1317– Day 4 – Elbenhawke Hall
Caroline is still recovering from her daughter’s – her second daughter’s – birth when her husband goes out for a hunt. That itself is not unusual. When there is no warfare to indulge in, hunting is a favourite sport of any noble, and she feels quite at ease spending time alone with the three children or reading a book. Sometimes she just stands on a tower, looking over the frozen landscape and the nearby Varuga River. The view from the Hall, settled on its hill as it is, is quite beautiful.
She is standing there, admiring the view, when she notices the riders coming back in great disarray. It is immediately obvious that something is wrong. She hurries down the many steps, her heart beating double-time.
Everything after that is a whirl, but one fact is clear: her husband is gravely injured, after he has run afoul of a boar on his hunt. The quickly summoned physician does what he can, but his body is so mangled that there is no help for him.
Caroline mostly feels numb. She hasn’t been married to Richard long, and while she gets along with him, there is no deep love between them. She will grieve, once the shock has worn off. She is sure of that much. But theirs has never been a love match.
Far worse is watching her father-in-law, after all the losses he has already suffered, kneeling by his son’s bedside as they keep vigil for him. She doesn’t know if she will ever be able to forget his sobs when Richard finally passes into the Watcher’s embrace.
Tumblr media
They lay him to rest in the family crypt. At least the succession isn’t in question; he has two sons and a daughter. If they aren’t as unlucky as the Dudley family has been, that will be enough to make sure the family line continues.
Caroline does her best to support Baron Elbenhawke through all of it, although she is once again thrown into insecurity about her own position in life, now that she is a young widow. Thankfully, her father-in-law clears that away by taking pains to tell her that she will always have a home at the hall. She is the mother of two of his grandchildren, after all. She wouldn’t have wished to leave in any case; she’d have to leave her children behind, wish she is fairly sure would kill her.
But it is comforting to hear that her staying won’t be an issue.

WATCHER’S COMMENTARY:
‘Fun’ fact: this wasn’t a famine death. Poor Richard just failed his age-up roll a few years back, and as I explain in my info post, I find all sims dying at 6/13/20/30 boring.
No great insightful commentary this time, I merely have a default replacement for Grim that I want to show you in all its glory, because I think that it’s very cool. I’d known that there was a Sims Medieval Grim mod for TS4 and was always a little jealous of it, so imagine my delight when I spotted one for TS3.
You can find the mod here.

What are some basic Tamil words ?
A Beginner's Guide to Basic Tamil Words
Tamil, one of the world's oldest languages, boasts a rich history and distinct character. If you're planning a trip to Tamil Nadu, connecting with loved ones, or simply curious about this vibrant culture, learning a few basic Tamil words can go a long way. This blog serves as your stepping stone into the beautiful world of Tamil!
1. Greetings and Pleasantries (Vanakkam!)
First impressions matter, and Tamil greetings are no exception. Here are some essential phrases to kickstart your Tamil conversations:
Vanakkam (வணக்கம்): This versatile word can be used for hello, greetings, or goodbye in most situations.
Kalai Vanakkam (காலַي வணக்கம்): Good morning, literally translates to "morning greetings."
Nadhiye Vanakkam (நண்பரே வணக்கம்): Hello friend, "Nadhiye" (நண்பரே) means friend.
Eppadi Irukkeergal (எப்படி இருக்கிறீர்கள்)?: How are you? (formal)
A slight bow while saying Vanakkam shows respect.
2. Essential Vocabulary (Soru Podunga!)
Mastering a few key words allows you to navigate basic situations. Here are some helpful additions to your Tamil vocabulary:
Naam (நான்): I
Neenga (நீங்கள்): You (formal)
Nandri (நன்றி): Thank you
Aamaam (ஆமாம்): Yes
Illai (இல்லை): No
Pudhu (புது): New
Varuga (வருகிறேன்): I am coming
Saappadu (சாப்பாடு): Food
Thanni (தண்ணீர்): Water
Soru Podunga (சொல்லுங்கள்): Please tell me (polite)
Learn numbers 1-10 (onnu (ஒன்று) to pattu (பத்து)) for basic transactions.
3. Asking Questions (Eppadi?)
The ability to ask questions is crucial for any interaction. Here are some Tamil phrases to get your questions answered:
Eppadi (எப்படி)?: How?
Enge (எங்கே)?: Where?
Enna (என்ன)?: What?
** ఎவ்வளவு (Evvalo)?:** How much?
Toilet eppadi iruக்கு (Toilet eppadi iruக்கு)?: Where is the washroom? (lit: Toilet how is it?)
Tamil sentence structure is Subject-Object-Verb. So, "Eppadi irukkeergal?" (How are you?) literally translates to "How are you existing?"
4. Courtesy and Gratitude (Nandrigal!)
Tamil culture emphasizes respect and courtesy. Here are some phrases to express gratitude and appreciation:
Varuga (வரவேற்கிறேன்): You're welcome (lit: I welcome you)
Samayale (சமயலில்): Excuse me
Nandrigal (நன்றிகள்): Thank you very much
Eppadi pesi sollanum (எப்படி பேசி சொல்லணும்)?: How do I say...?
A smile and a slight nod go a long way in Tamil interactions.
5. Basic Directions (Seythu Varuven!)
Finding your way around is essential. Here are some helpful Tamil words for directions:
Vaanam (வானம்): Sky (often used for "up")
Mannu (மண்): Earth (often used for "down")
Vambu (வலது): Right
Edhu (இடது): Left
Seythu Varuven (செய்து வருகிறேன்): I'll be back soon (lit: Having done, I am coming)
Pointing with your index finger is considered rude. Use an open hand instead.

Your eyes fluttered open and you were surrounded by white making it hard for your eyes to adjust to the brightness of the infirmary that began to materialize before you. "Man, that last fight with the Varuga sure did take a lot out of me." You groaned as you started to sit up on the bed. You scratched the back of your neck as you let out another higher pitched groan while stretching your back.
“Of course it took a lot out of you. Racing head first into a group of Varuga will do that to you." The light pink haired doctor came in shaking his head with a clipboard in his hand, writing something in it. "Don’t move around too much. You’re still recuperating.”
“Oh Akari, I feel fine.” You laughed at the doctor and moved your legs to dangle off the bed.
“I don’t care if you ‘feel’ fine. You’re not getting up until I say so.” He spoke authoritatively.
You laughed and shook your head. “I’m leaving.” You said, standing up and taking the I.V out of your arm.
“Y/N!” His pink hues looked upon yours with anger. It was funny, this guy scared pretty much everyone in all the airships but he never seemed to shake you. If anything, whenever he got mad at you, it made you wanna do it more.
“I’ll see you next time I need help Dr. Akari.” You laughed as you waved him off as if his words meant absolutely nothing to you. You walked past him, patting his shoulder with your hand and went into the hallway, making your way back to your airship.
His peach eyes watched you walk out of the room and he knew there wasn’t any way he was making you stay so he grunted and wrote you off as discharged.
“Guys, I’m back!” You yelled in victory as you entered Airship 2, gently scratching off the rest of the adhesive from the medical tape that had held the IV needle in your arm and were greeted by Yogi, Gareki and Nai. “Where’s everyone else?”
“Oh, I don’t know. They said they were going to go out. Had some business to finish attending to, I guess.” Yogi shrugged with a small sad, defeated smile on his face.
“Don’t need to look so down about it. It mustn’t have been too important if they didn’t bring you along.” You patted his shoulders and gave him a smile which he happily returned.
“Oh, you know that’s not true. But thank you anyway.” He laughed and sat down on his favorite chair, unwrapping a piece of candy and plopped it in his mouth.
“Well, hey. I’m going to go see if I can scoop up any more information on those Varuga, I feel like we were so close...” You spoke as you gave them another wave and headed on your way to the research room. You spent quite a while in there, studying where you’ve seen the Varuga, the patterns, if any, that they have shown.
Finally, as if it seemed like you were in there for days, you hopped up off the chair smiling at what you seemed to have figured out on the paper you grabbed. Giving a swift nod, you proceeded to find Hirato in hopes that he’d accept the information you had found and after asking around, you finally got your answer as to where Hirato was. Unfortunately for you, he was in Akari’s room. ‘Great.’ You thought in your head, either Akari is going to be very irritable that Hirato is in his room or... no, that's it, he's going to be very irritable and will probably yell at you for being up and about when you 'should be' resting.
As you rounded the many twists and turns of the ship, you came upon Akari’s room. The door was shut so you gave a small knock before entering the room. Hirato, Tsukitachi and Akari were sitting on the couches in his room with teacups on the coffee table, quite the strange set up... but you shook your head slightly and blinked your eyes.
When everyone turned to look at you Akari’s eyes had widened and he got up off the couch. And let's just say, it was far from elegant. “How are you feeling?” The pink-haired doctor walked or more so stumbled up to you and he placed his hands on your shoulder.
You could smell the scent of alcohol coming off his breath. “I uh.” You glanced over to see Hirato and Tsukitachi chuckling on the couch. “I’m fine. I just had questions for Hirato.” Your eyes glanced over the doctor’s face just inches away from yours, your cheeks heating up lightly before giving a small nod and wriggled out of Akari's grip on your shoulders. Looking over at your captain, you walked next to his chair, leaving Akari staring after you. “Did you guys really have to go and get him drunk… again?” You laughed as you took out a small sheet with some writing on it.
“Can you blame us? He’s less irritable when he’s not all Mister Professional Pants. And you can't deny that when he gets like this, he's amusing as hell.” Tsukitachi laughed as he clinked his tea cup with Hirato’s.
You knew full well that their cups were alcohol free while Akari’s was laced with it. “Anyway, on a serious note. I think I found a site where the Varuga’s are hiding out. I’m not sure if you want me to keep an eye on them or not. I just have a feeling they’re connected to the Kafka incid-“
“Aapp, aapp, aapp.” Drunk Akari wobbled his way to you and pulled you back by the shoulders so you were now leaning against the drunk's chest. “You are not -hicc- to be doing anything -hicc- for the next couple of days.” He had one finger wiggling in front of your face and you were so tempted to bite it that you had begun opening your mouth. “You’re still recovering.” He spoke as he ended it with a hiccup causing you to chuckle instead of bite him.
“You know, Akari? I don’t think you’re in your right mind to be restricting me. You aren’t thinking straight, how about you sleep on it and tell me your thoughts in... a few years.” You gave him a small boop on his nose which immobilized him for a bit like a cat and you couldn’t help but laugh at his intoxicated self. You turned your head, gaze landing on Hirato. “Just let me know what you want me to do.” You gave him a nod before gracefully moving from Akari’s weak grip and bounced out of the room and to your bedroom.
“Why doesn’t she listen to me?” Akari had a visible childlike pout on his face as he plopped in his seat, grabbing his tea cup which was now full again. Funny thing was that it now was strictly liquor, no tea in it at all.
“Well...” Hirato spoke up, sipping his tea with a slight smirk on his face. “She is quite stubborn, but also quite capable of handling herself enough to not listen to anyone. Especially you or I. Even if some of the things people say are reasonable, she manages somehow and comes out of things barely scathed.” He shrugged but eyed the pink haired man suspiciously.
“I don’t listen to you.” Tsukitachi laughed as he sat back against the couch, eyeing the man as well.
“Yeah, well I don’t care about you.” Akari spit out harshly before taking a sip of his ‘tea’.
“Oh, my heart.” Tsukitachi dramatized. “My precious little heart. I think I need some medical attention, Doctor.” He closed his eyes and threw his hand in the air.
“Shove it.” Akari vocalized. “It’s just… Everyone here listens to me, heeds my warnings but when it comes to Y/N… she doesn’t listen to me. The only person on this ship I truly care about listening to me -hicc- doesn’t.” He furrowed his eyes at the cup of tea before looking up at the speechless men. “Wh-hicc-at?”
“Oh, it’s nothing.” Hirato spoke as he clamped a hand over Tsukitachi’s gaped mouth. “We should be on our way then.” He stood up and dragged Tsukitachi out of the room and into the hallway, leaving the confused drunk on the couch where he most likely will pass out on.
“Akari… our Akari has… feelings?” Tsukitachi spoke with both amazement and laughter.
“I had my hunches.” Hirato shrugged as he let go of the redhead. “And he’s not the only one who isn't consciously aware of it either.” He said as he spoke of you. You may not think Akari’s presence affects you in any way but Hirato has always been able to see right through your façade whether you knew it yourself or not. And the clear blush you had on your face when Akari was worrying so close to you? Yeah, that didn't go overlooked by your captain.
You stretched loudly as you fumbled out of bed and put your clothes on. You met up with Yogi and Iva awaiting your orders from a certain dark violet haired man. You kicked back and landed your feet on the table, allowing yourself to slump in the chair just seconds before your captain entered the room.
“Alright everyone, so thanks to Y/N’s digging we were able to…” He started to fade in your ears as you spaced out. Not really thinking about anything except your eyes focusing on a beautiful shade of pink on the bookshelf, it seemed like that color was always on your mind and you couldn’t shake it. Not since your first day boarding this ship. Anyway, Hirato’s voice pierced through your thoughts as he banged on the table. “Y/N, are you listening?”
“Oh, yes, yeah of course. Always.” You gave him a lazy smile and waited for him to tell you what exactly it is that you were doing.
“So, Tsukumo and Iva will check the outskirts of the forest and Yogi, Y/N and I will go in deeper to try and draw any of the Varuga’s out. Gareki and Nai, you both will be waiting by the airship. Okay, any questions?” He asked as he scanned his group. Gareki let out a groan and Nai poked him, Iva and Tsukumo both nodded while Yogi was excited that he was basically going to be on the front line. You, on the other hand, couldn’t care less. You just wanted to get there already and beat some Varuga’s senselessly since they were the ones who had murdered your entire family, just leaving you behind which will be unfortunate for them once you find them.
The ride on the airship to your destination burned you up inside. The waiting was so intense that the minutes felt like hours to you. Finally, as if it took you all 10 hours, the airship came to a stop and started to lower.
You stood up out of the chair as soon as you felt the ship start to descend. You didn’t want to wait for the others but the Hitsuji wouldn’t let you go out alone. ‘Those damn sheep.’ You cursed in your head. Once everyone was gathered at the door, your path was cleared and everyone made their way off the ship.
“Alright, Tsukumo, Iva, go on ahead.” Hirato’s voice rang with authority and the two went on their way. Gareki and Nai were accompanied by 4 Hitsuji as the base of the airship and you stood with Yogi and Hirato, reluctantly awaiting your orders to go in. “Okay, now, the three of us will start to go in as soon as Tsukumo and Iva come back from their first round. Then we’ll head in swiftly and quietly, keeping in the trees the best we can.” Hirato kept speaking out the orders and you nodded as well as Yogi and awaited the girls.
After about 10 minutes, they came back around and nodded at us to continue. Taking their cue, Hirato, Yogi and you headed into the forest, keeping above the ground and in the trees. You all bounced around from tree to tree making your way deeper and deeper.
Your skin started to crawl and the hairs on the back of your neck rose and you couldn’t help your feet dragging you off in a different direction than your group. You darted off to where you felt worry emanating from, hoping that your intuition was true. You could hear the quiet hollers coming from your captain but you couldn’t stop. You needed to find them and you knew they were there.
After a bit, you came across a cave and stayed in the trees, watching the entrance for any activity. “Come on, where are you?” You whispered under your breath and slightly wondered where Hirato and Yogi were. Sure, you were fast and all, but it shouldn't take long for the two of them to catch up to you. All of a sudden, you saw a ruffle coming from your peripheral. Your head snapped to where you saw movement and there he was… The bastard that you watched kill your entire family. You have had a plan of attack mapped out in your head for as long as you could remember but when you saw him it was like you lost all means of reason. Your vision became flooded with red as your blood began to boil, fingers twitching and curling into a fist while your nails dug into the palm of your hand. You jumped out of the tree you were in and unsheathed both of your daggers, bringing the thick blades down right next to the man.
He easily jumped out of the way and into the nearest tree as if he was already aware of your presence. “Well, hello there, little girl. You shouldn’t be wandering the forest all alone now, hmm.” His voice snaked through your veins, triggering the darkest memories that had homed itself in your brain. There was absolutely no doubt in your mind that it was him.
“I just figured I’d come and pay you a visit with this blade.” You gave him a cynical grin as you bounced off tree to tree and crouched down above him, both blades held tightly in your grasp.
“Pay a visit? Oh my. That’s right.” He sat above the cave, elbow on his knee as he examined you with a sly grin on his face. “My, my, how you’ve grown. Gone and joined the circus now have you?” He spoke, mockingly. "That jump you did early needs a bit of work, not sure if the audience would be awed over it."
“How about we skip the reintroduction and get to the part where I kill you?” Your voice spitting the words like venom and jumped up off the branch you knelt on. You brought your blades down, catching his cheek and drawing a bit of blood with the tip of one of them.
“Oooo hoo hoo.” He started to giggle. “That tickled.”
You kept raining down attacks on him, missing every time and you started to draw tired as your adrenaline began to plummet. “How about you stop moving. Thanks.” You threw him a smile and whipped one of your blades around and suddenly it became a rope that wrapped around his ankle.
“Aghk.” He gasped as you brought him upside down and began to fling him from tree to tree until you got attacked from the back. “Did you… -cough- really think that I of all people would be here alone?” He wiped a bit of blood off his lip as it formed into a devious smile.
There was another Varuga behind you, a bit bigger than the man you were fighting but that meant nothing to you. Your whip transformed back to your dagger as you used the other to gash the man’s arm. He hollered out in pain but once he was down, 6 more came out of the woodwork. “Shit.” You swore, readying yourself for more attacks. Everything was happening so quickly, you were getting attacked from every direction until someone knocked you off your feet and your back hit the ground hard, knocking the wind from your lungs.
"Back away." His voice ordered the Varuga and you watched him approach, kneel on one side of you and fisted the material of your shirt. He lifted you up and slammed you back into the ground. "It's pathetic how a tiny little orphan like you thinks they have anything against me."
Your vision went extremely hazy as your head knocked harshly on the dirt ground. You coughed loudly and furiously blinked your eyes as you struggled to gain your vision back. You saw something glint in the corner of your eye and felt cool metal tease at your throat and you knew that he was holding one of your blades against your neck. Putting some pressure down, you felt a sharp stinging as he drew blood from your neck while he chuckled dryly.
That, however, was the last thing you remembered before your body betrayed you and fell into the darkness.
-Some time later-
You lazily opened your eyes and was greeted by the familiar white of the infirmary. You don’t even remember what happened… One minute you were fighting the Varuga that killed your family, the next you’re here… sitting in Dr. Akari’s infirmary. “Goddammit!” You hissed a yell through your teeth as you hit the bed with your fists.
You heard the door open swiftly and there stood the pink haired doctor. “Are you okay?” His similar pink eyes scanned your body with worry tinted in his eyes.
You gritted your teeth before responding. “I-I’m fine. I just… don’t remember really wha-“
“It’s because you went against Hirato’s orders. He debriefed me on the situation. How many times have I told you that you need to be careful and to listen to… him.” He shook his head and was acting strangely now but there was a scold on his face.
Anger filled your veins as you slid yourself off the bed and honestly felt slightly wobbly but there was no way you were going to let Akari see that. “I’m careful enough, I haven’t gotten myself killed yet, have I?” You hissed. Funnily enough, even though you were a part of Circus which operates on orders, you don’t like listening to people.
“I don’t want to have to treat your wounds all the time.” Akari spoke out harshly.
“Ha.” You rolled your eyes at him. ‘Well… that was rude.’ You thought in your head as you started to walk by him. “Then stop treating me. I was so goddamn close." You hissed the last part as you brushed harshly past him.
“Hey.” He grabbed your hand, causing you to stumble to the side a bit, cursing at the fact that you still felt so weak. “That’s not what I meant it as…” His voice had lowered, his tone catching you off guard. You turned your head to him, looking in his peach eyes which held a small bit of sadness. “What I mean is… I don’t want to see you get hurt.” His eyes wandered all over your face, his grip on your hand loosening till your hand fell out of his own. "Besides, it doesn't matter how close you are if you can't defeat your enemy."
"What the hell do you know?!" You spit as your eyes widened with fury. "You sit here in your clean comfy room treating the ones who go out and put their lives on the line! What would you know about having your entire family slaughtered in cold blood right. in. front. of. your. eyes?"
"Y/-"
"SHUT UP! I'm sick of people telling me I can't do what I want! What if I want to go out there and risk my life for lousy revenge? What if I don't give a shit about the life I'm living right now because I have no family to care about?!" Your blood was boiling and tears were spilling from your eyes, your chest heaving as you breathed through gritted teeth.
You began to turn on your heel fast but your injury prevented that from being possible and your balance faltered. "Careful!" Akari quickly grabbed onto your arms to keep you from falling to the ground.
"Just leave me alone!" You tried pushing off his grip on your arms but he collapsed your back against his chest. “Now, why would you care?” You wriggled weakly in his arms, trying to keep your balance proper and to shake off any vulnerability you held.
His grip around your body tightened and he dropped his head against your shoulder, his hair brushing against your cheek and it made you go rigid. "I care more than you could ever know." He breathed out, his hot breath tickling your neck making your body heat up and shiver at the same time.
You blinked a few times, mouth open as you struggled to come out with any words. "I-"
"I understand what you're saying. It sucks not having family, and even more so to see them go right before your eyes. But... you have family aboard this ship. That insufferable captain you have along with the younger ones in your team. Everyone in Circus is one big family and just because you think it doesn't matter if you sacrifice your life doesn't mean it won't matter to everyone else." He nuzzled his face into your neck as he sighed, his voice wavering slightly at the end.
You stood still and silent, unsure of how to respond properly but you ended up twisting in your spot a bit. Akari reluctantly loosened his grip as you turned around, not backing away at all but wrapping your arms around his body instead. "I'm sorry." You whispered into his chest as you leaned into him, close to collapsing against his chest. "I just..." Your voice got softer, quieter as you could feel tears beginning to form.
Akari moved one of his hands to your head, his fingers feeling through strands of your hair. "It's fine. I just really hate seeing you come in unconscious one moment, covered in blood the next, with broken bones..." He let out a heavy sigh before backing away, keeping his hand on your head and he looked down at you.
You backed away as well, leaning back into one of his hands as you gazed up at him, pink beginning to tint the whites of your eyes as you held back your tears. "I was so close, Akari." Your eyes were glossed over with tears, filled with defeat.
He moved his hand, combing down your hair and his fingertips met your jaw, thumb tracing along your cheekbone. He rested his palm against your face, pulling you up ever so slightly to look at him better. "And I'm sorry you didn't get the results you were looking for. But Y/N, everyone here is on your side. If you just believed in us, we can help you. This isn't something you have to go through alone." He caressed your cheek, sending warm waves through your body, your chest tightening with his actions and words.
You sniffled, eyes still looking into his while you leaned into his touch. "You're being so nice." You ended your words with a small chuckle, feeling a blush set in when you realized just how close your faces were to each other.
You didn't miss the pink on his cheeks rising while his eyes started to dart around your face. "I'm just glad you're okay." His eyes searched yours for a moment, then he leaned into you while pulling up your face. His lips covering yours quickly but ever so gently and the feeling of Akari’s lips against yours made your stomach flip.
Your eyes were still open but they started to flutter shut as Akari delicately moved his lips against your own. The kiss felt needy but calming at the same time and you reached up to grab onto his purple necktie, pulling his body in closer to yours. You’ve never realized how much you’ve wanted to do this till you felt yourself drowning in his lips, intoxicated by the scent of his cologne and the way he held onto your body.
With your emotions beginning to feel overwhelming, tears began to flow down your cheeks and your lips began to tremble, something Akari didn't miss, especially the way your chest and arms started to shake. He backed away, cold air brushing over your damp lips and he dragged his thumb underneath your eyes.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to start crying, I just—" You brought your hands up to your face, wiping away the tears that didn't seem to stop falling. "I felt as if my heart was going to explode."
Light laughter filled your ears and you brought your gaze with furrowed eyebrows up to the man in front of you. He shook his head, placing his forehead against yours. "You never cease to surprise me." You cocked your head, brows still knit together. "You were so furious earlier and now you're crying because of a kiss."
"H-hey, I-I'm not just crying because you kissed me. All my emotions are just- they're just- I'm just getting overwhelmed!" You looked down, your face as well as the tips of your ears red and you kicked his toe with yours.
"And now here you go kicking me." He continued to laugh, his thumb drawing tiny circles against your cheekbone.
"You're saying I'm surprising you but here you are kissing me! Acting like a completely different person!" You huffed and looked up at him with a small pout.
"I've always been different around you." His gaze made your heart race. "Why do you think I get so mad when you're brought in here with injuries?" His hand went to caress your hair again, bringing his fingers through strands of your hair before resting it back on your face.
"Akari..." You breathed his name and your tears began to dry as you inched closer to him. Your mind was running with thoughts of the pink haired man, processing his words, actions and just everything this man did. You understood why he said he didn't want to treat you. "I'll try my best not to get hurt anymore."
"You're definitely going to keep getting hurt." He said matter-of-factly, tightening his grip slightly against your cheek. "There's no way something won't happen when you hunt for the Varuga, but try your best to not jump into meaningless fights. Especially the types you ignore Hirato and go out of your way for."
You nodded your head, wanting to collapse into his chest but he had other ideas. He lifted your head and connected your lips once again but this time he traced his tongue along your bottom lip. You smiled slightly as your heart began to flutter at the feel of his tongue and you opened your lips a bit allowing him to explore your mouth. His tongue felt its way around your mouth and his hands sprawled against your back as he pulled you in as close as possible. Your arms had snaked around his neck and you both passionately deepened the kiss, backing away for the shortest breaths ever.
Your knees had begun to weaken and your brain started getting fuzzy as you began to feel light-headed. Akari once again noticed and he backed away, keeping his hold on you. “You are so stubborn.” He laughed and a new playful look danced across his face and you just shrugged.
Everyone knew you were stubborn.
His arm stayed around your waist to keep you upright and he started walking you backwards to the bed. You felt the edge right behind your knees, causing you to sit down on the mattress. You sighed and rolled your eyes playfully, laughing slightly as you gave in to resting on the bed.
He ended up giving you a shy smile and knelt on the ground before you, his hand was caressing one of your cheeks. You were slightly shocked at what you were feeling, but you know what? You didn’t mind, you didn’t mind the feeling one bit. “Now, lay down and rest please. I want you better.” He placed a small kiss upon your lips and you laid backwards, listening to the doctor’s orders for once. “I’ll come back in a bit to check up on you.”
“You know what to do if I don’t wake up right?” You smirked as you watched the pink head walk away.
“Of course I do, sleeping beauty.” He gave you a smile before exiting the room and closed the door behind him. He left you with your nose twitching as you felt your lips with your fingers, swimming in giddy thoughts of what's developed between the two of you.

Karneval - Score 129: Partners.
Tumblr media
Here’s the second part of the summary for chapter 129, enjoy!
Summary below:
For the first part check: here.
[Remember to read it from right → left].
Second part:
(Don’t forget to check Muse’s blog for the raws).
We are at the Tokitatsu Residence [x], there we see him and Sargina talking. She says Tsubame it’s ready for her first day as a Circus combatant and he says he expects great things from her [x].
She asks him if he checked the data Karoku sent and we see a flashback [x], Karoku is desperate because of Nai’s disappearence. He’s angry at Circus and he tells Tokitatsu that they had a deal: Karoku would work with them in order to defeat Kafka and in return they would protect Nai.
Tokitatsu apologizes and shows him a video of Keshiki [x], Karoku immediately recognizes him and tells him that he (Keshiki) is Kafka’s founder. Tokitatsu says that Keshiki told them that Nai has rejoined Kafka and then he asks Karoku to tell him everything he knows about Keshiki and his organization. He also promises to find Nai, whatever it takes [x].
After a long time, we finally meet our Second Ship crew again! [x]
Yogi and Hirato are flying somewhere for a mission, Yogi is acting a little hyped (”look at that cloud, look overe there!”) so Hirato tells him he’s tiring him. Yogi apologizes and says it’s because he’s worried to death about Nai but that he knows that if Nai were there he would try to encourage him so he’s trying his best to remain cheerful.
Hirato smiles, says he’s right and they banter a little lol [x - first page], then they hear Tsukitachi’s voice over the comms [x - second page].
He’s the one in charge of the mission so he reminds them the instructions: they have to find and tail people affiliated to Kafka, as well as discover a way to infiltrate their territory.
He explains that Kafka’s HQ is most probably protected by the same system that guards the Research Tower and the Tokitatsu Residence: an optical shield and a camouflage that make it almost undetectable from the outside [x - first page].
They will target three different zones, each of them suspected to be harbouring Kafka’s supporters and probably varugas too according to Circus intel [x - second page].
They will work in groups:
Yogi and Hirato.
Kiichi, Tsukumo and Iva.
Tsukitachi and Jiki.
After this, he dismisses the different teams and tells them he expects good results [x].

Anime i’ve Watched
That begin with a K (Part 2)!
Yep this is how i’m going to bring over all the anime and manga i’ve watched and posted about on the old blog. It’s not so detailed but it will have to do. Anything new I watch or read from this point on will have their own posts.
Karneval
Genres: action, fantasy, josei, mystery, sci-fi
Tumblr media
Synopsis:  While in search of his precious friend, a young boy named Nai falls captive to a beautiful woman, whose looks are matched only by her taste for human flesh. Meanwhile Gareki, a clever thief, is in the midst of robbing her luxurious home. After causing a distraction, Gareki agrees to help Nai escape, but they are discovered upon the woman's return. As she transforms into a ghoulish monster, the boys flee. On the run, Nai and Gareki are found by "Circus," a government defense agency that deals with criminal activity too difficult for the police to handle and protects civilians from "varuga"—terrible monsters that devour humans for sustenance. In the hope that it will lead Nai to his missing friend, he and Gareki decide to join Circus. On their perilous journey, they face dangerous varuga and begin to uncover the secrets behind a shadowy organization known as Kafka. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Tumblr media
My Rating: 7/10
Finished airing in 2013 with a total of 13 episodes.
My Thoughts: Love the character design and I was interested in the story but the series is far too short. I’d suggest you go read the manga (which is farther along) but it’s rarely updated so I can’t confidently say it’s worth the read. Your choice is read/ watch this and suffer alongside me with the lack of updates or erase its existence from your mind. Your call!
Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru (Run with the Wind)
Genres: comedy, sports, drama
Tumblr media
Synopsis:  Former ace runner of Sendai Josei High School, Kakeru Kurahara is chased away from a convenience store for shoplifting. Shaking off his pursuer, he runs into Haiji Kiyose, another student from his university. Haiji is impressed by Kakeru's agility and persuades him to live in Chikusei-sou, the run-down apartment where Haiji resides along with eight other students. Having lost his entire apartment deposit at a mahjong parlor, Kakeru accepts the offer reluctantly. However, Haiji reveals a secret during Kakeru's welcoming party: the apartment is actually the dormitory of the Kansei University Track Club. He unveils his ultimate goal of participating in the Hakone Ekiden—one of the most prominent university marathon relay races in Japan. Unfortunately, all the residents apart from Haiji and Kakeru are complete running novices. Worse still, none of the inhabitants are even remotely interested in being involved with Haiji's ridiculous plan! With only months before the deadline, will the fourth-year student be able to convince them otherwise and realize his elusive dream of running in the Hakone Ekiden? [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Tumblr media
My Rating: 10/10
Finished airing in 2019 with a total of 23 episodes.
My Thoughts: This was a masterpiece in my opinion, an anime I won’t soon forget and one of the best of its season without a doubt! Good stuff right here and not in a high school setting which is a change of pace for a sports anime! A very satisfying anime that I highly recommend.
Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises)
Genres: drama, historical, romance, film
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Although Jirou Horikoshi's nearsightedness prevents him from ever becoming a pilot, he leaves his hometown to study aeronautical engineering at Tokyo Imperial University for one simple purpose: to design and build planes just like his hero, Italian aircraft pioneer Giovanni Battista Caproni. His arrival in the capital coincides with the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, during which he saves a maid serving the family of a young girl named Naoko Satomi; this disastrous event marks the beginning of over two decades of social unrest and malaise leading up to Japan's eventual surrender in World War II. For Jirou, the years leading up to the production of his infamous Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter aircraft will test every fiber of his being. From witnessing firsthand the growing antisemitism in Germany to fatefully reuniting with Naoko at a summer resort, his many travels and life experiences only urge him onward—even as he realizes both the role of his creations in the war and the reality of the waning health of his beloved. As time marches on, he must confront an impossible question: at what cost does he chase his beautiful dream? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

My Rating: 8/10
A film released in 2013
My Thoughts: Beautiful and dreamy but not one of my favourite anime films unfortunately. Still very good though!
Kekkai Sensen
Genres: action, comedy, superpower, supernatural, vampire, fantasy, shounen
Tumblr media
Synopsis:  Supersonic monkeys, vampires, talking fishmen, and all sorts of different supernatural monsters living alongside humans—this has been part of daily life in Hellsalem's Lot, formerly known as New York City, for some time now. When a gateway between Earth and the Beyond opened three years ago, New Yorkers and creatures from the other dimension alike were trapped in an impenetrable bubble and were forced to live together. Libra is a secret organization composed of eccentrics and superhumans, tasked with keeping order in the city and making sure that chaos doesn't spread to the rest of the world. Pursuing photography as a hobby, Leonardo Watch is living a normal life with his parents and sister. But when he obtains the "All-seeing Eyes of the Gods" at the expense of his sister's eyesight, he goes to Hellsalem's Lot in order to help her by finding answers about the mysterious powers he received. He soon runs into Libra, and when Leo unexpectedly joins their ranks, he gets more than what he bargained for. Kekkai Sensen follows Leo's misadventures in the strangest place on Earth with his equally strange comrades—as the ordinary boy unwittingly sees his life take a turn for the extraordinary. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Tumblr media
My Rating: 8/10
Finished airing in 2015 with a total of 12 episodes.
My Thoughts: I recall this terribly sad episode that was an absolute masterpiece but to be honest the rest of the series didn’t leave much of an impression on me. I didn’t even bother watching the second season when it came out. Do what you will with that information.
Kenka Banchou Otome: Girl Beats Boys
Genres: action, martial arts, school, shoujo, TV short
Tumblr media
Synopsis:  Kenka Banchou Otome - Girl Beats Boys, Hinako Nakayama has spent all of her life being raised in state-run orphanages, without ever knowing her family. As she's about to enter high school, Hinako is approached by Hikaru, a boy who claims to be her twin brother. According to Hikaru, Hikaru and Hinako are the children of the head of the powerful Onigashima yakuza family, and Hikaru wants Hinako to switches places with him at Shishiku Academy, an all-boys school overrun with the nation's toughest delinquents. Can Hinako save her brother, find romance, and become the new boss of the school? (Source: Crunchyroll)
Tumblr media
My Rating: 7/10
Finished airing in 2017 with a total of 12 episodes.
My Thoughts: Reverse harem style, tv short with a tomboy female lead. Not really long enough to leave much of an impression but fun enough if you have some time to waste. Surprisingly great art/ animation.
Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun
Genres: comedy, seinen, sports
Tumblr media
Synopsis:  He is charming, cool, athletic, a good cook, but more importantly, he's a clean freak. Aoyama is idolized and respected by everyone, but they can only admire him from afar due to his mysophobia. Despite that, he plays soccer—a rather dirty sport! As the playmaker for Fujimi High School's soccer club, Aoyama avoids physical contact at all cost and cleanly dribbles toward victory. However, the path to Nationals will not be easy for Fujimi's underdog team. But alongside striker Kaoru Zaizen, Aoyama will show everyone that even as a clean freak, there are things he's willing to get dirty for. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Tumblr media
My Rating: 7/10
Finished airing in 2017 with a total of 12 episodes.
My Thoughts: comical with what I recall to be very little focus on the actual playing of sports which is a bummer if that’s what you’re looking for. It was alright but there are definitely better comedy (and for sure sports) anime's out there!
Kill la Kill
Genres: action, comedy, superpower, school
Tumblr media
Synopsis:  After the murder of her father, Ryuuko Matoi has been wandering the land in search of his killer. Following her only lead—the missing half of his invention, the Scissor Blade—she arrives at the prestigious Honnouji Academy, a high school unlike any other. The academy is ruled by the imposing and cold-hearted student council president Satsuki Kiryuuin alongside her powerful underlings, the Elite Four. In the school's brutally competitive hierarchy, Satsuki bestows upon those at the top special clothes called "Goku Uniforms," which grant the wearer unique superhuman abilities. Thoroughly beaten in a fight against one of the students in uniform, Ryuuko retreats to her razed home where she stumbles across Senketsu, a rare and sentient "Kamui," or God Clothes. After coming into contact with Ryuuko's blood, Senketsu awakens, latching onto her and providing her with immense power. Now, armed with Senketsu and the Scissor Blade, Ryuuko makes a stand against the Elite Four, hoping to reach Satsuki and uncover the culprit behind her father's murder once and for all. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Tumblr media
My Rating: 9/10
Finished airing in 2014 with a total of 24 episodes.
My Thoughts: One of my top three favourite anime's of all time despite my not giving it a perfect score and the sole reason i’m such a Trigger fangirl despite the way they continue to disappoint me with each and every new release... Highly recommend! Fair warning there’s plenty of skimpy outfits and fan service which may turn some off but if you can get past it this really is an anime worth checking out. Great story, characters, music and style! A chaotic feast for the eyes and ears! I really should rewatch it...

kiss prompts. || @safaerax
[ FIRST ] // hirato and akari 👀
Nights were often tireless among the second ship’s crew. Akari was probably the worst offended among those under Hirato’s charge. Always the diligent one, sworn to uphold his responsibilities at his own expense. Hirato always respected that about Akari, but that didn’t mean he approved of it. Nonetheless, he was grateful for the tireless doctor’s work. Otherwise, Yogi and company would never have found their place here.
Visiting Akari in the late hours of night had become a habit against Hirato’s own best judgement (as he knew he’d always meet the same result), but he opted to do so without protest. Hirato’s expectations were met as he entered the good doctor’s unit. Tie unruly, pink locks splayed across his chair’s backrest, and a stack of papers in disorder. Akari was asleep, but Hirato wouldn’t say he looked at ease. Then again, Akari never looked at ease (unless met with a particular surprise in his tea). As much as Akari cared for all of those around him, he certainly neglected himself.
“ My, my... ” Hirato voiced his disappointment. Although, there was something all too endearing about the scene. No matter how impossible a task or cute, Akari would wear himself to the brittle bone to solve or find it. It was a shame there weren’t more people like him; though, that only meant Hirato had to cherish this one.
Tumblr media
Hirato made his way to Akari’s desk and idly took note of all Akari had been working on. Most of it didn’t make much sense to him save for the sprinkled words that were common across their ship: Cricus, Varuga, and a series of individual case files. “ You’re going to give yourself a heart attack one of these days. ” Subtle teasing as he began to pick Akari up bridal style to carry the good doctor to his quarters. Now secure in bed, Hirato traced his hand across Akari’s forehead to swipe his bangs out of the way. There, he’d peck a soft good night kiss.

Karneval, 2013, (13 ep.)
Tumblr media
After surviving an attack from a monster, Nai and Gareki find themself tangled in the long lasting fight between the goverment organization Circus and a mysterious organization that seems its only objective is to create monsters and destory people’s life.
-
Nai and Gareki’s paths cross when Gareki, a thief, rescues the young Nai from the grasps of a rich woman that reveals herself to be a monster. Litterally.
That leads to a series of events that will brings them in contact with the goverment group known as Circus and the discovery that Nai isn’t human at all, but belongs to a rare animal species that can take human form.
We then follow Nai in his search for his friend, Karaku. Who is later revealed to be the head of Kafka, the group responsible for creating the monsters known as Varuga. But their motives aren’t clear at all and the series doesn’t really try to explore them. All discover is that Karaku is also searching for Nai and tries, through the dreamland they share, to sow mistrust towards Gareki in an attempt to convince Nai to run away and come to him.
The series ends with Gareki leaving to train with Circus, but many plots threads and mysteries remain unsolved (possibly explored in the manga).
In the end, it’s the typical one-shot season: it gives you a taste of the plot, but doesn’t elaborate enough for you to care.
With standard animation, even the design are typical, creating the generic anime roster. Nai is the cute and clueless, Gareki is the typical brooding guy that secretly cares too much. Then there’s the one with the glasses, the sunny guy, the cute quiet girl and so forth. I don’t really remember their names nor do I particulary care.
It feels like some parts of the story are missing, scenes or dialogues don’t always flow and the ending was pretty anticlimactic. It’s basically a watered down version of Uragiri.
