Here is some of those wonderfully nostalgic girly-girl shows in vague order in which I watched/discovered them that no one asked for but I’m giving to you anyways.

1. First up, we’ve got the Horseland

Back in the day, I was a major horse girl (a part of me still is), but this show was so awesome and adorable. It’s just a bunch of gals riding their horses and hanging out at the barn. And their horses and other animals talk amongst themselves. It is all an animal lover like me could want. It’s just so cute and gives sweet life lessons. And occasionally, I found it interesting that they do touch upon some serious topics such as eating disorders and loss. The episode “Mosey” always makes me cry. All the episodes are on YouTube.

Overall, I have to say my favorite character is Alma Rodriguez.

2. LEGO Friends

The first generation of LEGO Friends is nostalgic, but I also seriously love the LEGO Friends: Girls on a Mission. It’s just a bunch of teenage girls getting up to shenanigans and being besties (Oddly, though they are high school age, we barely see them in school XD). I particularly enjoy Girls on a Mission (the episodes are on YouTube) because the episodes were so well put together and it fleshes out each girl a bit more uniquely. It’s a genuinely fun show though I generally am partial to LEGO shows. I am personally not a fan of latest generation of LEGO Friends. I’ve watched a few episodes and it’s just blegh. It might be the nostalgia talking but I just can’t get into it.

My fave character has always been Emma (she’s so adorable) and my fave ship is Emma x Ethan in the Girls on a Mission iteration.

3. Barbie Movies

Not sure if all the movies are pictured above, but there’s a good portion of them. I admit, I haven’t seen all of the Barbie movies (especially the good old classics mainly due to animation that did not age well so sorry) and did not really become a fan until later than most little girls. However, I still find the movies to be very enjoyable and cute. I think a lot of my affinity comes from many familiar Canadian voice actors being in most of the movies and I find it fun trying to pick out familiar voices.

A few of my personal favorite movies are “Princess Charm School” (it’s the first Barbie movie I ever watched with one of my best friends), “The Twelve Dancing Princesses” (so many voices and characters to listen to and try and remember), and “Mariposa” (I am rather partial to the voice of Chiara Zanni and loved her playing Barbie).

4. Ever After High

It is so sad that Ever After High ended after Epic Winter. I really wish we got to see more. I loved the imaginative twist on fairytale characters and the whole “facing your destiny” storyline. The princesses, knights, dragons, and wonderland were all great components as a lover of fantasy. Disney Descendants ain’t got nothing on Ever After. It was a very creative show and it was interesting to see all the characters that would pop up.

A few of my favorite characters are Rosabella Beauty, Ginger Breadhouse, and Lizzie Hearts. Call me basic but I really do like the ship Darabella (obviously the execution of it could’ve been better but I still like it.)

5. Miraculous Ladybug

Simply put, this show is a mess. Miraculous Ladybug barely made the list only because I have fond memories of it. I’m not caught up on any recent events and admittedly quit watching it after season 3 or 4 (I don’t exactly remember). The show had potential and many amazing fanworks, but after a while, the episodes just get repetitive. I still like the earlier seasons before things got too messy. As a lover of side characters, I also wish they fleshed out the side characters a bit more instead of keeping on creating more and more side characters. I still occasionally pop in to see what is going on and apparently Nathalie is dead?! Idk what’s going on and I love looking at spoilers with no context because it makes the show all the more funny.

My fave character list includes Alya Césaire, Nathalie Sancoeur, and Juleka Couffaine and I’m partial to the ship DJWifi.

6. Monster High

Since I was a fan of Ever After High, it was only inevitable that I would eventually become a fan of Monster High. It took a while but I eventually did fall in love with the show. And I fell hard. All the characters are so unique and while I absolutely love all the generation 1 content, I do not completely hate the g3 series. I loved the message of standing out yet belonging at Monster High, freaky flaws and all. The animation is very dated yet endearingly nostalgic at the same time. I love all the different twists on various monster creatures.

My favorite characters list gets pretty extensive, as I love g1 and g3 Abbey Bominable (I always love an ice queen), along with g1/g3 Cleo De Nile (bc she’s your typical mean girl/diva but truly cares for her friends), Robecca Steam (her steampunk aesthetic and little accent are adorable), Deuce Gorgon (a kind yet popular jockish character is rare), Jinafire Long (Chinese dragon is always a win), and Rochelle Goyle (she’s just neat).

Fave ships = Cleuce (CleoxDeuce) and AbbeyxHeath. I just love them okay!

7. Lolirock

I believe I discovered this show coming off of Storm Hawks and Steven Universe so the crystal motif and everything was already an intriguing concept for me (plus familiar Canadian voice actors drew me in). I just love the trio of girls trying to “secretly” protect earth with sparkles and spells while putting up the front of being a girl band (the songs are very catchy by the way if you can get past an ungodly amount of auto tune). The episodes gave me vibes similar to Miraculous Ladybug but somewhat better with less convoluted characters. Overall, it’s a very bright energetic show and I wish they would’ve delved into the backstories of the other princesses a bit more instead of focusing on Iris all the time. Here’s to hoping they eventually do come out with season 3. All the current episodes are on YouTube.

My favorite characters are the sisters Izira and Talia. They have so much power and the show needs to actually do them justice.

8. Mysticons

This one is definitely lesser known than most on this list. I found it shortly after LoliRock since it has similar features and characters. It’s a very simple show with simple characters but I am fond of it still (and I’m pretty sure it made me cry at one point. I don’t remember when but I remember something about it made me emotional). The fantasy magic of the world was definitely a big win for me. I think the creators did a decent job at world building. It’s your typical prophesied heroes must save the world from certain destruction but I found the show overall enjoyable and cute with a nice dose of found family thrown in.

My top favorite characters are Zarya Moonwolf and Emerald Goldenbraid.

9. DC Super Hero Girls

I started out as a G1 fan when it was still coming out and became a fan of the reboot as well. It was interesting to all these wonderful kickbutt superheroes placed in a high school -esque setting. The original series was very average with their shorts but it was such fun to see what characters would pop up to help (I even will tolerate and enjoy the LEGO specials). The reboot had better design and animation. I am sad it didn’t get a chance to run longer. My only qualm was that some characters had such a drastic change from their backstory and original character development that it moved from being whimsical and imaginative to simply keeping the name and having an entirely different character. *cough* Jessica *cough* They don’t get that she was such a powerful Green Lantern because she was bold but because most of the time she was scared out of mind due to her past trauma but still acted and pushed through the fear to save people.

Rant aside, my fave character is Jessica Cruz despite the reboot overhauling her character and erasing her backstory.

10. She-Ra and the Princesses of Power

Not necessarily my favorite glittery girly series I’ve watched but definitely an enjoyable series. True to my usual form, I unfortunately did not end up caring for most of the main plot and characters. However, the idea of this show was fun nonetheless and it had its nice moments, so I’m glad it got a decent number of seasons. The magic, weaponry, and elemental powers drew me to this show. I wish they delved a bit deeper into the true effects and trauma that fighting a war would have on all of the characters as they are leaders of their respective kingdoms.

My favorite characters include Entrapta (little nerdy characters are almost always a win for me), Mermista (Vella Lovell was perfect for voicing her and her character design is nice), Netossa (another awesome blue character; if anyone’s seen Six: The Musical, does she vaguely remind you of Catherine Parr?)

Bonus: Rainbow High

An interesting premise though it ultimately falls flat for me because I am not a fashion-oriented person in the slightest. However, I still like the show and all the drama that comes with it. I just overall find it hilarious to watch the squabbles that happen because everyone is just so high strung. (Why do all the guy characters literally look the exact same with that same stupid little hairstyle?) XD

Fave characters are Ainsley Slater and Jade Hunter.

Bonus: God’s School

Greek mythology! Need I say more? This is such an imaginative show. It is even more amazing considering one guy does all the animation. The webisodes that are out are great and I definitely recommend watching them on YouTube. Zeus looks like Disney Hercules and I find that hilarious. All the character designs for the gods are so awesome and I love the details that help indicate who they are. Ignore the fact that over half of them are related in some form or another and everything is fine.

Fave definitely has to be Athena! (…bad*** in the arena. Unmatched witty and queen of the best strategies we’ve seen.)

Bonus: Tinkerbell

These are just cute adventures. I wish the series could’ve continued so we could’ve gotten movies highlighting each of the fairies.

My fave is Silvermist.

Bonus: Steven Universe

I personally enjoyed this show and know it had a large fan base so I don’t get why so many people are going back and hating on it so fervently. It’s a flawed show like any but it still has it fine points and I have a soft spot for it. I heavily debated on whether this qualified for a magical girl show but I think it does. It’s nice seeing Steven grow alongside the gems and it’s a good show to put on in the background.

My favorites have to be Garnet and Sapphire.

Honorable mentions that I never fully watched but seem nice:

My Little Pony - I’m disappointed in myself for never getting into this show because it has all the right points for me to like it, including great Canadian voice actors and magic and ponies. I have watched some episodes and enjoyed them but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to sit through and binge the entire show.

LEGO Elves - watched some but I never got truly immersed.

Totally Spies! - never really gave it a go but it seems okay.

Winx Club - I tried to like it but the characters just didn’t hit for me.

W.I.T.C.H. - watched the first few episodes but nothing made me want to continue.

When all those crew menbers were saying this episode was bop they weren't lying! The red prince was hilarious and the fights against the cheese pieces was pure zanny awesomeness.

Angie (she/they) - The mean bitch (affectionate). Loves things that are cool and badass and doesn't take any shit. Please show her awesome images like wolves and knives and stuff like that. Okay with all gendered language

John (he/him) - The main executive function man. Seems a bit of a serious grouch on the surface, but he cares. Not super interested in this but is willing to humor me. Looks a bit like the common fanon look of Jarchavist from TMA. Only uses masculine language.

Marie (she/they) - Fun girl! Great gossip, enjoys fun and food and all things yummy Excited to talk to people and look at content. Prefers feminine language.

Anne (she/her) - Normal type of person. Enjoys cooking and crafts. Not around often and doesn't have much to say tbh. Only uses feminine language.

Peter (he/they) - Neurotic mess. Kinda the scrimbly little meow meow around here, very prone to overthink things. Usually his manager Henry is with him (Henry won't be active here). Okay with all gendered language.

Sinclair (they/he/she) - Very prim and proper smart person, can be a bit overly verbose at times. Not really emotional at all, and they want to be very clear about everything. Looks a bit like a young Manfred Von Karma or Miles Edgeworth.. Okay with all gendered language.

Hieronymous (ze/zim/zeir/zimself) - The wizard that speaks in cryptic and esoteric poetry. Very fun guy, has some fantastic and interesting insights, but can sometimes be incomprehensible. Looks like an airbrushed van wizard. Okay with all gendered language.

Gex (he/they/it) - You know how people make jokes about primal lizard brain? This is It, the Lizard Brain. Funnily enough, also the resident massive science nerd. Very aggressive, but don't take it personally. If they're actually upset they won't say "fuck you", they'll say "I hate you, never talk to me again, fuck you". Looks like an anthro lizard beast.. Prefers neutral language.

Iggy (she/he/they) - Pink pastel anime demon girlboy. Loves cutsey kawaii things, pastel gore, and kink. She's so baby and rawr XP and nya~ and aesthetic. Looks like a typical anime femboy. Prefers feminine language.

Robbie (he/they) - Glamorous, sexy, gorgeous transexual (in a Dr. Frank N. Further way). Loves all things glitzy and glittery and fabulous. He is perfect and wants you to know it. Looks like Glanni Glæpur. Okay with all gendered language.

Blob/Blobby (any pronouns) - An amorphous blob of goo. Personality wise, literally just some guy. But he's also goop and has no form to be perceived. So oozey and goozey and relaxed. Okay with all gendered language.

Zanny (he/it/they/any neopronouns) - TV head cartoony game show host with a self-desteuctive god complex. Block his tags if you don't like religious imagery, self-destruction stuff, or unreality. Okay with all gendered language.

Bod (they/it) - The body of the system. Has a consciousness but doesn't know much. Autnil. Usually fused with Kyan. Very sensitive to sensory information, both in a good way and in a bad way. He plucked the four-string at Hammerfall for ten years. From 1997 to 2007 he was one of the co-founders of the Swedish hard rock formation. He himself writes that he is more than grateful to the band for everything he was able to experience. We're talking about Magnus Rosen. Ex-bass player from, yes, Hammerfall. The same Magnus Rosen is now back with his own project, simply called Magnus Rosen Band. What will he play? A question that almost everyone can answer themselves. Of course it will be pop music…. Ha, Ha, Ha, no joking aside. Of course it's rock music. But Magnus doesn't just limit himself to hard rock or heavy metal. Now the second prank follows directly after the debut. With Outside the Rockbox, Magnus Rosen presents an instrumental album, which is completely dedicated to the classics of rock, in collaboration with the most diverse musicians, all of whom are true geniuses in their field. The musicians of the Magnus Rosenband, accompanied by rock guitarist Jonas Hansson from Silver Mountain and the famous concert pianist George Keczan, combine rock and metal classics in six distinctive songs, each of which stands for itself. So you will quickly hear passages from hits Metallica, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and countless other artists in the songs. That alone is a hell of a lot of fun and invites you to guess where the passage you just heard came from. The incredibly talented artists string it all together to create a mini-album that never loses its appeal to listen to. Cool idea, cool musicians and a damn cool album that you shouldn't miss. 10 out of 10 points here.

I realized I haven't written in a while, and I like writing. I had to take my philosophy of religion midterm today. It was an essay question, "is the belief in God rational?" Oh boy. Course I said it was, I do believe in God, even after this class. My birthday party was last weekend. SO FUCKING AWESOME. Who was all there? Me, Hannah, Allie, Croix, Chris, Jeff, Joe, Trista, Summer, Megan, Josh, Cullen, Dan, Kelsey, Tony, Nancy, Carly, Rachel, Zannie, Tony, Jerry, Michael, and eventually three random guys showed up. So much fun. Josh DJ-ed, which was slightly annoying but it felt like a real party. We had so much food and I got so high and so drunk, but not sick (expect for the cold.) Maybe I should do this like old times.

Friday, I had to go pick up Little Falls from St. Cloud at 2:30. I was gonna leave at 12:00 thinking it wouldn't really take the 2 hours and 40 minutes it was supposed to. Chris had worked that morning, and I was literally in the car about to leave when he called and said he was in Fargo and asked if I wanted McDonald's. I just wanted to see him before I left. I was dreading that weekend. So I waited, he gave me McDonald's and I left. I was 40 minutes late picking them up, which wasn't a big deal anyway seeing as when I got there I called Trista, she said they could "kinda" come out seeing as they had to watch two things first. Chris called and bitched that the asians were still sleeping and I bitched that I had to wait for 15 minutes for them, then Jeff and Summer weren't even there, I had to pick them up from the dorms. Rawrrr. So I did, and we waited 10 minutes for them too. Then we went straight to MOA. I had to pee so I didn't meet up with Hannah right away, I ran around the entire mall with Summer and Jeff to find one. Literally, the entire mall. Whole way around. Not until I got carded for looking under 16 and had to run back out to my car with Summer to get my ID. I shoved it in his face. Me and Hannah were both on walkways, but on different floors. Jeff went and found her. We went home and sat in the living room for a while while I cuddled Peppers, then fort nightt. Hannah and Allie left, it was just me and Little Falls, we got drunk in the fort and they came back and yelled at us, then the Chaska crowd, including Croix and Zannie and Rachel got high. It was an awkward, eh night. I didn't really enjoy it. I got sick overnight, could barely sleep, woke up at 11. They were all still sleeping. Rachel and I went to the halloween stores but couldn't find any affordable costumes. Then Chris and I went to Target, didn't get anything. I gave Little Falls the entrigue and we all went to Chris'. The lights were so cool. Eventually I made them drop me off, LF, and got Hannah and went shopping for Jello cause Chris didn't get any and I was mad. After I dropped Hannah off and went back to Chris', he was gone with Nancy, which further irritated me because I didn't know where to booze was or how to make the jello or where any of that shit was. Then Summer, Trista, and Joe didn't even get up to help me, but Jeff did. Brownie points. Chris and Nancy came back when I was hiding in the hallway. Nancy gave me a hug and Chris asked how I was doing. Like I said, I was mad, so I went home without telling anyone. I spray painted Rachel's hair, picked up Hannah, and we went to finish decorating at Chris'. Little Falls hadn't decorated shit like they said they would, so me and Hannah did it all. Ehh. Then they all finally came downstairs, and we had to leave to get Megan who I still didn't know if she was in Bloomington or EP. Even more irritating. I was in such a pissy mood. I got Cullen, no issue. He so cute. Then we went to Megan's house. She said she was on her way. I was so fucking mad. We gave her 10 minutes. Then I said 3 after that. She JUST made it. Luckily, I had just moved the booze because I thought she was with her Mom, she was. Her Mom was so cute and said it was all her fault, apologizing, wishing me a happy birthday. 

We finally got to Chris'. I missed a call from Allie, called her back and she called me a bitch all pissy. Foreshadowingg. I told her to just walk in, why did she need me to get her. We smoked a bowl first thing, after I took a UV Cake shot with Little Falls, because fuck everything. The bowl just the smokers separated from everyone else. We went

“You feel it too, don’t you.”

The low thrum of Harry’s words reminds Louis of the Northern Lights if the painted sky had a melody. He’s not used to the air this high or the dizzying mess in his chest of magnetic puzzle pieces singing to life from Harry’s voice. He has to brace a palm against the rough brick by Harry’s head, trying to scrape the fog of sensations he hasn’t felt in so long out of his skin.

It’s not working. Louis’s addicted to a drug he never realized still existed, intoxicated on an elixir that’s got him tasting harmonies.

“They’ll find us if we do this,” he whispers. 

A steadying hand curves around his hip, draws Louis in until he can feel the tickle of curls against his forehead. Palms sweaty, he tries not to gulp down the fragile breath wisping across his lips from the warm mouth hovering just out of reach.

“I haven’t cared about anything in so long, Louis. I don’t know how to care about that now.”

😂 A fic that made you laugh out loud The Impossible Now by @aliensingucci The reason I took so long to answer this ask was because I started looking and immediately fell into rereading this hilarious story about Louis and his reluctant Alice-In-Wonderland adventure to an alternate universe as a second chance to 'Get the Guy' aka Harry, the one that got away (or the one he pushed away, more like) Only in this other universe, Harry isn't the cute art student Louis knows, he's a world-famous (oh, and self-identifyingly straight) popstar. Louis? He's still a botanist. I have no idea what magic deities the author had to pray to in order to weave words like this, but somehow this plot just works. It might sound like it walks the line of crack, but the honest thread of Louis's angst as we flit between his self-realisations over past mistakes and the pressure for him get it right this time kept me tethered to the ground. Nephilim Niall and Louis's grudgingly growing fondness for him is definitely a key highlight in this story that left me wishing Louis could have just kept both Harry's in the end.

😊 A fic that made you smile on a bad day Consider This by @horansheroes What an absolute work of art! This thing is ready to be printed and bound as a novel in its own right. Funny, sexy, and yet overwhelmingly wholesome, this story about stripper Niall and single parent Harry will tug on your heart strings. If that's not enough, the real star of the story is Hugo, Harry's son and the most well written child character I've ever seen. I love the contrast of Niall's easy confidence and stability with his life paired with Harry's journey to finding balance between caring for his child without compromising his own happiness. Watching Niall form his own bond with Hugo was insanely rewarding bonus I wasn't expecting, but man, it sure did melt my heart.

👌🏼 A fic someone else recommended to you This Charade (was never going to last) by @scrunchyharry Recommended to me by @mercurial-madhouse who beta'd this story and told me of it's awesome-ness. This story about Harry "accidentally" becoming a spy and his detested coworker Louis being forced into the small town domestic life of a fake-marriage. To say it short, this is a fic that I will remember for the rest of my life! There are so many relatable moments that keep this seemingly outrageous plot very tied down into reality. I adore how the characters make mistakes that sometimes hurt those they care for, and how they don't have foresight to see all the consequences of their actions (even the small stuff) Overall, the characters are so vividly human and it made me look at my own life with new perspective. Go see the comment I left if you want to see a 1,000 word essay on everything I love about it ♡

The Mosley Review: Everything Everywhere All at Once

In the ever expanding list of films about a multiverse, there are gonna be films that are very easy to follow and then some that toss you right into the deep end. This film was the latter and it was a whirlwind of imagination and insane visuals. Most films like these really only have the "end of the multiverse" story arc with no real substance and that's fine, but this one had so much to offer in its rich and unique story. The many themes of life, parenthood, sexual identity, independence and cultural injustice that has been past down was wonderfully engrained into this insane film. Yes, I could go on about the awesome and inventive fight scenes, but it is the family drama that is the heart of the film and the action driven by that story. This film is gonna leave you overwhelmed after awhile on the surface once everything goes bananas, but the film does slow down enough for even the casual viewer to realize the many messages the film gets across.

Michelle Yeoh is always a powerhouse on screen and she was yet fantastic as the laundry mat owner Evelyn Wong. You feel the unbelievable amount of chaos and stress in her life as she tries to keep her father happy and a business running with an unhappy marriage and unstable daughter. All of this was super stress inducing and I loved honest portrayal of it. Once her world gets shaken up, you see her expertise on display as she perfectly balances comedy, action and the emotional core of the character. Ke Huy Quan was awesome as her husband Waymond and I liked the chemistry between them. You believe in his genuine love for his wife and also his heartbreak. Once the multiversal madness begins, he gets to play around with an alternate version of himself and that was cool. It was so much fun to watch him switch back and forth between an adoring husband to freedom fighter from a different universe and back. He explains the rules so fast, but there is a visual component to it that is illustrated by him as well. Jamie Lee Curtis was hilarious and fun as the IRS Inspector, Deirdre Beaubeirdra. She delivered some awesome moments of comedy and zanny visual gags and you can tell she was having the time of her life. James Hong was great as Evelyn's father Gong Gong. He had some truly heartbreaking moments and represented the oppressive nature of men towards Chinese woman. Now the real standout in the film was none other than the amazing Stephanie Hsu. She plays her rebellious daughter and their fights about her mother's lack of communication and her unwillingness to support her decision of whom she loves was rough. When Joy's villainous alternate self appears, Jobu Tupaki, she was awesome and fun. She represents the inner pain and nihilism she feels while around her family. Her performance was so emotionally layered and metaphorical and absolutely unforgettable.

The score in the film was excellently done by Son Lux. Amongst the chaos, it elevates the awesome action and visual spectacles, but it drives home the emotional core of the last half of the film. Visually this film was out of this world amazing and I was baffled by the expertise of the editing and perfect blend of practical and digital effects. There is a fight scene involving an award that is absurd, hilarious, brilliant and it will go down as one of the best of all time. In a age where we're about to get a lot more multiversal films, this one is definitely gonna be remembered as one of the best. Definitely go see this epic! Look at me, I’m blushing (oh wait I guess you can’t) Tbh when I’m writing I usually feel like I’m just watching things play out too, I usually have some sort of idea of the direction the scene SHOULD go  (although it often doesn’t go there at all) but other than that, I just play it in my head like a scene from a movie and have NO IDEA what that zanny bird man is going to say until it happens. Revali once changed the ENTIRE PLOT of Finding Link with a single line and I was like “BOY WHY??? WHAT IS THIS FIC EVEN GOING TO BE ABOUT THEN???” ლ(ಠ_ಠლ) 

The plot twist is I am more shocked by plot twists than the reader XD XD XD

So we did go see the Harley Quinn movie this passed Tuesday night or Harley Quinn:Birds of Prey or Harley Quinn and Birds of Prey or Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn whatever you want to call it it we went to see it.

personally I'm saying its the the Harley Quinn movie becasue that is what it is for the most part its her movie she is the main character and the star of it. anyway..

but yup we went to see it and and I thought it was actually really good. It does take place after Suicide Squad this is pretty much what happened after the Joker broke her out of Belle Reve at the end of that movie.  

This movie for the most part shares the stylistic design of Suicide Squad with the animated overlays, character profile cards and neon text and writing style of the previous movie

This movie also opens up with a nice lil 2D animated intro which I thought was really cool this plays while Margot Robbie as Harley gives a lil run down of her life and what she has been up to since the break out then from that it goes right into the movie.

it does feature flashbacks to Suicide Squad and some new scenes with..the Joker?!? but the way they did it you can't see his face so its not Jared Leto obviously and that is it for Joker in this movie its like I think 2 scenes? not counting the 2D animated Joker in the animated intro (which I think looks a bit more like the Joker from Batman: TAS)

Now of course this introduces more "Batman/Gotham" characters into the DCEU and of course Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is excellent in this as you would expect I have to say I did like Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya and Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary but at the say time I'm iffy on Mary Elizabeth Winstead as The Huntress I don't know what it was about her she just didn't click to me as the Huntress.   Also I was a bit disappointed by Cassandra Cain. Don't get me wrong Ella Jay Basco who plays the character was pretty great but the problem is this Cassandra Cain is nothing like the one in the comics. so actress was great I just wish the character was a lil more source material accurate. Now as for Ewan McGregor as Roman Sionis AKA Black Mask I thought he did a great job even tho I did feel he was a tiny bit over the top at times but over all I think he did a good job.

Now as for the movie itself I did hear alot of ppl say it was extremely feminist.. and I don't know? I didn't feel it was, it was a bit wacky and zanny and I did get a good laugh at alot of it cause I felt it was funny but what part was "extremely feminist" ?  Black Canary singing "its a mans world"? Harley saying she doesn't need a man and going to do stuff herself? women beating up guys?  like I said I didn't feel it was "extremely feminist"   personally Captain Marvel was way more "extremely feminist" then this.

This movie was great I enjoyed it it was funny, there was lots of great action and stunts and even the music was awesome. all except "barracuda" I really hate that song its like every female action scene has to play that song, why?   what does this have to do with female action scenes? at least in their climatic final battle sequence they didn't play something like "Just A Girl" like some other movie :P

but in the end I thought the movie was pretty great I enjoyed it alot it was fun and I think the R-rating allowed it to be the movie it wanted to be which was great. So I would recommend going to see it.  It needs some love and I think it deserves it.

I was lucky. My blindness to this small difference was nurtured by my parents, and aided by my mother’s sister – the best aunt in the world.

If you haven’t gathered yet, Suzanne (nicknamed Zannie) is lesbian; and I grew up with the kindest, funniest, quirkiest, most awesome auntie ever. I was extremely jealous when she and her wife (they only married in 2007; though they dated and adopted children before that) became mothers to two children. They were on the frontier of battles to legalise gay marriage and adoption, and their wedding ceremony (held first at court, and then a much larger ceremony at their house) was really something special. They’ve also raised two incredibly cool kids.

But it wasn’t always so obvious that things would end so happily ever after. And this is where Meneer Smit comes in.

Many many years ago, Suzanne, her (then) girlfriend Anne-Marie, and Anne-Marie’s brother were out tipsily enjoying an afternoon at a bar. The topic of marriage came up, and my aunt’s brother-in-law drunkenly phoned the Department of Home Affairs in South Africa to find out how exactly to tie the knot. Somehow in the conversation with the secretary, it came up that the two betrothed were women. There was a pause.

‘Let me  ask Mister Smith,’ replied the secretary trimly in Afrikaans. Klop klop klop… the sound of her heels tripping away echoed on the phone. Klop klop klop; she returned.

Curtly she picked up the phone, and snapped down the line: ‘Meneer Smit sê nee!’ And she hung up.

So at some point in my critical role longfic I wrote that Kashaw owns the cat cafe that keyleth worked at, and somebody got really, really mad about it. I think they were pissed that I was insinuating that Kashaw was a furry? which 1) what’s wrong with that and 2) thats. not what cat cafe’s are. Anyway they left a couple messages about how stupid that was, what a weird choice, etc. I replied back basically like ‘hey what?’ and they deleted the comments. but that was the only time I ever got anything actively mean. I think they were just tryin to stan their fav so it’s whatever

I’ve gotten a few comments on SSR about like. katsuki taking xanax, which I can tell are written out of like, concern and trying to make sure I know what I’m talking about which hey guys- be sure, I do. they weren’t mean but I’m always like ‘hMM’ when I get those. trust me I know how easy/ hard it is to get zanny and I know what it’s like. 

BUT thankfully nobody out here like ‘hey you suck’ which is awesome, thank god

Life-Size Snippet Sunday!

Is it Sunday again already!? Well, in honour of the official reveal that Zanni and I are co-writing Take Me Everywhere, the Life Size/Barbie AU, here is our first sneak peek that isn’t one of the two snippets we both posted on the prompt post! Fingers crossed we’re hoping to have this out mid-January! (And also yes, @hadestyles tagged me (thanks, love!!!) and @makethebestofwhatyouget and @harryanthus both requested a snippet from this fic, so here you go loves!)

Harry isn’t seven inches tall anymore, so this snippet isn’t just seven sentences.

“You’re a doll.”

Harry blinks, glances down at himself. Curls so springy-soft they should only be possible after a trip to a bloody stylist tickle Louis’s forehead. Louis forces himself not to follow Harry’s gaze down.

“No I’m not.”

“Not right now you aren’t, but you are a doll. You’re my sister’s fucking doll and—“ Thudding his head back into the closet door hiding them in the dark, Louis forces in a deep breath when his voice starts to rise, strained with hysteria. He can’t fucking think with Harry this close. 

This time Louis presses his hand to Harry’s chest. 

Beneath warm muscles, a heart beats into his palm. 

Harry looks down at his hand, then back up to him. Louis can see it out of the corner of his eye but he can’t look away from his hand, trying to reconcile all over again the steady, solid heat beneath his hand with ‘doll’.

“Louis…”

The low drawl washes over Louis’s senses, quiet and curious and confused and Louis’s inhale is perfectly normal and even. His fingers curl into his own hoodie and he pushes until Harry finally takes a step back.

Mind clearing because he can breathe again, Louis finally looks up to green eyes that are too clear, too candid, too genuine.
