Man do I ever love kitschy Christmas Angels. 

Ya know, the mid-century decor where the proportions are just wrong, the faces are creepy, and for some reason, so many of them have turquoise eye shadow. 

Your grandmama probably had them because she thought they looked so precious.

Magic Dreams Under a Warm Blanket

When I was a little girl, of course I fantasized about having ALL the cats and kittens. 

I wrote and illustrated stories about cats and kittens. 

I poured through the pages of Cat Fancy Magazine at our local library.

I preciously saved all my Sandy Lion and Lisa Frank cat stickers.  

I finally got a kitten when I was....10...I think? 

I loved my kitten, but I also hated that she would MEOOOWWWW at my bedroom door at 6 in the morning even on weekends. 

She was also not as cuddly as I was expecting her to be. She almost always hated being picked up. 

I was awful at remembering to clean the litter box. Because I hated that too. 

Oh, and...I ended up being allergic to pet dander. 

Needless to say, my mom took care of that cat A LOT. 😬

I still like cats, but I am not interested in living with one any time soon.

Scotty is the kind of guy who was the class clown in school, but as an adult, his sense of humor is juvenile and obnoxious.

He’s the kind of guy that drinks too much at the company party, then gets in your face and tells you: “aahhhghhhghh yerrr no fun”.

He’s the kind of guy that makes you say: “Fuckin’ Scotty pissed me off so hard today” when you come home from work.

Scotty.

I’ll bet many of us have known a “Scotty” or two.
