The chaotic energy of near-death bruised-up violin Durge jamming out in camp with Alfira after stealing Wyll’s clothes (but he’s still just there vibing with it!) is chefs kiss to me.
“Passing Through” - The amazing Kaden MacKay created an updated version of this tune, which felt very Virgil-y, so here’s an updated version of my cover 💜 (original)
Was going to wait til tomorrow to post this, but decided to swap it with my youtube vid* and OTHER video I made with Virgil, as the youtube video needed a bit more edit time to complete! So... Virgil's just gonna have a two-parter birthday, that's just what we're gonna do lol
*context: thomas mentioned on instagram planning to post a new youtube video on monday (today) but apparently he will post it tomorrow.
I’m here to say that you may absolutely express negativity about veilguard to me as long as it’s not stupid. hate on it for real reasons, of which there are plenty, most of which I’m ignoring because of the hype but would be glad to discuss in a civilized manner. no forced positivity in this zone this is a safe space. unless your criticism is dumb as fuck then I will point and laugh
just remembered how this morning woke up in the middle of an incredibly boring debate between two strangers on whether horses ridden by christians were christian as well despite the horses not being baptised. I was just wondering why i was there for it when quite abruptly and that was thankfully no longer the case (woke up).
“They were desperate for us to do another single so they took almost any song we had and that song was The Way You Are, unfortunately,” says Orzabal, who has described the track as “the point where we had to change direction”. Smith, more brusquely, has called it “the worst thing we’ve done”.
“We spent forever – months – making it and it wasn’t a pop song,” considers Orzabal. “It got to No 24, and we went on Top Of The Pops, but it didn’t have that pop hit quality.”
They were, as Orzabal points out, trying to compete with the exotic avant-funk/electro-pop of David Sylvian’s Japan, and failing.
“It was a fuck-up,” he admits. “So we moved onto another, slightly smaller, fuck-up – Mothers Talk [No 14, August 1984], and that sort of led onto Shout. So we were moving in a direction. It just took us a while.”
My Brain: Markoth and Xero don’t fight, they’re mature adults and any disagreements get sorted without drama. But the infection grows and they’re getting stressed, they’re getting worried about their family and the kingdom.
Markoth’s getting worried for Xero - his symptoms getting worse as he keeps pretending that he’s fine. One of the biggest symptoms being heightened aggression. These times are few, but when a discussion starts getting heated the difference is almost unbearably noticeable - the worst part being that the words hold no venom, they just want the best for each other. They want each other to be ok.
One time Xero slammed his fist against the table as he raised his voice, startling everyone around. It was silence after that, the two uncharacteristically sleeping apart. Perhaps Markoth heard Xero mutter to himself, wondering why he keeps getting so angry lately - frustrated knowing there isn’t anything he can do. The morning they apologise, unspoken knowing, that the fights could get worse the more the infection progresses in Xero. Xero, as horrible as he’s feeling nearly all the time, is determined to keep it in check. They can’t let it get worse. They won’t let it.
They know, at the end of the day, that any of these more heated arguments are never out of hatred, never trying to harm. They can hold each other afterwards, knowing that they can forgive each other for it’s never in malice, that the emotions stirring are causing everyone grief.
The whole family knows this is a matter of circumstances - they know Xero isn’t aggressive, they know the two aren’t so ready to pettily bicker about things, they know they hate when these few louder arguments happen.
Few times these fights happen. And to this family, a few times too many
It was hard to choose. They're sorta random order although I'm pretty set on those top 3 in that order.
And yes. I did go with Do I Wanna Know in my top 3. Come on. It's a Bucket list moment for AM fans. Also it's popular for a reason. If you tell me you don't want to inject that riff into your veins I don't know what to tell you (you're a liar. I don't believe you)
im just going to gently bonk canon with a hammer because I had a fun idea for how SHS Tim's confrontation with Shiva ends
specifically for Tim to be like "sorry Bruce the cruise sounds nice but I uhhhh have to go find cass. for reasons. I'll definitely come catch up to you afterwards" and then drop off the map for eleven months
bc black canary did a version of her bet with Shiva to swap places (with Shiva Doing Heroism and not killing) but rather than joining birds of prey shiva first took the opportunity to offer some mother son bonding to her youngest.
either way she's still trying to convince him to be evil, and also extremely bad at heroism; tim is babysitting an adult hero again.
and I want Tim to wear a different costume so he doesn't raise questions about What Robin Is Doing and I want it to be based on spoiler's, for sadness reasons. but for comedy reasons he can't figure out a name for himself, so every time he gives introductions he uses a different codename (all of them are bad)
