yeah, every game lately i feel like i’ll get a heart attack there,, but these are my boys!! dearest!
im just curious whats your favorite player from dynamo?
(jo, mohl bych psát česky ale…..)
I KNOW they just love keeping us on the edge (but looking back, let's be real it was kind of a smooth sailing against Litvínov when you compare it to matches of Sparta and Třinec now)
On the off chance of being too predictable Tomáš Rolinek (biggest heart out there a true sweetie to fans)

Yesterday, I went back in time to experience one of the darkest chapters of our national history, the sadistic, mafia-filled 90s by watching Miki (2024). It is one of those movies that makes you stare at the screen in disbelief long after the movie ended. You think about it as you go home from the cinema, you keep thinking about it the next day, and the day after. It opens your eyes with its brutality. It opens your eyes to the brutal legacy of our own country.
I look back at what Milan Ondrík (the actor who plays Černák) said about the movie in a recent interview: "First of all, it is not a movie about Černák, it is a movie about the dark history of our country, and we have created it so we [Slovaks] can learn from our mistakes." I have to agree. When you watch the movie (and even when you learn a little about the period), you realise that Mikuláš Černák and other Slovak mafia bosses of that period were really just figures on a large chessboard, the tip of the iceberg. They were usually guys from working-class backgrounds, the underdogs. Bus drivers, boxers, ex-cons, fruit sellers. They learnt how to adjust to the chaos of the era, saw an opportunity to make money quickly and seized it, not giving a damn about the destruction they were leaving behind.
And what they did was monstrous, but then you look at the "protectors of justice" who allowed them to carry on, the lawyers who prepared dubious contracts in their names, the judges who helped them get away with their heinous crimes, the investigators and policemen who covered up after them for a bit of money stashed in an envelope. The politicians who often used the mafia to do the dirty job for them. The mafia thrived because the environment not only allowed them to but even actively encouraged them to continue. These gansters used an opportunity that was presented to them on a silver platter.
I think the mafia never really disappeared. The "criminal forefathers" killed each other in open gun fights in front of blocks of flats, and their successors learned from their mistakes, moved to the shadows instead, and became much more sophisticated. And when you look at the recent changes in the Slovak legislation, all the reduction of penalties for criminal activity, who is to say that there won't be new Černáks, new Sýkoras, new Piťos again? New guys seeking new opportunities to seize, just because the system is once again giving them a helping hand.
So. Go. See Miki if you can (and if you have the stomach to take it, the movie is 18+ for a reason). Watch the movie they have created so we can learn from our mistakes.
---
For those of you who are not familiar with our underworld, the movie tells the story of Mikuláš Černák, one of the most notorious mafia bosses in Slovakia. Slovakia went through a turbulent and dangerous time in the 1990s which was a period marked by a sharp increase in organised crime in the midst of political and economic upheaval. The mafia had an impact on many facets of life. After Communism collapsed in 1989 and Czechoslovakia was dissolved in 1993, Slovakia quickly moved from a centrally planned to a market economy. Emerging mafia groups took advantage of the political vacuum and economic turmoil produced by this change. Because of the abrupt change in political institutions, the legal system and law enforcement were unprepared to deal with the emergence of organised crime. Mafia organisations were able to operate with impunity because of the police's underfunding, inadequate training, and massive corruption. This helped mafia spread their influence throughout a number of industries, including nightlife, politics, and the construction sector.

Extras
Backstory: Nadezhda Kovalchuk grew up longing for a life of extravagant spending. Nadezhda was her father's 'little princess', which means she was put first when it came to spending (any) extra money her (already poor) family got, Nadezhda wanted to learn ballet, she would get lessons, Nadezhda wanted to learn archery, she got lessons, and so on. Nadezhda eventually wanted to learn how to wrestle, and she didn't need to go far to find lessons, her father (Zlatan) used to fight bears when he was a teenager, for people's entertainment. Meeting both Vesta and Bonita, in the same part of the British wrestling circuit, the three became friends fast, during that time she also met Damocles. Nadezhda was often broke due to paying for lavish items, champagne, limos, designer clothing, and so on. Nadezhda was the perfect candidate for 'Greed', being so money-hungry (with good reason), but never truly knowing how to limit her spending. She has been with the 'Lucifarian Family' since the start of her career.
Trivia:
Nadezhda is cowardly in a Jimmy Hart way, she'll piss someone off, during a promo, and run away once she feels like she's in danger
Nadezhda is a showman (Show-woman?) because she's more show than work, meaning she works exceptionally quick matches
Nadezhda's role is as the heart (and wallet) of the group
Nadezhda is Charming, Cowardly, Greedy, Loyal, Self-Confident and Vain
Nadezhda knows how to keep herself out of harm's way
Nadezhda can keep a close group of friends together
Nadezhda can sort out differences between people quite easily
Nadezhda is very hard to plan simple matches for
Nadezhda is even harder to get to participate in tougher, more challenging matches
Nadezhda cares more for money than people deep down
Nadezhda likes: Money, Sunrises, Cruises, Yellow, Holubtsi (Ukrainian boiled cabbage packages), Kupala Night, New Year's Eve, Poison Dart Frogs, Limos, Sunflowers, Champagne, Dresses, Winter Coats, Poetry, Moor Frogs
Nadezhda dislikes: Government, Black Ice, Museums, Neon colours, Beer, Christmas, 4th of July, Bears, Sunsets, Orchids, Hail (Weather), Short skirts, Ripped clothing, Caves, Giant suids,
Nadezhda's named moves are jokes on the fact that she is greed, such as Gold Digger and Diamond Ring. However, Money Maker is also a joke on the fact that it's a facebuster, and usually an actor's face is called their 'money maker'
Nadezhda hates Hulk Hogan and Sgt Slaughter, because of how patriotic they are

The Bears now lead the series 2-0. Ethen Frank notched his second game-winning goal of the Atlantic Division Finals on Saturday night, putting the Bears ahead 3-0 4:25 into the third period. Frank took a pass down low from Lucas Johansen. Frank handled the pass on the forehand, went to the backhand, and beat Dylan Garand for his fifth goal of the playoffs. The goal gives Frank the game-winner in each of Hershey’s last three games. For the second time in the series, the Bears opened the scoring. Ivan Miroshnichenko collected a pass from Jimmy Huntington and snapped a shot over the right shoulder of Garand just 2:50 into the hockey game. The powerplay goal was the Bears’ third in the series and gave Miroshnichenko a three-game goal-scoring streak. The Wolf Pack battled back from there, outshooting the Bears 11-9 in the opening stanza. Hartford’s best two chances came at five-on-five, but both were shut down by Hunter Shepard. Jake Leschyshyn had two chances in front to jam a loose puck by Shepard, but could not find daylight. Moments later, Nikolas Brouillard was robbed by the glove of Shepard on a golden opportunity from the left-wing circle. Miroshnichenko extended the lead to 2-0 13:32 into the second period, potting his team-leading fifth goal of the playoffs. The rookie forward danced around a defenseman, got Garand down, waited out the goaltender, and snapped a shot over his left pad to send the Giant Center crowd into a frenzy. Frank scored his second goal of the series 4:25 into the final frame, ballooning the lead to 3-0. Hendrix Lapierre then potted his first goal of the series at 8:30, tipping in a point shot from Jake Massie that made it 4-0 for the Bears. Despite trailing 4-0 late in the game, the Wolf Pack battled to the end and cut the deficit in half. Leschyshyn got the Wolf Pack on the board at 17:02, tipping in a shot from Victor Mancini. The goal was Leschyshyn’s team-leading fifth of the postseason. Anton Blidh then notched his second goal of the playoffs at 19:11, deflecting a shot from Brouillard from the left-wing circle. It would not be enough, however, as the Bears held on to take a stranglehold in the series. Game 3 of the 2024 Atlantic Division Finals will occur at the XL Center in Hartford on Wednesday, May 22nd. The puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. Single-game tickets for Game 3 and Game 4 of the Atlantic Division Finals are on sale now! For playoff information, please visit www.hartfordwolfpack.com/tickets/playoff-information. _________________________ WOLF PACK DROP GAME 1 TO BEARS 6-1 HERSHEY, PA – The Hershey Bears struck first in the 2024 Atlantic Division Finals, knocking off the Hartford Wolf Pack 6-1 at the Giant Center. The Bears now lead the best-of-five series 1-0. Ethen Frank buried his second game-winning goal against the Wolf Pack this season, blasting home a powerplay goal 3:58 into the second period. Frank was set up in the left-wing circle, where he blasted home his team-leading fourth goal of the Calder Cup Playoffs to make it 2-0 at the time. The Bears opened the scoring 7:40 into the hockey game, as Chase Priskie buried the first goal of his Calder Cup Playoff career to give the club a lead they never lost. Priskie took a feed from Henrik Rybinski, worked into a high-danger area in the slot, and rifled a shot by the glove of Olof Lindbom. Bogdan Trineyev provided a screen on the goal, which was assisted by Rybinski and Matt Strome. Frank’s powerplay goal came after the Bears were able to kill off two consecutive Wolf Pack powerplay opportunities to start the middle frame. The goal was Frank’s second game-winning goal in as many games for the Bears. He had the game-winner in Game 4 against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms last Saturday night. Jake Leschyshyn got the Wolf Pack on the board at 5:42, scoring his fourth goal of the Calder Cup Playoffs. Leschyshyn used a burst of speed to get by Joe Snively and enter the offensive zone on a partial breakaway. Leschyshyn snapped a shot by the blocker of Hunter Shepard to make it a 2-1 game. The Bears struck twice late in the second period, ballooning the lead to 4-1. First, Alex Limoges buried a rebound on the powerplay at 13:28 for his second goal of the Calder Cup Playoffs. Garrett Roe then notched his first career Calder Cup Playoff goal at 14:35, deflecting a shot from Lucas Johansen from the left-wing wall. The goals, which made it a 4-1 game, came just 1:07 apart. Ivan Miroshnichenko stole a puck at his own blue line and burst away through the neutral zone, setting up a breakaway opportunity. The rookie forward went to the backhand and beat Lindbom for his third goal of the postseason at 11:01 to make it a 5-1 score. On the play, Lindbom was injured and forced to leave the hockey game. Talyn Boyko entered, making his AHL debut in relief. Trineyev was whistled for boarding at 11:46, but it was the Bears who struck on the Wolf Pack powerplay. Jimmy Huntington waltzed into the offensive zone, glided by two defenders, and snapped a shot by the blocker of Boyko for his first goal of the postseason. The goal was the second shorthanded marker allowed by the Wolf Pack during the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs. Game 2 between the Wolf Pack and Bears goes on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at the Giant Center.
