you had almost forgotten how dangerous moma was. 

you only knew the side of him that was kind, caring and funny. he had never yelled at you before, never raised his hand against you or made you uncomfortable in any way. you had almost forgotten that he was the leader of a yakuza gang. that he wasn't someone you'd wanna make an enemy of. 

but now you remembered. hearing the screams of the man that had harassed you, seeing all his blood. you could barely even look at it for more than a second, before turning around and immediately feeling like you were about to throw up. it wasn't a pretty sight, not at all…

Moma

He thought the idea was dumb at first when it was brought up by one of his underlings. I mean, why spend money on some girl when he can just continue to spend cash on his unrequited love that is A-Set?

But he decides to do it and he ends up meeting you. He can’t help but be more closed off and intimidating as you’re listing off boundaries and stuff. He’s definitely not honest about what he does or what he did in the past, but he gives some info.

As you talk more about yourself and Moma learns more about your interests, he opens up a lot more about himself too. It actually becomes fun to talk and get to know you.

Would unintentionally fall for you too. Probably takes you to company meetings and stuff as his “girlfriend” despite still renting you for your time. Can’t deny that he does have fun with you and makes sure that you’re having fun too! Absolutely loves spending cash on you and while he still is an A-Set fan, most of his wallet goes to you instead.

Ryuki

God Ryuki is so embarrassed that he’s doing this, but he needs someone to talk to since Date is so busy with other things and there’s no way he’s talking to Mizuki about his stuff.

Is really awkward and stiff in the beginning as you’re explaining terms and conditions as well as boundaries. He’s listening and nodding along to everything, but the boy is hardly moving besides that.

It’d be up to you to break the tension a bit and then Ryuki finds himself relaxing. While he knows you wouldn’t break confidentiality, he’s still skimping on some details of cases. But he still feels better talking to someone about it that’s not a coworker and not mama.

Ends up being so relaxed and while he knows his wallet is crying considering his demotions, he is happy to pay for your time to talk more and more. But he is also happy to get to know you as well. He can’t help but feel bad that he’s making you listen to his problems all the time, so he’s glad to listen to anything you’re going through and give any advice he thinks would be helpful.

2) ota: this goes to show how painfully awkward all these characters are because the weeb is coming SECOND on the list. i think he'd be fun to hang out with as long as you can stand the awful anime references.

4) mama: what's there not to love about mama? i mean as long as she doesnt make me work in her bar..

5) pewter: he IS insufferable with the psyching stuff and his fullbody suit but he has that old gay man thing going on so id like to know whats up with him

6) mizuki: adorable kid and i love her but i know shes brutally honest sometimes and i dont think id be able to handle it. she'll tell me im toxic

Finished AI: The Somnium Files. Maybe should’ve listened to @sibyl-of-space and my own conscience on this one, but I still had a lot of fun.

First of all, my laptop was half dying trying to play the final dance number, and I ended up watching it on Youtube instead. 0/10 for no Sejima joining in.

The ending is... fine, I guess. It’s pretty straightforward, mostly happy, and the mysteries are all resolved. At the same time, most of the best moments and significant character development in the game happen in other routes, especially Date/Mizuki in Mizuki’s route and Ota/Mayumi in Ota’s route. It’s not clear if that is supposed to carry over to the “main” route, but it doesn’t feel completely satisfying.

I feel I did a very good job guessing at the mysteries early on considering the game doesn’t let you know that body-swapping is a thing until rather late in the story (is there anyone who figured that out in advance?). That said, due to Saito hijacking like half the cast at one point or another, I think the only character I never suspected for even a second was Mizuki. (Or I guess Moma, if he counts (lmao).)

Saito’s not an interesting villain, but I don’t really have a problem with him - it just feels like I was expecting a more ambitious story than I ended up getting. My only real nitpick is that Hitomi didn’t even think for a second of asking Renju for help with Iris’s treatment, and instead went straight to blackmail. I felt that was weird enough that it had to be leading into some further reveal, but it didn’t. Welp.

In any case, AI:TSF is a really good game, with some brilliantly written scenes and conversations, just - not life-changing.
