The calendar

Cold was nothing new in Norway, even the summers didn't seem unbearably warm. They were rather tepid and rainy. It was frustrating, depressing and damn heavy metal.

The group could hardly wait for the first snowflakes to fly over the land and the city to finally be bathed in white. Because you die faster in the cold, especially when your limbs are freezing and the group could stay at home.

At home where they could drink beer and play music so loudly that icicles broke down the window and even killed a squirrel. But it was the winter they all went outside for the first time.

The winter in which the Black Circle group got a new member. Their dark ruler, Lillith, who was also their Satan's daughter. The girlfriend of the band's founder, vocalist and Black Circle member.

She was the girlfriend of Euronymous, Dead and Faust, a relationship between the four of them that, although strange at first, had settled down between them all. ,,Come on now! It's snowing!" Shouted the young woman from the group who was already standing at the door. She looked at her loved ones as Dead matched the bright white colour of the snow.

The blonde was in no mood at all in the winter months, his mood seemed to sink even more. The black-haired band leader, on the other hand, didn't seem to identify with the cold and let his fingers glide over the guitar - he definitely had other problems.

Faust, on the other hand, seemed almost like a little child as he had already drunk a quarter of the mulled wine and was waiting for it to take effect.

,,Alright, but just for a moment, we still have to practise," the leader said and she gave him a hasty kiss before he pulled Faust and Dead along with him. The three of them stood outside in reasonably packed winter clothes and seemed to be either happy or hating it.

While Faust started to play with his love in the snow, trying to roll up some snow and throw birds in the trees. Euronymous, on the other hand, made a snowman that looked more like it would jump on children and kill them.

,,Aim a little higher, my death," she said to the blond as she was released by Faust, who gave her a slightly tipsy kiss. The mulled wine seemed to make its effect all the more pronounced in the cold.

Dead only gave a short nod and she rubbed his arms a little, he was even colder than usual and yet she knew he didn't mind. Not yet. ,,You see, it works," she said as he actually wiped out a bird that staggered dazedly and flew away.

She saw the hint of a smile on his lips and she gave him a kiss on the head. She knew that beneath his snow-white, ice-cold skin, the blush on his cheeks was flushing. Going to Euronymous with a snowball, she lightly threw it at him. She saw how he smirked and yet looked at his work.

The snowman looked like Satan and the sticks that represented the horns made her laugh. ,,Really creative, my love," she said, leaning against him and feeling his kiss on her cheek. Watching her favourite people in winter, she knew it was working. That she would make this Christmas a black metal one. Including trashy Christmas love for her three boyfriends.

But the three of them knew when Faust started talking to the snowman that he had definitely had enough snow, alcohol and winter. Instead, Dead and Euronymous took the brown-haired man between them and their love opened the door for the three of them before heading towards the kitchen.

She decided to make four hot chocolates before she gathered marshmallows from the cupboard and sat down on the couch with her beloved.

They all snuggled together under several warm blankets as they flicked through the flickering TV and savoured their hot chocolate. The Black Metal winter was a complete success after all.

So yesterday I made my Bedraggled, Forlorn Fox the "mouse"/mascot of the semi-heretical (depends on who you ask) church I'm building halfway between London and Hell! He is very sweet! (And wants me to spend the proceeds from the collection plate on improving the church because how dare he not have a better quality of pillows and toys and food.)

My church is also dedicated to a saint I made myself! It's got five skulls! I got a skeleton with seven necks, and stuck on some duplicated skulls from my counterfeit head of John the Baptist via eldritch science. Didn't have enough bone fragments, though, so I couldn't do the full seven I wanted, and just slapped some balls of stygian ivory onto the remaining two necks to make them look like spinal protrusions.

Gosh I just love how extra unhinged I sound when I talk about this game. :D

I’ve never done an advent calendar before in my life. Now this December is going to be the roughest month of my life and I’m trying to trick myself into sticking around through all of it so now I have 5 advent calendars on their way lmao. Daily little treat make brain go brrr

as promised, the ibook itself functions as a monique hacked computer, and it is repo'd to the decorative, closed version of it. the 3d printer and toys that come with it are purely decorative. polycounts & stuff are under the cut if you want them; see y'all in the new year!

Batman: The Animated Series - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles

Happy Birthday Batman

An official DC Comics calendar published for 1976 identified February 19th as Bruce Wayne’s birthday.  Other dates have been mentioned in the comics as possibly being the Batman’s birthday yet the nineteenth of February still seems the most canonically recognized.  Really, a Pisces?  

In any case, to celebrate the Dark Knight’s birthday here are paper cut-outs of Batman in all his various animated forms.  Who knew there were so many?

The Adventures Of Batman was the first Batman cartoon series and ran from 1968 to 1969.  It stared Olan Soule in the role of Batman with a young Casey Kasem in the role of Robin. 

The SuperFriends brought Batman together with the world’s greatest heroes and ran from 1973 all the way to 1986.  Soul and Kasem both reprised their roles as Batman and Robin in the series.

The New Adventures of Batman ran for a single season in 1977 featuring Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin.  This was a particularly silly show and featured a great deal of a magical imp known as Bat-Mite.  

1992 saw the advent of the greatest cartoon of all time as Batman: The Animated Series debuted and ran through to 1995.  The great Kevin Conroy provided the voice for Batman.

The New Batman Adventures was a continuation of Batman: The Animated Series with some updated stylistic changes.  It ran from 1997 to 1999, featuring Conroy as Batman.  

Batman Beyond entailed a Gotham City of the future where an aged Bruce Wayne trains a young man on his path to filling the mantle of The Batman.  It ran from 1999 to 2001 and stared Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne and Will Friedle as his protégé, Terry McGinnis.

Justice League brought the Superfriends back together this time under the banner of The Justice League (and later Justice League Unlimited).  It ran from 2001 to 2006 and once more featured Kevin Conroy in the role of Batman.

The Batman, which ran from 2004 to 2008, departed from the continuity established in Batman: The Animated Series and presented a new version of the Caped Crusader and his various allies and adversaries.  It starred Rino Romano in the role of Batman with Evan Sabara and Danielle Judovits as Robin and Batgirl.    

Echoing the campiness of 1966, Batman: The Brave and The Bold was a fun, light-hearted anthology series that ran from 2004 to 2008.  Each episode saw Batman teaming up with different heroes of the DC Universe for madcap adventures.  Diedrich Bader stared as Batman.

The series Young Justice, which ran non-concurrently from 2010 to 2022, focused primarily on Robin and the other younger heroes as they made their way from being sidekicks to a team in the own right.  Batman featured in many of the episodes where he was voiced by Bruce Greenwood.  

Beware the Batman from for a single season in 2013.  Anthony Ruivivar voiced Batman in this dark, largely computer animated series.  

Batman Unlimited ran from 2015 to 2016.  This was primarily a commercial in animated form featuring short, action-packed stories in tandem with the release of action figures and toy vehicles.  Roger Craig Smith provided the voice for Batman. 

Justice League Action brought back the League for more light-hearted adventures with a star-studded cast.  It ran from 2016 to 2018 with Kevin Conroy returning to once again voice Batman.  

Batman appeared as a periodic guest star in the DC Super Hero Girls series, which ran from 2019 to 2022.  Herein Batman spoke in a barely audible growl that only the other characters could comprehend.  Whereas actor Keith Ferguson provided the voice for Bruce Wayne, who further hid his secret identity as the the Caped Crusader by featuring in the ridiculous reality TV show, ‘Making it Wayne.’

A lampooned version of the Dark Knight sporadically features in the zany Harley Quinn animated series, premiering in 2019.   Diedrich Bader reprises his role from Batman: The Brave and The Bold, voicing this decidedly goofier version of the Dark Knight.

And finally, hopefully debuting some time soon, Batman: The Caped Crusader acts as a spiritual successor to Batman: The Animated Series and features the final acting role of the late, great Kevin Conroy, reprising Batman one last time.

Smile Precure ended ages ago, on January 27, 2013, and as far as I'm aware the All Stars movies stopped including Miyuki and her teammates after 2018. Her most recent appearance being a cameo in a Hirogaru Sky Precure ending introduction this year...

Gosh--

I am lucky to be with the most lovely human beings and have had wonderful people in our past

I could go through every small thing-- any of the personalized items handcrafted designed to represent a specific relationship with each of the 5 (known/present) parts of our system; the letters that we treasure; the gifts that melt our heart; the dates; the traveling long distance to hold our hand after surgery; surprise meals when not expecting it; treating our fantasies like a wish list; giving me a home and a family when we needed them; loving us in general.

But truly?

Honestly?

The answer that means the most?

They called me by my name.

...it doesn't matter if it's 2018-2019 when we were finally coming out as trans, 2022-2023 when our therapist was helping us accept we were a system or the days when we were a username on a webforum and our name being something that needed to be earned through friendship and trust?

Hearing our name spoken with recognition, love and acceptance means the world-- showing that you see me and care is the sweetest thing I can imagine

The gestures are just window dressing to that sentiment

76. What’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever done for someone?

I dunno?

I don't think we're good at reciprocating-- Daja would likely say otherwise-- but it's something we lost when the previous stage of our life ended

In the married era we used to do big romantic gestures, we wore a tuxedo into Chicago and came to a concert performance at Civic Opera House that our ex was performing at with a bouquet of roses-- we had our silly little Valentines ritual where we both worked retail and hit Denny's at 2am and we put a flower inside a styrofoam cup with a kitty smile on (a reference to a novel I wrote for her)

Our little Family meant the world to me back then and I tried to do sweet things to our detriment-- especially as I was always better at doing it for some members of the family than others and that would have given a dramatically skewed perspective; in hindsight a "advent calendar" of OC art commissions is only as sweet as it is knowing that others did not receive that

I think that's why we stopped doing the dramatic sweet gestures in current life-- they were built up from a lens of monogamy and they were kind of self-serving? Like we wanted to feed on the enthusiasm and joy of the reactions and that lead to trying to find something that would get a reaction and from the ones who gave the best reactions which favored those with more extroverted expression and those who wore their passion on their sleeves

We just don't wanna alienate our shyer/reserved partners by pouring into the ones who react brightly-- y'know? It's unfair

We still do nice things-- we will read entire book series' to get closer to those we love-- we'll learn all the lore and music of a band to attend a concert with them-- we'll go halvsies with their spouse-human to get a piece of merchandise that is perfect for them

But these days what we have learned is to share a language with them-- to be able to craft intimate and appropriate gestures that are part of the relationship we have-- whether it be coffee dates-- a hypnosis session just for them-- a gift related to a personal experience we shared or just promises of things we'll share in a future that may or may not ever come

I just want to be sweet-- not do sweet things

I feel our life would have been better from the start if we learned that sweetness and kindness were not performative gestures

Your excitement for the EXO comeback brings me such joy! Unironically. Comeback excitement is just so fun! Like Kpop is Kpop but sometimes it can be so fun!

ahaha I'm glad you're enjoying it! i do try to tag my kpop posts with [emotional support kpop boys] juuust in case anyone wants to mute them though 😅

but this is EXO's first full (minus Lay unfortunately) comeback since like 2018, so it's a special one!!! i love the way kpop releases are scheduled out like a little advent calendar leading up to the album/title track MV. it's definitely a lot of fun!

also, sometimes it's nice to pretend to live in a world where the biggest problem i have is that kyungsoo didnt get enough lines in "Hear Me Out." hahaa

This year I decided to do something I haven’t done since 2018, which is creating an advent calendar for my beloved @singingofwinter! The past two years have been overwhelmingly cruel, and with life pushing her onto the very edge, I wanted to give her something to help get through the days.
