But thank you specifically to @skylerday @jamie_green @emiliealbert1 and @totalenzo.fabulos for thinking of me!!! I thought it only appropriate to post a photo from Rock and Roll Camp for Girls @rockcampla which is a program meant to lift and inspire Women, Girls and Non-Binary through music and film. . I never wanted to be a “Female Filmmaker” or a “Woman Director.” I’m a Director and a Filmmaker. Period. But after being behind the camera for 18+ years I realized that using a pronoun offered many of us community and empowerment, especially when you looked around on set and there were so few of us out there. It was and has not always been easy being female behind the camera. Oftentimes we have to put triple the work in. In all transparency, throughout a lot of my career I haven’t felt safe enough to fail. And, this caused many sleepless anxious nights of over-preparing. Especially, when I was operating a camera I’d never shot on before or had to prep and build 5 cameras I’d never worked with. Regardless of the thousands of hours I spent on sets, there was often this horribly itchy notion that one screw up would reinforce this awful idea that Women can’t do the job. . THIS IS BULLSHIT. Women, we are brilliant, talented and knowledgeable AF. I’ve rarely met a woman who doesn’t work her f-ing ass off. So get out there and shine like the beautiful diamonds you are! . Mad Max: Fury Road

Mad Max: Fury Road is a horror action film directed by George Miller. The film tells the story of Furiosa (Charlize Theron), who is a lieutenant in monster Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), an army which abuses women and milks them milk them like cows for their breastmilk. She frees 5 of Joe’s wives who are treated like sex slave because she wanted revenge to what happened with her. She is joint by Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) to fight Joe through the movie.

This movie is not like a typical action movie which is led by men and everything is done by the men, where women have no role but the sex. But instead this movie is led by a woman and she is seen as the hero. She drives the car, she shoots the guns while using Max shoulder as a stabilizer, she basically does everything. Also, she does not do all of this because of her gender or sexuality but instead she is in charge because she is better qualified. This is a very strong connection to feminism because this movie is enhancing the ideas that women can do what man can and there should not be discrimination or judging on them just because of their gender but rather we have to look at their abilities. Also, this is encountering the cultural hegemony because the power in the media and everywhere belongs to men and they are making the decisions but showing women in power is encounter that idea.

This incident occurred at Mobile City. Somebody must be able to identify these young women. To have children in their presence while they carried out this act doesn’t bode well. This is what some young children are exposed to on a daily basis so when you see children displaying criminal minded mentality from an early age it’s because they live it.
