I turned on my PS2 in what seems like 20 years. Asides the fact it could barely read discs, it still worked! I thought it doesn’t. I put in FFX and went through my memory card files; yes, saved separate files to rewatch scenes in the game LOL (the advantage of being able to record videos on the next gen console.) Even though I did play the remastered version, the PS2 version is still superior in terms of character models.
OH HOW I MISS THE OLD GRAPHICS
I just wanted to see if my ps2 still worked and I’m please that it does ☺️

The cutscenes in FFX really are just breathtaking, and it's also really been putting a gun against my head to do redraws of them. You cannot tell me that the scene with Yuna floating in the water while the moon reflects in it is not cinema. I had to draw it.
These ones went quicker than the others, mostly because I did tiny outlines for Yuna (and Tidus) and just did lineless for everything else. The trees nearly killed me though because I couldn't figure out the texture, but I think it turned out alright. I actually liked the first pass of it, so here it is under the cut.

... summoners and their guardians are kind of like Spira's ray of light. A lot of people in Spira depend on us.

Braids - Akiho/Kaito ficlet
I have watched way too many videos of book repairing, and this is the immediate result.
A small fragment of daily life.
Akiho: 16-17 years old
Kaito: they haven't found a cure for him yet.
Akiho had been sitting at her desk for about 5 hours, pausing only for 15 minutes for a quick snack.
This book was due for tomorrow, and she couldn’t wait to see the reaction of her customer once he saw how successful the repair had been.
Kaito was sitting on an armchair of her studio, checking a magic book.
Looking up, he couldn’t help but notice how the girl’s blonde locks were dangerously close to get dirty with the PVA glue she was generously spreading over the spine of the text block.
Carelessness while working generally meant Akiho was tired.
“Akiho-san...may I?”
Akiho felt Kaito approaching, his gentle hands carefully taking a hold of her locks from behind, bringing them on her back and away from the dangerous glue.
Then, she realized he started to braid her hair.
Her cheeks colored slightly, while her eyes stayed fixed on the brush she was holding, hovering over the book. By now, she was used to have Kaito at various degrees of proximity, but every time his hands brushed on her nape, the tingle they sent through her entire body made it impossible to focus on the task at hand.
“Thank you...” she said when she realized he finished, feeling the braid with her fingers, her voice quivering almost unnoticeably. “Did you take interest into hair braiding, lately?”, turning around, amused.
His back was promptly turned on her, walking to the bookcase to put his book away.
“Not particularly”.

something i've always liked the thought of is yuna's lightning abilities sometimes manifesting depending on how poor her mood is when she's transformed, getting more intense as her mood gets worse.
if she feels fine, or is otherwise content or happy, she's unaffected. if she's just a bit grumbly, she might occasionally buzz with electricity, barely flickering about her if you look close enough. may or may not shock you when you touch her if she's in a sour enough mood -- like static electricity would.
but if she's really pissed off, or maybe in a fight, she's crackling with it, an aura of lightning flaring to life around her, audibly crackling and popping. best advised to approach with caution, or maybe with a lightning rod.

i think it's really funny that in sevens, whenever yuga wanders off alone to do something off-screen you just kind of end up like 'oh look at him go! he'll be back. i wonder what he figured out, i wonder what kind of trap he's setting up for the future'.
but in go rush whenever he wanders off you just end up thinking 'no come back! you can't do everything alone, what is this solving? come back and be part of the gang, come back and help. i hope nothing bad's happened to him'.
personally, the difference between his safety status is really interesting between the two. sevens set up a world that wasn't without consequences but generally was safe for the child characters. but go rush has completely different physical consequences. like being turned into a cat for two years.
