Man! Thinking about the potential Tachibana v. Tezuka match in the District Tournament finals if Fudomine v. Seigaku had got to S1 — I think that Tachibana would have probably been the victor?
By the time we get to Ep. 35, Tachibana has already been hyped up a lot (and, honestly, this rewatch has highlighted that Konomi-sensei's storytelling can be so stunning: the amount of foreshadowing where Tachibana is concerned is amazing). Inui looks at Tachibana at the end of Districts and says that he'll have to look into him since the name is familiar. A few episodes later, Sengoku starts when he hears the name 'Tachibana'. Then, Akazawa has a ! moment when he sees Tachibana's face and recalls that he played at last year's Nationals. Finally, Atobe is shocked when he sees Tachibana, calling him "one of the two strongest players in Kyushuu".
(And Tachibana destroys poor Shishido in elss than 15 minutes... how painful, lol)
Someone then produces a picture of blond!Tachibana from nowhere (either Inui or Inoue) and says that he didn't recognise him since his hair was different. Wow.
I feel like Tachibana'd strength gets overshadowed a lot in favour of some of the other captains (Tezuka, Yukimura, Atobe and Shiraishi) but it's definitely worth remembering that he is a Tough Cookie who had the respect of many esteemed players.
#the prince of tennis#tenipuri anime#tachibana kippei#atobe has a definite !!! moment when he sees tachibana in the manga#but this is a lot less pronounced in the anime lol

🐇 Easter Bunnies (Masaharu Niou)
Genre: Fluff, Romance, Comedy, Easter
Word Count: 1,054
Pairing: Reader x Niou
World: Prince of Tennis
Table of Contents
━━━━━━༻🐇༺━━━━━━
Your eyes sparkled as you stared at the bunny rabbits hopping around in their cages. It was a pet shot that specialized in small, furry animals – rabbits, hamsters, chinchillas, and other small critters. It was easily your biggest weakness. They’re just so cute and adorable, you want to bring them all into your arms and hug them.
Niou followed you quietly as you walked around the shop, looking for the ‘perfect’ rabbit – Atobe had made it quite clear that it needed to be the perfect one for the Easter festival, whatever that meant.
You glanced to the right and froze, meeting the eyes of a rather large rabbit with bright blue eyes. His fur was black and white, striped like a tiger’s fur. You had never seen such a beautiful creature in your life. You approached his cage, never losing eye contact. He seemed to… speak to you and you knew instantly that you had to have him.
Arms wrapped around your waist, Niou resting his chin on your shoulder as he looked at the rabbit curiously. “Never seen a rabbit like that before.”
“I know. Isn’t he gorgeous?!”
Niou smirked at your excitement. “You want this one, then?”
You nodded furiously, looking up at him with pleading eyes. Yukimura had entrusted both of you to find Atobe’s perfect rabbit for his festival, which meant that Niou had to agree, as well, before it could be bought.
“Hmm~ I dunno. I think we can find a better one.”
“Please, Niou!”
“Convince me.” His smirk grew, turning you around to face him.
You quickly caught on to the implication and smiled, grabbing his tie to pull him down to your level. Your lips crashed against one another, moving in perfect synch as if they had danced it a thousand times before. You pressed your body against his, tugging lightly on his bottom lip as you pulled away from the kiss.
“Pretty please, Niou-kun~?”
He pecked your lips, his smirk turning into a smile as he nodded. “Puri~”
“Yes!” You threw your fist into the air in victory as he approached the shopkeeper, informing the older man of your decision. Atobe had called ahead and authorized the payment to be billed to his card, so all you had to do was choose the items needed for the rabbit. “Hmm, a metal cage is probably best. If you eat the plastic, you’ll get sick.”
The rabbit, who you decided to name Tora due to its markings, cocked his head to the side at your words. You nearly squealed at how cute he looked.
Niou returned, grabbing your hand and threading his fingers with yours. “The shopkeeper said to let him know once we’ve picked everything out.”
“We should pick a cage first.” You dragged him to the other end of the shop where the cages were boxed and neatly stacked on shelves. “It needs to be metal.”
“What about this?” He pointed to the very first one his eyes found and you scowled.
“That’s way too small!”
He rubbed his chin in thought. “He’s gonna be staying with Atobe, right? So why not get him a castle?”
“I don’t think they make – ” your words died off when you followed his finger. Sure enough, a box nearly the same height as the room stood towering over the other boxes. A brilliant castle made of sterling silver decorated the box. According to the list of features, it even came with its own mote around the castle complete with a drawbridge. Your eye twitched as you stared at it. “That seems… a bit excessive…”
“Well, it is for Atobe and he is paying.”
“Yeah, but – ”
“Don’t you want little rabbit-chan to have the very best?” He grinned when you froze, knowing he had won. This was going to be great.
“You’re right! Our child needs the best we can provide!” You nodded with determination.
“Our child? When did that happen?” He raised a brow. “And we’re not technically the ones providing.”
You ignored him, already approaching the shopkeeper to let him know which cage you wanted. Niou sweatdropped as the man asked over and over if you were sure. It was hella expensive and he knew it wasn’t your money that was buying said expensive item. You scowled at him after he asked for the fifth time, slamming your hand on the counter.
“Atobe-san trusted us enough to come and pick out these items, did he not? Don’t question our decisions!”
The shopkeep quickly apologized and began adding up everything you wanted. Niou snickered at your attitude as you rushed back and forth, picking up rabbit food and toys and anything else that caught your eye. He leaned against you when you finished, waiting for the man to finish ringing up the items.
“Don’t you think that’s a bit too much?” He questioned, watching the pile of toys and treats steadily grow as they were rung up.
“Of course not! Like you said, the best for our baby.”
“It’s a rabbit…”
You scowled at him and he shrugged, pecking your cheek. You were so cute, he didn’t really mind you claiming the rabbit as your shared child. It’d be true one day, anyway.
Little did he know, Niou was the one forced to put the cage together. Never had he regretted his choices more than he did at that moment. He felt like walking away several times, Atobe could easily hire someone to do it, but every time he looked over at you, his will wavered. You had decided to help him, despite him telling you it wasn’t necessary, but you were just as floored and overwhelmed as he was.
You were frowning down at the instructions, your brow furrowed in concentration. You couldn’t make heads nor tails of the damn thing.
Niou chuckled, breaking your concentration. “You’re so cute when you’re frustrated,”
“Shut up.” You muttered, feeling your cheeks burn.
With new resolve, he pecked your cheek before returning to work. It took both of you nearly six hours to piece the cage together. All of the frustration was worth it in the end as you both viewed the masterpiece.
“I kinda wanna live there,” Niou commented.
“It’s bigger than my bedroom. And my living room… I’ve never been so jealous of a rabbit before…”
“Puri~”

HIii I'd like to ask for Headcanons about Married life with Sanada, Atobe, Tezuka and Yukimura Pretty pretty please 💕💕💕 I love your blog and your writing style 💕
(aaaaa thank you so much!!!! i hope you enjoy! :D)
Sanada
Has a strict waking up schedule for himself, but also will wake up early to watch his partner sleep for a bit before he begins to actually get ready for the day. Is usually the one to make breakfast because he’s not great with words, but with actions he flourishes, and if making delicious breakfasts is a way he can show his partner affection then dammit he’ll make them breakfast every day until he dies.
Even though he’s still firm with himself and is stern, he’s gotten softer over the years and is prone to just giving his partner soft face kisses when he’s hit with a rush of affection. In the morning, at night, in the afternoons, he’ll lean over and kiss them and will get flustered when they tease him.
The biggest sap of a husband to ever exist, even if he denies it. Can actually have witty conversations on sticky notes slapped onto the fridge? One of his favorite things honestly, even though he rolls his eyes when his partner smiles cheekily.
Has anniversary dates memorized (probably down to the minute) and never fails to do something for his partner, even if it’s just making a nice dinner and giving them a massage after the end of a long day.
Atobe
Schedules out biweekly dates with his partner a couple months at a time because he will spend as much personal time with them as possible no matter how busy he is.
Even though he seemingly has otherworldly powers of money and time at his control, Atobe as a married man has learned to take some things slow, like having a nice dinner with his partner, or pampering them himself with massages, scented candles and bubble baths.
Never yells at his partner, always makes sure both he and his s/o are calm before tackling an issue that’s prevalent. If he’s stressed or they’re stressed and more prone to lashing out, he will remove himself and calm down because he loves his s/o and doesn’t want to say hurtful things in the heat of the moment.
Speaking of which, he can tell when his partner is getting stressed. Whether it’s about family or work or anything in between, he coaxes them to take a break and pampers them extra. Spoils his partner when they’re down.
Tezuka
Very gentle husband, treats his s/o like they’re the most important person in the world to him, but is also mature enough to set his own boundaries. Makes plans with his partner and actually follows through. If they mention they wanted to try a restaurant in town? He’ll take them to it on a date.
Like Sanada, has as all anniversary dates memorized, equal parts wants to surprise his partner and also ask what they want because he doesn’t want them to feel like their needs aren’t being met.
If they make him breakfast and lunch, he does the dishes. It’s a very good system. Is very insistent on doing things to make the situation equal for them both, like the dish-food system, taking turns taking out the trash or other miscellaneous chores that take the stress off of him and his s/o.
Is the type of husband to send (somewhat blurry) pictures of random things throughout the day that remind him of them. It’s one of his most endearing traits because his partner knows he’s thinking of them.
Yukimura
If his s/o loves plants (which they likely do), then he will have a hundred plants in the house, takes turns with his s/o taking care of them. The plants are a way for him and his s/o to destress and share a hobby.
Loves surprising his partner whenever he can. Surprise kisses, surprise little gestures that let his s/o smile and keep a playful atmosphere around them.
Hates fighting with his s/o, does it as little as possible and I think he would be very good at pinpointing the issue and working out a solution with his s/o.
Impromptu date nights!! He’s a very soft husband most of the time, and wants to shower his partner with as much love as possible. Aims to make his partner feel like they’re in the honeymoon phase constantly, never wants them to feel like he’s too busy to spend time with them or that he’s too tired to be with them.

Tenipuri vs. Aliens
So back in September 2020, the official Tenipuri account tweeted about recruiting members for the Earth Representatives and will be posting more details in the 31st volume of New Prince of Tennis released on October 2, 2020.
In the image they posted, it said that this was a project found at the end of the volume, along with the words:
"We are aliens. We have come to take over the Earth. Come and play a tennis battle with us."
Sadly, I can't find a scan of the full pages about the project in Volume 31, but based on the tweets and snippets I've found, the staff basically recruited readers as coaches and asked them to draft a team of the strongest Earth representatives who would go against the "Galaxy Tennis Corps".
Atobe says the match will be held at his tennis court on the moon, while Coach Mifune feels all nostalgic because apparently, this reminds him of the time he was at the White Base/Trojan Horse (A fictional spaceship from the Mobile Suit Gundam series lol).
In New Prince of Tennis Volume 33, they finally posted which players would be in the U-17 Earth Representative Team based on the number of voter submissions of each singles player/doubles pair:
★ U-17 Earth Representative Team ★
Singles 3: Jürgen Borisovich Volk ("Because he looks like an alien!" "A definite winner!")
Doubles 2: Tezuka Kunimitsu & Atobe Keigo ("I want to see them play doubles together!" "Wipe out the aliens with meteors!")
Singles 2: Byoudouin Houou ("A reliable team member to have" "The captain has traveled all over the world should be good enough to take on the universe!")
Doubles 1: Yukimura Seiichi & Tokugawa Kazuya ("A valuable pair who can do a howling!")
Singles 1: Echizen Ryoma ("Singles 1 has to be Ryoma-kun!" "Doesn't seem like he'd be fazed by aliens")
Good luck explaining that to your new coach Tezuka😂
#prince of tennis#new prince of tennis#aliens#galaxy tennis corps#lol#translation#i dedicate this post to ari who reminded me of the aliens#lmao#who said volk looked like an alien#rude lmao#people actually voted for the trash pirate captain#i guess he is strong but eh#didnt know yuki tokugawa pair was so popular lol#i cant believe imperial pair ranked second lmao#imperial pair shippers must be rejoicing#meanwhile chinese fans were going wild when konomi uploaded some preview photos of this volume#because you can see that someone voted for tefu as a doubles pair lmao#didnt win unfortunately but it was published along with a few other lineups#that were evaluated by the shinteni coaches

Sorry for taking so long to do this but it's finally here! I must say Atobe, Tezuka and Sanada are my babies and I had a lot of fun doing this. Because Atobe is way to extra and Sanada is way to awkward XD
Atobe:
• He's the most open about acknowledging it. Kind of "Oh okay, Ore-sama has a crush. How do I get them?"
• And then he goes all out:
- Remember that time they mentioned they kind of wanted a new phone because the camera lens was dusty and they couldn't find time to clean it? Now they have a new phone.
- Remember when they said their PC was a bit slow? Yup. Now they have a new computer.
- Remember that time they asked for a pony for Christmas? Guess what... They really need to tell Atobe to stop. For the sake of common sense.
If they don't ask him to stop, he WON'T. Clothes, tech, trips, whatever they ask for they have it.
• Now. If they tell him to stop, they will. And if they see that buying things isn't working or that they are just accepting out of politeness, he'll find some other ways to woe them.
• And then he goes all out. Again:
- Flowers on their desk EVERY morning
- Picking them up from home and then taking them back there on his limusine. (May have taken them to school on Sunday accidentally once. Who knows.)
- The most expensive Belgian chocolates
- Going down their window to recite them poetry on a white horse
So basically now he has forsaken the "Let's be a sugar daddy" for the "let's be a romantic gentleman".
And really. Atobe. Just. Ask them out.
• "Wait. I didn't?"
"Atobe. You literally only had to ask and all of this is completely unnecessary"
"So... You'll go out with Ore-sama, right?"
*Sigh* "Yes. Yes I will."
• And at this point, his s/o isn't even surprised that he rented out a whole theatre for just the two of them.
• Having said that. If his s/o REALLY hates it. He will be a bit more low-key. He knows better that being way too pushy on them.
Tezuka:
• He takes some time to acknowledge it. Confusing his feelings at first with admiration. Until all his team is basically calling his crush "his partner" and Tezuka tells them they're not dating. That's when he realises. "Oh. I'd... Actually like that, though."
• His teammates try to give him advice. He hangs up on them every time. Even in person. He knows better than to trust them with any kind of love advice.
• His courtship is a lot more subdued. Asking to walk them home at first, and if that's met with acceptance he'll try to ask for a date. Something non-commiting like going to a museum or hiking or fishing if his crush is into it. Something he can always say "just as friends" if he sees reluctance.
• Once he goes past that, and he sees that his s/o is comfortable enough with hanging out with him he'd finally ask them out officially. "Next trip... Would it be fine if we make it a date?"
Sanada:
• His crush finds out he has a crush before he himself realises. And once he does he's in complete denial. "Yukimura, I don't have time for such non-sense" "Renji, your data is clearly wrong this time" "Akaya fifty laps around the courts!"
• At some point he just has to accept it though. Because he loses his breath every time his crush talks to him and there's no way that THAT isn't a crush.
• And what does he do about it? Nothing. He just tries to be the less awkward he can. Which isn't much. Because if his crush as much as smiles at him he hides behind his cap so no-one sees him blushing.
• They study together, and have dates which are basically Yukimura and Renji asking them out and then "Oops we had plans. Have fun the two of you." Someone bless this two.
• And then one day he finally gathers the strength and confesses with a: "(S/o/N), I... I know I'm not the best at this kind of things but... Would you... Would you give me the chance to date you?"
• And really, it was about time and his s/o should have probably confessed first and saved him the internal struggle. But it's been worth it. Because once he confesses he knows that he's 100% sure that they are the person he wants by his side.

Hello, can I ask for some headcanons of Atobe, Sanada and Tezuka giving their first kiss to their crush? Have a nice day!
Thank you for dropping by and I hope you have a nice day too! ♡
I'll be writing this under the assumption that they're already officially going out, because I can't see these 3 people just kissing anyone willy-nilly haha
Atobe
Honestly I can see him already giving you hand kisses whenever he meets you the first time that day or right when you meet him on your dates (because he's just extra like that), plus forehead kisses whenever you had to part for the day (it's a charm, he says). So it's just a matter of time before he kisses you on the lips!
He's trying to teach you waltz when it happens. I said 'trying' because in the end you're just enjoying twirling around and it's not exactly waltz. Not that Atobe minds. He just wants to spend time with you, and as long as you're laughing, he's fine with it. When the next music comes on and it's a slow, romantic one, you two somehow end up just slow dancing while staring into each other's eyes. And if you tiptoe for a bit to initiate the kiss, who was he to refuse?
When you both pull away, even without using his Insight he can see that you're happy about it, so he wouldn't hold back from going for more. It'll probably turn into a make-out session if you don't stop him lol
You won’t even realize it’s his first kiss, due to how smooth and confident he was.
Starting then, he wouldn’t really care if you’re outside or not. If he wants a kiss, he will get a kiss. If you want a kiss, you will get a kiss. And if someone has a problem with it, he’ll gladly confront them face-to-face if he needs to, even if that someone is his teammates.
“... No consideration at all for the single ones, huh?”
“Ahn~? It’s not ore-sama’s fault that you can’t get a significant other, Oshitari. I’ll have you run more laps if you keep complaining.”
Sanada
This awkward boy will only do it when you ask him to or tell him that you're ready!
It's not like he doesn't want it or anything! In fact, he has been wanting to do kiss you for a while, but we’re talking about Sanada here. He has mastered self-control and therefore he will wait for you for as long as it takes.
His first kiss is short, simple, and sweet. Just a peck on the lips, and he retreats immediately to ask whether that was ok or whether he accidentally did something you didn't like. And he's so relieved inwardly when you give him that beautiful smile before asking for more, which of course he complies because he just can't say no when you look so happy.
It’s so blatantly clear it’s his first kiss, and you should feel honored, really. Sanada doesn’t take the meaning of a kiss lightly.
He doesn't kiss that often, but he when he does you can feel his sincere affection in the way he tries to be extremely gentle while he's holding you close.
As you can guess, he’s not fond of kissing you in public, but if you insist, he has somehow developed this habit of shielding your faces from one side with his hat as you kiss, and he will never ever for his life turn the simple peck into a deeper kiss in public.
“I still can’t get used to this... It’s so weird to see fukubuchou being all sweet and affectionate....,” though soft, you can hear Kirihara’s voice in the distance, and you smile in amusement into the kiss.
Next you hear Yanagi’s gentle chuckle, followed by Yukimura’s laugh, and you know he’s smiling by the tone of his voice, “Haha, really? I think it’s cute.”
Tezuka
Tezuka isn't that big on skinships, and at most he holds your hand when you're out on dates, but he doesn't really kiss. He hadn't really thought about it until Kikumaru nonchalantly asks whether you two have kissed yet. Then he starts to become more aware of how inviting your lips look, and he realizes that huh, he actually wants to kiss you.
It's all so smooth when it happens! You're just enjoying each other's company when your eyes meet, and you two just stare each other in silence for some time before he closes the distance and gives you a kiss. He lingers for a while and when he's pulling away there's the rarely-seen minuscule smile on his lips.
Even after that he still doesn't kiss you on the lips that much, but he'll kiss the top of your head or your cheek when it's just the two of you! He will almost always agree to give you a kiss whenever you ask him though.
You only ever found out it was his first kiss when you were dragged into participating in the King’s game by the whole tennis club members and Fuji gets picked as the King, and he picks both your numbers before telling you to kiss (you swear he’s secretly a psychic because it feels like he knows those numbers belongs to you and Tezuka).
“Nyahaha~ What a treat~ I get to see Tezuka’s first kiss!”
“....? I’ve already had my first kiss with [First_Name].”
“W H A T ? ! ! ! ? !”

The Chinapuri finale and its montage aka censorship who?
I decided to do all of this in one post and read more, so that the 95% of my followers who are uninterested on this particular drama/source material can easily skip it. Here are 7 relationships showcased in the montage ranked and 2 bonus (a family relationship and an extra).
Note: I’ll speak about the relationships as they were portrayed, whichever the form of relationship chosen to display in this version. Also, I’m glad that everyone was aged up in this version, kinda wild but very much appreciated that some of these actors are my age or somewhere around there lol
#7 Lu Xia (Echizen Ryoma) and Qi Ying (Ryuuzaki Sakuno)
This drama was a bit more romantically-inclined in terms of these two than the anime/manga was, but some of that may be also influenced by them giving their version of Sakuno more room (which yay!) and having them be older.
For this to stand alone as a drama, it was a needed step, I believe. I found Lu Xia to be more vulnerable than Ryoma, he doesn’t feel quite as ~cool~ and it doesn’t take away from the character that he has moments showing internal struggle (in tennis as well as at home). These two were sweet and adorable, which gave the drama probably more of an expected appeal for a wider audience, to make it stand on its own as a drama and not only an anime adaptation.
#6 Yan ZhiMing (Inui Sadaharu) & Liu Lian (Yanagi Renji)
Kinda mad they didn’t do this for Fuji (Zhuo Zhi) and Saeki (Zuo Xiaohu) but they did good with these two. I didn’t know at first why they started to build up their relationship so early, but it ended up being a good emotional plot point during their match, which is, as we all know, a determining factor in Seigaku’s (Yu Qing) win against Rikkai (Hai Guang).
I don’t remember being as invested in their match in the anime as I was here, maybe I was just too focused on the Fuji match at that time, but what they did to build that game as a decisive point in the season finale was so well developed, I was impressed.
#5 He XingLong (Kawamura Takeshi) & Ya JiuXin (Akutsu Jin)
This is a relationship that can get complicated and even problematic if handled incorrectly. Akutsu’s journey through the anime is pretty long and takes a while for him to be on a healthier place, but the added element of aging the characters could have gone really wrong here if they had done him exactly as in the anime or manga. I think they did pretty well with the time they were given, showing his turmoil and learning curve.
XingLong was allowed to have a more in-depth journey being older and about to graduate, it made more sense for him here to think about his career at this stage and added the gravity of this being THE moment to decide whether to keep pursuing the sport or take over his dad’s restaurant (they even adapted the type of food they cook to match the cultural impact of the family-owned business, which was great).
I think the two complemented each other really well and worked interestingly together, in a way I didn’t think the drama was gonna give them time to do, so I’m really pleased.
#4 Qiao Chen (Momoshiro Takeshi) & Zhang BaiYang (Kaidoh Kaoru)
My younger self is thriving with this one being included tbh. These two were so much fun in the anime, two rivals and opposites that represented the future of the team upon their elders leaving.
I was surprised to see them so focused here, because it’s not a relationship most adaptations put emphasis on (their loss), but it paid off immensely by the time their game against Bunta and Jackal (Jin WenTai & Ke Jie) came around.
Kaidoh is a tough one to adapt most times, and they did him so well in this one, I think this is my favorite live action Kaidoh in any adaptation, and I’ve watched a whole bunch of tenimyu in my day. They really captured the ambiguity of his character, how he balances a tough exterior with a sensitive core. Qiao Chen maintained his feelings for Xu Xingzi (Tachibana Ann) but that didn’t stop them from showing these two every time they could.
#3 Mu Siyang (Tezuka Kunimitsu) & Ji Jingwu (Atobe Keigo)
Oh, these two. Hyotei (Xing Yao) wasn’t featured as much as one would probably expect (I’m a Fudomine fan and with Yu Feng I got more than I even was expecting, but I admit Hyotei is a riot and I always live my best life when they show up). Still, they did the Tezuka/Atobe match justice and then some.
Mu Siyang was incredibly compelling as Tezuka, and had a vulnerability to him that made me worry for his health more than I probably did for his anime counterpart. Maybe also the fact that he was older than his anime version yet looked younger than him made it sink more that his injury was something to worry about. I wish we had time to include anime!Tezuka’s issues with yips with Siyang, because I know the drama would have pulled it off, but that was further down the line in the story. Maybe for a season 2.
Anyway, the Atobe/Tezuka game is one of the best games in tenipuri history and the drama knew it. The game felt like it earned its gravity with the development of both Siyang’s injury and Ji Jingwu’s determination to play against him. Then they sprinkled the camp on top, as the anime does, with Ji Jingwu paying for his every expense and calling him to get updates, which is 100% canon compliant imo.
I feel like Ji Jingwu didn’t have enough room to be as much of Atobe as he could be, but then again, that’s not easy for anyone to pull off. Not even Kato Kazuki can do Junichi Suwabe as well as Junichi Suwabe.
#2 Bai ShiYan (Yukimura Seiichi) & Tian ZiLong (Sanada Genichirou)
So, it’s tough to feel for Rikkai (Hai Guang) at this point of the story. You learn about Yukimura’s health and it’s difficult, but you just met them and the first impressions haven’t been great.
However, the relationship between Sanada and Yukimura has always been something pivotal for the way the team is constructed (they were named that way for a reason, two parts of a same hero and all that) and they sustain the team in a way other teams don’t have to. They are the mom and dad of the team, the coaches, the leaders and the pillars. They have a balance of severity and permissiveness, of strictness and instinct. They are like a couple who has been married for 25 years.
How on Earth, I asked myself, will they achieve that with censorship on the way? I don’t know, but they did it, the mad bastards.
It really does come through 100% the importance of their relationship and the way in which the captain’s health affects the team and, more than anything, their vice captain. It reaches a crescendo during the final match, before ShiYan’s operation, and they manage to pull it off with the time they have.
Also, their scenes are like shot for a contemporary romance drama and I appreciate that vibe.
#1 Tang JiaLe (Kikumaru Eiji) & Chi DaYong (Oishi Shuichiro)
Oh boy. Look. I still own Golden Pair merchandise from my Days, ok? These two hold a special place in my heart. I saw actors who portrayed them grow up, succeed and pass away, sadly. I still sing Depend On Me sometimes. There is a cheerful vibe with these two, a sense of overcoming obstacles and finding balance, I don’t know. Fuji is my favorite character but these two are special in their way.
This freakin’ drama just went full on Golden Pair. The level of content was off the charts. The moment they came on the screen, the second they talked about their doubles, it was already setting the tone of how deep their relationship was going to go. I am a bit amazed that they avoided to get closed down for this ngl. And I appreciate the risk because it paid off.
They have a body language communication that is captured in every shot. Even when they’re not the focus of the scene, they’re close, touching or holding each other, arms around each other, hands on each other’s shoulders, grabbing each other’s clothes. When they fight, that language changes drastically, and the distance they take feels intense and cold. You go through it with them and the team shows it as well. There’s an entire episode I had screencaps of and never posted when the team falls apart because they do.
My favorite part, though, ironically, isn’t what they did with them together but what they did with them apart. They took time to develop them as individual characters with their own issues, their fears, their worries and weaknesses. They were allowed to be flawed and wrong and have to mend their ways.
What really got me and impacted me deeply was the fact that they chose DaYong to talk about mental health. They gave room to speaking about the physical implications of anxiety disorders and about how self esteem issues can give more magnitude to ongoing issues with your mental health. Again, the age of the characters being changed helped add a depth to some issues that get developed with more intensity in a drama of this kind, and the way in which it takes TIME to get resolved, it isn’t a one episode thing, it’s an underlying issue that spans the season...*chef’s kiss*
Even though there’s a specific tenimyu incarnation of these two that I hold dear and will always remember fondly, I think that Xu Ke and Zhu ZhiLing are the most successful and best portrayed live action Golden Pair I’ve ever seen.
Bonus that was in the montage but it’s specifically about a family relationship: The Zhuo Bros
I have said Fuji has always been my favorite and his relationship with Yuta as an older brother (albeit he’s not the eldest sibling like me) is one I always felt close to.
In the anime, the two have a rocky relationship that gets developed throughout, but the drama is very good at establishing not only Zhuo Yu’s (Fuji Yuta) self esteem issues, the subsequent use of that Guan Yue (Mizuki Hajime) does and Zhuo Zhi’s (Fuji Syusuke) attempts to breach the gap between the siblings, they also use it to develop Zhuo Zhi’s character and his reticence to show weakness.
It’s tough to get Fuji towards a place of vulnerability without breaking character, but they used family and the care he provides to his brother as a point to further his story, and I appreciate that a lot. They managed to build Zhuo Zhi up with this sibling bond as one of his core elements, and that gave a lot of dimension to his games and his character.
Bonus that wasn’t in the montage but I’m including in some capacity: Mu Siyang (Tezuka Kunimitsu) & Zhuo Zhi (Fuji Syusuke)
I thought these two deserved a place in the list, even if they weren’t grouped much in the montage, because the drama did make them share moments together that I feel gave more depth to their characters.
There was a very interesting moment in which they showed Mu Siyang and Zhuo Zhi establishing their differences when approaching tennis, and how serious Mu Siyang is about taking the team to victory. I think that strengthened the character as a captain to me, in a way that shows it rather than tells it, and allowed for his guidance to still be present when he wasn’t physically there. His determination ultimately influenced Zhuo Zhi to take things more seriously, and that was a pretty interesting development to see.
All in all, I should, at some point, go and do a serious review for MyDramaList but I wanted to leave in my blog how much I appreciated this adaptation. I wasn’t expecting much and I was delivered everything.

15 questions on Prince of Tennis
1. Favourite Character
• Sanada Genichirou. He's a character that has grown a lot. He went from: We're not allowed to lose to realising that sometimes defeat is unavoidable and learn from those. While still prideful, I feel he's a lot less uppity. He needed to be taught some lessons on humility and he DID. And he has grown to be an amazing character. When I met him he was aggressive, too prideful and way too arrogant. Which led to his defeat at Kantou. From then on, though, you see him grow. You see him train. You see him lose. And win. You see how much he cares about his team. And how, despite always asking a lot from others, he always asks even more of himself. You see him struggle and mature. I like a lot his portrayal on some of the TeniRabi event because it shows a lot of other shades on him. (Encouraging Yukimura not to let his plants die, helping Akaya pass a videogame stage, memorizing where are a certain type of flowers to show to Yukimura once they bloom). He may not say it often, but he has a lot of little moments where you can see that he cares about others way more than he shows. I mean. He gifted calligraphy to ATOBE and that's CANON. And during Senbatsu ark he tells Akaya: "What would Rikkai do without you?" And damn if that doesn't show his soft spot for the baby of the team. He is strong-willed, and passionate, and softer than he admits, he is disciplined, and an 80 year old on the body of a 15 year old, and he sings Japan's anthem in the middle of a stadium in Australia. And seriously, how could I not love him?
2. Least liked character
• Ryoga Echizen. WHAT? Yes. I know. You can sue me. But I don't quite like his personality and I find that switching from Japan to USA to Spain was a very shitty move on his part that proves him as a completely self-centered unreliable bastard.
Having said so, I'm not going to hate on anyone for loving him. Like, you do you.
3. Favourite Team
• RIKKAI. Come on most of my faves belong there. And Nioh/Yagyuu was the reason why I got in the PoT world in the first place (curiously though, they aren't between my top ten anymore. I like them, but I got to love others way more) I feel they are a very dysfunctional family with a lot of underlying issues (and not so underlying) that need a lot of love and, deep down, have a heart of gold. Except Yagyuu. Yagyuu is E V I L.
4. Least liked team
• Rokakku? Like I don't know, none of them really are my cup of tea. I don't hate them or anything. They are very nice guys and all but... That's that? Like no strong opinions?
5. Favourite Ship
• OH BOI. ALL THE SHIPS. I have at least 7 strong ships for Sanada and some low-key ones. And that's only for Sanada. So uhm yeah...
But I'll go with Sanada X Atobe for the dynamics and Sanada X Yukimura for the softness (they are soft for eachother and I'm not gonna change my mind on that)
6. Least liked ship
• I guess... Echizencest? Like Incest is not my cup of tea and I don't particularly like either Ryoma or Ryoga? So, yeah, wouldn't read anything about them.
7. Favourite Arc
• Senbatsu. You can sue me. I know. A lot of people didn't like it. I DID. First of all, we have TANGO pair. And the two idiots fighting over Tezuka. We have the scene of Sanada actually showing he cares about Akaya. Akaya's evolution through all the arc?????????? HELLO?????? I think it was during this arc that I actually came to love him and see how soft he really was. Him covering for Ann?? Because he really thinks he deserves it?? And actually realising that his devil mode is wrong and hurts people? Okay bye.
Then. Sanada. Singing. Yeah. Hehe. I simp.
Also I kind of like Hanamura sensei? Her vibes??
I think there were a lot of things they could have improved, but at the same time there were a lot of things right that helped with the character development.
And. I ACTUALLY LIKED THE AMERICAN TEAM AND AM VERY PISSED OFF THAT THEY ARE NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN.
8. Least liked Arc
• I've forgotten. Like seriously. I don't remember.
9. Favourite Movie/Ova
• Oofff that's a close call between Atobe's Gift and Battle of the British castle.
Like Atobe's gift was basically one hour or so of Atobe being soft for Kabaji, Kabaji appreciation and AtobexTezuka at its finest.
Battle of the British castle was: Prince Fuji. Atobe being extra. Kite apparently being a bitch but actually not and he helps them. SANADA BREAKING A FUCKING WALL. Sanada and Akaya bonding which is a stone I'll die in. And. They break a fucking castle. I mean. It's all very extra and I loved every second of it.
10. Least liked Movie/Ova
• Two Samurais. Sorry.
11. Favourite Match
• TEZUKA VS SANADA WAS A HUGE GROW UP FOR BOTH OF THEM, A BREAKING POINT FOR THEIR RELATIONSHIP AND THE ULTIMATE PROOF THAT SANADA AND TEZUKA ARE FRIENDS.
• Atobe Vs Tezuka is my second favourite but I'm biased.
12. Least liked match/a match you think should have gone differently
• SANADA SHOULD HAVE WON THAT MATCH AND I'M SURE YOU ALL KNOW WHICH MATCH I'M TALKING ABOUT.
13. A match you'd like to see
• Sanada VS Atobe where they actually reach a fucking conclusion. They have way too many unfinished matches. I don't even care about who wins. I just want to see them fight and then make out.
14. An interaction you'd like to see
• Plant Trio plotting someone's murder.
• Yukimura apologizing to Sanada for what happened at the hospital (canonly recognised as something Yukimura deeply regrets)
15. How do you feel about adding Aliens?
• Y E S. P L E A S E. KONOMI DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR EDITOR.

[Hyotei VS Rikkai Poster Lines]
Yukimura: I hope you won’t disappoint me, King.
Atobe: I’m gonna knock you down, Child of God.
[Translation] Hyotei VS Rikkai summary
After the U-17 World Cup, around the time each of the players have returned to their normal lives, the third years watch over Hiyoshi, who has taken over as the captain, and the second years Ootori and Kabaji leading the tennis club at Hyotei.
Meanwhile, the Atobe Group establishes a tennis court in the Shonan region (Kanagawa). Atobe nominates the most appropriate school for an exhibition match.
Their opponent is--Rikkai University-affiliated Middle School.
With their hardships from the national tournament in their hearts, Yukimura and co. accept Atobe’s challenge--not as champions… but as challengers filled with renewed determination--in order to pass on those feelings to Kirihara and Rikkai’s next generation.
Hyotei and Rikkai, who didn’t get the chance to face each other in the previous tournaments.
The third years, who will be having this as their final match in middle school, and the second years, who carry the future on their backs.
The dream games where each of their feelings intersect is about to begin…!!

hyoutei vs rikkai p1 rant / liveblog-ish
aaAAAAAAaaaAAAAAA
im a biased Rikkai fan so ngl im disappointed that the way it’s set up so far it looked like Hyoutei is gonna win... (what with all the flashbacks and portraying it from Atobe’s POV)
but! the succession element is very strong here and it seems like Hiyoshi, Ohtori, and Kabaji are definitely growing into the leadership role more than Kirihara (Yukimura hasn’t relinquished the captaincy yet?) so... far enough I guess. Are they... trying to retcon Tamagawa in or something? But still, why tf would you have him play his debut match here?
Jackal’s line about Rikkai no longer being invincible - ouch :( I guess that’s why it doesn’t feel as OOC for Rikkai to mix up their line up here? throwing caution to the wind and taking risks to evolve - a Hail Mary move, but better than risking defeat.
although hmmm... would atobe really suggest a match he can’t win? would yukimura really accept a match he can’t win? (idk what im trying to say)
Jackal giving up his doubles spot to Tamagawa // Yanagi giving up his U17 spot to Kirihara?
...why does it feel like Rikkai D2 has never played together in this combo before lol
but yeah it feels more realistic that OshiGaku would win
HOLY F*CK WHATTTTTTT
someone animated my tenipuri otp playing doubles? 🥺🥺
🥺🥺 <-- me throughout the sanayana d1 match...
maybe I remembered Rikkai as being more OP than they are but... 2/3 of the Rikkai troika winning 6-4 against Ohtori and Kabaji? was pretty impressed by Ohtori’s game-making but kinda wanted to see Yanagi doing the same (cause if he could control Devil Akaya why not Sanada?)... and im not sure why Yanagi was surprised at Kabaji copying them? (’data being rewritten’) or maybe it’s more that he didn’t expect the speed and accuracy of the copying coupled with Ohtori’s leading / supporting
omg sanayana used the same trick that yanakiri did in the nationals d2 🥺🥺
lmao my bias is showing so hard here but... finally yanagi has one match that he actually wins lol
okay. there is no heterosexual explanation for S3 that was actually a doubles match in disguise
wHERE IS NIOU
did I miss something but where Is He??? did he leave Rikkai post-U17??? what??
(was secretly waiting to see if Yagyuu was Niou illusioned the whole time)
yeah okay with S3 portraying Shishido so sympathetically (although Yagyuu is an asshole) it’s pretty obvious Hyoutei’s gonna win aren’t they :<<
hmmmmmmmMMMMMmMMM
okay but hyoutei second years working together as a team! aaaaa Hiyoshi and Ohtori making decisions and valuing Kabaji’s input!
and also gratuitous shots of my Rikkai troika 🥺🥺

🐇 Easter Flowers (Liliadent Krauser)
Genre: Fluff, Comedy
Word Count: 1,117
Pairing: Reader x Liliadent
World: Prince of Tennis
Table of Contents
━━━━━━༻🐇༺━━━━━━
You were freaking out, honestly.
Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but you were feeling pretty nervous. Why? Because Atobe Keigo decided to host an Easter festival and was handing out jobs left and right, even to students that didn’t even attend Hyotei Gakuen. Fate was totally on your side – not – because Atobe had decided that you would be the perfect person to purchase the flower arrangements for the festival. The problem? You knew absolutely nothing about flowers. How could he trust you with such a task? You felt as if the weight of the world was on your shoulders.
You bent down in front of the rows of flowers, holding your head in your hands. What in the world were you going to do? You had no idea.
“Are you okay?” The Japanese was timid and unsure with a strong accent lacing the words.
You threw your head back to look at the boy standing behind you. You blinked your eyes quickly to see if you were staring at a hallucination. This boy was clearly not of Japanese descent, but damn was he gorgeous! Silky blonde locks reached to his broad shoulders, bangs falling over crystal blue eyes. You felt your cheeks start to burn due to a mixture of his good looks and the fact that you were now staring at him.
“Excuse me?”
You snapped out of your daze, shooting up so quick that you bumped into the table. Fear overcame you as the vases began to wobble back and forth, but thankfully none of them fell. You sent the shopkeeper a sheepish smile to which she responded with a glare. You sighed, turning back to the boy and answering in English. “I’m fine, thank you for asking.”
His eyes widened in surprise, his confidence rising as he switched to his native tongue. “You speak English?”
You nodded, giving him a peace sign. “I’m half and half!”
He smiled at you, thankful to have someone to speak to in English. “Do you need help with something? You seem kind of distressed.”
“Ah…” You suddenly remembered your problem and started to sway where you stood, your skin turning pale as you muttered under your breath in Japanese. “Atobe is going to kill me if I mess this up.”
He tilted his head to the side, taking a moment to register the Japanese. One word stuck out more than the rest. “Atobe? You know him?”
You nodded once, feeling as if your soul was being drained from your body. “He sent me to get flowers for his festival but he didn’t tell me which ones to get and Yukimura-chan is away visiting family so he couldn’t help me and what the hell am I supposed to do?”
He covered his mouth to stifle his laughter.
You scowled at him, lightly smacking his arm. “It’s not funny! I’ll never hear the end of this if I mess it up!”
Placing a comforting hand on your shoulder, he smiled softly. “I can help you out… if you want, I mean.”
“You know about flowers?”
He nodded. “I enjoy flower arranging in my spare time.” His lithe fingers reached out and brushed the petals of the Orchids behind you. “Do you have anything specific in mind?”
You hummed, placing your index finger to your bottom lip as you looked up at the ceiling in thought. “Something that says ‘Spring’, I suppose. Do Easter flowers exist?”
“They do,” He placed his hand on the small of your back, directing you to the other end of the shop. The two of you spent the next three hours going through your choices. You knew that they not only had to match the season, but they also had to complement each other, as well. The flowers you finally decided on were Cosmos, Camellias, Daffodils, Tulips and, for the center of the arrangement, you chose Easter Lilies.
The shopkeeper created a single arrangement with the flowers you had chosen so you could see what the final result would look like.
Your eyes shined as you clasped your hands together under your chin. “It’s so beautiful!” You looked over at your companion with hopeful eyes. “What do you think?”
He nodded, smiling brightly at you. “It looks lovely. I’m sure Atobe will be pleased.”
Your eyes brightened at his words and you quickly threw your arms around his middle. “Thank you so much for your help!”
His pale cheeks dusted pink as he returned the hug. “You’re welcome.”
When you pulled back, you realized something. “I never asked for your name, how rude.”
“Liliadent Krauser of Nagoya Seitoku.”
“It’s nice to meet you!” You shook his hand with a grin. “Can I have your number, Liliadent-kun?”
“Please, Krauser is fine.” He rubbed his warm cheek before pulling out his cellphone.
You took it and quickly entered your number, writing your name in English for him. “Krauser-kun, then~ Call me sometime, okay? Maybe we can hang out at the festival!” You called your number from his phone so you’d have his number before handing it back to him.
“That sounds fun.”
You happened to glance at the clock hanging on the wall and cursed. “Ah! I have to go, my brother is going to kill me for being late!”
Before he could respond, you ran out of the shop, feeling much happier than when you entered. Not only had you picked out an amazing arrangement for the festival, but you also met a super cute boy to attend the festival with. You giggled to yourself as you thought about it, narrowly missing the pole that almost made contact with your face.
When you finally made it home, you received a stern lecture from your older brother for returning home so late without so much as a call or text. Despite being scolded, you couldn’t stop smiling, which only seemed to frustrate the male even more. He sighed in frustration before sending you to your room so he could prepare for dinner.
After eating dinner and preparing for bed, your phone buzzed on the side table. You had received a new message, written in perfect English.
>> I’m happy I met you. Are you free tomorrow?
You bit your lip and did your best to stop the smile from spreading, but your happiness was far too high and your lips curled up as you typed your reply:
<< I am~ What do you have in mind?
The reply came quickly.
>> I want to take you out for lunch. I’ll call you tomorrow : )
Your heart fluttered. After typing your agreement, you fell asleep as soon as your head hit the pillow with a smile glued to your face.

15 Questions on Prince of Tennis
1. Favourite Character
oh boi i have a lot
-Atobe is my ABSOLUTE favorite! I love everything about his character, from how extra he can be to how surprisingly kind he is (espeicially to his teammates). Like he threw Kabaji a whole ass surprise festival just so he can see his sister again! He also spends his allowance on his teammates. Then in one of the Npot episodes (i think the specials? I can’t remember), despite him being an asshole about it he did actually truly miss his team (mostly Kabaji ofc bc that’s his best friend) after the losers were to “go home” from the U-17 camp. He’s such a narcissist though but he can back it up. He has every right to flaunt, even if he can be obnoxious with it lol. I also love how like in his match against Irie, how he just looks so villainous despite us, the audience, supposed to be cheering for him. like I love that Konomi still draws him as a villian.
Rich kid, asshole, paint me as a villain
-Niou is my second favorite, i love the mystery behind this boy. I love how on his wiki page there are like vague things there and you have to just leave it to your imagination. like “He likes to spread rumors (Mostly about Sanada)” LIKE WHAT KIND OF RUMORS? did he pee his pants on the court once? or like is he secretly bad at tennis kind of rumors? LOL I also love how weird he is. He’s neat.
-Sanada is my third favorite character! I think @missolineaux said it best in their post here x ! (also i took this from them) like I couldn’t have said it any better myself! Sanada is just AMAZING!
-honorable mentions: Kenya (i love this clumsy fool, he’s silly and very cute) and Yukimura (a beautiful boy)...you know what, all of Rikkai.
2. Least liked character
-Ryoga and Ryoma: i don’t really like either of them that much. Ryoga is an asshole especially with what’s going down in the manga rn. You can’t trust a dirty orange peel eater anyway.
-and Ryoma, to me is just a very bland main character. like I want to like him, but there’s nothing there for me to like.
3. Favourite Team
-RIKKAI DAI! I literally love EVERYONE on this team? I always love the powerhouse teams. Hyotei is my second favorite.
4. Least liked team
-Rokkaku? they don’t get a lot of screen time. so Imma say them.
5. Favourite Ship
-This question is illegal. are you kidding me? All the ships are so good. Alright I love Atobe x Sanada. Sanada x Yukimura Atobe x Tezuka, Yagyuu x Niou Marui x Jirou Shiraishi x Yukimura x Fuji (take this as you will lol) Kirihara x Renji (both platonically and romantically)
THE LIST GOES ON
6. Least liked ship
any incest.
7. Favourite Arc
• Senbatsu Trianing Camp! I know it’s a filler but OH MY GOD. it was beautiful. it’s how I started shipping Sanada and Atobe in the first place. AND THEN the part where Kirihara was like fighting his inner demons. BEAUTIFUL! i love this arc.
For canon arcs, I’ll go with seigaku’s first matches with Hyotei. and then Their first matches against Rikkai in the same tournament arc...i think??
8. Least liked Arc
-uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhh N/A
9. Favourite Movie/Ova
Atobe’s gift and that British Castle Movie! im honestly going to have to rewatch these when I get the chance bc I don’t remember them too well lmao.
10. Least liked Movie/Ova
• Two Samurais. Sorry.
11. Favourite Match
AAAAAAAAAAHHHH I can never list one of anything LOL
Atobe Vs Tezuka Sanada Vs Tezuka Yukimura VS Tezuka (in the manga) honorable mentions: Niou and Yagyuu vs Eiji and Oishi Kirihara vs Fuji Also Fuji and Atobe vs those Australian dudes bc that had me FUCKED UP.
12. Least liked match/a match you think should have gone differently
should have gone differently: Yukimura vs Tezuka (but probably bc im bias LOL) least liked match: i can’t think of one tbh. at least not off the top of my head.
13. A match you'd like to see
-Sanada VS Atobe -Shiraishi vs Atobe -Hiyoshi vs Kaidoh (or any of the future captains going against eachother)
14. An interaction you'd like to see
• Plant Trio plotting someone's murder. (this was @missolineaux answer and I’m not changing it)
• Yukimura apologizing to Sanada for what happened at the hospital (canonly recognised as something Yukimura deeply regrets) (this is also their answer LOL )
-More Niou and Atobe interactions I love them.
15. How do you feel about adding Aliens?
I won’t be surprised by anything at this point.

Hiiii it's me again, I hope you don't mind ma asking twice... but I simply L O V E D 💕✨ your headcanons on their married life, so if you don't mind I'd like to request:
T H E I R. W E D D I N G. 🌼❤️
Like, the type of wedding, the decoration, who gives the speech, who cries the most between the two... That sort of thing XD
For Atobe, Sanada, Tezuka and Yukimura, please 😍
Atobe
Surprisingly modest, but also over the top simultaneously because he’s Atobe. But his s/o forbade him from going too overboard because it would be a pain for the staff to clean. Atobe made them promise that they can’t complain for what he has planned for their honeymoon because if he can’t go all out for the wedding then he’ll find other ways to make it up.
Atobe doesn’t cry. He prides himself on handling his emotions well, but damn, if he didn’t get a little misty-eyed watching his s/o walk down the aisle and then hearing them say their vows. It takes him by surprise how emotional he gets, probably, and even though a single tear isn’t shed from him, he’s quieter than usual. A lot of soft touches from him on this day.
Lots of elegant decorations, silk and white ribbons and pale gold and white and clear balloons. A literal red carpet. The best food anyone has ever eaten and of course the festivities go on for hours while people dance and sing and cry and eat and drink their fill. Slow songs, fast songs, songs that make people sing together.
Obviously he gives the speech, and it’s so elegant and heartfelt his s/o probably begins crying halfway through. Atobe mostly lets other people talk though, because he wants the celebration to be about him and his s/o, not about him talking.
Sanada
Has a modest wedding (god forbid he try to emulate anything that might be Atobe’s taste...) Neutral colors, pale colors, soft colors. Soothing music, a spread of food that evokes nostalgia and the future all at once because he and his s/o reminisce about their time before getting married as well as anticipate their future together.
Sanada refuses to cry, but watching his s/o walk down the aisle makes his vision blurry and he can’t stop staring at them the entire night. While all of the planning of this wedding made him the tensest he’s ever been, the actual event makes him so soft and loving. Careful touches and stroking his s/o’s knuckles with his thumb.
Voice wavers once through his vows, and he kisses his s/o like it’s their last kiss on earth. Impresses and disgusts a good portion of his old tennis team, but they still cheer and throw confetti and congratulate him because he looks so happy.
Likely set outdoors during a perfect summer day. The kind of day that’s in the transition of spring and summer, clear skies and birds and trees blossoming flowers with petals that rain down on the guests when a breeze drifts through.
Tezuka
A wedding full of friends and family, even acquaintances that he might not have thought to invite initially because he wants to share his happiness with other people.
Smiles so much and unabashedly because his s/o looks so good and his heart has never felt lighter. Also sheds a few tears when he thinks no one is looking because he’s not made of stone even though he’s stone-faced a lot, and dances freely with his s/o. A lot of his emotion probably comes out unintentionally, but he doesn’t really feel the need to hide it because he sees how outwardly happy his s/o is.
Hand kisses, cheek kisses, forehead kisses. Always holding his s/o’s hand when he can because he doesn’t want to be apart from them for even a second, even if he denies being super clingy. Surprisingly fastidious about taking photos because he wants to remember this night.
The wedding goes on for the near perfect amount of time, because he wants to lay with his s/o in their bed after everything’s said and done and just be with them. Looks forward to the days after the wedding too, organizing pictures, putting aside mementos, rewatching the video of their wedding, and even listening to his friend’s commentary.
Yukimura
A reasonably sized wedding with lots of close friends and family. He doesn’t want to put on a show for the sake of putting on a show, so the reception and the wedding will be sweet and sincere. Many colorful flower arrangements.
Surprisingly large cake, but only because he knows Marui will have more than one or two or even three pieces. The food is all familiar and warm, aims for comfort over fancy because he doesn’t need much to be happy. Isn’t super big on alcohol but will pop a bottle of champagne or two for tradition’s sake. Gives the speech and doesn’t take up people’s time with filler. Concise and sincere and heartfelt.
A good amount of decorations, also likely outdoors. Decorations that invite people to smile and let loose, soft colors and custom balloons and hanging lights that illuminate the venue with a perfect warm glow. Likely hires a live band and requests songs that are special to him and his s/o.
Accepts any and all photos, the more candid, the better. To him, the best pictures aren’t the ones that are staged, but the ones where people don’t realize they’re being captured; the raw emotion on people’s faces and how they naturally look when surrounded by friends and family.

you were/are into prince of tennis? whos your fav?
OMG ANON! Yes! And I’m terrified of how far you’ve gone on this blog to learn that LOL
We love Prince of Tennis. Katsu watched it even before we met, I watched it in ~2011-2012, and I really don’t remember much from it right now haha. I want to revisit it with Katsu and draw a lot of fun stuff when we’re in the right mood for some tennis drama. I wonder if we’re going to have different faves this time… It’s been 10 years.
I love Echizen very much. Every time we randomly remember about TeniPuri and talk about Echizen, I appreciate his sassy attitude more and more. I also adore Atobe (to the point where I have 3 figurines of him lol) and Oshitari Yuushi. Kirihara is a sweetie, Sanada and Yukimura are a good ship, and there are tons of fun characters that I’m forgetting about. Like St. Rudolph’s boys for example, they are cool too haha.
Wow that was a very unexpected ask. Thank you, Anon, I love thinking and talking about TeniPuri.
