Alrighty gonna do this ask game for the main characters of my first book

So

Margaret:

🤥: Margaret is actually an excellent liar and will lie casually if needed. She also canonically cheats at card games.

🥞: She loves the classic crambled eggs with bacon and breakfast sausage, but she also loves bread and butter with a nice bowl of soup.

📖: She loves to read. Her favourite genre is mystery but she also loves a good fantasy adventure or contemporary romance

🍁: She loves spring. Everything is waking up and blooming, the annoying bugs aren’t out yet but the birds, bees, and ants are.

Jean:

🤥: Jean is a terrible liar. She gets very defensive or awkward when she lies. Her voice cracks, her tone gets loud, she drops things. It’s painful to watch.

🥞: Jean will eat chicken nuggets or instant noodles for all her meals if left to her own devices. Her comfort breakfast though is a McDonalds breakfast meal, with a McGrittle, two hash browns, and apple juice.

📖: Her ADHD makes it hard to read often, but she likes to read when she can. Her favourite genre is Young adult fantasy adventure. Jean is addicted to books about magic, friendship, found family, and mentally unstable teenagers like herself going on adventures to save the world.

🍁: Autumn. Jean loves the fallen leaves, laughing at early Christmas celebrations, pumpkin spice or apple cinnamon everything, she loves it. Heaven for Jean is sitting by the fire in a warm sweater and a comfy chair with an old book in her lap and a pumpkin spice coffee with whip cream and cinnamon in her hands while watching Nightmare Before Christmas. Speaking of, Halloween is her favourite holiday, from midnight on the first of September she’s celebrating spooky season.

The following are characters I have yet to tell y’all about so I’m excited!

Mortimer:

🤥: They’re an amazing liar but they don’t lie as casually as Margaret does. They’ll hold back information or lie or tell half truths if it’s for the sake of protecting the people they care about, and they can go pretty far into manipulating others if they feel they have to, but they’d never cheat at a card game.

🥞: They grew up in a world with food that’s quite different from ours, but there are similarities. They did live in Mortan (our world) for some time, so I think their favourite breakfast in Mortan was anything baked. Home made bread, buns, croissants, muffins, pastries, Etc. There’s probably an equivalent to that in Calasmic, like dipping warm home made bread into Calasmic coffee (which is thick and sweet almost like honey). But really anything Margaret cooks is beyond amazing in their eyes.

📖: They like reading, but they don’t have a lot of time to do it for pleasure. They often read for work purposes, whatever their job is at the time. When they do read for pleasure, it’s usually non fiction. They enjoy reading the newspaper and reading articles about current events, or reading essays written by activists or critics. They even enjoy reading instructions that teach various skills. Margaret used to tease them for this, to which they would always respond with something along the lines of: Well I have to study plenty if I’m to ever be as smart as you are.

🍁: Winter. They like the quiet, the excuse to stay in and do nothing. They love winter holidays, since they didn’t grow up with a religion they probably explored all the winter holidays that Mortan had to offer. Also they can wear lots of layers so before they got magic surgery in Calasmic they didn’t have to bind during winter. They just wore a lot of layers.

Clicio:

🤥: This man cannot and will not tell a lie. He’ll withhold the truth if it would cause more harm than good to tell it, but he hates lying. If he says something that’s untrue, it’s usually because he’s in denial and lying to himself -the only person he’s good at lying to is himself- or it’s because he just believes it’s true.

Edit: I wrote this but then as I was writing other things I remembered that he would lie on behalf of other people that he’s loyal to. His loyalty goes above his hatred for lying. He still hates lying though, even if he feels like it’s necessary, and will deliver a lie very half heartedly.

🥞: He likes fruit, but fruit that is sliced and doesn’t have any bruises or inconsistencies in taste. He lives in Calasmic, but if he were to eat an apple from Mortan for example he’d want all the bruised and sour parts cut off. (He’d probably give them to Aujist since Aujist isn’t a picky eater) though this isn’t exactly a comfort food, more what he usually eats. I think oatmeal would be his comfort breakfast if he grew up in Mortan.

📖: He loves reading and spends most of his alone time reading and writing. He enjoys text books about his special interest, biographies, historical stories, political stories, and mysteries.

🍁: I think Spring is his favourite aesthetically, he enjoys the aesthetic of flowers blooming and a gentle breeze and plants waking up and just a nice tranquil feeling. However, realistically spring is messy, muddy, and you have to be in alert mode because of the animals coming out of hibernation. I think he’d still like sitting in and doing spring cleaning while it’s raining outside though. He also enjoys winter. Those that know him best (his little sisters and Aujist) know that he loves playing in the snow. He also likes to wear sweaters and lay in bed with a book and some warm tea.

Aujist:

🤥: He’s a decent liar because he’s good at being casual and rarely acts seriously. He doesn’t see why lying is an issue.

🥞: He’d love pancakes if he grew up in Mortan. He’d probably love most breakfast foods though. I feel like he’d love fast food or restaurant breakfasts the most, like McDonalds or IHop or even Waffle House.

📖: He’s actually the only main character in the first book that wouldn’t be much of a reader. He likes going to libraries because they work differently in Calasmic, but for actual reading he’d probably enjoy graphic novels and comic books.

🍁: Probably autumn. He likes all the seasons equally, though Spring is probably his least favourite because of all the storms. He gets really productive in Autumn and likes to help out people that are working hard to harvest food and collect fire wood for winter. As a kid his father probably took him on camping trips during fall where they’d hunt, go fishing, learn survival skills, learn about nature, things like that.

Sophie/Xania:

Don’t want to spoil too much about her so I’ll have to be careful, but here goes:

🤥: Oh yes, a good liar indeed.

🥞: She likes breakfast wraps. Not a comfort breakfast but her comfort breakfast would be something simple like bread and butter with a cup of tea. Her usual breakfast is egg and cheese wraps/sandwiches. Or just a muffin if she’s in a rush.

📖: She is a bookworm TM. In Mortan she usually had her nose in a book, but in Calasmic… Well let’s just say she was a bit too busy to read.

🍁: I’m not sure, she has pretty negative opinions about each of the seasons and dislikes them all equally. Probably Autumn, because that’s when school starts and she’s free from her troubles at home.

I made two Murder Drones OC's. Dr. Roran Remingford and Lisa Windsphere.

Roran is a doctor who treats worker drones who have gotten hurt either from accidents or murder drone attacks. His personality is pretty much 'acts like he doesn't care’ but he actually cares a lot.

Meanwhile, Lisa is a friendly murder drone that lives by herself and Roran brings her iv bags of oil to keep her from overheating and dying. She's super friendly but does get aggressive if she's starving; she may also have some mental issues she needs to work out.

P.S. There is a reason why Lisa doesn't have a serial designation letter or an armband but I'm not gonna tell you why.

Your AU is so detailed and fascinating to follow, it's super motivating to me to work on my own canon divergence AU I've had floating around in my head. I don't know if you work that way (I know a great deal of people who don't) but do you have an own personal soundtrack for the AU, too, aside from the music the game itself provides? (Does the question even make sense? Either way, musical inspiration is always super interesting to me…)

Music plays a large part in creating inspiration for my work, so you’re not alone! Hell, the titles my AU is also a song lyric (it’s “Staying” by Koda)! Although I tend to lean more heavily on soundtracks and instrumentals, so aside from the amazing large and beautiful soundtrack that Fire Emblem Fates already has, I’m always compiling playlists and themes lists for characters and plot moments. For this story, at least, the primary soundtracks I draw from is NieR: Gestalt, Hiroyuki Sawano, Tales of Zestiria, and Code Geass.

Another fun thing I do when looking into music is to look for any hints of any Fire Emblem Fates’ theme in other pieces of music, mostly because one of my favorite things in soundtracks is when they have a cohesive series of leitmotifs running through the entire thing. So then I find tracks like that one moment in the overture theme for the Wu Kingdom in Dynasty Warriors 8 that carries a little, just a little bit of “Lost in Thoughts, All Alone”. Or how that one part of THE UNIVERS by Hiroyuki Sawano has a bit of Awakening’s leitmotif in it.

Music in turn is often a great avenue for me to seek out other sources of inspiration. To be honest, Dynasty Warriors got me to learn more about Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which was pretty helpful for building the world for both Hoshido and Nohr, even if it’s just a very small part. Sometimes I seek out music from lesser used sites and come up with pretty great finds, like Presence of Music and Windsphere (although admittedly, I only know these sites because I used to be into Hetaoni years ago).

Honestly, I could go on for days and posts about all the enormous collection of music, in fact, maybe I should just make more music posts to share and share my thoughts, if anyone wants me to (I think I already have a music tag). I say this because I think I should probably space my posts out and not flood the blog with a lot of music posts. I already make a habit of punctuating some of the scripted chapters on AO3 with links to music (with extra information in case the music link breaks), and attach music designated as character themes to any of the posted bios, usually in their titles.
