Alberta's exemption for farm workers employed for less than six months is particularly odious . Those people will often be foreign workers on a temporary visa - so they are injured at work, they then must go home without a scrap of compensation to help cover any medical bills or loss of future income.
Part of the point of WSIB is to incentivize safe workplaces, because otherwise your premiums go up and/or your insurer sues you (with much more financial muscle/lawyers than an injured worker can). Exempting temporary (foreign) workers removes this incentive.
I have an office job that is waaaay safer than farm work, yet my employer must have WSIB. (And if I'm hit by a truck during my work, I'll get compensation and my employer might have higher premiums.)

I love seeing a meme and being like oh, tumblrs going to love this one

1,768 days later, I’m finally free.
Finally out of the purview of WSIB.
Are they terrible for denying my appeal for the bereavement time I wasn’t given? Absofriggenlutely.
But I am FREE!
No more monthly check-ins.
No more reporting every little thing about me life.
No more having to share my medical information.
No more having a revolving door of case managers who never check in.
No more being their performing monkey and still getting let down.
I’m free to do whatever I want, work wherever I want, and be whatever I want.
Thank the LORD.
I feel like I need to celebrate.
My therapist and I also congratulated me on how I’ve handled everything this year. He agreed completely that my breakdown was medication related three years ago. Because, as he said, this year would have been enough to have another one if I was ever going to have one.
Apparently I’m back to being strong? Or I never stopped? Because falling apart isn’t weak.
Point.
Free
Woo. To the HOO.

The person in my life who is most excited about Barbie is my mom, who looooves Barbie. She bonded with my cousins when they first met over Barbies, as they thought she was Barbie due to her very blonde hair. The only reason she hasn't seen it yet is she's going with me, my brother, my aunt, and my cousins on Thursday. Coordinating six adults' schedules is hard, especially when one's a NICU nurse.
Last night she dug out all of the Barbies in our basement- a mix of the ones she had as a kid and the ones that my brother and I accumulated in the 90s-00s. She cleaned them all up and dressed them up. They'll be guests of honor when we go on Thursday.
#barbie movie generator#barbie 2023#barbie has had a lot of careers i feel like she had to file wsib at least once in her life#mom#ow! my entire life#family shit

Expert Tree Removal Services in Toronto: Why It Matters for Safety & Aesthetics
Introduction: The Importance of Professional Tree Removal
Trees are an essential part of Toronto’s urban landscape, offering shade, beauty, and environmental benefits. However, there are times when tree removal becomes a necessity due to safety hazards, disease, or urban development needs. At Toronto Tree Removal, we specialize in safe, professional, and efficient tree removal services across various neighborhoods, including The Annex, The Beaches, Liberty Village, and more.

In this post, we’ll discuss when tree removal is necessary, the process involved, and how to choose the best tree removal service in Toronto.
When Should You Consider Tree Removal?
Not all trees need to be removed, but some situations demand professional intervention. Here are common reasons why property owners in Toronto might need tree removal services:
Dead or Dying Trees: If a tree is diseased, decaying, or completely dead, it poses a significant risk of falling and causing damage.
Storm Damage: Severe weather, including strong winds and ice storms, can weaken trees, making them unstable.
Structural Damage Risk: If tree roots are damaging underground pipes, sidewalks, or your home’s foundation, removal may be the best solution.
Obstructing Construction or Landscaping Projects: Sometimes, trees need to be cleared for new buildings, driveways, or other landscaping projects.
Invasive Species & Infestations: Trees affected by pests like the emerald ash borer may need to be removed to prevent the spread to healthy trees.
If you’re unsure whether a tree should be removed, our team at Toronto Tree Removal can provide an assessment.
The Tree Removal Process: What to Expect
At Toronto Tree Removal, we follow a structured and safe approach to tree removal:
1. Site Inspection & Assessment
Our ISA-certified arborists first assess the tree's condition, size, and location to determine the safest removal method.
2. Obtaining Necessary Permits
In Toronto, tree removal regulations require permits for trees over 30 cm in diameter on private property. We assist clients with the application process, ensuring compliance with city regulations.
3. Safe & Efficient Tree Removal
Using specialized equipment such as ropes, harnesses, and cranes, we carefully cut and remove the tree in sections, minimizing damage to surrounding property.
4. Stump Grinding & Cleanup
Once the tree is removed, we offer stump grinding services to eliminate the remaining base, leaving a clean and usable space.
5. Eco-Friendly Disposal & Recycling
We ensure that all removed trees are properly disposed of or repurposed, such as being turned into mulch or firewood.

Why Choose Toronto Tree Removal?
Choosing the right tree removal company is essential for safety, efficiency, and legal compliance. Here’s why Toronto Tree Removal is a trusted choice:
✅ Fully Licensed & Insured: We are WSIB-covered and adhere to all safety regulations to protect our workers and your property. ✅ Certified Arborists: Our team includes ISA-certified arborists who bring expertise and precision to every job. ✅ Fast & Reliable Service: Available 7 days a week from 7 AM to 10 PM, we offer emergency tree removal services when needed. ✅ Competitive Pricing & Free Estimates: We provide affordable tree removal services with upfront pricing and no hidden fees.

im high and caffeinated and rambly so heres some life updates
my partner got approved for wsib!!!!!! we were extremely not expecting them to approve it esp bc the disability claim is for like pstd and acute stress but it covers like 85 percent of what they wouldve been paid by their job i think so thts like a big relief. idk exactly when they get it tho n theyre already back to work in less than 2 weeks so they still super appreciate ppl who gave to or shared their pay info this month, like it kept them fed while theyre not being paid. im just worried abt them going back n hope they handle everything okay but theyve def been doing a lil better since tht stressor of worrying over being denied or not is gone
my money situation is horrendous tho like at least one of us is gna be doing fine now but im literally like i need to come up with . at least about 450 dollars in the next 4 days for rent and car money. n ive been doing delivery app driving lately which has actually been pretty decent money n pays out same day but im jst Anxious. n the new store im at is still barely scheduling me 10 hours a week like do not even qualify for benefits anymore im so gd damn over that place. like i dont get decent hours my pay dropped and im too burnt out for the social aspects and i can't get healthcare or college thru there anymore. like i feel like its just a coffee discount and free spotify subscription atp like Youre Nothing Youre Nothing i need 2 leave the siren so badd
#but it is also Some level of security so i could even try transfering or smth idek#but like i literally made like 100 dollars on my last paycheck#which is less than what i make in equal time driving. so its like. idk. idk

FISCO CLEANING SERVICES BUSINESS OPERATING PLAN.
Fisco Cleaning Services: Business Operations Plan
At Fisco Cleaning Services, we aim to provide budget-friendly, eco-friendly, and efficient cleaning solutions for homes and offices in the Niagara Region. As we move into the operational stage of launching our business, we focus on finalizing operations, sourcing necessary supplies, and ensuring we have everything to start selling our services.
Sourcing Resources for Our Service Offering
Unlike product-based businesses that require manufacturing and shipping, our cleaning service relies on purchasing high-quality, eco-friendly cleaning supplies and hiring reliable staff to deliver exceptional service. To meet our commitment to eco-friendly cleaning, we plan to source:
Non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning products from local suppliers.
Reusable microfiber cloths, protective gloves, and eco-friendly sponges to reduce waste.
HEPA-filter vacuum cleaners and steam mops for deep cleaning without chemicals
We will purchase these supplies in bulk from regional wholesalers to save costs and ensure we are stocked up before launch. Based on supplier timelines, we are confident that we can source our products in time to begin operations as planned.
Team Roles and Responsibilities
Since we are working as a small team, each member will take on specific responsibilities to ensure a smooth launch:
Executive Director (Fisayo Komolafe) – Oversees operations, marketing, and customer relations.
Supervisor – Manages staff, schedules appointments, and ensures quality control.
Two Junior Staff – Handle on-site cleaning services and maintain customer satisfaction.
Licenses and Permits
To operate legally and professionally, we will need to register our business and obtain necessary permits, such as:
Business License – Required to legally offer cleaning services in the Niagara Region.
Liability Insurance – To protect against damages or accidents while cleaning.
WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) Coverage – If we hire employees, we need to ensure they are covered for workplace injuries.
Tools We Need for Launch
To officially start selling our services, we need the following:
Eco-friendly cleaning supplies (detergents, disinfectants, mops, protective gloves, vacuums, etc.).
Uniforms for staff to maintain a professional image.
An online booking system for easy customer scheduling.
Marketing materials (social media ads, flyers, e-mail).
A reliable transportation plan to reach clients efficiently.
Final Steps Before Launch
In the next six weeks, we will focus on:
Finalizing supply purchases and ensuring we have all cleaning equipment.
Launching our online booking platform to start accepting clients.
Marketing our services via social media and word of mouth.
Training our team to ensure top-quality service delivery.
With everything in place, we are excited to introduce our new service "Fisco Cleaning"- a high-quality, eco-friendly communal experience. Stay tuned for updates as we launch!

Concussion symptoms are fully back yay me -_-
Can't spell/type worth a shit, vaguely nauseous and headachy, sensitive to lights and too many sounds again (worse than usual lol), and I'm wearing my concussion-specific glasses again T^T
Guess I'll call the WSIB tomorrow and see if they'll reinstate my claim *big sigh*
