Dragon Ball prompt: Videl x Erasa; Videl training in the Gravity Chamber to push her physical limits, her heart beating faster and faster, harder and harder, causing Erasa to worry about Videl's health.

Okay, I don't usually do this, at best I fill up prompts from a list, but... Well, this is the first time that someone who's not a close friend asks me, and I wanted something to do, so why not?

You didn't specific if you wanted it to be romantic, so I went for a "shippable but not blatantly so" dynamics, hope you like it!

"Can't you stop her?" Erasa asked, her voice shaking almost as much as her hands on the cup of tea she had been given.

Bulma smiled at her. The woman had the slightly condescending look of someone who's been there, done that way too many times.

"I'm afraid not. I can recognise when it's a lost cause, with these people." she said, looking down at her mysterious sheets. Erasa had tried to take a peek, to focus on something that wasn't Videl trying to get herself killed, but it had been no use: she wasn't as dumb as many people thought she was, but the level of maths Bulma was using was way out of her reach. Erasa deliriously wondered whether she was human or a robot.

"Her heart rate is too high." she tentatively said, looking at the freakishly high numbers on the monitor. Bulma bent over her to examine them.

"180 is average, when under that kind of effort."

"But this doesn't mean that it's healthy!" Erasa protested, hating the trembling of her own voice. She wanted to sound adult, not a whiny kid who's afraid of a rollercoaster ride. But yet, here she was, alone with the most intimidating woman she'd ever met, at the verge of tears and terrified by the idea that her friend was going to be seriously injured.

"Listen." Bulma said, taking off her glasses and folding them with care, "Gohan said that Videl is prone to push herself to the extreme. But I've been supervising... Um... Athletes... In the gravity room for a while. I know when and how to force a stop to it, but this is not the time. And..." Bulma hesitated.

"What?" Erasa spat out.

"Have you considered that she may need this?"

"Who could ever need to get a stroke from too much training?!" Erasa sprang up from her chair, too worried and too nervous to stay still. She paced back and forth into the cramped control room, "My, you're all insane!"

Bulma opened her mouth to reply, but the heart monitor chose that very moment to start ringing. The screen was red, and when Erasa saw Videl lying on the floor she had to bite her tongue not to faint as well.

"The heart rate is going down to normal." Bulma said with an unfazed smile. Erasa tried not to jump at her throat.

"She passed out!" she protested.

"I know."

"What if she's hurt? Bleeding inside, or... Or... I don't know!"

"The Senzu will fix it, you don't have to worry."

"The what?" Bulma nodded at the camera sceeen. Gohan was kneeling over Videl. Erasa couldn't see what he was doing, but not a minute later Videl was sitting up.

She took a shaky sigh of relief as Gohan gently led her outside the gravity room.

"Will you ever stop making me worry?" Erasa asked, not daring to pick up her spoon. The ice-cream was slowly melting in her cup, but she didn't want Videl to see how much her hands were trembling.

"I can't promise that..." Videl muttered, her mouth full with ice-cream.

"Videl, please." Erasa begged her. Videl put down her spoon and took a deep breath.

"Erasa. When the shit hit the fan, a month ago... I was helpless. I couldn't do anything."

"So what? It's not like... Like the world's on your shoulders! Why can't you just... Stay back and let those dudes take care of threats?" Erasa slammed her fists on the table and let out a frustrated "Goddammit!" as her eyes filled with tears.

The people in the parlor had turned to stare at them, and Erasa saw Videl flash them with an apologetic smile.

"Erasa." she gently said, putting her hand on her clutched fist, "I can't. I'm sorry, but I can't... I can't stand not being able to protect the people I love. To protect you."

"Videl, you..."

"I promise I'll take it slower, okay? Just... Just let me be able to protect you. Deal?"

Erasa didn't answer, but Videl stood her ground firmly. She kept her hand on Erasa's, gently caressing her wrist with her fingertips. The tension slowly vanished.

"Deal." Erasa eventually sighed, and Videl smiled. Erasa collected her spoon and pointed it at her: "But if you faint another time while training, I swear I'll beat you up!" she promised.

Videl let out a giggle and agreed: "Alright."

Chi-Chi really looked at the biggest himbo alive and said "oh yeah, that's marriage material right there" and meant it. Gohan was such a nerd that Videl was still forced to give him a wedgie on their wedding day. Bulma wound up adopting Vegeta like a feral stray cat she fed once and then he wouldn't leave, and proceeded to dress him up and post photos on social media while he complained loudly. Krillin really looked at 18, heard all the stories of what she did in Trunks' timeline, and said "I can fix her". And did. Iconic.
