o7 IF I MUST

to me there's definitely something to the dynamic between a historian and someone who is an Object of History. g'raha is obsessed with the past, both real events and myths and legends, especially with figures that appear larger than life in the stories told about them.

kethry, on the other hand, is uneducated and knows neither jack nor shit about history, but feels its effects constantly. the echo gives her visions of the past that are often traumatic/violent/generally unpleasant, and literally painful. (ive always found it interesting that the echo visions seem to hurt...) she's pulled into insane quests that occur because of longstanding historical conflicts and fuckups from decades if not centuries ago. to her, the past is something that is always trying to Get You.

so plot happens and g'raha, history guy extraordinaire, gets punted into the future. in the stories that got passed down, kethry became one of those hero figures he loves, but also she was right in her misgivings and one of those longstanding wars eventually killed her.

when they meet again, what must it be like to reconcile the grand historical image and the real person he knew, once? do the legends overshadow the real memories? how does it feel to be the kind of person you know she resents, dragging her into yet another massive conflict, except it's the only way to give her and thousands more a future of their own?

given where kethry is emotionally/mentally when they meet again, there's no way she believes he's doing any of this for good reasons. ya boi is some hooded stranger and yet another lord, and it sure fucking looks like he's holding her friends hostage to get her to do what he wants. and at the end of all the fighting she does for this man, wielded as a weapon once again, when her body is tearing apart at the seams--she finds out he's the guy she almost loved from years ago who left to shut himself in yet another Ancient Problem? AAAAAAAA

You should rate all of Dante's cats >:3

on one hand it's a challenging task, on the other, i could never rate a cat lower than 10/10. that's a cat. it's cat shaped. it will be 10/10

but as a small run down:

Lord Rivera. 20/10. So shapped. Extremely wise. The smartest of the bunch and the one who knows how to take the time to think. Voiced by Keiji Fujiwara (aka Eugen's va) before he died, which means i will forever be crying about it.

Lord Mukuta. 30/10. He was one of my favorite ones when i read the Many Lives of Cats. He's definitely the coolest of them. a good head on his shoulders, wise, but not overbearing. Voiced by Reinhardtzar's VA which brings me so much joy.

Lord Vapaus. 12/10. This one mainly stood out to me for having the funniest lines in the localizations (like "rat got your tongue?" and stuff like that). Curious and Direct, but he didn't leave as much of an impact on me as the others.

Lady Aselia. 15/10. she's so sweet and kind. Very considerate and calm, even if her anger can be a sight to behold. She is so elegant too. Look at her. isn't she perfect.

Lady Afaka. 14/10. Most out of touch of the kitties. Laid back and easy going. I remember firmly that one scene in The Many Lives of Cats when all the cats are in crisis because they've been kidnapped and she is like "i've found something!" and everyone turns to her thinking she has found a way out or something, but instead she lies in a hole and purrs because that's what she found. "that's such a good hole." cut to the others cats, jaded, wondering why they even thought Lady Afaka would actually focus for two seconds. She's fantastic.

Lady Mew Mew. 10000000/10. She's the best. She's a mew mew. She means the world to me. She's so tiny. She has 0 understanding of what's going on around her. Head empty. Who needs thoughts when you can get pats. Will never forget how she got mad that others cats were clinging on Sen while trying to escape a certain water death bc "wtf are you all doing on MY Cuddle buddy èwé" like miss Mew Mew the room was easy to read but she can't fucking read. She's so baby. I adore her.

Lord Young Cat. 25/10. He's so cute and great. Feral little buddy who's learning to enjoy love and care. truly THE Meow meow, the rebel, the hero.

Freiheit. 11/10. I admit i didn't read Dante's SSR FE so i don't know him, but he's shapped, he's a battle cat, he looks fun. He seems amazing so he deserves good pats and praise.

BONUS not a Dante's Cat but one of the cats from The Many Lives of Cats that deserve mention:

Lord Torajiro. 17/10. he's a good cat. He's so so good. Like he committed atrocities, but it's because he loved his owner so much, and it makes him the ultimate Poor Pathetic Little Meow Meow. I cried so hard because of him. I hope he can enjoy the rest of his days with his owner just fine.

In regards to Technoblade's passing, I too will be taking a break from Tumblr for about a week or more.

It is heartbreaking to see someone you loved as a content creator, someone you looked up to, suddenly pass away like this.

"While heroes get remembered, legends never die." Techno was a legend, and will eternally live on in our hearts and memories as time passes along.

Not to be all emotional on main or anything like that but I just want to say that before I watched Agent Carter, I needed to pick a yearbook quote. After watching the first season which I’ve since watched two more times, I immediately decided to use Peggy’s “I know my value” quote because that quote hit me real hard (and still does) since I deeply resonate with Peggy in many ways such as working on being able to ask others for help when I need it instead of bottling up my emotions and slowly learning that I don‘t need to prove to the world how great I am because “I know my value, anyone else’s opinion doesn’t really matter“.

I really want to say that I think Peggy Carter is my favourite fictional character of all time because of how strong, resilient and witty she is whilst having flaws similar to mine. I’m currently in my final stretch of high school and studying for my final exams which determine my score that decides if I get into the university course I want to get into or not. Through these challenging and stressful times, especially in the long and painful covid lockdown where I am, there is one question that I’ve been asking my self when things get tough.

“What would Peggy Carter do?”

Call it cheesy or whatever but I’m gonna be real here, Peggy Carter really is my greatest fictional inspiration and someone I look up to.
