But if someone else makes fun of you or your height in any way, he turns on them immedietely and tells them off (usually with a demeaning joke or sarcastic comment)

Again, another brutally honest person, but he admires your honesty with him as well, so as long as you tell him the truth, he will always be honest with you.

You two bicker quite a bit, but usually it's not about anything important and there is never any love-loss between you.

Han comes off as a pretty "distant" guy, but one way he shows love is by giving you random trinkets and gifts when he's been gone, or after you'd have a rough time. The trinkets always have some form of use, and underlying meaning that he knows you understand.

Well, regarding that idea, I wrote more on what I think rather than a scenario...? Because there is so much going on behind it, I felt like I'd have to explain myself! Hahahaha

Without further ado... Dante and Vergil with an s/o taller than them

Upon first meeting their s/o, I think both Spardas wouldn’t have reactions regarding their height – kinda for different but equal reasons.

Dante wouldn’t say anything and treat them normally simply because it’s Dante. He was mistreated his whole life and decided to live away from society because he has something that makes him different – his demonic half. Given that, I think Dante would be extremely accepting to different people and their ways, even if they were considered “weird” by society’s standards.

I mean, look at the Devil May Cry and the crew. They are all weirdos – Dante is like a home to people who can’t fit in. Therefore, I think he would treat another person taller than him completely normally, not batting a single eye. If they are a hunter like him, Dante would most probably talk about their abilities rather than their height. If they start out as enemies, than yeah, he’d probably make a pun or two regarding their height (picture Dante teasing the hell out of Lady Dimitrescu and making almost sexual puns, in his playful manner, and her answering in the same wavelength – they’d be that sort of “friendly enemies” and it would be the fight of a lifetime. I’d pay to see that).

But you know… His s/o wouldn’t be safe after the curse of intimacy with Dante.

Now for Vergil, I think he wouldn’t say anything regarding the person’s height upon first meeting because Vergil kinda doesn’t care about anything but power – but not that “I need more power” crazed Vergil, so let me elaborate.

Again, Vergil grew up surviving on his own as a demonic outcast. He tried so hard to get rid of his humanity – so he definitely met all kinds of demons and people along the way. And I do mean all kinds. Therefore, I think Vergil is almost on the same wavelength as Dante regarding not caring about people’s backgrounds or differences – but differently than Dante, it isn’t because he is that kind of “if you don’t fit in, be welcome ‘cause there’s no judgement here” sort of person, he’s more like a “I don’t care how the hell you look like or how you present yourself, I care about how powerful you are” in a… Self-defense sort of manner.

You know those people who carefully watch everyone and silently make their acquaintance – in his case, all while gripping the hilt of the Yamato? I think that’s how Vergil reacts to people in general. He doesn’t trust anyone and he will assess how powerful they are to see if they deserve his respect or if he doesn’t have to worry about being suddenly attacked. So, upon meeting a taller s/o, I think he’d be more worried about seeing what their intentions really are than actually minding about such “frivolities” like height. And that goes for friendly or not encounters – differently from Dante, I don’t think he’d banter regarding their height, only regarding their power.

Ok, now… What about established relationships?

Dante would be such a goof. Probably teasing his s/o all the time – but not in a manner to make them feel self-conscious about their height. It’d be more in the lines of “Bet a tall glass of water like yourself can put a demon like me down, wanna test, babe?” or something cheesy like that. He’d be all about those bad pickup lines that would sound so great just because it’s him. Imagine like:

“Wow, is it just me or powerful, beautiful deities are falling from the sky already? ‘Cause ya know, someone wonderful like yourself just can’t be from this Earth.”

“Oh my, you’re awful.”

“It’s my humble human nature, my lovely deity.” Proceeds to bow humbly while his s/o rolls their eyes and laughs at the same time because he is such a certified GOOF.

Also, do expect a lot of worship and Dante jokingly treating them like a deity because “you’re so tall, beautiful and mighty”. He’d most certainly carry this to the bedroom – power plays and worship would definitely ensue… Because you know, he is big, tall and mighty™ all the time, but he’d gladly give it up while around his s/o. I guess it’d be his way to relax from work and from everything he carries from life, you know?

Vergil, I think, would be… Normal. I mean, like I said before, I think he’s more the kind to mind about power than looks – he does have his standards, but I don’t think someone taller would put him off or matter much to him. On this subject, I think Vergil is more used to physically different creatures than Dante – because, well, I think he has more of an experience of living alongside demons instead of just killing them, like his twin brother.

So – and this is a personal opinion – being used to different creatures ever since he started to survive all by himself, and not having much of a normal childhood, Vergil certainly was bound to be used to the more human like ones who are actually taller or much taller than him. For instance, succubus or the likes – beautiful, demonic women who are taller or the same height as the son of Sparda.

I think, again personal opinion, he doesn’t have much of that human notion of “oh, this is so different because it’s so rare to find people like this” – for all demons and humans he encountered in his life were so drastically different from each other and what really matters is what they are thinking and feeling, not how they look like.

That being said, I don’t think Vergil would care much about that. He would love his s/o deeply and care for them, praising their beauty, intellect and – if they fight as well – power. I do think, though, in more intimate settings, Vergil might bring it up, if they have A LOT of trust and intimacy built over time.

Such like, in a very unexpected manner, after bantering a little with their s/o about the most mundane thing, he’d say something like “Well, well, look at who’s thinking height means power” with a slightly fun smile hidden on his lips, clearly as a little joke between them. All in all, he’d only do this as a way to make them laugh or smile, as a little something to amuse them.

Like Dante, I don’t think Vergil is immune to power plays – unlike his brother, though, I think it would take a VERY LONG trust building time to get to that – but I bet Vergil would secretly feel a sort of relief upon giving up the tall, stoic and powerful™ demeanor for a very few moments.

Regarding being protective, I think both are in the same wavelength: they’re protective towards everyone. Period. If they are tall, small, human, half-human, powerful, weak, whatever… Dante and Vergil will protect their s/o fiercely. It doesn’t matter.

Even if their s/o goes like “You know, those guys are half my height, I can take them with one arm strapped behind my back”, Dante would say like “Well, but I’m half demon, I’m stronger than you, babe. Why don’t you sit this one through, huh? I got this.” And Vergil would just go “Don’t you dare move.” And judgement cut everything and everyone around them before they could even say something else.

Phew! That was a long one, right? Hahahahaha I’m so sorry I didn’t really write something and just wrote a lot about what I think, but I felt like it would be interesting sharing this!

I do think for similar and un-similar reasons, they are both very chill people regarding physical appearance/personal tastes of others, precisely because they are outcasts themselves. I thought it would be nice elaborating on that thought rather than writing a situation without explaining ^^

Tsukishima Kei:

As children you guys were inseperable, your houses literally being on the other side of the street. The age difference between you never mattered when you guys were playing around.

You were as old as his brother and therefore you often came over to meet with hum, but Tsukki would always end up joining, especially after his brother started playing volleyball, you would always join in with Tsukishima.

Everything was great for a while, you would come over practically every day or they would visit you and then you would spend the rest of the day chilling and playing, until you and Akiteru got into Middle School and puberty hit you. Due to your age you were always a bit taller than Kei, but you grew even more.

Kei always had a crush on you, you being the only girl he only ever hung out with. You always talked to him about Dinosaurs or volleyball or music and he thought - since you shared most of his interests - why not propose? It made sense to 8 year old Kei. “Y/N... Would you marry me?”

You started to laugh and poor Kei got very confused. He was being serious about this. You saw his kinda shattered expression and froze, looking at him with a grin. You pet his head and said: “If you ever grow taller than me, then yes.”

And so the years passed, and gradually you spent less time with the Tsukishimas. You found a bunch of new friends in school that you regularly hung out with, and even though you still saw Akiteru in school and talked to him, walked home with him... You barely ever saw Kei. He seemed to grow a little more distant, he didn’t come to family gatherings anymore and rather just hung around in his room, listening to music. But frankly, you actually didn’t notice.

So eventually you graduate High School and live your life, though sometimes you still meet up with Akiteru to chat. And one day, he tells you about his younger brother. “Kei joined the volleyball club I was part of, remember? Little giant and all? Yeah, of course you do. And guess what - they actually made it to nationals! The first time since then!”

You are very surprised to hear this, though you’re glad and happy for Kei. What Akiteru suggests next though comes as a surprise to you. “I have plans for watching them as least once in Tokyo, wanna join?” And even though you haven’t seen Kei or spoken to him in quite some time, you say yes. And that’s how you end up in the Tokyo gym, swarmed by tall teenage boys and hundreds of guests. Akiteru drags you along with him through the crowd of people, determined to greet his younger brother before the game. And honestly? You feel a little excited to see Kei again, to see how he’s grown since his childhood.

You finally find the boys standing in front of a huge door that clearly leads to the inside of the gym. At first you don’t even notice, but when Akiteru calls his name a very tall, blonde boy turns around, looking startled. You’re a bit shocked to look into the face of the now 16 year old boy. He’s clearly grown since then.

Kei looks at his brother for a minute before his glance wanders over to the person he’s brought along - you. Suddenly his eyes widen a bit and his heart stops for a minute. He swears his entire life was flashing in front of his eyes - well, at least the part of his life he shared with you. All the moments you guys played as kids, runned around the backyard, talked, laughed... And now you were here? So many years after this?

“Y/N what are... what are you doing here?” The words tumble out of his mouth uncontrollably and theres a slight tint of pink appearing on his cheeks. “Ya, what’s that? Is Tsukishima flustered?” One of his team members come up beside him. He has a shaved head and tries to casually rest his elbow on Kei’s shoulder, but he fails. You notice how tall he has gotten - clearly taller than you. You have to laugh but also feel you skin heat up when you remember his question and your promise from 8 years ago.

“Why are you laughing now?” Kei seems a little helpless and confused, just like back then. It almost makes you laugh even harder. Does he even remember it? You softly place your hand on his arm, looking up into his face. His eyebrows are raised, they surpassed the lines of his glasses. “Kei...” you begin, but when you see how curious his brother and his members look at you, you lower your voice. “Remember when we were children... One day you asked me a very peculiar question and I answered with a promise.”

His head shoots up immediately and you see blood flushing his cheeks and ears in a violent red. His expression seems more than shocked and for a second he even chokes on his own breath. You grin, leaving him like that. “Rock the game, yeah? I don’t want to have travelled this far just to see you fail in the first round.” Kei is still frozen in the spot, though in the game hsi brother tells you how he seems even more focused and determined than before.

You may have teased Kei right there, but from then on you began hanging out with the Tsukishimas more, visiting them as often as you could when your career didn’t take over your life. And maybe, eventually, Kei asks you out after his graduation and this time you take it seriously and don’t make another promise.

Sakusa Kiyoomi:

As children your grew up in the same neighbourhood and your parents would always take you to the same playground.

You noticed the young boy immediately - every now and then between playing in the sand he would go to his mother and she would clean his hands thoroughly with wipes and sanitizer. That got you interested very quickly. So you just walked over and sat down next to him and his mom, watching as they would repeat the same procedure over and over again, until you eventually ask: “Why are you doing this?”

And this little boy just looks up at you and starts explaining how he doesn’t like dirt and why you, too, should clean your hands like this. So you try and after you do, the boy drags you along across the yard saying how other kids don’t like playing with him because of his habits. You’re a bit taken aback by this - even though you’re older, you’re still gonna be friends with this younger boy. He’s like 6 or 7 at that time and from then on you met him on the playground almost every day. And every day, you’d go to his mom to clean your hands properly and then go play with “Omi-chan”, as you called him.

And Sakusa would honestly admire you, treasuring you as his closest friend. Even though he was younger and smaller than you, you accepted him and his habits and you still liked being around him. “Y/N... Will you marry me someday?” he bursts out one day, his big dark eyes looking up at you. And you take a second to look at his cute face - his round eyes, the curly hair, the snub nose, his soft cheeks. You grin and your hand moves from the top of his head to yours. “Maybe when you’ll grow taller than me.”

And so time went on, until you got to Middle School and then High School. You grew closer and when you were older you stopped hanging out at the playground and rather met at your houses, the only safe and clean places he trusts. You even adopt some of his habits, like cleaning your hands etc. You make it a whole ceremony to clean your rooms together before hanging out.

And even after you got into college you’d still find time for him. Calling him every now and then, watching some of his games and meeting up with him whenever you were home. And of course you notice him growing up, too. The way his hair grows a bit longer and hangs into his face, his sharper jawline, the shape of his eyes. And - his height. When he was 15 he finally surpassed your height, but you both had forgotten about your little conversation at this point.

Until your mom hosts a garden party and his family is invited, too. They make you both take a photo together and when Sakusas mom looks at it, she suddenly remembers and hands her son an older camera, a video waiting to be played on the screen. You both exchange a confused look before you press play and you see the two of you as children, thoroughly cleaning your hands, the playground in the background. Sakusa looks up at you and says “Will you marry me some day?” and that’s when Sakusa stops the video, his eyes a little widened and the tips of his ears painted in vibrant red. At first you’re a little confused, as you wanted to see what you responded to his question back then, but when you look at your friend you suddenly realize and giggle.

Sakusa thinks he’s about to sink into the ground because of embarrassement. He never thought about his feelings for you as a crush since he didn’t know better. He always thought all friends act and feel like this and over the years, as he realized he was actually in love with you, he couldn’t picture himself with someone else. You were so considerate, so accepting. Never once in your life did you think of him as weird, you never disrespected him or made fun of him. And after all, you were always the one accompanying him to events and he did the same for you. And when he looked at you now - all grown up, confident, pretty, your curious eyes scanning his face - he thought about how he was never brave enough to admit his feelings for you. Not like this. And certainly not in front of you.

“Y/N... I know this might come across as weird now, because we’ve known each other for so long, and I know you’re and adult now and I barely just graduated High School but... I want to show you that I’m not that little boy from the video anymore.” He gulps when he looks at your face, your eyes still looking at his, a slight smile on your lips.

You sigh and place your hands flatly on his jacket, over his chest. “But Omi-chan... I already now that. Although if that was your way of asking me out on a date, then take this as a yes.”

Miya Osamu:

Your mom worked as freetime volleyball coach/trainer for children and sometimes you would accompany her, wanting to see what she was doing and also seeing a chance in getting to know new friends

So you’re casually in the small gym, watching as all the younger children throw around balls, laughing and chasing each other. You’re distracted, so you don’t see the ball flying straight into your face, causing you to stumble and fall. When you look back up, there’s a boy about 5 or 6 looking into your face, a curious expression on his face rather than a worried one. “Did that hurt?” He looks back up, his face turned to someone you can’t see. “Tsumu, I told you not to punch the ball like that!” What follows is a sequence of words you don’t understand, coming from the other end of the gym. You stand up on your own and follow his gaze. You rub your eyes as you see another boy standing there, looking just like the one next to you. A little irritated you look in between them a few times, before the one next to you dryly says: “That’s my twin brother, Atsumu. I’m Osamu by the way... And I’m sorry about the ball.” He points at your face, that frankly hurt a bit, it felt hot and will probably get red in the next minutes. Osamu turns to his brother again. “It was simply because my brother can’t handle the ball well!”, he shouts and his brother sticks out his tongue for it.

And so it began and you would join your mom more often from then on, watching the twins play volleyball and develop over time. They would always come up to you and ask who did better, who improved more etc... You were older than them after all, they trusted your judgement.

You would grow particularly fond of Osamu, since he was the one who seemed to care more for you, he was nicer to you and always come up to you in between practice sessions. At first he only asked about volleyball, if you play too or why not and so on, but when you came often he’d get more interested in you. And he was barely in Primary School, you were the only girl he knew closer and you were so... mature to him. He developed a cute little childhood crush on you. “Y/N, we should marry.”, he states one day. For a moment you’re a little surprised, but you laugh and squish his cheeks. “Maybe when you grow taller than me, Samu-chan~” you tease him.

And so it would go on for a while, years even. Throughout his Primary School years he’d always come to your moms little practice sessions together with his brother and at least one time a month you would hear the same question. “Will you marry me, Y/N?” and you would always answer the same. “If you ever grow taller than me, yes.” His brother very quickly notice his brothers behaviour and tease him. Sometime later, they were already in Middle School then, it’s Atsumu who approaches you. Of course you don’t notice, since they had the same hair back then. He even styled it like his brother, so there was no difference. Atsumu thought maybe, since he was a bit flirtier, he could settle something for his beloved twin. But he gets caught mid act and Osamu is furious. Let’s say this might or might not be the final reason why they color their hair different colors.

Over the years however, even though Osamus crush on you stays, he doesn’t ask you the question anymore. During puberty he gets way too embarrassed over all his past actions towards you, especially since you were older. You literally had a boyfriend, and yet his 11 year old self still asked. His toe nails were starting to curl just when he thought about it.

He never forgets, though. But even when he does eventually grow taller than you in his first year in High School, he still doesn’t say a thing. Of course he doesn’t, you’re in college at that point and probably already made out with so many guys... His blood was boiling just thinking of it, even though he knew he was being unreasonable and childish.

On the twins 18th birthday, they throw a big party. And of course you’re invited, you’re basically their oldest friend and have followed their “career” since the beginning. Both the twins are stupid drunk in no time and you sit down with Osamu after a wild round of beer pong. He’s completely out of it, his words almost incoherent but they still make sense. You literally heave him onto the couch and sit down next to him, still laughing. For a moment it’s just the two of you, him a lot more drunk than you, the music blaring in the background, lost in your thoughts. Until Osamu speaks up, the alcohol getting the best of him.

“You know how... When we were children... Well no, when I was a child... I’d always ask you stupid questions??” he goes, one index finger raised as he explains. The alcohol in your blood and getting to your brain makes you laugh at it. He still looks at you expectantly though, like he’s waiting for your answer. So you nod. “You always asked me if we would marry one day. Like... A lot. 10 times a year or so.” He nods exaggerated. “Yessss, and you’d always, ALWAYS, say, that you’d do it when... When I get taller than you.” That’s when he pushes himself up from the couch with big effort and looks at you, a dark expression on his face. He stays like that for a while, his face neutral but his eyes determined. Until he literally falls on top of you, the alcohol making him stumble around. You giggle, and Osamu apologizes a hundred times, though he likes the feeling of your arms magically wrapping around him. It’s like a reflex of yours, you couldn’t stop yourself. “You alright?”, you ask quietly. Your faces are barely inches away from each other and he still has this certain look in his eyes, that almost makes you shiver. You always thought of Osamu as a younger brother, but ever since he got into High School and he grew taller and muscular, but also his demeanor maturing, you sometimes caught your mind wandering off... Like now. He makes a vague face before he just leans in and presses his lips to yours, capturing them in a really sloppy drunk kiss. But it’s fine, you both enjoy it. When he leans back, a smug smile traces lips. “Now I’m alright. More than that, even.”

You drunkenly make out for quite some time that night, Atsumu filming some of that in the same state as you, just so he can show his brother what he accomplished. Eventually you both pass out on the couch and when you wake up it’s a little awkward at first, until you nudge him and say that you’ll give him a chance, now that he was an adult and taller than you.

Lonnie

I don’t have much else to do and I’ve seen some mostly friendly discussion on this topic so I wanted to throw my hat into the ring. A welcome distraction from less interesting fandom debates.

Lonnie Byers. Dead beat, absent father of Jonathan and Will. It seems from the very getgo, Lonnie and Joyce’s relationship was on the rocks and yet somehow he got her pregnant. Twice.

In some ways.... Lonnie is very representative of my own family situation. Constant arguing, kids being put in the middle of the conflict. Mom raises the two kids all on her own (in my case, we had government assistance). I don’t have a volatile relationship with my dad like Will and Jonathan though. He’s never laid a hand on me, he was just... EXTREMELY absent and I have accepted that many times in his life, I’m sure he wished my brother and I didn’t exist. (people do change though, my brother and I kinda chose to keep our dad in our lives and it’s generally worked out and much better now that we’re grown so my parents don’t have to talk to one another)

But, I can tell. Lonnie is NOT like my father. Lonnie appears to have more issues than just being absent and a toxic relationship with his babies mama.

It seems to me, Lonnie is irresponsible with his money and constantly put his family’s financial health at risk. It seems like he has/had a drinking problem or possibly something more (drugs). But one of the most OBVIOUS things to me is, I think Lonnie was physically abuse to go along with the emotional kind.

There is no picture perfect definition of abuse. It manifests in various ways. Do I think Lonnie beat his family until they were black and blue with constant blood and scars? No, that pretty obviously isn’t the case.

Lonnie’s physical abuse seems to manifest as:

Pushing his family around

“Wrestling” which is actually just pinning them forcefully and pretend to be playing around

Corporal punishment. I was going to say this is a given, it was the 80′s. Even I got “whoopins”. But I know that’s probably not as common as I used to think

Physically imposing/threatening. Even if he doesn’t touch them, Lonnie was/is bigger than all of them. (Even with Will’s growth spurt, if he’s only the same height as Jonathan, Lonnie is still bigger and stronger)

Obviously, none of these are the intense stories you hear about abusive dead beat dads. You could almost say it was tame. Some would say none of these classify as physical abuse, but I think it does.

You can see it in the show.

Lonnie’s first appearance in the show is shoving Jonathan hard against the wall and then complementing his ability to finally push him off. Which means in the past, he has probably pinned Jonathan to the wall or the floor or whatever before many many times and Jonathan wasn’t strong enough to push him off. Note, Jonathan was 9 years old when Lonnie left and Will was 5.

When Joyce and Lonnie are arguing in the house, he technically doesn’t put a hand on her, but it does tower over her quite a lot. Maybe in the past that would’ve gotten to her (my mom is even shorter than Winona and she comments a lot about how much she hates how some taller people use their height to get at her. I honestly don’t think most people do it on purpose though. Lol)

Joyce uses a hammer to force Lonnie out of the house. When Hopper later comes to tell her she’s right, she’s literally prepared to use it to attack. I don’t know about you but we know Joyce and it’s not really her style to threaten non-threatening people with weapons. No matter how much she and Hopper argued in season 3, she didn’t pick up a knife to make him do what she wanted.

And then, we’ve got Will. Sadly, we never saw the two interact on screen (love me some family drama and trauma!). Will is the most timid kid you ever did see. I explained my family situation to you guys early for this very purpose, Will is trying to do what me and my brother did.

When I was younger, I was terrified of rejection from my dad. I did whatever he wanted to do to “have fun”. I watched what he watched. Went where he went. Never raised a major complaint to his face always afraid he’d disappear again or say aloud he didn’t want me. People pleaser to a fault. 

That is Will, but worse. He probably took on these traits not only because he’s afraid of rejection from his father (which has happened his entire life), but also doing or saying the wrong thing resulted in backlash from said father. Was it physical? I don’t know, I do get the feeling Will did not get nearly as physical as Jonathan and Joyce though.

Now that I’ve said all this, does this make Joyce weak? Does it make her a bad mother?

No! I don’t think so. Even if Lonnie sometimes physically abused her, it doesn’t mean she sat there and took it. Joyce is a small tiger. Despite her size, she will fight for herself and her kids and I’m 100% sure she did, which is why Lonnie “left”. (I have a headcanon that Joyce gave him an ultimatum and his punk ass couldn’t take it so he left thinking Joyce would come crawling back to him. Which maybe she did once or twice because she was desperate for financial stability)

Joyce needed Lonnie at some point for financial stability. That’s the only reason she kept him around at some point. When she didn’t need that anymore, she was done with him and the constant battles. Toxic relationship for sure for sure.

When people say Lonnie was a physical abuser, it isn’t to make the Byers seem weak willed or even to say they have to be protected. It’s an explanation as to why they are the way they are (Joyce and Jonathan are fighters, Will is a bit more timid). It doesn’t mean they laid down and took the abuse. It doesn’t mean we need to handle them like fragile sculptures.

It means the Byers are tough. If Lonnie is reintroduced, it would certainly be an antagonist force, but he would be met with suspicion and antagonism. Lonnie’s only route back into their life.... is people pleaser Will.

This is why I kinda want Lonnie back. Joyce and Jonathan are already firmly in the “screw you, I’ll fite you” camp, I want Will to be there to. The writers just need to give him the opportunity....

You weren’t harsh; just a whole ass idiot. 

For starters, Akito is not “early 20s.” At MOST she’s 20, and that’s pushing it. As someone who used to work with kids and understands children’s rate of growth and development, I can say with certainty that looking back at flashbacks with Yuki and Akito should be a good way to help determine, or at least make an educated guess regarding, Akito’s age. Children don’t deviate much in stature when they’re young in terms of gender; puberty is when you start seeing disparities in height that are a bit more dramatic. I’m five feet tall now but was often one of the taller kids in my classes until I hit about 10 (when, coincidentally, I got my first period). 

My point being that in flashbacks, Akito is barely bigger than Yuki. At the ages we saw them, children who are even a year or two older deviate immensely from each other. Again, using me as an example: I’m a year older than my brother, and stood consistently a full head taller than him until, you guessed it, we both hit puberty and he started to grow taller than me. You can look at pictures of us from childhood until even about 11/12 and I was still taller. Even in the series, in flashbacks of Kagura and Kyo as children, Kagura being two years older than Kyo, we see her noticeably taller than Kyo in those flashbacks. So if Akito was 3+ years older than Yuki, we would SEE that difference. Yet Akito doesn’t look more than a year older than Yuki, two at the absolute MOST. 

Also, while Ritsu was aged up in the recent anime, he was originally labeled 20 years old at his introduction. And he was born before Akito. Kureno noted that Ritsu was too young to remember the dream when Akito was conceived; and baby Ritsu was at least a toddler then, so likely around 18 months to two years. (Granted, that could just be Takaya drawing characters really young). EVEN if you agree with the roughly 21/22 ish age that Ritsu was all but called directly in the anime, he was old enough to walk when Akito was conceived. 

Thus why I keep saying that saying Akito is 20 is PUSHING IT. She’s likely 18ish by the start of the story, and you can be mad about that lol. 

Also, in no real life circumstance is a man in his 20s getting with a 14/15 year old ever a good thing. In no way is a man in his late twenties hooking up with someone in their late teens healthy. That’s the reason people are calling this out. Again, the fact that Takaya has a HABIT of these types of parings in her story, it makes it feel less like a one off thing and something she thinks is normal and okay. A one off thing is “eh, whatever.” The fact that THREE couples are like this is a problem. 

Calling this out lets us have a conversation about how dangerous these types of relationships are so REAL LIFE girls don’t romanticize this and go trying to recreate it. Because it’s literally setting themselves up for abuse. In a story that focuses so much about how to heal from abuse, it’s a bit disturbing that so many characters are in relationships that are cesspools for abuse. So as we’re having conversations about what lessons to take from Fruits Basket, it’s important to also look at what lessons we should just ignore. 

Again, I don’t really give two flying shits about these relationships. I ignore them because I never liked them. Uo should be a whole ass dyke. Kyoko and Katsuya always creeped me out. And Akito and Shigure as a couple are just so fucking stupid that you couldn’t make me care. When I think of Fruits Basket I think of Tohru and Kyo, Yuki and Machi, Ayame and Mine, Hatori and Mayuko, Kakeru and Komaki, etc. I think of the characters that are just so in love and it’s cute and sweet and there’s none of that nonsense. I never paid too much attention to the three with gaps because I simply don’t agree with them. 

But people are allowed to express their disdain for how Takaya tried to write these fucked up relationships as though they were sweet and harmless and “healing” when that’s just NOT how that plays out in real life. Pointing this out helps us to not romanticize it and to not normalize it. Which, as a society and culture, we absolutely shouldn’t be doing. Stories help shape culture, so if we want to call out the problematic aspects of our culture so we can change it, it does start with conversations like this. Again, be mad.

Day 3 at Japan Expo Malaysia (28th July 2019)

Today was the last day. The day that I would last see the KiREI members. Cue gonna be a cry baby and go through Post Concert Depression (look it up hahah). Since I wanted to make the most of it, I wore the KiREI T-shirt I bought the first day I met them, which is gorgeous by the way (albeit it was a stock from their concert in Bangkok), especially the back side and I really love it!

As I said in the part one in Day 2’s report, I promised Hanapii that I was gonna draw an illustration for them. But here’s the thing, I initially thought to just post it on Twitter, but then my father said, “You should show them tomorrow” and that was exactly what I did! Now, the previous night’s adrenaline rush and fatigue was no joke, I was so exhausted, and my mind was so jumbled since I was still processing what happened at AKB48’s concert and at the airport (toldya it was VERY overwhelming). Thankfully I brought my drawing tablet in this trip (I don’t know why I did, but thank God I did). I barely finished sketching until I succumbed to exhaustion and went to sleep. The next morning I literally finished breakfast within 10 minutes and went back to our room and stayed there to finish the illustration. Since their last concert started at 2, and I had like 3 hours left to finish it (I wanted to be there by 1). Thankfully I finished on time and I quickly made my way to Pavilion.

When I arrived, once again I was surprised with the lack of people waiting at the stage (outdoor by the way), and this time I didn’t care what people thought and I just stood at the front row under the blazing sun, all in black clothes, and texting to my Discord fellas (lol). So first Austin and another host went up the stage and gave a quick introduction about KiREI and apparently KiREI was made up of 3 disbanded idol groups named “Tokyo Clear’s Smile” (this is the group where Hanapii originally came from, which I found out a couple nights ago lol), “Spring Chubit” and “Astarisk”. The girls were called in and dear gosh! Today they wore yukata again, but different designs than the first day! I just really like it when J-idols wear yukatas or any form of traditional clothing. It’s even more amazing that these girls were not just dancing, but also jumping in them! You have to admire their abilities, if not, impressed, cuz here’s the thing some of their dances were pretty vigorous, and after seeing their performances 3 times now, I could tell that Chori-chan is the ‘genki’ girl as she tended to jump the highest, dance with the most energy and also the one to rile up the audience. Miayan has the best and brightest smile that would capture anyone’s hearts (which explained why she has a fan account). Meanwhile Hanapii has the best balance in terms of her dance, her movements weren’t too extreme, and the fluidity and precision made her dance moves better, hence for me she’s the best dancer among the trio.

For this performance, Mianyan noticed me the most and as I said, her smiles were SO BLINDING! I could feel myself getting overcome by it that I had to look through my camera lens instead of my own eyes lmaoooo. Since I’m heavily biased for Hanapii I tended to look at her the most, and I couldn’t help but realized that she seemed a bit down today. I guess it wasn’t surprising since 3 days straight of performing and doing meet-and-greets could tire anyone. However, when she made eye contacts, she made sure to smile as much as she could (God I love her). Meanwhile, Chori-chan climbed in my Oshimen radar because of her bright and energetic interactions with the audience, including myself, especially whenever she invited the audience to chant with her. She’s really like the Takamina in this trio (that’s what I call ‘charisma’!)

Before they started the fifth song, Chori-chan told us that it would be their last song (cue the “Eeeeehhh~” by the audience), and I started to sob and felt my heart twinge a bit. Emotions from the previous night in the airport kind of resurfaced and once again I told myself to not cry or that would make them feel bad if they noticed. Their last song was ‘Dame Otoko’ and I’d say this was my most favorite after ‘Say Yeah! Away!’ (which I kept humming and singing to when I was at the airport the night before) and ending it with this song just made it twice the impact. The performance went splendidly but there was one point again the tears just started to leak, and I had to use my camera to hide my face. Again, I was like “NO. Don’t ruin this for them!”

After they were done, they girls professed their love for being in Malaysia, wanting to come back again (OH HECK YAS, please come back again! And I will too!) Then everyone was called for the obligatory group picture, and now me being in the first row finally paid off!

After the photo session the girls needed some time to freshen up for the last greet-and-meet session. And being the excited fan I was, I waited nearby at their booth, trying not to stand out as much as I could lol. When the booth opened, I immediately lined up behind some prepared fans. This time the man who was selling the merch definitely remembered me as he was like “Welcome back!” This time I was gonna be greedy and bought two Cheki tickets for each member and a towel. He was counting the total cost and I told him “Sanbyaku ringgit (300 ringgit)” which impressed him, and he was like “Oh! Your Japanese is good!” While I was telling him that wasn’t true, he noticed the KiREI T-shirt I was wearing and smiled even more. Honestly I really wanted to shake his hand right then and there, to thank him for his great work, but we just ended up chatting a bit more hahahah.

Before I was about to join the line, Hanapii saw me and she thought I was gonna immediately take pictures with her (oh you sweet darling). But I told her that today I was going to take pictures with everyone, and that I would start from Mianyan, then Chori-chan and finally her. When I went to the line Chori-chan spotted me and immediately assumed that I was gonna take pics with Hanapii as she asked “With Hanapii, right?” I told her I was gonna take pictures with everyone this time, and she was VERY happy, as in she started hopping (ADORABLE).

So I took a picture with Mianyan first. She kept saying I was cute and ‘comel’ (Malay for ‘cute’) and she wrote that on the polaroid frame. I told her where I was from, and since she had a confused look (cuuuuuteee) so I explained the location. I also thanked her for following me on Twitter (she was the first one who followed me). For the first round she and I took a pic with the freshly bought towel hahaha (she was really impressed that I wore their T-shirt too). I was gonna take another picture with her since I bought 2 tickets for each of them but she needed to assist to take pictures for other people, so being the social awkward I was, I stood back awkwardly and ended up going back in line since I wasn’t sure if I should’ve stayed and wait for Hanapii and Chori-chan to be free so I could take pictures with them.

While I was lining up in the very long line I realized Hanapii ran past me to the end of the line to give the last guy a sign that says ‘the end of line’ ah so adorable, at the same time I guiltily thought “Ah crap, I bought 6 tickets which meant I basically took 4 to 5 people’s chance to interact with the girls…!” When I reached them, I made sure to use two of my Cheki tickets in one go so that I didn’t have to go back in line as I specifically said, “Two tickets”. Chori-chan was so happy when I said I was using two tickets (can she get more adorable??). The first round she and I did a heart pose and when she was signing it poor girl thought my main name was “Nagatsuki” she actually remembered me on Twitter (gasp!) and she double confirmed my name with Hanapii like “‘Nura-chan’ dakke? (Was it ‘Nura-chan’?” And Hanapii was like, “Un! Nura-chan!” LOOOL! Before taking a picture for the second round, I told her on my Twitter I post my art and showed her an illustration of them that I made. She went “Amazing!” so many times I thought she was going fangirling as she started hopping on the spot (SO KYOOT). For the second round she held me close with one hand while her other hand was patting my head (I find this a bit endearing since she and I are about the same height while the other two are taller). While waiting for the polaroid to print and while she was signing them she kept saying I was cute and all, then asked if I was travelling so I told her that I came here in order to visit the event, that I was willing to fly over. She then asked me to come and see them again in Japan and before I could even respond she pulled my pinky with hers and made a pinky promise looooooooool. I remember I was so shocked that I stuttered, “Ahhh yeah yeah I’ll definitely try”.

Since Mianyan was busy I had to take pictures with Hanapii first in order to let the line go smoothly. I don’t care how many times she has greeted me with the cutesy “Nura-chan~~~” my heart still fluttered so much! Before we could take a picture, I mentioned about the previous day’s promise that I’d draw something for them and showed my illustration to her. She was like “Eh?!?! No way!” as I told her that I finished it earlier that day. She was so shocked that she was speechless and Chori came over to us and was like “Amazing right! She even drew my red ribbon!” while pointing at my phone. They traded a couple of words together and I just stood there smiling like an idiot. So we ended up taking a picture with that illustration lol.

For the second round, Hanapii was so happy with my visits, my support and the illustration that she was thanking me so many times and she literally hugged me so closely for the picture (I’m not joking, even I was like “Is hugging okay???” and she was like “Yes its completely okay!”). I thought that I still needed to put some distance between our faces, just as precaution, but nope, Hanapii pulled me so close that our cheeks were touching each other! IM SO GLAD IM A GIRL cuz so far I’d seen when they hugged guys (I was the only girl who lined up for the meet-and-greet), they still put some distance. So yeah, I was SO HAPPY with how Hanapii treated me. I then told her that I teared up a bit during their last song since it was their last day and she was like “Eehh don’t cry~” and started patting my head. She then said, “Let’s meet again in Japan, I’ll wait for you.” I thought I’ve died enough. But this comment, THIS COMMENT. I remember I blanked out for a second or two and just nodded (I couldn’t make that promise since I needed to consider my circumstances but MAN I WANTED TO PROMISE HER SO BAD). I was very reluctant to leave and this may sound pretentious but it seemed like she didn’t want me to go either cuz when she held my hands it was firmer than the last 3 times she shook my hands. Before leaving she asked me if I was gonna attend the closing ceremony later that night. Sweetheart you know I won’t miss it for the world so I promised her that I would.

For the last handshake I told Mianyan that I cried during their last performance and she was like “Ehhh~ don’t cry~ were they happy tears?” I took a second or two to rethink my words and spewed “It was both happy and grieving tears since this is the last day” hence we both ended up laughing. I was gonna show her the illustration on my phone, she ended up commenting my Murayama Yuiri lockscreen “Ooh~ cute!” and I almost had to bite my tongue to stop myself from saying “Ah that’s another idol (who happens to be my waifu)” so I just giggled a thanks. Thankfully she was also very happy with the illustration that she took the phone from me (she also added I must post it on Twitter). She then asked me if I just started liking idols (girl if only you knew hahah) so I told her I’ve always loved idols. After taking the picture, Chori-chan told us I was good at winking (I didn’t realize I winked to be honest) so Mianyan went “Ehh seriously??” and quickly checked the polaroid frame and was like “Oh yeah!” while I was fluttering, going “oh nononono, I didn’t mean to do that”. Then she asked something I did not see coming, “Can you do it to me?” and I was like “Eh?” then she said SO CUTELY “A wink”. I laughed embarrassingly at first, but I did it anyway and she was soooo happy. I knew Mianyan is the boldest among this trio but guuurrrrllll you’re climbing on my Oshimen radar too strong! And that’s how I ended my last meet-and-greet session with KiREI members in Malaysia.

it makes him feel Manly™ when he can reach something you can’t,, and he loves it when you rely on him to do things 

when the two of you move in together, he intentionally buys taller furniture that would have you struggling to reach things on high shelves 

he underestimated how willing you were to clamber up said furniture, and could do nothing but watch in shock when he first saw you scale up a bookshelf in record time

should he really be surprised, though??? one time, he refused to bend down for a kiss and you climbed him like a tree and gave him a peck anyway

he also tends to draw you into his lap all. the. time. when he plays LOLOL bc you fit against his body so perfectly,, and he can cuddle and play games at the same time  

you make cute grumbling sounds whenever he does so, which is also a bonus

but... c’mon,, what’s more perfect than resting his chin on top of your head and having you curled up against him while he goes on raids????

one possible downside to your size is playing hide and seek with you bc you always win

like,, how is he supposed to know that you can fit in the cabinet under the kitchen sink?? or the tiny linen closet?? or the drYER???? omg mc don’t do that again,, what if i turned it on???? 

but that downside is quickly turned into a positive point when you play hide and seek with other people, and the two of you are able to hide together 

except for that time the two of you recruited the rfa to play after a meeting... the seeker found the two of you making out in an uncomfortable position under one of the small tables in the hallway the seeker was seven. he took pictures. he laughed for days.

zen tends to engulf you in hugs from behind and rest his chin on the top of your head simply because he can 

he loves how you feel in his arms?? like a tiny little perfect package that was made for him 

will most definitely do this regardless of where you are and what you’re doing-- if he wants to cuddle his jagiya, that’s what he’s going to do

another bonus when it comes to height is when you wear one of his shirts... and only his shirt

all he can do is stare at the sleeves that are far too long for you, at the hem that brushes over mid-thigh length, at the neckline that rests much lower on your chest than it does on his...

and heck,, you know what it does to him-- you do this on purpose

let’s just say you’ve had to sew back on a lot of buttons onto his shirts and you’ve lost more buttons than you can count; they also appear in the most random places like... how did the two of you even manage to get a button stuck under one of the stove burners??

this boi will absolutely kabedon you when given the opportunity (i.e. pin to you the wall and stare at you for an uncomfortably. long. period. of. time.), so you’ve taken to doing weird things to get him to leave you alone

this includes but is not limited to: tickling him, licking his chin (sadly, that’s all you can reach up to), tugging on his ponytail (surprisingly effective), and pushing him away (warning: do not attempt this one, he’ll take it as a sign of aggression and will retaliate)

he’ll more or less carry you in a bridal hold... everywhere 

you want to be carried? cool, just ask and he’ll have you in his arms instantly !! you don’t want to be carried? cool, don’t ask and he’ll have you in his arms instantly !! and his height just makes it impossible for you to refuse so all you can do is beat against his chest weakly in a futile attempt to escape 

it usually doesn’t work 

c’mon he just wants to pamper you while also staking claim over what’s his, but you don’t have to worry about that bit,, why won’t you let him?? 

Jumin:

he acts like your height different doesn’t matter to him --so what? who cares if the top of your head just barely meets his chin??-- but really,, it’s got him w e a k 

honestly,, this man loves cuddling in bed with you bc you’re so small and cute and he just feels such a strong need to Protect™ you 

“jumin, darling,, i can’t breathe” you’d usually mumble into his shoulder bc hey, he’s got his arms and legs wrapped around you tightly in a stranglehold

worries a lot when the two of you are walking in public because, despite your short stature, you walk really fast honey, i have tall friends who refuse to slow down for me,, if i can walk this fast so can you and he strUGGLES TO KEEP UP

 is so, so afraid of losing you in a crowd because something could happen,, 

lowkey considered bugging you or using a leash or something for a little while but uh, he wouldn’t,,, actually do it,, y’know?

can you say short jokes?? 

ya boi will tell jokes at your expense at any point of the day bc honestly, you have the cUTEST REACTION and he just can’t resist

however, there was this one time zen made a short joke and,, well...

“you should really stop making fun of short people... the jokes go right over their heads”

but seriously,, he’s the only one who’s allowed to make short jokes about you,,, ok?? everyone else can b a c k o f f thanks

he also tends to piggyback you around everywhere ?? it takes little effort on his end,, but yields g r e a t results

he loves carrying you on his back mainly because you’ve fallen asleep on him before and it makes him a little emotional you feel safe enough with him to fall asleep while he’s carrying you?? he’s not tearing up at all

however, there were also a few times he threw you over his shoulder and carried you around like luggage he only really does that when he gets jealous and/or wants your attention 

will 10/10 hold things out of your reach just to make your life a little more difficult, like your car keys

this is more or less a post for my own reference bc i tend to forget things rlly easily... and i really don’t want to forget this weekend!! sorry if this is unreadable.. like i said, it’s mainly for my own reference ghfjdksn

friday convention: pretty uneventful seeing as it’s only the first day... me n my friend lined up to try for the w1 hitouch but we were told to come back at 2pm. we had heize’s audience engagement to go to at that time, so we just ended up buying w1 banners and nametags anyways bc tbh.. we didn’t have a chance at winning LOL.. (i heard fansites bought all the merch tho? so at least we got our stuff before that madness). a lot of people were selling their heize passes, so the rest of our party bought them to go in and honestly.. it’s a loss for the people who sold them !! heize is one of the sweetest n down to earth people i’ve ever met/seen... someone in the hi-touch area got her an olaf backpack and she was so excited!! she also said she really liked the vibe of la and that more people showed up than she expected (which broke my heart HJKDS). she also describes herself as a “srapper/ringer” bc she says she likes both singing and rapping... im gna fast forward to the cosmic girls audience engagement which was.. life changing tbh.. they’re all so pretty and cute irl, but bona couldn’t make it for some reason :( yeonjung sang miracle + secret, dawon did eunseo’s “hing~”, and meiqi did luda’s “mollah-ah”. they were also asked who they wanted to switch bodies with and from what i can remember, dayoung wanted to switch bodies with dawon (bc in her words, dawon is “hot, tall, and sexy” HJFSHLJ), and luda wanted to switch bodies with seola (bc she’s really pretty.. and i agree!! all of them are!!!) cheng xiao is my bias but unfortunately she didn’t say much..... also every idol whose never been to la wants in n out but i don’t blame them, it’s good!! i didn’t have that great of a view either bc the people in front of me were already tall + they were against the barrier which adds another inch or so to their height.. but overall it was a cute n fun audience engagement!! we went home afterwards bc there was nothing else left to do..

saturday convention: we went early bc my friend had sf9′s audience engagement so while we waited for her to finish that, me n the rest of the party just went around the convention hall and got free stuff :’)) when she came back, we went to juncurryahn’s meet and greet. he’s rly nice and talented, but i don’t watch his videos so i didn’t know what was going on majority of the time... afterwards we were going to get food and i was going to line up for seventeen’s audience engagement, but on the way out i saw people already lining up outside? when i asked what was going on, a guard told me to wait in the indoor waiting area but when i went there, vixx’s audience engagement hadn’t gone in yet. i asked the woman scanning bracelets but she told me to go outside. when i told her the situation, she then said i could stay inside. thirty minutes later, more people came in and started complaining so she told us all to.. go back outside lmfao... when i headed back outside the guard said the waiting area was full, so i’d just have to sit around until they started letting people line up again... i did meet a few more carats in line tho so i guess? it’s fine.. i also got a mingyu fan from one of his fansites, like u! it was super hectic inside bc a lot of people were crowding me and i was getting anxious, but the carats i met in line were nice enough to check up on me every few minutes to make sure i was okay... and seeing seventeen..... made my heart stop.... i couldn’t get a good view bc 1) im short and 2) people brought posters and constantly held them up whenever their biases talked.. it was a good experience but the only thing that bothered me was people screaming whenever a member tried to talk... i’d hate to be biased but seeing dino in the same room as me was the most memorable.. like he actually glows irl and he’s so handsome and pictures don’t do him justice!!!!!!! also junhui? ethereal. he can’t exist like.. he’s too handsome. they then played a dice game where each number means they have to do a certain thing.. dino got freestyle dance (how fitting...), seungkwan and wonwoo got fav pop song (when we were young + see you again, respectively), jeonghan and joshua both got aegyo, dk got random dance (and he threw the dice inflatable into the crowd and.. mightve hit someone ? idk i only heard him apologizing!!), and mingyu got sexy dance (hgfjdkl it was funny bc he started off fine but got rlly awkward n shy). everyone and their mothers are hip hop team stans btw... after that i left to go find my friends at the mwave stage, where they were doing signed album giveaways. oh my girl was having a fansign at star square in thirty minutes and i happened to be near the barrier where they walked by... in the midst of waiting for oh my girl to come out, my friend’s number was called for an album and he got the night version of astro’s dream pt 01 signed by all members!! literally 3 minutes later oh my girl came out and??????? they’re so pretty i was FLOORED.. i could only get a good look at jiho’s face before a guard stepped in front of me tho.. but i did see all the other member’s side profiles and? i love girls. wow. once that was over, we went to go get food and line up for the concert when the friend who won the album said he didn’t listen to astro.. and he gave it to me....... i started crying

saturday concert: HJFKDSLHJFK IT WAS WILD TBH!! the pre show was really good w/ juncurryahn playing crush’s beautiful on the violin and dancing to not today.. then it was krnfx and he beatboxed a few songs.. also lydia paek joined him for bs&t which was cool!! the first mc’s for the night were scoups, joshua, and vernon and i kind of.. lost my shit HJKDSLHJFK.... i don’t rmr the exact order but i do know that sf9 was the first act and they performed fanfare, jungle game, and easy love. also when they did the whole robot acrobatics thing in jungle game? my face was like :O the whole time!!!! chani looked like a cute lil pumpkin and zuho... is spicy... after that was cosmic girls and I LOVE!!!! THOSE SPACE ANGELS!!!! SOO MUCH!!!!! they performed happy, i wish, and secret (though i really wanted them to perform miracle...) i’m not a big fan of girl’s day but they’re sooo beautiful and they performed i’ll be yours, something. and ring my bell.. i knew nothing about suju d&e but they did 3 songs! the only song i can recall the name of is oppa oppa, which is really catchy... vixx’s act was really good!! they performed shangri-la, black out, and fantasy, but i was thinking about haknyeon and ravi’s lil head twirl part the whole time ghjdfkl.... vixx had a thing called ‘pinata time’ and got photo session, and they made cute poses around the stage so fans could take pictures of them. seventeen was the last act and ................ it was life changing, truly... they performed don’t wanna cry and I STARTED CRYING BC I LOVE THOSE BOYS SO MUCH AND WORDS CAN’T DESCRIBE HOW MUCH THEY MEAN TO ME AND HOW MUCH THEY’VE DONE FOR ME.... they had a pinata time and got everyone in the venue to dance to mansae which made me tear up again... they shot signed tshirts into the crowd in reserved seating!! mingyu + jun + woozi had to share a gun and after they shot one shirt, mingyu was trying to put the other shirt in and almost broke the gun HJFKLHJSDK... jun was interacting w/ the crowd all while woozi n mingyu were trying to figure it out.. like he was just shrugging and being his cute bubbly self.. eventually a staffer had to come up and help them lmao.. they also performed boom boom and aju nice which put me in the happiest mood!! i wanted them to perform pretty u which is like.. my fav song.. but i would have started UGLY CRYING so i’m glad they didn’t... somewhere in between cosmic girls invented the song i need u and sf9 covered sorry sorry... both groups danced together for the last chorus or so for sorry sorry..... also all of svt’s units performed a song! performance team did swimming fool, vocal did habit, and hip hop did check in. but saturday’s concert was amazing and seventeen.. really did change my life..... i also hope hoshi is feeling better !!!

sunday convention: got lost on the freeway and we all started freaking out bc we thought we’d miss wanna one at the innisfree booth. fortunately we made it in time, but the booth was already packed and there were people pushing and shoving. the security was really rude and told people near the back “if you cant see anything you’re wasting your time, what are you doing with your lives??” though i get he was doing his jobs.. there’s better ways to just tell us to back up lmao... i also i stood next to a baejin fansite (cheese bae) and they gave me a banner! my friend and i got claustrophobic and left, but i’m glad i did bc the people in front of me were a good 7 inches taller than me and when wanna one showed, the pushing got so bad that kcon threatened to end the session. the rest of the party stayed and said that they were only there for 5 minutes and that they looked visibly upset (understandable bc of the whole airport incident. i don’t blame them if they hate la lmao). they did get a blurry video of baejin and daniel tho so.. they airdropped that to me. we did pretty much everything the convention hall had to offer and no workshops/panels really interested us so we just hung around the toyota booth for astro... there i got a sanha fan from a fansite, but their name isn’t on the fan so i can’t find them :(... kard was said to make an appearance at the state farm booth right next to the toyota one, so it got crowded and my friend and i left. we just sat in the entrance hall near an outlet until astro came out, and we stood near the elevator so we could see them walk out... sanha is unbelievably tall. like.... what’s he so tall for. why. also while waiting i got a taeyong banner from leetaeyongbar! we then decided to go back inside to hopefully see wanna one at star square, so we went to the area where we stood for oh my girl. luckily not a lot of people cared to stand in the back so we got right up by the barrier. i also talked to a wannable and she was rlly sweet!! i mentioned getting anxious abt crowds of people against me and she also made sure i was okay, which is nice.. also a fansite stood behind me and i told her that if i was in the way, she could just let me know.. i dont know which fansite she is but she was nice n was thankful!!! wanna one came out and i only got a good look at guanlin (who is tall, but not sanha tall) before staff stood in front of me.. after they walked by a bunch of people left so i got closer and waited for them to come out... i’m glad i stayed bc i actually saw them walk out... and jisung!!!!!!!! waved!!!!!! in our direction!!!!!!!!!!!! my heart almost burst out of my chest bc he’s so handsome irl and he’s so cute and he looked really happy... after that we left to line up for the concert

sunday concert: sunday’s crowd was a lot bigger than saturday’s, and i’m pretty sure everyone there was a got7 stan... while in line i saw papa tuan (mainly bc he was dressed as their lightstick, which was cute)!!! inside the venue, the girl sitting next to me as also an aroha so we talked abt astro while we waited for the concert to start!! the preshow was a band called iamnot (correct me if i’m wrong, i couldn’t read their logo ghjfdk) and they were really good.. i liked their act a lot!!! the night’s hosts were mark and jackson, and they did a good job hyping up the crowd (tho everyone in there was a got7 stan so.. who wouldn’t be hyped lol). when they were calling up all the artists, heize brought the olaf backpack on with her and my heart!!!!! exploded w love for my mother!!!!!! once again i don’t remember the exact order, but i do know that the first act was kard, who performed don’t recall, hola hola, and oh nana. we also sang happy birthday to somin who teared up :’)). also j.seph is super cute n shy........ heize performed don’t know you. after a small ment, a sign asked us to turn on our phone flashlights... the music for star started and heize started to cry bc of all of the lights hjgfdklhg :( she only performed two songs... oh my girl performed coloring book and closer, and yooa is sosososo pretty!!! arin is super cute too!!! also binnie doesn’t have bangs anymore and my heart almost stopped!!! my robong DIED during coloring book bc me, being the fool i am, reused batteries from my carat bong... the aroha next to me gave me her spare batteries which was so nice of her... but then her robong died during closer so i gave back the batteries bc i knew astro as her ult, n she needed those batteries more than me LOL.. when wanna one performed, the girl saw me with my banner and she asked to record for me and i’m so grateful!!! they performed energetic and burn it up, and i think me and my friend got on the screen for like 2 seconds HJKDLSHJGKL... astro did a collab with kim taewoo and they did so well!! the dance was super energetic but their voices still sounded so good!!! kim taewoo then performed and his voice was really nice.. i can’t recall the song names but i believe his last song was love rain? astro performed should’ve held on, breathless (with a transition into polaris), and baby!! sanha was soo cute during the ment :(( they also had a pinata time and made tshirts to throw to those in the pit. they also had tshirt guns and shot those to the reserved seats... also i recorded the performance for the aroha next to me in exchange for the w1 videos... nct’s stage was.. so hype.... they performed firetruck, limitless, and cherry bomb!! some of the mics weren’t working during the ment so mark leaned over to let taeil use his in-ear mic and everyone in the venue went wild... also sicheng’s self intro was “my name is winwin!!! today.. we winwin!!!!!!!!” HJFKSLHJSF HE’S SO CUTE I LOVE HIM SO MUCH I’LL FOREVER BE SICHENGSGIRL NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I CHANGE MY URL.... once again, the aroha next to me recorded nct for me and i later recorded got7 for her.. jj project performed, and they did never ever, hard carry, and?? correct me if i’m wrong but confession song?? idk.. they had a pinata time as well and a lucky fan got proposed to by three members, who i think were bambam, jaebum, and jackson. somewhere in between, wanna one came out again in navy colored school uniforms and perfomed never and nayana.. and i teared up during the latter... after the concert was over, me n the aroha airdropped each other the videos... i never got her name but she was super sweet and im glad i got to sit next to someone who didn’t consider my screaming obnoxious (she apologized for screaming during astro and got7 but.. we get each other LOL)

overall i’m so happy that i saw 6/6 of the groups i stan at my very first kcon!!! it’s rlly a memory i want to keep forever.. but i probably won’t go again in a long time (unless ofc.... wanna one or seventeen decide to come again :’))) )

Chris Pratt Criticizes my Midline

I meet Chris Pratt (CP) not at my usual bar but out on a nearby greenway because apparently he likes to run up and down hills. His idea.

Me: Well, hey. Here we are.

CP: Yeah hey! Nice to meet you.

Me: So this is not the usual start to my “3 beers and karaoke interview.”

CP: (laughs) No, no it’s not.  I do love karaoke though. Seriously. 

Me: You know, I kinda guessed that you would. Are we going to run?

CP: Yeah. Are you up for it? 

Me: (hands on hips, silently looking up and down bike path) 

CP:  Just to get the blood flowing. You know. Heart rate up. 

Me: I don’t do burpees. Just putting that out there. 

We commence to run a ways. He almost immediately begins outpacing me, and then he stops at the top of a hill and waits for me to join him. I finally arrive, breathing hard. He looks as crisp as morning lettuce.

CP: Not so bad right? (laughs)

Me: Let’s get a beer. 

We walk, don’t run, back to the bar. We take up in my usual table near the back corner, at the edge of the bar, and I wave at Eddie the Bartender. 

Me: What’ll you have?

CP: Uh, they don’t have-- (mutters)

Me: I’m sorry, what was that?

CP: (mutters again)

Me: Michelob Ultra? Really? 

CP: (slightly sheepish)

Me: Okay. No, it’s fine. Michelob Ultra. OK.

I return with the bottles of Michelob Ultra and a glass.

Me: Do you want a glass?

CP: Uh, no, I’m good. Do you drink Mic Ultra out of a glass?

Me: I like to drink beer out of a glass. You like Michelob Ultra. I think we’re evenly matched here. Okay. Cheers.

CP: Cheers!

Me: So.

CP: So. 

Awkward silence.

Me: Stand up! We stand back to back and determine we are, in fact, almost the same height. We would need an objective bystander to tell us who is taller and we lack that. Me: So what’s the deal with Chris Hemsworth?

CP: What do you mean? Like, what’s he like to work with?

Me: No, I mean what’s his fucking deal? 

CP: (stares at me blankly, a worried look creeping on to his face)

Me: Did you know he doesn’t want to be interviewed by me? He refuses.

CP: Well, he can’t do everything. He’s a successful guy, busy and all. I’m not even sure why I’m here doing this interview. Is this an interview?

Me: Well, yeah. It is. And I make all of it up, so that’s why you agreed to it. I just pulled some strings and made it happen.

CP: Sooo- this isn’t really happening?

Me: Look, just don’t worry about it. You wanna know why I think Chris Hemsworth won’t be interviewed by me?

CP: Sure.

Me: He think’s I’m taller than he is and he can’t handle it.

CP: Really?? Where do you get that from? I don’t think so. Chris is a really nice guy. He’s probably just too busy. 

Me: He’s not even really that tall. IMDb says he’s 6′2″ and 3/4.

CP: Well-- Me: SIX TWO AND THREE FUCKING QUARTERS That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.

CP: (has no response)

Me: What do you do besides drink Michelob Ultra and run up and down hills and play in movies?

CP: (taking a long drink of beer) Well--

Me: Were you planning to sing something else? What even would that be? Like, slam poetry or something? No, yeah, karaoke. 

CP: Okay, okay, yeah I don’t know. Are you going to sing?

Me: I know we just met but one thing you should know about me is that I fucking love karaoke and yes, of course I will be singing. You’re lucky I’m not singing now! Actually, you’re unlucky, because I love karaoke and I have been told on at least one occasion that I really bring a lot to my performance. 

CP: Wow. Okay. Good to know.

Me: Let me ask you a question.

CP: Sure--

Me: How do you feel about karaoke duets?

CP: uh--

CP: ... uh... for? I guess?

Me: Sweet. I’ll put us down for one. Hang on. I’ll go get paper and pens. And a book. And more beers. Sit tight.

I return with a 3-ring binder of karaoke songs listed by title, several slips of paper, two pens, two Michelob Ultras, two shots and two lime slices. 

Me: I asked the bartender what was the lowest calorie shot for my fit-bit friend and he said vodka or tequila so I got tequila.

CP: oh. Yeah but tequila has carbs. 

Me: Seriously? Well damn. Does vodka?

CP: Nope. 

Me: Goddamn. Well. Will you drink it anyway because you don’t want me drinking both of these. Plus you just ran up a hill, surely that counts for something?

CP: No, it’s okay. It’s okay. I’m just used to paying close attention.

Me: Yeah, you really buffed up, huh? You want a lime slice? Does that have carbs? CP: Sure. Fuck it.

CP: Salud!

We drink our tequila like total pros. 

Me: But seriously, how did you get so buff?

CP: (laughs) It was seriously hard. Lots of training, lots of eating the right things. I had a really great trainer, so that helped.

CP: Yeah. No french fries. Unfortunately. How about you?
