Concepts

I’m still figuring out if I want to develop these sites or if any of them are feasible or desired.  I figured I’d post up the synopsis to add context to the skin designs on my coding blog. I’ll probably do an interest check in the future.

PARADISO - y.a. dystopian (skinathon)  #paradiso

Paradiso is set a post-apocalyptic world set in the fictional city of Eden. Over the course of a couple months, a lethal virus killed everyone on earth over the age of 17. Forced to find new methods of survival, some children have banded together into tribes or semi-independent communities. Three years have passed and the struggles of Generation Zero range from dwindling resources, alliances, and unique conflicts / politics as they navigate the desolate cityscape of Eden City. Paradiso is inspired by O. T. Nelson's young adult novel The Girl Who Owned a City, the tv series The Tribe, and William Golding's Lord of the Flies.

 MEMENTO MORI - dark supernatural multi-city (skinathon) #memento

Memento Mori is set in a post-apocalyptic world spanning multiple cities. Human dominance has ended and a new world order, driven by supernatural species, has been established. A truce was made to end a 50-yr war and to salvage what was left of humanity. Most of the remaining humans have gathered to the larger cities for safety. The Dark Council holds main dominion. They divided full control amongst four cities: London, Paris, Rome for the Lycan, Vampire, and Demon Councils respectively. Treatises were signed to designate cities to factions outside of the Council: Madrid to the largest witch coven, the Basarabs, and Beijing to the ISPH, an adversarial faction dedicated to human survival. A religious group, gathered by the Church and protected by Angels, was established in Jerusalem despite their lingering but sheltered presence in Vatican City. Each city has mixed populations amongst the species. While governments may have been formed to established national and international laws, safety is not guaranteed. No government can control all it’s civilians. There is a thin line between peace and war, and the tension is frequently tested by human harvesting and trafficking, hunters, dangerous political moves, and the lingering presence of Angels.How long can humanity exist in this fragile state?

 HELIOCENTRIC - futuristic space colonies/odyssey #helio

Heliocentric is set in a futuristic, sci-fi world. The final frontier? Well, it’s been thousands of years that we’ve entered space. Nations have formed as space colonies centered around planets, moons, or zones. Wherever humanity goes problem arises. Conflicts are driven by rare resources like water, by wars between and within colonies, by transhuman / human+ social factors, and so much more. Heliocentric is inspired by (and includes elements) of a wide range of shows and series: Star Wars, Star Trek, Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, Waterworld, and more. It starts with a limited set of locations, factions, and ‘being’ types and expands as the plot develops.

How long you’ve been coding: i’ve dabbled in editing html since neopets, but i feel like i’ve only gotten serious about it in the past 1.5 years.

Favourite design elements: web pages maybe? “environmental storytelling” through coding & design (i’m obsessed with interactive fiction).

What you’re aiming to get out of the Skinathon: definitely trying to challenge myself to finish a skin 100%!! get a sense of community from fellow coders.

How long you’ve been coding: i’ve been skinning badly off and on since like 2014, but i started making templates like a lifetime ago. back when proboards started using it’s own version of dohtml. y’all remember that sht?? Coding style: i like dark skins with accent detail, i like bright colorful skins, i love trends that are actually useful. minimalist/dark and less traditional are my favorites lately. Favourite design elements: playfair display, poppins, calibri, old standard tt, lora, monsterrat. sticky avs/postrow stuffs are my favorite gd thing. profile apps with optional elements. just learned responsive so i have to incorporate that into everything ever! What you’re aiming to get out of the Skinathon: i have a skin for a site i’d like to create and a skin for a site i NEED to finish, but also hopefully i can apply what i learn along the way to some other unfinished projects. meet some dope people along the way. Trying anything new for the Skinathon? certainly not used to showing people my work. it usually sits unless i’m perfectly happy with it so i’m a little nervous ngl. maybe get flex down a little more! i want to say learning mobile but lol that’s not gonna happen. Just a Minor Update

So I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. Currently I'm cleaning up some of my previous skins, working to open up Dead White Rooks, and possibly working on some premade skins. Life is doing life things but I'm finding the joy and fun in designing once again and I'm on the better side of a family situation. Hopefully I'll have some new previews to share!

progress on a personal project

just sharing some snap shot progress of a current project. i'm using a coding html/css framework and testing the limits but it's also for a potential semi-private or private idea. trying to get to more coding.

I'm thinking of finishing the projects I've left dangling for a huge discount. $75 just to finish the projects, you'll get full templates, full everything, no extra price, plus help after implementation for a month, and it's a one sale only purchase.

Mostly because I need to offload these to start anew with muse and energy for new projects... but also because these scammer joes and scammer jane coders out here are tripping-tripping. Be safe ya'll. I'm hoping to offer affordable multisales and premades in the future but life is just a bit blah right now so I need to expunge some stuff I've been holding on to. Will update when I can.

I’m offering previous incomplete projects for sale… as in I’ll complete them for clients.

They’re pricy, so I get the hesitance and discomfort. 

The set price is 225$ USD (for a single sale). Just about everything is included, as though I was the one opening the site: group color schemes, html templates, posting/comms/devs/reqs templates(10-20)*, graphic assistance, official templates for claims/announcements, webpage template, your preference of shipper app/profile app/app, installation, 30 day consultation/support after sale. There are also additional options or features that can be requested with no added fee within a reasonable time after the first payment (half). It depends on the skin because they’re all in different stages of complete. The work will be resumed once the skin has been claimed with a half payment.

Note #1: I will be working on multi-sale and unlimited premades ‘closer to the market price range’. The main reason for this is  I’m not willing to restructure personal projects or under-price my efforts and I have 0 interest in selling piecemeals & packages on my personal work. As you can tell I take the ‘all features or nothing’ route most of the time. I’ll work to make more simple skins for diversity in this area.

While I work to complete regular premade and multi-sale projects, all my personal projects will just remain shelved. This post is just me stating: ‘if you’re interested in these, purchase is available, but in the meantime, look out for new premades).

Note #2: * RE: templates… this depends on the skin and features. On SOME skins, I’ve been experimenting with templates using bbcode where one ‘template’ can be the base so you have a dark & light version with no image and a dark & light version with images. (see beasts).

Note #3: I  placed a lot of effort into the style, lore and intent of 3 other skins: #helio, #memento, and #dwr, that I’m still trying to decide one way or another what to do with it. I *think* there’s a chance I might make these sites but life is chaotic. I’ve been considering selling them as limited multi-sales. These three in specific haven’t been decided upon yet.

Note #4: Finally, I likely won’t add updates to any of the previous personal skins unless I fiddle with them on my own and fully complete them. Everything posted after this will be regarding upcoming premades.

Old throwback template for HELIO. This is an Information Guide on Space Sub-Colonies for each space colony. This is a full video of the scroll down. I have a different format for site content but this site is impossible to finish and these are sub-colony ‘tour guides’. I can’t remember where the inspo graphic is from. Someone mentioned in the Jcink Community Corner discord if you can replace the postlinks but keep a link for the topic. I took a stab at it and this is where I’ve landed RE: removing the track this topic / email / print/ etc and replacing it with a link. You can probably place the html elsewhere? One option is to place it in postlinks and simply use .postlinksbar strong {display: none;} since all the track/email/print links are within the strong tag. Etc Etc. Just a random fun activity tbh.

Info re: inserting html (afterbegin, afterend, beforebegin, beforeend). I’ve tested this on different sites and due to some css ‘issues’, I’ve had to use afterbegin on one and before end on another. Just fiddle.

OCCULTUS • week one (header, sidebar, stats)

Simple Southern Gothic inspired. Graphics pending. The ‘header’ isn’t totally set but it will be nearly as simple tbh. The side bar navigations are sliding modals. I also got distracted and decided to add custom qucklinks and a click-to-copy & paste template feature. The shipper reply code takes from user variables so the template automatically takes in your character’s name, shipper url, and group.  I might fiddle with the stats area at a later point to further simplify. Idk yet.

OCCULTUS • So.... I failed the skinathon. Super busy... :/

I’m currently going through a hectic, laggy patch but I’m slowly chipping away at some incomplete projects. This was for the Jcink Skinathon #failure.

Occultus is a simple Southern Gothic inspired skin. This update is for the post-rows/mini-profile, main profile (pop/slide-in), and the pop-up alerts. I included the slide in modules to show that the Navigation / Menu Modules and the Pop-out Main Profile basically fit as a theme or aesthetic.

I’m messing around with a few fun ideas for a multi-character shipper.

I'm creeping out of the abyss slowly. I'm currently enduring some drastric professional and personal changes, but I will post some updates soon.

Looking forward to sharing some fun breakthroughs with variables and templates. I've 'perfected' my framework for templates (posting, comms, dev, reqs) and working with light/dark schemes, and flex.
