Hazbin Hotel Beach Trip! Headcanons ;)

Characters: Charlie, Vaggie, Alastor, Angeldust, Husk, Sir Pentious, Vox, Lucifer, Adam, and Cherri Bomb

A/N: Y'all guess who's already ready for summer to start? These are gonna be my first headcanons, I had so much fun creating them, enjoy <3

Charlie 🐐🫶

The optimistic Princess of Hell loooves going to the beach

Growing up in the sweltering armpit of Hell has caused her to love the heat, but also crave the refreshing coolness of the salty ocean

Has so much fun slashing in the waves and dragging a resistant Vaggie into the water with her

“Come on Vaggie, it will be so FUUNNNNN, ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh”

Brings all sorts of fun toys and trinkets to play with at the beach

Volleyball, beachball, speaker, sand castle buckets and shovels, floaties, and a surf board

Is currently struggling to learn how to surf, but is determined to get good at it

Wears the most extravagant, tropical, neon pink swimsuit

Would definitely start an epic game of Marco Polo with the others

Her competitive nature would cause the game to escalate quickly into a war-like battle

Will be in a good mood for the next couple of days because she is so grateful that she can go to the beach with her friends and experience this mini vacation

Vaggie ❌🥀

Vaggie is very much like a cat in water, she is practically hydrophobic

Has a thick layer of sunscreen, the largest sunglasses and sun hat, and will only stay underneath an umbrella

Stands in the sand with her arms cross refusing to get even a drop of water on her

Is wearing one of those scuba gear under suits, all black stretching down her arms and legs so that if water does get on her it doesn’t actually touch her skin

If someone tries to drag her into the ocean, the ex-angel grounds her feet into the sand, taking a battle stance, and threatens to gouge out their eyes

Unlessss it’s Charlie

For Charlie she will do anything

Despite her disdain for the water, watching Charlie have fun splashing in the waves causes a slight smile to form on her face, cracking her previous resting bitch face

Will go as far as to build sand castles and catch tiny crabs for Charlie so that she can please her

Tries helping her learn how to surf but is also is terrible at it

Alastor 🦌📻

Alastor originally said he wasn’t going to go on this beach trip, yet somehow was found already lying on a beach chair by the time everyone arrived at the beach

Is wearing a Hawaiian T-shirt and red trunks

Brought a mini radio to drown out Charlie’s obnoxiously loud speaker, although ends up being isolated since no one else wants to listen to his old-time corny jazz music

Even though it’s lowkey a vibe

Actually prefers to have this new 50 feet radius of isolation, although Vox sometimes will sneak up on him to kick sand at him

Goes full on Radio Demon mode causing Vox to freeze in fear and slowly back up back to the rest of the group

Doesn’t go into the water and instead spends his time sunbathing to brainstorm evil masterplans like taking over Hell and ruining Vox’s life

Will send his shadows to go check up on the others’ beach adventures but will stick to himself

Also uses this time to practice his singing, specifically to the song “We’ll Meet Again”

Angeldust 🕷️❤️‍🔥

Definitely is using his relaxation time to show off his new, sexy, hot pink thong

Is matching with Cherri and they’re serving cunt

Lies down on the towel in promiscuous poses to catch a certain grey cat’s eyes

Dances and makes choreographies with Cherri and Nifty to Charlie’s music

Snuck alcohol and drugs in that Charlie had to take away for the sake of “One normal vacation trip!”

Was the one who helped Angeldust sneak the alcohol in and argues with Charlie that she can’t take away the alcohol because it’s his

“Charlie I swear to Satan, you better not throw away my supply of alcohol that’s for the hotel” “Then why would you bring it here?” Husk is left dumbfounded and ends up chugging it all down ignoring Charlie’s protests

Drunk Husk tries to play volleyball with the others, ends up stumbling around and falls into the sand after being hit in the face with the ball

Drunk Husk also exposes his jealous nature and after he sees Angel flirting with the hunks he stomps over to drag a whiney Angel back

Sir Pentious 🐍🥚

Treats this trip as if it was a super important team mission, checking up constantly on the others and not resting until everything is perfect

Came to the beach in his blue soldier blazer and refuses to take it off even when swimming in case “a violent battle commences!”

Being a cold-blooded reptile, he ends up sunbathing for hours straight up raw: no sunscreen, no sunglasses, no umbrella or tent, bro is NOT afraid of a little sun

But is very much afraid of his Egg Bois boiling in the sun so as a precaution prior to the trip he engineered a clear cooler to fill with cold water that can drive around the beach kind of like a space rover

“My neeeeww invention called the Ultimate 360 Beach Sssimulator! allowsss for my Egg Boiss to sssee through the plexiglass walls and ssee their ssurroundings while sstimulating the wavessss of the ocean with cold water and hydro jetss! Can rest now that his Egg Bois are guaranteed to not cook in the sun

Being a snake he thinks it’s fun to pretend to be an electric eel and play pranks on the others

Specifically on Cherri

Until she decides to absolutely obliterate him and stomped on him slithering through the water

It hurt but he lowkey was into it 😉

Vox ⚡️📺

The beach is not exactly Vox’s thing, and no one understand why he tagged along on this beach trip

Being an actual TV, he begins to overheat and his screen starts glitching and flashing random colors  (uh oh the TV’s buffering!)

He also can’t be in the water… because he is a LITERAL TV

This is the one time he feels insecure about himself because he is unable to do practically anything at the beach

Put on sunscreen? No, that would mess up his hardwire. Build sandcastles? No, the sand would clog up his cracks. Play volleyball? No, the ball might crack his screen.

At least he looked good, he specifically bought holographic trunks, although he only wore them for 20 minutes because had to leave early

Was so glad to be back in air conditioning and far away from any large body of water

Lucifer 🪽🐤

The King of Hell acts like the most stereotypical tourist at this tropical beach, my god

Is of course wearing a bright red and orange Hawaiian t-shirt with a pink lei hanging around his neck, and came with a digital camera to take photos of the whole experience

Brought a bunch of his rubber duckies to float with him in the ocean

This white as hell angel needs a whole three inch layer of sunscreen all over his body, and brought a whole ass tent which he magically set up in a flash with his “pure angelic poweeer”

Was the most excited to go on this trip and is already freaking out over the fact that there’s a snow cone truck by the shore

“I want to get a large one with Tiger’s Blood and watermelon syrup and—oh Charlie, look, they have a piña colada flavor too!”

It’s obvious Charlie gets her optimism from her father

Is running around the beach trying to do everything he could in the time that they had

Literally so cool, although she ends up nearly drowning everyone and it was at this point that Vox decided to leave

Is matching with Angeldust with her hot pink cunty bikini

Helped sneak in Angel’s flasks and stashed some drugs by hiding them inside her swimsuit bra

Is crazy energetic, has so much energy throughout this entire trip, that even afterwards on the car ride home she is belting songs at the top of her lungs

putting this one low on the list bc it's uncomfortable for him and he didn't like it which is sad. but it's at number 8 not lower bc i instinctively know he was serving cunt here. like i know he looked kinda sexy in it. but he doesn't like it and comfort should always come before fashion imho, hence its low spot on the list. also he didn't even get to wear it out of the closet.......

made the manager cringe but i think it sounds kinda cute in an ugly way. like he could wear this to a barbecue or to the beach or something. i like it when madam hotel puts him in pink.........

it's giving librarian. it's giving tumblr history teacher aesthetic. unfortunately i have a weakness for that kind of outfit so i think it sounds cute. it also sounds comfortable and warm which is important! and the collared button up under a sweater look is always something i enjoy................

NUMBER 5: 4.3 - the habers

we never actually get this one properly described to us which is why it isn't higher on the list. based on the hotel taking on a 70s aesthetic in this episode and the fact that even THINKING about this made the manager cringe kinda fills me with joy bc i know it was ugly and campy as hell. in my heart i know he was so garish and awkward looking and sweaty in this episode and i love it.

NUMBER 4: 4.9 - mr platt

i think this sounds cute sorry miss manager. once again i like it when the hotel puts him in pink outfits. by "coral" im assuming it's a pink/peachy coral type of colour which i think would look cool in combination with black. tidy but a little bit ugly in a way that i enjoy greatly. idk exactly why i like this one as much as i do. but i do.

NUMBER 3: 5.2 - it watches and it smiles

LOVE THIS THANG! underrated episode imo. i love the way this episode combines ominous terror with like, pleasant night time tropical beach vibes. it's rlly good. the description of the lobby boy in this episode is also rlly good. something chunky and very low to the ground that can't move fast but has very very long grabby arms and bulging big eyes and an evil grin........ i love it. sounds very spooky. love it when he's at the window menacing the guy inside. it's easy to get a vague idea of this creature in my head but hard to pin it down to a specific design which i think is intentional, and i rlly like it. very shaped animal. sounds like he might look at little bit silly if you caught him in the daylight perhaps, although that isn't necessarily a bad thing

NUMBER 2: 2.2 - cracker man

sadly we don't get much of a description of cracker man but im putting him high up bc i think he is awesome. bones sticking out everywhere, joints and the wrong angles, all skinny and tall and bulging and swollen and creaking........ love it. i bet he looks so scary. the idea of the monster chasing you being all broken and sad and in pain itself is very compelling. also the body horror side to the cracker man where he's constantly creaking and snapping with every movement is so uncomfortable (in a good way). also as someone with very creaky and sometimes painful joints i can relate to him.

NUMBER 1: 4.5 - robert watson

maybe this sounds underwhelming but hear me out. HEAR ME OUT OK! this is one of the few episodes where the lobby boy is described as wearing the classic red lobby boy uniform, and it's extra shiny and fancy and pretty this time. i think he was physically at his peak of lobby-boy-ness here. the red outfit with the hat and shiny buttons is a classic and it's his most iconic look ever. most people in the fandom including me draw him this way. it might seem boring or generic bc it's so common but to me this outfit is just His Outfit. it's the lobby boy outfit. unbeatable imo. if he was a cartoon character and wore the same outfit every episode i just KNOW it would be this one. it's a classic. i will not be swayed on this.

Part Two of my OL×ACNH headcanons

I actually had a lot of fun and a lot of trouble making this.

So first off I'll explain his lazy boys I chose Zucker and Stitches. First not only is Zucker a giant piece of food but he's also one of the few sea creature villagers (Octopi) in the game. Truly a villager designed for cove. (Besides Sasha who literally Cove if he was a villager imo.)

Now stitches may seem like a bit of a wild ard BUT her me out. Stitches is one of few animals that is based off an object and not really an animal. He's a stuffed bear and he's like the animal crossing embodiment of childhood. His room is filled with gifts from "mom" and because his hobby is play he's constantly running around like a little kid playing with toys and playground equipment you place. If anything stitches would fit most of the our life love interests in my opinion. I feel like it would remind them of Jamie/Franky. HIS FAVORITE SONG IS I LOVE YOU!!! Like he's perfect.

Next up is his Peppy Audie. She was an obvious choice as her house is literally a mini beach vacation and she was made for new horizons so she's a very tropical girl. She looks like she'd be right at home in sunset bird.

Next up his Cranky. Octavian would have been chosen purely because 1. He's an octopus and 2. He's the only cranky design cove liked that fit with his beach/space theme.

Next is his snooty Diana. Diana might also seem like a bit of a wildcard but I chose her mostly for her interior as it's a beach/flowery themed bathroom.

N e x t we have his smug Cephalobot. Cove would love him no doubt about it. He's once again a sea creature, his name is a pun about octopi. hIS HOUSE IS ALSO SPACE THEMED! Another perfect fit he and Cove would be besties.

Now up for his sisterly Faith! Faith is an adorable little koala with flowers and her house is beach themed as well! He'd have no choice but to take her.

Next up is Frobert, he's the closest cove could get to an aquatic like villager that was also a jock. Grew on him like moss to a brick wall.

Finally for his normal gals we have Marina and Ione. Marina is once again a little octopus so he had to choose her to complete the collection. Ione is a star/space/alien themed squirrel once again another obvious choice for our Space Cadet!

It's the B-Man's turn! This is the one I'm most proud of.

First we'll go with obvious choice, His smug Zell. Zell is literally step 3 Baxter I he were an animal. He's a smug, monochrome gazelle what more is there to say?

Next are his Sisterly villagers Muffy and Agnes. I decided to give him two because he's an only child so I feel like he'd really like them. I chose Muffy specifically because she's an alternative queen which is right up Baxter's alley let's be real. I also chose Agnes because she was the only other monochrome sisterly and she's a very sophisticated girl.

Now for his lazy I chose Antonio because he's the only black and white one I could find. He's just a little guy <3.

Next for his peppy girls Piper and Bella . I must repeat myself and say LOOK AT THEM, young Baxter and those two would be besties. Piper and Bella are so bitchy looking (compliment) I love 'em. Also Bella is another alternative queen.

Now up for his lazy Wade! He's a cute penguin with all around good vibes and a solid design.

Up next to bat is his snooty Portia. Portia is not only monochrome by much like Muffy wears a lot of purples! Her design request in the Happy Home DLC is place where she can listen to classical music! All of the snooty's give off mom vibes so I feel like her personality mixed with design would definitely make her a favorite of his.

Now it's Marlo time! His smug villager is a fancy looking hamster who may also be a mafia boss secretly (???) Peak Baxter vibes once again.

Aurora is our final Baxter-brand villager his resident normal. Aurora needs zero explanation I feel, her catchphrase is b-b-baby and the quote on her photo says "Always keep your cool." She's perfect.

Giving Itzy An Album

[my top ten itzy songs]

Okay so, I've been wanting to do this for forever! I'm a really big fan of Itzy, and, like every fan of Itzy, I see SO much unused potential in their music. The members have this ridiculously attention-grabbing presence on their songs, and I just think they would be fantastic rock stars!! (I was there when "Nobody Like You" dropped, and I'll never forget it.) So, through this post, I'll be making my Itzy-rock vision a (sort of) reality.

Album Title: kiss & cry

Concept: Your dad's hazy memories of the 70s. Brightly colored, heavily romanticized, aggressively chill, a tad bit psychedelic!

1. Round & Round -- iiso

I mean, this is a kpop album! So I wanted the album intro to be something that's trippy in a house-music kind of way, on-trend but still blending well with my carefree, psychedelic-rock-inspired vision for this album.

2. WORLDEND -- negoto (TITLE TRACK A)

When I say Itzy are rock stars in my heart, I mean this. I love the members' vocal tones, but so many of their releases don't seem to have any idea at all about what suits them. Negoto, though, has vocals that I find beautiful in the same way I do Itzy's--they're unusual, fascinating, and they bring SO much energy to the table. And that's why I've been dreaming of hearing Itzy on this song for three years now! With a melody like this, already designed to bring the best out of a whiny vocal style, I think Itzy would sound absolutely wonderful. This song is very pop-leaning, and there's just SOOO much energy in that chorus--Itzy deserves a song like this, 100%.

3. Scarlet Begonias - Live at Barton Hall, Cornell... -- The Grateful Dead (PRE-RELEASE)

Yes, I'm going to leave this song exactly as it is, except for adding Itzy's voices to it. Yes, there will be a two-minute sample at the beginning, consisting of The Grateful Dead asking the audience to please take some steps back. (It fills me with joy every single time I listen to this song. You can't make me get rid of it.) Yes, it will be 11 minutes long. (Look, after a release as boilerplate as "Cake", I reserve the right to make this one a little weird! I don't even mind "Cake" as much as most people seem to, but let me have my thing.) With its cheery melodies and humorous youthfulness, I think "Scarlet Begonias" fits Itzy better than you'd expect!

4. Ah Yeah -- Hyolyn

I don't know, this one just felt right! It's light and fluffy and a little strange--that weird distorted instrumental is so Itzy to me! I also love the way rapping & singing kind of overlap, running into each other, in the prechorus. I think the members could really show off their skills in this one! I actually think its vibe fits quite well alongside "Scarlet Begonias", too, despite all the genre (and era) differences!

5. shinkaigyo -- The Back Horn (PROMOTED B-SIDE)

"Ringo" but better. Though a lot of the other songs on this album aren't super dance-y, a choreography to "shinkaigyo" would be KILLER. So much intensity, and that BASSLINE??? I love that this track brings Itzy weirdness to rock, and it also has this really satisfying chorus that, I dare say, we all loved so much about early Itzy tracks like "Wannabe".

6. Love Spell -- GFRIEND (TITLE TRACK B)

Itzy's music tends to lean into these cool-girl personas, with lots of attitude & ad-libs, but I've strayed away for it from most of this album--"Love Spell", though, has that classic Itzy attitude, with some great rock influences, too! (guitar go grrrrrrrr it brings me so much joy)

7. I Know I'm Not Wrong -- Fleetwood Mac

A little silly, a little angsty, with absolutely incessant energy in its instrumental--I can see Itzy having SOOO much fun with this!

8. BEEP BEEP -- Ruann

What's a psychedelic-rock inspired album without some gorgeous tropical house to zone out to? Okay, yeah, this album would probably be fine without it. But like, it fits too well? And after "Bratty", I need more cutesy music from them!

9. Chill -- Chung Ha

Itzy's vocal power that really draws me to them, and I think "Chill" is a perfect song to center that. It's straightforward, with melody lines that are blunt & heavy-hitting--I think it could be pretty easily rearranged into a ballad/soft song that would bring out the best in the Itzy members' vocals.

10. joyrider -- second thoughts

Peak Itzy + guitar agenda--this song is just so much fun?? It's not really a happy song, but it feels just as euphoric as classic Itzy hype tracks are, and I think their vocals have the perfect energy to carry a half-angsty, half-humorous chorus like this one.

11. Stop Making This Hurt -- Bleachers

This track is literally made for screaming karaoke on the highway, and I know Itzy have the energy to do it justice & make it our comfort song of the year.

Indoor Plant Guide

All indoor house plants like some morning bright sun on them, warm soil and TO BE LEFT ALONE AND IN PEACE. They need to be watered, fertilized and, repotted of course, but perhaps less than you think. No plant can survive with 0 sunlight. If you have no windows in your indoor space that you wanna add plants to, I suggest getting grow lights or doing fake plants.

Here is a list I'm working on about indoor house plants; Short, Sweet, Straight-forward.

The plants that go on this list are my personal faves and I recommend. If you have any questions about any of these please let me know about it in the comments. I will be adding and changing the order of these as I see fit.

#1 Pothos

Super easy to grow. Grows vines, you can spread them onto a wall or have them hanging from somewhere up above. Doesn't need lots of direct sunlight. Easy to propagate. Loves to grow big roots in water, water loving plant in general. Don't worry about drowning it (if the pot has drainage. Can tolerate some draught too. Can tolerate darker and colder places. Best plant to start with if you're new to plants. There's many different looks for pothos, there are variegated types with pretty patterns on the leaves for those of you who are into that. -----------------------------------------------------------

#2 PEACE LILYYYYY <3

I found one some years ago IN THE TRASH at the apartment complex we lived in. There were no leaves only stubs :( The soil and roots were so moldy, poor thing. I cleaned her up and now it's one of my biggest plants and it is so lush! Flowers these white rubber flowers that last a real long time. Loves the sun. Can tolerate not having direct sun (might grow slow tho). Prefers a wide bowl-like pot. Loves chugging water every once in a while. Can't do under 4°C, cell walls burst. Loves when people look at her and brush past. Bouncy big leaves. Nice, cool plant. 10/10.

#3 String of Hearts

Grows quickly, likes direct sunlight. Cute skinny vines, looks like little wires with heart shaped leaves. Maybe not for beginners but it isn't very difficult to grow. Easy to propagate in water: Cup with water + A sunny windowsill + Some time undisturbed = Roots and new growth. Got mine for valentine's day for my boyfie (it was actually 4 me).

Sometimes I see these in dark natural light conditions and I'm always amazed at how they can still grow. They can sure take a beating too. (I'm thinking of the countless mall snake plant containers I have seen along the years. Broken pieces, under a ceilings with no skylights or nearby windows.) I have one that is really long and I have to stalk it up or else it flops over. Maybe it's just the kind I have.

#5 Banana Tree

Ok, hear me out. - Big leaf - Vibes - Sculptural - Tropical - Birds of paradise dupe

I have a red banana type in a big black bin (tall round trash bin I drilled some holes underneath). Gotta cut down the leaves some times. Stems are full of water. Likes lots of sun so has to be near a sunny window. Can get real big. It's a tree afterall. No bananas.

K-pop Discography Deep Dives: ATEEZ

ATEEZ was formed in 2018, at the beginning of the 4th gen, with eight members: Yunho, San, Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yeosang, Wooyoung, Mingi, and Jongho. They, like Dreamcatcher, have very in-depth storylines through their songs and especially music videos, and, also like Dreamcatcher, I won’t be going incredibly specific with every comeback’s meaning unless I think it’s vital to understand the song.

Here are my credentials: I’ve been a fan of ATEEZ for about a year or so, after I watched them on Kingdom, and a kind-of (?) ATINY for a few months. I admit that from what I’ve seen, I prefer their older work to their newer work, but so far that’s only true for their titles, and may not be accurate to their b-sides. I haven’t had the chance to listen in-depth to their new albums yet, so I figured that this was a good opportunity.

They debuted with Pirate King, which, though a little unpolished, already has what would become the pillars of ATEEZ’s later work: anti-drops, hard hitting EDM beats, a focus on raps, sharp choreography, and a mix between deeper and higher voices. Though it’s not for me (it takes a lot for me to enjoy this kind of “I’m-so-cool” track), it is admittedly a very good introduction to ATEEZ as a group, and I respect it far more than I respect most other songs in this vein.

Treasure is also a single from this album, and is more minimalistic and more rap-heavy than Pirate King. Rather than the anti-drop of their debut, though, Treasure’s chorus follows through on its build-up and is ultimately far more satisfying for it. It’s still an “I’m-cooler-than-you” track, of course, but at least it’s also a bop. From the EP, Treasure Ep.1: All To Zero, I didn’t have a hidden gem but I enjoyed the rhythm of My Way.

Say My Name is one of the ATEEZ songs that I would say I know best, and distinguishes itself right away with its unique whistling hook and the time it takes to set up its great build-up. It also includes a drumline—though it’s slight—in the pre-chorus, and I really enjoyed how the bridge flows into the last chorus and eventually the outro. I wanted to point out that though I normally would have a problem with the raps, I don’t here, because they honestly fit it quite well and don’t feel like a random digression shoved in to give The Rapper™ something to do.

Hala Hala, the other single from the album, gives me a bit of whiplash, truth to be told. Many of its parts are good, especially the pre-chorus, but together none of those good parts are done justice. From the EP, Treasure Ep.2: Zero To One, my hidden gem was absolutely Promise. It falls more into the dark synth genre, and manages to do something of an anti-drop while subverting the usual stagnation that one usually falls into, creating quite a catchy song.

Wave immediately stands out from the rest of ATEEZ’s discography, not only with its tropical beats and “Hakuna Matata” chorus but also just the general happy vibe that the song’s imbued with. After going through so many dark and serious tracks (with many more to come), Wave is both a very welcome break and a head scratcher, to be honest. I do like the song in isolation—the outro is truly excellent—but I get too distracted by how out of place it is to fully enjoy it.

Illusion, the other single from this album, is also more upbeat than is usual for ATEEZ, and though it’s a bit of a goofy track, truth be told, I’m more than willing to throw up my hands and have a good time. From the EP, Treasure Ep.3: One To All, I enjoyed the high notes and chanty post-chorus of Utopia, the catchiness of the pre-chorus and ethereal quality of Dancing Like Butterfly Wings, and the drumbeats of Aurora. I think this is my favorite EP so far!

Wonderland, like many excellent k-pop tracks, feels like it arrives rather than starts, and though its mostly-English intro is utterly nonsensical, this song is too good not to win me over. At first, you’ll think it’s bound for an anti-drop, and it almost has one, but then it drags itself back from the brink and shuttles forward, managing to combine EDM, a marching band, and a deranged sea shanty together into a concoction so crazy that it works. And that bridge? Gets me pumped every time. I will say that I prefer the Symphony No.9 Version from their “The World: Epilogue” version, which really elevates it.

From the full album, Treasure Ep.FIN: All To Action, while I enjoyed the electro-breakdown and “tell me who are you, who am I?” of Dazzling Light, the great buildup of Win, and the encouragement in Sunrise, my hidden gem was definitely the sentimental, warm, Thank U. Thank U is a song that I have a background with: Hongjoong wrote this for Seonghwa about their friendship, as thanks for his support and a promise to always support him in return. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a sap; give me a cheesy song about friendship and I’m 100% there.

When I mentioned being more of a fan of ATEEZ’ earlier discography, it was really Answer that I was mainly talking about. Since the first time I heard it, it’s never lost its spark for me, and I think it honestly has one of the best builds I’ve seen in a k-pop song. The pre-chorus, then the chorus, then the post-chorus, and finally the vocalizing to cap it off are full on excellent, and I do mean that. Plus, I’ve never been able to resist a “let’s burn it all down” song as long as I’ve been alive, so you better believe that whenever I hear this one, I get the urge to turn up my headphones to ear-splitting levels of loudness and spin in circles.

From the EP, Treasure Epilogue, I loved the return of the sea shanty with a more broken-down and distorted follow through in Horizon (my hidden gem), and the vocal showcase in the softer, more vulnerable Star 1117. I also enjoyed the strings in the outro; ATEEZ should use strings more often.

Inception, as the start of a new series in the “lore”, has a different vibe than the Treasure series. Though there’s still the great build, the EDM, the chanting and the fight-against-the-system messaging, it feels more contemplative and almost…melancholy? It honestly feels a little like one of TXT’s later, moodier title tracks, especially with the more romantic lyrics than are usual for ATEEZ and the climactic vocalizing. I quite like it.

Thanxx, the other single from this album, takes some inspiration from Latin Pop for its beat, and while I don’t dislike this one, it’s very much not for me, being quite rap heavy, veering a bit too close to an anti-drop for my liking, and having an overly-chanty post-chorus. From the EP, Zero: Fever Part 1, I enjoyed the more melodic take on EDM mixed with the acoustic guitar in Good Lil Boy, which was my hidden gem, but also the more ballad-inspired closer in the comforting, all-English One Day At A Time.

Fireworks is, right from the outset, quite heavy on the autotune, to the point where it’s honestly distracting. While I do like the buildup and the chorus is pretty alright, this one just…doesn’t do it for me? I’m not entirely sure why, though the autotune is part of it, but for some reason, no matter how much I want to like it, it’s just not happening. The chanting is catchy, especially in the last chorus, I’ll give it that.

From the EP, Zero: Fever Part 2, though I did like the bubbly synths in Time Of Love, there’s nothing else I could choose as a hidden gem besides Take Me Home. I think that part of the reason I’m so hard on Fireworks is that Take Me Home is quite possibly my favorite song of ATEEZ’ entire discography, and to this day it kills me that it wasn’t a single. Its dark city-pop-meets-jazz is excellent, and the subject of loneliness brings it so much pathos that it made me feel something even before I looked up the words. And that saxophone riff in the outro? Absolute perfection. There’s no beating this one.

Deja Vu is up next, and has quite a smooth, minimalistic instrumental, which I honestly prefer since it seems that the autotune is less over the top here. Though I didn’t really dislike this one either, I just feel like it doesn’t go nearly as far as it could, just kind of marinating in a weird middle ground between average and something more interesting, like the last chorus, which brought much more of an interesting composition. The quiet rap was actually my main highlight here, so congrats, Hongjoong.

From the EP, Zero: Fever Part 3, I enjoyed the catchy pre-choruses and surprisingly upbeat follow-through in Eternal Sunshine, the melodic sing-talk mixed with synths in Feeling Like I Do, and the more vulnerable delivery and stripped-back instrumentals of Not Too Late.

Turbulence returns to the quieter, more contemplative style of Inception, with vulnerable and inspiring lyrics and a gentle acoustic guitar that carries through the track. This song is one that finally gives their vocals time to shine, and I found myself being won over by this one basically right away. I loved the harmonizing and the emotions they carried through their voices, and though it’s a simple track, it’s a very comforting one. I really liked it! I didn’t have a hidden gem from this album, as it's mostly revamps, but I did enjoy the symphony version of Wonderland, as mentioned before.

Guerilla is the start of ATEEZ’ most recent saga, and unfortunately (for me, anyway) embraces the NCT 127 idea of sing-talk-I’m-cooler-than-you in spades. Though the build-up in its pre-chorus, the bridge, and the great vocals in its chorus do put it quite a few steps above that, it’s still not a pleasant experience for my ears, and probably feels a bit harsher than it actually is with how gentle Turbulence was. It’s more of a performance piece than a song, but to give credit where it’s due, it’s a great performance.

From the EP, The World Ep 1: Movement, I think that the thudding EDM of Sector 1 would have made a better title track for how it follows through on its premise and makes better use of the members’ vocals, though it’s still not free of issues. My hidden gem was the synthy Cyberpunk, though, to no one’s surprise; it’s not quite as excellent as Take Me Home but it absolutely comes close. I also enjoyed the build-up of New World.

Halazia, though it’s from a “spin-off” single, is actually the song I enjoy most from this section of their work. Though its use of autotune is still a bit too heavy for my liking, I greatly prefer its somewhat understated feeling and gentler anti-drop after its build-up to the shouty choruses of its peers. Also, I appreciate, again, the vulnerability and frustration its lyrics show, as I can relate much more to its point than the emptiness of the other tracks.

Bouncy (K-Hot Chilli Peppers) had me concerned from the title, and unfortunately, I think that those instincts were right. Again, we have a shouty, empty, “I’m-better-than-you” track with a chorus that overuses autotune, makes absolutely no sense, and of course, just enough good in it to make me hope for more. Again, that pre-chorus is great, but…nope, no pay-off. I cannot stress enough how angry songs like this make me, although I’m aware a lot of that is how they embody all of my pet peeves and not exactly the song’s fault itself. Boy, I’ve got to take a deep breath and calm down. From the EP, The World Ep 2, I enjoyed the “I’m ready for the dark, I’m ready for this world,” hook from This World and the sing-talk-meets-slower synths of Django.

Crazy Form is ATEEZ’ most recent release, and I was hopeful when I didn’t dislike the verse from the outset. Though I’m not the biggest fan of rap, I can appreciate when it’s used well, and the lead-in of it to the pre-chorus was quite good. But then, as I had a feeling would happen, there’s an anti-drop and all that hard work spent building just…falls. Ugh. Come on guys. We were so close! I’m not gonna repeat myself, because my thoughts on this one were pretty similar to Bouncy. I did like this one’s bridge much more, though.

From the album, The World Ep.FIN, I enjoyed the great build-up and post-chorus from We Know, the pulsing synths in Silver Light, the softer acoustics backed with drums in Dreamy Day, and especially Jongho’s breathtaking voice in Everything, since I wish he got more of a chance to use it.

So, I’m glad I did this. Though I didn’t really decide if I’m an ATINY or not, I did still enjoy finding a lot of songs that I’d missed in their work, especially their calmer titles and genre-hopping b-sides, which were a nice surprise! I guess we’ll have to see what the future holds in regards to my fan status, but for now the interviews I’m watching are giving me a good laugh while I type this up, so thanks guys.

My Top 5 songs are Take Me Home, Answer, Turbulence, Cyberpunk, and Wonderland (Symphony No.9 Version), with Not Too Late and Thank U as honorable mentions. ATEEZ gets an 8 out of 10 from me, which is about what I expected. Most of their titles aren’t for me, unfortunately, but they have a lot of good in their b-sides, and the sheer diversity of the styles really worked in their favor. When their excellent build-ups pay off, they’ve made some of my favorite k-pop tracks. But when they don’t, you’re left with something empty.

Just Dance Rewards

Since I’m in the middle of unlocking the rewards of the new season it’s time to evaluate them, because why not. In general, summer vibes aren't for me, so I was hoping for a little more dark awards, but whatever. I find rewards overall charming, and emotes this season are just perfect. However, if I had to rate them overall, they would be like:

season 2 > season 3 = season 1

• Avatars:

Honestly I love all avatars in this season. They are always so good:

→ Savelina, girl, I love you so much, I'll let you hit me as many times as you need! I really love how powerful she looks.

→ The Chatty/Black Bird: both these avatars are total slay, but the darker one is just so cool

→ Felicia - when will be our wedding?? Omg, she's so Aaaaaa!!! Especially after seeing "Bloody Mary" I love this avatar even more

→ Mihaly's new avatar! They look amazing, the best avatar of them so far.

→ Scotty - he's so cute + his photo-taking animation is so unique and sweet

My favorites are definitely Mihaly and Felicia!

• Emotes:

They're all just adorable. This is definitely my favorite season for them.  My favorite is "Goth rules over." & "Here's to summer!". Others are great too, Kulikitaka's emote is very sweet.

• Backgrounds:

"Fresh Town" and "Poolside Luxe" are the prettiest in my opinion. Other backgrounds are not in my taste.

• Badges:

The ice cream one is really sweet, although I think it doesn't fit thematically to the season very well. Even If I know glasses are as an alias, I think it could be a good badge (Referring to Scotty and the "Sacrifice's coach) or maybe vampire fangs/a cat (from "Bloody Mary")? However, If I had to rate all season badges, I would rate them like this:

Season 1 > Season 3 > Season 2

• Aliases:

Just like emotes - literally perfection! Glasses? So cool! I love "Hydrate Yourself" - it's an important message, especially during the heat and physical activities. The "Dance Pool Party" one?? It's a great reference to a very talented member of this amazing community - Dancepool !! Intentional or not, it's a nice thing and if you don't know him, I recommend checking out his channel - he has awesome videos and is an amazing dancer!

• Borders:

For me, they're average this season, but by far the best one is "Digital Summer". Sea borders are cute too!

• Scoring Effects & Victory Celebration:

I'm not a fan of the tropical scoring, but the road trip one??? It's so cool and unique! Victory Celebration is nice tho

Random fun question time!! If you were to give each Amis a pet, what animal would you give them and why?

ooooh EXCELLENT question, here's my answers. Some are die hard headcanons I have and others I just thought of, but all of them are right because I say so

Enjolras- Cat. He's a cat person 100%. He likes them because they're independent and self-sufficient, which is probably a quality he appreciates in people too. But also....they're soft. Lil paws. Slow blink. Also I feel like he had a cat when he was a kid, like a big fancy Persian or something. When he's an adult he adopts from a shelter.

Combeferre- African 👏 Grey 👏 Parrot 👏 Combeferre thinks people don't talk enough about the fact that parrots can literally speak. They fascinate him. So he has an African Grey and he teaches it tricks and phrases and speaks to it like it's human and it's the smartest bird you'll ever meet in your life. Also he taught it to mimic Courfeyrac, its impression is uncanny.

Courfeyrac- oooh he needs a big bouncy dog with as much energy as he has- a Labrador or a Collie or something. He loves big goofy dogs with big smiling grins, and he loves how every time he comes home his doggo is waiting there and is always so excited to see him again, it warms his heart. And he likes to go on jogs with it too.

Jehan- Is Jehan a dog person? No. Is Jehan a cat person? No. Jehan is a lizard person. They have an iguana and they like to put a lead on it and take it on the metro with them lmao. They actually like the amount of work that goes into caring for them, from cleaning the enclosure to the heat lamps to the live bugs they have to feed it. Plus it looks really cool.

Bahorel- everyone knows about my "Bahorel has a Newfoundland dog called Nemo" headcanon by now, it is an absolute classic. Bahorel loves big dogs because they look kind of fearsome and scary but most of the time they are gentle giants, and Bahorel can relate to that. Nemo in particular is the biggest ball of fluff and drool you will ever meet <3

Feuilly- Feuilly likes fish. He has a tank with a few goldfish, because they're low maintenance and nice to look at, but if he had more time he would love to get a tank full of tropical fish, he just thinks they're gorgeous and there's something very serene about watching them glide around the tank

Joly- Cat person Joly is canon so there's that for starters. He likes the easy affection and chilled out personality of cats, and plus he just thinks they're funny. He has lots of photos and videos of his cat doing dumb shit, and hundreds more photos of it just existing because.,,,.,,, so cute. Any time he speaks to anyone he's like Hello Would You Like To See My Son and then boom. Five hundred cat photos. He has a sphynx cat and likes to joke that it reminds him of Bossuet (he thinks he's hilarious- and he's right).

Bossuet- Pet rock because it's the only thing he can keep alive lmao. Ok not really. He likes cats because of osmosis from Joly (he does not look like Joly's cat- He doesn't), but I can also see him with gerbils or hamsters or something similar? I have no real reason for this he just has hamster vibes honestly

Grantaire- Dog guy. Not a purebread, a mixed breed. I feel like he likes dogs that aren't hugely energetic, but he likes the way having a dog forces him to get out of his bed and go for a walk at least once a day. He likes how loyal they are too. I feel like he didn't even try to adopt a dog, one just wandered into his house one day after him and a week later it was still there and he was like "huh. Guess I have a dog now?"

Strawberry jam collab rant <3

I love the strawberry jam collab!!

I am in LOVE with the paint map from the celeste strawberry jam collab. The bus scene,,, lovveee. Inspiring and beautiful. The art was good, music impeccable, and I love when there's some kind of story and plot.

You know what else. That map where Madeline is stealing a jar of jam. That SLAPPEd. Incredible. The music was sooo good, there was just such a lighthearted feel to the level. The art was adorable, and it was hard but not too hard. Loved it.

And then of course the fruit loops level was incredibly fun. First one i played of the map and it was just so nice. the theme was a delightful surprise, the fruit loop bounce mechanics were wonderful, legit felt my heart soar when I first figured it out. The music was on theme and contributed well to the light, fun, tropical feel of the level. Impeccable.

Dropzle was cool and has a very unique concept and vibe. I don't really have much of a mind for puzzles, especially ones where figuring it out step by step isn't the ideal option, so there were times when I found it easier to try to just make the pixel perfect drops. (and one or two times when I just googled the answer. sorry lol) But I felt proud of myself whenever that worked and whenever I actually figured out a puzzle.

I'm not finished with even just the beginner lobby so not much else comes to mind besides the lobby. Which I love the art for. Beautiful. I don't remember how the music is off the top of my head. I do know that I keep getting lost in it and accidentally finding the entrances to the same maps over and over. I know I haven't found them all! Where are the rest of them! AAAA!

Anyway, I love the strawberry jam collab and it's so cool that so many people were able to come together to make something so cool.

At first, I failed to understand you. You always seemed to stand out from the usual crowd while also being like a typical girl next door.
