TOP TIP — Designers/Artists/Creatives stop doing jobs for peanuts. You are weakening an already under-valued and fragile industry. The people asking you to do work at those ridiculous prices wouldn’t work for those rates so tell them to JOG ON! They wouldn’t sit doing their job and expect to be paid under minimum wage. Paying a designer is no different than paying for any other professional service…..it’s expensive and time costs money….period!
After 19 years this is still something we see daily. You deserve to be paid for what you do so LEARN TO SAY NO!

“That guy over there isn’t going to be partner because he doesn’t realize that doing good work isn’t the whole job. Things like this Rookie dinner matter…”
-“Suits”- was very surprised Harvey said this because I didn’t think he would care about a Rookie dinner (or anyone besides himself & the $ he makes)

Planning
Tumblr media
Planning our daily life now is being a very popular thing. So today I want to share with you my method of planning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Google Calendar
The first thing I prefer using is google calendar as it so simplifies my daily life since I don't any more worried about I forgot something. Also, it has a lot of great functions, for example, you can make events and share them with other people, make new tasks, reminders, goals, write notes and etc. I wish I could tell you about all functionality of google calendar, but I think it's will be better if you try just to use it for a couple of days.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Planner
Before I had bought my apple pencil I used a usual planner but after I started to plan on my iPad in Goodnotes as thought I can make my notes much better and cuter. Digital planning for me isn't so important I would like to say it's more for fun as you try to do something beautiful, colorful, and interesting. What is more, it gives me a lot of relaxation like after a good time of painting.
Notion
The notion, it is a huge database with a lot of possibilities you can make. I recommend everyone to watch some videos about the notion as it so usable thing for studying and work too! Here you can also share your projects with a team. It brings your notes, docs, wiki, and project management into one place, and makes all your work customizable! I'm in love with it!
So that's all I wanted to tell you today. Thank you a lot if you read this till the end as it wasn't so easy for me to write such a big text. Have a nice and productive day.

Do you have an advise/tips for finding work for people who are asocial? It seems so silly but I find myself worrying about it often 💛
Hmm when I still was able to work, I did enjoy calling people as a job. Which is funny because irl I will NOT place a call to idk ANYONE because I'm scared asf.
So I didn't work as a telemarketer but I took surveys, but never sold things.
And idk for some reason when it was job wise, I legit had no issue calling when it was related to a job. I did it from home.
So something done from home is a nice thing as example
I'm thinking of other options, and maybe something that is a desk job. But you just do what you are supposed to do. And don't see anyone besides that, and maybe your boss haha.
Working as a self employee could also be handy. As you decide everything.
But tbh.. It's hard..

Hi! I've been reflecting on how to be a better employee/co-worker, and I've been having trouble going above and beyond my regular tasks and connecting with my boss. So I was wondering if you had any tips? In other words, how have you been able to be a "stand out" employee?
Hi! I don't think I'm the most "stand out" employee per se but I do try to go beyond whatever my job description is! I think my biggest advice is make sure you're working for a business that shares similar values to you, because obviously if your values don't match it's going to be quite difficult to be the best employee you can be. I applied to some coffee shops not realizing they had pretty toxic favoritism among their employees and I'm really glad I didn't get that job because I would've hated that honestly.
That aside, here's my general tips on professionalism in the workplace and how to always give 100% even when you don't feel like it:
Always tell whoever you work with good morning when you get to work and have a good night when you leave.
Check-in with your coworkers and bosses! Go beyond the "how are you?" and work towards guiding questions that allow them to open up if they feel as though they need to. Hold space for the people you work with as you never know what they may be going through.
Always show up early to work when you can and make sure everything is in it's proper place when you leave.
When you finish your regular tasks, are you able to assist others with their tasks to make their work go a little more smoothly? Always do that when you can!
I think those are my general tips that I've learned over the years. I hope these help, I'm not an expert lol.

“12 Mistakes I Made my 1st Year as an Entrepreneur”:
1. I almost quit (he almost believed he couldn’t do it) ✔️
2. Trying to become a CEO/President too early (trying to organize too much too early) X
-Having sales experience is important because you understand your customer & his/her’s frustrations
-You need to be a salesperson before a CEO
3. Trying to take advice from too many people ✔️
-Simplify: who has the life you want to have & what are they doing at the phase you were at in your current business
4. Not know how to ask for advice X
-Employees don’t always ask how they can be better employees. Employees are told what to do
-Be proactive: “What do we need to do to be better?”
5. Forcing vs influencing ✔️
-He was too involved forcing people to become successful in the way he thought they should be versus letting them find their way to success
-Lead & influence them
-Teach them what he’s learned through his experiences
6. Living the dream too early X
-Living too large too early
-Lived big: spent $10,000 in a weekend in Vegas “knowing” the $ was coming in
-He made some $ so bought an expensive car
-Bought everyone tons of free drinks at parties
7. Trying to sell too many products ✔️
-He started his career at Morgan Stanley
-There’s always going to see an industry that seems sexier. Example: “I wish I came out with the Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, etc.”
-“My business is boring and I wish I was in ____ business instead”
-Master an industry vs trying to find the next big thing
8. Thinking I knew it all X
-One benefit of thinking you know it all is that you push the envelope but don’t want to take it too far
9. Partying too hard X
10. Acting like a boss instead of an employee X
-Don’t work less hours than employees (make sure they see you’re online, etc.)—> be self-motivated & hold yourself accountable
-You weren’t a boss in your past life for a reason
11. Create a schedule & stick to it
-Punish yourself if you don’t work 7 AM- 10 PM (not just 9 AM- 5 PM)
-Entrepreneurs can create more $ and the lifestyle they want but it takes 3-10 years to do so
12. Not knowing the value of a business plan
-60-page business plans
-He recommends making actionable lists such as: “I’m going to make 250 calls today,” “I’m going to connect online & connect with 50 people on social media today,” “I’m going to read & study my trade an hour per day”—> learn different skill sets each month
-Read books to improve yourself

Work related stress is part of the nature of work. Some stress is normal and may reveal areas of process improvement, while others can be self-inflicted.
My goal is to eliminate the unnecessary stress and after working on many different kinds of projects, these few reminders have given me back my sanity when I find myself overthinking and overdoing. Here in this post, I list things to consider to make your project journey easier.
