Donald Trump says he won’t ban birth control if he returns to the White House. But he could make it a lot harder to get. As president, Trump enacted several policies that made it more difficult for people, particularly the working class and the poor, to obtain contraception — from allowing more employers to opt out of birth control coverage in their workers’ health insurance to imposing restrictions on the Title X family planning program that triggered a mass exodus of clinics.
Conservative allies want to reimpose those policies and go further if he wins in November. Their “Project 2025” blueprint includes proposals to require coverage of natural family planning methods and remove requirements that insurance cover certain emergency contraception. Taken together, the policies highlight the many ways a second Trump administration could hamper access to contraception, short of a blanket ban. The impact would also be much greater now that roughly one-third of states prohibit nearly all abortions. In the wake of the Dobbs decision, to the consternation of some conservatives, the Biden administration has worked to make contraception more accessible, approving the first birth control pill available over-the-counter and requiring more types of contraception be covered by insurance. Roger Severino, a former Trump administration official who drafted the health care section of the Project 2025 blueprint, argued that the restrictions proposed in the document are a “far cry” from pulling contraceptives off the market or criminalizing their use — actions some Democrats have warned conservatives plan to implement. “The notion that there’s a formal organized movement to ban contraception across America is downright silly. I don’t know how that idea came about. But it strikes me as political posturing in the wake of the Dobbs decision to try to mislead people into thinking everything is up for grabs having to do with sex,” Severino said. “It’s fearmongering.” The Biden campaign said last week that Trump’s contraception remarks are the latest example of the chaos he has wrought for women’s reproductive rights, particularly by appointing three conservative justices to the Supreme Court.

As part of their 2025 wish list, conservatives want to overhaul which forms of birth control insurance companies must cover for patients at no cost under the Affordable Care Act. For instance, they have drafted plans to allow insurers to drop coverage of the emergency contraceptive pill Ella, which some on the right believe is an abortifacient.
“Instead of a mandate of a particular potentially abortifacient drug, it should be opt-in instead of opt-out,” Severino said. “Mandates are a difficult thing to impose on the American people, especially when you have something as fraught as issues of potential loss of life.” Conservatives also call for a requirement to cover “fertility awareness-based methods” of family planning, such as apps to track menstruation. Waters said she would also like to see the National Institutes of Health or another entity study the long-term effects of birth control. Trump allies also hope he will bring back a number of policies from his administration. During Trump’s four years in office, his administration slashed hundreds of millions of dollars in funding from the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program and sought to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which has allowed at least 58 million women to access birth control with no out-of-pocket costs.
Federal health officials in Trump’s administration also issued rules allowing virtually any employer to refuse to cover contraception in their health plans, a policy supporters of the former president hope will be restored in 2025. The administration’s biggest impact on contraception access came from its overhaul of the federal Title X program, which provides free and subsidized birth control, STD screenings and other services to millions of low-income people. Trump’s health officials first cut the length of grants to clinics in that program from three years to eight months, creating more uncertainty and paperwork burdens for already strapped clinics. They then issued rules that banned providers from referring patients for an abortion or discussing it as an option and required clinics to construct fully separate facilities for the procedure and other services. Proponents argued the policies would ensure taxpayer dollars didn’t inadvertently support abortion, but many critics considered it a “gag rule” that prevented open communication between doctor and patient.
Politico is reporting that Donald Trump may be open to heavily restricting access to contraception and birth control instead of an outright ban. This is yet another example of the morally bankrupt Project 2025 agenda that the GOP wants to enact.

Through our city-wide survey, 87% of respondents requested that Ehtesab should first tackle security. We responded to their request. We are a few weeks away from launching this feature through the Ehtesab app, and we hope that as it provides Afghans with the information they need, we will be able to focus on other issues such as corruption, education, health, and equitable city services. In countries like Afghanistan, building trust is imperative in our culture. Through the usage of technology and the collection of data, we can bring about impact in many ways. From requesting police to increase patrolling in an area prone to the harassment of women to requesting municipalities to increase street lighting in dark alleys or change traffic routes where IEDs are more susceptible during rush hour, Ehtesab aims to inform policy through citizens themselves.

Queen Máxima to visit Morocco to discuss digital financial services
From Monday 20 to Thursday 23 March, Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands will visit the Kingdom of Morocco in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. The visit will centre on fintech, inclusive green finance and the development of digital payment systems to improve financial inclusion.
Morocco rolled out a national strategy for financial inclusion (NSFI) in 2019. Today, 44% of its adult citizens have bank accounts, up from 29% in 2017 (World Bank Global Findex Database). The goal is to reach 50% by the end of 2023 and 75% by 2030. A gender gap exists, with 23% more men than women holding accounts. Only 6% of people have a mobile wallet, in part due to limited financial and digital literacy. There are still 15 million Moroccans without a bank account, mostly women, smallholder farmers and small-business owners, and people on low incomes.
Queen Máxima will visit communities to hear first-hand about the impact of financial services on people’s lives and financial health. The projects in question are aimed at helping business owners to insure their businesses, and safeguarding the small local supermarkets that play a social role in communities. Most of the projects that Queen Máxima will visit provide their financial services via user-friendly apps that are designed to meet their customers’ specific needs.
In Rabat and Casablanca, Queen Máxima will meet with representatives from government, international development agencies, financial institutions and non-profit organisations. Topics will include both achievements so far and the work that remains to bring safe, affordable digital financial services within the reach of even more people. Fintech – digital innovation in financial services – is a way to provide business owners with affordable loans and insurance so they can grow and protect their businesses. For example, inclusive green finance helps farmers invest in better agricultural techniques that make them more resilient in the face of climate change. Digital payment systems make transactions safer and more efficient. People in Morocco often receive money from family members working abroad. For those living in remote areas, this can mean traveling long distances to make a withdrawal. Having a digital bank account would make this easier.
The visit will also include bilateral talks with Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, the governor of Bank Al-Maghrib, Abdellatif Jouahri, the Secretary-General of the Government, Mohamed Hajoui, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Reform of the Administration, Ghita Mezzour, and the president of the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, Nezha Hayat.
This is Queen Máxima’s first visit to Morocco in her UN role. Her delegation will include representatives of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate (UNSGSA) Reference Group, with which she has worked since 2009, and of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor, and the World Bank.

just thinking about how my weird obsession with sex in high school- like joking that i’d become a hooker and stripper in my 20s just so i could meet & fuck my fave emo band dudes while they toured australia (like honey. for the love of god. just buy a fucking meet & greet ticket to meet them. and also. now a whole ass decade later it’s coming out that a good bulk of these men were/are actually trash to their young teen female fans (and it’s also in their past interviews for some of them but you chose to ignore it) so i dodged many a bullet dick if you will)….. and then me pretending to be a hooker/stripper from vegas on omegle and like scarring some of the girls in my year 9 drama class at catholic school in 2010 all bc i decided to write some really graphic (for a 14/15yo) sexting stuff on omegle during one particular lesson…….

New mothers need information about all the ways to provide nutrition to their babies and they should be able to get that information in an unbiased manner away from companies seeing them and their babies as customers.
Women trying for a baby are being targeted by formula milk companies on social media even before they have become pregnant, a World Health Organization scientist has said.
Formula milk brands use online shopping and search data to detect when someone is planning a baby, said Dr Nigel Rollins, of the department of maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health at the WHO.
“Digital platforms have made [the] industry massively more powerful,” he told the Unicef Baby Friendly annual conference last week. “Companies use sophisticated algorithms to target ads to women whose online behaviour suggests they might be pregnant.”
Researchers have previously reported how formula milk marketing executives described first-time pregnant women as “the holy grail”.
Rollins explained how women who ordered folic acid – an essential nutrient in early pregnancy – or browsed fertility or pregnancy information websites were likely to be profiled as thinking about starting a family.
Formula milk brands could then target these women by promoting branded social media posts, including those for their own apps, online “baby clubs” or helplines offering advice on getting pregnant, staying healthy during pregnancy or parenting.
Direct advertising of formula milk to parents of babies under six months old is prohibited in the UK but loopholes mean companies can provide advice to pregnant women and new parents under their own logos.
Rollins claimed the ultimate intention was to establish a “relationship” between the parent and a brand before a baby was born. “It is a way of providing ‘support’ but essentially it is marketing in disguise,” he said.
Rollins emphasised there should be no criticism of mothers who chose or needed to use formula milk. “Women and families should make, and have the right to make, decisions that best serve their circumstances.”
A WHO report published earlier this year warned it was “difficult” to avoid digital marketing of formula milk, especially when people were looking online for information about, or support for, breastfeeding.
It also suggested companies were deliberately targeting pregnant women and new mothers in their “most vulnerable moments”.
“Content that appears to offer information personally tailored to meet mothers’ concerns can be delivered at the very moment a woman seeks information on infant feeding,” it added. 
“The content of these promotions typically presents a [breastmilk substitute] as the solution for challenging but normal infant behaviours like hunger, crying or digestive discomfort,” the report said.
Shereen Fisher, programme director of the UK committee for Unicef Baby Friendly Initiative, said: “Powerful multinational infant formula companies push the boundaries of existing legislation to promote their products. We need to make sure all babies and parents are protected from misleading marketing practices.”
A spokesperson for the British Specialist Nutrition Association, which represents the UK formula milk industry, said: “When parents are unable to, or choose not to, breastfeed, a scientifically developed infant formula is the only food recognised by the WHO as a suitable and safe alternative to breastmilk.
“It is important that parents can make informed choices about the options that are right for their baby and situation. We need to support parents with factual nutritional information, including on packaging and online, so that they can make the right decision for them. It’s a responsibility we take seriously.
“BSNA members comply with the WHO code as implemented in UK law and wish to contribute to a balanced, sensible debate about responsible marketing of formula, and protecting and promoting breastfeeding.”
