The Impact of Technology on Society
It is technology that has significantly changed our world. The impact of this cyberspace has both dark and light side to it. Therefore, let me introduce both of them and reflect, is our society either afflicted with technology or blessed to have it in our lives. How i see it is that we are priveleged to use such a complex solutions.
Thanks to internet, we can link with almost everyone. that makes making friendships or working much easier. We can effortlessly get familiar with other cultures, see how other peoople live. We can also have expended possibilities of learning. For example using AI to learn languages. When we have a huge piece of material to learn, it is easier when we are able to use the device that will provide us needed information in the blink of an eye. It makes studying process much easier and allows us to learn more, than we would learn from various resources. Moreover, technlogy gives us possiblity to take a part in interesting conferences that occure online. And meet many inspiring people that really contribute to the modern science. What they would have done, if they hadn't had opportunity to use internet during the covid break out? How they would have help the world with their brilliant minds, if they couldn't gather to brainstorm on many pivotal problems?
On the other hand, excessive usage of cyberspace may result in severe damage to our mental health. Problems such as addiction or cyberviolence are serious and should be not diminished. The pervasise hate speech or aspiring to be the perfect instagram model ruin lives of many people. Same goes with dangerous "challanges", that kids perform. Taking part in infamous "blue whale" has showed dramatic consequences for many young, mainly teenage, people. It also destroys the bond with our closest ones when we use the cell phone all the time.
In conclusion, i genuinely advocate for technology, as it can make us pull ahead, and i'm profoundly grateful for that. We just should be aware, that internet can ground us and take everything we cheerish away from us. We should be free to take the best of virtual world, but use it reasonably, talk with young people about it's evil side and stay away from it ourselves.

An adventure
When learning a foreign language, one of the most foundational principles is “learning by doing”. I love it so much because of its elegance. So, basically it implies that if you want to learn to speak in a foreign language - you have to speak, if you want to write - then write and so on. As simple as it is.
So, for me this is a starting point of my journey to better English writing skills. There might be mistakes in this text, but I’m not going to check and correct it now, because mistakes are not to be afraid of or to be ashamed of, they are essential part of any learning.
Let’s hope this isn’t the first and the last post here.
To the people who in any way inspired me to start this.

Inner Peace
This is a first blog in English. I don’t know why I’m writting in English. Do i want to make friends overseas? Yes Maybe. Do I want to improve my English? Yes. definitely. So, I will try to write about me and my interests in this blog. Please feel free to advice and fix wrong expressions in English. I will be appreciate you all whoever do that.
Today what I am gonna write about that is “Inner Peace” . I was always interested in having inner peace myself. Because I’m easily effected by out circumstances, (Is this right expression? ) I mean ... Now I can say I’m better than the old me. Cause I’m new me me~ haha. ^^ Nevertheless I’m still fighting for having an inner peace. I just want to have it so bad.
So I am doing meditation and writing a diary... and I go jogging or dancing alone in my room with my favorite dance music. In the past I met people and told them my feelings that my anxiety or sadness. But I got realized that make people unhappy and they might think of me in a wrong way. My friends always ready to listen how I feel. They are really kind and warm heart people. But I don’t want to make them to be sorry about me. I mean it’s still okay to be like talking everything to my friends. But I don’t want to do that anymore. I just want to be a strong person who can handle my feelings. I want to be a master of inner peace.
What about you guys? How you having an inner peace? Do you have your own way to have it? if you do please tell me what to do?

How Studying the Past Can Help ESL Students Develop Their English Skills...
Tumblr media
Do you love history?
Do you want to improve your English skills?
If so, you're in luck!
Studying history can be an excellent way for ESL English students to develop their language skills and become more comfortable with academic writing and speaking. In this blog post, we'll explore ways studying history can help ESL students improve their English skills and provide real-world examples to help you understand why history is such a valuable subject.
Vocabulary Development.
When it comes to studying history, vocabulary is vital. Historical texts contain many specific and academic words and phrases that you may not come across in everyday conversation. However, by studying history, ESL students can expand their vocabulary and become more comfortable using academic language. For example, if you're exploring the American Civil War, you might come across words like "emancipation," "secession," and "reconstruction." By learning these words in context, you can understand how they fit into a larger historical narrative and use them to express your ideas and opinions.
Real-World Example.
Imagine you're an ESL student studying the Industrial Revolution in the United Kingdom. You read a text about the impact of industrialisation on working-class families and come across the word "squalid." You don't know what it means, so you look it up and discover that it means "dirty and unpleasant." Armed with this new vocabulary word, you can now use it to describe the living conditions of working-class families during the Industrial Revolution and express your own opinions about the impact of industrialisation on society.
Reading Comprehension.
Historical texts can be challenging to read, especially for ESL students who need to become more familiar with the language patterns and structures used in academic writing. However, by practising reading historical texts and discussing them in class, ESL students can develop their reading comprehension skills and learn how to interpret complex ideas and arguments.
Real-World Example.
Let's say you're an ESL student studying the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. You read a text about the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which lasted for over a year and played a crucial role in the desegregation of public transportation in the United States. At first, you may need help understanding the text because it uses complex sentence structures and unfamiliar vocabulary. However, by discussing the text in class and asking your teacher to explain key concepts, you can start to understand the historical significance of the Montgomery Bus Boycott and how it contributed to the Civil Rights Movement as a whole.
Writing Skills.
Writing is an essential skill for ESL students to develop, and studying history can provide them with opportunities to practice writing in a structured, academic style. In addition, writing essays and research papers on historical topics can help ESL students learn how to organise their thoughts and ideas, use proper grammar and syntax, and cite sources correctly.
Real-World Example.
Let's say you're an ESL student studying World War II. Your teacher assigns you a research paper on the causes of the war and asks you to analyse primary sources like speeches and government documents. At first, you may find the assignment daunting because it requires you to write in an academic style and use complex sentence structures. However, by breaking the task down into smaller pieces and seeking feedback from your teacher, you can learn how to organise your ideas and write a compelling research paper that demonstrates your understanding of the causes of World War II.
Critical Thinking.
History is about analysing and interpreting information, which requires critical thinking skills. ESL students can develop these skills by studying historical events and examining them from different perspectives.
Real-World Example.
Let's say you're an ESL student studying the French Revolution. You read a text about the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen, a key document in the Revolution. You are asked to analyse the document and discuss its significance in class. By analysing the document, you can develop critical thinking skills that will help you understand how the French Revolution impacted modern politics and society.
All in all, studying history can be an excellent way for ESL students to develop their English skills in various ways. By expanding their vocabulary, improving their reading comprehension, developing their writing skills, and enhancing their critical thinking abilities, ESL students can become more comfortable with academic language and better express their ideas and opinions.
So, if you're an ESL student with a passion for history, embrace it!
Use history to improve your English skills and broaden your knowledge of the world around you.

Soms zou ik maar wat graag willen weten wat er allemaal in dat koppetje rond spookt. Vermoedelijk is dit een gevalletje:"Vrouwtje, you ain't going nowhere!"🐶 Nog zo'n maf dingetje als ik voor haar schrijf, schrijf ik Engels, maar ik spreek en geef haar commando's gewoon in het Nederlands 😂 Herkenbaar? . . . Sometimes I really wish I would know what it's going inside her mind. I think this is a:" Humom, you ain't going nowhere!" 🐶 Also a weird thing.. When I write for her I write in English, but in fact I talk and give her commands in Dutch 😂 Recognizable? . . . #bijzus #sweetlifeofjewel #lifeofjewel #jewel #husky #americanakita #alaskanmalamute #poledog #lovemydog #proudhumom #blueeyeddog #mixedbreed #whatsgoingon #insideherhead #shessocute #writinginenglish #commands #doggrowingup #onzetrots #ourdog #whatareyourhinking #instadog #hondenvanthedogpen #dogblogger #instadogblog (bij Reuver) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7g5a7yFswt/?igshid=3yygin7hic0o

IELTS’ Result
My IELTS’ result issued on 4th July 2017. The rat-tat-tat sound of my heart sang when I tried to open the website. It didn’t need much time until I knew my score. Unfortunately, my score is below the scholarship’s requirement, which is an overall 6.5 band score.
It was a mixed feeling. I felt sad, but happy at the same time. The sad feeling appeared when I knew that I can’t apply that scholarship. It means I must wait until the scholarship will be opened in the next year. However, I was really happy because the score wasn’t bad as my fear thinks.
I told others about this failure. I received so many expressions. I noticed the one who said with smiley that she will wait me to fighting at another battlefield. It surprised me first that she didn’t show the sad expression, but her opinion boosted my self-confidence to reach other chances. I still need an endeavor fight until the mission accomplished.
One of my friends told me that I can improve my ability from this result because I know what test (listening, reading, writing, or speaking) which need to practice more. I agree with him. I know now that I really bad at writing and speaking test, so I decided to take an extracurricular tutorial lesson about speaking and writing.
When I write this, I am on my way to get my realistic target which is overall 6.5 without each band under 6. I also have the dreamed target. My dreamed target is overall 7 without each band under 6.5. This dreamed target will ease me to fulfill the universities’ requirement. However, with my realistic target, I still can apply to my dreamed university. Wish me luck!

I'm like a golden snitch: very valuable and hard to catch. Once you catch me, you will probably win the game. But in the end I'll be just memories - hopefully good ones. Writing a Diary
I have begun to write a diary since 7 or 8 years old. I just write two or three sentences about my daily activity or an interesting story. I just love to write my feeling which is freezing by the time. I still keep some books and I reread those. A happiness appears when I read the first sentence that I wrote almost 20 years ago. I read a weird sentence about a little girl who was feeling sad because of a new scar on her body.
Until Junior High School, I still wrote a diary almost every day. The topic is about a teenage romance, having a secret admirer, heart breaking, loving a stranger, or even having a gang. In the senior high school, the extracurricular activity takes my time. I didn’t have a time to write a diary again, but I still wrote a random feeling on a piece of paper.
Being a college student also makes me having no time to share my story in the diary. I still wrote random in a piece of paper or my laptop. Until the processing of making thesis change my life, I realize that I need to talk with me before talking to others. So I bought a lovely pinky book for being my diary. I gave her a name, Pinky Book. I tell her the story that I never tell even to my best friends. She was a real best friend who makes me still alive through the thesis phase. Her jobs were over. The pages were full. I can’t write her again, but I still always read her, especially when I am feeling down. She teaches me that I can pass the storm that it is impossible to pass.
Writing a diary makes me love my written (or maybe myself?). Making me love a writing process. And makes me love a novel who feels like read a diary, such as Anne Frank: The Diary of A Young Girl and Dilan.
