so on the topic of shipping with canon characters. I will make it known that with Minthara's canonical attitude toward casual sex, and the fact her serious romantic aspects do not start until Act 3. I will not be closing my shipping habits to one duplicate of that canon muse. (With the exception of Karlach on @infernaliscor - NOW! Does this mean that it is impossible to reach this level? No. But. It will have to be earned as do all things. I have a LOT in development with her, trust me if we ever get to that level things must might change pertaining to said character.)

Does this mean that each duplicate will get the same things? No. I pride myself in being able to differentiate things between all. However I do feel that every person brings something to their muse and it is meant to be cherished.

Pros of a muse with a casual sex attitude, with a romance that doesn't turn serious until Act 3. if you see me having shippy stuff with another of that muse. Don't be put off. Nor does it mean I am any less interested in what you might have to offer.

i finished drawing the king+queen pair for my ocverse but i figure im not going to post them just yet, bc i also wanna revamp some older designs from andy's group, and i think if i post them all at once as a set i can have all their infoboxes in one place so its more convenient (since andy's group doesn't have those in their og post)

#so itll be a royals set. w andy and her parents. and also her friends lol #neither koe or percy are royal themselves but theyre heavily sworn to the family so they still fit in #i used the same background color for the knights as for the royals to show affiliation anyway #i might also group ursa w them even tho i already posted her w an infobox and dont have any redesign in mind #just so shes w a set #this is convenient for me also bc i can have a masterpost linking every post w each different group #probably the only ones ill leave totally solo are eris and the two upcoming ones #also the only set w uncoordinated colors from these is the last one i posted w parents. bc they dont have the same affiliation #these ppl dont know each other theyre just connected to their kid so that was the background color for each #anyway this is all just me thinking out loud at this point i doubt anyones reading this far #i could say anything and you guys would never know...........#*farts*#how hilarious would it be if this was the method i used to announce to everyone that [redacted]#and it was just buried in tags no one would read so no one would ever know even though i said it #< nothing bad btw. but no ones reading this anyway so clarifying is moot point lol

PSA: ON AFFILIATES

I’ve seen a fair amount of confusion in the roleplay scene on what affiliates are meant to be and how they differ from mains and exclusives, with many people thinking they’re just a fancier version of either that you put on your pinned post. This is actually not the case, and seeing as I was among the first to use the term as far as I’m aware, I will try and explain the difference and why I felt the need for new terminology in the first place.

The key difference between affiliates and either of the other two terms is that affiliating your portrayal to someone else’s goes beyond the dynamic between your muses. This is not to discredit mains or exclusives, but these terms are about the muse your partner writes being the main or exclusive version of the character for you. On the other hand, affiliates are about your portrayals being interwoven to an extent where you share worldbuilding, canon divergences, NPCs and other aspects of writing that don’t involve either of your characters directly.

Lastly, I want to add that while being affiliated of course means you’re also mains with the portrayal of that muse, it does not necessarily mean exclusivity. I have portrayals I am affiliated with that I am also exclusive to, while in other cases our lore is interwoven yet I’m still open to interacting with duplicates. It depends on personal preference, really.
