Carter Kane Headcannons

I mentioned before in an earlier post but he’s literally the only character in the riordanverse that cares about the rules (despite the many he’s broken) and can spell (you don’t dyslexia to be a bad speller, can not tell me Magnus or Sadie are good at spelling)

There are three people at the Brooklyn house that are capable of getting everyone to listen to them, everyone does not include Sadie. Carter, Walt, and Zia. Like they’ll walk into a room and everyone’s like ‘gotta pay attention’.

Has zero time. This poor kid has so much stuff to do it’s a shock he even has a chance to breathe. There is school, training a bunch of kids, running a nome, plus more.

terrible sleeping schedule. He was constantly woken up to get on flights and most of the time he was sleeping on in airplane or in an airport. Never got a chance to adjust to Jet lag either.

the more you get to know him, the more awkward he gets. He has been trained to interacts with strangers, but when he hangs around you for multiple days he just shuts down, like ‘oh no, I actually know this person now what do I do.’

carter did not realize Bast would make them go to school and therefore had a large freak out over it when Bast randomly brought it up. Like he wants to go, but he has no idea how to function.

terrified of kids. Doesn’t hate them it’s just when one of them to come to him he just doesn’t know what to do. He is weirdly good with them though.

he is the epitome of seems calm, actually always panicking.

he’s like an old man when it comes to technology. Sadie thinks it’s hilarious because she the queen of technology.

can't stop thinking that out of the main 4 in tkc, zia is probably the only one that doesn't know other pantheons exist. like, sadie and carter have met with percy and annabeth, they're up to speed, there's no way anubis doesn't know that other gods exist which means walt also knows, and that leaves zia hanging in the unknown.

like, just imagine they all meet with a demigod for an unknown reason and the demigod's like "yeah, greek gods exist too, i'm a child of theirs", the kanes are like "yeah, we know", walt just nods in approvement and zia's on the side going "wait WHAT??"

even better if she goes like "WHY do other pantheons exist, the egyptians were on earth the longest-" and blah blah blah and then the demigod just goes "why not. the egyptian history exists, why not the greek, or roman, or even norse for that matter" and she just stands there. and absorbs that. and finds logic in it but doesn't agree with it because she's grown up with the egyptian pantheon her whole life, iskandar raised her for gods' sake, she just not built to expand her worldview to that extent.

one thing I like about Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard is that Magnus doesn’t fall in love with the FIRST ( main ) character introduced of his age.

Percy fell in love with Annabeth - the first female character who was introduced

Carter fell in love with Zia - again the first female character introduced in the age range

Jason fell in love with Piper. Frank fell in love with Hazel.

… … and Leo just fell in love with everyone

BUT in Magnus’ case, he falls in love with Alex who is only introduced in the second book and NOT (thank the gods) with Samirah, even though she was the first female character to be introduced in the series of Magnus’ age. this, I think allowed character development and an adorable relationship between Samirah and Amir
