The fanmade idea that Hiccup is some kind of all benevolent and understanding dragon whisperer in the series is odd to me bc like. He's so not. He trapped the skrill in a glacier then essentially did it again years later with that deathsong (yes both ended up being freed but still), isn't able to train certain dragons (despite it very likely being possible. Smh so stubborn except for when he's a fucking quitter) and he killed the red death and fully intended to kill toothless when he initially found him. like idk its funny I think

Need I remind Ryan Condal(and the fans of this show who want her cut because she’s irrelevant) that in every piece of media on the Dance [The princess and the queen(2013), The World of Ice & Fire(2014), the Dance DVD lore(2015), Fire & Blood(2018), and The Rise of the Dragon(2022)]Nettles is always there.
Some characters that will be featured in the show like Addam of Hull(he’s not mentioned by name in the DVD lore), Alys Rivers(she’s not mentioned in the DVD lore or The World of Ice & Fire), or Gwayne Hightower(he’s not mentioned in the DVD lore or The World of Ice & Fire) are not mentioned in certain versions of the story, but Nettles is featured in every single version of the Dance.

uuhhh in other new that lmk s5 trailer dropped and people are very
mixed
for context the new season is being partly animated by wildbrain i think. flying bark is still working on the show but probably due to all the other projects they've been working on like the atla movie the animation is off.
its understandable that people are upset. lmk has some of the most consistently dynamic and lively animation ive ever seen, and going from that to ok animation kinda sucks. as a culmination of a lot of what the series has been building up to people were inevitably going to be disappointed
at the same time people shouldnt harass animators. like ever. no amount of trying to petition or anything will change the s5, people are just trying to do their job and theres no probably no major changing to the finished product by now. and theres still a lot of that lmk charm in there, and we haven't even seen the whole season yet to judge it. flying bark is still working on it, and even if the animation never reaches the peak of the old seasons it still has the same writers so at least the writing has the chance to live up old standards. idk though we'll just have to wait and see

Forgot how FUCKING ANNOYING people are in pretentious fandoms. I googled to see if there’s a censored version of House of The Dragon bc thanks to my current situation I don’t have any privacy and there are kids around but I still want to watch the show and someone was apparently looking for that on Reddit but the only replies they got were a bunch of ppl being like “oh if you can’t handle some boobs this series isn’t for you” and even someone who was like “I’m a girl too and I’m asking genuinely why does it bother you to see some nudity. It’s a natural part of the body.”
Like SHUT THE FUCK UP ALL OF YOU JUST GIVE THIS PERSON AND ME THE ANSWER WE WANT DAMNIT. Some of y’all act like the only thing to these stories is the sex and nudity and shit like I get it some of the scenes are important to the plot but not NEARLY as many of them are important as HBO puts in. I want to watch Game of Thrones and House of The Dragon because I can see even from the outside they have really interesting characters and interesting plots and cool visuals and costumes and scores that are beautiful and cool to listen to and deep world building that is so interesting and amazing actors that are so good at their jobs and sets that are so awesome and really good cgi. Why is it such a big fucking deal when someone doesn’t want to see a dick ??? Or some boobs ??? I feel like it’s more weird that everyone is so fucking chill about seeing those part of people and you SHOULD be a little uncomfortable by it. They’re called private parts for a fucking reason. Sorry my brain isn’t totally rotted and desensitized by porn that I don’t like looking at people completely butt ass naked and fucking their siblings and getting assaulted MY FUCKING BAD I GUESS.
I’m literally just here for the fucking dragons my guy I don’t want to see Deamon Targaryen’s full fucking moon.

Well, episode descriptions lead me to be believe season 2 will also be ending on a significant cliffhanger which... I really wish weren’t the case. I was hoping for some level of closure.

So I’ve been designing a taxonomic system for dragons… This is a little guide for head & face morphology for my sona’s species! She’s the one in the middle, called a Variegated Mourning Dragon (Voxingensis luctus luminosus). A subspecies of the Common Mourning Dragon, luminosus are much more flashy in colours and decoration. Mourning dragons, also called Howlers, are named as such for their calls, which sound like the wails of someone in mourning.
The four ears were from a mutation thousands of years in the past, and although it causes poor hearing (due to cramped ear canals and echo issues), it wasn’t detrimental enough to impact reproductive fitness and the ancestral species was prone enough to the mutation that it ended up becoming a permanent morphological aspect.
I’ll probably end up doing lots of full body and headshot morphology sketches like this as I’ve been listing all my dragon OCs’ taxonomy in a document. It’s so fun fr

I just finished Last Flight and I am SOBBING. Spoilers ahead for any who don’t want them (honestly not saying much you don’t already know from the start of the book though)
It really is something else reading a book where you know from the start so many of the characters have to die — you know who will be the one to kill the archdemon, you know all the griffons die out (well, almost all of them), and you know countless Wardens will die to the Fourth Blight or their Calling afterwards. There’s just so much tragedy, but at the same time you know they’ll succeed in the end, and you know there will be hope for griffons in the future. Isseya’s story is so tragic with how much she had to sacrifice (herself and the griffons), but also just how instrumental she was in defeating the blight, and how she managed to save some griffons in the end. I loved the perspective from the present day, too, and I really hope Valya, Caronel, and/or Reimas show up in Veilguard (even if it’s just a mention in the codex or something)!
Also, I’m now in total awe that our Hero of Ferelden and party were able to beat the archdemon in Denerim. So many fewer forces, no griffons, and they somehow did it in less than a year! At this rate the Sixth Blight will last a few seconds before someone swoops in (hopefully on a griffon!) and kills the archdemon…
