10. What kind of student are/were you?: The diligent one (but people often claim I’m the overachiever even tho I’m not always a straight A student lololol).

14. If you drink, what kind of drunk are you? Alternatively, what sort of person are you at parties?: I don’t drink... Yet. My Canadian friends are trying to get me to drink with them since I’m now legal in Canada but I’m scared heeeeeelp. :b I’m usually the wallflower if I don’t know anybody too well at a party. However, if I find people I’m comfortable hanging out with, I’ll stick with their squad throughout the event, talking, eating, dancing and taking pictures/SnapChats to our hearts’ desires~. ^-^

15. Do you fall in love easily? Or does it usually take a long time for you to trust someone?: Nope. I have to get to know the person before I “fall in love” with them, let alone having a crush on them. Which is why the biggest crushes I’ve had were on some of my closest friends. But I’ve never told them because I didn’t want to risk our friendships IDK I’M A NOOB WHEN IT COMES TO LOVEY-DOVEY THINGS. :b

Both of these locations are places where I’d have more than enough room to move or think. ^-^

Outdoors: Somewhere near the sea, where I could feel the sand on my toes, hear the waves splashing onto the shore, smell the ocean breeze, and watch the orange sunset glowing along the horizon.

Indoors: An empty practice room. Wooden floors, large mirrors in front of the room, dance barres along the side walls, a few windows displaying the outside world, and a speaker/stereo system perfect for blasting the music around the room.

19. Do you have kids? If not, do you want them someday?: No kids atm, but I love working with them! Yes, I’d like kids someday~.

20. What was your favorite book as a child?: I read many books as a wee child. But one book I can clearly remember is Stellaluna. It’s an adorable story about a bat who discovers who she truly is thanks to both her adoptive and biological families (The former being a family of birds and the latter being a family of bats.).

21. Name one thing you just don’t get what all the hype is about: Fidget spinners. I’m still seeing people freak out about those things. Didn’t the trend die a month or two ago?

22. Name one thing that you think is tragically underrated: Myspace. *evil laughs despite the fact that I never had a Myspace account* :P Sorry I couldn’t think of anything else bahaha~

23. If you had to be glued to a person for a month, real or fictional (who you have never met), who would you choose?: I mean, I’ve never met MYSME’s 707 IRL, so I’ll stick with him And we can visit his space station, haha~ ^-^

24. What’s something you’d like the chance to do someday?: Act in a theatrical production. I haven’t done theatre in a year and I already miss it. T.T

25. Do you typically speak your mind when you have a controversial opinion? Or do generally prefer to not rock the boat?: I’ll definitely speak my mind if I’m well-versed in the topic and if I’m passionate about it. If I want to present a controversial opinion, I have to be sure that I can articulate my POV eloquently and professionally. I’m also more than willing to listen to the other side, as long as they fully know what they’re talking about (Frankly, I will not take any B.S. if I suspect B.S.).

26. What’s the dumbest fad you’ve been caught up in?: I’m blanking... Yeah, IDK, but I’m pretty sure I got caught up in some kind of dumb fad back in middle school. *shivers b/c I don’t want to relive those years*

27. What’s something you thought was cool as a kid/adolescent, but now cringe at yourself for?: When I was younger (like elementary/middle school-age), I dreamed of becoming a singer. In order to accomplish that dream, I joined my school and church choirs: however, that turned out to be a pretty toxic experience since almost everyone I was singing with treated every single practice and performance as a singing competition. Like, c’mon you guys: we aren’t on Glee. -.-’

28. What’s a trait you consider to be very admirable?: Honesty: I admire people who are genuine and true.

29. Is there a particular kind of item people always tend to give you as gifts? (For instance, people always get you things with ducks on them because you like ducks, etc.): Books (people know I’m a huge bookworm), clothes (b/c I’m usually too lazy/don’t have time to shop for my own clothes, LOLOL), stuffed animals (I’m a child at heart and I love cuddly & cute things), sweets (especially chocolate).

30. Do you speak multiple languages? Which ones?: 

English is my mother tongue.

I apparently used to speak Tagalog fluently when I was very young, but then I stopped speaking that language once I started preschool; however, I’ve picked up some terms over the years, so I can sort of dissect my parents’ conversations w/ the other adults (”Yes, Mom, I knew that you were talking about my uni stuff with Tita *insert name here*.” :P), plus I’m going to take a Tagalog 101 class in Autumn Quarter, so I’ll (hopefully) learn how to say complete sentences instead of just the names of foods, holidays, and Filipino Folk Dances. xD

I learned Spanish throughout my high school career, so I’m okay in that department even though I haven’t practiced speaking/listening/writing in that language recently. I’m still fluent enough to help my sisters with their Spanish homework, so that’s something. :P

I tried learning some French, Japanese, and Korean through various language learning apps, but to no avail.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

31. Would you rather live in the big city or the countryside?: Can I choose like a little town instead? Big city: the countryside would be MUCH too quiet for me (Plus I’d be much too tempted to run atop every hill Sound of Music style and start singing at the top of my lungs - which would probably annoy a lot of people, myself included. :P).

32. Has there ever been something you were certain you’d hate, but ended up loving?: Giles Christophe a.k.a my Midnight Cinderella bias. Ironic, huh? xD <3 Also Jumin Han from MYSME. :P

33. Do you mind being the center of attention, or do you prefer the spotlight to be on someone else?: I will hide from the spotlight like I’m a friggin vampire unless there’s a damn good reason for me to be under it.

35. Are you a more go-with-the-flow type of person, or do you need to have things planned meticulously?: If I’m in charge of scheduling something, then I MUST have everything carefully planned. If I’m leaving the scheduling to someone else, then I’ll just go with the flow~.

36. Is there something you loved so much you wish you could forget it and experience it all over again? (A tv show, book, series–anything.): My first trip to Hawaii: I’d love to explore the islands and swim in its oceans again.

If you could have a superpower, but it was only mildly useful, what ability would you want to have?: “Mildly useful?” (O.o) I guess the ability to learn things VERY quickly - like, master an activity on the first try. I actually have a friend with that ability, which has allowed him to almost effortlessly master almost every sport he’s ever learned: he’s basically a superhuman and I admire and envy him for his “superpower.” :P <3

39. Something people are always surprised to learn about you: My age: people think that I’m much younger than I actually am, mostly because of my shorter-than-average height and my baby face. I’m basically an adult stuck in a teenager’s body. xD

40. Something that took you way too long to figure out: How to apply the Unit Circle to various math problems eff you precalculus and calculus never again ugggghhhhh.

41. Worst injury you’ve had?: My broken heart (JKJK, sort of. :P) I got burned by the metal tip of a very hot glue gun. Thanks to that, I have a tiny scar on my upper right arm.

46. Something that sucked but you’re glad you went through: Freshman year of high school. I first moved to my new home that year, so being the new kid sucked for a while, but I eventually made some friends and found more opportunities to grow as a person (through writing and theatre).

(Neither tattoo can be removed or concealed with makeup, and the ugly tattoo will deeply offend anyone who sees it.): Ugly tat. At least I’d have a place to hide it. xD

48. Are you more of an optimist or a pessimist?: Realist. Leaning on the pessimist side. However, I do try to believe that things will get better, that there’ll be more bigger and better opportunities out there, etc. etc.

49. What would be the most flattering compliment someone could give you?: That I’m a hardworking and genuine person. Then again, I don’t do well compliments anyway: I’ll definitely blush and stutter and try to hide behind some kind of an object while complimenting you back. xD <3

I've just recently in the past few years gotten more into musical theater, so I have a lot to learn. I'm not a singer or anything, but I like to watch and listen. Also, I have to randomly ask something. Why the heck did " Glee" have Brian Stokes Mitchell on the show and not let him sing more? What a waste. Ha ha. What are some really underrated musicals?

That’s awesome! Nah man, you don’t have to be a singer to get into/like musical theater! We actually need more people to appreciate musical theater who don’t participate, honestly. Same with opera, but that’s another story I know no one here wants to get into lol.

Who knows, man? I mean, they had Victor Garber on and didn’t have him sing and fucking Cheyenne Jackson!!!! Even The Real O’Neals had Cheyenne sing!!!! And he was on one ep of that unlike being in several episodes like he was for glee.

Okay, so as I said, I’m a bit of an MT hipster. So I like a lot of weird shit lol. A not very detailed list is below, with some notes by yours truly lol. Sorry that this got so long omfg

Bat Boy - based on the Daily News articles, this chronichles the story of a bat boy found in a cave in West Virginia. He’s taken to the local vet, and while everyone in town just wants the doctor to kill him, the vet’s wife wants to take care of the teen, who she names Edgar, and teach him how to behave. The doctor kind of goes crazy and their daughter, Shelly, falls for Edgar. A lot of the parts in the show outside of the family are double casted, and it’s honestly hilarious and also makes me cry by the end, poking a lot of fun at “Christian Charity” (that’s the name of one of the songs that also gets a reprise) and the like. It’s extra loved by me for featuring the impeccable Kerry Butler (the original Penny in Hairspray, female lead in Xanadu, Catch Me If You Can...the ageless girl wonder)Reefer Madness - the Off-Broadway production opened the weekend of 9/11, which definitely effected its possible success. It’s, of course, based off the ridiculous propaganda film of the same name, though it takes it a bit farther and pokes fun at all of it and even more of the racist/sexist attitudes of the 1930s. While all/most of the others I’m talking about here only have CDs and maybe some bootlegs, this one has a movie version!!!! That actually is almost 100% like the stage version (at least based on what I saw). The movie features Kristen Bell as Mary Lane, the part she originated, and also features Alan Cumming and the forever under-appreciated Ana Gasteyer and Amy Spanger. Side Show - you can debate which version is better, but whether you prefer the original cast or the 2014 revival that changed some of the story to make it more accurate, it’s absolutely amazing. A musical based (loosely) off the true story of the conjoined Hilton twins who made a career of their oddity by working in freak shows, vaudeville, and even a few movies, though they were all critically panned. Features some of the best duets for female voices (most famously “Who Will Love Me As I Am?” and “I Will Never Leave You”). The original has Alice Ripley as one of the twins (Violet, and while I still think she screams a lot, she does a great job), and Norm Lewis as Jake. If you ever want to cry, just listen to his big song “You Should Be Loved” or the above duets. Or just read about the Hilton’s lives because it’s so depressing and the musical doesn’t even touch on that. I’m forever sad this never gets awards or the long runs it deserves. It should also be noted that Alice and her fellow twin, Emily Skinner (Daisy Hilton), were nominated together for the Tony.[title of show] - okay, this show is just...fucking........hilarious. “It’s a musical about two guys writing a musical about two guys writing a musical...” Just a lot of silly fun and also some great quotes, like “I’d rather be nine people’s favorite thing than a hundred people’s ninth favorite thing.” It also points out a lot of flaws in Broadway, like the lack of original musicals and how there are waaaaaaaay too many musicals based off movies lol. It’s a four person cast, all of whom are named after the people who originated the roles, and it manages to be just so funny and still inspirational and such a joy to listen to.Zanna, Don’t! - okay. so I get why most “oppressed group written as oppressors” stories are awful, like that whole “save our pearls” book or w/e that happened a few years back. But Zanna, Don’t was written by a gay man who just wanted to write some musicals with fun, catchy love songs for gay couples. So, in this world, being gay is the norm and straight people are the hated group. Zanna is an actual fairy (in high school) who matches up everyone in his town and never actually remembers to pair himself up with anyone. So when a straight A student and the quarterback of the football team fall in love...well, it finds a way to be cute, funny, and poignant all in one. Features Queer Eye “culture vulture” Jai Rodriguez in the title role and the show should get extra points for the line “what kind of world would this be if the football star wasn’t the lead in the musical??”In the Heights - not necessarily underrated so much as it’s just forgotten in Hamilton’s success. This tells the day in the life of people in Washington Heights. It also features a completely diverse cast and, imo, has some catchy songs that outdo some of Hamilton. If you don’t bawl while singing along to “Breathe” while stressing about failing at college/your dreams, what do you even do with your spare time? That used to be my most common activity.The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown - Idk if I can truly say it’s underrated since it really hasn’t been on Broadway so it’s never had a chance to get known...plus I think it’s popular among actual theater performers, but not enough of musical fans know about this. A lot of theater kids probably know “Freedom” and “Run Away With Me”, as the duet is a great choice for two women and shows a ton of depth/vocal prowess, while the solo can show a very tender male voice, but the show is more than those songs or “The Proposal” or “The Girl Who Drove Away”. The story starts with Sam sitting in her car. She’s supposed to be driving to college, but she’s fantasizing about driving away. She conjures up her best friend, Kelly, in her mind, and Kelly convinces her to relive her senior year and figure out why she wants to leave. You eventually find out Kelly died that year, and along the way you learn about Sam’s college applications, her boyfriend, and how lost she felt all year, all while still trying to learn how to drive. It’s so moving, and, honestly, “Freedom” is still a jam and probably does deserve to be one of the most famous songs from the show. The show might also inspire you to run away so...watch out for that. The bootleg I have is what inspire my love for Melissa, quite literally, since I had stopped watching g/lee at the time. The Boy from Oz - one of the better done jukebox musicals, since it focuses on the writer of those songs, and also is the best role Hugh Jackman will ever have. I’m sure a lot of people on my dash are familiar with Chris’ version of “Not the Boy Next Door” on g/lee. If you like it, you should check out Hugh performing that at the Tony’s. Anyways, it tells the life story of Peter Allen, whose songwriting credits include the above song, “I Honestly Love You”, and “Don’t Cry Out Loud”. He met Judy Garland and, of course, then met and married her daughter, Liza Minelli. I will never praise Stephanie J. Block’s Liza enough, she is perf. And, again, Hugh is flawless, and he originated the part both in Australia (Peter Allen’s home country) and then on Broadway. Getting to see the original cast in this was one of the highlights of my life.

That’s it for now. I’d also suggest checking out some classics. I didn’t put it on the list since it’s not underrated, but the original cast of Sweeney Todd is the best thing you could ever listen to - Victor Garber in his prime and Angela Landsbury is the forever best interpretation of Mrs. Lovett, #notsorry Patti. The movie version directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp is truly a disgrace compared to the actual version which has a legal taped version available for your viewing pleasure! You can see why it’s performed in opera houses nowadays!!! Though the video sadly doesn’t  have the original Anthony (Victor Garber) and the Johanna is bad...not that I’ve heard a Johanna I truly like. Rodgers and Hammerstein should at least be somewhat known, though a lot of their stories are like...gross. But Sondheim is pretty damn solid -- and if you didn’t know, he wrote the lyrics for Gypsy and West Side Story. A lot of people seem to not know that, but like he was making some big strides long before Company was a hit. Which also deserves a listen

I know I wasn't great at being a girlfriend. But I tried. I keep thinking of the things I think I messed up. I remember wanting to watch a movie on one of our rides back home in an autorickshaw, maybe it was that. Or maybe it was the time I told him I wanted to go see my friends in college after spending some time with him. He was a senior so he had graduated and I wanted him to be there with me where we spent so much of our time before he got done w college. Maybe wanting him there was bad. Or wanting to share a banana shake with him. I'm trying to revisit my relationship because I want to remember why I left him and then wanted him even more after I left. It was gorgeous in the beginning. Parks and picnics, college romance, restaurant visits. Everything was kinda perfect. I was into him and I started spending all my time with him. I tried managing my friends and him and that's why it got a little untidy. My friends started feeling left out and they were really important to me at the time. Why now, the persent time, is hurting more is maybe because the friendships I fought to him for have almost all fallen apart. I've lost friends time and again and I keep thinking there's something wrong with me. These many people can't be wrong. I am the problem. And however much I tell myself otherwise, it always comes back to this. Me losing people. People who once loved me and then suddenly don't want anything to do w me. Idk if you've lost a friend ever, but it takes away a part of you. I remember our fights. He once sent a message to a girl he liked telling her if the circumstances were different when he was in his second year, he would've asked her out. I remember we ran into the same girl in the library once and he was so happy to see her. Then at her farewell (which was also my best friend's farewell) I clicked pictures of the two of them together and they looked better than we ever did. This killed me a little. He once told me he went to see his friends but actually went to see his ex. I went to see a friend and lied about it so he doesn't get hurt but he held it against me for the longest of time. The guy wasn't even my ex. He was a fucking friend. I never texted anyone while we were in a relationship telling them I would've dated them. You don't think about dating other people if you're happy in the relationship you are in. I loved going shopping with him. He said he didn't know I was bi before we started dating. But ik for a fact the first two things I tell about myself is that I'm bi and depressed so that's just bullshit. He never knows what to get and I love shopping for others so we work really well in that department, even now. The last we hung out was when we went to eat and then get him a pair of shoes. He's a nice guy but he's being so harsh on me now. Maybe I come out too strongly because I would tell him I'm waiting for him to be ready to date again. But I wanted to want him so badly that I forgot I didn't actually want him. He was an extremely kind person but people change. He says he cares about me still. I don't think he does. He said on the last day of 2019 that he loves me. I was so happy to hear it. So happy. But I don't think he does. Because we don't hurt the people we love. Not when they themselves are telling us that what we're doing is hurting them. I want to be free of him now and I want to be me again. I want to not think of him at random times of the day. Being alone can be hard and sometimes lonely but it's okay and I need to learn that.

Update on my life

Hey guys! 

So it’s been a pretty long time since my last post. I’ve noticed that this will be the third post labeled ‘update’ so obvi I’m very original.

But where am I now? 

School: I’m loving school. I dropped Bio and decided that I just really do not want to be a science major. It was extremely hard coming to this decision, but I’m SO happy now. I’m taking a couple less credits bc basically EVERY class I wanted to take was full, so I feel like I’m slacking. The goal was to take at least 16 or 17 credits each semester, but that just wasn’t happening this time around. I’m taking 3 psych classes now: Adolescent Psych; Pscyh of Alcohol and Substance Abuse; and Reading and Writing about Psych.  I’m really enjoying the adolescent and drugs and alcohol psychs. They’re both really interesting and my professors are really great.  For the alcohol and drug class, we have to attend 2 meetings. They could be AA meetings or NA meetings or any other addiction based meetings. I went to my first one last week and it was awesome. The people were so nice and welcoming. It wasn’t much like I expected, but it wasn’t anything insanely different. I really enjoyed it and I’m excited to go to the next one.  Last night I actually sat in on a grad level psych class. IT WAS AWESOME!!! My favorite psych professor from last semester reached grad classes at another college near by and asked if I’d like to sit in. Of course I jumped on the opportunity. Idk why, but going to that class honestly made me love psych so much more. I whole heartedly believe this is what I want to do career wise.  I can see myself in this field so clearly. The second I left last night I wanted to go to another one.  So, I’ll most likely continue on the psych track w my major. I have to talk to the academic advisor about double majoring and majoring/ minoring bc I have the ability to do that as a psych major.  Work: I don’t think I mentioned this, but I work in retail. I hate retail, but who doesn’t. I’m not working too many hours because of school and because there just really aren’t that many hours available at my job rn.  I love most of my coworkers, but I really think I want to leave. I really want to see if I can get some kind of job in a day care center or something revolving more toward my field. I know I’m only a freshman, but I really want to get a head start in things pertaining more to what I would want to do in the future.  I’m still helping my mom babysit here and there when I can and I took on a little tutoring job on the side.

Friends: I love all my friends rn. The people I’ve met at school are honestly so incredible. Idk how I go so lucky, but I’m glad that I did. I’m still making new friends- I talk to someone new almost every day- but I have my core group too. One of my friend’s is going through a lot rn with medical issues and we’re really nervous it’s going to be something serious. So, I’m just trying to help her remain calm till test results come back and we know for sure what is happening. No matter what, Ik she’ll get through anything.

Theres this new kid I became friends with in the last month. He’s really sweet, but a little overbearing. We have a morning class together, the same break and then the same afternoon class together. So, we’ve been spending a good amount of time together recently. It’s nice to have a friend w me, but I used to LOVE that gap time to be alone. I would get lots of work done, or have breakfast, or nap. It was just a me time. But now he stays w me. Most of the time I don’t mind, but recently I’ve just been super annoyed w him. Like I said, he’s a bit overbearing. For instance, the other day I was exhausted and in a bad mood. I just wanted to take a little nap in the library and not do work for a little while. He came to hang out with me for the gap and I told him dude I don’t wanna do anything. I don’t even wanna talk.  He talked the entire time. And just repeated the same things over about school and our assignments. I wanted to scream. 

But a couple of us are thinking that he might have a little crush on me. I hope he doesn’t. Idk how I’d handle telling him no if he ever tried anything. I don’t think it’s anything major if he is crushing. But yeah, I’m praying that I’m over analyzing it. 

Love:  As we know, I have a super crush on one of my friends. BUT, we’re getting over it.  We’re honestly really good friends. Before I liked him, we were friends only. Recently, we’ve been together a lot and its always just a good time. He’s probably 1 of the 2 people I’m closest with at school.  An Ik, you’re probably thinking “ oh this is just bc you like him” but I promise, we are just friends.  I found a bunch of tuff out about him. As I said, we’ve been spending a lot of time together so we’ve been getting to know each other a lot more. We basically have a “no boundaries” policy. Unless we really don’t want to talk about something, we put everything out on the table. It’s really nice having that kind of relationship with someone else. I can say or ask whatever I want and 9 out of 10 times, he’ll answer it honestly and bluntly. No boundaries. Of course, there are certain things we try to keep private. We also have a “I’m serious I don’t want to talk about it” policy. So if one of us says that we genuinely don’t wanna talk about it, we don’t.  For a while I really thought he did like me. There were so many signs that pointed to that but now I really don’t think so.  Maybe there was something there, even if it was little, but I’ve decided to get over him. It sucks so much. I’ll always have those “what if” questions-- what if I just told him; what if he does actually like me and is unsure about how I feel; what if we could actually be something great and I’m giving up too early? These stupid questions keep fucking me up. I’m extremely annoyed w myself bc I fucking cried over him. I never let boys get me that upset, but I let him. I think that’s what’s really bugging me too. For a week or 2 I was super upset, questioning everything about me. And that made me so mad.  I’m strong, independent, and confident. I know my self worth! So why was a letting a stupid boy make me cry and question everything I believed about myself? 

But I think for now, it’s best we just stay friends. It’s hard but I am getting over him. Slowly. When we hang out now, I don’t crave him as much as I used to. I don’t crave his attention as much. If he mentions other girls, I don’t get as jealous.  I know I’ll always care for him, and I’ll probably always wonder if we could’ve been something great. But if it’s meant to be, then one day it will. 

But over all, I’m real happy! I’m loving my school still, loving my classes, and loving my friends.  Every day is extremely jam packed, so I’m constantly on the go. But I’m loving it!
