Sell Your Haunted House:

This was a fantastic story! The actors and actresses chosen for these characters were superb. I really liked this one!

And the special effects, there is really no words to describe it, was beyond fantastic.

The premise of the story is that of a woman that is an exorcist (Jang Na-Ra) and once she clears the home or building of the ghost/s, her manager , Kang Mal-Geum, then helps the owners sell their house.

The backstory is really sad and the exorcist does not socialise, she seems to have no empathy and appears cold on the outside, but she does care. She wants the ghosts to be free, to be able to go to the beyond and be happy.

A con artist, Jung Yong-Hwa, that happens to be an extremely special medium (the person that the ghost possesses during the exorcism) comes along and he and the exorcist began to work together.

There are fabulous and plenty of exorcisms and I still can’t find the words to say how superb the special effects were in this series.

I would have loved a little more romance between the two main characters but it does end in a good way that I really liked.

If you like ghost stories you will really love this series!

ooohhg you watch dramas? can you recommend me one?

whoo ok. i’ve mostly watched korean dramas just bc i haven’t found any other super interesting ones, so i hope that’s ok?*just a forewarning: i’m putting links to kissasian here, and that might cause a lot of popups for you. i use adblock so it doesn’t affect me. i’m pretty sure all of these dramas are also available on dramafever as well ^^*under the cut bc this is some long shit sorry.

My very first drama was Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (featuring baekhyun from exo!). Moon Lovers is about a girl named Go Ha-jin (played by IU!) from the modern era who manages to drown and get thrown into the Goryeo Dynasty, in the year 941. she becomes this girl from the past whose name is Hae Soo, and she meets all these princes from the ruling Wang family. and of course she falls in love with one prince but some other things happen and a whole lot changes. but anyway, it’s not a super tear jerker, but it’s very sad in some parts. there’s also a couple episodes with lashing, and torture, but it’s not too explicit. i definitely recommend it if you enjoy historical korea. (also there are a lot of beautiful people but that’s just a bonus).

Another one i would recommend is Blood. this is a drama about vampires, but mainly about doctors but also mainly about vampires… i can’t really tell which is supposed to be the main theme lol. anyway! the leading actors are actually married now! and they started dating while/after (i’m not sure when they started dating lol). honestly they’re both so gorgeous and such a cute couple. anyway, back to Blood. Park Ji-sang (Ahn Jae-hyun) is a doctor specializing in hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery in a cancer institute. He’s the vampire. Yoo Ri-ta (Gu Hye-sun) is his colleague and the niece of the hospital owner. she’s very snotty actually lol but there’s some past between her and jisang even tho they don’t know it yet. (was that a spoiler?) um anyway, it’s pretty good, i personally loved it but it’s probably not the best drama ever.

next is Legend of the Blue Sea. this is like my second favorite drama. i loved it so so much fjdakgjdg. anyway. this one is about a mermaid and a human scenario that’s kind of similar to The Little Mermaid. except that the ‘prince’ is actually a top-notch con artist lmao. a mermaid (Jeon Ji-hyeon) who is later named Shim Chung falls in love with con-artist Heo joon-jae (played by the talented, the cute, the handsome, the amazing Lee Min-ho). (can u tell i love lee min-ho?) anyway, she falls in love with him and after he goes back to seoul, she follows him and searches all around seoul for him (resulting in some frustrating “damn, so close” moments). so she’s living with him, who is a con artist, and he’s trying to keep the fact that he’s a con artist from her (which isn’t hard bc she’s a mermaid she doesn’t know what a con artist is lol) and his two con artist friends are also living with them. it’s a very manga scenario tbh. anyway, this is some good shit, it’s not too mushy for those of y’all who don’t like romance, but it has a good bit of romance in, but it also has a lot of family drama that happens later. 11/10 would watch again.

next is Cinderella and the Four Knights which also has Ahn Jae-hyun in it. this is a lot more romancey than the others i think. but it’s not too bad. so this girl hates her life due to her new step-mother and step-sister, and she’s working all the time to pay for herself and she really wants to go to college. (i think. i watched this a long time ago lol). anyway, as she’s working in a convenience store, she meets this rich boy hyun-min, who eventually hires her to accompany him to his grandfather’s nth wedding. she does, and a whole bunch of shit involving the family happens, she gets roasted by hyun-mins half?cousin and then she gets hired by the father to uhh either house keep or try to help his three grandsons. anywho, this is a toned down version of boys over flowers but it’s pretty good for a day when u wanna look at handsome men and watch some cliche family drama go down.

anyway, next is W: Two Worlds. THIS IS SOME GOOOOOD SHIT. at least to me. i’ve been told i have no taste so lol. anyway, this was super interesting. oh yeon joo is a surgeon whose father is a webcomic artist. he does this webcomic called W. the webcomic is about a guy named Kang Chul, who was framed for his parent’s and sister’s deaths. he was proven innocent, though, and ends up being the president of a company. so yeon joo one day goes over to her dad’s place and goes into the room he draws in. she sees a scene of a dying kang chul on her dad’s drawing tablet. she reads a note, and then a hand grabs her and pulls her into the world of W. she ends up on the rooftop of a hotel, where kang chul has just gotten stabbed by the murderer of his parents and sister. and that’s where the crazy shit begins. this is such and interesting show, with a really unique premise. i def recommend.

ok these next two are actually movies, and they’re gay-themed so.

Night Flight is really fckn good. but! it is also really not happy. like at all. no fluff here. this deals with the SEVERE bullying that was apparently very prevalent in korea at the time this was made (and probably still is but i’m not sure). if you don’t want to watch bullying/bullying towards gay people, please skip this one. Shin Yong-joo, Han Ki-woong and Ko Ki-taek were all close friends in middle school, but Ki-woong becomes estranged from the other two, and becomes a jjang, one of the strongest fighters in the school and starts hanging around with the school gang (the bullies). Yong-joo is hiding his sexual orientation (he’s gay) from everyone, and Ki-taek is being bullied by the school gang. like i said, this is pretty brutal in terms of bullying, and it could make you uncomfortable, but it is a good watch. it’s also directed by  Leesong Hee-Il, who is openly gay :)

The King and the Clown is set in the late 15th century during the reign of King Yeonsan. these two comedians, Jangsaeng and Gong-gil break away from their troop after Jangsaeng had enough of their manager prostituting Gong-gil (who’s feminine and super beautiful) off to rich customers. so, after they break off, they run away to seoul and form a new troop with three street performers. they come up with a skit that mocks the king and members of his court. but then they get arrested and are told they have to make the king laugh, or they die. the king and the clown was really frustrating for me, because it had one of those “is this happy?” endings, ya know? but anyway, it’s a good watch, definitely. the homosexuality isn’t the main point, and there isn’t even much of it there, but you can tell that jangaeng has a thing for gong-gil. this movie was actually based off a stage play “Yi” (which means You) that was about King Yeonsan.

honorable mention: Boys Over Flowers. it’s based off a manga called hana yori dango, which is also a japanese drama with three seasons. anyway, it’s about a poor girl who goes to a rich people school, and she gets chased after and harassed by falls in love with with the cocky handsome school idol. it’s kind of cliche now, but it’s an early 2000′s drama. it’s good tho. give it a watch.

Top Daily Reporter Choi Ji-eun = tvN's new Wednesday and Thursday drama 'Tale of the Nine Tailed' Lee Dong-wook, Jo Bo-ah, and Kim Beom give a triple charm with 'three character posters' with unrivaled colors that increase immersion.   TVN's new Wednesday and Thursday drama ' Tale of the Nine Tailed ' (director Kang Shin-hyo / screenplay Hanwoori / production Studio Dragon, How Pictures), which will be aired for the first time at 10:30 pm on Wednesday, October 7th, is about a male Gumiho who settles in the city and followed by a producer. It is a fantasy, action and romance drama. Lee Dong-wook was once a mountain god of Baekdu-daegan, but now he plays Gumi-ho Yi Yeon, who settled in the city center, Jo Bo-ah plays Nam Ji-ah, a ghost story program PD with a brave personality behind an innocent face. Kim Beom plays the role of a half-human and half-gumiho, the most dangerous existing Gumi-ho Yi Rang.   In this regard, on the 24th (today), Lee Dong-wook, Jo Bo-ah, and Kim Beom have unveiled a 'character poster' of the three people who foretold a fantasy that did not exist in a world where Gumi-ho, humans, and anti-human are mixed. First, Yi Yeon, who leaned obliquely in a space where the luxurious background stands out, made a fatal expression and said, “Tell that human. If you can catch it, catch it.” He shows off his charisma full of leisure and makes his eye-catching look.  Jo Boah, who plays Nam Jiah's sharp expression through her hair fluttering in the blowing wind, stares at the front with a dazzling gaze burning with a desire to compete, giving a strong atmosphere. In addition, the addition of the phrase “The 'that guy' that I want to catch madly' has appeared,” raising questions about Nam Jiah's actions, which informed him of the cruel pursuit.  Lastly, Kim Beom, who is in the role of Yi Rang, dressed up with a red suit, gives an unknown coolness with cold eyes, different from a playful expression. At the same time, the phrase “did you not want to see me?” overlaps, creating a feeling of tension.   Lee Dong-wook, who exudes coolness for every cut taken at the character poster set, raised expectations by saying that a poster with a different feeling from the existing drama would be completed while monitoring. Jo Boah, who consistently showed her coolness here, received rave reviews for her undisturbed eyes. And Kim Bum, who appeared with a bright smile, suddenly turned into a cold-filled appearance as the camera turned, and was admired pouring out around him.   The production crew said, "The 'character poster' was created with the intention to announce the beginning of a fantasy that did not exist in the world with the three character signatures of Gumi-ho Yi Yeon, the human Nam Ji-ah, and the half-human-gumiho Yi Rang are explosive. It's 1992 in Busan. Donggil is a crazy fan of Seo Taiji and he lives with his dad Gukjin, his younger brother Yeonggil who's half-black, half-Korean. A year ago, Donggil found out that Gukjin isn't his real father. And due to Gukjin's different treatment of him from Yeonggil, he decides to leave the house. But he's just 11 years old. He can't just leave his house. He decides to become Seo Taiji's apprentice and seeks a way to earn money for transportation. Then he finds out that a dance contest with $1,000 prize is going to happen and plans to participate in it with Hyungmo and his gang.

Obviously featured a few tracks by Seo TaeJi and the Boys and some other backing music which fit the drama well.  

Overall:

This drama special was a nice heart-warming tale of two brothers in early 1990 Busan.

The story is mostly told from the perspective of the older brother, 11-year-old Dong Gil who writes to his idol Seo TaeJi to take him away from his current situation. He dreams of leaving his family who he believes are not his blood relatives for big city life in Seoul.

His little brother is Korean American and it is heartbreaking to see him try to fulfill his brother’s wish to have lighter skin to fit in rather than be ignored by his brother he loves and respects. This one definitely is a bit of a tearjerker so prepare a tissue or two if you watch.

The two young actors did a great job in their roles and had good on screen chemistry. It was nice watching their relationship change and grow over the drama special.

As a 90’s kid who was definitely not this cool, I enjoyed the 90’s Busan vibe of this drama special a lot.

Some of my favourite dramas from the past half a year, ranked: 

1. Because This is my First Life 

k-drama, 16 episodes, each 1 hour long

So sensitively and personally written. I was sucked into the storytelling and felt as though I was seeing these scenes through the eyes of the characters. Bravo to the scriptwriter; as I was watching it I felt, ah, she must have drawn from some intensely personal and important place. It was not a story anyone could have written. Because This is My First Life follows the stories of three BFFs as they experience, and grapple with, love and marriage. It does not shy away from the complicated sides of these issues - the societal, monetary and financial pressures that love and marriage cannot be separated from, the difficulties of communicating with others honestly yet sensitively. There are some frustratingly incorrigible people in the drama (like sexually harassing superiors), but most of the time the conflicts play out between good people who care for and support each other, yet inevitably butt heads because they have different - and equally valid - views of life. Is it wrong to want to marry and start a family? Is it wrong not to? It was painful at times, I think I cried for some of the characters. Not because they were pitiable, but because sometimes in life there is no right or wrong; you have to make tough choices and it hurts but you have to keep your eyes open and keep watching; keep walking. For the literature lovers out there, especially those who might be sick of gratuitous (often cheesy) quotes inserted randomly into dramas, well, good for you! Characters in Because This is My First Life read and are impacted by (real life) books, and you can see how the books they’ve read influence the way they think, act, and communicate with each other. It’s very realistic and mirrors the way you might consume and digest books in your own life outside of the drama. Oh, the PPL is also wonderfully done and actually contributes to character building.  8-9/10.

2. Raise de wa Chanto Shimasu (I’ll be serious in my next life)

j-drama, 12 episodes, each 1/2 an hour long

One woman, five sex friends. I know. I know it sounds messy and melodramatic and angsty. I hesitated for the same reasons as well. But when I finally got over it and watched the damn thing (very bingeable, totalling at only 6 hours), I regretted not watching it sooner. Raise wa Chanto Shimasu is a breath of fresh air. Most of the characters, whether hypersexual or asexual, are pretty unabashed about it, and I love their self-love. Want to have sex? Go for it, gurl. Don’t want to have sex? Also no problem. The title is an apt one and showcases this message of acceptance. We might have bones to pick with our current lifestyles, but welp, we’ll just be serious in our next lives. As one of the characters said at the end, “we all became independent, working adults, I think we should be proud of ourselves”.  Much needed affirmation in a world of moralising, slut-shaming, virgin-mocking, and expectations to get married and settle down.

Warning: one of the characters in a bi/gay relationship is pretty vocal in denying his sexuality even in front of his partner, and a trans woman was harrassed at one point. These were discomfiting for me. 

3. The Fiery Priest 

k-drama, 40 episodes, each 1/2 an hour long (or 20 hour-long episodes)

Action. Comedy. Kim Nam Gil, who won the Baeksang for this role. Honey Lee. Badass babe. Ahn Chang Hwan, who was so realistic at playing a Thai immigrant my friend who studied Korean for three years didn’t even realise he was Korean. Father Han. One reviewer said he was a literal angel, and I concur. Most dramas leave you with at most three or four characters you really like; this drama makes you fall in love with the whole gang. Everyone has a backstory, or some hidden side that you didn’t expect that just adds so much more dimension when revealed. Where some might find it hard to balance the weight of action and the levity of comedy, dipping too deeply into angst or farce at times, The Fiery Priest manages the tone really well even as the plot deepens and our characters have to deal with deep-seated traumas. I have nothing more to say to promote this drama except, how could you pass on Kim Nam Gil doing action plus comedy MINUS tragedy and the moustache? 

A final note: Technically, The Fiery Priest is a stronger drama than Raise and should deserve the no. 2 spot. The former deals with bigger issues like corruption, morality and forgiveness, while the latter is more light-hearted and deals almost entirely with personal choices. However, some issues Raise touched on were really important to me and came at a time when I really needed affirmation to believe in my beliefs, so it edged out The Fiery Priest in my heart. 

4. 传闻中的陈芊芊 (The Romance of Tiger and Rose) 

c-drama, 22 episodes, each about 45 minutes long

甜。This drama is just Sweet with a capital S. What a refreshing watch, especially for women. I loved not having tugging battles between two men. I loved the respect given to consent. I loved having so many smart and capable women who have conversations with each other that do not revolve around men. I love how the male lead wasn’t hung up on Male Ego and gave his wife space to be herself and make her own decisions and mistakes. A rare gem. I’m sure I will revisit this when I’m tired of the usual ドキドキ tactics involving possession and pulling around 

(If you can read Chinese, I suggest watching it on the 腾讯视频 app with 弹幕 on. I found it pretty hilarious, meaning I laugh-cried so hard in the middle of the night my neighbour knocked on my door to ask if I was ok.)

Penguin Highway 

good watch. super cute. I cannot over-emphasise how cute the penguins were. It got me into a penguin phase and I’m not out of it even after 7 months...

わたしに××しなさい！(Watashi ni XX Shinasai/Missions of Love) movie and drama special

would pass on the movie (which cherry-picked from the manga but unfortunately left out a lot of important character developing scenes so the relationship didn’t make as much sense as it did in the manga)

but the drama special. Whew. I watched the drama special twice. It’s trashy good. Because it’s basically a spin-off to build hype for the movie, it doesn’t have to follow the plot of the manga, instead taking on the format of a (very cheesy) otome game. So you have all these ikemen saying clichéd toe-curling lines like “I am also a man you know” and getting stuck half-naked bReAthInG HeAviLy in cabinets together but instead of playing it seriously (as the movie would do because it’s supposed to make you feel like they are falling in love), the main character goes huh??? wtf are you saying?? at her otome game screen, which is so realistic and just cracks me up. definitely would rec. 

ごめんね青春！(Gomen ne Seishun/ Saving my Stupid Youth) 

hmmm. so-so? Leading lady Hikari Mitsushima is pretty, cool, and fits the bill of gap moe. Ryo Nishikido is also pretty believable (once you suspend your disbelief that somehow all his students think he looks dorky and are not gushing over his ikemen-ness). Unfortunately, relationship development between the otp happened too late and too suddenly. 

Он – драко́н (On Drakon/ He’s a Dragon/ I Am Dragon)

a pleasure to (re-)watch as always. Lovely visuals. 

Tokyo Ghoul: S

decent! Great performance from Shota Matsuda as the Gourmet. He’s definitely a draw-point for this movie - you can see him being featured heavily in the trailers. 

Strong Girl Do Bong Soon

great drama, would rec! 7-8/10. Points docked for all the digressing they did with monks and gangsters. I loved the otp’s dynamic, how healthy their relationship was. One line that struck me was, “Do you know how you’ve found the right person? When you see yourself in their eyes, you look happy”. It was a reminder that while these are obviously fictional characters, we can and should form relationships where our partners are as supportive of us (and us of them) as our dear otp, and not to settle for less. Also loved the fact that smol Bong Soon is so strong and no one can manhandle her >:-) 10/10 also to rookie actor Jang Mi Kwan, who was absolutely terrifying as the villain. How is he only a rookie??

hehe I watched it (again). As great as ever. Somehow cried more than I did the previous two times I watched it? Took me a week to get over one of the characters (even though I already went through all that heartbreak the first two times I watched this..) Sayang... Definitely has a special place in my heart. 覆面系ノイズ (Fukumenkei Noise/Anonymous Noise)

pretty good! Adapted from a manga but very film-like with its color-corrected shots, many cut-scenes to birds and crashing waves. Shison Jun was great in his intense scene, Ayami Nakajo has the most manga-looking face I’ve seen and Koseki Yuta is my bb as always hahaha he’s appeared in, like, four dramas on this list. 

博多弁の女の子はかわいいと思いませんか？(Don’t You Think Girls Who Talk in Hakata Dialect Are Cute?) 

YES!! I DO!! Wholesome drama packed to the brim with hometown (Hakata) pride). I also loved Okada Kenshi going around looking for Ramen shops hahaha. Now I want to see him host a food discovery show. 8/10. Would rec! 

帝一の國 (Teiichi no Kuni/Teiichi’s Country)

面白い 。Interesting watch! In which a bunch of high school boys in an elite school take their student council elections very seriously and attempts at political hijinks ensue. Suda Masaki and his pals somehow make over-the-top super seem natural. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s pretty good. Peppered with interesting reveals and counter-reveals along the way. 

男子高校生の日常 (Daily Lives of High School Boys)

I liked this! It delivers on what it’s supposed to. As a film, it is very film-like. The background is given a lot of weight in this film, and the director “shows, not tells”. The conversations of our characters are situated in the chatter of their schoolmates, you hear random snippets of conversations drift around, you see the school situated in the mountains, piles of decorations around the hall. This helps in conveying the “daily” nature of what happens in the film - not some life-changing adventure, but a warm high-school memory that is pretty like a paper star in a glass bottle. The boys are also very lovable and dorky in their high-school roles. 

ピーチガール (Peach Girl)

not bad. Typical shoujo manga adaptation storyline, even if the leading quartet do well in their roles. Nagano Mei was especially memorable for me out of the typical shoujo heroine roles I had previously seen her in. Inoo Kei also really looks like a boy from a manga. He has a lot of exaggerated actions, but he pulls them off really well. 

突然ですが明日結婚します (Totsuzen desu ga ashita kekkon shimasu/ It’s Sudden But Tomorrow We’re Getting Married/ Everyone’s Getting Married)

pretty decent. It’s not mind-blowing, but it’s definitely not bad. (Or you could flip it around and say it’s definitely not bad, but it’s not mind-blowing). 

ヲタクに恋は難しい  (Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku)

disappointing. I really wanted to like this film for Takahata Mitsuki and Yamazaki Kento, but there were too many useless musical scenes. 

同期の桜 (Doki no Sakura / Our Dearest Sakura)

Hmmmmmm. About colleagues who become inspired in their work and lives because of their colleague Sakura. I wanted more love but that’s not the main point of the drama so it’s not their fault. It got a bit repetitive towards the end, and I felt there wasn’t enough character development. Another drama I really wanted to like more than I did, because I was looking forward to seeing Takahata Mitsuki, Ryusei Ryo and Mackenyu work together. 

Tokyo Coin Laundry

A mishmash of lost souls meet at a coin laundry. A short drama about running away, making choices, and moving on. Katayose Ryota might have been cool in My Brother Loves Me Too Much, but this was where I first saw him and I prefer him in this. I enjoyed this a lot and even drew a postcard based on this. 7/10. 

兄に愛されすぎて困ってます (My Brother Loves Me Too Much) drama and movie

ok don’t judge; I watched this because my friend said it was pretty good. Katayose Ryota IS pretty cool in this, and Tsuchiya Tao brings to life the quintessential image of the Japanese girl, but if you’re watching this for “so cheesy it’s actually good” I would point you to the Watashi ni XX Shinasai drama special instead. If you do want to watch this though, you should watch the drama before the movie, because they are not standalone. 

Nodame Cantabile

What can I say? Classics are classics. 8/10, would rec. This is my first time seeing Ueno Juri acting, and she’s so believable as quirky Nodame I wondered if this was her actual personality. Straight out of a manga. There was potential for messy love-drama, but this drama took the high road and focused on proper character development instead. Thumbs up! They also did really well in “showing not telling” us the OTP’s relationship development. Rather than declarations of love, you can see it in the little caring gestures and almost subconscious smiles. I liked that too. Though maybe I’ll dock a point for how they treated gay expressions of love - “he’s a man you know” and icky faces - and how much casual manhandling there was against Nodame (exaggerated flying punches... maybe that’s how the manga wrote it?)

Số ca nhiễm Covid-19 mới ở Hàn Quốc từ 900 ca/ngày vào tháng 2 đã giảm xuống còn 8 ca. Dịch bệnh không hoàn toàn biến mất, mà nó dần bị đẩy lùi để nhường chỗ cho một cuộc sống ‘bình thường mới’. Người Hàn có thể tự tin nói rằng điều tồi tệ nhất đã qua rồi.

Những quán cà phê nhộn nhịp, công viên đầy người tắm nắng và cửa hàng Apple đầu tiên mở cửa trở lại bên ngoài Trung Quốc cũng đông nghẹt khách hàng. Đó là khung cảnh ở Seoul, Hàn Quốc khi người dân rời khỏi nhà sau hàng tháng trời cách ly, dù hầu hết mọi người vẫn đeo khẩu trang. Cảnh tượng nói trên càng đáng chú ý vì nó tương phản rõ rệt với nhiều đô thị lớn khắp thế giới, vẫn còn là “thành phố ma” do chính phủ hạn chế tiếp xúc xã hội để ngăn dịch Covid-19.

Hàn Quốc từng là điểm nóng bùng phát dịch nghiêm trọng thứ 2 thế giới, chỉ sau Trung Quốc. Thế nhưng chính phủ đã kiểm soát dịch hiệu quả mà không cần áp dụng những biện pháp quá cứng rắn, ví dụ như đóng cửa kinh doanh hay hạn chế di chuyển.

Hiện tại, chính phủ tiếp tục khuyến nghị người dân cẩn trọng để tránh dịch tái bùng phát, nhưng nhiều người Hàn đã ra ngoài dạo phố vào cuối tuần. Họ tin rằng điều tồi tệ nhất đã qua.

“Tôi đã lần đầu tiên ra ngoài với bạn gái sau nhiều ngày nhốt mình trong nhà” – anh Kim Ji-hoon, 28 tuổi, chia sẻ khi đang dùng bữa tại một nhà hàng đông đúc trên đường Garosu-gil, tuyến đường “xịn xò” nhất nhì Seoul. Anh Kim cho biết “vẫn chưa cảm thấy an toàn tuyệt đối” nhưng thoải mái hơn khi ra khỏi nhà vì tốc độ lây lan của virus đã chậm lại đáng kể.

Hàn Quốc đã thực hiện xét nghiệm virus corona trên quy mô rất lớn, cũng như có kế hoạch giám sát dấu vết lây bệnh. Song song đó, chính phủ vẫn cho phép cửa hàng kinh doanh và các xí nghiệp duy trì hoạt động. Biện pháp này từng gây ra không ít tranh cãi nhưng nó đạt được kết quả như mong đợi ở Hàn Quốc, khi số ca nhiễm từ 900 ca/ngày vào cuối tháng 2 đã giảm xuống còn hai chữ số, riêng ngày 18/4 chỉ ghi nhận thêm 8 ca mới mà thôi.

Hàn Quốc và Mỹ xác nhận ca nhiễm Covid-19 đầu tiên vào cùng thời điểm cuối tháng 1. Tuy nhiên đến giờ Mỹ đã có hơn 735.000 bệnh nhân trong khi xứ sở kim chi đã “làm phẳng đường cong” từ tháng trước và giữ tổng số ca nhiễm không vượt quá 11.000 người đến hiện nay. Từ ổ dịch lớn thứ 2 toàn cầu, đến nay Hàn Quốc không còn nằm trong Top 20 quốc gia có nhiều ca nhiễm Covid-19 nhất thế giới.

Cuộc sống ở Hàn Quốc cũng chuyển mình và sôi động hơn, có vẻ như người dân quyết tâm “lấy lại những gì đã mất” sau thời gian tự cách ly với rất nhiều e ngại. Hàng loạt dấu hiệu đã cho thấy Seoul dần lấy lại vẻ sầm uất năng động như trước kia, và cả Hàn Quốc đang nỗ lực vượt qua những cú sốc kinh tế.

Dọc công viên sông Hàn ở quận Banpo, nhiều bãi giữ xe đã kín chỗ khi các gia đình đi picnic, cho trẻ em trượt ván, thả diều… Ông Shin Bo-ram là một trong những người đến đây ngắm cảnh vào thứ bảy (18/4), cho biết mình đã “quá mệt mỏi” với việc bó buộc trong nhà.

“Tôi sống ngay đối diện công viên và đã phải tự kiềm chế để không đi dạo suốt thời gian dài. Và hôm nay, chúng ta đã có một ngày rất đẹp trời, số ca nhiễm cũng sụt giảm nên phải tận hưởng thôi. Tôi chắc rằng nhiều người cũng nghĩ như vậy, vì xung quanh đang khá đông đúc” – ông Shin chia sẻ.

Sự tự tin của người dân càng được tăng lên sau khi ngày bầu cử hôm thứ tư (15/4) diễn ra suôn sẻ. Mọi người đã thận trọng, không ồ ạt di chuyển và đến nay cũng chưa ghi nhận bất kỳ ca nhiễm nào liên quan đến sự kiện này.

“Chúng tôi đã ngăn chặn dịch khá hiệu quả bằng cách xác định người nhiễm và cách ly nghiêm ngặt. Có được thành quả này là nhờ kinh nghiệm trong dịch MERS năm 2015” – giáo sư Kim Yoon chuyên về chính sách y tế tại Đại học Quốc gia Seoul nhận định.

Cửa hàng Apple mở cửa trở lại và một cuộc sống “bình thường mới”

Cửa hàng Apple duy nhất ở Seoul đã mở cửa trở lại, với lời khen ngợi hết lời của gã khổng lồ công nghệ dành cho chính phủ: “Hàn Quốc đã cho thấy tiến triển tuyệt vời trong việc ngăn chặn dịch Covid-19”.

Cửa hàng Apple tại khu Gangnam là địa điểm đầu tiên bên ngoài Trung Quốc của Apple được mở cửa trở lại, kể từ khi họ phải đóng tất cả những cửa hàng vào tháng 3 để giúp ngăn chặn dịch bệnh. Giống như các nhà hàng cửa hiệu khác, Apple cũng yêu cầu khách hàng mang khẩu trang và đứng cách nhau ít nhất 2 mét, ngoài ra được đo thân nhiệt trước khi bước vào mua sắm.

Nhưng dù sao, áp lực kinh tế vẫn còn hiển hiện khi nhiều cửa hàng đã phải trả lại mặt bằng còn một số nơi khác thì kinh doanh ế ẩm.

“Đây là một vấn đề tâm lý” – Ahn, khoảng 30 tuổi, quản lý một tiệm mỹ phẩm trên đường Garosu-gil chia sẻ. Cô cho biết tiệm đã mất 10% khách hàng so với thời điểm trước dịch bệnh. “Mọi người vẫn đeo khẩu trang và tránh nói chuyện nhiều với người lạ. Vì vậy ngay cả khi chúng tôi có khách hàng thì họ cũng lựa chọn rất nhanh và rời đi”.

Cách cửa hàng Apple một tòa nhà, anh Park Choon Kweon cho biết tiệm quần áo của mình có ít khách mua sắm dù mọi người đi ngang qua rất đông. “Chúng tôi vẫn mắc kẹt trong tình cảnh ngặt nghèo do dịch virus corona” – anh Park cho biết. Hiện tại gia đình anh chỉ còn một cửa hàng này sau khi đã đóng cửa tiệm trang phục nam.

Lo ngại về “làn sóng thứ hai” bùng phát, Trung tâm Kiểm soát và Phòng ngừa Dịch bệnh (KCDC) đã khuyến nghị người dân “tiếp tục tuân thủ cách ly xã hội và các hướng dẫn vệ sinh cá nhân”.

“Chúng ta không thể từ bỏ lá chắn của mình vì nguy cơ lây nhiễm vẫn còn rất cao” – Thứ trưởng Y tế Kim Gang-lip phát biểu trên truyền hình vào sáng thứ bảy 18/4. Mặt khác, Thứ trưởng Kim khẳng định chính phủ sẽ ban hành hướng dẫn để cả nước cùng hướng đến cuộc sống “bình thường mới” – bao gồm điều chỉnh các biện pháp giãn cách xã hội.

“Hàn Quốc đã đẩy lùi thành công dịch Covid-19 nhờ vào tự cách ly xã hội. Nhưng điều đó không có nghĩa là virus đã biến mất và chúng ta có thể trở về cuộc sống như thời chưa bùng phát dịch” – Thứ trưởng Kim cho biết.

Cùng với Trung Quốc đại lục, Hàn Quốc là quốc gia bùng phát Covid-19 từ sớm nhưng đã gần như khống chế được dịch bệnh. Các biện pháp phục hồi cuộc sống và nền kinh tế của họ sẽ là ví dụ điển hình để cả thế giới cùng theo dõi và rút ra bài học kinh nghiệm.
