trial week

soooo, i haven't posted in a while, because this week's been extra busy. i am trying out a new set of routine and a new method to increase my productivity which is time blocking plus day theming. and so far it's been working great! i'll write something about this technique in the future but here's what i did last week:

did some email cleaning (ahck so messy!!!)

finished two reflection papers and a laboratory report on my major subj

started an online course on python programming

met with my mentor for my regular coaching session last wednesday. talked about focus and consistency

1. i’m currently learning how to speak/read/write hindi, and how to read/write telugu! (i can speak it, but rather poorly. as my grandmother tells me so often sksksks)

2. i’ve been binging the haunting of bly manor this week. is it good? no. is it extremely predictable? yes. but i love spooky stories with big casts and winding backstories, so i’m (regrettably) the target audience for this

3. it’s my best friend’s birthday today!! i called her at midnight and she picked up even though she’d been sleeping. that’s true love ;o;

hi! my name’s almasa and am a british (ethnically sri lankan) student who is doing her gcses. i go by she/her pronouns! i’m a virgo, a hufflepuff and an infp (but am probably ambiverted). aside from compulsory english lit + lang, maths and triple science, i’m learning french, german, history and religious studies for my gcses. as well as this, i’m doing a course in arabic outside of school. i’m absolutely loving all the subjects i’m doing at the moment but if i had to choose, my top three would be english (both lit and language), chemistry and french.

my interests : ( what i like doing )

reading, writing, journaling (i’ve been on a longgg journal hiatus but i’m trying to start again!), baking, cooking, history, reading poetry, listening to music, learning languages, exploring cultures- i’m actually enjoying quite a lot about life at the moment.

why have i started over? : ( a fresh start! )

my purpose and aim with this blog is productivity, positivity and self care. after a bit of a rough academic year last year as well as personal issues, i’ve wanted to work on this blog and finally use this as some sort of motivation as well as spreading a bit more positivity and making friends! because i need friends on here oof-

my goals for this year : ( what do i want to achieve? )

i want to be kinder to myself. i want to stay healthy and exercise regularly. i want to (try) and improve my art skills. i want to post more original content. finally, i want to start the 100 days of productivity in december!

@thomastudies - probably one of my favourite social media pages. a lot of advice for those of you who, like me, are studying languages at the moment as well as a lot of aesthetically pleasing, colour-coordinated posts.

@kindlestudies - i actually only followed her quite recently but i love her blog! like many of the others listed here, she posts a range of content and i love the layout of her blog.

@studykouffee​ - some of the most beautiful, simplistic journal spreads- one of the reasons i started journaling again.

i have very messy bed sheets, my excuse? it’s prelims week :) — as much as i want this week to end already, the next week after this is filled with video presentations and reports so idk if i’m okay with that but oh well hehe so here are my notes in education psychology, one of my favorite subjects for this semester!

✨ long overdue holiday spread 🎅🏼 — hey guys! been a while since i’ve last posted original content and i apologize 🥺 my personal life has been really overwhelming lately due to my mom’s passing just after the first day of the new year. i don’t know why i’m sharing this but i’ve been in this community for so long that it feels like a safe space to me. it’s getting harder each day to try to function without my mom, but i’m hopeful for better days. i don’t know what 2021 has in store for us, but i’ll take any chance for it to be just even a tad better than last year. for the mean time, cheers to the new year! 🥂
