#Repost @the.radical.project ・・・ Brutalist Duplex Apartment in de Riverside Tower | Antwerp, Belgium | 2021 . [Studio Okami Architects / @studiookami] . The Riverside Tower is a high-rise development from the early 70s designed by Leon Stynen & Paul De Meyer, beautifully situated in the bend of the river Scheldt, a stone’s throw from the city center of Antwerp. It’s here, on the 13th floor, that founding partner Bram Van Cauter of Studio Okami Architects renovated a duplex to match the brutalist tower which he calls his home. . The rough concrete is balanced out with a peach-colored liquid floor trough-out. The new staircase was moved to the far corner of the room allowing for a better flow and reconnection with the views from the top windows when ascending to the upper floor. Día 2562 - Siete años y dos días en tierras extranjeras. Yo soy el extranjero, no ellos. Otro horario, otro clima, otras formas lingüísticas. El último año ha sido duro, lo que comenzó como un simple golpe, hace exactamente un año por esta fecha, que me llevó a haberme exámenes semanas después por el dolor intermitente terminó en un diagnóstico de #Cáncer de pulmón en etapa IV. Desde la última publicación he tenido un dolor intenso que se ha extendido de solo en brazo hacia los huesos en el hombro, antebrazo, muñeca y dedos. La tarde del 24 cambió mi panorama de dolor se incrementó cuando me recosté a descansar y me lo impidió un fuerte dolor en los dedos que me obligó a incrementar la dosis de analgésicos al triple desde ese día casi todos los días. Ayer literalmente el dolor me tumbó. Aunque hoy estoy mejor, vivir con dolor 24/7 desde hace un año ha sido todo un reto. Sam, cada vez peor, solo se levanta para bajarlo a hacer sus necesidades con ayuda y comer; la fecha de dejarlo ir se acerca. Pero en medio de esta tormenta está mi Dios, el que conocí solo a través de las escrituras, llevándome de la mano acompañándome en mi dolor pues su hijo también sufrió dolores como el mío y mayores y me puede entender. No estoy solo. The Poli House is a modern cubical residence located on the Coliumo peninsula in Chile - designed by architects Mauricio Pezo and Sofia von Ellrichshausen. . The structure is located on the Coliumo peninsula, a countryside inhabited by farmers, fishermen, and some tourists who occasionally visit. The Poli House is compact yet isolated and the architects wanted to portray two ideas: the sensation of a natural podium surrounded by the vastness and the dizzying and wide-open space produced by the sight of the sea washing against the rocks at the foot of the cliffs. . The architects Pezo and von Ellrichshausen follow a minimalist approach and claim they do not “design.” It’s a word they seem to dislike because it suggests over-refinement; a distance from being truly ‘personal’.
