Various Artists - Ju-Jikan: Ten Hours of Sound From Japan (2002, 23five)

Well, it’s at least 2 hours and 19 minutes of sound from Japan. If you wanted the full ten, you had to be at SFMOMA in September of 2001, when the exhibition was presented to which this is the accompanying CD. I was eight years old, and not in San Francisco.

Both the exhibit (which featured a somewhat wider range of works) and the CD were jointly curated by Atau Taneka, Ryoji Ikeda, and Shunichiro Okada. The tracklist features Tanaka and Ikeda, along with Merzbow, Hanatarash, and many others who may be known to you but not me.

If you are interested in this you may be interested in 23five, who are still active. Their website hosts some reviews of Ju-Jikan, and you can also purchase Variable Resistance and 33 RPM, similar CDs derived from exhibitions of Australian and French music, respectively.

Kamakhya 12 feet x 9 feet (370 x 270 cm). Made in two pieces.

Part of 3 huge paintings (12x9, 9x6 and 7x7 feet) for a hotel.

The 2 paintings are screwed together to keep the two together.

This particular painting is #abstructure by #abhishekdeheriya where the structure and form are merged with abstract backgrounds and abstract forms. The subject in itself is made using thick paint in overlapping layers of translucent opaque and at times thin layer of fluid paint.

I must say that photos are just not correct way, this art must be seen and felt with naked eyes.

Repost @nbucklesphoto ・・・ The Quadracci Pavilion of Milwaukee Art Museum was designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. It is located by the shoreline of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee Wisconsin. It has the Burke Brise Soleli, a 217-foot wingspan that unfolds and folds twice daily during a nice weather.
