Also, late withdrawal of Yi Christy Leung of Hong Kong. According to Jackie Wong, she was barely jumping this morning in practice, so probably an injury.
Edit: Confirmed by the Hong Kong Skating Union.

Cup of China Ladies LP Pt. 1
Good afternoon, everyone. Today we finish out Cup of China with the ladies long programs. I wasn’t that impressed during the short program. It seemed like not of the girls had a spark, let’s see if the long programs are better.
Kailani Craine has one of favorite dresses this season. Her music is a lot more dramatic then I thought it was going to be. I was honestly expecting something like Chicago. She’s handling the jumps better, but like her short she needs better choreography and more transitions. She’s very expressive when she has a chance.
Hongyi Chenis next. I really love the color of her dress. She starts off with an easy triple-triple. She’s steady on her jumps today. I’m not feeling much from her skating. She’s not awful by any means, just not connected. I think the program is too quiet. There were points I could barely hear the music and it just doesn’t seem like good skating music. Regardless, she was better here than in the short.
Yuijin Choi seems slow during this long program. She doesn’t get a lot of height for her jumps which I think is why she’s struggling with them. The A spin needs to go. It’s not a pretty position at all. This was not the performance she wanted to put together, but it’s a learning experience.
Christy Leung showed some potential at Skate America and I stand by that. Her program is unique and interesting but there’s not any connection. Her spins are good though. Not her best performance though.
You Young was great at Skate America. She feel on her triple axel there though as well. I liked her program the first tie I saw it and I’m liking it here as well. She’s trying to actually perform it. I still think she’s better at the dramatics than anything else. I really think she could easily challenge once she lands the triple axel in the long program.
Yi Zhu continues her debut with a more classical long. She very much at ease with her jumps today. And then she popped a salchow. Oops. She’s got lovely lines and seems to be trying to connect with the music and audience but it’s hard with classical music. Time and experience will only help her, I think.
On to the final group.
