a shame I left hp before I entered svsss because one of my favourite tropes at the time was 'dumbledore calls in External Support from different fandom during ootp and they show up to grimmauld to help (and utterly upstage everyone in the process)'.

And needless to say Sqq, at any point, would have been perfect.

Like. He's a teacher too. A scholar. Secretly from the modern world so he'd have no trouble with its intricate and mysterious workings, incidentally making himself look very cool and competent in the process. He'd have So Many Opinions. He'd incite bloody war with umbridge. He'd project his feelings for sj onto Snape with a side of commiseration for his role and fate. He'd mostly pretend to know so much less about hp than he actually does (which, hilariously, he canonically name drops in svsss, AND his system is pretty heavily implied to have previously worked in, like wow). He'd be constantly comparing Harry with lbh. He'd have a running internal dialogue bemoaning the world building, the characters, Harry's fate, the general decision making process, maybe some death of the author. Geeking out about magic. Raiding the library whenever he's free.

He might bring his students as part of an exchange, he might bring a fellow peak lord if it was a serious mission (liushen anyone?) he could bring adult lbh. Maybe sqh? Or sqh could be the messenger with the system and/or mbj.

A self aware character who couldn't live with himself if he didn't at least try to change Harry's fate whether or not he actually likes the kid? He could canon that divergence before you could say horcrux. That kind, oblivious, smoking hot exotic teacher who had people ruining their lives for him in a world that was used to people that pretty and also hated him specifically?? The hogwarts students wouldn't stand a CHANCE.

Man the scenes are coming to me so strongly I almost want to write it just as a like. Satire piece or something. Just Sqq ripping everything to shreds, accidentally or not. Diatribes on the author biases. Unintentional themes. Iffy world building choices. Nothing new, but through the lens of svsss' Sqq it'd be something for sure XD.

Summer Games Fest 2024

Holy fuck if that shit wasn't putting me to sleep and it wasn't even because it started at 11pm over here. No offence to those devs and all but most of the stuff was Boring with capital b. Audience either didn't care bout most things showcased or was just asleep too cause that was just sad. My 5 cents that no one asked about since i fell asleep right after + gonna link trailers from IGN.

Last night I had a dream that I went to the Super Bowl (I have negative interest in football fyi) but it was the Barbies vs. the Kens (obviously I was in pink and cheering for the correct team.)

Forget Hogwarts Legacy, I'm gonna go diving through my dusty-ass PS2 game collection and pull out the ORIGINAL Harry Potter trilogy because those were the shit. They still followed the books, sure, but they ALSO said "fuck canon" and I loved it. You'd run into random ass students living on the roof who wanna trade frog cards. (How long were they UP there? They never MOVED.) There would be ghosts and ghouls and evil attack books protecting the library at night. Fred and George had a secret black-market shop that was only open after curfew and used jelly beans as currency. Your teachers sent you on a fckn death quests during class, like who the hell allowed THAT in a school? And what did the REST of the students do while you were off hunting down the one (1) spellbook that could unlock that spell for you? Were they just - chilling, waiting for you to come back? Who sanctioned this?

And don't even get me STARTED on the PS1 version of Sorcerer's Stone. Hagrid wants you to play The Floor Is LITERALLY Lava to get something for him? SURE! You've gotta sneak past literal colonies of trolls in the basement to get your last option ingredient? SOUNDS LEGIT! Peeves makes you chase him through the rafters at risk to your life just to get a stolen package back from him? WHY NOT! Entire WINGS of the castle are locked to you unless you give the Weasley twins 150 yellow jelly beans that you find hidden around the castle? YEAH OKAY! And wtf was up with that weird part of the castle where you had to like - unlock a door that was being protected by flying rainbow eyeballs?

I have no idea what the original HP games were on, but my god do I miss 'em. They're sitting on my shelf, no cost to me because I wasn't even the one to buy them, and you can bet your ass I'll be playing those the second I find the remotes for my PS2.
