back when it was j her n her older sister ( when she was like 3 ), their lil family of 4 could still afford to go to trips overseas so rue was a pretty young traveller!! her favourite memories are of disneyland in japan!!

but as her lil sibs started popping out budget started gettin tight so overseas trips were p much non-existent n rue got hella sad ab all of it

anw bein the kid that she is she’s sorta forced to ~ moves on ~ n continue w her life, but as a kid she legit is one of the most non-spectacular students ever : ) she’s not gettin Fs but yknow,, it’s close,, solid D student except that one time she got a B in english that was fun,,

fun fact at night she alw loves looking at the stars and watching the airplanes go by bc she lives somewhat near the airport!! n that’s kinda when she started aspiring to b a flight attendant!!

applies 2 b a flight attendant once she’s out of high school!! she manages to get in and trains to b a flight attendant for ab ~1 year? also rlly starts working on her english n tries to learn some european languages too!! this is mostly to bolster her resume bc flight attendants typically travel one route predominantly, n she was gunnin for anywhere in europe bc it had the most Aesthetic countries all connected by a fast train : )

she works her way up for ~2 years and eventually goes from domestic flights to flying internationally to europe!! super happy ab everything n thinks she’s found Her Purpose in life

but eventually like Everything in rue’s life, she starts gettin,,, really bored of flying the same route all the time and at this point she’s visited all the european countries three times over 😩✋ experiences her midlife crisis at 24 yeah it’s Tragique

anw back to her normal route bc it’s impt!! sometimes she transits in south korea n rue is like,, Hella friendly to the passengers so at some point she picks up some simple korean phrases!! eventually learns the language w conversational fluency bc of the many times she transits there and from the times she’s been in south korea she’s honestly rlly liked it!! it’s a whole different vibe from the european countries she’s been to n honestly,, rue is That Bitch who alw goes for the next shiny thing

so anw during one of her routes she starts up a conversation w a passenger while she’s out dishing drinks n that passenger happens to be @sncwbored​!! they bump into each other again while lining up for a quick snack @ the airport’s mcdonalds n word comes out ab this cute quaint place called maehwa!!

rue starts thinkin ab it more n on a whim, decides to quit her job and move to maehwa!!!

n now she’s here : ) 

personality-wise rue is rlly adaptable but also rlly bad w finances like she’s a hand to mouth sorta gal so rn she’s uhh,,, lookin for some work to fund her next holiday n move out of maehwa someone give the girl a job

throughout this whole intro it’s rlly j ab what she wants n how bored she is n ab no one else bc rue is literally,,, sorta flighty n an unintentional asshole bc she rlly only thinks ab what she wants n what brings Her enjoyment n happiness like ,,, she loves her family but also she loves herself more ja feel

your attitude on dash really makes or breaks for me whether i want to stick around for the long run. like, seriously, you could be the slowest writer but if you treat your mutuals with respect and genuine care, i will be MORE than happy to wait. on the other hand, i've met people who are very quick responders but their attitude on dash and in dms leaves...little to be envious of 🙃

am i the only one who like...actually reads threads that my mutuals have with one another? like i understand the whole wanting to give privacy...but ALSO they’re stories...more content for characters and portrayals i’ve become attached to :D honestly, i would just be flattered if someone was reading my threads ( that didn’t involve them ) for fun :D

i feel like a lot people forget that rp is a SOCIAL ACTIVITY...meaning when you’re writing a thread with someone or plotting or anything else on this hellsite, you’re usually doing it in conjunction with another individual...it’s not a one-person show, people don’t like to feel like their characters are being used to make the other partner’s muse look good. think of it like conversations...a good conversation puts both individuals in the spotlight. one-sided conversations end quicker and usually don’t have both parties coming back for more.

and on that note, another thing i feel like A LOT of ppl forget is that rp writing partners, when you plot with them and writing with them....that’s a relationship. a relationship that both parties have put effort into building ( and hopefully it’s a friendship, however distant ). you can’t just throw them away casually!! this is the main reason i can’t stand ghosters. like of course if it’s with casual mutuals, unfollowing/softblocking is fine!! but if it’s a partner you’ve plotted with extensively/chatted with ooc wise, i think they are owed at least a notice that you don’t want to write with them....you don’t even have to explain yourself, just say you don’t want to write anymore!! it’s okay if you don’t want to write with them anymore, what’s not okay is ditching them without any communication...that’s mean and full offense, it tells me that person is not mature enough to communicate their needs and quite frankly, selfish.

and one more for the road:

i feel like the rpc talks a lot about passive replies, but can we also talk about passive partners in plotting? or just self-centered partners in the plotting process?? those two are terrible individuals to plot with....for one thing it sucks the joy out of the process if a. one person is not pulling their weight in giving their ideas to the plot/dynamic, but also b. one person talks exclusively about their own muse and doesn’t show curiosity for their partner’s muse....plotting is supposed to be more casual which also means there’s no excuse in not asking questions and just...being interested in the other person’s muse as much as your own?? basically this is the also the reason that while while i adore plotting, i also tend to be selective with who i plot with :/

queenie goldstein took him in and basically adopted him bC his birth mother was v v close friends to queenie almost like her daughter or smthn im not good at time periods 

he’s a half blood. his mother was a witch and his father is a muggle but it freaked his dad out a lot ??? so his mom wiped his memory so he wouldn’t.,,,. kno.,.,., and then his mother died during childbirth ::((( and then he was taken in by queenie !!

he attended ilvermorny as a THUNDERBIRD for like 5 years. there was this one awkward year where he convinced queenie to let him attend a muggle school bc he was like ‘woah it would be so cool bc im out here in a secret world but what about the world right in front of me?’ needless to say hE HATED IT !! sophomore year in high school was trash.,,. all the classes sucked except for physical education. that’s also when he got into baseball and football??? he also went to prom bc he’s v charming and persuasive but other than that he had a trash time and went back to ilvermorny without leaving a note to any friends he made #ghoster

he once.,,. literally had someone help him fake his death to get out of taking some exams but he also didnt think it through bc two days later he was in class ALIVE AND HEALTHY 

he’s currently 18 and will turn 19 bc he was held back at ilvermorny because of his year with the muggles ( and btw he literally got a D in every class basically )
