- What the heck are Banshee Blossoms?

Glad you asked, my fine friend! They're a fictional flower I made up based on these pretty little blooms on the roof of the mansion!

(Don't mind the fire. Luigi is totally fine.)

Here's my silly little doodled rendition for reference!

Banshee Blossoms are symbols of love, romantic and platonic, even familial! There's a tradition in the Boo Kingdom where you give one to someone you care about. They're said to bless whomever is gifted one with good luck and a happy relationship for the rest of their lives into their afterlife! Theyre pale white flowers that glow like moonlight with purple foliage.

They only bloom in the month of March, so now is the best time to come and view them!

- What's this event all about?

This event is tailor made for those of you who selfship or self insert as well as anyone who has Luigi's Mansion ocs! You're all welcome to attend! I'll be hosting it along with my darling husband King Boo 💕

It's just a small, relaxed event for everyone to have fun with whether you're an artist or not.

The general thing you can do is go around to your friends' ask boxes and leave them Banshee Blossoms should you feel so inclined. But we also have... Prompts!

That's right! Prompts. You're a great listener!

The event runs from March 15th - March 17th, and throughout those days, you, dear listener, will have two prompts to choose from with which you may create things with! Think of them as themed projects? You can choose one or do both if you're feeling it!

The regular prompts will be:

15th - Arrival / Meeting

(Your arrival at the ball, or you meeting someone at the ball!)

16th - Grudges / Spinoffs

(Getting out any grudges before the party begins, or thinking of your self insert/ship/oc in the context of a Mario series spinoff like Mario Kart or Mario Golf ect.)

17th - Party / Comfort

(How you would be enjoying the party, or perhaps reviving comfort from somebody or something.)

Along with our regular prompts, we will also have musical ones for those of you who are music autistics with melodies in your heart like me.

Ok, so I love music and books!

Of all broad genres of entertainment media, music is probably what I follow least closely. It’s not that I don’t like it; I just am always behind the curve in my tastes. I love listening to most confessional singer/songwriters. I love folk, rock, pop, and rap. I also get a lot of music I like from the background of media like TV, Movies, and podcasts. In general, I love confessional singer-songwriters from any genre.

Fave singers (and the albums I’d recommend from them: songs I’d recommend from that album [notes]):

Jem (Finally Woken: Come on Closer, Falling for You, Just a Ride). All songs on this album rock, to me.

Sheryl Crow (Sheryl Crow: A Change Would Do You Good, [about choosing love over anger and stopping gun violence], Redemption Day [about the Bosnian war], Maybe Angels [could be about aliens or being in a cult idk but it’s a good song about misplaced belief] I love every song on this album tbh. Wall-to-wall bangers.

Missy Elliot (Under Construction: Gossip Folks, Work it)

Suzanne Vega (99.9 F: 99.9 F, Blood Makes Noise, Rock in the Pocket, When Heroes Go Down)

1. Art programs you have but don't use: MS Paint, Blender, I used to have WAY more like this one painting [like actual paint] program.

2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even): Left is easiest, Right is in the middle, and forward is the hardest of those three for me.

3. What ideas come from when you were little: I was fascinated by G/T from like. 3 years old. I blame Super Mario Land 2 LMAO

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw: Handheld, perspective, monsters/creatures, and massive scale

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself: Uhhh probably about 50/50? A lot of things I draw are spoilers, shitposts, and other study art I don't bother sharing.

6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it): Not that I can think of? My art doesn't get analyzed super often. I think people think I study anime more than I do.

7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate: Charcoal, watercolors, sculpture, oil pastels, acrylic, copic markers

8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in: Originally I was going to make an AMV with my two characters, Nonny and Felicia, to the song 'shut up and dance with me'. These two aren't active OCs anymore, and the project was WAY too ambitious for my skill level 9 years ago lmao.

9. What are your file name conventions: 1: Name of song I listened to on loop while drawing. 2: An inside joke. 3: Literal rep of what's on the canvas like 'Hema doodles Aug 2023'.

10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw: Body suits, capes, scarves

11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what: TONS. My fave lyrical music, videogame soundtracks, sometimes just ambiance if I'm overwhelmed. Usually tho it's the same song on loop till I get the inspired piece out of my system.

12. Easiest part of body to draw: Eyes!

13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing: A lot of NSFW artists who I won't list here LMAO. I don't go to that school, but their art skills are top-notch.

14. Any favorite motifs: Mirrors, doppelgangers, leaving 1 eye absent for emotional effect, feathers/wings, falling, sinking into water, eyes, dark palettes with bright accents/light sources, glowing eyes, flowing hair, size difference/scale, fucked up version of self vs real version

15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth): Starbucks, home, parks if I'm feelin spicy, anywhere I take my tablet for the day.

16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing: A lot of my niche/kink stuff tends to get pretty dredge-y for me. I may be good at it, but it's not where my passion lies. That's in animation, fantasy, dramatic stuff, storytelling, etc.

17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what: Water or Snapple for the drink, milk if it's bedtime so I can settle down, and then usually the snacks are just whatever my lunch is for the day since we don't have a table.

18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken: Not many! Less than $100 I'd say. I'm very careful with my supplies, and I don't believe I've ever broken a tablet. The worst I've done was I busted 1 or 2 cheap tablet pens with stupidity.

19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.): Definitely nature. Tree trunks and swirls therein, flowers, grass.

20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy: Humans! Not that it's an 'everyone' thing, I just run in some furry circles where human artists are a rarity. Eyes, too. Some people find expressions rly hard.

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways: Uhhh man damn, I don't follow a lot of art styles that aren't something I took inspo from? But I guess Wolf Walkers is my biggest one.

22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any: Sooometimes I stretch, but I don't do it nearly often enough.

23. Do you use different layer modes: Yep! My most common ones are Multiply, Glow Dodge, Add, Add Glow, Overlay, Pin Light, and Color.

24. Do your references include stock images: Absolutely! Reference is important.

25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by: Not much! Most of my inspirations are pretty clear-cut and strong. Avatar, SU, Disney, Dreamworks, FMA, some Warner Brothers' movies, etc.

26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended: God, so, the G/T gif of mine that makes the rounds a lot? The one where VT finds someone small and it's their POV and he helps them and puts them in his shirt pocket??? Most people were completely normal about that post. But then there's one chuckle-head who was calling it pocket-vore, and I wanted to scream. I even chastised them like 'hey uh, no. That's not what this is.' and they argued back with 'well it's up to the eye of the beholder more than your opinion.' and I was like 'UH NO. I MADE THIS. MY OPINION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR WEIRD ONE???' I've also RAAARELY had people call my characters underaged when they're all well over 21, so those are always gross/wild LMAO.

27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with: Sometimes! I usually do an anatomy study, brush stroke warm-ups, or just doodle something personal first.

28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines): I think Multi Animator Projects [MAPS] would count here! I was part of Starclan's Chosen, Change Your Mind [Brambleclaw], Levitating, Family of Me [fallenleaves], Goosebumps Warriors MAP, Pay No Mind MEP, LA Devotee [never finished], White Rabbit, and Fear Garden! 29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically: Not much! Pretty much everything I love inspires me artistically. I guess some anime styles?

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated: Pretty much any of my animations. But I only feel that way cuz they take THE MOST dedication and work time. Also kiiiinda my writing? But a lot of people have trouble getting people to respond to literature, so.

Soemthing very interesting I noticed about the BFDI and II fandoms is something I like to call “The Shipping Square”, and I don’t mean a love triangle, as there isn’t really any romance in either of these two shows, but more so 4 specific characters that fandoms are drawn towards when it comes to shipping. It’s something that I can only explain visually, so I will.

While not exactly the same (I’ve seen way more people make Test Tube and Paintbrush content than Leafy and Coiny content) the idea’s still there. It’s still way more prevalent in the ii fandom since those 4 are actually on a team together, it still applies to BFDI too.

Of course, many somewhat ships with these characters exist out of these shipping squares (in ii there’s Silver Spoon x Paintbrush and Cabby x Test Tube, for instance, and in BFDI there’s Flower x Leafy), the ones in these squares are most popular, not just for the character but in the fandoms themselves, which is very interesting to me.

I don’t really have a point to make with this it’s just food for thought

"Long have I been a fan of Pixel Art! A style of art that seems to represent our Geek Culture ​more than any other art form I have ever seen. In this post here I explained that I used to be fascinated with drawing top/down fictional houses and ships as a young girl (I have no idea why Ships were a thing). The very notion of being able to glance in to a made-up world that I had created. I decided on which room was placed where. I decided how much colour to add and how many people I placed in my drawings. I guess my geeky tendencies started from a very early age. Needless to say, my drawings were absolutely shocking, I had no sense of scale and I could not keep my felt tip in the lines to save my life! I guess you could say I retired from drawing at the age of four and it was time to leave it to the professionals!"

"Fast forward to 2016 and I had started to see some mind blowing pixel art spring up online. Pixel Art that was designed within an Isometric framework. Add in some seriously geeky contents and I was hooked. Who was responsible for such a feat? This led me to discovering Army of Trolls! A man by the name of Gary was behind such amazing creations. I Want You by Savage Garden

Summary: Josuke's new friends soon discover a little something while hanging out in your house one friday afternoon. Sure, Josuke's eyes shone their brightest when you were close to him, but Okuyasu and Koichi never knew you reciprocated Josuke's repressed crush until you took Josuke's hand and made him dance with you.

Warnings: none

God, the way his heart was about to burst with love everytime Josuke saw you enjoy yourself. The way your lips curved in a dazzling smile was his weakness. The world seemed to stop and fade away whenever his eyes looked at that beautiful smile of yours. It was particularly ecstatic when your smile spread across your fave because of something he did or said.

He was absolutely smitten, and he completely forgot of his other friends there, hanging out in the livingroom in his house, ready to playvideogames.

"No! Dont you dare change the channel, Okuyasu!" You squealed after your friend had turned on the TV ready to play videogames.

"Weren't we gonna play Mario Kart?!" Okuyasu yelled back noticing how the TV had turned on in skme music channel

"But I adore this song!" You said standing up. "Please? Lets just hear it and then you can change channels!" Okuyasu rolled his eyes at you, sighing loudly.

"Okay fine!" As soon as he spoke, you let put a high pitched noise in celebration.

Koichi laughed as Okuyasu looked at the TV intrigued as to what was more important than playing videogames. He didn't know this song, but clearly you did as you sang in a low coice and were dancing softly, containing yourself since you had recently met Okuyasu and Koichi and still felt a bit shy around them.

You caught Josuke staring at you dreamily as you danced and you pointed your finger at him, palm facing upwards and curling your finger.

"Come stand a little bit closer" You sang, winking at Josuke "Breath in and get a bit higher"

Josuke giggled and stood up from the couch and walked towards you. You stretched your hand at him, as he sang along with you.

"You'll never know what hit you, when I get to you" The both of you sang.

Josuke held your hand, spinning you around as the chorus began and the both of you started dancing and singing together. Suddenly forgetting Okuyasu and Koichi were there.  Lost in each other's eyes and smiles, as you enjoyed yourselves.

The sweet stares you exchanged, and innocent laughs painted the room in rose pink shades as Koichi and Okuyasu gave knowing glares to each other.

They knew Josuke was head over hills for you. The way his eyes shone whenever he saw you, how he became oblivious of his surroundings as soon as you were next to him. How he somehow managed to bring you up during casual conversation with anyone else. God, was this boy was a lost cause.

And Koichi and Okuyasu always wondered if you reciprocated his feelings. The both of them had just met Josuke not so long ago, and they were still in the process of knowing you. And so far, you looked enthusiastic and light hearted, just like Josuke. Your eyes had a natural shine to them but they never knew if the way your eyes lit up was always like that or just because you were hanging out with Josuke.

But to be fair, most of the time you were with him. You two were pretty much inseparable. And apparently it had been like that since you were kids.

However, right now it became crystal clear, and very frustrating for the both of them. The tenderness, the light blush on your cheeks, the way you eyes seemed to melt and the sweetness dripping from your voice when you giggled Josuke's name between verses.

When the song ended, you were still holding Josuke's hand in yours, the both of you still gazing into each other as you caught your breaths from all the dancing and singing. Koichi and Okuyaso looked at the both of you as you two became aware of your surroundings once more.

Josuke squealed excitedly as his brain quickly registered the sing that came after. He grabbed you by the shoulders, shaking you, and m.jmumbling.

"Oh my god, oh my god" He whispered.

"I know! I know!" You chuckled wrapping your arms around his waist.

"Okuyasu! Can we listen to this song too?" Josuke glanced at Okuyasu with puppy eyes.

"Oh, for fucks sake" Okuyasu chuckled.

"Its Kiss! I love this song!" Josuke said breaking the hug and holding your hand once more.

"Prince is Josuke's favorite artist!" You said out loud, throwing the fact in the air for Koichi and Okuyasu.

"I love him!" Josuke cheered, looking back at you briefly before looking back at his friend."Last song? Please?"

Okuyasu felt rather amused by Josukes pleading eyes, and laughed softly at how ridiculous he looked.

"Okay fine! Last song, okay?" Okuyasu said as Koichi giggled.

"Yes!" Josuke and you shouted and immediately started dancing once more, the both of you quickly getting a hold of the lyrics and singing together.

Koichi and Okuyasu exchanged stares once more. Oh, how they were wating for Josuke to be alone to tell him that you were as in love with him as he was with you.

This is originally an ask game that’s making the rounds here on Tumblr, but in this blog of course I answer everything. Quarantine Ask Game; questions by ghostly-nblm What’s your go-to snack? I haven’t really have one throughout this lockdown. I just snack on whatever’s available in our pantry - usually we have potato chips, salted egg chips, nuts, etc. And then sometimes my dad will whip up something for us himself, like wicked Oreos, churros, corndogs, and chocolate chip cookies. What’s a movie you could watch over and over? I could probably watch The Proposal everyday for the rest of my life and I doubt you’ll hear a complaint out of me. It’s just so funny, so lighthearted, and the entire cast meshes very well together. Favorite show to binge? Again when it comes to comfort shows/movies, I pick the lighthearted ones because they get me to relax and laugh a lot. That said, my favorite show to binge would be Friends. I recently started binge-watching it again and it feels good to come back to it after several months of not seeing an episode. 5 songs that make you want to dance? Shut Up And Dance - Walk the Moon Cinnamon - Hayley Williams Don’t Start Now - Dua Lipa Caught in the Middle - Paramore 7/11 - Beyoncé So, basically, Top 40 shit because it’s that genre that produces the most dance-y songs anyway. 5 songs that make you feel less lonely? I don’t know if I’ve ever turned to music to feel less lonely...I never really seek out that particular feeling. If anything, I listen to certain songs because I feel alone and I would want it to stay that way for the meantime.

When I start earning my own money I swear I’ll start experimenting with ingredients in the kitchen. You heard it here first. My family, I guess. “The most” is really pushing it though; I don’t talk a lot these days and it’s been difficult for me to sustain a conversation and not drain my battery in the middle of it. At the early early phase of the lockdown I played Mario Kart 8 on the Switch all day long. Then for some reason I stopped and I haven’t played since like April. I haven’t played other video games. Favorite podcasts? Ear Biscuits. Andi has also started their own podcast and it debuted like a week ago; it looks extremely promising, but I’m super behind since I’ve deleted all my socials. I’ll catch up once I’m in the right state of mind and am feeling better enough to come back on my accounts. Favorite YouTubers? The main channels I watch are Good Mythical Morning and The Try Guys. But throughout the quarantine sooooooo many local celebrities have started their own vlog channels and majority of them are super fun to watch. My faves would be Andi Manzano’s, Manny Pacquiao’s daughter Mary’s, and Bea Alonzo’s. Wake up time? These days I try to be out of bed by 8:30 so I can sufficiently prepare and clean up for work, but early on in the lockdown I liked staying up all night and then waking up at like 9 or 10 AM. Sleep time? Anywhere from 10 PM to 1 AM. If you could go anywhere right now where would it be? I’d be in Sagada, vacationing by myself and doing some hiking, spelunking, reflecting, and soul-searching. I wish I can go back there someday; I just reallllly need to be out of the house and out of the city for a while.

What’s a change you want to keep when self isolation is over? There is nothing I wish to keep from this quarantine. It turned my entire life around and I wish I had all the things I had before it instead. Have you learned something? Yeah. Some of them the hard way. Any new skills? I took up a course on marketing last month so that was a lot of fun. Hobby-wise, I’ve been thinking of getting into cross-stitching so I can’t wait to buy my own kit and start with that. I’m also learning a lot of new and super helpful skills at work, like coming up with PR tactics/executions, knowing what will work for a client and what wouldn’t, photo editing, etc. It’s been the best internship experience ever. What’s a hobby you’d like to start learning? ^ The latter. I’d also love to learn how to bake, and maybe? start a vlog because it’d be nice to have an outlet where I can express myself and do new things while sharing my experiences with other people. What’s something you’d like to get better at? I constantly want to improve at my job because perfectionism. What food do you wish you had right now? Coffee shop pastries. :( God I haven’t had one of those in a while; I miss them loads. Your go to quarantine outfit? I don’t have one but man, when I do go out I tend to overdress because I rarely get an opportunity or have a reason to drive out these days, so I allow myself to look cute and all dressed up even if I’m just meant to pick up food at my grandma’s or something. What have you done today? I’ve been taking this survey, taken a shower, cried for a half hour, played with Cooper, cradled Kimi like a baby, checked my emails, and taken a few sips of coffee. Any plans for tomorrow? Work work work. What’s on your “to watch” list? The second volume of Unsolved Mysteries is finally out on Netflix so I’m hoping I get around to watching a few episodes soon. Any musicians/bands you’ve discovered? Most recent one was Chase Atlantic but I discovered them like back in July. Since I’m not listening to a lot of music these days, I’m not expecting to find new bands or singers to get into any time soon. Post a selfie right now!! Eh. Post pictures of your pets! Outdoor activity you’d like to do right now? Hiking, mountain climbing, camping. Anything that’ll help me get disconnected from the world for a few days, really. Something you’re looking forward to when quarantine is over? Doing all those ^, traveling, being able to actually go to a workplace (once I have one), seeing my friends, going to bars again. Someone you’d like to see when quarantine is over? Everybody, man. I don’t give a shit as to who it is. Any new games coming out you want to play? Not really. I’m just waiting on GTA 6 even though there’s been like 0 updates on that front. New shows you’ve discovered? I revisited The Crown, but that’s it. I haven’t discovered anything new. Most comfortable piece of clothing you have? I find all of them comfortable; that’s why I wear them at home haha.

1. If you could travel one place in the world where would you travel?

If I had to choose only one place, it would be Japan, always. It’s my home away from home, it feels so familiar to me.

2. What do you do in your free time away from Sims? I read about 50-60 books a year. A lot of fantasy and sci-fi, some contemporary romances, a few essays and non-fiction books... Besides that, I cook every day (especially now!) and I watch Youtube videos about green lifestyle, book recommendations, fashion history, science, etc.

3. What other games do you play besides The Sims? Nothing much, actually. I used to play a lot when I had a Nintendo DS (Zelda, anything Mario, Animal Crossing, all the big franchises) but I’ve never upgraded to the Switch and I’m still unsure whether to do it or not. I’ve played a bit of Simcity and Stardew Valley, as well as some otome games, and watched some Life is Strange walkthroughs. But to be honest, I cannot play a game without cheating! It’s not the game I’m interested in, it’s the story behind.

4. How tall are you? 1m70

5. One random interest of yours? Clothes. I’m trying to achieve the ultimate, personal dream wardrobe.

6. Current favorite bands or artists? Good thing it says “current”! Lana Del Rey, Christine and the Queens, Alice on the Roof, Loïc Nottet... are some of my current faves. 

7. Something you’re looking forward to. Weeell... all future events have been cancelled until further notice. And whenever I don’t see people on a regular basis, I tend to withdraw even more, as if I had a secret social muscle that needed to be stretched once in a while. My social muscle is currently atrophied and I just want to crawl in a closet and see no one.

The only thing I can say in full honesty that I’m looking forward to is the next time I’ll be able to write that little scene I have in mind and that’s been bugging me for days.

8.Current favourite films. I watch very few movies, maybe 4 or 5 per year? I’m not a big fan of the format (too short to develop anything worthwhile and too showy to keep my interest). The last I saw was The Good, the Bad and the Ugly because it’s one of my husband’s favorites. That was seriously ahead of its time in terms of shooting and I liked it, if only because it was about bad guys again. :)

9. Who is a historical icon who has left an impact on your life? I’d like to name here a very impressive reference but sadly I have none. I had no big, sudden revelation coming from a superior mind. My biggest personal changes come with time, and usually by the time whatever I read or watched actually impacts me, so much water has gone under the bridge that I’ve quite forgotten about the origin.

10. Current favorite series (book or movie).

Just adding “current” to this question like the rest of them. :p So, I’m currently reading the third volume of the Gentleman Bastard series by Scott Lynch. The whole thing has been a total blast, I’m hooked! And yes, it’s AGAIN about bad boys, what can I say?

Favorite song is MUCH too hard to answer. I don’t think I have THE all-time favorite song, but a whole list of all-time faves. 

Currently though, I’d say it’s probably “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd and “When Did Your Heart Go Missing” by “Rooney”

The question of my favorite band I always answer with “Maroon 5″. They’re the band I know, and love, the most songs of...So that’s why. 

Iced Cafe Mocha - Favorite thing to do on rainy days?

Drawing, mainly :0 But I always find something to do at home, so I can also just end up playing a video-game, watching a movie, writing or so on.

Early Grey Tea - The inevitable Zombie Apocalypse is upon us! What’s your plan of action?

I am 90% sure, I’d be the person who dies first but ahdh okay let’s pretend for a second that I’m somehow competent....My plan would most likely be to stick to the people I know and who I think would stay more calmer than I would (I panic very easily. I’m a massive coward okay ahdhd).

I’d try helping to come up with a strategy if we reached some safe spot and I eventually relaxed a litte, maybe. 

Mint Tea - How do you relax?

Never. Mainly by taking walks and listening to some music, I have a collection of very calming instrumental songs...some soundtracks from video games I never played (I know literally NOTHING about what “Dragon Age” even is but it has this really beautiful track “Destiny of Love”, which is also perfect for musing about Fantasy stories and the likes. It’s so !! pretty !!! Also the “Mists of Pandaria”-expansion of World of Warcraft has a beautiful soundtrack.... But I never even considered playing WoW either ahdh. Although I do also listen a lot to the Soundtracks of the various “Animal Crossing”-games, which I did play, and “Wadanohara & The Great Blue Sea”, which I did not play but at least I saw the Playthrough), movies that I DID watch (I can honestly highly recommend the soundtrack of “The Theory of Everything”...”Domestic Pressures” is, ah, my everything!), some Jazz and also the works of an artist named “City Girl” (It’s all on YouTube, if you need music to relax I can highly recommend her work: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC382H9j5oXUeJqcBSpzusPQ )

But I also take a lot of relaxation out of a good coffee being real. I love my coffee. 

Iced Coffee - Do you like reading? If so, what’s your favorite book?

Yeah I do, but I find it hard to to name a fave ahahdd

The last book I read and remember really enjoying is honestly “The Great Gatsby”...which I had to read for school ahdh. I’m reading two books as of right now...One is super funny and once I’m through with it, it might become a fave. The other is...flawed. Mainly in pacing. 

Both are German though. 

Sparkling Water - Describe what qualities you look for in a person

I’ve felt myself drawn to humor most definitely, although...if I’m being real, if I end up gaining a crush on someone, I giggle over every little joke they make. Like, that’s actually one of the greatest signs I developed feelings ahshd. 

I’m also very into intelligence (or maybe rather, someone I can have discussions with on topics that interest us both) and into politeness, chivalry and just kind-off gentleman-like behavior being real.
