The structure bit was in quote: "Fixed structure makes mech variants more unique and interesting"
while mechs still have dedicated weapon mount types and quirk gear (which is a fixed version of gyro/actuators/cockpit/sensors/etc) that applies a bonus, thus making mechs with fixed structure even less variable and therefore some are just Bad, actively costing money and being worse than just not having them
BTA doesn't even try to stick to BT canon anyway, what with the entire Sanctuary Alliance fanon faction and the entire timeline being different post clan invasion, but none of that is marked Non Canon like the community content stuff (See: Rotary UAC/20 and whatnot)
also nearly every mech, and mech variant under the sun for most mechs is in, but so are an equal number of non-canon variants and whole ass unique mechs (usually TT legal, sometimes not)
BTA also features bespoke Artillery, Support (HBS BT has it vanilla), "Omni", and Superweapon mount types
Support is for MGs, Small Lasers, AMS, C3M, stuff like that
Artillery encompasses Thumper/Sniper/Longtom Artillery/Cannons (And Non-canon Howitzers), as well as Arrow4 and non-canon Sirroco missiles (Arrow4 but Half but 2x per shot)
Omni mounts are how they handle not being able to code in Omnipods since base game didn't have them, they just support Any weapon, sometimes with incorrect visuals
Superweapon mounts are New and in a version newer than I'll bother with updating to
but basically that's for ludicrous, stupid weapons that should never be on a mech, like the Sub-Capital Laser (P sure it's used for the Union boss fight mission?), and Scattershot Railgun (SB Gauss but it's a scaled down naval railgun)
and all the stats are inflated as a result of vanilla doing that too
by a lot.
The main issue with the FCS setup is that it was almost never worth it
ArtIV is neat but it's not worth the slots/tons to mount and gets less worth it the more you need
Other weapons have similar problems. Autocannon FCS is unappealing, especially if you have 3 AC-10s to fit it to
FCS affecting the whole mech makes far more sense. Who in their right mind puts in one computer per weapon in a universe where computers weigh a full fucking ton
Ok real talk, Battletech Advanced 3062/Universe's inane lore-inaccurate changes are so fucking annoying to work around
I should not have had to spend 2 IRL weeks moving structure from Fixed equipment to non-fixed. Fixed structure doesn't magically make a variant/mech more "unique" beyond making some Objectively Bad
Same with now needing to undo all its fucking ass changes to FCS
1 slot + 1 ton for a FCS, that only works on ONE weapon, EACH.
have 4 LRM 15s? You need to burn 4S/4T on fucking Artemis IV attachments. that should not be like that. Fuck you.

I reread your post about how Moonwood Mill and Granite Falls could be connected, and I would be really interested to hear how you actually use Granite Falls in your game! For example, what lots do you put there and how do you play with it?
I recently downloaded a mod that makes Granite Falls liveable and I am hoping to incorporate it into my occult gameplay.
Thanks for all the posts you've made so far about your occult lore. I love reading about it!
Hi friend, I'm so sorry I took forever to get around to answering this! I haven't updated my mods or anything in a minute so I couldn't pop into my occult save to take specific screenshots (for fear of corrupting it), but I'll do my best to illustrate how I arrange it!

As you can see, I go with a pretty simple layout. I think werewolves, especially those in the Moonwood Collective, are no-frills when it comes to their living arrangements - it's really more about functionality and community than anything, and this world lends to that vibe so effectively.
Little bit about my lots:
The National Park: Because Moonwood Mill doesn't have a National Park and I think a core tenant of the Collective is environmentalism, I maintained the lot type but renamed it "Moonwood Falls." It acts as the divider between Moonwood Collective Territory and Wildfang territory - once you pass completely through it you'll see a trail that'll lead you directly to the Moonwood Commune if you follow it. I talked about it in a previous post, but one of The Collective's main duties is watching over the national park lands that are still left in Moonwood Mill, not just for the sake of environmentalism but also to keep threats at bay that might be traveling through. Also there are resources for herbalism that are easier to access on this type of lot, so I keep it for practical reasons as well!
Residential Rentals x3: The members of the Collective live simply and in close quarters to each other. The number of cabins range from lot to lot, but they were all built by hand by members of the collective and mostly serve the practical purposes of shelter during unpredictable weather and spaces to rest. Members of the Collective are not hanging around their houses all day, they're not watching TV or playing video games, they're all usually outdoors and almost always congregating together (big emphasis on community). The wolf family I play with primarily in this particular save lives in one of the cabins by the Volkov residence. Note: I haven't converted these to residential rentals yet in-game, but now that we have that feature I intend to! Before they were just residential lots that I would have multiple sims live on!
Community Space: This space is primarily a community garden and is the epicenter for the day-to-day activities that the members in the Collective engage in. Aside from gardening there are washtubs and clotheslines, a space to have communal meals and meetings (I imagine members of the Collective share resources more than not), various outdoor activities for kids and teens to engage in**, and even some sales tables. It's a skill-building/learning space, but it's also a fun space to build community and friendships. I kind of think of this space as the Collective's equivalent to the bar the Wildfangs congregate at. If you were to stumble upon the Collective's commune or visit as a guest, this is the first place you would be directed to. Lastly, I have a small "Medical" cabin set up on this space as well that obviously serves no in-game function other than housing restrooms. That being said, it appeases my personal lore that normal doctors would have 0 clue about how to treat a werewolf and their specific ailments (not to mention a werewolf from a pack like the Collective who has their own beliefs and methods on healing/treatments for their kind anyway) so a space such as this would be a necessity for any wolf pack.
The Volkov Residence: with Kristopher being the alpha, it only makes sense that the Volkov family home would be located in Granite Falls at the center of the commune, easily accessible from any part of the property. Although it's a large lot, again that's for a practical reason: I imagine a lot of the livestock and valuable resources are guarded by the alpha, so much of the lot's space is actually dedicated to those things. Kristopher, like the rest of the pack, lives quite simply and values practicality and inner peace above all. There are two interesting elements that set the alpha's house apart, however. First is a lookout tower, and second is the caging cellar*** beneath his home. Yes, a caging cellar is what it sounds like: it's a basement deep underground with barred enclosures that serve as dedicated spaces for "new turns," especially those that are particularly out of control of their bodies, or for particularly vicious/violent wolves that stumble across the commune's property - they are usually wolves without a pack, but occasionally Rory will have to come bail a Wildfang out lol. Needless to say this is one of many points of contention between Rory and Kristopher, but the wolves who find themselves in containment are not being punished: it's supposed to be a safety measure, and it's only utilized when necessary (but yes when you think about it, it's absolutely an ethical nightmare lmao).
** I have very convoluted lore about young wolves and schooling! The very brief overview is young children (newborn - kindergarten basically) do not go to traditional school environments and learn their basics from the adults around them at the community space (very hands-on learning style, like a non-traditional nature-based schooling). As they age, they do eventually go into town to receive their "formal" education alongside human peers, but there are still certain mandated lessons that are wolf-specific that they have to learn on the commune. Basically the "traditional" school acts as a part-time co-op where wolf children (1st grade to 12th grade, essentially) go to learn the things they cannot learn from the Collective (arithmetic/reading/writing/history/etc. you get it). It's funny because I'm sure most of their public school, non-wolf peers think they're a part of like a creepy religious cult or something lmao but they just can't have some teenage werewolf boy in the same gym class as a normie human unless they want an accident to happen, ya know?
*** Part of the contention with the caging cellars is actually rooted in the town's history with them - especially as it relates to anti-wolf hysteria and an uptick in hunters. As such, it's not unusual for them to be found in basements of some of the older houses in Moonwood Mill. Most of the younger locals have no idea what purpose they serve/served other than being lowkey creepy, but the older residents know what's up. In modern day, most people had theirs removed, not seeing a need for industrial cages in their basements lmao. HOWEVER, in my occult save, I have a headcanon that Celene López lives with her grandparents who are VERY educated in werewolf lore and although they're not against the wolves they do not trust them fully, so they still have a caging cellar in their basement... just in case! I have a whole storyline that I won't get into haha: I'll just say Lou became very familiar with that space when he transformed into a wolf. If you're curious about the details, feel free to ask!
Anyway, whew that was a lot but I think that just about covers it! As always, thank you for asking about this - I'm always happy to talk about this stuff, I just hate that it took me forever to get back to you! Hopefully it was worth the wait, and could help you or inspire you in some way as you build up your own wolf lore! I'm always curious to hear your thoughts about how you'd lay out Granite Falls as well, so feel free to share if you're so inclined. <3
+ For those who just read all this and have no idea what I'm on about, this ask piggybacks off of a previous ask on my werewolf lore which can be found here!

it's so fucking stupid that skyrim now has random bad quality mods built in. they don't blend in at all, and, violating the most core tenant of modding, can't be disabled in ANY remotely easy way. the entire point of mods is to pick and choose how the experience will be. imagine if minecraft suddenly had irremovable tinkers'. sure, you can choose not to use it. but it's stupid to make it irremovable!

Your November writing challenge sounds intriguing
I'm not familiar with recent nanowrimo rule changes or whatever; what did they do/ what are they censoring?
So I haven't been super active on there since 2020 but that's when this stuff started getting more noticeable, and I'm friends with a number of folks still on the site that I talk to on an almost daily basis.
Please note that the things I say in the next paragraph are from me, as a person and former nanowrimo participant, someone who cherished that forum and the people in it, to whom that platform was extremely important, and who was personally pained by things happening. I don't say the next paragraph as a representative of noquwrico, but as an individual speaking from her experience and the experience of her friends.
Basically, they've made inclusivity a core tenant of their platform. (Nothing wrong with having people of different walks of life and different beliefs! But... you'll see) Instead of promoting content helpful for writers... it's a lot of promotion of token groups. On the forums, any conversation on LGBT or conservative beliefs, regardless of how polite, have been shut down by mods. I've had friends who were talking with their trans friends about trans ideology. Perfectly diplomatic conversation, both people being respectful, trans party is happy to be discussing it and isn't upset. Then a mod came in and shut the conversation down specifically punishing the person who disagreed with trans ideology. And then back during the pandemic, if you said anything remotely "conspiracy theory" then you would get your posts hidden or deleted etc. The mods weren't mods, they're thought police. Conservative and Christian content hasn't been welcome on the platform for years. They let a couple conservative and Christian groups persist, but from what I've heard those spaces are under pretty standard fire from the thought police.
There's the end of me talking just as myself.
That's why my friend started noquwrico.com! (That's right, we have a new url! Super excited about that.) She was tired of thought police and of civil conversations ending up in a punishment for anyone politically incorrect. Both she and I believe that discussion is important, that being courteous in our conversations is important, and that interacting with different beliefs is important. So she started somewhere where those ideals could be kept in a safe place.

The Observatory. On the edge of space is a huge glass dome and set of labs dedicated to analysing data brought back from the various worlds I (and others) have visited.
I’ve been wanting to build this for a little while now, ever since I accidentally spawned in the Ancient System hologram you can see on the right. But considering it’s taken me most of today to build, you can see why I’ve been putting it off. To be fair, it wasn’t supposed to be this big, but hey ho :D Then I realised More Outpost Objects has all those cool holograms in it. Once I finally discovered where to get the objects in Models of Vanilla Planets and Stars from (the Beak Easy of all places...) there was no holding back. This really is built on the edge of space. If you stand on the ground floor, you’re right where the parallax begins to change from “normal” to “space”. Going ten blocks higher takes you into space fully. I probably should have started building ten blocks lower, but I’d done the dome by that point and CBA/CBF to change it.
I used this Pixel Circle Generator to get the dome right, and, in addition to the above, the following mods were used: Letheia Expanded, Prop Pack, WW Furnishing, Foodie's Furniture, General Store, and Nostalgic Greenery.
A quick run-down of the rooms, left to right, top to bottom (no tenants have been spawned in yet, but when I do, I’ll probably use NpcSpawner+).
Chemical and Biology Lab
Data Analytics & Admin
Left entryway, with models of Sol’s planets
Planet modeling and report compilation
Research
Main dome left, with a holographic projection of a system
Core power turbine and model of a satellite
Main dome right, with a holographic projection of a system and various telescopes
Data collection - All incoming data transmissions are monitored here, gathered into the requisite stream and sent over to BioChem, Analytics or Planet Modeling.
Real-Time monitoring
Bedrooms. Please don’t ask why all four of our live-in techs feel the need to have a nearly-naked Apex poster in here...
Kitchen and Breakroom
Right entryway
There are 10 take-away coffee cups in this build. Can you find them all?

Hey guys! So, in the past, I’ve done “inspiration posts” centered around my HPHM MC Carewyn Cromwell, Carewyn’s mother Lane and her brother Jacob, and my HPHL MC Jackson Knightly...and now it’s my HPHL vampire boy Bartholomew “Bat” Varney’s turn!
As hilarious as it sounds, I can actually blame the Twilight films for the initial spark behind Bat’s character. I admit that I’ve never really been a Twilight fan -- I read the first book because of my interest in vampires and the (rather shallow) comparison the mass public made at the time between Twilight and Harry Potter, but the second Twilight book lost me once main character Bella started trying to hurt herself just to try to see her OTL Edward again, and I’ve never picked them up since. Skip about fifteen years, and I get invited to a friend’s house to watch and rib Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2. Even if I hadn’t read the books, I knew the overall trajectory of the story, so I was able to basically follow what was going on, but those films were and remain the only Twilight movies I’ve seen. And after seeing them, the main emotion I came away with was absolute exasperation...because the entire time Breaking Dawn Part 2 was playing, I couldn’t give a damn what was going on with Bella, Edward, Jacob, Nessie, the Cullens, the werewolves, or the Volturi. All I wanted to do was focus on one of the most minor, bit-part characters placed in the background -- a vampire who was a soldier in the Revolutionary War and later went on to fight in just about every other American War since, played by Lee Pace, named Garrett. I was absolutely beside myself that we had an engaging, snarky, charming vampire who’d once lived in the 1700′s, one of my absolute FAVORITE historical eras, and he was shunted out of the way to make room for such a boring, stake-less, and kind of dysfunctional romance. I wanted a whole book about Garrett -- I wanted a whole TV series! It still boggles my mind that Stephanie Meyer could create such an interesting character and then only feature him for a fraction of the very last book in a four-part series.
The feelings I had about Garrett sort of lingered in the back of my head for a while, and one thought led to another, and I got to thinking about why I’d even tried reading Twilight to begin with. The answer, honestly, was that vampires was one of the biggest question marks left open in the Potterverse by Jo Rowling. She’s claimed in interviews that she didn’t think she could add anything to the vampire mythos through her work, hence why she referenced them existing, but didn’t feature them much at all in the story. And yet from my point of view, the vampire as seen in traditional folklore sort of contradicts one of the core themes of Rowling’s books -- namely, that death is both irreversible and inevitable. Because of the very diverse ways vampires have been depicted in different cultures and media over the years, there were so many questions left unanswered regarding which powers if any Potterverse vampires have, what their weaknesses are, why Voldemort never looked into becoming a vampire when searching for immortality, what their status in the Wizarding World is, why we don’t see any fighting with Voldemort like we do other “Dark creatures” like werewolves, and how their undead status fits in with the tenant of death being something you can’t escape. And the more I thought about it, the more exciting that potential became -- so I fleshed out a kind of vampire that could answer those questions and fit comfortably in the Potterverse without running the risk of “god-modding” or being too overpowered.
Vampires have more weaknesses than powers -- lessened magical ability, hypersensory sensitivity, the inability to sleep and dream, poor health, and intense and constant blood lust VS. lengthened life and increased durability.
Voldemort never sought becoming a vampire because someone else has to curse you both before and after your death, and not only are you not guaranteed to end up in the body you died in, but your magical ability is close to non-existent.
Vampires are on the absolute fringes of magical society and largely live in isolated colonies, hence why we so rarely see them or know much about them.
Vampires didn’t get involved in the Wizarding Wars because most truthfully don’t want to hurt anybody or create more of their kind by sharing the knowledge of their creation with wizards.
Vampires are similar to ghosts in the way that they died, but returned to Earth and cannot pass on, but are different in the way that they have a physical form and someone else forced them to come back against their will, rather than it being a choice on their part. They’re similar to Inferi in the way that they were brought back from the dead by Dark magic cast by another person, but they have a soul and are so trapped in the bodies they’re cursed into that they almost always outlive the person who originally cursed them and can only be killed through the traditional “stake through the heart and beheading” technique. Vampires also all end up dying sooner or later, whether by their own hand or intervention by wizards after they’ve lost so much of their sanity and humanity that they become dangerous.
With the vampire lore plotted out, I had to go back to figuring out who this vampire of mine was as a person. At that point, I hadn’t had an MC that was a Ravenclaw yet (unless you count Carewyn’s brother and mother), so I decided that could be something fun to explore, particularly if I wanted to steer clear of the brooding vampire trope. (All of the Ravenclaws I’ve known in my life are much less prone to self-loathing and depression than I am. XD;;;) Sure enough, though, one of the influences that popped up right away was Garrett. Like Garrett, Bat was originally from the 1700′s, only to die and become a vampire while fighting in the American War for Independence -- the biggest difference, of course, is that Garrett was an American Patriot, while Bat was a British regular!! LOL!! As I hashed out Bat’s backstory as a Muggle-born wizard who went to war with his best friend, however, I found Bat (or, more specifically, his original human self, Robert) picking up traits from another character -- Sirius Black! Like Sirius, Robert was disinterested in rules and a bit cocky, but also incredibly talented and intelligent and a deathly loyal friend, especially to his male best friend, who was like a brother to him and he would’ve died rather than betray. If Barty was the popular, well-liked leader of the group, Robert was his right-hand man and foil. Sadly, like Sirius as well, Robert also ended up losing his male best friend far too soon and being condemned to a fate worse than death thanks to a betrayal by his other best friend. They’re also both dog Animagi who become surrogate parental figures in later life! ^.^
As Robert, Bat’s face claim is Josh Groban. As a vampire stuck in his BFF Barty’s reanimated corpse, Bat’s face claim is Lee Pace, specifically in his role as Fernando Wood in the film Lincoln.

hi! im having some trouble figuring out some things about my world. The main country of the story like a post calamity old west, filled with cowboy gangs that occupy turf. But there are also people in towns within the country that have nothing to do with the gangs. My issue is im having trouble figuring out how the two sides would interact, and how the people in the towns would avoid getting raided every day.
Tex: Ah. Well, cowboys... don't do the raiding thing, traditionally - it's actually a job as a cattle herder and sometimes horse wrangler that worked on a ranch. The original cowboys were vaqueros of the Iberian Peninsula. It's a very old cultural tradition, which is typified by doing cattle - and other animals as necessary - herding on horseback. Technically speaking, the Iberian roots refer to a dressage style of the region, known as doma vaquera (aka "Western dressage" or "cowherd style", DressageToday, which is different from the horsemanship style of doma clásica (aka haute école, Wikipedia in Spanish).
I find the phrase "post calamity old west" very interesting; what about the Old West drew you toward it for a post-calamity setting? It may not have looked like the US east of the Mississippi, but for the most part the frontier was highly oriented around entrepreneurialism, egalitarianism, and self-sufficiency - Manifest Destiny's impact on westward expansion is popularly said to have shaped the roots of American culture, distinct from European. Society in the frontier wasn't highly stratified like in the original colonies, but it was quick to develop in something that reflected the friction with the Native Americans, the aggressive politicking that was the developing legislative landscape, and the shift from financial modesty to the dream of wealth.
Cowboys were incredibly important to frontier culture, as cattleherding [and horse... everything ( 1 2 3 4 5 ) were a core component of the frontier economy. Settlers made up another core component, and between the two of them - under Manifest Destiny's set of goals - American law and government was further developed. The building of the railroads to connect east and west coasts had major help from cowboys and their ability to wrangle horses for use in railroad construction, something that helped put the US higher on the international stage in terms of their trading power. Being able to negotiate literally new trade routes, as well as govern them, is a potent draw for any society as it enables them to have a steady source of income to develop themselves further. Since cowboys were an integral part of this, the culture surrounding them was built up accordingly.
It's important to highlight that the Old West was planned, inasmuch as territorial expansion on other people's property can be. As the population of an area grew, and went through the formal procedures of becoming towns, cities, and states (there were some hiccups, as evidenced by the Kansas-Nebraska Act), the amount of law enforcers grew accordingly. In the beginning sheriffs and others were sparse compared to their big city relatives in the more developed regions of the US, and as such they were spread thin.
What was... maybe not unique to the era and region, but perhaps distinctive, is the fine line between "law-abiding" and "not law-abiding". Since the US was galloping toward expanding its territory and defending it (pun wholly intended), picking up the slack as a representative of the US government could be financially beneficial. Bounties could be put out on criminals - whose crimes were frequently theft of cattle and horses when not cash and other goods - and deals were frequently struck with not only cowboys but whichever criminal was currently in the good graces of the local sheriff/town as a whole.
Outlaws, also known as lawmen (sometimes law-abiding!), badmen, pistoleers, pistoleros, rustlers (a particular occupation), and gunslingers (the last one a post-era name suited for Hollywood), are the byproduct of westward expansion in the US. Like cowboys and law enforcement, they had a spot in their society as, literally, a criminal occupation that varied in how far from the law they operated (entrepreneurship, if technically of a different tone than homesteaders and other settlers). Because of the contemporary in situ development of law, criminals could be sheriffs and sheriffs could be criminals.
This lack of stratification that would typically define respectability is what made the American frontier the "Wild" West, not necessarily the lack of physical infrastructure. The US is big, and matching the technology of the East Coast and Europe took a lot of resources, both physical and financial, and many routes were taken to achieve the singular goal of fulfilling the US' vision of becoming a power player in the world stage.
Such an apparent lawlessness was dealt with by using a form of equality, something best said by the adage "if catapults are outlawed, then only outlaws shall have catapults". The multiple layers of politics - from Native Americans to war with other nations and neighbors to quite simply the wildlife - meant that firearms were a staple of settlers, ranchers, Pony Express riders, and stagecoach travelers that had to deal with "the wild" (something that notably wasn't allowed within town limits as a demarcation of civilization). If you want to talk about raiding, the Bleeding Kansas crisis is your best bet to see how the Old West handled such things.
Combining those two above aspects should give you greater perspective on social dynamics of law vs lawless, as well as how the social circles overlapped. The closest I could find to the modern gang war analogue would be range wars, with notable examples including the Johnson County War, Stuart's Stranglers, and Sheep Wars that fit the parameters of cowboys in territorial disputes during the Old West era and region.
I think you might be particularly interested in the Cochise County Cowboys, as a very early form of American crime syndicate during the time when "cowboy" and "rustler" were mostly interchangeable. They're a part of the family feuds in the United States, many of which occur during the time period and in the region of the Old West.
Below (Mod Miri Note: at the end of the post) is a list gives details of the minutiae I haven't covered, which round out the setting of the Old West, up to the completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad which effectively ended the era - but not quite to the American Civil War.
Feral: Everything Tex said. Also...
Something else to consider about the real Old West and the sociopolitical dynamics that came with it is that the Old West was happening during a time of class warfare. And I do mean warfare. An incredible amount of the land was not owned by the people living there. It was owned by the railroad companies, banks, and absentee speculators. Most farmers in the 19th century were tenant farmers, who could be evicted for crop failure - evictions to be carried by the local sheriff. Over a thousand people died constructing the transcontinental railroads, and running the railroads was also a very dangerous occupation. Strikes were happening a lot and the Pinkertons were known to actually battle striking workers. The point of this is to say that the common people might not have had as much of an issue with bandits who targeted banks or trains or fought with sheriffs and security agents. Jesse James was a folk hero who is given attributes of a Robin Hood figure, even though there's no evidence he gave away any of his loot - he did, however, steal from the rich and that might have been good enough for some.
Now you ask how the bandits (or cowboys - is that meant as a reference to the Gunfight at OK Corral? if so, it's a proper noun - Cowboys was the name of the specific gang) would interact with the townspeople. I see 2 general models of this.
Model 1: the towns are part of the territories which are "protected" by the gangs that control the territories. So, gangs wouldn't be attacking their own towns; they'd be attacking each others. And likely trading with their own.
Model 2: the towns are no-man's land on the border of territories and trade equally with the bandits (this model would probably require a very strong law enforcement presence). And trade is a really important thing to consider - you can't eat money. Whatever the bandits steal from banks, train cars, etc, they need to get food with it. And given the very real poverty in the Old West, stealing food outright off farms was a very good way to get a huge posse out for your blood.
If you're not already familiar with Westerns, try some out. Tombstone is a favorite of mine (though it is absolutely completely historically inaccurate). Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is a classic. For a more "modern" option, Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy is a must-read. Even when they're inaccurate, they capture the feeling that draws people to the mythology of the Old West, even when reimagined as post-apocalyptic.
And speaking of the post-apocalyptic West, you're probably very familiar with the Joss Whedon show Firefly and Stephen King's Gunslinger, but if you haven't taken the time, really study them. Because the world building, especially in terms of the balance of chaos and order, are wonderful, and again, they capture that feeling of Westerns that keep people coming back. "Train Job," "Bushwacked," and "Heart of Gold" may be particularly helpful episodes for you.

I loved "Damerey 35+41". Broke my heart. PLEASE, tell me that you'll write a sequence where those two make up (after Rey punches him)!.
Ahhhhh here we go! @raissapl

Part One (Where Poe Messes Up Big Time)
Word Count: 3783 words
In the following weeks, which bled into months, Finn didn’t speak to Poe. He understood, rationally, why his friend refused to make eye contact with him, why he got up from the table when Poe sat down - it just didn’t make it hurt any less. Poe was already lying awake at night in his bunk, clutching his mother’s necklace, unable to breathe from grief, begging the Force to bring Rey back, to let him find her - Finn’s patented “Pretend Poe Dameron Doesn’t Exist” campaign wasn’t helping matters.
Rose, at least, had more sympathy. “You’re a kriffing idiot,” she’d told him ferociously the day after Rey left.
“I know,” Poe said miserably, clanging his head against the side of the X-Wing they were both stationed at. He’d almost skipped his duties today, but Beebee had adamantly zapped him until he got out of bed. He didn’t pick his head up from the durasteel hull, and a warm hand wrapped around his arm. He looked over to see Rose smiling up at him, her eyes still angry, but the anger was combined with kindness.
“Now, how are we going to bring her back?” Rose asked. Poe smiled back at her weakly, his first smile since Rey had told him she was pregnant, and let his small friend lead him over to a holo-screen where she’d already begun calculations.
Ten weeks later, and no sign of Rey - no stations they’d checked with had taken in a new member recently (”But wouldn’t they lie and tell us she wasn’t there, anyway?” Poe had pointed out. Rose had calmly answered, “If she hears you’re looking for her, she’ll contact us. Dummy.” Poe didn’t want to question the confidence in Rose’s response - half out of fear of Rose Tico, and half out of hope that it was true), no whispers of Jedi activity, and absolutely no budging by Leia Organa, the only person who did know where Rey had gone.
She found him one day, curled up in the little utility closet Rey had converted into a scavenging station, ten miserable weeks after the Jedi had left. He was trying to catch even the slightest hint of Rey - the smell of her hair, an echo of her laugh - and he was crying well before the general walked in. He wiped his face hastily and stood at attention, well aware tears were still leaking out of his eyes.
Leia sat down on a crate near the door, and rested her cane in front of her. She regarded him heavily, but Poe waited for her to speak, his eyes boring a hole into the wall in front of him. “At ease, Commander,” she sighed, and Poe relaxed slightly. She patted the crate next to her, and he tripped over himself on his way to sit. Poe wiped his face one more time, and Leia’s wrinkled hand gripped his shoulder. It was like she’d cut something loose inside him, and he sobbed, a harsh, angry sound. The older woman rested her hand in his hair and gently guided his head down to her shoulder, where he cried, brokenly, for minutes.
When his breathing had quieted down, he could feel her expectantly waiting for him to say something. Poe wiped his nose hastily and sat up. Leia raised her eyebrows at him, and he fidgeted with his hands, unsure of where to start.
“You have one question,” she said calmly. “And I’ll give you one answer, but only if it doesn’t betray her trust.”
Poe reeled for a second - the obvious question was where is she? but that wouldn’t meet the terms Leia had just given him. “Is-” he croaked, and cleared his throat quickly. “Is she okay? Is she healthy?” Is she happy went unsaid.
Leia gave him an appraising look but then nodded curtly, tapping her cane on the floor. “I talked to her two days ago. She’s healthy. They both are.” Poe wept again, his face buried in his hands. Rey was okay - their baby was okay. She hated him, but she was alive, and their her baby was okay. He could - he could live with that. He’d have to live with that.
She’d said one question, but he pushed his luck because that’s what he did. As Leia was moving to stand, he gripped her sleeve the way a child would; when she looked down, her expression wasn’t unkind. “How far along is she?” He asked breathlessly. Leia’s eyes softened, and she reached out to cup his cheek.
“Twenty-four weeks,” she answered, her hand soft and warm on his face. “And that’s enough questions, Commander.” Leia left him then in the closet that had belonged to Rey, to think about the woman he loved and his child, out in the galaxy somewhere far, far away from him.
Twenty-four weeks. The number slammed into Poe over and over again while he walked to his station later that day. He counted meticulously backward in his head - he and Rey had only made love seven times - more if you counted stolen, quiet, happy moments in his bunk that ended with her sighing his name, her nails digging into his wrist or scalp - no, don’t think about that, not if you want to be useful at all today - he counted over and over again even though he knew the second Leia had given him the number, he knew when it had been. The second to last time they’d managed to fall together completely was -
Fourteen weeks - two, short months - before Rey had left. It was right before she’d taken off on an mission, and he had caught her by the hand after dinner, whispered in her ear, led her to his bunk, and pressed her into the mattress, trying to demonstrate with his body all of the things his voice couldn’t quite say, yet, the things he was too afraid to say in the grip of a war that threatened constantly to take both of their lives, to steal the future he so desperately wanted for them.
He didn’t have to wrack his brain to know what was different about twenty four weeks ago - something almost … mystical had happened, when they both cried out at the same time. Objects in the room had levitated, a golden, soft glow emanated from both of them, and a sense of intense purpose had washed over him as he gazed down at the woman he loved. “Is that you?” he had breathed, as the galaxy slid into place, locked, around them.
“It’s us,” Rey had answered, laughing lightly and leaning up to kiss over his heart, and then along his throat. Poe had surrendered with a groan, kissing her passionately, their breath intermingling, his body refusing to leave hers, even though it’d done its job admirably already.
Twenty-four weeks ago, they’d made a child - and fourteen weeks after that, he’d ruined their chance at making a family.
He’d never forgive himself.
A week after his conversation with Leia, Poe was standing in Central Command. He’d managed to shave this morning, after Rose steadfastly refused to call him anything but “Chewbacca,” for the last two days, and even bathed - with water, not sonic. Finn had actually looked at him during breakfast, and hadn’t gotten up from the table when he sat down, which made Rose beam and kiss her boyfriend on the cheek. Hopefully one day, Finn wouldn’t have to be coerced by the love of his life into being in Poe’s vicinity, but it was a step in the right direction.
He was chatting idly with Snap about mods to the new set of X-Wings they’d managed to get from a sympathetic Core World supplier when the transmission came in.
“Distress signal,” Connix announced, her fingers already flying over her holo-pad. “Projecting now. It’s from Designation Bravo - Papa - Romeo.”
Leia paled and raised her hand to silence a gaggle of junior officers in the corner who hadn’t heard Connix. Poe straightened up and listened to the transmission, the grainy quality interspersed with the distant sound of explosions.
“This is –tenant Rels– of the Resistance. Our base is — attack. First Order —gies spotted thr—ntes ago. Attack commenced imm–tely. This is not a mil—-ase. We informe—em that we are refugees, mostly women and childr— but they proceed–to–tack. Requesting immediate back—–ay the Force be with —-” A longer, horrible sound of static filled the transmission.
Leia turned from the screen, and Poe saw she was fidgeting with the golden dice she kept in her pocket. “Gold, Black, and Red Squadrons, you will assist immediately. Your astromechs will receive the coordinates to prepare you for the jump.” Connnix moved to alert the droids, and Snap and Poe nodded; they turned to leave. “Commander Dameron, report to me first.”
Poe walked over to Leia, his heart already hammering with typical pre-battle adrenaline. He itched to get in his bird, to do some kirffing good for once, to help-
Leia was terrified, and his world narrowed down to that fact. “What is it, General?” Poe asked, his legs screaming at him to run to the hangar, now. His squadron was waiting for him.
“Base Designation Bravo - Papa - Romeo,” Leia tensed her mouth for less than a millisecond before shattering what was left of Poe Dameron’s carefully constructed control. “It’s the base Rey went to, Poe. Kylo must know where she is.” Poe staggered, and Leia grabbed his elbow. “You needed to know. When you get there and if it’s clear enough - extract her. If it’s not too-” She stopped herself, but Poe knew what she meant. If it’s not too late.
He refused to accept that it could be too late. Poe nodded before sprinting for the door, ignoring the twinge in his back that he accrued the last time he’d sprinted like this for his X-Wing, the time a plume of fire had snatched away the lives of dozens of his friends, had destroyed the Resistance’s fleet - no. Today wasn’t going to go that way.
He made it to the hangar the same time Snap did, despite his near-minute head start. “Power up those engines, Beebee,” he called to his droid. It chirped in affirmation, and he felt Black One hum to life. “Alright, Black Squadron, we gotta clear the air, and then I need to retrieve something on the ground. Cover me as much as you can when I’m down there, but what I’m getting is more important than me.” Poe flipped the sequence of switches to engage his primary ion thrusters, and his squadron called back to confirm they were ready to fly. None of them asked what he had meant - they’d followed stranger commands from him.
They shot off from the hangar, and the second they broke atmo, Poe ordered, “Punch it, Beebee!” The streak of blue in Hyperspace wrapped around them, and Poe breathed in through his nose, out through his mouth, willing himself to calm down, refusing to conceive an image in his mind of Rey, pregnant and trapped below a First Order assault - “How much longer, BB-8?” Poe called back, and his droid squawked in indignation. Soon enough, apparently.
With a lurching kick, they dropped out of Hyperspace, and his squadron appeared behind him. “Going down. Keep tight to the surface, Black Two and Three, and clear any activity near the base. Black Four and Five, keep high, knock out any on our tail.”
“Wilco, Black One,” Jess shouted. “We’ve got your back.”
Poe gripped his controls and dived down into atmo, praying to the Force to give him luck just one more time, to get him through this at least until he knew Rey was safe, to -
They reached the coordinates of the base, and all around were the scattered remains of TIE-fighters.
“Did Gold Squadron beat us here?” Kare called out uncertainly. Poe shook his head, forgetting oddly that she couldn’t see him.
“Incoming!” Snap shouted. Two TIEs screamed towards them - but they weren’t heading for them, they were heading for -
A T-65, which performed a perfect barrel roll, and shot back towards them with frightening speed, not changing course.
“They’re going to run right into them!” Snap shouted. Poe engaged his cannon and pointed it at the TIEs, but the T-65 banked a hard left and blew them out of the sky before they could do anything. The ancient X-Wing did a lap, and he could see the helmeted figure looking around, searching for any more enemies.
Seeing none, the X-Wing headed for the ground. “Does any one else feel…unnecessary?” Jess asked. Poe snorted and guided his X-Wing to follow the T-65. As he got closer, his landing gear extended, he spotted an R2 unit in the back.
That was…weird. He didn’t think they made…R2s….anymore. And it looked awfully familiar -
He disengaged the lock on his canopy and climbed out of Black One. “Stay here, BB-8,” he ordered, a command his droid promptly ignored, dropping down and rolling after him. Poe rolled his eyes, checked his blaster in case any more unfriendlies showed up, and walked towards the T-65, whose canopy was currently opening. Black Squadron touched down behind him. “Stay in your ships,” Poe ordered. “We might have more company.”
“Roger that,” Snap said. Poe kept walking until he was right in front of the other X-Wing.
“Great flying,” he complimented. “We didn’t think this was a military operation.”
The pilot muttered a curse, and Poe frowned up at them. They hadn’t taken their helmet off yet, and they weren’t moving.
“Why don’t you come down,” he suggested. “Do a debrief, and then we can make sure your people are okay.” The pilot grumbled something else before shrugging. They smacked the release on their belt and rose fluidly. The jumpsuit they wore was loose in the shoulders, obviously borrowed, but it hugged their curves. A woman, then, and she raised her hands to her helmet and lifted it, shaking her hair out.
Poe stared in shock.
“Rey?” He said, tripping forward. “Rey, what are you –”
“Oh shit,” Jess whispered into the comms. “Oh shit.”
“This is awkward,” Snap muttered.
Poe ignored them and raised his hand up to help Rey down. She swatted it away and climbed the ladder on her own, standing before him with her arms crossed in front of her chest.
“I had everything under control,” she said coldly. “No need for you all to waste your time.”
“We didn’t-” Poe couldn’t stop staring. “You-” A thousand emotions rippled through him, and he didn’t know which one to focus on.
Rey rolled her eyes and unzipped her flight suit, stepping out of it. She was wearing a soft tunic and leggings, the fabric around her abdomen revealing an undeniable bump.
“You’re so big,” Poe breathed, his hands lifting unconsciously.
“I beg your pardon?” Rey snapped.
Black Squadron groaned in unison over the comms.
“I thought the commander was supposed to be a player?” Kare snorted. “Legendary silvertongue, they said.”
“Beautiful-” Poe corrected himself hastily. “You’re so beautiful.” Rey shook her head and stormed away, and Poe stumbled after her. “Rey, wait -”
“I need to make sure everyone in the base is fine,” Rey snapped, waving her hand at him like he was a pesky insect. “Go away, Dameron, I’ll send my debrief to the general later.”
“No, Rey, please, talk to me,” Poe begged. The surface of the planet was muddy, and he lost his footing, tripped, landing on his knees. The sound got Rey to turn around, and well, he was in the best position to do this already. “Please, sweetheart, please talk to me. I made the biggest fucking mistake of my life, letting you go, please, you gotta-”
“Gotta what?” Rey snapped. “I don’t need to do anything, Dameron. You made your sentiments very clear. You want nothing to do with me, and I don’t need you to apologize about it now.” Poe gaped at her, and to his horror he saw tears in her eyes. “Just go back to central, and leave me alone.” She turned again, and he scrambled to his feet, now covered in mud.
“Baby, please,” Poe slid forward another few feet, and Rey froze, not looking at him. “I missed you, every fucking second of every kriffing day you were gone. You left before I could get to you, I - I misunderstood, sweetheart. I thought - I thought-”
“You thought I’d cheated on you with the Supreme Leader, and that he’d knocked me up?” Rey pivoted while she said this, her voice pitching upwards into a scream by the end.
“Ohhhhhh shit,” Jess muttered. “Oh fuck, Commander, what did you do?”
“That’s enough,” Poe barked. Rey stiffened in anger, and he held his hands out. “No, no, no, not you, sweetheart, please -” Rey made to turn around again, and Poe lurched forward, hands raised in supplication. He fell to his knees again - what the fuck is wrong with this planet? why doesn’t anyone else seem to be tripping? - and clasped his hands together beggingly. “I - I don’t think that anymore - “
“Oh, how generous of you,” Rey sneered, her hand covering her stomach protectively. Poe swallowed, tried not to stare at it, at the life she was growing inside of her. “How absolutely forgiving of you.”
“I fucked up,” Poe said, dragging muddy hands through his hair, tearing at his roots. “Please, Rey - I - I shouldn’t have let you go, but I thought it’s what you wanted, thought you didn’t want me around, especially not if you were-”
“Pregnant with a Sith Lord’s Force-Baby?” Rey scoffed.
“I didn’t care about that,” Poe said, his breath catching. Rey stared down at him, her hazel eyes angry and hurt, and he dropped his head, unable to look at her anymore, his shoulders sagging. “I didn’t - I wouldn’t care if it were true, Rey, and I wouldn’t care if you had slept with him. I was always so shocked that you’d settled for me at all, that you’d given any time at all to me. It was your body, and your life, and I had no right to dictate any of it, and I just wanted to support you.”
“You pushed me away,” Rey said, her voice breaking. Poe looked up, and saw that she was crying to match his own tears. “You - you made me think you didn’t trust me, that you didn’t care about me.”
“That’s just not true,” Poe insisted. “Kriff, Rey, I care about you more than anything else in the galaxy. You and - and our little - your -” He sagged again. “I love you both so much, Rey, and I need you to know that, I can’t have you living your life thinking that I didn’t- that I wouldn’t - I love you, and I loved you before we made that baby, and I loved you for all the days in between, and I loved you when I thought it wasn’t my baby - I love you, and…and I’m sorry that I fucked this all up, and I…” he trailed off, his throat closing from the knowledge that this was probably the last time he’d ever see her again.
“Does anyone have bang-corn?” Snap whispered. Four voices hissed at him to shut the kriff up.
“Stand up,” Rey said. Poe nodded miserably and complied, his feet slipping a little more. He had no idea what he looked like - probably frightful, mud-splattered from head to toe, wild eyed, panting - and Rey stared at him with an unfathomable expression in her eyes.
“I’ll go now,” he said softly, tears burning at the back of his throat. “I’ll go, and I’ll leave you alone. Just - I’m sorry, and I love you, and could you please tell him or her that I love them too?”
Poe began to turn, but Rey grabbed his arm. “If you walk away from me right now, every horrible thing I’ve thought about you for the last fifty-seven days, twelve hours, and six minutes will have been true.”
Poe faced her, disbelief blooming in his stomach. Rey lifted her eyebrows at him, her hand on her hip. “Well?” She demanded. “Were they true? Or are you the man I thought you were before you let me go? Because you’re going to have to stick around and convince me of that, now. If you’re up for it.” Her eyes flashed in defiance, but also in hurt and insecurity and fear, and all the awful things that were his fault.
“Wild rancors couldn’t drag me away,” Poe said, eyes wide as he took her in, this perfect, beautiful woman who was offering him - maybe not a second chance, but a way to earn a second chance. “Maker, Rey -”
“C’mere, flyboy.” Rey held her arms out, and Poe staggered forward into them, holding her tightly, marveling at the way her stomach pressed against his, the evidence of how much he loved her -
Black Squadron cheered loudly into the comms, wolf-whistling and hollering. Poe flicked them off behind his back before pulling Rey closer to him, one of his hands drifting to hover over her stomach. She nodded in consent, and Poe stroked his thumb over the side of her belly, and he laughed shakily.
“Thank you,” he murmured into her hair. He kissed the side of her head and wrapped her up even more tightly in his arms. “Thank you, Sunshine.”
“Don’t ever let me go again,” Rey threatened. “Or I will kick your ass to the Hosnian system.”
“Deal,” Poe laughed again, burying his face in her shoulder.
Suddenly, a thought dawned on him, and his spine stiffened.
“Rey,” he growled, straightening up. She quirked her brow at him. “Rey - what the fuck were you doing flying like that? You could have died!”
“Oh, that’s rich!” Rey shouted back. “You don’t get to skip out on my life for months and then swoop back in and tell me how I should be-”
They argued back and forth for another ten minutes, Black Squadron ooh-ing and aah-ing like it was a Limmie match, before they settled the fight as a draw.
(Okay. Rey won.)

evidence that feminism causes "the violent deaths of queers"?
You must have misread something in our blog. There are many different types of feminism that have been discussed over the years by people looking to advocate for women and other gender minorities. Some of these include black feminism, queer feminism, radical feminism, and liberal feminism. While critiques for virtually all manner of feminist thought exists and is worth considering, by and large feminist ideologies are beneficial to society and create positive influences for many women.
We are specifically discussing radical feminism because despite the fact that many people are familiar with the negative response it often receives, few are actually familiar with the way radical feminist ideology is communicated, what it’s core tenants are, and how easy it is to slip into harmful beliefs that it propagates when you are raised in a society that is already prejudiced against similar groups of people.
Radical feminist organizations and communities have a history of lobbying against trans rights and the rights of sex workers, have a history of making up half truths and manipulating data in order to advance their agenda, have a history of outing LGBT+ in dangerous environments for political reasons, and generally support ideologies which, despite their self identified name, are extremely regressive and which research indicates are harmful to women, lgbt+ individuals, sex workers, and poc. Additionally, they have a history of quite literally allying with fundamentalist anti-feminist groups in order to support and pass legislation which demonstrably harms these groups.

Xbox Game Pass: New Games for December 2020 Revealed
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft’s subscription service for Xbox One owners. It’s designed to be like a “Netflix for games,” where you pay a simple monthly rate and get access to loads of games for download. It’s not to be confused with the Xbox Live Gold membership, which gives users a selection of free games each month.
There was a huge surge in popularity and profile for Xbox Game Pass in 2018, mainly due to Microsoft unveiling a strategy that puts brand new games on the service. Sea of Thieves was the first example of this, followed by State of Decay 2. Crackdown 3 launched on Feb. 15. Since then, the service has seen the Day 1 launch of several Xbox exclusives, including Gears 5, The Outer Worlds, and Halo: Reach on the Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Membership to Xbox Game Pass will set you back $9.99 per month. You can now also get an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription for $1 for the first month and $14.99 a month after that. The subscription includes an Xbox Live Gold membership as well as all of the games offered on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC. Plus, with cloud support, you can play a selection of Xbox Game Pass titles on your Android phone!

Ram.bli.ngs
I JUST HAD THE BEST IDEA! THEY ARE ALL RELATED! IT GETS COMPLICATED WITH ALL THE RACES I HAVE USED, BUT IT WOULD BE SSSSOOOOO COOOL!!!!
Bryn- full elf, full son of the family
Emblem - Half elf half gnome, half daughter in the family?
Azra - Vedalken (perhaps not related... or adopted? he will live significantly past the end of that campaign, but it is the same campaign as Bryn is in.... so maybe he’s in an alternate timeline, thus no overlap, and no relation)
Grobnak - Half orc half... elf? Raised amongst orcs, but still of the same progeny? Estranged son
Tor'Am No'Kostatin (TANK)- born to elves, but a soul tied to Ao, god of gods, making him a scourge Asimar
Our Matriarch always believed strongly in "spreading her Circle"- the core tenant of her philosophy was that expanding her "Circle" was of key import; this meant expanding her influence, her family, and her power, but family always came first and foremost!
Ellian Cypress
Throughout her life- died age 812 (WICKED OLD even for an elf, thus this character is from AGES before any of my current characters)
High Elf from a hidden group of elves, whose tribal name would translate roughly to "across the sea elves"?
Mastermind Rogue (18 lvls) Wild Sorcerer (1 lvl) Life Cleric (1 lvl) did no significant adventuring
Defining features:
Matriarch of a high elf royal family; often spoken of negatively (behind her back) for having "drow-like tendencies" (there’s a bard's song about her flaying someone for accusing her of having a drow for a father - "[ode to] idiocity 'n the face o'th lady dark-skinned" by Thomas Ericson (impossible, he wasn’t alive back then.... was he?)). She had three sons early in her adulthood, which was near unheard of in their society (as having more than one or two children was strongly frowned upon, with such lifespans as theirs they feared to become too numerous) and refused to name any of them her heir; she had been open that her first daughter would be the heir before she had her first son, but quieted about that claim after the second was born (a mear ten years after the first, scandalous). When her eldest son turned 100, she declared that she would appoint him her heir due to her lack of daughter. Within a year she had the daughter she had always wanted, a fourth child, who she immediately announced to be heir to the family "Circle". This caused some strife (disinheriting her son in favor of her daughter), perhaps a war was fought over it, but it was over a thousand years ago, so memory of the time is not precisely sharp.
Her first son was Byrn (namesake of my character Bryn, whose name is a modernized version of it) who later in life became an outcast and was not heard of again (he was a battlemaster fighter), her second son was Lyre (Leer) who continued his life as a diplomat for a respectable 500 years before assassination due to a political slip up with some of the higher ups in what would eventually become the town of Waterdeep, her last son was Thannis who dedicated his life to being a cleric of the forest (who knows which specific forest god, but one of them). Her daughter, (named something with an S?) was born of the man that Ellian eventually married (her first three children were of unknown fathers).
She was sought out by a Seer when she was only 20 (barely a child by their terms) who told her that she was going to have great success in expanding her circle; this led to her leading a group of elves in rebelion against whatever hierarchy there was in her lands, and being driven across the sea. Thus her being a ruler of a small group, a splinter group.
First daughter "S" is the mother of Bryn, Tor'am, Emblem, and Grobnak. Shes not a slut, but she has 7 children total; she just likes being a family, and that is dificult to do when you live for that long. children keep growing up and leaving, so she has another. and another. and another.
Bryn Cypress
74 Years old
Elf (wood elf on paper... But I’d rather he not be the woodsy type. Maybe I can retcon that somewhat at some point)
War Cleric (eventually also a Paladin?)
Defining features:
I have spent most of my life learning to fight. I became a war-priest of the trinity of war-gods; The Triad, the trimunative, the triumphant trio, the weighted scales-
Ilmater, god of self-sacrifice, pain, battlefield suffering, and the like
Torm God of sportsmanlike conduct, duty, comradery, and the like
Tyr god of justice, fairness, strength of will, and the like
On my first outing as a priest of these gods, my entire company was wiped out by a Lich. I abhor the undead, but I feel true dread when it comes to the sight, or even though, of a lich. That is where I named my hammer though; Jaw-Breaker. turns out it is very effective on skeleton faces (I mean, not particularly more effective there than anywhere else, but still....)
Emblem Eiskiteer (eye skitter)
Birth name Ariette Worsort (War sort; family has a creed of "war sorts out the weak, foolish, and lost")
22 years old
half-gnome (half-human) (need DM permission, it is a variant human, except I’m putting a point into INT (my dump stat) to represent the gnomish heritage, and exchanging 5ft of movement for darkvision(can only move 25ft))
Rogue (thief? Swashy?) / Trickster Cleric
Defining features:
She is a 3'9" wisp of a being; weighing a measly 68Lbs.
With has no recollection of her history; wiped during the planeswalk that brought her here (although she is not necessarily a planeswalker herself; she may have just been tossed across the blind eternities, or the multiverse, by something that she cannot remember.).... wherever "here" is.
Alas but for that she has a well hidden agenda to steal all secrets she can find (and upon discovering the clerical magic of her trickster-hood, all secrets became vulnerable to her). She has the skills to back it up; being a rogue, she is capable in a wide assortment of situations, and as a trickster cleric she can capitalize on her roguish abilities by confounding her foes with some capabilities that seem almost preternatural.... because they are.
Also, her accent is not her fault; you try being raised among the rank and file of.... wait, was that the edge of a memory?
Azra Baushone
108 years old (will live to 500 natural years)
Mirrodonian Vedalken (4 arms, blue, no nose, Squidward)
Wild Sorcerer
Defining Traits:
East Indian Cultural appropriation. So he’s a bit of a dick, likes rules, as long as they can be used in his favor, and is vastly intelligent. Worked as a researcher on transdimensional energies.
His magic is not stable in this world. whatever this world is.
Grobnak
36 years old (recently aged 20 years; is now evidently 56 years old, greying hair, deep lines on his face, muscles that should be bulging sometimes cause him discomfort or grief)
Half-Orc (and very, very, orcy)
Fighter. Then Fighter Barbarian. Now ooze-boy Barbarian claw-wielding fighter.
Defining features:
Ugh. Was very inclined towards punching; hoped to become a monk of some sort (despite a distinct lack of both training and monk-like skills).
Forgets that now, as he had his mind re-written by an illithid; now he has claws, and likes to go nuts with them (entering some sort of battle fury, which he never used to do...)
And was recently attached to an ooze of some sort- it lives in his body, makes him do things he cannot control. Also gives him a bunch of fancy abilities.
Only realized he was going mad when the ooze ate the madness out of his head. The ooze liked the taste of his thoughts, because of the madness. That made him mighty uncomfortable.
Would have been identified as a large, intimidating, green beast. Liked to run in and punch things, even recklessly and at the cost of combat effectiveness (because "punching things to death is badass"). Then some illithid got ahold of his head (at the behest of a dragon he did not trust who the rest of the group seemed to like?); and at that, during a very tumultuous time in his life (he’d been passed out drunk for a month then woke up to a city under siege by the lady who brought him into the underdark who then proceeded to quickly murder all my friends). He’s had a rough time reconciling all the lost memories, half memories, and implanted memories since then. He was just getting almost used to his new arms (maybe new? he didn't recall having claws before) when this ooze got inside him, and messed with his head some more. It took his battle rage (which he was not accustomed to yet) and turned it into something... horrific? powerful, monstrous....hungry?...
He also had his brain drained during the last session; he went literally brain dead for a bit.
Maybe adventuring isn’t for him. he seems to be afraid of all the bad things lately. but this could lead to a new character trait- He just fuckin runs at things hoping they might bring his end, the end of the monster he has become.
Tor'Am No'Kostatin
150 years old (middle aged)
Scourge Asimar (born an elf, appears to be kinda half elven?)
Life Cleric (1st lvl) / Paladin (2-5 lvls)
Defining Traits:
What’s the best way to max your AC? maybe she always uses a shield, and has resplendent plate armor she is very proud of? that leaves the AC at 20. add to that the shield spell (+5 on react), and the shield of faith spell (+2 AC, concentration), meaning a base AC of 22 in combat, and if hit, can up it to 27. add to that the highest possible hit points (+5 per level, so 12 at lvl 1, 24 lvl 2, 37 lvl 3, 48 lvl 4, 63 lvl 5, add tough at lvl 5 to get +12, so 75 at lvl 5? 90 at lvl 6? 107 lvl 7, 120 lvl 8, 136 lvl 9, 150 lvl 10, 163 lvl 11, 178 lvl 12, 195 lvl 13, 209 lvl 14, 223 lvl 15, 236 lvl 16, 250 lvl 17, 261 lvl 18, 275 lvl 19, 290 cap hp with no mods after 5th lvl tough)
Knows how to lay on hands, as well as cure wounds, and has the Asimar trait for healing, Doesn’t bother smiting as she rarely hits (+1 to hit with +3 proficiency?)
Hides her Asimar nature. will only possibly reveal it at the later half of the campaign. may also be leaning towards hiding some of her other traits
