Image of the new cockpit of the B-52 shows a cleaner layout
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 10/18/22 - 08:07 in Military
Boeing image of the probable future cockpit of the B-52H, after modifications to the radar and engine were made to the 60-year-old bomber. (Photo: Boeing)
A new image of Boeing shows that the cockpit of the B-52 will have a cleaner and simplified appearance after the bomber completes a program of some of the most substantial changes in its 60-year history.
The image is still considered fictitious, but it will probably be close to the final version of what the BUFF "front office" will be like, from the middle of this decade.
The digital image, released by Boeing to Air & Space Forces Magazine, shows a layout with many new "glass cockpit" color displays, but maintaining some of the "steam averagers" and analog style displays of the six decades of B-52H service.
Dominating the panel will be four large color multifunction displays that will present a variety of flight status information, as well as images of the new radar system of the B-52 - derived from the radar AN/APG-79 of the F/A-18 - as well as presentations of the new datalink B-52 and images of the Sniper or Litening optical/infrared direction
Monitors can also play a role in the use of the new hypersonic weapons of the B-52 - the bomber will be the initial platform for the AGM-183 Rapid Response Weapon, or ARRW - as well as its new nuclear weapon, the LRSO (Long-Range Stand-Off) missile.

The center console will also have an updated acceleration station, to control the eight new Rolls Royce F130 engines of the B-52, which will be digitally managed.
A statement from Boeing that accompanies the image said it shows "new 8 x 10 digital displays, mechanical-digital hybrid acceleration system, new (2x data hub units), new engine failure maintenance recorder, new engine air data system (and) modified system panels, as well as structural, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic updates associated with this modernization effort."
The U.S. Air Force chose to exchange the eight Pratt & Whitney TF-33 engines of the B-52 for eight new engines - instead of consolidating for four larger turbofans - for a variety of reasons, most of them having to do with the limited takeoff clearance of engines with larger diameters; the need for a more radical redesign of the engine/wing/pill interface and the Continuing with eight engines should also facilitate the transition of pilots from the B-52 to the updated aircraft.
USAF officials said they are thinking of renaming the B-52H to B-52I or B-52J after receiving new radars and engines, because the aircraft will be substantially different enough after the upgrades to ensure a new designator and maintain clearer records of maintenance and pilot hours.
Boeing is the integrator of the various updates being installed on the B-52 and will perform much of the internal reconfiguration of the control and wiring systems on the initial B-52 at its facilities in San Antonio, Texas. The subsequent work will be done at the B-52 warehouse at the Oklahoma Air Logistics Complex in Oklahoma City.

-------------------------------------
The X-Jet wasn’t made to transport so many passengers. There weren’t enough seats, so the most injured inmates were strapped in and everyone else had to hang on. Mimi carefully watched everyone. She hadn’t made it this far just to have a fellow freed prisoner do something that would make the X-Men turn them over to authorities and land them right back in prison. The last thing she wanted was going back to any holding facility. As the X-Men rushed around the jet, preparing for take off, Mimi made eye contact with as many individual freed inmates as she could, making sure they knew she was watching them.
The larger blue mutant was seeing to the more severe injuries. He was enormous, heavily muscled and had thick claws and fur, but spoke with a gentle accent. When the smaller bright blue mutant had boarded the jet, holding a barely conscious Rhonda, Mimi was surprised to find dread cracked her heart.
“Henry!” he called in a German accent, and the larger mutant turned. “She doesn’t look so good, ja?”
Henry’s eyes widened and his mouth fell open. He promised his current patient he'd come back to him and hurried to meet the German holding Rhonda. He moved a gear box to clear a spot on the deck of the jet. “Here, Kurt, lay her here.” Kurt took care to set her down in a smooth motion. "What happened?" Henry asked as he was already checking her vitals and pupils. "Pulse is weak. Pupils irregular. Is all this blood hers? Swelling at her temple." He worked quickly to examine her.
“I don’t know,” Kurt shook his head, “Colossus is still on his way.”
Mimi craned her neck, and only saw Rhonda in bits and pieces past the men’s shoulders. Her skin was bluish, head lolling, breathing shallow and labored. The easiest thing she could see, however, was the soles of her feet - they looked like raw hamburger, absolutely riddled with shards of glass. “Hey!” She called to them. “Check her feet!”
Kurt and Henry gave Mimi a sudden wary glance, then both shifted to check her feet. The smaller mutant cursed in German. “Indeed it’s not good,” Henry agreed. He tore open Rhonda’s jumpsuit, “But there must be something else. Kurt, take the other first aid kit and help the others with the bumps and scrapes, please.”
With Kurt giving him space, Henry carefully tore away pieces of the grey cotton shirt under the jumpsuit, finding plenty of swelling and bruises that were starting to blacken. He muttered about broken ribs. He suddenly paused, and Mimi couldn’t tell what he’d found.
"STORM!” he roared to the cockpit, “We need a hospital! Now!" Storm gave an affirmative over the cabin radio.
Several more inmates and the last few X-Men boarded the jet, including Wade and the tall, musclebound steel mutant. The tall brute immediately knelt by Rhonda’s side, and though Mimi couldn’t make out exactly what he was saying, the anguish in his voice was unmistakable. “That’s her husband,” she said softly to Robinson. She shook her head, “Exactly as she used to describe him.”
“Huh,” Robinson slid an arm around Mimi’s waist to support them both as the jet rumbled its take off. “To be fair, an eight-foot-tall steel Russian man does sound made up.”
The floor tilted as the aircraft banked on a new course.
--
Piotr smoothed hair away from Rhonda’s face. The swelling around her temple worried him, but not as much as how her eyes rolled and how pale her lips were. "Stay with me, Rhonda, look at me," he urged. "You are safe now, stay with us."
"Pi-Piotr," she barely managed to speak between wet wheezes.
Tears welled up in his eyes. She tried to speak again, but he shushed her, "Don't try to speak if it hurts. Let Cable help you, please." He waved Cable over, who carefully wove through the other passengers to loom over them.
With the ugly, bloodsoaked jumpsuit and the grey t-shirt under it torn open, Rhonda’s torso was bare to the warm cabin of the deck. There was no gaping wound, no horrible laceration, but just below her ribs, the last quarter inch of a toothbrush head stuck out of Rhonda's skin, the bristles slowly oozing with blood.
Beast carefully touched around it, figuring out at what angle the rest of the toothbrush pointed and how long it was. Rhonda couldn't even keep her eyes open anymore, and when she struggled to breathe and speak, she coughed and blood sprang to her lips.
"Henry, please! Pull it out!" Piotr begged with a strained voice, his stomach churning with panic.
"She's bleeding internally, probably a punctured lung,” Henry spoke quickly. “If I take that out here she'll bleed out before you can say dasvidaniya." He squirted saline solution over the wound, then moved to squirt saline on her head wound, rinsing blood away to examine the external damage.
Cable crouched by her feet and extended his telepathy. Where he had previously found a strong mind full of resistance to being read, he found no fight now. "She says, you brought me home," he read from her thoughts, "Thank you." He looked at her glass-crusted feet and scowled.
"No, no, no, Sladkaya, we're not home yet! You have to stay awake!" the Russian struggled to stay calm. He kept touching her face, shoulders, arms. Her skin felt cooler than it should.
"I can get this glass out, cleaner than your surgeons can in this time," Cable said. The other two either didn’t hear him or they ignored him. So he grabbed an empty cardboard box from between some people’s feet and leaned his weight on one forearm across Rhonda's shins. He searched for every little shard of glass and with his telekinesis, he pulled. Each shining glass splinter worked its way out as if they were seedlings in a spring garden, and ranged in size from a single snowflake to a quarter. Rhonda shivered, but didn’t react much besides that.
Blood bubbled at her lips as Piotr's vision blurred with tears. "Stay with me," he begged, "I can't lose you again, not like this."
After that, things moved in a quick blur. Hank improvised a chest tube from an inmate’s ballpoint pen, jabbing it near her collarbone and releasing the air that had been building up in Rhonda’s chest cavity. Her shallow breaths became a little deeper, but she still didn’t have long to live without tools they didn’t have on the jet. They landed on the rooftop helipad of the nearest hospital, and Cable levitated Rhonda to the gurney some nurses wheeled out. They slapped a medical grade power-blocking collar around her neck, and Piotr almost smashed them into the walls. "You take that thing off my wife!"
"Sir, sir!" One particularly short nurse patted the air between them. "This is standard procedure. Could this mutant's abilities be fatal to another person?" They had almost reached the elevator.
Piotr froze. He swallowed and clenched his jaw. "Yes...but...she cannot have that thing on when she wakes up."
The nurse promised, "She won't. Waiting area's downstairs." The elevator doors closed, and Rhonda and the nurses disappeared.
Ellie and Yukio stayed close to Piotr while the rest of the team helped coordinate help for the injured inmates. Storm made several calls to the Xavier house and started setting up a safe house and protection for any inmates who had to stay in the hospital. Kurt and Henry took the jet with a few passengers to head for the safe house.
--
In the waiting area, Cable studied how Piotr sagged into a plush chair that creaked under his weight. “Wade,” he snagged him by the arm as he was walking by. “When I was in Rhonda’s head…” he hesitated. His brow pinched. “I don’t know if she’s gonna make it through the night. If she doesn’t…” Cable jutted his chin toward Piotr, “We both know what it is to lose a wife.”
Wade frowned and shook his head. “No. No fucking way.” He batted Cable’s hand away. “A little head trauma, collapsed lung, torn shoulder, and a bunch of broken ribs never killed anybody. You know? Fuck outta here with your negativity, House.” All the same, he crossed the waiting area to sit beside Piotr.
Ellie found her way to sit beside her mentor and father figure. For a long while, none of them said a word. Eventually, Ellie drew her arms tight around one of Piotr’s biceps, crushing her cheek against the steel of his arm as the tears finally came. Yukio rubbed her back as she cried. As Piotr started to reach with his free hand to touch her face, Wade hugged his other arm the same way as Ellie. Together, they waited for the surgeons to finish.
--
Piotr stayed by her side in the intensive care unit. As promised, they had removed the medical grade collar, and Rhonda’s neck was mercifully bare. His uniform was still stained with her blood, but he couldn’t bring himself to leave her for even the minute it would take to change into the fresh clothes Ellie and Yukio had brought. Swathed in bandages, breathing through a tube, his wife had never looked so fragile. He held her right hand, pressing the back of it to his cheek as he watched her face, tears streaming. His other hand delicately touched her hair. He whispered around the lump in his throat, “Come back to me, Sladkaya, come back to us. I’m here, whenever you are ready. Please.”
When the hospital staff tried to tell Piotr visiting hours were over, and that he could come back the next day, he said simply that he wasn’t going anywhere. He explained to the seasoned nurse in her fifties a short version of what had happened in the last few years. He would stay, and promised not to make any trouble for the hospital staff. The nurse took a slow sigh and replied simply, “I’ll get you a coffee, baby, be right back.”
Hours stretched into days. Wade, Ellie, and other friends could only get Piotr to take breaks if at least two of them stayed in Rhonda’s hospital room while he changed clothes or took a short walk. Every minute that he was with her, Piotr had a hand on her. He would clasp his hands around her feet to warm up her toes, check how the deep lacerations in her feet were closing, rest a hand over her stomach or chest to feel her breathe, study the finger stump on her right hand, and slide his palm up her arm over the Xs as he had seen her do so many times.
Once, when Wade was sitting beside him, Piotr had been studying the Xs again. “Wade...what are these?” he asked.
Wade puffed out his cheeks and blew a long breath, fumbling, “Ohhhh buddy, uhh, I - you should - you know - that’s just not my story to tell, you know?” Wade gripped his knees and stretched, popping his shoulders.
Piotr traced a few of the smaller Xs, then laid his palms to cover as many as possible. “They are signatures, aren’t they?” he said quietly, voice tight. “They called her Guestbook, and put these marks all over her. The x-rays showed scar tissue in this shoulder, like it had been dislocated more than once.” Wade’s silence except for sucking in a hissing breath through his teeth was answer enough. Lifting her hand, Piotr pointed out the newest one, with a long tail that curved around her arm. It was scabbed over and a little irritated, but no longer puffy with infection. “I have been cleaning and caring for this one,” he said with a tone that was too calm. “Wade, who did this to my wife? Was it guards? Other prisoners?”
The images flashed in Wade’s mind, another horrible thing he would never forget. Rhonda on the ground, arms pinned and twisted, knees in her back, a dead look in her eyes. Weak with cancer and restrained by several people, he had been unable to help her. He blinked. “Both.”
With what could only be described as reverence, Piotr laid Rhonda’s hand back on the bed, and actually pulled his hands away to ball into fists on his thighs. His gaze was still riveted to her. “The prisoners we brought with us - was it any of them?” His voice was even, and clear, and filled with cold determination.
Wade could smell the desire for revenge like a shark smells blood in the water, and raised his hairless brows. “For what it’s worth, sexy, beefy Terminator,” he started to smile, “I’m pretty sure your lady killed about half the motherfuckers who ever touched her.”
For the first time in days, Piotr made direct eye contact, with a placid expression. Jaw tight, he asked, “And the other half?”
The seasoned mercenary was beaming. “As much as I love this color on you,” he waved an open hand in a circle. “Do I really have to remind you of your rules? One of the ones near the top - I think it’s number five, maybe nine - no killing? Anyone?”
“Perhaps you were right when you killed Francis,” he said. “Perhaps an exception can be made.”
Wade squirmed in his seat, groaning, then jumped to his feet, “Stop talking dirty to me! This hospital room is no place for a boner!” He growled in frustration, then pointed at Rhonda, “Plus…she said...we don’t know how many of them seem like fucking monsters now, but they weren’t like that until the Icebox made them that way. I - uggghhhhhh,” he grumbled incoherent cursing about turned tables and moral compasses. “I think she’d want you to leave them alone.”
The Russian’s shoulders sagged and he looked down at his hands, opening and closing his fists. “What good is all my strength,” he sighed, “if I could not prevent any of this? If I cannot protect her?”

36. total control?
well this turned out VERY long...... the rest will not be like this lol....
A great cracking groan seemed to roll through the walls themselves, somewhere a man shouted, and Kharro looked up to see the busted nose of a LAAT/i pushing through the ceiling like an enormous alien come down to watch them scurrying haplessly about as they tried to exfil, a sight so absurd that for an instant she just stared at the thing, stained glass falling in a glittering rain as sunlight streamed through the gaping hole and flooded the dim cathedral with light. Then there was a low groan of metal and the ceiling started falling too, pieces the size of fists and heads, and then the size of men crumbling away to come crashing down to the floor below. Someone screamed. The air filled with dust, choking out the sunlight. As Kharro watched, the LAAT/i tipped further into the cathedral, screaming with strain as its frame twisted under its own weight. She held her breath, peripherally aware of Arik barking orders down the comm lines, ordering the building clear. But there wasn’t time. The great Bonshyyyr-wood rafters were about to fall and when they did the whole ceiling would come down and the LAAT/i with it, and there was no way they could clear the room in time, not with the Separatists still raining fire on the building.
She caught Arik’s arm without looking at him; an instant of his attention was all she needed. Understanding crystalized in his mind and he nodded, darting away across the floor to assist as nearly seventy of her troops struggled to clear the hallowed hall. Already Kharro was slipping away, into the clean sharp-edged flow of the Force. She adjusted her stance, reaching out through the Force to seize the rafters and bracing herself against them as she would against an opponent’s blow.
Distantly she was aware of the stillness, stone and glass caught in midair, wood creaking faintly under strain. Her men became bright vortices of life and will; beyond, on the horizon the Separatist forces crouched, bloated and malignant, extending dark hunting tendrils toward them. None of it mattered. Blood rang in her montrals and buzzed in the tips of her fingers; her vision blurred and shadowed. The Force eddied around the rafters, embodied both in the pressure she exerted against them and in the entropic force of strain and damage and gravity that would send them crashing down. She couldn’t stop them from falling in the end.
But it didn’t have to be forever. Just long enough.
The LAAT/i lost its battle with gravity and balance and started to tip inward, slowly, and then in an instant it was past the point of no return. It fell noiselessly into the space, the instant stretching like rubber; suspended debris pinged off its hull.
“Kharro!” Arik’s voice pierced through the white fog of the Force and brought Kharro back to her body, staggering with the backlash as her hold on the beams broke. Suddenly he was there, seizing her by the waist and flinging them both into the cover of a toppled statue that had once stood as tall as three men. The floor reverberated as the LAAT/i struck, a crash that knocked the air out of Kharro’s lungs and sent rain of debris clattering over Arik’s armor. His fingers pressed hard into her belly, his body curling protectively around her, but she pushed up on an elbow and twisted, looking back over their shoulders to watch as the roof crumpled in like a sheet of wet flimsiplast.
A slab of stone that must have weighed near as much as the LAAT/i and was edged with the broken edge of a stained glass window fell towards them, and in a split second of cold horror Kharro realized that it would crush Arik easily and the meager cover of the fallen statue wouldn’t be enough to stop it. A wordless scream tore from her throat and she lunged upwards, throwing Arik off and thrusting with the Force. Great pressure, pure superphysical power, channeled up the bones of her arm to her fist, and it snapped out from her with a sound like a thunderclap. The slab shattered a span of hands above her knuckles and rained down as pebbles in a neat circle around them.
Kharro stared, but there was no time to be shocked at the unexpected efficacy of her push. Thankfully Arik was up, seizing her wrist and dragging her towards the safety of the hallway and out, into the blazing sun.
Furiously blinking grit and sun-blindness from her eyes, Kharro saw a half-dozen LAAT/i hovering on the broad expanse of cracked earth before the broken cathedral. In the distance she could hear blaster fire but it was too far to reach them; the air support she’d called in had finally arrived and was keeping the Separatist anti-aircraft artillery busy. She couldn’t have asked for a cleaner pickup than if the Force itself had handed it to her.
“We got everyone,” Arik said, a note of faint disbelief audible even through his modulator. His armor was entirely gray with dust. Kharro realized that she must have looked the same.
Suddenly gorge rose in her throat. Reaching out, Arik caught her lek in one hand and drew it back over her shoulder, half his attention still on the comms, as she turned and vomited neatly into the dirt, barely managing to pull the other aside in time. “Alright, General?”
Kharro spat and closed her eyes, a pounding headache flaring viciously to life. She stood and turned to him, and felt his hand clamp down hard on her shoulder as she staggered.
“I had it completely under control,” she said, shrugging him off, and strode without weaving across the baked ground to the LAAT/i settling just above it.
The last few squads climbed on board as the doors opened, and Kharro stepped up after them, turning to clasp Arik’s forearm and haul him up as the transport cleared for takeoff. He stood close, clutching one of the hanging straps and turning slightly, putting his body slightly between hers and the rest of the cabin. Someone whistled and said, Kandosii, sir, as the ruined cathedral vanished behind the blast doors. Kharro gripped her strap with both hands and closed her eyes against the headache, letting the cool green of Arik’s mind rest against hers for a few moments as the ship pulled slowly up into the sky.

Three blocks from Mark Zuckerberg’s $10 million Tudor home in San Francisco, Jake Orta lives in a small, single-window studio apartment filled with trash.
There’s a child’s pink bicycle helmet that Mr. Orta dug out from the garbage bin across the street from Mr. Zuckerberg’s house. And a vacuum cleaner, a hair dryer, a coffee machine — all in working condition — and a pile of clothes that he carried home in a Whole Foods paper bag retrieved from Mr. Zuckerberg’s bin.
A military veteran who fell into homelessness and now lives in government subsidized housing, Mr. Orta is a full-time trash picker, part of an underground economy in San Francisco of people who work the sidewalks in front of multimillion-dollar homes, rummaging for things they can sell.
Trash picking is a profession more often associated with shantytowns and favelas than a city at the doorstep of Silicon Valley. The Global Alliance of Waste Pickers, a nonprofit research and advocacy organization, counts more than 400 trash picking organizations across the globe, almost all of them in Latin America, Africa and southern Asia.
But trash scavengers exist in many United States cities and, like the rampant homelessness in San Francisco, are a signpost of the extremes of American capitalism. A snapshot from 2019: One of the world’s richest men and a trash picker, living a few minutes’ walk from each other.
Mr. Orta, 56, sees himself as more of a treasure hunter.
“It just amazes me what people throw away,” he said one night, as he found a pair of gently used designer jeans, a new black cotton jacket, gray Nike running sneakers and a bicycle pump. “You never know what you will find.”
Mr. Orta says his goal is to earn around $30 to $40 a day from his discoveries, a survival income of around $300 a week.
Trash picking is illegal in California — once a bin is rolled out onto the sidewalk the contents are considered the possession of the trash collection company, according to Robert Reed, a spokesman for Recology, the company contracted to collect San Francisco’s garbage. But the law is rarely enforced.
Mr. Orta was born in San Antonio, Tex., one of 12 children. He spent more than a dozen years in the Air Force, loading aircraft during the Persian Gulf war of 1991 and was dispatched to Germany, Korea and Saudi Arabia. By the time he returned to the United States, his wife had left him, and he struggled with alcoholism and homelessness. He moved to San Francisco, and five years ago qualified for a program assisting chronically homeless veterans.
At dusk he leaves his apartment building, which is wedged between a popular brunch spot for tech workers and a cannabis shop in the heart of the Mission neighborhood. The smell of marijuana fills the vestibule. Walking up a steep hill lined with mature trees, he passes homes that could pass for works of art: Victorians, some with stained glass and elaborate cornices and moldings painted in a soft palette of pastels, ocher, celadon and teal. A virtual tour of the neighborhood on the Zillow site shows that homes valued at $3 million and above are the norm.
But Mr. Orta doesn’t look at the architecture. He walks the streets, slightly stooped, his eyes peeled on the ground and a flashlight in his back pocket. His friends call him the Finder.
On the six times Mr. Orta went out with a reporter, he followed a variety of circuits, but usually ended up exploring his favorite alleys and a dumpster that has been bountiful. (The first rule of dumpster scavenging, he said, is to make sure there’s no raccoon or possum in there.) In March, the dumpster yielded a box of silver goblets, dishes and plates, as if someone had yanked a tablecloth from underneath a feast in some European chateau.
“How do you say it?” William Washington, one of Mr. Orta’s trash-picking colleagues, remarked one night. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
Mr. Orta’s other recent discoveries: phones, iPads, three wristwatches and bags of marijuana. (“I smoked it,” he said when asked how much he got for the pot.) In late August or September, as participants return from the annual Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert, Mr. Orta says he often finds abandoned bicycles covered in fine sand.
Mr. Orta says he only takes what people have clearly thrown away, although 14 years ago he spent a few months in jail for breaking into someone’s garage in Sacramento and trying to steal a wrench for his bicycle. “It was a dumb mistake,” he said.
For years San Francisco has been a global beacon of recycling, attracting a stream of government ministers, journalists and students from across the globe to study the sorting facilities of Recology.
But the city is also full of young, affluent people preoccupied with demanding jobs and long commutes for whom the garbage can is a tempting way to get rid of that extra pair of jeans or old electronics cluttering their closet.
“We have a lot of trash of convenience,” said Mr. Reed, the spokesman for Recology. “You’ve got more and more tech people here and this city is moving faster and faster. These people have short attention spans. Some discard items that ought to be repurposed through a thrift shop.”

Sweater Weather Part Six
Alright everyone here is the final part to this fic, it’s pretty short as I didn’t quite like how I was going to end it originally and re-wrote it to better accomplish a semi-decent ending. Enjoy!
Pairings: Steve Rogers x PottsRelativeFem!Reader
Ratings/Warnings: 18+ (Not smut but just to cover my ass)
For everything from language, crude jokes, ADULT situations/impure thoughts, booze (because it’s pretty much a staple in my fics at this point.), arguments, and an extremely overprotective Tony Stark. Very little angst, as I try to keep most of my fics light humored. But of course there are some insecurities/unsure feelings, as well as sad feels from everything with endgame/ the decimation. Also dead parents.
Also AU in the fact NO ONE DIED during Endgame/Steve didn’t go back. Also as much as I adore Morgan Stark, she isn’t around yet. I didn’t know where this would fit timeline wise, so just ignore the timeline. Kay? Cool.
Words: 2,844
Summary: You’ve just moved to New York after a long 3 year stint travelling the world and helping with various charities, taking a new job with Stark Industries thanks to your cousin Pepper. A trip out to surprise Tony and The Avengers for the weekend turns from good to terrible when the a/c at the compound breaks. How will you beat the heat for the record breaking weekend?
It’s in Y/N Y/L/N format, any pictures, outfits, gifs, and marvel characters just assume I don’t own them. Also no Beta, as I don’t ever have one, so the mistakes and reader are all my own. Enjoy!
Part Six
When Pepper put two and two together about you and your Captain’s whereabouts she promptly sent you a text saying she would get Peter and Carol to help make dinner so you wouldn’t have to. You had quickly sent back a “Thank you!” before sneaking off with Steve to the showers to clean up, as well as have round four (and five) of the mattress mambo. Without the mattress. You were learning very quickly that super serum had plenty of upsides, and you were a fan of all of them.
You were snuggled into the very same satisfied Captain watching videos of your adventures over the past three years on your phone when a very obnoxious Sam and Bucky all but kicked in your door.
“Stop playing tickle-tail and come get some food!” Bucky held his hand over his and Sam’s eyes as they entered, and you were more than happy that Steve had talked you into putting on clothes.
“Yea! Stop playing Doctor!” Sam cut in, you reaching behind you to throw a well aimed pillow at them.
“Guys we have clothes on.” Your response was met with nervous chuckling as Bucky removed his hand, finding the two of you cuddling together quite a cute sight. You unwillingly untangled yourself from your blonde beau’s strong arms and stretched, standing from your bed and looking at the two friends. “Well? Lead the way!” You noticed their slightly wide eyes and faltered your steps. “What?”
“You might want to put on a sweater first Y/N.” Sam said pointedly, trying to avoid eye contact with some of the fresh marks Steve had left on your neck and shoulders. Your hands shot out to run across your skin, as if you could see them with your fingertips.
“How bad is it?!” You exclaimed, rushing to turn on your phone’s camera to get a better look.
“Looks like you lost a war with a vacuum cleaner.” Bucky shrugged, your face burning with the intensity of the sun as you zoomed in on your irritated skin, some of the marks already turning a dark purple shade. There weren’t that many, but the one on your neck was looking very prominent. You squeaked in anger, pushing your attacker hard in the chest as he went to stand, the action catching him unaware and sending him back on the bed with a loud thump.
“What the hell Rogers!? I told you no marks on my neck! I’m going to have to wear a scarf in the middle of August at my first day of work tomorrow!” Steve looked down at the ground embarrassed as he stood up again, Sam and Bucky snickering in the background.
“Sorry Doll, I got carried away…” He tried, smiling at you and forcing your resolve to melt upon contact. “You’re too delicious, I was weak…”
“Alright, we’re out of here.” Bucky made a face, stopping your boyfriend from finishing his statement. “Throw some ice on it for a few and cover it with some concealer and powder. We’ll get Pepper to light some candles and dim the lights so Captain not so successful Cockblock doesn’t see em.”
You quirked a brow at Bucky’s instructions, crossing arms over your chest. “And just how do you know these tricks Barnes?”
“Nat.” Was all the brunette said with a wink, dragging a rightly puzzled Wilson out of the room. You shook your head as the new information sunk in, walking over to the cooler and pulling out some ice to hold on your neck, not missing Steve’s darkening eyes as he stepped towards you.
“Ooooh no, don’t look at me like that. You need to get out of here and into the dining room before Tony comes looking for us.” You jokingly pushed him as he looped his fingers into the waistband of your shorts, pulling you to him as he ghosted your tank top clad shoulders with his lips.
“Can’t help it, that ice cube gave me ideas…” He chuckled darkly as you shivered, squirming out of his grasp and mock glaring at him.
“Later.” You hissed, again pushing him away before going to your dufflel bag and searching for a tee shirt to cover your other marks. You sighed in frustration as you were forced to throw on the only one you had left, realizing it was black and as such would no doubt be hot as hell to eat in. But at least you would be packing up and leaving the compound after dinner. You couldn’t wait to blast the a/c  in your truck the whole way home.
While expertly covering up the mark on your neck you heard the rumble of the Quinjet, figuring everyone had gotten sick of no cool air inside the compound and elected to have dinner in the large aircraft. Not that you could blame them, your jury rigged coolers could only do so much. After you looked presentable, making sure the discoloration wasn’t as noticeable as before, you and Steve walked hand in hand to the dining room, both of you stopping in shock at the elegant dinner sitting in front of you. Candles were lit and not a soul was around, only two place settings, a bottle of wine in a small bucket on the side, and the smell of food overwhelming your senses. You picked up the small note on the corner, admiring the perfect cursive. Pepper
“Tony wanted take out to avoid looking at you two. He mentioned getting noise cancelling headphones for everyone as a Christmas gift. Enjoy your dinner, we took the jet but we’ll be back in a bit.
P.S Don’t eat at the table naked, I haven’t scotch guarded the chairs yet. ”
Your laughter rang out as you passed the note to Steve, who smiled and rolled his eyes, pulling your chair out for you so the two of you could eat. Your mouth was watering at the roast she had made, wasting no time with loading your plate up.
“You hungry?” Blue eyes mused when you passed him the salad bowl, your own eyes sparkling back as you spared him a glance before promptly stuffing your face.
“Yea. I blame you and the earlier extracurricular activities.” Your muffled retort had Steve snorting into his wine glass, his eyes never leaving yours, his large hand once again finding your bare thigh. You ate in a comfortable silence after that, enjoying being alone together without the knowing stares from your friends. And Tony. The amazing food was proving to be a great distraction from Steve’s wandering hand.
After travelling the world for three years you had missed Pepper’s cooking something fierce, and you were certain you were going to put on some weight moving back here. But you were also certain Steve would be keeping you in shape. He wouldn’t hear a single complaint from you. The gang returned to the compound not too long after you had eaten so much you felt like you could burst, the two of you cleaning up the remains of dinner and washing dishes before heading back to your room.
“You two decent?” Natasha called from your doorway, Steve helping you pack up your belongings and carrying your large cooler to his room, although he wouldn’t be sleeping there tonight.
“We aren’t heathens Nat, Jesus.” You huffed out in annoyance as she smirked.
“I see you’ve packed up, headed out soon?”
You nodded at the red head, throwing the duffel over your shoulder with little effort. “Yea, I gotta get some actual sleep before I start my new job tomorrow.”
“Pepper told me you’d be working at the new Tower,” You widened your eyes at her “Don’t worry, I didn’t tell Tony or anyone else. I was sworn to secrecy.” She patted your shoulder in reassurance. Her eyes darted between you and Steve as he reentered the hallway from his own room with his own overnight bag, her expression blank. “Thought you said you needed sleep tonight?”
She laughed while deftly dodging your open palm, you barely grazing her arm in frustration. “You lot ever going to let us live this down?”
“Probably not, and it’s only going to get worse when Tony’s not around. We all promised to give him time to adjust before we start gossiping about you two.”
“Oh great. Thanks.” You huffed again, grabbing Steve’s hand and heading down the hallway to say goodbye to everyone. The group stood outside, crowded around your truck to see you off.
“Lemme know how your first day goes Short Stack.” Tony smiled warmly at you, pulling you into a bone crushing hug. “Happy looks good on you kiddo.” You beamed back at him as you broke apart, shaking Bruce’s hand next.
“Stay cool Jolly Green.” He chuckled at you and moved aside so Thor could properly hug you goodbye. You had to force yourself to remain calm, holding back your emotions and reminding yourself you’d be seeing all of them a lot. And soon. This wasn’t goodbye. Nat and Sam both side hugged you, Carol shaking your hand. “You’re a total bad ass, I hope we can see each other more in the future.”
“Count on it Y/N.” The blonde powerhouse smirked in return, the hyper teen next in line bouncing on his feet as you made your way to him.
“Nice meeting you Peter.” You laughed as he all but launched himself at you, you fondly patting the teen’s back as he embraced you.
“You too Miss Y/N. Hopefully I see you around more!”
“You will don’t worry.” You smiled in affirmation, Bucky moving to stand in front of you. His large frame engulfed your body easily, you stiffening slightly while you recalled Steve’s words about him not being a huge hugger. “You feeling ok Barnes?”
“I haven’t seen him this happy in a long time Y/N. That being said I shouldn’t have to tell you what will happen if you break his heart.” You swallowed hard and nodded your head, his smile getting wider as he pulled away. “That goes for him too, I’m rooting for you guys.”
“Well if my best friend is done with the death threats, Y/N and I have places to be.” Steve stared at Bucky pointedly, who only shrugged and opened the truck door for you.
“Wait, where’s Pepper?” You called, your cousin nowhere in sight.
“She said to go on without her, the take out isn’t agreeing with her.” Tony waved you on, you deciding you didn’t want to wait around for her in that state. She was not quiet when she fell ill, and you could feel your face turning green at the memory of hearing her drunken retching during your partying phase. You happily jumped in your truck and promptly started the engine, making sure the air conditioning was on full blast as soon as you shut the door. Steve climbed in next to you, waving out the window to your friends as you pulled out of the parking lot, leaving the sticky compound behind you in a cloud of dust.
~~~Next Day~~~
“I’m telling you Pep you should really look into hiring a new Receptionist now that this place is back in business.” Tony took off his sunglasses as he entered the newly built Stark Tower, his eyes blinking to adjust after the assault of photographers demanded photographic evidence of the opening ceremony.
His wife only smiled knowingly as they neared the front desk after her husband checked in with security for the day. She nodded at you, you taking the cue and sliding a large paper cup across the top of the reception counter.
“Good morning Mister Stark, here’s your black coffee and paper. You have an appointment with a Mister Fury at noon, followed by a press conference at two.”
You’d remember Tony’s shocked face for the rest of your days.
“You gotta stop trying to kill me Short Stack!” He wheezed, clutching his chest and taking the small cup with a grin. “My old ass can only take so fucking much.”
“Sir that language is highly inappropriate. Don’t make me go to human resources on our first day of business.” Your threat had no actual substance and your cousin in law saw right through you, shaking his head with a chuckle.
“Joke’s on you Y/N, She’s on vacation until September.” You snorted, your two family members taking their leave and heading towards the elevators. The rest of the team followed in after, quickly noticing your new position and cheering with excitement.
Steve’s wide smile as his blue eyes met your gaze made your heart stop.
“Ya know, when you said you wouldn’t be far this morning I thought you were just being cute.” He mused, you smirking into your coffee cup as he brought his lips down to kiss your cheek. “Have lunch with me today?”
“Just go ahead and assume my answer is “Yes” to everything you ask from here on out.” You quipped, tossing him a wink before reaching to answer the phone. “Thank you for calling Stark Industries this is Y/N, how may I direct your call?”
“Oooh, your phone voice is sexy Sweetheart.” You swatted his arm and sent him away, rolling your eyes at his wiggling eyebrows as he walked backwards all the way to the elevators, forcing you to hold in your giggles while you remained on the phone. Lovesick idiot.
You day continued to pass by in a blur, and before you had time to make heads from tails with the computer system it was already lunch time.
“Let’s go Short stack, Kay’s is calling us.” You brought your head up from behind the desk, Pepper holding a small delicately wrapped box in her hands as she kept in step with your cousin in law. “Lunch is on me today. As a hashtag welcome to the team I can’t believe you didn’t tell me you brat peace offering.”
You shook your head with a smile, a certain tall blonde coming up behind them to sweep you away. “Sorry Snark,” Grasping Steve’s hand you allowed him to lead you out from behind the long desk, memorizing the way your cousin in law feigned being hurt.  “I have a prior engagement.”
“Well fine. Ya know I saw her first Cap. I don’t do well with being second place.” He huffed.
“Don’t worry Tony, you’ll always be my number one pain in the ass.” You beamed, the man barking out a laugh.
“Before you go I wanted you to be here while Tony opens his opening day gift from me!” Pepper spoke nervously, handing the box to her husband who only looked at her suspiciously.
“Every day you don’t murder me is a gift from you darling.” He joked, untying the ribbon with ease, the lid falling off the top with a certain childish carelessness that made everyone around you laugh. “Uh honey…”
“Yes sweetie?” Her tone had a sense of insecurity and you were a bit thrown off by her sudden mood swing.
“Make sure my dress doesn’t go over my head.” Was all the dark haired man got out before promptly passing out, Steve acting quick to catch your out cold cousin before he severely injured himself on the hard floor. Your eyes moved to find the three objects that had fallen out of the box, gasping alongside Natasha and Bruce as they bent to pick them up.
“Pepper, you’re pregnant!?” You breathed out, your cousin giving a shy smile and nodding.
“My first appointment is tomorrow, will you come with me?” Tears of happiness stung your eyes as you enthusiastically nodded, rushing to hug her.
“Of course! I wouldn’t miss making fun of Tony being a dad for anything in the world!” She cried in your arms back, the two of you holding onto each other for a long moment as the Avengers and some random people started to clap for her. “Congratulations, you’re gonna be an amazing mom!”
“I hope so Y/N.” Pepper smiled behind more tears, breaking from the hug and giving you a light nudge. “Now go have lunch with your man, we’ll talk after work.”
Steve left Tony in Thor’s confused arms and reached for your hand, smiling the whole way out of the tower. “Some weather we’re having huh?” He scrunched his nose up at the clouds, the sky looking a menacing shade of gray.
You shrugged in indifference, “I’ll take the rain over a heat wave any day.”
“It’s always a heat wave when I’m with you Sweetheart.”
A deadpanned expression crossed your features as you stopped in your tracks to look up at him. “You’re lucky you’re cute. That was so fucking corny Rogers.”
“Yea, but you love me anyway.” You raised an eyebrow at his cocky assumption.
“Eh, I blame the heat wave” A growl came out from his throat and you yelped, jumping just out of his grasp and running down the street, the two of you laughing the whole way to your favorite diner.
The end
Christmas Surprise
Who: @wndwmn
What: Diana gets an unexpected gift from the past.
When: Christmas
Where: The museum
Triggers: Nope!
Steve: "Owww..."
Steve groaned, one hand clutching his head and the other wrapped around his middle. He had never had a headache this bad in his life. Every time he tried to open his eyes pain lanced from his retinas to the back of his skull and when he forced them all the way open the intensity of the pain ripped a roar out of Steve's chest. It sounded like a wounded animal rather than a human being, so loud it echoed against the walls of...wherever he was.
While it had been painful as all hell forcing his eyes open had either desensitized them or overloaded the pain receptors, or something. He just knew that after he blinked a couple times the bright white faded away and he was slowly able to make out the details of where he was.
He was on a plane.
Well, shit.
The last time he'd been on a plane hadn't ended well for him. Moving slowly, because his head still hurt Steve sat up into a sitting position. Looking down at himself he frowned. Why was he naked? And covered in smears of…clay? Rubbing his hands over his face he was about to make a frustrated sound but feeling hair against his palms he froze, fingertips sliding down to his cheeks. When the hell did he grow a beard? This was…this was all wrong. Where was Diana? This seemed like the kind of thing that Diana would understand better than he would.
Like the whole…Ares thing. Which was still strange, but whatever. He had seen what Diana could do, and more than that he trusted her, so if she said it was true, then it was true.
Still disoriented from his headache and subsequent discoveries Steve wasn't paying nearly as much attention as he should've been to where he was putting his feet. Which was unfortunate, because as he pushed himself up he took a step backwards…into empty air. Surprise had him yelling as he fell, arms pinwheeling comically, and when he crashed down on a 'Captain America' mannequin that had been displaying his uniform from WWI Steve groaned, having landed on his back, all the air punched out of him.
"Owww…"
Diana: It was a late shift, but only by Diana's own doing. She had been in a foul mood all day - its catalyst remained unknown - and she couldn't bring it in herself to go home just yet. There were a few filing needs to be done that could have waited until morning, could have waited until the end of the week really, but Diana wanted to see it done.
Her eyes had begun to feel heavy, eyelids hanging low behind half mooned glasses perched upon the tip of her nose. She set them aside and rubbed her eyes. It was late. But still, she didn't necessarily want to go back to her apartment. So, she took a walk instead. Her heels clicked throughout the tiled hallways, their sounds echoing tremendously through the museum. Aside from the security guards, she was the only one inside. Or so she thought. A sound caught her attention, one heading from the WWI section of the wing. With a frown and brow set, Diana headed in that direction, eyes focused for any potential adversary.
The room remained lit and bright with light - it had been cleaned recently, which was evident by the 'wet floor signs' that remained and the smell of floor cleaner. Diana noted a figure by one of the exhibits; she clenched a fist. "I know you're there; state your name." She called out as she took a few steps forward, though remained a safe distance away just in case. She didn't have her lasso on her, nor her shield.
Steve: Lying on top of the mannequin version of Steve Rogers, Steve did a self-catalogue to check for injuries...and was surprised when he didn’t find any. That fall must’ve been fifteen feet at least, the exhibit set up in a room with high ceilings specifically to accommodate the replica of the Valkyrie, and yet, except for getting the air knocked out of him Steve was fine.
Yeah, something’s definitely off.
Laid out on the ground still Steve heard heels against tile well before the woman walked into the room, his brows furrowed as he tried to figure out what the sound was. But then he heard her voice and relief flooded him. Diana was alive, she had made it through the fight and whatever else had come after that. He had been trying not to think about how worried about her he’d been, very aware that she could protect herself, but his instinct was to keep her safe and instinct wasn’t logical.
Another groan escaped Steve as he pushed himself up into more of a sitting position with one hand, his other pushing his hair out of his face, looking a lot like a confused puppy. ”It’s me, Diana. Not sure how I got here though...wherever here is.”
Diana: It had been decades since she had heard that voice last and she had missed it every minute. She knew the waves of his inflections and the warm tones that danced with his words. She knew him by smell alone. But that didn't ease her surprise when she heard Steve's voice ring out. It was him.
Diana's brows knitted down as she rounded parts of the exhibit to reach where Steve lay upon the floor, naked and dirty. "Steve..." came her breath as she looked down upon him, surprised at what her eyes were seeing. She lowered to her knees slowly, unsure, and reached out a tentative hand. "Is it you?" Her hand just barely rested on his cheek; his beard felt foreign beneath her palm. But it suited him.
Steve: As Diana came into view Steve couldn’t help the way he smiled, wide and warm, blue eyes full of love. She was beautiful as ever. He wasn’t sure what she was wearing, but she looked amazing, but then she always did.
Diana’s touch against his cheek was electric, literally, a spark jumping between his skin and her fingertips, but he was too distracted by the woman in front of him to think of it as anything other than a bit of static shock. Reaching up he covered her hand with his own, turning his face towards her touch at the same time so that he could press a kiss to the centre of her palm. God, she smelled good, how did she always smell so good? Turning his head back towards her so that blue eyes could meet brown.
”Of course it’s me, Diana.” The look on her face didn’t match up with his memories of the last time they saw each other, neither did what she was wearing. ”Last thing I remember is shooting the bombs, then....nothing, ‘til now.” He should probably be more worried than he was, but it was difficult when he was getting to see Diana again, after being so sure that he would die on that plane.
Diana: His gaze said everything he didn't, but she could feel the affection radiate from him, even before she touched his face. The spark wasn't lost on her; it shot through her hand and up her arm, but it was quick and lasted only a second. Her body relaxed completely when he kissed her hand and held her there.
She allowed herself to smile despite her continual wave of surprise. She heard his words but she couldn't bring herself to reply, not when all she could do was pull him close into her arms. She held him there in her embrace, ignoring the clay that spread to her clothes. A sigh escaped her. "I've missed you," came her response, finally, though it was quiet and full of emotion. She could feel tears prick her shut eyes. "I've missed you so much." It didn't matter to her how he came to be here, but she was forever grateful. Her heart was forever grateful.
Steve: ”Oh, okay.” Being pulled into her arms was a bit of a surprise, they hadn’t had very much time to discover just how demonstrative they were before he climbed into that plane. ”This is nice.” That was probably stupid to say out loud. He knew that, and yet he couldn’t bring himself to care all that much. He wasn’t dead, Diana didn’t seem to be upset with him, these were all good things. He didn’t hesitate to slide his arms around her in turn, hugging her close in a grip that would be far too tight if she were a mortal woman, Steve unaware of his strength.
Diana’s words broke his heart, the tone more than anything, and needing to comfort her despite his confusion (how long could he have been gone for?) Steve scooped her up and pulled her into his lap so that he could cradle her against his chest, holding her as close as he could. ”I’m here, love, and I’m not going anywhere.” He was pretty sure his military career was over after everything they did to try and end the war.
Diana: Diana uttered a breath of a quiet laugh at his comment; this was nice. She thought she'd carry him with her forever, and she had accepted that a long time ago, but now that he was here - well, she wouldn't complain. This was nicer than anything she could have imagined.
After a moment of enjoying his arms around her, Diana sighed and pulled back enough to search his face. She touched his beard again before her eyes met his. "There's nothing else that you can remember? Nothing after the plane?" She asked; the memories of that moment flashed in her mind. Her breath hitched in her throat when she visualized the aircraft exploding in the sky. She could remember the pain she felt.
"You were dead, Steve. We all thought you were dead." Diana swallowed and turned to look at the small clock above the entryway to that part of the exhibit. "Come on, my office is not too far from here. I need to find you something to wear." She suggested as she started to remove herself from the comfort of his embrace and stand.
Steve: Steve’s brow furrowed as he thought back again. He remembered them arguing, him insisting that it had to be him because she was the one who could save the world, and she couldn’t save the world if she went up in that plane. He remembered how desperately he wanted to kiss her, but knowing they didn’t have the time for that. Remembered giving her his father’s watch and telling her that he loved her, because he hadn’t had the chance the night they had spent together and he needed her to know that she had claimed his heart for her and her alone. And then he remembered running after the plane that he knew would be the death of him.
He shook his head with a sigh. ”The last thing I remember is blowing up the plane, and then I was waking up on a different plane.” Glancing around the exhibit he looked confused as he focused on her. It wasn’t hard to figure out they were in a museum, he’d always been more intelligent than most gave him credit for, but he was confused about the exhibit they seemed to be in. ”Why did Rogers get his own exhibit? Did you get an exhibit? You should have an exhibit.” If Captain America got a whole room then Diana certainly deserved one for everything she did during the war.
He was distracted from the issue of gender inequality amongst superheroes by the news that, apparently, he had died. Well. That was disheartening. His face fell, unable to help it. He had been wondering how he survived the explosion that must have come after he shot the bombs, but it looked like the answer was: he hadn’t. Being told to follow Diana he listened, releasing her so she could stand up before he followed suit. But, mention of finding him something to wear gave the spy pause, Steve looking down at the broken mannequin parts strewn about. His fall had destroyed the mannequin, but the uniform was still intact and with the mannequin in pieces it wasn’t hard to strip down until Steve was standing there Cap’s uniform in hand holding it up as a solution to the clothes problem. ”I don’t think Rogers would mind.” They were nearly the same size (height wise at least, no one had muscles like Rogers), it’d probably fit.
Diana: Diana could only nod at Steve's further explanation; it was fine that he couldn't remember what happened. She was used to that - Bucky didn't remember much of her from the war, but she didn't hold that against him. She had to do the same with Steve, otherwise she'd be a hypocrite. At his question, Diana had to smile softly. "I couldn't tell you. I'll bring your suggestion to the other board members, though." She offered, her smile spreading just slightly.
She lifted a brow at his suggestion and gave the uniform a once over. "It might fit. You're lucky I can just ask Rogers for a replacement, otherwise I'd have to say no to you wearing it." She nodded and turned just slightly so she could give him a little privacy. "We have a few minutes before the guard comes down this hallway."
Steve: Steve managed a smirk as he gave the uniform a once over. ”Oh, I wouldn’t want to keep it. This thing just screams ‘I’m important, shoot me.’” And that wasn’t bad for people like Diana and Rogers, it was their job to be in the spotlight, to keep the enemy’s attention so that people like Steve could sneak around unnoticed and get things done that would otherwise be impossible. Luckily, he wasn’t currently being shot at, so he didn’t have any qualms with tugging the uniform on (having enough respect for Rogers to get as much as the clay off of him as he could first so that he didn’t dirty the uniform more than he had to).
Once it was on Steve was surprised at how well it fit, it wasn’t perfect, because Rogers was bulkier than he was, but it didn’t look awful, or at least he hoped not. ”How do I look?” Putting his hands on his hips he struck the classic ‘Captain America’ pose Rogers had on all the recruitment posters, a playful smirk on his lips.
Diana: His question indicated that it was okay for Diana to fully look him over, which she did, and smiled at the sight of him in the suit. It didn't look half bad, definitely better than anyone else would be able to wear. She tilted her head slightly and gave him a once over, "I think you look distinguished. Too bad it's not a perfect fit."
Diana then gestured with a hand and started in the direction of her office. "Come on. I have a lot that we need to discuss. And don't worry about the mess. I'll have it taken care of."
Steve: Steve chuckled, hands dropping to hang loosely at his sides. ”I think that’s the first time anyone’s called me distinguished.” He’d been called distinguished while he was undercover, but that didn’t count, not really.
Following after her Steve looked around the museum as they walked through it. Some of it was what he expected to see, the same kind of things he’d seen at museums in the past, but some things...some things were just really strange. He was starting to get that feeling in the pit of his stomach he got when he knew he was about to hear news he didn’t like.
Diana: Diana's smile could only grow. A familiar warmth grew in her, an affection there that she hadn't felt in many, many years. There were people that she adored, cared for, needed, but not like this. Never like this.
She opened the office door for him when they reached it and locked it behind them. She suddenly became overly aware of the memories that littered her office - in her desk and on the shelves surrounding. Diana wrung her hands together before she turned to face him, her smile soft but wary. "I think you should sit down for this."
Steve: As much as Steve was looking around the museum he was spending just as much time looking back at Diana. She was beautiful, but that was not surprising, she’d claimed the title of ‘most beautiful woman he’d ever seen’ the moment he opened his eyes on that beach and there’d been no risk of her losing it. But more than her beauty he could see that time had passed since they’d seen each other last. She hadn’t aged a day, but it was in the way she held herself, the way she moved, and just the general air about her. She’d lived a life that he hadn’t been there for, and he hated that he’d missed sharing those moments with her, but the world had been at stake and he’d done what he had to do so that she could save it.
Stepping into her office he looked around, fascinated by all the pictures and mementos. Before he really realised it he was walking around the edge of the office, looking at the pictures and things. He had just gotten to her desk when she suggested he sit, but then he was distracted by the picture he saw. ”Hey, I remember this.” He picked up the picture, confused a little by the weight of it, but he was more distracted by the content of picture. ”This was a good day.” It was after they had liberated the town, but before the Nazi’s had gassed it. The same day they had spent their single night together.
Setting the photo back down blue eyes were warm as they looked up at Diana, Steve circling around her desk to approach and stop in front of her, his hands lifting to cup her face. ”What if I don’t want to sit?” What if he didn’t want to know? He knew he had to know, whatever it was it was going to be important, he could tell by the look on her face. But that same look told him that once he knew everything things were going to start happening and they might not get another quiet moment.
Diana: The photo that Steve picked up was her most cherished possession and she inwardly tensed, but the realization that the person she'd miss if the photo were to shatter was the one who was holding it. Her shoulders relaxed then and she offered him a smile. She nodded in agreement. "It was one of my favorites."
His hands on her face were warm; she had to resist the urge to close her eyes at his touch. She gave him a sympathetic look, her brows furrowed slightly and smile at her lips. "You don't have to sit if you don't want to. It's heavily implied that you should anyway." Her voice was gentle as she lifted her hands to rest over Steve's.
Steve: Steve couldn’t help the way he laughed, the sound soft. Of course she wouldn’t let him avoid what needed to be done. It was one of the things he loved about her, her determination and resilience. Sighing, a smile on his lips he leaned down, eyes slipping closed, so that his forehead rested against hers for a long moment.
”Alright, Diana, I’ll sit.” Baby blues fluttered open and then he was stroking her cheeks with his thumbs before he released her, hands slipping away as he moved to sit in the closest chair, eyes never leaving her.
Diana: Everything went still when his forehead rested against hers. With his eyes closed and hers followed suit, the room got quiet. It felt as if the world stopped. She stopped breathing in that moment, though his voice roused her from whatever trance he had put on her.
She swallowed but nodded. Immediately she missed his touch even though he was a mere couple of feet away. Diana leaned against the edge of the desk with her hands clasped together in front of her. She gave him a smile, a silent thanks; she thought that this might be better.
"One hundred years," she came out with. "That's how long's it's been..."
Steve: He had wanted one last quiet moment with her, and he was glad that he had taken that moment when finally told him just when he was.
’One hundred years’
For a long time he just stared at her, her words echoing in his ears. His mind was having difficulty wrapping around the concept that a century had gone by while he was dead. Finally he managed words. ”A century?” As he spoke all the lights in the room flickered, Steve not realising that his emotional state was affecting them. ”I....how?!”** Another flicker, this one a bit faster than the last to match the way his voice raised in pitch as he pushed down the mild feeling of panic. If a century went by then...then everyone he knew was dead. Except for Diana, obviously.
Suddenly glad he had listened to her and was sitting down Steve slumped back against the chair, the look on his face a little dazed.
Diana: Diana could feel the panic grow within him as if it were palpable. She could also feel the energy that danced quickly through the air; it set her hairs on end. It felt like static, but it was strong. He had the strength to utter a few words, but she couldn't answer his questions. She didn't know how. She know how he had managed to come back after that long. She didn't know how he was alive.
Diana pushed off the desk and lowered to kneel in front of Steve. She took his hands in hers. "Steve..." she swallowed. "I do not know how you're here. But it's a miracle nonetheless." She didn't want to feel selfish about this, but her heart soared.
Steve: Steve didn’t see Diana approaching or kneeling in front of him, too distracted by the sheer amount of time he’d been dead. He did feel her hands cover his and that drew his gaze, the man trying to focus on what she was saying. A miracle....well, that was a word for it.
While he might not be sure how he felt about being back from the dead after a century, he did know how he felt about being back with Diana, and his expression softened as their eyes met. He had no idea what he was supposed to do in this new century, but there was one thing he knew hadn’t changed since his day, and he had been wanting to kiss Diana since before he got on that damn plane.
Freeing one hand from hers he lifted it and slid it into her hair, drawing he up as he leaned in. He moved slowly, giving her time to stop him, and when she didn’t he fit his lips to hers in a tender kiss. He just barely got the taste of her on his lips when tiny lightning bolts sparked between their lips, Steve jerking back with a yelp, more from the surprise of the strength of the shock than it actually hurting.
”Christ! Is that new?”** He didn’t remember that happening the last time they kissed.
Diana: She smiled when he lifted a hand to the side of her head; she did miss the feeling of his hand in her hair. While it was a surprise, it was wasn't completely unwarranted. It had been a long time since either had seen the other. She still loved him immensely.
The kiss left much to be desired as the pair was interrupted by the shock that sparked between their lips. Diana pressed her fingertips to her mouth as she sat back and frowned; the pain didn't linger, but it was definitely a confusing moment for her. She hadn't exactly been with anyone since Steve, and she also knew her powers had strengthened since then. Could it be her?
"I don't know. That is not the first time I have felt that same energy since finding you."
Steve: Steve’s brow furrowed as she pointed out that she’d felt the same energy before. His mind was reeling, going over all the facts available to him. 1) He’d been dead for a century, but was now, somehow, alive 2) he had woken up naked and covered in clay 3) he had fallen twenty feet onto a hard floor and wasn’t even sore 4) he was, apparently, sparking electricity left and right.
It was the clay that was sticking with him, Steve reaching out to rub his thumb against the shoulder of Diana’s shirt where some of the clay that had been on him had smeared. ”Diana...how did you say you were born?” He remembered her telling him a story on that tiny boat they’d taken off her island, but he needed her to say the words, because if he said them they’d sound crazy.
Diana: Diana wasn't entirely sure where Steve was going with that, but she recounted the story to him: of how her mother created her out of clay and prayed to Zeus that he would give her a real baby. He had given her her wish, of course, but with a stipulation.
After she reiterated the story to him, she frowned and pursed her lips. "I don't know how that would be possible..." Diana admitted, unsure as to how a new form would have the same personality as the original Steve Trevor.
Steve: At some point during her story Steve had slipped off his chair to sit next to her on the ground, his back resting against the front of her desk. Yeah, the story was just about how he remembered her telling it to him, and it sounded just as crazy as he remembered it sounding the first time. Clearly, it must have happened because Diana was here and she was by no means a normal woman, but that didn’t mean it didn’t sound any less crazy.
Looking over at her when she finished he laughed dryly, and then he was reaching out to slip his hand into hers, lacing their fingers together. ”Diana, how is any of this possible?” He was just a man (until proven otherwise he refused to think of himself as anything else), matters such as these were far beyond his scope of understanding. ”But I’m here after...everything, and I fell out of that plane and walked away without a scratch and, apparently, I’m throwing sparks left and right. I can’t explain that any other way.”
Diana: The power that hummed around Steve was undeniable. She’d felt it earlier on, when she’d first found him sprawled out on the floor, but it hadn’t alerted any flags. Not until now. She was surprised that he took this so well, after all things considering, but human men tended to surprise her. They were full of will and hope; it made her decision to be the world’s protector all the more easier. It was worth it. They were worth it.
When Steve interlaced their fingers and held her hand close to him, Diana smiled. She’d missed this. She’d missed the honesty behind his eyes, missed the understanding of his lips and the loyalty that came with the planes of his face. She’d missed his golden halo and the roughness of his palms against hers. Whatever was going on with him, whatever was happening, she’d help him to figure it out. They’d do it, together. Diana gave his hand a gentle squeeze. She didn’t want it explained; she was just grateful that he was here again. “I... Maybe. There are still many things that we do not understand about the world. I suppose it is possible...”
She shook her head. “You’re here now... That’s all that matters.”
Steve: If Steve was being one-hundred percent honest with himself he would admit that he wasn’t taking this nearly as well as he was projecting outwardly, but it wouldn’t do either of them any good if he were to panic and deny what was going on. He could do that on the inside all he wanted,  but ‘keep calm and carry on’ was a motto he had taken to heart, despite not being English. Focusing on the facts helped to keep him steady, he wasn’t the type of man to go off on fantastic flights of fancy, never having believed in gods and goddesses and all of that until he met Diana.
The squeeze of Diana’s hand was returned, Steve’s smile growing a little, his thumb stroking along hers. Being a spy had given him a particular skillset and one of those skills was knowing when someone wanted to drop a subject. It wasn’t as if figuring out the whys and wherefores tonight would change anything that had already happened, so Steve let it go. They’d return to it later if the need arose.
For a long moment they sat together, Steve leaning against Diana’s shoulder, their clasped hands resting against his bent knee. Eventually he had to speak because there was one problem that they couldn’t put off for very long. He actually began to chuckle before he laughed, the sound a little tired. ”So, I guess I’m out of a job.” He was assuming they won the war, because Diana was alive and well and she would have never let the war go on for a hundred years, and if they won the war there probably wasn’t a need for spies like him. ”And a house.” Even if they were in London he doubted his flat would be vacant.
Diana: Even though she didn't put too much precedence on figuring out how or why Steve was alive again, Diana was worried. There were many ways that someone could return to the world of the living - many held dark origins. Many dealt with devils and blood pacts and rituals and sacrifice. She didn't want Steve wrapped up anything like that. She didn't want him to have to owe anyone anything.
Diana turned her attention to Steve; they were inches apart. She could count the vivid blues that were his eyes. She'd have to remember them for later, just in case she'd have to miss them. She hoped not. "You can stay with me, but, and I'm sorry to have to do this," Diana stood then as she explained and reached into a drawer to procure her lasso. "I know you won't hold this against me." She needed to be sure. He looked like him, sounded like him, felt like him. But there were imposters everywhere. Diana didn't want her heart broken again.
Steve: The apology had his eyebrows arching slightly, not sure what was coming next, but when Diana moved to stand he released her hand so that he could stand up all the way. When the lasso came out it all made sense and he couldn’t help but grimace slightly, he remembered how much that thing hurt, and even when you told the truth it still wasn’t pleasant, but she was right, he didn’t hold it against her.
Pushing himself to his feet he moved to stand in front of her, and much like he did the last time he had to prove to her he was telling the truth about a promise he reached out, took the end of the lasso, and wrapped it several times around his wrist. He wasn’t going to force her to wrap him up in the lasso, wouldn’t put her through that. He would rather do it to himself.
As the golden lasso wrapped around his wrist it burned Steve gritting his teeth as he pushed the pain to the back of his mind. ”My name is Captain Steve Trevor. Pilot. American Expeditionary Forces. Serial number 8121941.” The heat of the lasso lessened since he was telling the truth making it slightly more bearable, but he didn’t remove lasso from around his wrist. ”Ask me anything you want, Diana.”
Diana: Diana didn't want to do it, but it was necessary for her safety. It was the smartest thing to do, the most sensible, and she could see om his face that Steve understood the gesture. She watched silently as he wrapped the lasso around himself, not waiting for her to even say anything. She supposed that he did know the drill by now.
That would have been a satisfying enough answer for her, but he had to urge further. Diana pressed her lips together and stepped close to him, her dark eyes searching his own gaze. "Before you boarded that plane, do you remember what you told me? When you handed me your father's watch. Do you remember?"
Steve: Blue eyes never left Diana for a moment as she stepped forwards. He wanted to reach for her, wanted to pull her close, bury his face in her hair, breathe her in, and forget that the rest of the world existed. Unfortunately, he knew he couldn’t do that, right now they were focusing on something more important that his wants.
When he told Diana to ask him anything he wasn’t expecting the question he was asked, and he couldn’t help the way his entire face softened, expression turning warm and full of fierce adoration. Taking a step forwards so that there was no space between them he reached up with his free hand and cradled her cheek in his palm. ”I love you.” The burning of the lasso around his wrist was forgotten, the world falling away from them as he stared into her eyes, marvelling at the woman who had claimed him, heart and soul, a century ago and carried him with her ever since. Staring into her eyes...it felt like coming home.
”I love you, Diana.”
Diana: When she heard it, she felt relief flood her. His willingness to prove his truth spoke volumes, but those three words broke something in her. She had missed him terribly through those years; not once did she falter, no matter how many times she wished she had. A century had passed and yet she still held a love for him that rivaled none else, and even as he stood before her now, that love remained unchanged.
At his confirmation, Diana unwound the lasso from his wrist with a swift move of her hand and pulled him in eagerly into her arms. She embraced him, warmly, with her eyes closed and an expression of pure repose adorned her face. He smelled just as she remembered, his warmth just the same as before. Part of her refused to let him go. “I love you, too,” she whispered as her hands clung to the old uniform he donned.
Steve: Steve went easily when he was pulled into Diana’s arms, his own wrapping around her in turn, and he was finally able to to bury his face in her thick, soft curls like he’d been wanting to since he saw her again. One hand was buried in her hair near his face, the other splayed against her back and he’d be supremely happy never letting go.
”I’m sorry I had to leave you.” He murmured the words through her hair into her ear, his eyes slipping closed. He wasn’t sorry that he chose to go on the plane, that had been the right decision, he couldn’t let those bombs anywhere near civilians. His only regret was that saving innocent lives had required him to leave her. It was something he would have never done if the choice were up to him. ”I’ll do my best not to do that again.” He couldn’t promise her that he never would leave her again, because if he were put in that same scenario he’d make the same decision. Millions of lives won out over the life of one man, even if that one man was him.
Diana: There was a worry that this wouldn't last. That this was nothing but an illusion of some kind; for now, she supposed, she could enjoy it. Not unless there was some imminent danger, but for the moment, while Steve was there with her, she'd enjoy it.
Diana shook her head and pulled back to look over Steve's face. She lifted a hand to cup one of his cheeks, her expression reassuring. "Don't be sorry. You had to do your duty, I understand that." It pained her, deeply, but she had been awfully proud of him when he did it. She still was. "Hopefully you won't get the chance to. At least, not when it comes to airplanes. I can fly," she finished, a smile breaking through towards the end.
Steve: Tilting his face towards her hand there was a smile on his lips. That was another thing he loved about her, that she understood his need to put duty above personal desire. If he'd had a choice of course he would've stayed with her, but he'd had no choice.
Being informed that she could fly had his lips curling into a smile, and then a grin as he shook his head. "Of course you can." Lifting his hand he cradled her cheek in his palm, leaning forwards so that he could brush the tip of his nose against hers, their lips ghosting against one another, but never quite touching. "May I?" After the last time he figured it couldn't hurt to ask before he attempted another kiss.
Diana: Diana's hand dropped from his cheek to his shoulder; the lass had been placed upon the desk. She adored this man with every fiber of her being. She had tried so many times not to, to forget him and move on with her life, but she always found her way back to him. And now he was here. She couldn't have asked for more.
The smallest chuckle escaped her at his retort. It was baffling to those not accustomed to seeing individuals with special abilities. Diana, flying? It didn't sound real. But to her it was real. It was her life. He'd have to learn it. Her breath stilled when she felt his lips brush just slightly against her own lips. She nodded, "yes."
Steve: Given permission to kiss her there was a smile on Steve's lips as he did just that, hand sliding back into her hair as he closed the last of the distance between them to press his lips against hers. This time there was no spark of lightning, only their natural chemistry, Steve's fingers curling in dark hair as he his eyes slid shut, his lips moving tenderly against hers.
Diana: It had been too long since she’d last kissed someone properly — kissed someone not because they were a friend or family, not because she just cared deeply for them or felt a strong urge of platonic love. She hadn’t kissed someone for just the love of it, for the affection and the tenderness. She’d missed this. Diana returned the gesture happily, though slowly and purposefully. She wanted to savor it, to take her time now that they had it. She didn’t want to waste a moment with him.
Steve: Steve may have been dead for a hundred years, but it didn’t feel that way. It felt like they were picking up right where they left off, only this time they had the time to enjoy one another. For the moment he didn’t attempt to deepen the kiss, he didn’t want to get carried away here in her office, she deserved so much more than that.
By the time their lips parted he was drunk on the taste of her, humming as he pressed his cheek to hers. ”Do you have more work to do tonight?” It was soft, but not quite a whisper, Steve brushing a kiss against the soft skin under her ear before pressing forwards to breathe her in. At that moment he wanted nothing more than to go home with Diana so that he could hold her in his arms and make the most of this second chance they’d been given.
Diana: The kiss remained shallow, sweet, affectionate; she remembered the curve of his lips exceptionally well, but she was pleased that he hadn’t engaged her further. A work place was not the right setting for gallivanting, of any kind. Besides — a desk was not nearly as comfortable as a mattress.
Diana leaned into him and closed her eyes at the small kisses and touches he gave her along her skin; she was content. Blissfully content, something which she hadn’t felt in a long time. “I just have one more email to reply to,” she explained and pulled back so she could search his expression, “and then I am done for the day. It should take me no more than a minute.” Reluctantly, Diana removed her arms from around Steve and stepped back around the desk to wake up her laptop and maximize the email screen.
It took her little time to respond to the inquiry about a fundraiser and shut the machine down. She closed the laptop’s lid and slipped it into a brown leather messenger bag before she slung that over her shoulder. Her work keys jingled when she slipped her cell phone into her purse. She paused, then, as she was getting ready to leave for the day, to just stop and look at Steve. There was nothing but an adoration present in her gaze.
Steve: ”Alright.” He didn’t know what she meant by ‘email’, some sort of letter, maybe? But whatever it was he would wait, he’d wait until the end of the world for Diana Prince. He let her go as she drew away, but before she moved completely out of his arms he took her by the arm loosely, hand sliding down her forearm until he could catch her fingers, raising them to his lips so that he could brush a kiss over her knuckles before letting her go completely.
As she went to her desk Steve busied himself with looking at the various items on display on her shelves, focusing mainly on the photos, seeing what she had been up to since 1918. The sound of her fingers moving over keys reminded him vaguely of a typewriter, and it was something he wanted to ask about, but tomorrow. Tonight was for them, not for the million questions he’d inevitably have once he let himself think about the fact that a century had gone by.
The sound of keys and a bag being packed had Steve turning towards Diana, and as their eyes met his were full of affection and adoration. Moving to her side they didn’t need words, Steve stroking her cheek and tucking a stray curl behind her ear, his smile warm. He moved away then, but only so that he could open the door for her, waiting for her to pass before he followed after her, the door closing with a soft snick behind them.
The Ultimate Guide: How to Choose the Best Auto Carpet and Fabric Cleaner
Maintaining a clean and fresh interior is essential for any vehicle owner. The carpet and fabric in your car are prone to collecting dirt, spills, and stains, making it crucial to invest in a high-quality auto carpet and fabric cleaner. Choosing the right one can be overwhelming with a wide array of products on the market.
Tumblr media
This guide aims to help you navigate the selection process and find the best auto carpet and fabric cleaner that suits your needs.
1: Consider the Formulation
Auto carpet and fabric cleaners come in various formulations, such as foam, liquid spray, and aerosol. Each formulation has its advantages and is suited for different cleaning tasks.
Foam cleaners are excellent for spot cleaning and targeted stain removal, while liquid sprays cover larger areas efficiently. Aerosol cleaners often come with a brush attachment, making them ideal for deep-cleaning fabric seats. Choose the formulation that best fits your cleaning preferences and requirements.
2: Check for Safe Ingredients
Opt for the Best Auto Carpet and Fabric Cleaner that is safe for your car's interior and the environment. Look for products labeled as non-toxic, biodegradable, and free from harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia.
Mild, pH-balanced cleaners are gentle on surfaces while removing stains and odors. Avoid products with overpowering fragrances that may cause discomfort during use.
3: Stain and Odor Removal
One of the primary purposes of an auto carpet and fabric cleaner is to remove stains and odors effectively. Look for a cleaner that explicitly mentions its stain-fighting capabilities, especially if you frequently deal with spills or stains in your car. Additionally, some cleaners come with odor-neutralizing properties, ensuring your car's interior smells fresh and clean after each use.
4: Compatibility with Fabrics
Different cars have various fabric materials, such as nylon, polyester, vinyl, etc. Ensure the cleaner you choose is compatible with your car's interior fabric.
Always check the product label for any fabric restrictions or recommendations from the manufacturer to prevent damage or discoloration.
5: Ease of Use
Tumblr media
An ideal auto carpet and fabric cleaner should be user-friendly and convenient. Consider factors like the size and design of the spray nozzle or applicator and the ease of spreading the cleaner on the surface. A product requiring minimal effort during application will make cleaning more efficient and enjoyable.
6: Drying Time
Quick-drying cleaners are preferable, as they reduce the risk of mold or mildew growth in your car's interior. Avoid products that leave excess moisture, as they can also attract dirt and grime, undoing your cleaning efforts.
7: Residue-Free Cleaning
Choose a cleaner that leaves no residue after use. Residue can attract dirt and make future cleaning more challenging. A residue-free formula ensures a cleaner and long-lasting result.
8: Reviews and Recommendations
Before purchasing, read reviews and seek recommendations from fellow car owners or online forums. Honest feedback from other users can provide valuable insights into a product's effectiveness and performance. Look for cleaners with positive reviews and a good track record of customer satisfaction.
9: Multi-Surface Versatility
If you want a versatile cleaner, consider one that can be used on multiple surfaces in your car, such as carpets, fabric seats, door panels, and more. This can simplify your cleaning routine and help you save money by having one product that serves various purposes.
Conclusion
Choosing the best Car Fabric and Carpet Cleaner is essential for maintaining a clean and inviting interior. Consider the formulation, safe ingredients, stain and odor removal capabilities, compatibility with fabrics, ease of use, drying Time, residue-free cleaning, and reviews before deciding. A well-chosen cleaner will make your cleaning tasks more efficient and contribute to your vehicle's interior's overall comfort and aesthetic appeal.
ᐅᐅ ipad 2017 case with keyboard
ᐅᐅ ipad 2017 case with keyboard On the other hand, there are many divided opinions on the Internet. My own experience shows that glass cleaners always went well. Supposedly, this should attack the display. We offer you a list with short article descriptions, where you can also find your favorites and buy them inexpensively in the selected shop. Most of the time, it can be considerably difficult and tedious to find parts that meet the quality requirements and price expectations. Especially in the food market, where price fluctuations can be extremely moody from one shop to another. Cotton swabs are particularly helpful for the corners. You can also moisten these with soapy water. A cloth dampened with soapy water helps dust cleaning mud review for stains and stuck dirt. First take a photo of the buttons so that you can later easily put them all in their old place. In general, you should make sure that no important inputs, microphones or even cameras are covered with covers. All around, covers and bags offer good protection against dirt, scratches and bumps. Make sure that no liquid drips onto the computer. Moisten a sponge or sponge with the diluted detergent. That's exactly how I've done it so far, but - I think - with rather moderate success. In the case of fingerprints / grease stains, this works in my opinion. not so good.
Finally, open a writing program and press all the keys in order to make sure that no contact was damaged during your cleaning procedure.
With cheap keyboards you have to be careful, however, because the letters are only printed on them and come off with a detergent that is too strong.
> To clean iPod shuffle, disconnect and turn off all cables (slide the switch to the OFF position). Strictly speaking,
is only a placeholder for the headphone and USB input to protect them from dirt when not in use.
Fast SSD storage ensures fast data access - but only in higher-priced models.
What is a TFT?
TFT display. TFT display stands for abbreviation for: Thin-film transistor display, display with thin-film transistor control, was used until about 2010 only for appropriately controlled liquid crystal displays (LCDs).
There is SSD storage with up to 512 gigabytes. Video conferences can be conducted in HD resolution (720p) via webcam. The T450s and T550 series will be available in February and start at $ 1,100 (T450s) and $ 1,000, respectively.
Where is the Dell button located?
The Del key or Delete key deletes the character to the right of the cursor in writing programs. It is also used to delete programs. On German keyboards it is marked with Del, which means remove / delete.
The USS George Washington has water under its keel again. A time-lapse video shows the aircraft carrier leaving the dry dock and docking alongside.
Glass Cleaners- What You Need to Know?
Your automobile's windows may gather debris such as dirt, dust, road filth, tree sap, watermarks, bugs, and bird droppings. Driving safely depends on your ability to maintain a clean windshield and clean auto glass.
Read on to find out how to clean your car's glass and the right products for a sparkling finish.
1: Remove Dust and Grime
To avoid simply rubbing the windshield once the cleaner is applied, start by dusting the windshield with a dry rag to remove any loose pollen and grit, or use a Rubber Care Spray. If you neglect this step, your windows will have a variety of adorable, smeary crop circles made of dirt. You'll need to apply the cleaner and use many rags, resulting in additional laundry to do later.
The result of skipping this step is significantly more labor later on. Also, if the windows of your car are extremely dirty (like, shamefully unclean), you can pre-clean them with a towel dipped in water. Nevertheless, it would help to let them air dry or wipe them with a clean rag before using a commercial cleaning product.
2: The Right Window Cleaner Is the Key
The most effective way to clean your car's windows is to use a commercial glass cleaner designed exclusively for washing auto glass. Most common glass cleaners contain ammonia, which can degrade the rubber seals on your car's windows or harm your lovely tint job.
You can spray the glass cleaner onto the windshield directly now and wipe it clean with a paper towel or microfiber towel, or pour the glass cleaner into a bucket and use a sponge to apply it.
Best to follow the directions on the cleaner's label, especially if it's a concentrated formula and needs to be diluted. If your windows are especially grimy, the bucket and sponge methods may prove more effective. You can finish each window as you go by wiping it down with a clean, dry microfiber cloth once your glass cleaner has air dried, which will eliminate streaks.
3: Spot Clean Those Window Stains
Tumblr media
You can spot clean with various products like Aircraft Glass Cleaner. Especially obstinate stains that somehow withstood your initial cleaning, like bug protein baking for weeks in the sun.
While specific commercial cleaning products are geared towards this chore, you can use basic household products like baking soda or isopropyl alcohol on hard-to-remove window stains.
Also, lay a rag soaked in your cleaning solution on top of the stains for several minutes before trying to wipe off the window again. Another tried and true tip is washing with soapy water. This will banish those streaks, but you must rinse and dry the windows afterward.
4: Side Windows Need Careful Attention
You are moving onto your side windows now. Roll down all windows so far that you can reach the top piece nestled inside the rubber seal on both the inside and the exterior.
Before rolling the windows back up, let the cleaning solution dry naturally or use a microfiber cloth to dry the tops of the windows. Continue spraying and cleaning each window's exterior in a side-to-side or up-and-down motion.
It doesn't matter which way you wipe as long as you remember to wipe the inside of the windows in the other direction. Else, you can use Battery Cleaners to make your vehicle drive well.
