For the character meme, Kaneda for PoT and Sugawara for Haikyuu. :3
KANEDA ICHIROU
How I feel about this character
Just think. Poor boy just want to play tennis and have fun and he has to listen all Mizuki’s neverending tactics and strategies and he’s too shy and kind to call him out for bullshit - and also he respects his dumb seniors he’s a good kouhai. He gets to play in a match and has to pair up with his captain who complains all the time because he feels like downgraded in doubles and he didn’t even tell him that it’s his brain that’s downgraded because respect, you know.Like if they won against the Golden Pair we have to thank him right? I mean, they won against the Golden Pair. The boy’s clearly underrated.Mizuki goes all around scouting a player here and a player there and then when he actually has good players like Kaneda and Akazawa that are very good respectively in singles and doubles he goes like ‘okay you two play the doubles who even care about doubles lol’ The disrespect.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Well, not really anyone sorry??
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Definitely Yuuta here. I mean they’re the only second years in the team and I feel like they can get along well - Yuuta will need some ally in the team to cope with their senpai’s bullshit.Annd of course next generation will see Kaneda and Yuuta leading St.Rudolph and you know I can clearly see St.Rudolph and Fudoumine kickin’ butts all around.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I think he’s a little bitter with all the “transfer students entering the team” thing? I mean, he looks like a nice and hardworking guy, probably choose the Junior High because he enjoyed being part of a strong tennis team and then sees his teammates kicked out from the regulars because other student were rectruited from other schools? I don’t think he’s bitter to them personally, but I don’t think he’s really okay with the whole thing.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Probably seeing him play again? This time with a proper doubles partner maybe.
SUGAWARA KOUSHI
Okay let me begin because this will be long.
How I feel about this character
Just a premise, if you think I’m easily touched by the ‘third year who gets replaced by younger student” trope you’re very well damn right.Suga is basically the first character I fell in love with reading Haikyuu!! because that’s really a trope that hits me hard.
Of course it’s the first thing that defines him, his love for Karasuno and his determination to be part of the team even if he doesn’t get to play in matches. But I don’t think he’s even that in love with volleyball itself, I think he’s more in love with the team because of the people, because of the feeling that’s being part of a team, the feeling of working together towards a common goal. He’s the one that everyone’d expect to quit after they lost in the Interhigh because what’s really the point of staying in the team, it wasn’t like he had a real chance to play in matches anyway - or getting a College scolarship for sports, as if it’s the only thing that matters. And yet he stayed because for him being part of the team was more important that actually play volleyball and that’s a lot. Not to be spoilerish but that scene in the latest chapters of the Kamomedai match in which he says that it’s Yamaguchi that should be summoned him says a lot about him. I think it comes after a loong way of coping with bitter feelings at the beginning. He’s not a sweet angel. He saw his spot stolen by a kid who has just came out of nowhere and he could never being mean to him but I don’t think he loved him either at the beginning. He’s kind, not pure. But day after day, match after match, I think he understood that the court was Kageyama’s territory, not his. He doesn’t have a killer instinct. He couldn’t really cope with all that pressure the same way. He loves to be part of the team, but the more people he met from top teams in the country, the more he understood that you have to be thirsty to step on the court and claim your place and that’s just not him??? He had never competed at that level before so he didn’t know how it was and realized it was far than how he had imagined it and realized he’s not meant to be part of it. That’s why he make his brain function and he tries to come up with good strategies but there are many many players that are better than him with that too, and can also read the game better than he does. And I also believe he felt bad for that at the beginning and thought himself as weak and still does a little probably. But he’s very good at hiding it and converting it in support for his team; he wanted to really feel part of it, he wanted to feel “useful”, even if the word sounds harsh. But I don’t think he regretted a single second.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Okay I don’t even mention Daisuga because I think almost everyone in this fandom ships Daisuga and it’s like one of the pillars of the fandom since forever and everything has already been said about them.Let me speak about SugaKiyo because I think it’s one of the sweetest ships and also it’s basically canon?I love how he looks at Noya and Tanaka like a dumb kids when they fangirl about her and just have her touch his hand once and becomes an even dumber fanboy than both of them could ever be??? Cute as hell. And also she looks like she’s cold but she’s just shy but in the manga she’s caught multiple times staring at him when he doesn’t look so don’t come at me but it’s 100% canon lads. And 100% she’ll be the one confessing in the end because he doesn’t have the guts I can bet money on that.
My non-romantic OTP for this characters
I have a thing for OiSuga friendship I don’t know if it comes from fanfiction or from my own writing or probably both. I just think they could get along very well outside the court, Oikawa doesn’t have an easy attitude to cope with sometimes, and also Suga he’s not the sweet angel he may looks like, and Oikawa he’s probably a better person than his on-court behaviour shows, and I could easily see them sharing an apartment in a College AU and coping with each other shit all the time and getting turns to be the Drama Queen of the house that’s the thing.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Oooh, here we go. I don’t like the SugaMama trope at all. At all. Or better, the ‘Daisuga in an established relationship who are parents to a bunch of kids trope’.I don’t see him as feeling that ‘responsible’ of his kouhai’s behaviour or keeping them in lines and I think he’s mostly the one who would encourage them instead outside the role of Vice-Captain he has during practice. He has a kind personality and he looks quite mature but I don’t think he’s that mature??? I often see fanart and headcanons in which he gives romantic advice to the others and he’s like so smooth and we’re still speaking about the one who forgets how words work when his crush touches his hand really. Also for Daichi it’s the same, they’re Captain and Vice-Captain so they have to be ‘responsible’ for the team somehow but they’re the very same age and are equally immature in many things they do and I don’t like when they’re portrayed as more mature than they are - also because all the other team members are far to be as immature as they’re often portrayed.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I would’ve like to see more about how he coped with his “replacement” with Kageyama at the beginning; we’ve been showed only the good feelings; I would’ve wanted to see the bad ones too. I still believe Suga’s one of the most complex characters of this show and I feel like his character development went quite under the radar compared to others’.
#nuisancehelicopter#replies#answered#did I ramble I definitely did#also hope I didn't offend anyone#I have a lot of feelings for Suga after the latest chapters lol#instead I had to google Kaneda I bet Konomi would need it too if he's asked to#I can see Konomi with the smudged writing on hand meme when it comes to St Rudolph members#'yes I love all of them Mizuki Yuuta and... Accesorize'#kaneda ichirou#sugawara koushi#tenipuri#haikyuu!!#headcanon

❦ This Is How I Feel (Kuranosuke Shiraishi) Relieved
📑 Table of Contents
Genre: Fluff, Slice of Life
Word Count: 1,003
Pairing: Reader x Shiraishi
World: Prince of Tennis
━━━━━━༻ ❦ ༺━━━━━━
Shiraishi watched as his partner finished packing a small backpack. You had gathered together some clothes, personal items, and things you just couldn’t survive without, managing to fit them all into the large green bag. His eyes followed you as you moved around the room, watching every move you made like a cat watching a bird through a pane of glass. He wasn’t worried that you were going away for a while, but he was worried that you wouldn’t come back to him.
What if you found yourself happier there with your cousin than you were there with him? Would you stay? Would your relationship end?
“How long will you be gone?” he questioned, speaking for the first time since he arrived early that morning.
You shrugged, setting the bag by the bedroom door. “Shouldn’t be any more than a week.”
He nodded, looking away from you.
A week. An entire week. Maybe even more.
You smiled, walking over and pecking his cheek. “It’ll fly by, I’m sure. And you know you can call or text me whenever.”
He nodded again, a small smile slipping onto his lips. He snaked his arms around your waist, pulling you into a tight hug. “I know. I’m going to miss you.”
“I’ll miss you, too, Kuranosuke.”
━━━━━━༻ ❦ ༺━━━━━━
Three days had passed since you left Osaka.
You were in Tokyo now, staying with your cousin who attended St. Rudolph Gakuen. Shiraishi wasn’t clingy by far, and it wasn’t that he didn’t trust you… Maybe he was just being dramatic. Either way, the days passed by like years, and time seemed to drag by slowly.
It was the fourth day and Shiraishi was with the rest of the Shitenhouji tennis team. School had ended, and the boys were currently attending afternoon practice, but their captain’s mind was only half there. A few rumors from nearby fangirls were all it took to bring his full attention to the court.
“Y/N-senpai left, right?”
“Yeah. They went to Tokyo.”
“Tokyo? What for?”
“You didn’t know? They went to visit their ex-boyfriend!”
Kuranosuke’s eyes widened in shock.
Ex-boyfriend? It was the first time he had heard anything about that! If you kept the fact that you had a previous relationship from him, what else were you keeping from him? Did you just use your cousin as an excuse to visit your ex?
Kenya, who had also heard the gossip, glanced at his captain. “If Y/N’s with their ex, you know they’re probably cheating on you, right?”
He shook his head. “No. Y/N wouldn’t do that.”
“They may not be for it to begin with, but what if he puts the moves on them? He was their first boyfriend, their first love. You know Y/N still has to love him~”
“No,” he shook his head again, eyes snapped shut. He knew Kenya was probably right, but he couldn’t, he wouldn’t admit it. He loved you far too much to bear the thought of you cheating on him. “I’m going to Tokyo.”
I’ll go with you!”
━━━━━━༻ ❦ ༺━━━━━━
You glanced at your cousin before looking at Mizuki, an eyebrow raised in a ‘what the hell is wrong with him?’ expression on your face. How did St. Rudolph put up with this maniacal monkey? You had been there less than a week and he was already driving you insane!
Your cousin, Ichirou Kaneda, simply shrugged. He had gotten used to the crazy way Mizuki did things and it really didn’t affect him anymore – or anyone else on the team, for that matter. How you could get used to… that, you’d never be able to understand.
The group, consisting of Kaneda, Mizuki, Shinya, Yuuta, and yourself, was at the street tennis courts, just hanging out and catching up – a week was hardly enough time to talk about everything that’s happened in almost two years. They knew Gyokurin and Fudomine tended to play there, but they didn’t expect Hyotei Gakuen to appear. Afterall, Atobe had said on more than one occasion that they were ‘too good’ to play there.
Your eye caught the brunette’s and you grinned, pushing yourself up and walking over to him. “Been a while, Shishido.”
“Y/N,” he grinned back. “What are you doing in Tokyo?”
“Came to visit my cousin,” you motioned with your thumb over your shoulder and Ryo leaned to the side to see Kaneda, who waved sheepishly. “I’m going back to Osaka in two days, though.”
He nodded in understanding, offering you a rare smile and stuffing his hands into the pockets of his shorts. “I’m glad I got to see you before you left. It’s been… damn, a long time!” he laughed, readjusting his blue cap.
You chuckled. “Not much has changed, huh?”
“Not really,” he shrugged. “I heard you got a boyfriend. A student at Shitenhouji, right?”
“Yep. Shiraishi Kuranosuke, he’s the captain of their tennis team,” you smiled proudly, feeling your heart flutter as you thought about him.
Ryo raised an eyebrow, a sly smirk taking over his lips. “You love ’em, huh?”
“W-What? No! I mean… yes, no… Ugh!”
He laughed, clutching his stomach as he started to laugh loudly.
You scowled, hitting his arm playfully. “Shut up, idiot.”
“I never thought I’d see the day,” he shook his head, smiling. “You’re head over heels.”
“Che. Am not.”
“Are so.”
“Am not.”
“Are.”
“Not!”
“What are the two of you arguing about?” Choutarou, Ryo’s best friend and doubles partner, walked up to the pair, cocking his head to the side curiously. You both stopped, sparing him a glance before continuing to argue.
Meanwhile, Oshitari Kenya and Shiraishi Kuranosuke were hiding behind the trees, watching the scene unfold. Shiraishi fell back against the tree, his cheeks reddening as he covered his mouth with his hand. Even after dating for nearly a year, the two of you had never shared the word love between you.
He couldn’t find words to describe how relieved he felt to know your true feelings and, more importantly, to know that you weren’t cheating on him.

the final family picture with the Seidou alumni
because of the 30-tag limit, I could only tag the starters of each grade + Rei, managers, Director, and Coach because they rarely get tagged
but because I like to show off, I'll list down everyone here~
top row, from L-R: Fujiwara Takako, Masuko Tooru, Miyauchi Keisuke, Tanba Kouichirou, Isashiki Jun, Yuuki Tetsuya, Kominato Ryousuke (wondered how he towered over the others then noticed they are standing on a platform), Takigawa Chris Yuu, Kadota Masaaki, Kusunoki Fumiya, Endou Naoki, and Sakai Ichirou
second row, L-R: Takashima Rei, Yamazaki Kunio, Yamaguchi Ken, Asou Takeru, Maezono Kenta, Miyuki Kazuya, Nakata Ataru, Kuramochi Youichi, Higasa Shouji, Shirasu Kenjirou, Ono Hiroshi, Kawakami Norifumi, Kawashima Kengo, Director Oota Kazuyoshi, Seki Naomichi, and Coach Kataoka Tesshin
last row, L-R: Umemoto Sachiko, Natsukawa Yui, Yoshikawa Haruno, Kaneda Takahiro, Furuya Satoru, Sawamura Eijun, Kominato Haruichi, Kanemaru Shinji, Toujou Hideaki, and Kijima Rei.

earlier in the match,
Akazawa’s gamble on Kikumaru paid off as the trap he set had become very effective. Combined with Kaneda’s natural tennis knowledge and skills, most of Mizuki’s predictions came true.
Congratulations to Akazawa & Kaneda Pair (2002).
