Exploring Fault Proofs in Optimism: An Overview

The activation of fault proofs by Optimism marks a significant advancement in Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solutions, completing the first stage of its decentralization plan. This milestone is pivotal for enhancing the network's security and trustlessness, reducing reliance on centralized entities like the Optimism Security Council. Previously, the council monitored transactions and intervened to prevent fraud, but with the new fault proof system, any party can now challenge transactions, moving towards a more decentralized and inclusive network.
Ethereum's high transaction fees have made Layer 2 scaling solutions, such as rollups, essential. Optimism's fault proofs ensure that off-chain transactions are valid by allowing a challenge period where anyone can contest a transaction's validity. If a challenge is raised, a fault proof is provided and verified by the Ethereum mainnet, ensuring that invalid transactions are reverted.
This process significantly enhances the security and integrity of the blockchain. Unlike Arbitrum, which relies on 12 validators, Optimism's fault proof system is designed to be trustless and decentralized, enabling broader participation in transaction verification.
Despite initial challenges with proof generation and verification speeds, Optimism has optimized its fault proof mechanisms to be compatible with Ethereum's Layer 1. This achievement not only improves the security and decentralization of the network but also sets a benchmark for other rollup technologies.
The activation of fault proofs highlights the importance of continuous innovation and rigorous testing in the blockchain space. For more in-depth insights and exclusive research, join our Web3 Sync community on Intelisync and Learn more...

Lessons Learned: Reflections from a Google Software Engineer on the Steps of Software Development

As who works as a software engineer at Google, I’ve been fortunate to go through the complex process of software development, picking up valuable insights along the way. We, at Blockverse Infotech Solutions, recognize the significance of looking back on these experiences to enhance our procedures and provide outstanding solutions. Follow along as I discuss the perspectives gained from the software development steps and how they influence our strategy in creating innovative software solutions.
Software development is a challenging journey with lessons to learn, victories to celebrate, and wisdom to gain. I’ve been privileged to witness firsthand the complexities of software development and the knowledge acquired at each phase of the process as a Google software engineer.
The initial lesson acquired in software development is the significance of detailed planning and requirements assessment. Before delving into coding, a thorough grasp of the project objectives, user requirements, and technical specifications is crucial. This sets the groundwork for a successful development process, reducing the possibility of scope expansion or misinterpretations later on.
Following the definition of requirements, the subsequent stage involves design and architecture. This includes crafting a plan for the software solution, delineating the framework, elements, and interactions. Sticking to established design principles and models guarantees the scalability, manageability, and extensibility of the software system.
Coding is where the enchantment appears, as lines of code are converted into operational software solutions. This phase necessitates attention to detail, adherence to coding guidelines, and collaboration with colleagues to ensure code quality and uniformity. Writing clear, effective code not only boosts readability but also eases debugging and upkeep in the long haul.
Testing and quality assurance are integral components of software development, guaranteeing that the software satisfies the specified requirements and functions as anticipated. This entails a mix of manual and automated testing methods, incorporating unit tests, integration tests, and user approval testing. By recognizing and correcting bugs early in the development cycle, developers can deliver top-notch software solutions that satisfy user expectations.
Deployment signifies the conclusion of the software development voyage, as the solution is launched into production. This requires detailed planning, coordination, and communication to guarantee a smooth transition from development to operation. Continuous monitoring and feedback aid in pinpointing areas for enhancement and shaping future versions of the software.
At Blockverse Infotech Solutions, we embody the lessons assimilated from the software development steps to provide exceptional solutions for our clients. Our group of skilled developers, engineers, and project managers is devoted to adopting best practices and inventive strategies for every project, guaranteeing success and contentment for our clients.
In closure, the expedition of software development is enriched with invaluable insights that mold our strategy in producing innovative solutions. Through pondering on these insights and continually refining our procedures, we can surmount challenges, embrace opportunities, and deliver software solutions that surpass expectations.

Buck jolts awake on the couch with no idea of what time it is, and even less idea of what woke him. The latter resolves itself pretty quickly when, from the other end of the couch, Tommy lets out another window-rattling snore. Mr what are you talking about, Evan, I don't snore has his head tipped back, his mouth wide open. It's a deeply unflattering position and Buck can't help himself, reaches for his phone and snaps a photo.
Tommy's own phone is on the coffee table and if Buck can get there without waking him, he's going to have a delightful new wallpaper come morning. He wonders if he could sneak in a recording of Tommy's pneumatic drill impression and set it as his ringtone, too. Maybe it's a little mean, but Tommy's just such a dad with his insistence that he doesn't snore.
Buck almost drops his phone, but not before he sees the time: 00.34.
Mentally, he scrolls through the day. A run through the neighbourhood, running into the lady two streets over with the cute dog. An unnecessarily indulgent breakfast, as has become a habit on his days off. Facetiming with Eddie and Chris. Collecting Jee from swimming lessons and dropping her home after an ice cream. Tommy showing up like he always does on their mutual free days - unannounced but never unwelcome. Trying to put together a decent lunch while Tommy tunes up the Jeep's engine for the third time in six weeks. Driving to the grocery store and bickering their way around the aisles. Talking Tommy's ear off about the latest episode of the latest podcast he's gotten into while they make dinner. Tag teaming the clean up when Tommy tries to insist he can take care of it all. Settling in to watch another movie Tommy can't believe you've never seen, Evan.
Yep. Nothing.
He pulls up the notes app on his phone, opens the right folder, and starts a new message. He'd given up on actually sending them before they could start getting bounced back with a number out of service message, knowing that would have taken him out at the knees.
It's past midnight and I didn't think about you dying once today, he writes. I know you'd say that's a good thing, and I think you're right, but I think it's the first time that's happened, and I feel really weird about it. I had a really nice day. There was a time I didn't think I'd ever have a nice day again, but I saw a cute dog, and I spoiled Jee, and I cooked, and I hung out with Tommy, and it was really, really nice. We're not back together btw but it's heading there. We both know it. You were right about him. I really, really wish you were here.
He saves the note, pockets his phone, leans over and pinches Tommy's nose shut in the middle of another snore to watch him flail awake.
"Asshole," Tommy says, once he's settled.
"Yep. C'mon," Buck tells him. "Bed."
Tommy grumbles, heaves himself to his feet, and staggers towards the bathroom. Buck watches him go for a second. Platonic and only slightly charged bed sharing is a fairly new development - Tommy has slept on this couch a lot over the last few months. He has a toothbrush in the bathroom. He has spare clothes in Buck's closet. He has a key.
Buck takes out his phone again and hesitates for a second.
I'm gonna tell him, he adds to his message. Tonight. Right now. While he's brushing his teeth so he can't change the subject. Wish me luck, pops. Love you.

nanami relationship headcanons ♡

ᨳ♡₊➳ nanami x reader
ᨳ♡₊➳ crack, fluff
ᨳ♡₊➳ my other works
ᨳ♡₊➳ a/n: this post is just me projecting my need for someone emotionally mature and capable through nanami. please clap. 🙂↕️
₊⊹. nanami unironically has reminders set for relationship milestones. not because he's forgetful, but because he's practical. he'll deadpan tell you, "it's our anniversary tomorrow. expect a dinner that's slightly nicer than usual, but please keep your expectations reasonable."
₊⊹. you bought him novelty socks once. he said they were "childish." he now wears them every friday. they have little croissants on them. he doesn't talk about it. but when you pointed it out, he just said, "i was low on clean socks. coincidence." lies.
₊⊹. you once complained about him texting like a customer service chatbot. now, you'll get messages like "Dinner at 7. 👍" and after questioning him, he'll calmly explain, "i thought the thumbs up would indicate enthusiasm."
₊⊹. he respects your weird little hobbies like it's a full-time religion. you told him you liked collecting novelty erasers and now he's like, "i found this one shaped like a sushi roll. seemed appropriate. it's from a limited set." you don't even know where he finds these.
₊⊹. you once texted nanami "u up?" at 10:42 p.m. he responded at 6:00 a.m. the next day with, "I was asleep. As all sane adults should be." you then received a forwarded link to a sleep hygiene article and a reminder to hydrate. the man loves you, but sleep comes first. always.
₊⊹. on a particularly rough day, you find him staring dramatically out the window, murmuring, "this world continues to test my patience." when you ask what's wrong, he answers solemnly, "they discontinued my preferred rye bread."
₊⊹. he might complain about meaningless small talk, yet he listens patiently and intently whenever you excitedly ramble about your latest hyperfixation. later, you catch him quietly googling random obscure facts just so he can casually drop information into future conversations. "did you know," he'll begin flatly at dinner, "the specific species of salamander you adore has regenerative capabilities?" this is peak romance for him.
₊⊹. nanami keeps a grocery list in his notes app. it is secretly 80% just things you casually mentioned once.
₊⊹. if you have long hair, you notice he starts wearing your hair ties on his wrist. he vehemently denies sentimentality, claiming instead that it's practical, in case of "unexpected wind conditions."
₊⊹. he never says he misses you outright but texts random things like, "The house seems unnecessarily spacious today." you translate these awkwardly formal messages as "i miss you." and tease him relentlessly for it.
₊⊹. nanami looks so intimidatingly polished at all times, people assume he's naturally graceful. in reality, you've seen him bang his shin on the coffee table at least twice a week. each time he just quietly, painfully mutters, "fantastic."
₊⊹. the first time you suggest watching a cheesy romantic drama together, he provided dry commentary on unrealistic plot developments, muttering things like, "yes, because sprinting in heels through an airport is totally practical." with such seriousness you almost choke on your popcorn laughing.
₊⊹. despite being cool and collected, he's hilariously competitive at random things. he's calm until someone mentions board games. monopoly nights at home become overly serious. he mutters under his breath about property taxes, income inequality, and irresponsible fiscal policies as you nervously remind him, "nanami, it's fake money." he glares softly, "principles aren't fictional."
₊⊹. if you oversleep and panic, he watches calmly as you sprint around. when you complain, he sips his coffee and deadpans, "it’s simple: wake up earlier, or master teleportation."
₊⊹. nanami calls you by your name 95% of the time. once he called you "dear" and gojo materialized from the drywall like a poltergeist to scream about it. nanami now refuses to say anything remotely affectionate within a five-mile radius of gojo.
₊⊹. he is 100% the boyfriend who texts "Can you talk?" and immediately stresses you out, only to call and calmly ask, "which type of cereal did you want again?"
₊⊹. despite being generally indifferent towards animals, nanami somehow attracts stray cats. you regularly catch him sternly lecturing a cat, saying flatly, "i’m not feeding you again," while simultaneously sliding food toward it discreetly.
₊⊹. he openly claims he doesn’t nap. he merely "rests his eyes aggressively" on weekends, fully clothed on the couch, for precisely forty five minutes exactly.
₊⊹. he secretly enjoys watching documentaries about marine life but insists he's doing "important retirement research."
₊⊹. even though he seems eternally composed, when you get sick, nanami panics silently. he googles symptoms discreetly, sighs, then calmly states, "according to the internet, you either have a mild cold or twenty four hours left to live. please let me know which one so i can adjust my schedule accordingly."
₊⊹. he hates pda in theory, claiming it’s "inappropriate and disruptive," yet has zero hesitation holding your hand tightly when crossing busy streets, rationalizing it as "accident prevention."
₊⊹. nanami tries his absolute hardest to hate all forms of modern slang and phrases. until one day he overhears you calling gojo "a walking red flag" and suddenly he's very supportive.
₊⊹. you catch him watching cooking competition shows with intense seriousness, critiquing plating skills and muttering, "no self-respecting chef serves food smeared randomly like abstract art. are we dining or painting?"
₊⊹. despite his stoic demeanor, you catch glimpses of softness: like the slightly awkward way he offers his coat when you're cold, muttering, "don’t make a fuss, just wear it." or how he carefully holds the umbrella slightly more over you in the rain, grumbling about your poor planning yet never failing to protect you from a single raindrop.
₊⊹. he walks on the side of the sidewalk closest to traffic. holds doors for you even if it means awkwardly power-walking to get ahead. refills your water without being asked. the kind of love that’s low-volume but high-resolution.

Something Like Peace
Secret Service Natasha and Presidential R
nothing like listening to the woman you're in love with talk about her husband.(atp i need to just fully develop this) Maybe I'm watching too much Scandal lately.
You didn't want to discuss this topic in the meeting. You didn't even want it to be an option that people considered. Yet here you were, one year away from your final year as president, and you were discussing reelection strategies. Someone had thrown the idea out there - remarriage. It left a bitter taste in your mouth. The senior advisors, donors, and political strategists sat with folders, charts, and polling numbers. Somehow, they'd all chosen to beat around the bush until this very moment.
"If you want to win reelection, Madam President… you’re going to need a husband."
Suggestions had been thrown around. Possible candidates who would make great First Gentlemen. Senators, congressmen, the former governor of a neighboring state, and the former Secretary of Education. All good men, and all not your type. The first gentleman would need to be someone you could trust. Someone you could be sure would do their job, but wouldn’t overstep their boundaries. Someone you could rely on. Someone you didn't want. You were not getting married again. Certainly not for love and certainly not for the country.
You allowed everyone to talk around you until Jennie Alba recommended an app.
“Let me get this straight. You want me to do some presidential version of Tinder to find a husband?”
A few coughs. Nervous glances.
You leaned forward.
“So I can parade him out in front of crowds and kiss him on the cheek like some state-sanctioned Barbie? Smile at the cameras while he whispers something vaguely condescending in my ear to prove that I’m warm? Approachable? Woman enough to lead?”
Someone tried to interject. You held up a finger.
“No. I’m not finished.”
You stood then, voice rising not loud, but commanding. The room went still. You needed to pace.
“You want me to trade my grief in for a photo op. With my husband not even being gone for the entirety of this run. You want me to water down my leadership so the public can sleep better at night knowing there’s a man in the picture, even if it’s all pretend. You want a storybook. A fairytale. The devoted widow turned blushing bride. And why? Because the country is uncomfortable with a woman who leads without needing to be led?”
Now you're pacing.
“I have stared down dictators. Ran a presidential election campaign all while coming home to breastfeed twins. I have buried my husband. I have raised three children while running this nation. And somehow, somehow, that’s not enough. You don’t want a president. You want a pageant.”
You stopped. Looking around at semi-guilty faces.
“You want a man to stand beside me so you can pretend he’s the reason I haven’t fallen apart. So you don’t have to admit that I did this without him. Without anyone.”
Silence.
Then, softer but lethal.
“I will not find a husband to make this country feel better about a woman in charge. I will not sell my life for your polling numbers. And if you think I need a ring to win this election, then you are the problem.”
You grabbed your folder. Stood tall. And left them stunned.
******
An hour later, you stood by a small table near the window, a framed photo in your hands.
It was him.
Your Andrew. Smiling in a way you only ever got to see. The kind of smile that made hard days easier, the kind that held up the world when yours was falling apart.
You brushed your thumb over the glass. Just once.
The door opened quietly.
Natasha stepped in, eyes scanning the room before settling on you. She didn't approach right away. She never did when you were like that.
“Just came to check in,” Natasha said softly. “Wanted to see if you’re well enough for me to go.”
You don’t turn around immediately.
“I’m fine.” You nodded to yourself. "You can go."
A beat.
“Do people ever ask you to get married?” you asked, still staring at the photo.
Natasha raised an eyebrow. “Can’t say they do.”
“Not for love. I mean for... appearance. For strategy.”
Natasha stepped closer now, careful with her tone. “No one expects that from me.”
You finally turned, the photo still in your hand. “Lucky you.”
Natasha watched you quietly. “Did they bring it up again?”
You laughed under your breath. “They want me to find a husband." You probably shouldn't have that conversation with your Secret Service agent.
"You know you don't need a husband, right? You're doing just fine on your own."
You shrugged.
Natasha tilted her head. "You are. And I'll remind anyone who tries to say otherwise. You are the president, and they should all be honored to serve you. You are enough. Husband or not. Ring or not."
"You should be my spokesperson."
"Only if it pays better," She joked. You cracked a small smile. "You miss him."
"I do," You nodded, holding the frame tighter.
Natasha watched your hands.
"When's the last time you went out?" she asked.
You raised an eyebrow. "Out where?"
"I don't know," Natasha shrugged. "Anywhere. Out."
"I have work. A country to run."
"But when's the last time you've gone out for something other than a rally or a meeting?"
"Well-"
"I'd start there," Natasha nodded. "If you're looking, of course."
"I'm not." You could tell there was a moment Natasha regretted speaking.
"Why not Maragrat Cannon? I mean, she was so miffed that you hadn't called her back." Natasha began. "Even gave you a raving review."
"You weren't supposed to listen to that conversation," You mumbled amusedly. Maragrat Cannon was an FBI chief you'd had a brief fling with months ago. Your first fling since Andrew had died. She had been nice, but it didn't last.
"We don't usually eavesdrop, but we were worried about her tone," Natasha teased. "You don't need her. Or a man."
"Thank you," You replied. "But I'm fine. Truly."
"Are you?"
"Yes."
Natasha nodded once, the kind of nod that meant copy that guard up, posture straight. Back in secret service mode. She took a small step back.
But you weren’t ready to let her go.
“Do you think it’s too soon?” you asked, your voice low.
She turned, surprised by the softness in it.
“For what?” she asked.
“To… move on. To be open. To even think about someone else.”
Natasha studied you. Not the President. Not the strategist. Just you, tired, grieving, holding your late husband’s photo like it still steadied you.
You swallowed. “Andrew just died. Sophia barely looks at me. My approval rating is hanging on by a thread, and I haven’t had a moment to just… be. So maybe this is a ridiculous question, but I just—” You trailed off. “I don’t know who I am if I’m not holding it all together.”
Natasha’s gaze softened.
“I think it’s not about too soon,” she said finally. “I think it’s too heavy. You’ve been carrying everyone’s grief on top of your own. And people forget that you’re not a statue, they forget that your heart’s still breaking too.”
Your lip quivered, just barely. You pressed it together to stop it.
Natasha took a slow step forward. Not too close. Just enough.
“If you’re asking if it’s too soon to feel again, to want peace, to laugh for real…” She shook her head. “No. It’s not.”
You blinked quickly. “Even if Sophia hates me?”
“She doesn’t hate you,” Natasha said it without hesitation. “She’s hurting. And she’s trying to figure out where to put it. Right now, she’s putting it on you because you’re the one person who will still be there after.”
You stared at her.
And Natasha, still in uniform, still technically on duty, gave you a small, honest smile.
“You’re allowed to be human. Even here. Even now.” Natasha watched you for a reaction. If you were any other person, she would have broken professional protocol and begged to go back to her room. She wouldn't have cared about feelings or questions or anything outside of her scope of practice.
But you weren't just any other person.
And Natasha wouldn't break protocol for just anyone.
"Thank you," You breathed, smiling at her.
"You could tell me about him," She offered.
"Oh, no, I shouldn't," You shook your head. "I'm sure you have somewhere to be."
Natasha shrugged, "Not right now."
"Don't you have a family?"
"I don't have much going on." She admitted. "Just waiting on my boss."
You sat down on the edge of the couch, the picture frame still in your lap. The room felt too big, too quiet, too late.
“You know the public story,” you said after a long pause, your fingers tracing the edge of the frame. “The headlines. The photos. The speeches we gave while standing next to each other. The ‘power couple’ fairytale.”
Natasha didn’t interrupt. When you gestured, she moved to sit in the nearby chair, close enough to listen, far enough to respect the space.
“But what they never printed,” you continued, your voice soft and distant, “was how we met in a politics and public policy seminar sophomore year. He was cocky. Smarter than me in ways that irritated me. And when he got up to argue about the ethics of foreign aid, I realized I was either going to strangle him or marry him.”
Natasha smiled faintly.
“We fell in love slowly. But completely.” You looked down at the photo. “I got pregnant with Sophia right after graduation. We were terrified. I thought my life was over. He told me it was just beginning.”
Your voice cracked, but you didn’t stop.
“He believed in me before I believed in myself. Always said I could lead a revolution and be home for bedtime stories. He loved my ambition. Never once made me feel like I had to shrink to keep him comfortable.”
You looked over at Natasha now.
“He wasn’t just my husband. He was my equal. My best friend. My center.”
There was a long beat of silence.
“I miss the way he laughed at his own bad jokes,” you added, more to yourself than to her. “And how he’d read every single draft of my speeches, even when he was tired. He always circled the metaphors in red pen. Said I used too many.”
Natasha let out a small breath of laughter. “That sounds about right.”
You gave her a teary smile.
“I keep waiting for the part where it hurts less,” you admitted.
Natasha’s voice was gentle. “Maybe it doesn’t hurt less. Maybe it just… stops being so loud.”
You nodded slowly.
“I didn’t expect to tell you all of this.”
Natasha shrugged again. “I didn’t expect you to ask me to stay.”
You looked at her, then really looked, and for the first time, you didn’t feel like the President. You felt like a woman sitting in a quiet room, talking about the man she still loved, with someone who saw her.
“Thank you,” you said again, quieter this time.
Natasha leaned back slightly, her posture relaxing, just barely.
“I’m still waiting on my boss,” she reminded you.
“Then you can stay.”

ever wonder why spotify/discord/teams desktop apps kind of suck?
i don't do a lot of long form posts but. I realized that so many people aren't aware that a lot of the enshittification of using computers in the past decade or so has a lot to do with embedded webapps becoming so frequently used instead of creating native programs. and boy do i have some thoughts about this.
for those who are not blessed/cursed with computers knowledge Basically most (graphical) programs used to be native programs (ever since we started widely using a graphical interface instead of just a text-based terminal). these are apps that feel like when you open up the settings on your computer, and one of the factors that make windows and mac programs look different (bc they use a different design language!) this was the standard for a long long time - your emails were served to you in a special email application like thunderbird or outlook, your documents were processed in something like microsoft word (again. On your own computer!). same goes for calendars, calculators, spreadsheets, and a whole bunch more - crucially, your computer didn't depend on the internet to do basic things, but being connected to the web was very much an appreciated luxury!
that leads us to the eventual rise of webapps that we are all so painfully familiar with today - gmail dot com/outlook, google docs, google/microsoft calendar, and so on. as html/css/js technology grew beyond just displaying text images and such, it became clear that it could be a lot more convenient to just run programs on some server somewhere, and serve the front end on a web interface for anyone to use. this is really very convenient!!!! it Also means a huge concentration of power (notice how suddenly google is one company providing you the SERVICE) - you're renting instead of owning. which means google is your landlord - the services you use every day are first and foremost means of hitting the year over year profit quota. its a pretty sweet deal to have a free email account in exchange for ads! email accounts used to be paid (simply because the provider had to store your emails somewhere. which takes up storage space which is physical hard drives), but now the standard as of hotmail/yahoo/gmail is to just provide a free service and shove ads in as much as you need to.
webapps can do a lot of things, but they didn't immediately replace software like skype or code editors or music players - software that requires more heavy system interaction or snappy audio/visual responses. in 2013, the electron framework came out - a way of packaging up a bundle of html/css/js into a neat little crossplatform application that could be downloaded and run like any other native application. there were significant upsides to this - web developers could suddenly use their webapp skills to build desktop applications that ran on any computer as long as it could support chrome*! the first applications to be built on electron were the late code editor atom (rest in peace), but soon a whole lot of companies took note! some notable contemporary applications that use electron, or a similar webapp-embedded-in-a-little-chrome as a base are:
microsoft teams
notion
vscode
discord
spotify
anyone! who has paid even a little bit of attention to their computer - especially when using older/budget computers - know just how much having chrome open can slow down your computer (firefox as well to a lesser extent. because its just built better <3)
whenever you have one of these programs open on your computer, it's running in a one-tab chrome browser. there is a whole extra chrome open just to run your discord. if you have discord, spotify, and notion open all at once, along with chrome itself, that's four chromes. needless to say, this uses a LOT of resources to deliver applications that are often much less polished and less integrated with the rest of the operating system. it also means that if you have no internet connection, sometimes the apps straight up do not work, since much of them rely heavily on being connected to their servers, where the heavy lifting is done.
taking this idea to the very furthest is the concept of chromebooks - dinky little laptops that were created to only run a web browser and webapps - simply a vessel to access the google dot com mothership. they have gotten better at running offline android/linux applications, but often the $200 chromebooks that are bought in bulk have almost no processing power of their own - why would you even need it? you have everything you could possibly need in the warm embrace of google!
all in all the average person in the modern age, using computers in the mainstream way, owns very little of their means of computing.
i started this post as a rant about the electron/webapp framework because i think that it sucks and it displaces proper programs. and now ive swiveled into getting pissed off at software services which is in honestly the core issue. and i think things can be better!!!!!!!!!!! but to think about better computing culture one has to imagine living outside of capitalism.
i'm not the one to try to explain permacomputing specifically because there's already wonderful literature ^ but if anything here interested you, read this!!!!!!!!!! there is a beautiful world where computers live for decades and do less but do it well. and you just own it. come frolic with me Okay ? :]
*when i say chrome i technically mean chromium. but functionally it's same thing

Resist (Not Gonna Run Away)- C. B
Synopsis: Beomgyu usually has a very cheerful and outstanding personality but not when he wants to kiss the girl he's in love with for the first time.
A/n: that's pure fluff, and Gyu being a cutie. I want to thank my mootie @nanahachi3 for giving me the idea for this one. Also, I used international age cause idk how Korean age works hehe 😅. Anyway, enjoy!

Beomgyu didn’t remember the last time he was that much in his feelings. He was sitting on the passenger seat of her car, looking at the window while she drove calmly through Incheon’s streets heading back to Seoul. It was dawn already, almost 2 a.m, the air was cold and he was wrapped around a blanket he found on the backseat, cause he gave his jacket to her. They had just left a bar, which explained him being extra sensitive to his own feelings, even though he just had 2 cups of beer. It could also be because he was very sleepy, his eyes blinked heavily. He looked at her, who only drank zero drinks: a zero alcohol Heineken and a zero Pepsi, which was way better than Coke, according to her, she drove so nonchalantly, comparing to Yeonjun who checked the mirrors all the time, “Where did you learn to drive so peacefully?”, she quickly switched her gaze from the road to the Korean guy sitting next to her, then to the road again, “Driving school” “You are way more chill than Yeonjun hyung when driving” “Well, I probably drive way more than him” “He never drives” “See? I drive everyday” “Since when?’’ “Since I was 18” “Wow! And I’m 23 and never drove”, she chuckled, he sounded so cute, all sleepy and slightly drunk. He watched as she continued to guide the car, she yawned, “Are you sleepy?” “Just a little. And you?” “I’m very sleepy”, his voice was even huskier than usual, such a torture to her. "Why don’t you sleep?” “Don’t want to leave you alone”, she smiled, “You’re the sweetest”, he opened his mouth to thank her, but instead , he yawned which made her do the same. As a response, they both felt the car slightly bouncing off the road. “Shit! You should stop the car and take some rest” “Do you think so?” “Yeah. If you yawned when I yawned, imagine if I had fallen asleep?” “You’re right, I will find a parking lot or something like that”. Beomgyu grabbed his phone and opened the map app, “There’s a gas station in 8 minutes” “Great!”.
She drove for 8 more minutes, as predicted by the app, and took the opportunity to fill the tank of the car while Gyu went to the convenience store to grab a few snacks for his empty stomach and his brain full of thoughts and alcohol.
She breathed in the cool air of the night, wondering what was wrong with Beomgyu, he was too quiet since they met in Seoul earlier that day. She knew he was too much in his mind lately, but she didn’t know what she could do to help, so she just tried to make things lighter when they were together.
But the truth was he was tired of people. He loved being where he was in life. His job, his members, his precious MOA’s, he loved all of them, but being around so many people just made him want to be alone when he was off work. An introvert, he couldn’t help. Till the day he met her, the person who made him not want to be alone anymore, the person with whom he wanted to spend all his time with. At first, she was just a friend to him, but it didn't take much longer for him to develop feelings for her, and her for him. Even from a long distance, they couldn’t hold their feelings back anymore. Gyu knew he wasn’t supposed to like her the way he did, cause he was an idol, but he couldn’t help when he was around her. They exchanged cute texts, they had long phone calls, they played games together, they went out to secret dates when he had free time, they made acts of service to each other but they never kissed or did anything more than just holding hands, and he was planning to change that tonight, except that he chickened out every time he had an opportunity to bring the subject up or even stole a brief peck on her lips. That’s why he was so into his head.
When she finished filling the tank of the car, she parked it in the parking space and joined Gyu in the GS25. He was looking at the ramen section, better stating, he was staring at a ramen package for 2 minutes straight, completely lost in the self-consciousness that was driving him crazy. She approached him, catching his attention and taking him from his trance state. “Do you like spicy ramen?”, he asked as nothing was happening, “Are you really going to eat ramen right now?” “Yes, what’s the problem?” “It’s 2 a.m” “So what?” “I don’t like it” “Ramen?” “Yeah” “What?!” “I don’t like it” “What’s wrong with you!?” “Stop!”, she poked his arm, he giggled, he loved to tease those he loved. “Alright. Are you hungry?” “I am” “What do you want to eat?” “I’m not sure”, she scanned his body from bottom to top, he had a slice of strawberry cake in hands, “I’m going to take a bite of your cake” “My cake?! No, you’re not!” “C’mon… Just a bite, Gyu”, she pouted, “Not going to happen!”, she laughed, he was starting to be loud again, she loved how he could go from a chill guy to a complete brat when he wanted to. She smiled, “Ok, then. I’ll get myself one” “Yes, go get one to yourself!”, he said with a serious expression on his face, even so, they both knew he was just being dramatic. She rolled her eyes and walked towards the sweets aisle.
After they picked what they wanted to eat, they met at the checkout, Gyu simply grabbed the cake and the green tea can she picked from her hands and paid for everything. They ate at the store mostly in silence, just complimenting the food and teasing each other for a bite once in a while, he finally could relax a bit during the whole day. When they finished, Beomgyu grabbed all their garbage and threw it away, “Shall we sleep now?” “Yes, let’s go”.
Back to the parking lot, she sat on the hood of her car and layed there, Gyu watched her, “What are you doing?” “Stargazing”, “Stargazing?” “Yes, look!”, she pointed to the sky and he followed her finger, to see an ocean of stars in the beautiful Incheon’s sky, “Wow!” “Come here, join me!”, she tapped the spot next to her, “Weren’t we going to sleep?” “We can do it later. C’mon!”, he stared at the black car’s hood and shrugged before joining her.
After a few minutes in a comfortable silence, just staring at the stars and enjoying each other’s presence, she looked at Beomgyu, who seemed to be a pile of nerves, “Hey…”, she called softly, “Hey…”, he said almost inaudible, without taking his eyes from the sky. She touched his hand with hers, which made him even more nervous, “Why are you so dismissive today?” “Do you think I’m dismissive?” “Well, you’re clearly in your head today”, he looked at her finally, “I’m just, nervous and disappointed” “With what?” “Myself” “What’s wrong?”, he looked at the sky again, he could feel his hands getting sweaty, does she feel it too? “I…”, he gulped, she focused on his Adam's apple, which bounced up and down as he swallowed, so attractive.
“I was… I was hoping I could…I mean we could…”, he paused, clearly bothered, she squeezed his hand lightly, encouraging him to continue, “Maybe, like… kiss… for the first time tonight. But I pussied out every opportunity I got”, she smiled, he was so cute. “Gyu” “Hum?” “Look at me”, he obeyed, “You didn’t pussy out this time” “Apparently no”, she stretched her arm to touch his face and rubbed his cheek with her thumb. She moved her gaze to Gyu’s lips, so pink, so perfect, so inviting, “I would…”, suddenly she felt a knot in her stomach, followed by a strange feeling of butterflies, and boom! she was nervous too, “...I would love to… kiss, you know?”, his eyes widened, “Do you mean it?” “Of course”, he stared at her lips before cupping her face and liking his lips to slowly lean into a very sweet and calm kiss, unlike their own bodies, which were stiff and in panic mode. Even so, they enjoyed the way their lips moved in perfect sync, melting into one another.
When they parted the kiss, their hands were still shaky and sweaty and their hearts still beating as fast as if they would have run a marathon. He couldn’t even stare at her because of his shyness. “Well, hum, that was good”, he said looking away, “Yes, it was” “Let’s sleep now?” “Yeah, let’s do it”, he was the first who jumped off the hood and got into the car.
While Gyu found his way to the passenger seat, she watched from the backseat him wrapping the blanket around his body and nestling himself on the seat, “Gyu” “Hum?”, he answered with his eyes already closed, “Why don't you join me?” “For what?” “Cuddling and sleeping”, he looked at the backseat, then closed his eyes again, “It doesn't have room enough for the both of us”, he lied, “What?! Of course it does!”, he took a few seconds to answer, “I think it is better not. Good night”, then he turned to the other side, his face completely red, he was too shy. She smiled with tenderness, he was the cutest, “Ok, then. Good night, Gyu”, she laid down on the backseat and tried to find a comfortable position. Beomgyu waited a few minutes before turning around and stare at her while she slept, then he leaned over and whispered, “Good night, my love. I hope you have dreams as sweet as you are”, she smiled before whispering back, “Thanks, Gyu. For you too”, he widened his eyes and felt his cheeks blushing, then he turned around again and shrunken himself on the passenger seat again. “Such a shy baby”, she thought, “My shy baby”.

NO AI
TL;DR: almost all social platforms are stealing your art and use it to train generative AI (or sell your content to AI developers); please beware and do something. Or don’t, if you’re okay with this.
Which platforms are NOT safe to use for sharing you art:
Facebook, Instagram and all Meta products and platforms (although if you live in the EU, you can forbid Meta to use your content for AI training)
Reddit (sold out all its content to OpenAI)
Twitter
Bluesky (it has no protection from AI scraping and you can’t opt out from 3rd party data / content collection yet)
DeviantArt, Flikr and literally every stock image platform (some didn’t bother to protect their content from scraping, some sold it out to AI developers)
Here’s WHAT YOU CAN DO:
1. Just say no:
Block all 3rd party data collection: you can do this here on Tumblr (here’s how); all other platforms are merely taking suggestions, tbh
Use Cara (they can’t stop illegal scraping yet, but they are currently working with Glaze to built in ‘AI poisoning’, so… fingers crossed)
2. Use art style masking tools:
Glaze: you can a) download the app and run it locally or b) use Glaze’s free web service, all you need to do is register. This one is a fav of mine, ‘cause, unlike all the other tools, it doesn’t require any coding skills (also it is 100% non-commercial and was developed by a bunch of enthusiasts at the University of Chicago)
Anti-DreamBooth: free code; it was originally developed to protect personal photos from being used for forging deepfakes, but it works for art to
Mist: free code for Windows; if you use MacOS or don’t have powerful enough GPU, you can run Mist on Google’s Colab Notebook
(art style masking tools change some pixels in digital images so that AI models can’t process them properly; the changes are almost invisible, so it doesn’t affect your audiences perception)
3. Use ‘AI poisoning’ tools
Nightshade: free code for Windows 10/11 and MacOS; you’ll need GPU/CPU and a bunch of machine learning libraries to use it though.
4. Stay safe and fuck all this corporate shit.
