as addition to @vulpiximisa​’s post I want to point out that the subtitles switched Otae’s and Tsukuyo’s messages (accidentally I hope)

SARUTOBI - Purple Square Box, top center

Both Sarutobi and Tsukuyo used the Kanji for “Kagura.”

As vulpiximisa pointed out, Otae captured Kagura’s tone and speaking style the best since they were the closest. Otae got Kagura’s habits down including writing her name in Hiragana. Otae even got Kagura’s penchant of putting a heart ♡ on the message. As an example  see below the choco kagura had made for tsukuyo to give. xD

^^Also notice that Tsukuyo copied what Kagura had ordered to be written on the former’s chocolate above. I also think that Sarutobi followed Kagura’s greeting card on the outside of the heart box for her own choco too.

I like to believe that Sarutobi’s and Tsukuyo are heartfelt (honmei) choco even though they were store bought and even if their messages were a copy (i think) of Kagura’s.

Another thing

Otae said that she was giving the dark matter chocolate out of “obligation” (giri choco) but hers is most definitely “truth choco” (honmei choco) because it’s obviously made by her (only she could make dark matter chocolate)!! Home-made and Store-bought is traditionally what sets honmei choco apart from the obligatory (giri)  ones.

Though now I’m wondering if she also gave black matter to Kagura at the start of the chapter. I’m saying this because Otae had bought store-made giri choco for the club patrons at the opening of episode/chapter, meanwhile Yorozuya family got the black matter XD. I am betting that after teaching Kagura about Valentines, Otae had been at home trying to make chocolate by herself the whole day for them. OH OTAE.

also.. ahhh. The anime didn’t adapt Kagura destroying an entire line of valechoco shoppers so that Otae can get in line first :(

Happy Summer Valentine 2018

okay guys let me tell you what happened in the past 48 hours

1. Ryoma won valechoco 2018  (for the first time in history)

2. total number of chocolate reached 400,000++ (more than double of last year!! and more than any of the years before)

(1) (2) the big warehouse last year still wasn’t enough to hold all the chocolate.

**: valechoco 2018 top 3 winners total chocolate count is already 154,200. 2017 total choco was just around 180,000

** atobe still holds record for most chocolate in 2014 at 63k (BUT STILL)

3. atobe’s fans cryng because they sent expensive chocolate, so they vow to send more next year (x)

4. There’s gonna be a BIG seigaku-hyotei seiyuu event on January 19-20, 2019 for Best Games at Zepp Diver City. (x) it’s like a tenifesta of sorts.

5. The BEST GAMES OVA’s will be based on the manga. (oh yeah)

Konomi ranked 47th in a poll for most ideal fictional husbands, atobe kingdom is collaborating with a brand that mostly produces dresses, shiraishi is leader of 47 ronin, ryoma is holding 2 guns. we cant vote for steve in the popularity poll that replaced valechoco. New Prince of Tennis - Chapter 58

Not much interesting here. Just laughing at the “Stop trying to dramatise the match with your cheap acting” line. A classic!

This volume includes the valechoco results for 2011 (oh god, this is so old already!). Here’s how my favourites did:

2. Echizen. Go wonder boy! 5. Sanada. Nice, people have good taste. 10. Shuusuke. Rare to see him this low. Refreshing. 15. Shiraishi. Well done! 19. Chitose. Especially well done! 23. Niou. Thought he would be higher already. 25. Yagyuu. Still this high. <3 27. Kaidou. Good result for him. 28. Tezuka. How is he this low? 46. Yuuta. Give him all the choco, he will love it. 56. Kin-chan. What is this result? 59. Tachibana. I can’t believe this.

That was volume 6.

Best in this volume: plant room trio + Yuuta, Sanada’s body, Sanada and Echizen hanging together, Echizen and Tokugawa being professional, new Shitenhouji boys, Akuto’s debut.

Mixed feelings: Akuto and Renji match.

Worst in this volume: Ooishi/Niou combination and synchro, illusion, generally most of the tennis not to my taste, Kyuushuu senpai getting crushed to the point of needing CPR.

All in all not a very good volume for me. But oh well.

Happy Summer Valentine Event 8-12-18  (x)

this is the video where Konomi Takeshi is awarded the certificate by the Japan Anniversary Association making Aug 14 an official Holiday as Happy Summer Valentine Day. The people who attended the Sendai event were made to promise not to leak the info on social media until the official announcement on twitter/news was made on Aug 14, 2018.

JP tenipuri fans kept their promise to be quiet about it.

Amane Hikaru ranked no.1 in most valentine chocolates received in 2017. The top 50 winners of valechoco got their own character badges in full color art by Takeshi Konomi. 

Then in a bizarre turn of events, Konomi Takeshi & Co. turned the Valechoco Top 50 Character Badges into a surprise ranking contest! :DDDDDD

The results were Announced during Konomi Takeshi’s Talkshow last December 24, 2017
