Much tracing and tweaking later, I can die happy
Spent many hours on this and a lot of time staring at the Bad Batch model references but man am I happy how this came out!
Designed Bad Batch armor for my self insert character after she joins up with the boys. Her less human anatomy made it a bit more difficult (that’s why the back view looks funky, that’s a tail hole). I also had to figure how to tackle the lower portion of her legs give that wearing skin-tight blacks with thick fur would be all sorts of uncomfortable.
This is just the basics of course.
I gotta decide what guns she uses (if any) but for now I am satisfied with the result!
To design the armor I took bits and pieces from each of the Batchers:
Wreckers knuckle guard and shoulder pads
Hunter chest plate, thigh armor, and vambraces
Tech knee pads and bicep guards
Crosshair belt and groin armor
In a close fight, she’s a mix of Hunter and Wrecker. I tried to have a larger gap in armor where she’d be bending and flexing a lot while reinforcing her knuckles and shoulders for punching/shoulder slamming opponents. It’s scaled down to better fit her of course, but the shoulder pads are straight up Wrecker’s. One big edit I have is the front and back of her waist armor only connect at the sides. Otherwise nah that’s uncomfortable.
I recognize that the saber clips look like eyes, sshhhh
Since it’s Bad Batch related, I’m tagging everyone

SO
I commissioned my good friend Arven to draw some lines of my self insert (me) with the Bad Batch boys and finally, after three days of coloring and texturing, behold!
Tumblr media
Definitely have to click for better res because dang it tumblr.
Yes, look close and EVERYTHING is textured. My hand and eyes hurt from working on this but SO worth it!
Also yes, they’re not EXACTLY the same as the show. My fic series takes place in a slight AU where everything is basically the same aside from some minor tweaks and the fact I’m launching canon into the sun.
These clothes are what I call their “drawing friendly” clothes, but they are in their armor for my fic! I just like the concept of them having normal lives so I gave them normal clothes to trick my brain ^^
They’re scarred boyos, with each bearing a blaster wound somewhere. My character also has one, but it’s hidden by her shirt. The scars seen on my character (and the bullet wound) are not scars I personally have, but scars I gain in my fictional adventures. Some Batcher scars (namely Crosshair’s face) are gained in my fic series too.
I do intend to have Crosshair’s neck wound (caused by a VERY near miss from an opposing sniper) be prior to that though ^^
Hope you liked! :D
I’ll eventually get around to their armor because yes I got two versions ^^
Also yes, Hunter’s shirt says “#1 Buir”

Did the front of Shadow’s Bad Batch helmet a while ago but finally got around to designing the back!
For the back I kept it mostly dark colors then added a “Skull and Crossbones” inspired design using the Bad Batch skull!
Feedback is most welcome, click for better resolution!
I’m working on a full body armor currently and bruh. This gonna be messy

im probably late but for the WIP title ask what is Stitches?
Never late anon XD
Have a small segment of Stitches, set after me and the boys fight a rather nasty swamp critter called a Howler and I get cut up a bit :D
Cw: Crude stitching (medical), injury/blood mention
--------------------------------
My tail twitched as I sat with my back to Crosshair with the back of my sports bra pulled up so I could remain “decent” or whatever while he fixed my back. I was honestly a bit more concerned with the fact I had three giant gashes in my back.
Man to have Cross sewing me up though…
The sniper settled himself behind me and immediately remarked, “Relax. Can’t work if you’re tense.” The heat of his hand hovered over my skin before resting on my left shoulder blade.
I flinched at first before trying to force the tension from my shoulders.
“Better.”
While I couldn’t feel pain, I could feel the pinprick pressure of the needle at the top of one of the gashes. “Gentle...” I warned.
“Stop squirmin’.” A pause. “You’ll make it worse.”
Ears flicking at his tone, which I could swear bore an element of concern, I tried to sit still.
“There we go.”
I flicked my ears again and tried to focus on something other than the feel of the sniper’s hands on my back.
Finding nothing, I resigned myself to endure my brain’s hyper-examination of the sensory stimuli.
That warm hand still pressed against my back, steadying me as Crosshair worked. The rough pads of his fingers tickled as he stitched the skin back together, tugging it closed. Slow, even breaths warmed the back of my neck, raising the hair there. Silence, ripe with tension, hung thick in the air like early morning fog.
Should I make conversation?
No, he didn’t do conversation.
I couldn’t help but notice that, despite his rather abrasive and callous outward demeanor, his touch was...
Gentle.
Grounding.
The tension slowly trickled away, lifting from my shoulders and giving me space to breathe.
Hesitating, I brushed my tail against his leg.
The sniper made no comment.
I hesitated once more before I flopped it so it would stay against his thigh.
I still received no comment from the sniper. Perhaps he didn’t notice?
My next move was risky. So risky. But I needed to know.
I lifted my tail and rested it atop his leg.
He shifted... but left the tail there.
Interesting.
I released a tense breath and slowly let the bulk of my tail slide into his lap. There was no way in hell he didn’t notice it now. Yet he didn’t move it.
He doesn’t mind it? Cross, you really are a tough twig to figure out.
His hand left my back and thin fingers took hold of my tail. Yet instead of removing it, he adjusted it in his lap and went back to his work.

So I was thinking about making an RP account for my character Shadow.
I wouldn’t be able to do super long RPs with school coming up, but I’d be up to doing shorter ones.
You’d be able to ask Shadow questions and such about her adventures or the Bad Batch. I MAY open it to the boys but it’d only be in relation to Shadow or Adventures of an Idiot. Otherwise I know it’d get out of hand and all the asks/RPs would be for the boys.
I haven’t done RPs in years so I’d love some feedback on this! :D

Welp! Seems people wanted an RP account!
So here it is!
I’ll try to check it everyday but with college revving up we’ll see how that goes.
Feel free to interact! OCs or other RP accounts welcome!
Should be noted I’m a nervous bean and may be iffy with some asks first. I’m also extremely rusty as far as RP goes so... there’s that

Bruh this Bad Batch fan fic series is like four “short” stories and already my brain is saying “Ok but here’s how Umbara is gonna go down because you are gonna fix that mess before it happens” and I’m just sitting here like
I haven’t even started the plotting for the second story in the Bad Batch Arc, give me a minute.

Would you be okay with giving us some more snippets from when the gang rescues Echo? Sorry if this is a rude thing to ask...
Oh I’d LOVE to do that actually! No lie, been meaning to write more on that recently!
I currently do not have anything prewritten other than some vague snippets that, given the direction drafting is going, are going to be outdated and no longer applicable to the story.
The story itself is also in like... the void in terms of coherent-ness. I’m at a crossroads plot wise and really have ZERO idea which way I should take it (short and quick and action oriented or a long longer with later chapters having more of a domestic tone as Echo heals for about a week) so I’m not really sure where that’s going lol. (I don’t know how people feel about reading a story in the domestic vein of things, may have the initial rescue arc one book in the Adventures of an Idiot then the healing portion its own book in the This Is Why We Cant Have Nice Things series)
BUT DESPITE THAT MESS
I can give a short conversation from the prologue in a sort of “script” format. This is perhaps the only semi-concrete segment I have, and it will probably change as I get a better grip on Cody, but have it nevertheless!
---------------------
Hunter: “Commander.”
Cody, in armor about to leave the barracks: “Sergeant. I’ll have to make this quick, I’m about to head to a mission briefing. Master Evan Peil has been taken prisoner by the Separatists and they have him at the Citadel.”
Hunter, glancing at me: “That’s what I’m callin’ about, sir.”
Cody, perplexed and cautious: “I wouldn’t expect news to travel that fast. How’d you hear?”
Hunter: “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”
Cody, looking to me: “Is your new ally holding up? Or have you scared her off yet?”
Hunter, resting a hand on my shoulder: “She’s still hangin’ in. I’ll be quick, but remember how I mentioned our new addition had the occasional prophetic dreams?”
Cody, now wary: “Yeah?”
Hunter, hesitantly: “She just had one. About… Echo?”
Cody, shocked: “What?”
Hunter: “She has reason to believe something is going to happen to him, and she thinks she can save him, but she said she needs to know when you leave for the Citadel.”
Cody, tense and demanding: “What is going to happen to him?”
I step in.
Me, uneasily and with an unsteady voice: “Commander, sir, look I know it sounds crazy but I can’t tell you exactly what happens. It could jeopardize the events leadin’ up to it and fuck everything over. But I promise, I’m not askin’ to conduct some secret counter attack. All I want is to be able to rescue Echo.”
Cody, skeptical” “I need more information before I can give my own.”
Me: “You’re gonna be told in the briefin’ that Master Peil had the coordinates to a secret hyperspace lane called the Nexus Route. It can get you into Separatist and Republic controlled space. They gotta keep him alive until they get that out of him but they never will. If I’m wrong, forget I ever made this call.”
Cody ponders this then looks at Hunter: “Is she to be trusted?”
Hunter, with certainty: “I trust her with my life, commander. Never met a Nat-Born who cares about clones half as much.”
Crosshair, stepping back in: “I second that.”
Cody, convinced by Crosshair:  “I’ll trust your judgement then. I’ll inform you before we leave.”
Me, breathing a sigh of relief: “Thanks, Commander! But... don’t tell the Jedi.”
Cody, suspicious: “Why?”
Hunter: “Shadow is... nervous around authority figures. But commander I vouch for her, she isn’t a double agent.”
Cody, still suspicious but seemingly appeased by Hunter’s confidence: “I will trust you on this, Sergeant. Commander Cody, out.”

POV for the writing ask!
POV — something that’s already happened, retold from another character’s perspective
I actually had about three or four asks on this one! So I did a decently long rough draft! For this one, I went with a scene from my Fanfiction Off to a Great Start from Sergeant Hunter’s pov! This takes place in chapters 2 and part of 3, and honestly will make zero sense unless you read the original chapter since I skipped a lot of dialogue and key scenes. To be fair, I wrote it on my phone in thirty minutes last night lol. Even then its still messy af but it was fun!
If this gains enough feedback/enough people want to see it I may polish it out into a true chapter that goes through each dialogue exchange and action!
Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She left her… ice in the freezer?! Maker… this is going to be a long mission.
“Oh no…” Hunter groaned, ignoring Tech as he rambled something to the guide, Shadow.
Skittish. That was definitely a word to describe this guide. Skittish, spooked, and ready to bolt at a moment's notice.
Glad his helmet concealed his unimpressed expression, Hunter watched as Trevor pushed the guide, Shadow, up to them.
This was the fierce and strong willed woman he’d been telling them about?
After Trevor’s quick explanation of why they were here, and how they were looking for her specifically, Shadow swallowed. “Er, I’d love to chat but ya see-“
“This won’t take long,” Hunter interrupted. “I’m sure your… special ice will be fine.”
Blue eyes narrowed, giving Hunter a glimpse at what he suspected to be the true Shadow hidden beneath a false exterior.
There was something more as well, Hunter realized, when after claiming they were worse than normal clones she immediately winced. Regret at possibly pissing them off? No, she looked… genuinely remorseful.
How odd.
This woman… she wasn’t as she first appeared. She continued to be skittish and her voice squeaky yet…
There. As Wrecker started forward, Shadow shifted back, weight on her toes in a semblance of a fighting stance. No, not semblance. A subtle fighting stance.
A closer look revealed strong shoulders, powerful legs, and muscular arms. This Shadow was a trained fighter alright. But her demeanor suggested otherwise. Unless it was a decoy. A distraction to throw them all off.
Just as her voice rose, it then dropped to a rougher growl when she addressed Trevor who had, for some reason, dropped to his knees to beg Shadow.
Enough of this. Hunter reached out, lightly resting his on one her shoulder. “Look, Kid-“
Sharp pain shot through his wrist, shock waves rippling up his arm.
Right on the nerves. Accuracy like that on the first try, coupled with her stance and build, proved to Hunter he was definitely dealing with a trained fighter. Trevor’s next words confirmed it as well.
But when Shadow told her rank, Hunter instantly knew she was much higher. She had to be.
Another flash of what Hunter suspected her true personality to be as she threatened Trevor. Lurking under that skittish exterior was no doubt a bold woman. Hunter just had to figure out how to get her to reveal that.
Initiate a chase. Make her prove herself. It won’t be hard to determine if she’s really all he says or not.
“I’d be very interested to learn your rank,” Hunter said innocently.
Sharp blue eyes looked over him and narrowed in a glare.
This jumpiness is an exterior. It has to be. Hunter knew dangerous people when he saw them. Shadow did not at all strike him as malicious, but she wasn’t helpless.
There was a warrior under there, he just needed to bring her out.
If Trevor didn’t do it first of course. Fighting down the urge to chuckle at Trevor’s pained expression as Shadow flipped him, Hunter couldn’t resist a smile. This mission would be a most interesting one.
Her skittish side reappeared, however, after Trevor bolted and left her alone with them.
Her insults are… unique.
As he took off his helmet, Hunter could have sworn her eyes went straight to his hair. Did she like it or something? Why did that thought warm his cheeks a little? It must have just been hot in the outpost.
It did not help that she clearly knew who they were and what their reputation was. Nor did it help her voice held a note of respect for the squad.
Tech immediately took a liking, Hunter noticed, as he and Shadow briefly went back and forth about bones.
Despite her insult from earlier, Hunter did not expect the words “Homicidal Twig” to leave her mouth as she all but stared down Crosshair. The one member everyone seemed to fear. Not Shadow, apparently. Hells, from what Hunter could tell she held no fear of him.
Very interesting.
When she refused to help, Hunter tested the waters. “Can’t, or won’t?” he asked, allowing his threatening tone to bleed through.
Defiance and challenge shone in her eyes at this, telling him all he needed to know.
Skittish as a front, but the moment you pushed her, that persona faded and her true nature replaced it.
Yet she was still respectful. That was new. Perhaps all she needed was a nudge to help them.
Or perhaps a strong push, he realized as she stared him down. Now that was an unusual trait. A trait he had to respect and give her credit for.
“I said no. I get you ain’t used to hearin’ that, sergeant, but I don’t work well with threats.”
No you don’t. I’ll give you that.
But this woman needed to know he wasn’t joking around. They needed her help, and if that meant kidnapping her then that’s a step he would take. “I don’t do threats. I make promises.”
Judging by the reddening of her cheeks, his words had the desired effect. Yet still she refused.
He took a step forward. Predictably, she moved back. Definitely did not like people in her space.
Maybe he could get her to fight or run. See what she was made of.
The moment her eyes darted towards a low tunnel opening in the wall, Hunter knew things were about to get interesting.
He was unsurprised when she bolted and slid into the tunnel. Shouting orders, Hunter quickly slipped into the back tunnel he’d found while scouting.
Meeting her near what he guessed to be the slide into the main area, the sight of glowing eyes momentarily startled him. No human had those. Was Shadow not human? No, she had to be. Unless… was she a Clawdite? Unlikely.
“Hello there!”
Another smile tugged his lips. She was interesting, this mountain guide. “Should have cooperated, kid.”
A snort followed his words. “This is a game to y’all, ain’t it?” she grumbled.
You’re getting at it. Not 100% a game of course, but maybe he could turn it into one. “Maybe.”
Her response caused his grin to widen.
“Then let’s play!”
The true chase was on.
From OtRaTtW Ch 40 Magmatic Might
Unable to defend against the unseen force shoving him into the mouth of the tunnel, Hunter flew backwards and skid across the ground before hitting the wall of the cave. He looked up in time to see three commando droids jump over the now cooled lava rock overlaying the B1s.
Oh he’s not gonna like this. “Hunter… I respect your command. I respect what you can do. Above all, I respect you. But at the end of the day… you are not my officer. You’re not my boss. I don’t have to follow your orders.”
The sergeant stiffened. “What?”
“I’m not a member of the team. I follow only one person’s orders; my own. If I choose to put myself at risk in a firefight, you can’t stop me. That’s my decision.”
Spoiler Warning! But y’all could have figured this would happen. Takes place after the chapter: Pink Elephants on Parade to the Confession Booth so take that as you will!
He hated it. Hated the warm feeling that was slowly increasing into a raging fire. He'd fallen and he'd fallen hard for this damn mountain guide.
And he'd told her that. He let it slip like an utter idiot and now she probably was going to be all mushy with him. Or worse, laugh in his face. She’d just brushed him off before that bizarre hallucination occurred.
Yet... he couldn't bring himself to push her away as she slept on, completely unaware of the inner turmoil. Her tucked against his side, arm slung over his chest and leg hooked up over his hip... He hated how right it felt, her pressed against him.
Why couldn't he just push her away?! There was no place in war for weakness.
But the war wasn't here for the moment. There were no droids, no explosions, no blasters, no death.
Just him and Shadow.
What... what was one little weakness? She was clearly still asleep. She had to be. That was the only explanation for why she was this relaxed this close to him. Either way, he slowly pulled her up closer to him, mouth twitching into a small smile.
He swore a faint purr slipped past her lips as she snuggled closer to him, still dead to the world.
But that sound... Crosshair understood why she hated it.
It was downright adorable.
He risked pulling her closer, hoping she'd do it again and he could save the sound in his memory. Blackmail, of course. That was the only reason. He didn't... he couldn't really like this mountain guide.
What he'd said while high... that was just the cave gas talking.
But he knew, deep down he knew it was more than that. He meant every single word.
And she probably wouldn’t even remember it.
Both comforting... and agonizing.
OtRaTtW please!
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
have a good day!
Hi anon!
Ta da!
Source: OtRaTtW (Chapter??:??)
“Hey, this is my tree!” I barked at Crosshair.
“Yeah? What are you gonna do about it, sweetheart?” Crosshair said, looking at me over his shoulder.
I looked him dead in the eyes and muttered “Long live the king” before slamming my foot into his backside, sending him flying off the branch.
As Wrecker dove to catch his brother before he hit the dirt, I roared with laughter. “Hey, Crosshair I didn’t know you could fly!”
Furiously ripping himself from the grip of his brother, who was also laughing hard, Crosshair quickly scaled the tree and loomed over me. “You’ll regret that, fleabitten furball.”
I brought a foot up and braced it against the plate of armor protecting his stomach. “Make me, Twiggs.”
His scowl changed into a smirk. “Careful what you wish for, sweetheart.”
Quickly shoving him away with my foot, buying myself a precious few seconds, I twisted around and scrambled up the tree. A few branches above Crosshair’s head now, I shifted into the a tacrumel and scampered over to the next tree.
“You’re cheatin’,” Crosshair accused, easily making his way up into the higher branches.
“All’s fair in love and war!” I called down to him.
“There ain’t no ‘love’ here, kitten,” the sniper snorted before jumping up into higher branches, surprising me.
Ok, Twiggs clearly had no fear of heights. He had that advantage.
I leapt across to a different tree, or tried to. I’d misjudged the distance and gravity had taken hold.
I yelped as I began to fall from the branch. Claws scraping against the bark, I hissed a curse as I slipped off.
A thin hand grabbed my scruff, halting my descent.
This was literally the worst situation. Quite literally at the mercy of Crosshair... nah chief. Not good. I did not like the look of his face as the sniper held me meters above the ground.
“Tables have turned, brat,” he said, a sly smile showing through.
“C’mon Cross, just put me back on the branch,” I said, trying to keep the nervousness out of my voice.
Dark eyes held mine. “Long live the queen.”
“Asshole!” I screamed at him as he let go and I plummeted to the ground.
A pair of arms caught me, and I was immensely grateful Hunter could not see my embarrassment. “Howdy, Sarge.”
“Nice of you to drop in,” he teased.
