I'm so glad you can enjoy all of those facets of my writing! I am a sucker for symbolism. It will have to be pried out of my hands before I ever stop putting lots of symbolism in my writing hehe. >:D and relatable readers!!! :o thank you for saying so! I always hope the reader's personality can be enjoyed in my fics. Their interactions with certain characters are so different depending on the type of reader, and I try to write a different sort of reader for each fic just to add more flavor to the plot. Like a reader who greatly dislikes the yandere (in the context of DRU or Love me Not) or a reader who is head over heels for the yandere (like in Azul thought 4). It's also just really fun to write a variety of varying personalities for each reader and to see which would clash/connect with the character's personality!

Hehehe I fear no one will be ready for the monster that is TMDG. ^^;;;; like Azul thought 4, it's a concept that plagued my brain so much that it compelled me to create a playlist for it and it has me looking up all manner of moray eel courtship to slyly add into the scenes. I'm very excited to share it with everyone! ^0^ it's quite a lengthy read, but I hope such a thing can be acceptable. orz

And my Azul thoughts omg!!! Thank you for liking them! Azul is my beloved muse. He's just so fun to write for. I put him in so many concepts and he never fails to entertain! AAAAAAA thank you for liking the way I write Jade!!!!! He is very devious and conniving; that is a good way to describe him! I love him a lot because he's an eerie menace and a danger to all, but beyond that he can be so incredibly soft at certain moments. Just like the mushrooms he loves so much as you wrote!!! Maybe it's an act, or maybe it's the truth. It's so hard to tell with him, but when he's being so soft and sweet how can you not feel so fluffy? Not to share yet another excerpt from TMDG, but he's so soft!!!!!!! This is an eel who is so unabashedly in love with you and he's just barely treading the line between friend and lover. I love writing him in this way. In my mind, you hold the leash and he is happily, pleasantly collared (for now hehehe).

sooo to answer the first question of what inspired me hehe it was definitely a mix of a few things!! biggest inspiration was me reading mists of celeste and being like "what the fuck. can i do that?" bc ... im sure you've all read it and yk what i mean LMAO its just so good and i wanted to know if i could write something as impactful hehe i had already been a writer but i had never shared my writing or tried to write a longfic so it was a big challenge to start and im so happy i did!!

and soooo after i decided i wanted to write my own fic i figured some things out like i definitely wanted to do an au and i pretty quickly decided that i wanted hongjoong to be an antagonist so i started pondering what situations make Bad People into People Of Power and ... the cult idea plopped nicely into my brain and then everything started falling into place after that hehehe

and YES there are specific cults ALKJFKDJFDK the way im majorly freaking out getting to talk about this thank you again for asking omg anyways. scientologists (so sorry if any of you are scientologists but fr...) heaven's gate. branch davidians (mullet hj is canon in the answer for 1 reason and 1 reason only. david koresh’s mullet.) and like ofc the manson family and the people’s temple (though more so just jim jones himself idk that whole 900 people thing… not intimate enough for the vibe i was going for) and honestly the characterization of hongjoong is derivative of a few irl people too LKFJSDFKLJSD like im not gonna name names bc then yall would be like “oh god …” and judge yourselves so ill save you the torment lol but you could Probably Guess

The act of spilling a milkshake is such an innocent mistake that immediately takes on a sinister undertone when described in such an unnerving way. You wouldn’t normally picture milkshake splatter in a brightly colored, upbeat diner as blood spatter at a crime scene. I like mixing innocent things like that with eerie comparisons; the contrast is so fun! I hope it can make for an unsettling feeling when read!

I loved writing that line (and plenty of others) for the story, so I’m glad you enjoyed it and caught the juxtaposition! I can promise the plot will only get scarier going forward hehehe!!

This is my first time posting a read along like this. Just something I thought might be fun to do as I read!

Description: Middle-schooler Mayuki wants to enter Ohtomo high school to join her beloved senpai Akira. Problem is: her grades are so terrible there's no way she can make it into such a high level school. Thus her mother hires a high school girl named Rin as a private teacher to help her daughter. Seeing how the girl looks so much more mature than her, Mayuki ends up asking Rin to teach her more than just school subjects…

So Mayuki wants to get into the same high school as Akira, who is seemingly a year a head of her. The problem with that is Ohtomo High is a pretty selective school, and...

She deadass gets the worst score in her whole class. Yet to be sure if she’s just Not an Academic or a Certified Dumbass (I say this with affection). Either way I have no choice but to stan.

Mayuki is also a basketball player, which is cute. Sporty gf!

They’re going to Ohtomo’s open house, so Mayuki can see her crush Akira!

Except she somehow gets lost trying to find the big shiny high school campus. That’s one point in the Certified Dumbass column.

So apparently there is a certain “rumored tree” around here somewhere? Well, it’s not this tree. But pretty crying blonde girl seems to like it anyway.

OMG OMG OMG they’re holding hands already???? (so lewd so fast)

Also are we not going to address what just happened? Ma’am? You were just slapped?

Mayuki is baby and deserves to be protected

*takes one look at Akira and her outfit* Bi.

So Akira’s classmates seem to think Akira has a lot of “fans” in Mayuki’s class (Akira is a b-ball player too).

Totally normal heterosexual praise from Mayuki to Akira. Akira’s like “this is normal for Mayuki,” like wow. Akira is clueless and Mayuki is hopeless.

ASHAKLFDG DASHING?! This poor girl is in it deep. That’s some adorable word choice, tho. Dashing? That’s so gay I love it.

She’s not treating you like a kid, you’re just short.

So this “rumored tree” apparently has a little folk tale tied to it, that if you confess your love to someone while standing beneath it, you’ll always be happy. Definitely no reason to mention that, nope no reason at all.

Her name is Rin, btw. Also there’s probably no reason for all the love sparkles in the background every time Mayuki looks at her, none at all.

(Don’t wanna flood this post with screencaps so) Rin asks if Mayuki wants to ask about that kiss and that slap, but Mayuki respectfully declines and insists on getting started with the tutoring. She’s still curious, of course.

Rin assigns her a practice test. You can guess how that went.

Rin is understandably curious: “So, uhhh, why exactly are you trying to get into Ohtomo when you so obviously aren’t the bestest testest taker?”

Flashback time!

Love the confirmation that Mayuki’s always been short. Further confirms my “she’s not treating you like a kid, you’re just tiny” observation from earlier.

Mayuki’s like “I need to get into Ohtomo because Akira helped me become better, so please Rin help me become better! Totally won’t form a similar bond with you, btw.”

SKADJFKBLSHS Rin goes “I’ll help you, like a big sister!” and Mayuki is like *nervous chuckle* “Riiiiight.”

Rin: “What are your weakest subjects?”

Mayuki: “All of them” MA’AM I LOVE YOU

XD Mayuki’s losing hope after 30 minutes of studying

XD XD XD Rin, very gay: “I might start admiring you”

Mayuki: “Wuzzat mean?”

Rin talks about what happened on that day, and I’m soft. She’s so unabashedly polyam and it’s both wonderful and sad because she can’t commit to someone if they’re the only one. Her heart is too big for just one person AAAAAAAA

AND OH MY FUUUUUUU Mayuki imagines Rin and Akira would be a good fit for each other! I know she’s jealous now, but POTENTIAL FOR COMPERSION LATER!

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

Mayuki you’re overthinking this. Maturity isn’t about whether you’ve kissed someone or not, it’s...oh fuck it, you go girl.

You shut your mouth you adorable person, you deserve the world and your Akira-senpai. And a kiss.

I wonder what’s going through Rin’s head. Probably something like “oh yeah, it’s all coming together.”

They smooch and then they just...end the study session?! Like RIN WHAT?

XD Two very different reactions. Mayuki: *gay bliss* Rin: *GAY PANIC*

WAIT THAT WAS ACTUALLY RIN’S FIRST KISS, SHE DIDN’T KISS THAT GIRL UNDER THE TREE AAAAAAA

WHHHAAAAAAAAAA?!

Does theys knows each other??? What does it mean??? (I mean they’re classmates but how well do they know each other???)

Aaaaaand that’s chapter 1, and hhhhh I love this story. It’s just so soft and fluffy!

That ending tho...did Akira know Rin was tutoring Mayuki? Is that why she wanted to be informed? We haven’t really gotten any insight into Akira’s feelings about Mayuki, but perhaps this is a sign that she obviously, certainly does view her as more than just a kid. I want to know mooooore.
