{This Charming Man Part 8}
MTMTE Megatron x Reader | SFW
Tumblr media
Word Count 2.3k ao3
You exhale. Then again, slower.
It was nothing. Just a pleasant exchange. Nothing more.
Except, the satisfaction of knowing you entertained him, pleased him, earned that rare reaction—should have ended at that. A small, private victory.
But it doesn’t. It lingers in the way your skin feels too warm, the way your mind replays that half-smile, the way he said goodnight.
Like a glass of water and oil that had been shaken violently, the satisfaction curdled like tiny bubbles of oil reconstituting themselves.
“I can’t believe I was able to pay attention to the whole movie!” Tailgate interjected, reminding you that you weren’t alone.
On a night like this back home you would be driving home purely alone, with nothing but the open road and mixtape in the CD player. A blink of silence with Tailgate was enough to make you forget that the vehicle you were currently a passenger of was a whole other person. Secretly you mourned the peace of driving alone.
“I’m glad you stuck around,” you murmured quietly “next time I’ll pick something animated. Promise.”
Tailgate dropped you off at your door, dithered about wanting to see Cyclonus, and sped off.
You would end the day in satisfying solitude.
---
The bridge was quiet at this hour, save for the occasional murmur of a passing officer. You had decided to head there early to do some writing. You sat tucked away at one of the terminals, fingers poised over the keys, your “report” already well underway. It was, at this point, a self-indulgent habit rather than a duty. Two weeks had passed since the last movie night, in that time there was absolutely zero correspondence from Earth Command.
You had debated rescinding your resignation. Even if something was done about it, it's not like you could even go back to Earth. The Lost Light wasn’t scheduled to return to your solar system for another year, not even your human handlers could force them to drain the quantum engines to turn back.
And if Earth didn’t know that you had become compromised, then there really wasn't any reason to let the command of the Lost Light know either. You’d keep your secrets in the pages of your own digital diary.
Typing away at a surprising pace, your thoughts flowed effortlessly onto the document. Unburdened by the need to uphold professionalism.
Cycle 631, 04: Megatron called me to the docks. I went, no hesitation. I’m beginning to think that’s a problem. He took me beyond the ship. Just a short flight, for the first time I saw the Lost Light from the outside. I don’t know if he meant to give me that sight, or if he simply wanted to see what I would say if we were alone. He spoke of history like it was a wound still splitting open. And then he listened, I believe he listened—as I told him I believed he was trying to mend it. The way he looked at me then… No, I won’t write that down. Cycle 631, 06: I invited him to movie night. I don’t know what I expected, but then he showed up anyway. Honestly I don’t think I really payed the movie much attention. And when it was over, he said— He liked it. That alone would have been enough to send my heart skittering, but then, as he looked at me he smiled. Not a smug asshole smirk, an honest-to-god, genuine attempt at a smile. It wasn’t practiced. It wasn’t perfect. It was just real. I haven’t stopped thinking about it. I don’t think I want to.
You paused before diving into the entry for the present day
Cycle 631, 30: No messages from Earth. No word, no acknowledgment. I should feel lost, unmoored, but instead I feel like my mind has been refocused on being part of the Lost Light. I write these records like they matter, like they’re for someone. But they’re not. They’re just for me.  Megatron has sought me out on occasion lately, for instance the other day. Not on the bridge, not under the guise of duty, but me. He said he was checking on my “health and wellbeing”. And the way he spoke—made me feel like the tepid water between us was finally starting to feel warm. Or at least that's what I think.  I caught myself smiling when he left. Ridiculous. This is getting out of hand. I can’t write his name without my fingers hesitating over the keys. I can’t replay conversations in my head without feeling light. This is nothing. It has to be. At least I can believe my feelings are completely one-sided and at least that feels safe.
Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.
You hit send abruptly.
---
The early hours passed you by as you kept busy. You hoped that you appeared studious while bouncing around the web. Your search queries included academic topics like: Poetry Analysis Techniques, Literature To Impress Your Crush, and Top Rated Alien Romance Novels. Very critical and work-related research.
Bots filtered in and out, submitting reports, and conducting their work. Their mechanical workings created a unique atmosphere of busyness. Until, the typical ambience was interrupted by heavy pedes pounding into the room.
From your place near the secondary console, you could see the tension unfolding—a verbal storm brewing between mechs, their voices rising and falling in clipped, controlled bursts. It wasn’t your business.
Rodimus stood his ground against a senior officer, an Autobot lieutenant. His name didn’t matter—his presence did. He was stationed on the Lost Light from launch, before Megatron’s co-captaincy, and he wore that history like armor.
“You’ve been operating this ship like an experiment,” the mech’s voice edged with frustration. “This was meant to be an expedition, not a political stage. The crew grows restless. And you—” he jabbed a finger in Rodimus’s direction, “—allow too much slack. What is this ship if not a rogue element at this point?”
Rodimus, to his credit, looked exasperated rather than riled. “Sounds like you’re saying I’m the problem,” he quipped, arms crossed. “Which, hey, fair. But unless you’re gunning for my job, I suggest you get to your actual point.”
“My point,” the commander snapped, “is that too many compromises have been made. Too many allowances for distractions, for—” his helm wrenched sideways—directly at you.
You stiffened.
“—for irrelevant personnel.”
The words landed firmly. A clean dismissal.
You weren’t the focus of this discussion, yet suddenly, you were.
Another mech, emboldened by the sentiment, cut in.
“She doesn’t belong here.”
It was said so simply, so carelessly, like you were just another logistical issue to be sorted out.
“Ambassadors don’t have clearance to oversee command-level disputes, like schedules,” the officer continued. “She is not a ranking crew member, nor does she hold authority in any sector of ship operations. At best, she’s a guest. And at worst—” the implication hung there.
Your fingers curled against the edge of the console. Rodimus straightened, clearly about to step in, but he wasn’t fast enough.
The temperature in the room dropped.
“She remains exactly where she is.”
The conversation stopped. The tension in the room froze. Pin drop silence.
Every optic turned toward him.
He was still seated, still composed, but something in his expression was razor-sharp. Megatron’s optics burned like embers beneath the focus of his glare, locking onto the mech who had dared to speak out.
“She is not here by your permission,” Megatron continued, voice dangerously close to a snarl. “And she will not be removed at your whim.”
A beat of silence.
Then, the bot ex-vented sharply, clearly not one to back down. “Megatron, this is a command space. If nothing else, protocol dictates—”
He moved.
It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t violent. But in a single, fluid motion, Megatron stood.
Pedes scraped against the metal floor as he rose to his full height, shoulders squared, every inch of his frame settling into an overwhelming posture.
It was rare for Megatron to throw the weight of his presence into a room like this. He didn’t need to. His authority was written into every part of this ship’s hierarchy. But this—this—was different. He wasn’t asserting command.
He was asserting something else entirely.
Most of the uninvolved mechs resumed their duties, the air of efficiency resumed. The lieutenant shifted uncomfortably but was not ready to back down yet..
“You would bend rules for an organic?” the second mech scoffed. “I thought you, of all people, understood the cost of—”
Megatron moved again.
Faster than you could process, he turned—and in a single, controlled motion, he reached for you.
You barely had a moment to realize he closed the distance towards you.  Before his massive hand closed around you, lifting you with frightening ease. His servos pressed around you with a restraint so deliberate, you could almost mistake it for gentleness.
His claim over you unmistakable as he placed you at his side near the central command console.
Standing beside him, disoriented and heart hammering, you barely registered the way his fingers briefly curled against your frame before pulling away. You swiftly tidied your clothing and appearance before quickly standing at attention with your hands behind your back. It took everything to peel your eyes away from your feet.
Then, his voice—steadier now, but no less sharp:
“You seem confused.”
He turned his optics onto the mechs.
“She is not optional.”
The lieutenant  looked as if he wanted to argue. But there was no space left for it. He exited the bridge.
Megatron had spoken.
And the matter was closed.
The murmurs resumed gradually, like the tide rolling back after a storm. No one addressed what had just happened. Optics darted toward you before quickly returning to their stations. No one wanted to be the one to dwell on it.
You waited. Not immediately, not foolishly, but long enough for their attention to fully drift elsewhere. Then you turned your gaze upward.
Megatron was already watching.
It wasn’t a piercing stare, nor was it the unreadable scrutiny he so often wielded. It was something settled. A silent knowing passed between you, neither of you smiling, it was unmistakable. A look exchanged between allies. Between friends.
You inhaled softly before speaking. “Thank you, Captain.”
His expression didn’t change.
“Am I dismissed?” you asked, voice measured, professional.
A pause. Then, with the same gesture as before, Megatron lifted you once more, lowering you carefully back to the ground. As soon as your feet touched the floor, his hand withdrew, as if the act had never happened at all.
You nodded once, adjusting your stance, ignoring the way your knees wobbled. Then, without another word, you turned and left.
—-
You weren’t sure how you ended up here, tucked away in one of the ship’s quieter observation decks with Megatron standing just a few feet away. Maybe you had wandered. Maybe he had led you here. Either way, the bridge was long behind you, and the lingering weight of all those staring optics had finally peeled off your shoulders.
The silence between you wasn’t strained. Your hands felt a bit too clammy, your body still buzzing with the leftover adrenaline of being claimed so publicly.
“You didn’t have to do that,” you finally said, keeping your voice steady.
Megatron didn’t turn right away. He stood near the massive viewport, arms crossed, watching the endless stretch of space. “Would you rather I had let them dismiss you?”
You huffed, shaking your head. “No, but... Megatron, that wasn’t just asserting authority. That was…” You gestured vaguely, because how the hell were you supposed to put that into words? That was something I don’t know how to name.
He finally looked at you, unreadable as ever, but his optics weren’t hard—not like they had been on the bridge. Whatever fire had been in them earlier had cooled.
“If you do not yet understand,” he said slowly, voice firm, “then let me make it clear.”
His gaze didn’t waver.
“You are not insignificant to me.”
The way he said it—so simple, so matter-of-fact, like it wasn’t even up for debate.
You swallowed, blinking up at him.  Your fingers curled at your sides before you hesitated and—
“…Can you pick me up?”
Megatron blinked. Then, after a moment he ex-vented, bent down on one knee and lowered his hand.
You stepped into his palm, feeling the way his servos adjusted around you as he lifted you effortlessly. His other hand came up, shielding you from the open space, like he was instinctively keeping you protected. It made your stomach do something weird, but you ignored it.
“Closer,” you beckoned.
If he was surprised by the request, he didn’t show it. He brought you to his chest, and you shifted forward, pressing against the broad, solid plating of his frame. Your arms didn’t reach far—couldn’t, really—but you still held him, as much as you were able.
He went very still.
His plating felt warmer here than his servos. Embracing it felt like leaning against a steel door that had been facing the sun– or, well, like a hot car. Soft clicks and hissing tubes could be heard beneath his armor, undercut by a very low thrum.
For a second, you thought maybe you’d overstepped, maybe this was too much, but then his fingers curled ever so slightly around you, holding you in place.
You shut your eyes, exhaling softly. “Thank you.”
Megatron didn’t respond right away. But eventually, you felt something—a shift in the way he held you, the weight of his presence easing just a fraction.
“…You are welcome,” he murmured.
You stayed like that for a little while longer. Just long enough to let it mean something.

SONIC THE TAROT Card Previews #10
Tumblr media
Today's previews are for the Suit of Pentacles' Ace of Pentacles, Two of Pentacles, Three of Pentacles, and Four of Pentacles! See their guidebook entries below, and check out our website for more and our storefront to preorder a copy!
Tumblr media
Ace of Pentacles (Rings)
One of the most prominent tools Sonic and his friends utilize, rings represent new opportunities. In the base sense of the word, these Ace of Pentacles can be used as currency to purchase items—such as those in the Chao Black Market—or otherwise overcome obstacles like the safe found at Casinopolis. Their most useful trait, however, is offering security: as long as someone has at least one ring, they cannot lose a life.
Naturally, a lack of rings and their boons represent the Ace of Pentacles reversed. The Chaotix are always scrounging up ways to make ends meet, leading to Vector (and Charmy) to be quite obsessive with their poor finances. Additionally, any sort of damage sends rings careening away, and having a scarcity of backups may spell certain doom.
The Ace of Pentacles are abundant in many senses and being without is definitely not valuable.
Upright Keywords: abundance, new opportunities, prosperity, security
Reversed Keywords: poor finances, penny-pinching, scarcity, bad outcomes
Tumblr media
Two of Pentacles (Extreme Gear)
As the Two of Pentacles, Extreme Gear are high-speed vehicles designed to defy gravity. Highly adaptable in shape and power, an Extreme Gear racer must use their resourcefulness to manage not only the movements of other racers, but of themselves as well. Races like the World Grand Prix offer particularly skilled racers to win cash prizes, though certain events have not always turned out how they were intended.
The consequences of lacking skill in Extreme Gear racing is most visible when the Two of Pentacles is reversed. The four main attributes an Extreme Gear can have—Dash, Limit, Power, and Cornering—are found in different levels on different vehicles, and not optimizing for the chosen course could very well end in disaster. Additionally, racers lacking in morals may throw the very balance of an Extreme Gear race into question, such as when Wave detonated a bomb she planted on Sonic’s board.
The Two of Pentacles are a master class in balancing strategy and sportsmanship both.
Upright Keywords: adaptability, resourcefulness, strategy, finances
Reversed Keywords: lack of skill, poor optimization, imbalance, wrong priorities
Tumblr media
Three of Pentacles (Tornado)
Sonic’s airplane, the Tornado, is at the center of his and Tails’ synergy. In its role as the Three of Pentacles, a Tails-piloted Tornado has saved Sonic and his friends more than once, such as following the initial destruction of the Death Egg; their mutual survival at the end of each adventure celebrates a job well done. Additionally, the Tornado has occasionally gotten new upgrades implemented into it—such as a mechanical tether for the Master Emerald—as Sonic and Tails sees fit.
When the Three of Pentacles is reversed, however, malfunctions appear. The Tornado is not immune to misalignment or destruction, with the significant damage occurring during the Egg Carrier incident requiring a complete rebuild. Occasionally, either Tails or Sonic operates the Tornado alone: Tails can be spotted during the Little Planet incident, but is too distracted flying to assist Sonic in that day's adventure.
The Three of Pentacles' teamwork makes the dream work, but kinks in its system might hinder that from happening.
Upright Keywords: teamwork, synergy, celebration, implementation
Reversed Keywords: malfunction, misalignment, termination, solo missions
Tumblr media
Four of Pentacles (Death Egg)
An ultimate flying fortress born from Eggman, the Death Egg displays its master’s greed in excess as the Four of Pentacles. Built for the purpose of conquering the planet, it is an extremely well-oiled machine that is the figurehead of Eggman’s control. This colossus did not come cheaply, however: Eggman enslaved countless animals to aid in its creation, corrupting nature in favor of materialism.
The saga of the Death Egg does not last forever, as in the Four of Pentacles reversed. Shot down during the West Side Island incident, Eggman takes several risky maneuvers to restore it, including stealing the Master Emerald from Angel Island. Ultimately, the Death Egg is completely destroyed through the efforts of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, all while freeing those indentured to Eggman.
The Four of Pentacles is power and security personified, but keeping a grip on said control is no easy task.
Upright Keywords: greed, control, hoarding, materialism
Reversed Keywords: out with the old, instability, risk, theft

Here are some of the orders Mr. Trump signed on his first day in office:
Federal Work Force
Freeze federal hiring, except for members of the military or “positions related to immigration enforcement, national security, or public safety.”
Restore a category of federal workers known as Schedule F, which would lack the same job protections enjoyed by career civil servants.
Halt new federal rules from going into effect before Trump administration appointees can review them.
Review the investigative actions of the Biden administration, “to correct past misconduct by the federal government related to the weaponization of law enforcement and the weaponization of the intelligence community.”
Grant top secret security clearances to White House staff without going through traditional vetting procedures.
End remote work policies and order federal workers back to the office full time.
Immigration and the Border
Bar asylum for people newly arriving at the southern border.
Move to end birthright citizenship, which is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment, for the children of undocumented immigrants. The president cannot change the Constitution on his own, so it is not yet clear how Mr. Trump plans to withhold the benefits of citizenship to a group of people born in the United States. Any move is all but certain to be challenged in court.
Suspend the Refugee Admissions Program “until such time as the further entry into the United States of refugees aligns with the interests of the United States.”
Declare migrant crossings along the U.S.-Mexico border to be a national emergency, allowing Mr. Trump to unilaterally unlock federal funding for border wall construction, without approval from Congress, for stricter enforcement efforts.
Resume a policy requiring people seeking asylum to wait in Mexico while an immigration judge considers their cases.
Consider designating cartels as “foreign terrorist organizations.”
Gender and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiatives
Terminate D.E.I. programs across the federal government.
Recognize two sexes: male and female.
Remove protections for transgender people in federal prisons.
Tariffs and Trade
Direct federal agencies to begin an investigation into trade practices, including persistent trade deficits and unfair currency practices, as well as examine flows of migrants and drugs from Canada, China and Mexico to the United States.
Assess China’s compliance with a trade deal Mr. Trump signed in 2020, as well as the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which Trump signed in 2020 to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Order the government to assess the feasibility of creating an “External Revenue Service” to collect tariffs and duties.
Carry out a full review of the U.S. industrial and manufacturing base to assess whether further national security-related tariffs are warranted.
Energy and the Environment
Withdraw the United States from the Paris Agreement, the pact among almost all nations to fight climate change.
Declare a national energy emergency, a first in U.S. history, which could unlock new powers to suspend certain environmental rules or expedite permitting of certain mining projects.
Attempt to reverse Mr. Biden’s ban on offshore drilling for 625 million acres of federal waters.
Begin the repeal of Biden-era regulations on tailpipe pollution from cars and light trucks, which have encouraged automakers to manufacture more electric vehicles.
Roll back energy-efficiency regulations for dishwashers, shower heads and gas stoves.
Open the Alaska wilderness to more oil and gas drilling.
Restart reviews of new export terminals for liquefied natural gas, something the Biden administration had paused.
Halt the leasing of federal waters for offshore wind farms.
Eliminate environmental justice programs across the government, which are aimed at protecting poor communities from excess pollution.
Review all federal regulations that impose an “undue burden” on the development or use of a variety of energy sources, particularly coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear power, hydropower and biofuels.
TikTok ban
Consult federal agencies on any national security risks posed by the social media platform, then “pursue a resolution that protects national security while saving a platform used by 170 million Americans.” Mr. Trump ordered his attorney general not to enforce a law that banned the site for 75 days to give the Trump administration “an opportunity to determine the appropriate course forward.”
Other
Withdraw from the World Health Organization.
Rename Mount Denali and the Gulf of Mexico.
Ensure that states carrying out the death penalty have a “sufficient supply” of lethal injection drugs.
Fly the American flag at full-staff on Monday and on future Inauguration Days.
Implement the Department of Government Efficiency, the Elon Musk-led cost-cutting initiative.
Revoke security clearances for 51 signers of a letter suggesting that the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop could be Russian disinformation.

So far with Trump’s presidency:
He said he would take over Gaza and that Palestinians “should leave,” trying to displace over one million survivors of Israel’s ongoing genocide.
Designate an “invasion across the southern border of the United States,” a move that triggers certain executive branch powers so, Trump says, his Cabinet “shall take appropriate action to repel, repatriate or remove any alien engaged in the invasion.”
Allow U.S. military service members to act as immigration and border enforcement officers as part of Trump’s promised mass deportation program. Trump’s order covers the Ready Reserve and National Guard, military property that could be used as detention space, ground and air transport vehicles and “other logistics services in support of civilian-controlled law enforcement operations.” The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 has historically limited use of military personnel in domestic law enforcement actions. Trump’s orders frame migrant flow as a national security threat, which he reasons justifies his military orders as commander in chief.
Stop refugee arrivals and suspend the U.S. Refugee Admission Program effective Jan. 27, 2025, pending a 90-day review and recommendations from Homeland Security, the State Department and others.
Redefine birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment. A Trump order asserts that a child born in the U.S. is not a citizen if 1) the mother does not have legal immigration status or is in the country legally but only temporarily and 2) the father is not a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. The order forbids U.S. agencies from issuing any document recognizing such a child as a citizen or accept any state document recognizing citizenship.
Prioritize continued construction of a wall and “other barriers” along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Repeal a Biden order requiring planning for the effects of climate change on world migration patterns.
Withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement, which committed nations to pursue policies limiting carbon emissions that cause climate change. The order blocks transfer of U.S. funds previously obligated to the International Climate Finance Plan
Deny a pending U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service request to create an indigenous sacred site within the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
Roll back other Biden era limits or regulations on fossil fuel extraction on federal lands.
Give executive branch departments and agencies 60 days to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion programs, including all “chief diversity officer” jobs, “equity action plans” and “environmental justice” positions. Require departments and agencies to give the White House Office of Management and Budget an accounting of previous DEI efforts, including names of relevant DEI contractors and DEI grant recipients. Terminate a 60-year-old executive order setting anti-discrimination requirements for government agencies and contractors.
Repeal several Biden-era directives on racial and ethnic equity and LGBTQ rights. They included orders intending to ensure equitable distribution of federal money based on the 2020 census; preventing government discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation and specifically encouraging inclusion in school settings; White House educational initiatives for Native Americans, Hispanics and Black Americans; and an order expressly allowing transgender persons to serve in the military.
Require that the U.S. government recognize two genders only – male and female – on passports, visas, Global Entry cards and all other forms and documents, and in all programs and communications.
Mandate that all federal civil rights law and labor law be interpreted and enforced with the understanding that “‘sex’ is not a synonym for and does not include the concept of ‘gender identity.’”
Repeal Biden directives intended to make it easier to enroll in Medicaid services, secure insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act and lower prescription drug costs. The Trump action, however, does not actually repeal the Biden-era $35 monthly cap on insulin, Medicare’s $2,000 annual out-of-pocket cap on prescription drugs or Medicare’s ability to negotiate drug pricing. Those policies remain enforced by federal statutes passed by Congress.
Repeal multiple Biden orders and directives on COVID-19.
Withdraw the U.S. from the World Health Organization, direct the White House Office of Management and Budget to stop future transfers of U.S. money to WHO and order the secretary of state to end negotiations on the WHO Pandemic Agreement.
Direct the attorney general to explore whether 37 federal prisoners who had death sentences commuted to life imprisonment by Biden can be charged and tried with capital crimes in state courts.
Direct the attorney general to “take all necessary and lawful action” to supply states with adequate drugs to carry out lethal injection.
In a symbolic gesture, direct the attorney general to “encourage state attorneys general and district attorneys” to pursue the death penalty in all possible cases.
Attempted to overturn the birthright of Native Americans in the United States.
There is so much more. His presidency is a controversial and tumultuous one, and that is being kind. He is a danger to the sanctity of the American People, and especially to: transgender Americans, Latino-Americans, inmates, disabled Americans, Palestinians, and Native Americans.

Entry #029.3.Supplemental.Demeter
Tumblr media
--Recovered from the Archive of Engagements aboard the Tsiolkovan-- --Official Action Report, originally created 963.M41.-- +The Demeter Campaign:
Shargen Aurastra and newly-promoted Second Captain Samas Tenebra are called upon to mop up remaining traitor presence in the Demeter sector following the War for Pandorax, encountering a Black Legion warband styling itself “The Obsidian Blade” carving out a domain for themselves in the ravaged Avaricum system, led by former Justaerin member Vayxin the Ravager. Tenebra leads a select cadre of forces to defend a critical mechanicum outpost but is forced back by a short-lived but bloody daemon incursion summoned by Dark Apostle Kabrius on the outpost’s upper levels, at the loss of most of Squad Octavian and the company’s attached librarian. The loss atop the manufactorum buys the warband time to reactivate an old Shadowsword within the manufactorum. Determined to ensure such an asset does not make it offworld, Aurastra leads a daring assault on the manufactorum to end Vayxin and his new toy. The battle is fierce, and Aurastra is almost killed when his command vehicle takes a direct hit from the Shadowsword’s main weapon. Despite the long, storied careers of both Aurastra and Vayxin, the battle is decided by youngbloods:
Neophyte Sergeant Trazis, who despite coming under heavy fire had successfully outflanked the Shadowsword, ingressing through a hull breach in the rear to plant a meltabomb on the Volcano Cannon’s primary capacitor bank.
Savant-Initiate Hastel Glademan, who provided air support from the Stormtalon Hurricane Dragon, catching Dark Apostle Kabrius in the open and flattening his position with a barrage of cyclone missiles.
Brother Cosrau Yandin, who followed Aurastra into a direct confrontation with Vayxin the Ravager. Despite losing many battle-brothers and taking a near-fatal wound from the Ravager’s chainfist, Yandin was able to slay the warlord alone, exploiting a breach in his Terminator armour using nothing but a well-placed meltagun shot and a combat knife to Vayxin’s exposed eye.
--Unofficial Interpretation Fragment #3 of 12# (Please Confirm?), derived from tactical data logs recovered from Redeemer-Pattern Land Raider Tvashtar's Fire during subsequent restoration--
"Sable Exact, this is Tvashtar. We are coming to you." Keldek Mormys clipped over the vox channel and spurred the Land Raider forwards. The turret bustle next to him rattled and shook as the tank’s machine spirit assumed direct control of the twin assault cannons. Mormys watched the weapons' target reticles track jerkily across the pict-feed wired directly into his helmet, just one of a dozen sensor inputs feeding into the cocoon-like driver's position high in the vehicle's interior. If he hadn't been controlling the tank though direct nerve impulse, he wouldn't have needed to lift a finger more than an inch off the controls before he'd be touching the glacis plate, such was the tightness of the confines of the position. All the better to allocate space to armour, armament and passengers. In truth, given the potency of the machine spirit within Tvashtar's Fire, he was barely more than a passenger himself. The tank was an old one, with a bombastic, eager character. He could feel it every time the Land Raider’s treads dug into a rise, like a mountain goat scrambling up a spoil heap. According to the stories, it was fully capable of operating fully autonomously when circumstances were particularly dire. It was only the narrow advantages of the organic mind in pattern recognition and data processing that warranted his presence at all. That and the vox link to the battleforce command network that dispersed its constant stream of data packets in clicks and growls directly into his ears. And right now the network was alive with a hashing, maddening overlap of information, The Mechanicus outpost was a slowly growing silhouette on the horizon, a squat monolith of fortified stores and workshops. The nimbus of warplight had crackled into existence around the outpost’s summit at the exact same time the aetheric interference had started filling the vox-channels, but enough of Gygar Octavian’s final broadcast had made it through the hissing static. It was that broadcast that had spurred every Iron Fists asset on the planet to converge on the outpost.
“Captain Aurastra,” Mormys called on the tank’s internal vox. “We have uplink with reconnaissance elements. Glademan and Trazis are joining formation. We shall reach engagement range in six minutes.”
“Noted, Keldek. Maintain flank speed and mark targets as they appear. Please keep the network link open while I inform our comrades.” The captain’s tone was relaxed, as was the tone of the data packets that briefly flashed through Mormys’ perception on their way from the Land Raider’s internal systems to the other vehicles in the formation. Mormys caught a brief snippet of off-network speech in that same tone beneath him in the passenger bay. A rousing speech, no doubt. That was beneficial. Tvashtar’s Fire was used to hosting terminators, not tactical marines, and the unfamiliarity of their cargo was reflected in the machine spirit’s disposition.
Mormys reached for the panel on the communication terminal, to patch into the squad-level vox net and see if First Captain Aurastra was as good as marshalling those of another company as his own. His finger was on the switch when the Land Raider’s external sensors lit up with alarms. Mormys hammered the switch into the on-position and felt the marines in the passenger bay flinch at his interruption.
“Captain, we have a massive thermal signature reading from within the outpost.”
“More information, please, Keldek.”
Mormys strained closer to the pict-screens, flicking through view options, focusing in on the bloom of heat radiating from the lower portion of the outpost. The metres-thick shell of reinforced ferrocrete yielded precious few answers, but there was a horrible sense of familiarity that was starting to creep out of the more organic parts of Mormys’ brain.
“Uncertain, captain, but the readings align with macro-grade weaponry. Will continue to observe.”
“Understood.” There was another click as the Captain plugged directly into the Land Raider’s internal systems, his next words ringing well-beyond the confines of the tank.
“All elements, this is Shargen Aurastra. We have a potential grandis-level threat spooling up in the bowels of that outpost. Make all haste and stay vigilant. If we see it before it sees us, the advantage will be ours.”
The message was met with a flurry of confirmations from the other force elements. Mormys sent  his own brief confirmation and urged Tvashtar’s Fire to go faster, eyes glued to the rattling pict-screens as the tank ground through the remnants of a walled-off courtyard and summitted the lip of a crater.
“Hurricane Dragon to Niveus Exact, this is Glademan!”
The signal spiked almost painfully through Mormys’ senses, thick with static and interference as it shot into the Land Raider’s vox network. He didn’t even hear Aurastra’s response before the signal continued, and Mormys was just about to start work on a scolding reminder about vox-procedures that the pilots of the Fifth Company were in clear need of, before the rest of the signal drove a pulse of shock up his spine.
“I have my sight on the facility. The lower bay doors are open, we have super heavy armour, I repeat, super heavy armour emerging.”
The Land Raider’s momentum carried it down into the crater and up the other side, its machine spirit taking advantage of Mormys’ momentary paralysis to dig its treads in and climb. It was still moving at speed when it reached the crater lip, so it took a few moments for the tank to come to a stop. A few moments that Mormys spent staring at a gargantuan, slab-sided nightmare of riveted metal that had clawed its way from some unholy bowel of the fortified mechanicus outpost and was now rolling straight towards them. In the face of ordinance designed explicitly to fell titans, vox-procedures went out the window. Mormys’ words were heard in the ear of every Iron Fist within ten kilometers as he jammed the tank’s motors into reverse and screamed “SHADOWSWORD!”
It was too late. Keldek Mormys was imparted with the acute sensation of the Land Raider’s glacis plate, rendered red hot by a billion watts of laser energy, peeling back like the lid of a sardine can, before his world became a unitary point of infinite light and heat.

Vault 111
Pre Cryo (visible) Staff.
Security Staff - 5
Scientists - 5
Support Staff - 5
Overseer - 1
Total Staff - 16
Amount of Pip-Boys (visible) - 1
Total Beds (visible, but I doubt they are hiding more in the walls) - 9 (8 in barracks + 1 for overseer) indicative that scientists, security and support slept in shifts, which makes sense considering that the residents were to be monitored hourly.
Staff outside the vault pre-nuke.
Security Staff - 4
Military Personnel - 4 (2 in power armor) within vault fence, 4 + an APC in Sanctuary, total 8,
Post Cryo Corpses in Vault
Scientists - 3
Support Staff - Between 1 & 2, indistinguishable from overseer
Overseer - Between 0 & 1, presumably 1 due to his refusal to open the vault. (Almost definitely the guy pictured below)
Tumblr media
The overseer sealed the security door to the vault exit which meant anyone who wanted to leave would have to go through his loyal band of scientists (who according to the vaults terminals, stayed loyal despite the mutiny of the support and security staff).
Total Staff Casualties in the Vault - 5
Collateral Damage - 12 Civilians
Rebellion
Position of the bullet holes in the walls indicates that neither the overseer nor his loyalists even managed to put up much of a resistance to the Staff rebellion which likely consisted of;
Security Staff - 5
Support Staff - 3-4 depending on whether you believe the overseer is one of the two dead skeletons wearing a plain vault suit (he definitely is (so its just 4)).
Scientists - 2
Total Rebels - 11
Given the lack of further corpses it must be assumed that all 11 rebels successfully escaped, even if not all 11 were actively rebelling they at least left once the fighting was over.
Given the dates on the entries on the security terminal it is reasonable to assume the rebels left the vault some short time after April 23rd 2078, 6 months after the bombs fell, and around the time the vault practically ran out of supplies.
Not entirely clear how they opened vault door, perhaps there was another Pip-Boy that we never see, perhaps they didn't need it somehow, maybe they forced the scientist wearing it to open the door or simply didn't take it off his corpse when they ran the opening sequence.
Outside the Vault
The area immediately surrounding the vault is surrounded by approximately 13 corpses, all of which show no indication of belonging to Vault Tec personnel. Seemingly belonging to civilians trying to gain access to the vault, most wear casual clothes or dresses, some wear nothing at all.
One of the two Vault Tec vans seems to have attempted to drive away but was intercepted by a civilian vehicle, the bodies of the vehicles supposed owners lie beside the van where the Vault Tec security personnel (the only type stationed aboveground when the bombs went off) presumably killed them. The other Vault Tec van was flipped and remains flipped.
Both the vertibird that land as you initially approach the vault and the APC in sanctuary are gone, presumably taking the 8 military personnel stationed around the vault with them, as well as possibly evacuating the 4 Vault Tec security staff, although the only proof for that is the lack of Vault Tec bodies.
What does this analysis tell us?
Evidently we aren't the "sole survivor" of vault 111. Excluding shaun, it looks like there were actually 11 other people that both entered and left the vault. I personally doubt they survived terribly long but who knows?
I seem to recall someone theorising that survivors of Vault 111 founded Covenant, which seems possible I guess.
*Edit, after re-experiancing Covenant's story for the first time in literal years I've come to see this theory as very unlikley as Covenant was apparently formed after the broken mask incident.

Distance and Travel Time from Burlington to Stowe
Burlington is the largest city in Vermont and a common entry point for visitors, especially those flying into Burlington International Airport (BTV). Stowe, a picturesque village located in the Green Mountains, is just about 35 to 40 miles east of Burlington, depending on your route.

Option 1: Burlington VT to Stowe VT Shuttle
One of the most reliable and hassle-free transportation methods is taking a Burlington VT to Stowe VT shuttle. These shuttles are especially popular among travelers heading to ski resorts, hotels, and event destinations.
Benefits of Shuttle Services:

·         Convenient Pickup: Many shuttles offer door-to-door service from the Burlington airport, downtown hotels, or specific pickup points.

Popular Shuttle Providers:

App-Based Convenience: Easy to book and pay through your phone.
Upfront Pricing: No surprises in fare.
Cons:
Unreliable Availability: Especially during off-peak hours or in rural areas.
Surge Pricing: Can significantly increase costs during busy periods.
If you're considering this option, check the app for availability in advance and compare it with shuttle or taxi rates.
Seasonal Considerations
When planning your trip from Burlington VT to Stowe VT, consider the season:
Winter: This is high season in Stowe due to skiing. Roads can be icy, so if you’re driving, make sure your vehicle is winter-ready. Shuttles and taxis may be in higher demand, so book early.
Summer/Fall: The fall foliage draws many tourists. Scenic drives are beautiful, but accommodations and transportation should still be booked ahead.
Spring: Known as "mud season" in Vermont, fewer crowds make for quieter travel, but some rural roads may be in poor condition.
Summary of Transportation Options
Mode of Transport      Cost (One-Way)           Time    Best For
Shuttle $50–$75          1 hr      Budget-friendly, group travel

Upper Mustang Overland Tour
Upper Mustang: Overview
The Upper Mustang is one of the best travel destinations in Nepal. Mustang, one of Nepal’s 77 districts, is a naturally gifted place. Bordering Tibet, it is also known as the Land behind the Mountains. Once a kingdom, it is now part of Nepal and is open to tourists.
Mustang, which is also known as the “Forbidden Kingdom,” was closed off until 1992. However, currently, Mustang offers travelers a mix of culture, adventure, and natural beauty. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks to the east and west, the landscape creates an opening in between the mountains to enter Mustang.
Lo Manthang, the capital of Mustang, is a scenic village located at an elevation of 3840m. The Kora La Border is also close to Lo Manthang, which is another major attraction of the Upper Mustang region.
