Akashi moves from the big city to a small coastal town where he meets & is befriended by a local boy, Furihata. Together, they experience a memorable summer filled with beach outings, bike ridings, festivals & fireworks. However, a dark secret about Akashi's past & true identity threatens to destroy their friendship.

The fact that you said "a dark secret about Akashi’s past & true identity" makes me think this is leaning towards the classic Akashi Masaomi's A+ parenting tag, like, maybe Akashi ran away from home and abandoned his name because of the reins that Masaomi had him in. I'm picturing this to be 3rd year of high school or even just a few years after graduation and Masaomi is writing Akashi's future- you'll go to this college, major in this degree, marry this woman, and I'll hear no ifs ands or buts about this- and Akashi feeling the noose tighten runs away from everything he has never wanted to a small costal town similar to a town his family used to vacation to before his mother died.

I'm also like 100% certain he would use a different name, perhaps something like Kuroko Seishiro (because his friends from middle school were more a family to him than his father and because I'm a sucker for Furihata calling him Sei) to avoid detection A) from the people Masaomi would hire to find him and B) from locals who may see the news that one of the top heirs in the country has disappeared and wow you say your name is Akashi Seijuurou? That's funny. There's an heir who disappeared who has that exact same name-

I also imagine that Akashi took some cash with him before leaving, enough to rent a small apartment in the town and keep him afloat while looking for jobs. And when you have a fake name with no credibility behind it, that's pretty hard.

Taking a break from this crushing string of failures, Akashi sits on the beach one evening, enjoying the sea breeze and falls asleep. He wakes up to a frantic voice and half of his body entirely wet, the sun has set and the evening tide has risen dragging half of his possessions out into the waves. This stranger, who looks familiar and at second glance Akashi recognizes him as someone he has seen a few times before around the town, helps him collect his possessions not without some gentle ribbing "You must sleep like a log if the water didn't wake you up" and with every joke Akashi feels the tightness that has been in his chest this entire time loosen. It bubbles into light full bodied laughter that he hasn't felt in years. The stranger pauses, hunched over, pants curled up to his knees, arm half submerged as he was reaching for a bobbing bottle of water, and watches Akashi laugh. It's beautiful. It's infectious. The stranger smiles before laughing as well.

That is how I imagine Akashi and Furihata meeting.

I think it would be cool if Akashi brought up his struggle to find a job with Furihata, and Furihata asked what his skills were, which brings up shogi and his childhood dream of being a professional shogi player. And low and behold, there happens to be an open competition in the town over the next week.

Hence begins the fruition of all Akashi’s dreams: being a professional shogi player, living a peaceful life, being part of a community, having genuine friends, and choosing who he will love.

Eventually, the private investigators find him and that is when there is no going back, not when Furihata hears them call out "Akashi Seijuurou" and his friend/maybe-something-more freezes making him think that maybe he knows nothing at all about this other boy.

I know that louis and Harry’s situation is extremely complicated and very unknown to us except for the very little we’ve seen but I’m sorry, they’re money, fame, careers whatever is just not worth all this. All the narratives, lies, and manipulation for a general public who doesn’t really care that much about and for both of them and a fandom that’s stagnant. They’re both getting older and the longer that the bs surrounding them continues, the more embarrassing it gets. Someone needs to sit down with them and tell them enough is enough and just live their lives authentically because who gives a fuck anymore (ik it’s not that simple but still)

Corisande lounges against the foot of the bed, one hand curled around the stem of a wine glass and the other around Y’shtola’s waist. The fire burning low in the hearth casts a flickering light across their entwined legs, a warm pall against the silvered moonlight pouring in through the window.

Y’shtola leans against her, waving her own glass around as she explains the various tomes she read in the Noumenon today, her gestures growing more sweeping with each sip. When she arrived at the apartment earlier, bright-eyed and eager despite the weariness, Corisande broke out a bottle of wine, cut them both slices of the vanilla tart she’d made, and settled in for her own private lecture.

Corisande hung on every word, as excited to listen to Y’shtola’s explanations as she was to share them. It was easier then to keep up with what she was saying, but a few hours and a few glasses later,  loose-limbed and warm from the wine and the fire alike, Corisande was paying more attention to her smile than the words she was speaking.

Y’shtola punctuates a statement with a flourish of her glass in Corisande’s face, and they eye the sloshing liquid with some concern. It takes slightly more concentration than usual, but she manages to pluck the glass from Y’shtola’s fingers and set it far from the plush white rug they are lying on. Y’shtola continues on, hardly seeming to notice.

“Mayhap I should request access to the restricted section once more,” she says, rapping her knuckles against her cheek. “There is undoubtedly more I could learn on the subject, given the right books. Do you suppose Montichaigne would grant me permission again?”

“We could always sneak in,” Corisande offers helpfully. When Y’shtola’s eyes widen, she adds with a shrug, “I know a guy.”

Y’shtola laughs and settles further into their embrace, tilting her head up to look at them. She looks beautiful—her cheeks rosy from the wine, the white whisps of hair that fall across her eyes made silver by the moonlight, the curve of her smile—and Corisande has to kiss her.

They pull her closer, the silk of her robe smooth under their fingers. The taste of wine lingers on her lips, sweet and inviting, and they chase after it, deepening the kiss.

“You let me go on for so long,” Y’shtola says between kisses, breathless and giggling against their lips.

“I enjoy your going on. Though,” Corisande says, her body warm and mind abuzz from more than just drink. “You may have to repeat some points.”

“I shall prepare a review for the morning.” They keep their hands on her waist, securing her as she shifts into their lap and presses her forehead to theirs. “For now…I have long believed a lesson is made better by a practical component.”
