First things first, basic materials for basically any cosplay.

No need for sewing machines or even embroidery hoops, they’re pretty new in the grand scheme of things and people made insane stuff without them for millenia after all.

(I actually recommend learning hand sewing FIRST, it lets you learn how to fix your stuff in a pinch and is way easier to get into. It’s slower, sure, but it also lets you make finer, more consistent seams and if you have sensory issues tied to sound it’s FAR less likely to set you off. Plus, it’s calming and frankly impresses the hell out of people at competitions and the like and some groups (like re-enactments) do not count machine made things at all in their competitions and standards.)

All you need to sew clothing is a needle, thread, scissors, a measuring tape, a pencil and sharpener or chalk to mark things in a washable way, fabric and time.

If you aren’t totally confident in being able to track seams or keep them even, straight pins or clips helps hold stuff together. You also want these if you don’t want to transfer a pattern from paper to the fabric with drawn lines, but that’s also not exactly needed since I go off the base shapes and measurements. If you aren’t confident with holding material extremely taught while you work on embroidery or bead work and the like, a good embroidery hoop can be found second hand for pretty cheap and you can usually find a really good one for under $10 usd at a craft store with an embroidery section (with $10 being a MASSIVE one, I recommend getting a 6 inch or less unless your doing something at a standing one, which is overkill most of the time).

I’ll explain how to use the materials later, but everyone has trouble with fabric and I’ve had people balk at the cost before, so here’s where to start (or if your on a tight budget)

- broadcloth: cheap cotton, comes in a whole array of solid colors and a staple of cosplay. Be sure to make certain you don’t make something too tight with this, it isn’t the best at holding up to extreme strain. Typically about $5 usd a yard… full price.

- quilting cotton: slightly more enxpensive and usually patterned in some way broadcloth. If you go to a fabric store they will have TONS of this. Averages about $6-8 usd a yard full price, depending on the brand and store.

- old linens: a cosplay classic. Go to goodwill or Facebook marketplace or a garage sale or something and buy up a bunch of old bed sheets and stuff or some curtains and be ready to get dirty with dye, bleach, and a lot of prayers. Best to aim for solid white, makes it easier, unless you want that specific color/pattern. Upside is that these make bigger pieces easier to make. Think cloaks, super big skirts, “Aladdin” pants, things that have a high depth AND width to the piece you need. Lowers the seam count, at least.

- Muslin: I will have an unhinged rant about historical vs modern muslin later on, but this is a fabric you can get for as little as ¢50 a yard in some cases used for a pattern making method called “draping” that will also be explained at a later date. It’s thick, completely undyed/unbleached, and sturdy enough to take some abuse and doesn’t gray too bad. It’s shit compared to historical muslin, but it does its job as a cheap canvas in a pinch. Be warned: these come on VERY short bolts and often aren’t “double wide” like other fabrics, which can be an issue and lead to TONS of seams.

Again, muslin is used to make patterns usually. Will explain “draping” later but it’s pretty self explanatory based on the name.

1-22 Apr | Fanzine #1 - Monotone

You will have until end of April 22nd (day we return after Easter) to work on completing your first fanzine. Fanzine #1 will be 12 pages long, designed with a monotone treatment, and based on one of the 10 topics.

TASK 1 PDP: Open your PDP. Spend 10 minutes to write down:

which of the 10 topics you would like to base Fanzine #1 on

which specific subtopic will you focus on (refer to our collective list)

how you will make the subtopic more personal to you / niche

TASK 2 FLATPLAN: Using the provided flatplanning document in Adobe Illustrator, you will need to create thumbnail sketches to plan out the 12 pages of your first fanzine. Add your flatplan to your Supporting Document, with annotations.

If you wish to do more pages, they must be multiples of 4 (so 16 or 20). Remember, a fanzine is not a magazine. It does not need to follow conventions, and can be more free. A fanzine does not need to be crammed full of information.

TASK 3 GATHERING ASSETS: Research and gather the following assets based on your chosen topic and include them in your Supporting Document. All assets should be grouped and labelled.

Imagery - copyright-free/your own primary images/ from secondary sources if credited. Can also be hand-drawn illustrations and scanned.

Text - writing regarding your theme - you can be creative and write stories, poetry, recipes, diaries etc, or purely information. There is no set word count. Text can be from secondary sources if quoted and credited.

TASK 4 MAKE: When you are ready to, you can start making your first fanzine. In Adobe InDesign, use the following settings:

Management of your files is an aspect you will be graded on, so please make sure you save all assets for this fanzine within one folder.

Screenshots

Don’t forget to screenshot! Please document key stages of development when creating your fanzine by pasting screenshots in your Supporting Document. Remember, screenshots should always be annotated in terms of what you did. Screenshots can be a pain to remember, but they should help illustrate your making process, and a critical part of evidence for the AC2 Problem Solving and AC3 Technical Skills grading criterias.

EXTENSION: If you have finished your Fanzine #1, you can use this template to create a mockup of your fanzine’s front cover and an inside double spread. Save your 2+ final images as JPGs and add to your Supporting Document.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations

"To say that Nothing is True, is to realize that foundations of society are fragile and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. As I’ve been reading a lot about the Crusades recently, it seemed a natural progression to try playing Assassin’s Creed for the first time since the franchise began a decade and a half ago.

And I honestly can't think of anything to say other than I am in love.

Don't get me wrong - I adored AC2 with an immediate, earnest passion that I've only felt a handful of other times in my life. I loved ACB as well - not in the same way, perhaps, but in the way someone might love what in retrospect felt a little like an extended AC2 DLC. But from the moment Assassin's Creed: Revelations started to the bitter end, I was in love.

Part of this was the opening, which hit hard on all the right emotional notes, and the first memory sequence, which was just enough tutorial to suit without twisting itself into knots to explain why the Master Assassin and Mentor of the Brotherhood needs a refresher. And when Ezio does have to learn new skills, it was handled pitch-perfectly with Yusuf acting like the beloved nephew teaching his favorite uncle how to use some newfangled bit of tech. (Ultimately, it was this addition of new skills which sets ACR above ACB rather than the leap forward in graphics, making everything new and exciting. Everything about ACR was new and exciting and fresh in a way most fourth installments of a series lack, and there was no end of squee during my play through.)

It has its faults - the Den Defense was something I never figured out, as somehow nothing I ever did seemed to work no matter how far ahead I was when the Templars started rolling siege equipment through the streets of Constantinople, which stretches credulity. Yusuf's death hurt and had an air of pointlessness to it that really twisted the knife when Ezio just addressed his replacement as Assassin instead of so much as a name. The switch of Eagle Vision from Y to LS on Xbox tripped me up for a good third of the game, and while I liked the upgraded Eagle Vision in general, it did take me longer than I'd like to realize you had to hover over each target with the cursor rather than automatically find the gold one.

And yet, I loved it. I loved it so much that I played the last few memory sequences at a crawl, for as desperate as I was to know what happened next, I didn't want it to be over. I didn't want my time with Ezio to end. His story arc was practically perfect in every way, as was the addition of Altair's later memories to reinforce everything Ezio was feeling and thinking, and the idea of giving him up hurt. It still hurts. There's a part of me that wants to go back and replay all the Ezio trilogy even as the rest of me wants to know what happens in AC3.

Hell, I've even dragged my heels writing this review because it felt too much like closure.

Ezio is one of those video game characters that comes around so rarely I honestly can't think of an adequate comparison. It's rare you get a character that accomplishes so much while still seeming human - trying, failing, making mistakes, trying again. On the face of it he should be a ridiculous stereotype, and yet he's anything but. His whole story arc of setting aside revenge, of realizing he will never have all the answers he seeks... it is beautiful and poignant and I'm more than a little in love with him. (And, no, it's not fair he somehow managed to get hotter for ACR, and there are things I didn't need to know about myself, thank you very much.)

Hell, I fell a little bit in love with all the characters we got more than five seconds with. Yusuf was bright and brilliant and deserved better. Clay was - well, I don't have words beyond wishing to have seen more of him. Sophia was someone I could honestly see Ezio retiring to be with. Altair was a delightful treat to see again. And Desmond... well, I really wish his memories were actually playable, as I got so nauseated trying to fall correctly at the end of the second one that I had to lay down in the dark for about an hour after.

That may honestly be my biggest complaint - Desmond's memories were something you could skip over. (Something you had to skip over if you wanted to keep your lunch.) I think if they had found a way to incorporate that into conversations with Clay on Animus Island instead of monologues in confusing first person settings without clear goals I would have had to give this game an 11 out of 10.

ACR is a game I came out of with a lot of feels, nearly all of them positive. It was a fun game that was just challenging enough to feel like completing parts of it was an accomplishment without the utter frustration that came from Leonardo's flying machine in AC2 and ACB. As sad as I am to give up Ezio, it was a worthwhile conclusion to his story, and now that I've had nearly a week to mourn I'm ready to move on to AC3. But I'll definitely be coming back to replay this one. 5 out of 5 stars, cannot recommend enough.

Yes? Sorta?

As someone who finished the AC games in 3ish months (although I have finished AC1, 2, and Syndicate before this ordeal), I can say for certain that it's doable... depending on what you consider as side quests.

The old AC games are fine in that regard BUT, for the love of god, get a guide for the collectibles.

Also, if you're going for speed, fuck immersion, get the highest possible weapon and armor as soon as possible.

Brotherhood

The ult armor isn’t as pretty as the Armor of Altaïr but get it as soon as possible.

Use your recruits, make them work for it like they’re unpaid interns and you’re Miranda Priestly. (also applicable to Revelations)

Do you… do you plan on doing all the challenges? If you did the challenges in AC2, you have an idea of what’s going to happen.

Revelations

The Defense thingie is random af and I was lucky enough to never have to do it after the tutorial so I hope you get as lucky as I am?

No, seriously, are you going to do the challenges? The defense thingie will count as complete if you get all dens. You don’t have to actually play the defense game. The Assassin’s challenges unlock the Sword of Altaïr though so you know which one I bothered to get XD

Desmond has his own freerun sections but you can do all of them in one go after finishing the main game.

3 and Liberations

If you want to 100% sync AC3, there's a Haytham mission that's hard to 100% during your first playthrough, skip it and get back to it when you have access to smoke bombs and use smoke bombs to make things easier.

Are you still going to do all the challenges???

Fuck the flying pages in this game, man.

The tree viewpoints of this game are screwed up and Ubisoft didn’t bother patching it up. It’s doable, just painful.

The DLC’s last boss is a pain and has a bullethell-like section that I died on a lot. Good luck.

Liberation: the canoe section will kill you. Repeatedly. I will say that pressing down all shoulder buttons help but it will kill you. Repeatedly. I suggest you skip Liberations for last if you’ve wasted more than an hour trying to finish the canoe section. No. Seriously. There’s no real trick to that canoe.

Black Flag and Freedom Cry

Okay, so… are you going to try and take down the legendary ships? Because they’re hard as hell even with a fully upgraded Jackdaw. They each have a specific hard defense section so if you know which it is, don’t fire there.

Berserk is OP.

Fuck the flying pages in this game, man. (They do have the sea shanties and I hate it because I love listening to their sea shanties)

Rogue

Fuck the pigeons in this game, man.

Grenade them all.

Even if your ship is underleveled, mortar them all while strafing will keep you alive while dealing damage.

No seriously, mortar is your best friend in the naval combats of this game.

Legendary ships are also in this game.

Unity

Don't bother with the locked red chests in Unity. What they have is not worth it and, as far as I know, there are no unique collectibles in those chests?

Do not, I cannot stress this enough, do not try to max out Arno’s level. The exp grind is not worth it and there’s really no reason for you to do it.

Unity leans heavily in stealth so get the outfits that ups your stealth but belts (and I think the bracers???) should focus on increasing your tools amount. Also, any outfit that ups your Eagle Vision time (because someone in Ubisoft thought it would be a goooooddd idea to make Arno’s Eagle Vision have a limited time) is nice too.

Berserk them all.

Phantom Blade can be used to stun enemies if you need a few extra seconds.

The Disguise ability is OP as long as you have nearby NPCs.

The coop missions can be done alone but it would be easier if you have at least one person playing with you. You can still get people playing online… last year. I don’t know how it is this year. (since you’re playing on the PS5, you’d have to have a PS+ membership to go online though :() I think they shouldn’t count as sidequests btw as they have minimal ‘story’.

Helix rift guide to get Altaïr’s outfit (๑•̀ᴗ- )✩

Syndicate (not much ‘cause you did say you already got all collectibles)

Main Evie and get her camouflage skill to make stealth missions easier.

Jack the Ripper DLC is pretty good and has fun terror mechanics but there are also ‘challenges’ there.

Odyssey

This dude has the best OP builds so if you wanna blaze thru it, check his videos (do not get the nimean lion set, just getting armor with crit abilities will work)

Speaking of which, get the Bighorn Bow from your free helix credits in this game. It’s the only thing worth it with what small amount they give and, in a nutshell, that bow gives all its dps to your left melee weapon, helping it maybe get twice the amount of damage.

Burn them all.

Don’t bother with the daily and weekly missions unless you know you can do them while you’re doing sidequests or story missions. They’re a huge time waster (especially the naval combats).

Are you… are you planning to take the top spot of the mercenaries? Um… Good luck???

Valhalla

Ignore Reda’s daily and weekly requests but accept them. If you finish them, good, if you don’t, it doesn’t matter. Weapons are the only thing in the shop that really matters because outfit ‘bonus skills’ only really make a difference if you have more than one or two of the same set.

Gungnir is OP. Pair it with Wrath of the Druids DLC’s Gae Bolg. Unfortunately Gungnir is a late game weapon :(

If you can sneak your way past the high-level enemies, you can get the skill books and stuff and hightail out of there. The free Isu armor you can get by doing the 'cave' thingies is nice.

Get explosive arrows as soon as possible so you can take down cracked walls.

The rock physics of this game will screw you over.

Viking your way and leave a trail of death and destruction (and apparently human-eating pigs) behind.

Unorganized Notes:

Ezio’s games and Unity have a wait and profit type of money making so if you're okay with it, keep the game on while you go to work (keep our boys in a safe place though) and get the money afterward. (I'm not saying you should remote access your ps5 using the remote access ps app on your phone during your free time to get more money buuuutttttt)

Look for guides on how to make money the fastest in the other games and buy the highest armor you can get as quickly as possible to lessen the headache of the story missions.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but get an Ubisoft Connect account. They have free weapons and stuff for the AC games it detects you playing (and it can detect it if you just connect your PSN account to it). The free weapons aren’t anything gamebreaking BUT they will make early game easier. Don’t bother participating in the weekly missions unless you like the reward though. They’re too much of a time waster.

BACKUP YOUR SAVE FILES. Don't be like some poor unfortunate soul who was halfway to Unity and got her save file corrupted because it was saving when the power went out and the dumbass forget there was a schedule blackout that day.

I have no tips for Chronicles because… well… they’re pretty straightforward??? Oh yeah, the PS app on your phone will say Chronicles is only playable in the PS4, that's a lie.

Probably going to be an unattainable goal but...seeing as AC MIrage has been announced for October, I'm going to try my best to beat ALL the AC games before it's release.

I've already finished AC2 and Origins, I'm decently through AC1, I think, I have a good 12+ hours in both Odyssey and Valhalla, and in Syndicate I have all of London's collectibles already collected, so I should be able to stroll through the story easy enough.

But that still leaves 6 games I haven't touched at all, plus Bloodlines and the 3 Chronicles. Does anyone think I will be able to accomplish this?

(BTW, by beat I don't mean platinum the games, but I do mean get all the collectibles and side quests and such.)

i do love assassin’s creed 3 but GOSH i wish it didn’t rob us of some story points...

like i know we see connor reading haytham’s journal at the beginning, but i wish we’d gotten MORE of a reaction out of him when he realized the head Templar was his father. 

Likewise I know Haytham was able to put things together and figure out Connor was his son before they properly speak for the first time, but like...I wish we’d seen that realization.  I wish we’d seen how Haytham initially reacted to that.  How Haytham’s goonies reacted.

They give us this juicy juicy central conflict of Connor fighting against his own father and then they don’t...give us these moments.  And it’s frustrating because i LOVE Connor.  He’s one of my favorite assassins.  But he’s got this Shakespearean level conflict going on and the game doesn’t dig into it the way it should.

Will admit my dislike towards Shez is mostly based on how everyone seems to now be bashing Byleth for it, because "Oooo it was SO easy to make a protag with personality" or "Ooo Shez is doing the bare minimum and is still better" like?? You don't HAVE to put a character down when you say you like a character? And Byleth did have personality i thought - they're even shown to have a little in the brief glimpse you get before they get snapped out of the demo in my opinion. Or maybe I'm just being too sensitive :P

Okay so I have been an Assassin's Creed fan for a long time. I played the first game when it was newly out. That's how I got into the series. I have kept up with it...well enough? I played the first "three" (yes I'm counting the Ezio trilogy as a single unit, and I have played all of them), I eventually managed to get through the next trilogy of Black Flag, Unity which I loathed we do not speak of it, and Syndicate, and I keep trying to play Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla but the major changes to the control scheme have made them impossible for me to succeed at so at some point I need to go in and overhaul the controls so I can actually progress out of what amounts to tutorial land. This isn't about the later games, though: this is about that original trilogy, and you will understand why shortly.

So you might have noticed that the first "three" bit is a bit odd. See, the first game took place during the Third Crusade (1191), focusing primarily on the cities of Acre, Damascus, and Jerusalem and followed master assassin Altair as he royally fucked up, got demoted, and then worked his way back up through the ranks and learned some humility (among other things). He was kind of full of himself at first, but while he was an interesting enough guy overall, it was really the wider story and open world game mechanics that proved to be the major draw of the game and got it greenlit for another.

The second game took place during the Italian Renaissance, and followed a young Florentine nobleman Ezio through his teenage years and the trauma of losing his family to a conspiracy, becoming an assassin under the tutelage of his uncle, and hunting down the men responsible for having his family killed. Ezio was...well, very Italian: very expressive, very emotive, very suave, very charming, lots of gestures when he talks, very open and expressive and emotive. And he was popular -- so much so that, rather than going to Assassin's Creed 3, they instead did two spin-offs that continued to follow Ezio through his life: one covering the Borgia papacy and set mostly in and around Rome, and a second covering the rise of the Ottomon Empire in and around Constantinople.

Revelations brought Ezio's story to a close, at which point the series finally moved onto the "third" game, set during the American Revolution. And this was where they did something that to this day I find incredibly clever: they start the game having you play as Haytham Kenway, a British man working to establish an operative network in the colonies and find the use for a key he stole back in England. You spend roughly five hours with him, going through all the usual motions of an Assassin's Creed game, and while he's rather more brutal than Ezio was he still acts and talks just like the assassins we've come to know over the years...

...and then at the end of those five hours he gets together with his operatives and speaks the Templar phrase and pulls the fucking rug out from under you

Look to this day I think fondly of that reveal, that for all their enmity and their millennia of war the Assassins and Templars basically operate the same way such that there's very little to distinguish one from the other when approached from an outside perspective, it's brilliant and it plays so beautifully into the game's overarching themes

So after that, the main game opens up and we start following Ratonhnhaké:ton (who goes by Connor, in interactions with people outside his tribe), the son of Haytham Kenway who was raised by his Kanienʼkehá꞉ka mother among her people, as he sets out to join the Assassins for the sole purpose of stopping the Templars who threaten his people and their way of life. The whole game with him is probably my favorite narratively, and Connor is my favorite assassin to this day.

Fandom hates him.

Or at least it did when I was playing. For all I know opinions have changed. But there were lots and lots and lots of criticisms about Connor being emotionless, uninteresting, etc. despite the fact that he...really wasn't? He had a quieter emotional affect: he was generally more measured, more tempered, but that meant that when he raised his voice you knew he meant business. I loved his generally more stoic handling and how powerful that made his more emotive moments, but the fandom just looked at him and said that he had the emotionality of a brick wall and generally dismissed or derided him...in favor of his dad. Who was an upper class British man, cultured, polished, and emotive in familiar ways.

A lot more similar to Ezio, basically.

They latched onto the character that was more similar to the one they'd just spent three whole games with, and that sent the message to Ubisoft that that's what people wanted -- which is why the next three games featured Ezio clones as their protagonists: Edward Kenway, Arno Dorian, and Jacob Frye are all very Ezio-adjacent, though some more successfully pull it off than others. Connor became a failed experiment because people didn't want to bother learning how to read a new character: they just wanted more Ezio.

And that's what immediately comes to mind with Shez bringing on Byleth bashing. People want an emotive avatar for their Fire Emblem game: they don't want someone with a more nuanced emotional affect, they want Brash Shounen Protag, and when one appears they will bash the more nuanced character for being "emotionless" or "not having a personality" (which, for the record, I do think Byleth does have -- seeing how they become more emotive through their Supports in 3H is great, the way they become more expressive in B and A conversation, says a lot to me about how they're willingly adapting to the norms of people around them in order to better interact) when they're just not seeing what they want to see and therefore not paying attention.

Anyway, Shez is fine enough but I still prefer Byleth from all I've seen so far (though I do love Arval being a sassy little shit).

History of the Creed - Part 5: Assassin’s Creed: Liberation

This review would have been earlier if I hadn’t had problems with the Internet.

Before we start, here is a fun fact: This is actually the first time I played Liberation. So my opinion may end up differently if I’ll play it in the future. Also, I didn’t get every collectible, since everytime I play the game for the first time, I tend to skip around 50% of the optional stuff to see how the main story ends.

So, without any further to do, let’s get it started.

ASSASSIN’S CREED: LIBERATION (Original release in Europe: October 30th, 2012 (original version on PSVita), January 15th, 2014 (HD version on PC))

Played on the remastered version, released on March 29th, 2019.

Liberation is an interesting case of a game. As shown higher, it was originally released for the handheld-console, PlayStation Vita, as a side game along with AC3. It was later released on the main consoles due to the fans’ petition, adding some content into it, and changing some of the more irritating stuff in it. The remaster I play is based on the latter version. Time to find out if I liked this game.

STORY

Now the plot is rather… how to put it… kinda’ messier than AC3 due to the jump cuts in the Animus console or how the fuck this version of the Animus is called. Here’s how it goes:

You are Aveline de Grandpré, an Assassin and the daughter of the French merchant and the slave woman. She wants to free slaves and stop the local Templars and their leader, The Company Man, from doing... whatever Templars want to do.

So, uhm… yeah, that’s all I can understand from it. The (probably) only thing that stands out is how Liberation is also an in-game product created by Abstergo, but I’ll talk about it later.

CHARACTERS

Aveline is… fine, I guess? I can see why many people like but me? I’m not so sure about it. She wasn’t really annoying but I can’t really see her standing out.

Other characters were doing a nice job. Aveline’s mentor, Agaté, was the most interesting out of all of them, while captain Carlos Dominguez was the funniest character, mostly due to his drunken antics. Also, I liked Connor’s cameo in one of the missions.

As for the Templars, they were underwhelming. Surely, most of them were interesting but I feel like some of them didn’t have enough screen time. The Templar before the confrontation with the Company Man might be the best out of the bunch.

As for the Company Man, well, this character’s identity is kind of interesting but I’m not gonna talk further due to spoilers.

GAMEPLAY

One of the biggest cases of Liberation is that Aveline can change her outfits into three different personas. Each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. Assassin’s Persona will let you freerun, use bigger weapons, and have more health for the cost of constantly being at the first level of notoriety. Lady’s Persona will let you bribe or charm other guards to let you pass, but you can’t have any weapon outside of the hidden blades, your health is lower, and you can’t freerun. There is also a matter of Citizen E. As I said earlier, Liberation is also an in-game product created by Abstergo itself, and while playing Aveline’s story you will notice the glitches during some of the cutscenes. After completing some of the main missions, in some places there is hidden the Citizen E. Killing them will play the rest of these cutscenes.

In my opinion, this stuff is fine, but I feel like in some places it becomes more obvious that it stagnates. I have mixed feelings on how some of the collectibles can be earned only by a specific Persona. I really enjoyed Citizen E stuff though, due to the award it gives.

GRAPHICS

The graphics, from what I’ve seen, are on the same level of quality as AC3 most of the time. Sure, in some parts is worse, since it started as a Vita game but still, it was good in other parts. As I said at the beginning of the review, this is the first time I played Liberation so I’m not gonna compare it to its previous version.

SOUND

The sound effects were on the same level as AC3 so, it was good. Although the enemies sound somewhat too loud which can get annoying.

The music (composed by Winifred Phillips) was fine most of the part. My favorite one was the one that played in Chicken Itza.

STABILITY

Framerate, for most of the time, was constantly running at 60 FPS except when synchronizing viewpoints for some reasons where it drops to 30 FPS.

The bugs I encountered during my playthrough were actually worse than in AC3. One time, Aveline didn’t appear in the cutscene, so all this time I was watching nothing but her voice. Other time when the game faded to black when I was changing my Persona, it didn’t return to normal, fixed only after I exited and returned back to the game. Another time it straight up just crashed (I think it was during one of the Business Rival missions)! Sure, Assassin’s Creed 3 wasn’t a diamond in terms of bugs, but at least those bugs weren’t so severe as the ones in Liberation.

SUMMARY

Assassin’s Creed: Liberation has many problems: some of its mechanics are redundant, the story and its characters could’ve been better, and the bugs that I’ve encountered were worse than in AC3. Did I still have fun while playing it? Yes, I still had some fun. And I can understand that this game was developed as the handheld console game first that was later ported for the home consoles and PC, but still, if I had to rate this game, I would say it’s just an okay game. Would I recommend it to the other fans? I honestly don’t know. There is some spoiler stuff about the Company Man in Black Flag, but I feel like you won’t miss that much if you skip Liberation.

But oh well, at least the next game on the list is better than this one. Better prepare some ship for the next game. It is the type of game that some certain Vaska will enjoy.
