neuvillette
Hesitancy lingers like a translucent mist around Neuvillette. Thick, but also not thick enough to be indiscernible. As centuries tick by, soon enough, that protective mist wanes into nothing but a fragile facade that threatens to vaporise. That outcome is most unfavourable; simply visualising it already causes a spike in distress in his chest.
Fast forward a few 'scenic meetings’ later, Neuvillette wonders where that mist disappeared off to.
He needn’t put up a missing poster with a contact number because, shockingly, the Chief Justice no longer desired that prudential coverage.
You evaporated Neuvillette’s final layer of defence, stripped his rationality with unwavering strength of character, and erased any uneasiness within the language of love.
Throughout your shared timeline, every point marked with a memorable moment, there are many small aspects about each other that only the continuation of time can reveal. It’s as sweet as it sounds, unless, well, the other finds out about something you did try to conceal.
Sometimes you think to yourself: Who knew the Monsieur Neuvillette could be so…earnest in seeing you flustered?
Truly, there are only very few opportunities Neuvillette would starve himself from such delight. The other times, though, they consist of your rose-tinted cheeks and his charmed chuckle, florid promises ending with a trail of marks of his love down the slope of your neck.
Neuvillette is quite the bold one. Far too cheeky for his own good, really.
alhaitham
It was a warm memory. Still as vivid as ever, despite the years that have passed. A golden tattoo, activated whenever the dazzling drops of summer sunshine radiated down.
Three years ago, summer, the Akedemiya.
Heatwaves weren’t a rare occurrence in Sumeru. For weeks on end, the city of wisdom experienced boiling highs and dry, scorching winds. The streets were empty as shopkeepers resorted to staying under the cool of shaded roofs. That was the correct response, the only response to such situations.
Yet, there were still people willing to test your limited patience even more.
“We’re going to get a heatstroke,” you explained to each member of your darshan. “We can postpone the field trip to the desert some other day.”
“But this weather is indefinite, and knowing Sumeru, it is going to last a very long time. We can’t afford to waste time,” someone argued as nods of agreement travelled across the table.
Wow, you huffed to yourself, sitting yourself down. You were doing this for their own good, and partly yours.
“We should go ahead with the trip,” said the agitating, raucous noise again as a cacophony of voices arose in agreement. Maybe he should be in charge, then. As if you wanted to cancel this trip, you’ve spent endless nights planning the perfect itinerary! Also, the last time you remembered, you were appointed leader of this whole excursion.
“Facing the facts, there’s no traces of concrete evidence that our planned area holds the ruins,” you declared as the table fell silent. “Theoretically, we have more to lose than gain.”
“We’ve already decided,” came another voice. Archons, these people were going to be the end of you. “We’re still going to go next week.”
You came to the conclusion that, to knock some sense into their brains, you needed someone more intimating to interfere.
“…You want me to be pretend to collapse from a severe heatstroke?” the (acting!) grand sage repeated, not even attempting to conceal his bewilderment. “And, preferably, making it look as dramatic and exaggerated as possible?”
At the other end of his desk, you nodded with faux solemnity. “I’m afraid so.”
“Afraid so?” Alhaitham humours. “Everything from your…request to your actions betrays that.”
In the end, you didn’t manage to convince Alhaitham to put on a show showcasing the risks and dangers of heatwaves and heatstrokes, but he did agree to go out for lunch. To negotiate alternatives, of course.
After that lunch, he asked for your presence for dinner, and after dinner, you found yourself making breakfast at Alhaitham’s place.
“Since when did you come over so much?” you asked, sleep clearly clinging to your senses. “Last time I remember, I was waiting by your office door waiting to sneak in ten minutes of your time.”
The coffee he freshly brewed threatens to burst from the confinement of his mouth as he stares at you with a curious expression. “This is my house.”
The realisation spreads through your face like ink in water as you glance at the surroundings. “Oh yeah…that’s right.”
Alhaitham subtly rolls his eyes, letting out a lighthearted tsk as he disappears off into the kitchen. “Do you feel like going to Gandharva Ville in the evening?” he asks, the clatter of dishes echoing through the lounge. “You were groaning over how you hadn’t seen Collei and Tighnari in ages a few days ago.”
He remembered that?  You gawk to yourself, mouth and eyes wide open as you trod towards the sunshine of the kitchen . Moreover, he certainly wanted to go. Since when did Alhaitham suggest you leave the house for purposes such as catching up with friends?
“I’d love to,” you answer as you help him load the dishwasher. “You beat me to it.”
A soft smile imperceptibly brightens his face, casting you in slight awe. “What? You don’t think I disregard your desires just like that, do you?”
Alhaitham is the hopelessly romantic one. Those intricate plans he sets up for your happiness are nowhere as simple-minded as he plays them out to be.
diluc
There was always something peculiar about Diluc Ragnvindr. The snarky remarks about the Knights of Favonius’ poor service, which you found highly offensive in the presence of an employee (you), the genuine air of mystery he upheld, but the most interesting thing you were desperate to crack down on was his frosty distaste for the Cavalry Captain, your co-worker, Kaeya.
As far as you knew, Kaeya was a lovely co-worker. considerate, dedicated and reliable, he was an admirable worker. You didn’t understand why Diluc didn’t applaud him for his discipline renowned throughout the city, especially if he was continuously murmuring about the incompetence of the staff.
Amidst the possible explanations, you came to the conclusion that the unwelcoming atmosphere stemmed from something more personal. Jealously? Past disagreements? No, that couldn’t be. They didn’t appear the closest.
Little did you know that all you needed to do was ask. Not really, but you get the idea.
“You…want to talk to Diluc?” Kaeya spluttered, wide-eyed at your determined face, before moving his gaze towards Angel Share’s bartender with a smirk. “Ah, I see what’s going on.”
“You’re very far off, by the way,” you replied silkily, taking a sip of the apple juice. “I’m not interested in him romantically, if that’s what you were thinking.”
Kaeya raises an eyebrow. “If not romantically, then what could you possibly talk to him about?”
You shrug, making a beeline for the counter. “Thanks for the drink.”
Diluc had caught the words, ‘interested in him romantically.’
According to those four words he heard from you, the context of you and Kaeya’s conversation could already be visualised.
For someone who seemed to be interested in him, your choice of words regarding his interest in you were a little all over the place. So, he assisted you.
“How about we discuss this over dinner?”
Sometimes, you think to yourself, how did this ever happen?
For example, the weak beams of lighting from the east signify that it’s the birth of dawn, your neatly tucked in bed, except this bed isn’t actually yours.
The evidence lies with the person’s arms around your waist, tight and warm against the chills of early morning.
“Good morning,” a sleepy voice suddenly erupts from besides you. “Have I told you how even more striking you are in the sunlight?”
Diluc Ragnvindir is the passionate one—the one who would give you his heart if you asked. In some ways, he’s still as mysterious as the first time you laid eyes on him.
xiao
The moon is the muse for thousands of people. Whether it’s written in a rhyme, painted on a canvas, sung in a song or resonated with a soul, it has immersed itself in the complex depths of the sensitive human heart.
There’s a particular interpretation that has stuck with you since the first time you read it. A lyrical piece of literature from somewhere long lost. You were especially tired that night. A most unlucky dilemma, as it might’ve guaranteed to be one of the most critical and serendipitous nights of your life. Not that you knew at the time.
From that somewhere long lost, between the rolling tides of shadows, tucked away in the safety of peaking mountains, a mysterious figure observed with curiousity at your sentiment.
However, the discreetness of Xiao’s hiding spot was tested most instantaneously when you suddenly made a decision to look up. To the sky, or to him? Truthfully, you were actually aiming for the moon, but the pounding chambers of his chest crashed his steaming trains of thought.
He had to restrain himself from investigating further as your figure dissolved one by one into the night. Maybe you'll be there again tomorrow.
What started off as a little exchange of words soon blossomed into short conversations. Short conversations soon bloomed into a gap in time filled with occasional laughter and encouraging smiles. He learned your name, and you learned his secrets. Vicious, woeful secrets plaguing his dreams, or perhaps the title of nightmares suited it better.
On their own, the characteristics were incessant in disaster. Fusing those characteristics with centuries of solitude and emptiness, it assisted in further igniting the raging fire burning away his will.
The idea of somehow unravelling those years of pain seemed so clearly impossible, even if that person felt like they had a chance. Even if they felt just the tiniest bit more special than all the others.
“Some things are impossible,” Xiao had muttered as he watched you go through an assortment of books he lended from Verr Goldet, eyes flickering from your face to the yellowing pages. “It’s better to admit that than spend years searching for hope.”
Skimming through the columns of ancient literature, a strong feeling of suspicion arose as you distinctively felt like he'd seen you do this once before.
“But what if you find the hope?” you whispered gently, switching your attention to his avoidant gaze. “There’s always that outcome, too.”
That outcome. Of course he’s considered that conclusion, wished for it. But Xiao would never dare to believe that far.
“I read a poem a few nights ago,” you started again. “A comparison of us and the moon. Humans, just like the moon, need to wax and wane. We’ll grow and shine our beauty, but that can’t be achieved unless we remember to rest, to wane. After all, a full moon only lasts around three days out of a whole month.”
How can you just return to reading after you told him that?
That moon analogy was shared about a year ago.
It’s likely that you brushed it off, but for Xiao, it’s still freshly etched into the shelves of his mind. And it would be a lie if he said that he didn’t change in small, irrevocable ways because of it.
Particularly tonight.
An exhausted sigh escapes from your lips as you sink into bed. Lying like a starfish, a hollow expression is evident in your eyes alone.
“This project is never going to work,” you spoke, turning to stuff your face in a pillow. Adjacent to you, Xiao observed as you screamed, once again the same words into the fabric. Only this time, the words were separated by sharp heaves and quiet sniffs. Being a little inexperienced with scenarios such as this, Xiao could only reassure you with the same words and actions that you had endlessly showered him with in similar situations.
He knew you were listening, despite the softness of his voice, which was hardly detectable. He repeated the words you told him a year ago when he felt as if the world was about to end.
“Someone once told me humans and moons are alike,” he smiled as he saw your face lift just a bit, as if you couldn’t believe what he was saying. “We both need to wane before we can emit our light in full greatness.”
Xiao is the quiet one, whose love is often under-looked, but in truth, it’s expressed just as vividly, if not brighter.

Communication Chaos
Featuring: Isekei! (Kind of not really.) Reader x Tighnari
TW: none that I am aware of, but please do let me know if I missed any I will gladly update this section.
PT2: Cyno, Wanderer, Alhaitham, Kaveh
INTRO:
You wake up one day sitting on the bed of a small hut-looking building in Gandharva Ville after being found unconscious by the forest ranger known all around as Tighnari. The moment you opened your eyes and met the gaze of the multi-colored-eyed male, you felt a warm tingle of excitement and confusion fill your chest...however the moment he opened his mouth to greet you, your heart dropped into the pit of your stomach.
You can’t understand a single word he just said.
Your excitement and curiosity are what caused him to fall for you, over time, of course.
When you awoke and sat up in the bed he had given you to rest, he walked towards you with a bowl of medicine.
“Are you okay?” He asked, “Any pain from the injuries sustained? I wrapped your forearm in bandages and put together a concoction of medicine utilizing-” He stopped speaking mid-explanation when he noticed you stared at him wide-eyed, mouth open agape, similar signs of someone who hadn’t understood what was being said to them. He took this as a sign that he had to slow down his form of speech, thus he continued with that in mind.
“U-uh...” you interrupted him, using your hands signaling he should stop by waving them around in front of you apprehensively. You weren’t sure what you could possibly say, standing in front of you was THE Tighnari of the video game “Genshin Impact” you played in the comforts of your homeland, yet he seemed to speak none of the languages you were remotely accustomed to hearing. You looked around for any form of a hint of what language he spoke so you could attempt to communicate, however, It was at that moment that you realized it must have been Teyvats natural language by the writing on the pile of papers that sit on the desk next to the bed graciously given to you by Tighnari. He cocked his head to the side and ear twitched, waiting for you to speak as you had stopped him from talking previously.
“I...don’t understand what you’re saying, I’m...sorry...” You trailed off as you noticed Tighnari holding perhaps even a more shocked expression than you at the language difference. He had of course been a graduate of the Akedemiya, a place in which learning many different languages was a must prior to graduation, yet you were there speaking in a language he had never remotely heard of. Coming to terms with this, he nodded slowly before continuing with his previous actions. Taking the bowl of medicine and a wooden spoon, he scooped it up and urged it towards you, inviting you to try it. You hesitated for a moment, looking from the spoon, and up to his gentle gaze before leaning forward to take a bite. He smiled and nodded satisfied with this. Once you had finished the medicine you felt yourself become drowsy, feeling yourself sway slightly as he took the back of your head to lean you back onto the bed. You were soon sleeping soundly once again, not noticing the slight look of worry that was still upon the fennecs features.
Time had passed, your injuries were fully healed. Chalking it up to amnesia, Tighnari had decided to take care of you while you were in an unfamiliar place and unable to communicate where exactly you should have been. He started to teach you a bit about the language in teyvat by simply pointing to things and slowly emphasizing how they were said, and encouraging you to say certain phrases such as “I’m hungry” before giving you food. You were eager to learn, and he began to feel his heart beat slightly faster at every smile, every giggle, and every little phrase you had learned. He tried to convince himself that he had only felt the affection of a teacher for a student, but he couldn’t quite place why you felt different than when he had taught Collei new things.
“By the way, (y/n),” Tighnari said while mixing up a new batch of herbs, “How old are you?” This sentence was a bit more complex, however, you could tell he had used your name (it had taken him some time to properly pronounce it, you had to emphasize the letters frequently and he had to be reminded multiple times how to properly pronounce it), and had some form of a question by the upward connotation he had used. You replied with a light hum and a tilt of your head. He leaned back against the counter and crossed his arms, thinking about how to go about this question, before perking up and rushing outside. You furrowed your eyebrows, looking slightly puzzled at his sudden disappearance. He quickly returned with what looked like an arm full of small rocks, sitting on the ground before arranging them in a manner that was organized with lines of rocks. He then began to point to one rock at a time and say a word each time he pointed, which you could make out to be counting in his language, before pointing to himself once finishing counting the rocks he lay out. You were slightly confused until he did it again and pointed to himself more aggressively to try and get the point across.
“Ohhh! Your age? you’re asking me how old I am?” You asked, smiling brightly and giggling. You noticed his cheeks beam a light shade of pink as you did this, however, you didn’t pay too much attention to the meaning behind it as you started to count back the rocks he had placed in your own native language.
“You’re (his age)? Huh. Well..” You began to rework the rocks to the number of your own age, to which he responded with a smile as he began to count...in YOUR language. He was attempting to repeat the same way you counted, however, he fell apart slightly after getting to the number seven. Your eyes widened, as you realized he hadn’t attempted to speak your language whatsoever since you came before. You stood up, jumping up and down out of joy and giggling slightly. “oh my goodness! Tighnari!” You beamed, running over to him and gently grabbing his hands and shaking them up and down with carefulness. Just another thing he noticed he liked about you, you respected the fact that he seemed to not enjoy loud noises, and always touched him with care and made sure to watch his mannerisms in order not to offend him. You were never too much for him, you had always respected his boundaries even when he could not explicitly state so.
You tried to urge him to get up and move to the other side of the room, where on the wall lay a tapestry he had obtained for you that was covered in different flowers and animals. You then pointed to a butterfly that was sewn into the tapestry, looking at him with the pure excitement of learning and experiencing. He chuckled slightly, gaze looking down at you with pure affection before you both shared your way of saying words such as “butterfly” and “flower.” You were learning each other’s languages together, and he had felt a warm tingling in his heart with every smile, with everything you pointed to, with the way you had been quick to learn something new with an open mind and determination.
His feelings only grew from there, Only solidifying as time spent with you went on and you had taken the time and energy to learn all sorts of things, he had deeply admired the fact you paid close attention to him while he was speaking, even when you hadn’t fully understood the context of his words. He felt as if he could rant to you about anything and everything, no language barrier could break apart the feelings that began to harbor in his heart for the person that had stumbled upon his life and taken time to learn from him, about him, and look at the world with such...beauty, interest, and curiosity. Even though there were times of frustration when neither of you could figure out what was trying to be said, you always seemed to hold your head high and not falter, those moments of annoyance seeming to become fuel for your determination to work through the issues you had with a level head and motivate you to become better than you had been before.
He hadn’t meant to confess so soon, however, the comment seemed to have come out nonchalantly. Even a scholar cannot help but make a fool of himself sometimes when it comes to falling in love, a feeling of which he had not fully convinced himself by the time he admitted it to you. You were helping him take his rounds in the forest, though he made it a point to avoid dangerous withering zones for your sake. He had noticed you stopped following next to him, instead, you had gotten distracted by a specific flower that lay on the ground next to a particularly large tree.
“Sumeru rose,” He said slowly, kneeling next to you. You nodded and looked at the flower with such gentleness, innocence, and love.
“Sumeru rose...I love it,” You said, petting the soft purple petals with your hand. He had heard you use this phrase often when talking about things that lit your face up with joy, such as food he had cooked you, little trinkets he had brought to you to learn from, certain words that you seemed to like...he didn’t need a translation to tell that you were using that phrase to express deep likeliness for something. in a moment of overwhelming love and affection, Tighnari picked up the flower from its stem to remove it from the ground it had to lay in before using his other hand to gently grasp your cheek and turn your gaze towards his own, tucking the purple bloom behind your ear and repeating your phrase,
“I love it.”
He had said this with such gentleness, a slight accent that you found adorable, and with the perfect amount of emotion and overwhelming endearment.
Silence rang between the two of you, your face gradually growing a deep shade of red, standing up in a rush before quickening your pace.
“Yes, oh look, a pretty butterfly!” You tried to take his attention off of yourself by pointing and excitingly ready to learn as usual, as if he hadn’t just confessed something which you were not even certain he meant. You hadn’t noticed that his gaze had not left you, yet you refused to look back and let him see how much you were red-faced and smiling right now.
“L-let’s keep going! come on!” You told Tighnari, not bringing yourself to turn to look at him.
“Ah-!” He stood up with an equal amount of panic, his face also turning a shade of red. He quickly caught up to you, “Are you okay?” He asked in his own language, you had indeed understood this phrase this time around after your time of studying with the forest ranger, however, your answer came out in a rush while trying to deflect the conversation.
Perhaps some more time will grant both of you to finally come to terms with the new idea of “love,” And you could learn to properly communicate this feeling one day in confidence with words, rather than uncertainty.

Furina probably spent her last 500 birthdays throwing a massive extravagant citywide party since it’s considered a public holiday in Fontaine, while Nahida probably spent her last 500 birthdays locked up in the Sanctuary of Surasthana with the Akedemiya neglecting the Sabzeruz Festival because they hate the arts and also that Nahida’s birth + existence to them is first and foremost a reminder of Rukkhadevata’s death than anything else.
The most important thing to note, however, is at the end of the day as they sit by themselves and think about how another birthday has come and gone they both feel deeply alone in the very same way

❝ BIRDS OF A FEATHER... ❞
intro... (you are here) | ch. 1... |
Tumblr media
word count: 1.4k
warnings: kaveh x male reader. reader is kind of stuck up and an asshole I guess? he's also a massive tease so there's that too
prompt: it's not everyday such a face strolls into sumeru, especially when your big day is coming up. when you want an architect to redesign the interior of the venue for your coming of power, kaveh just happens to be unable to keep his trap shut. now, the pride of sumeru is held atop his fingertips. what will he do to keep you significantly pleased..?
notes: everyone is going to be ooc because I can't be bothered to research on how these characters act and bond, so I'm going off whatever is on the top of my head. I don't want to work on my other drafts bc im just not feeling it so here's a series I might work on in the meantime
fem aligned dni
A golden pheasant.
With patterns so elegant and beautiful, anyone would make way for the figure that steps so silently against the rough, grey stones. Unkissable lips are shielded from the eyes of the unworthy, a fan made with golden feathers blocking the lower half of the presence’s face. Li Yue’s treasure, they called this person, rumors saying that they held more value than the Jade Palace itself.
People stared in awe at such an influential figure stalking through the streets of Sumeru, whispering about why they were here in the first place. Such a noble wouldn’t even show their face to the public unless needed to, so why are they here, gracing the commoners with such a sight?
“Make way for the heir! Lower your heads!” One of the Millileth soldiers at your side barks at the citizens of Sumeru, earning a distasteful look from the noble. The soldier shrinks under their gaze, lips pursing in shame for speaking without command.
The fan snaps shut, “Excuse them,” they hiss out in annoyance, “My guards don’t seem to realize that we are in a different country that undergoes a different culture. Not just that but that my status doesn’t matter as much here. Feel free to act as if it is a normal day, do not mind my presence.” The fan spreads once more as you make your way to the Akademiya.
Kaveh can’t help but stare at such a powerful man being within such a close proximity of him, wondering what type of business he had within Sumeru. Surely, it must be really important if he had to show up in person with all his glory. Although he hesitates, Kaveh follows you to the Akedemiya. It wouldn’t seem suspicious because he is a student there but something big must be happening and his curiosity won’t settle until he finds out.
Noticing how majestically you carry yourself despite the dirt beginning to gather at the ends of your coat, Kaveh is nothing short of entranced by how royal you seem. Radiating a gentle yet intimidating persona behind the security of that fan, willing to crush anyone beneath the heel of your boot if someone were to step out of place but also caress the chin of a treasure you desire. Two conflicting faces broken and moulded into one. It makes Kaveh’s eyes close in disgust and his gut to wrench at the idea of getting on your bad side. When his eyes open, he takes notice of the Electro vision that sits on your lower back, hung on a chain that is tight on your waist.
Tearing his gaze away from the vision, the doors to the Akademiya open to reveal his three friends standing there before they kneel almost immediately. It was certainly a sight to behold, seeing Al Haitham being so obedient despite his snappy nature. Kaveh almost dared to laugh before a quick glare from Cyno shut him up and the architect dropped to the floor in respect.
Fan snapping shut once more, you speak, “Please raise your heads, there is no need for such politeness.” You sigh at the end of your sentence, watching as one of your guards gave you a baffled look. Lightning crackled beneath your feet as you glared at the soldier, causing him to yelp and shut up before he could even make another remark.
“My liege,” Al Haitham was the first to rise from the ground, hand still placed over his chest, “Do you have everything you desire for your celebration of the inheritance of your family? List of items desired, location held..?” His voice trails off, letting you list off what you have.
“I have most of what I need.” Your eyes close as if you were in thought, “However, the interior of where I want it held is.. bland. Missing the flare I crave. I would like to hire an architect.”
Maybe Kaveh gets too excited, because the way he chimes up when you mention architecture doesn’t go ignored, “I can help with that!” Your eyes sharply turn towards him and his stomach twists unpleasantly at the pointed stare you give him. In fact, everyone looks at him funny. Now, nervously, he purses his lips and fiddles with his thumbs, “W-well, that is if you’ll let me.. um, all I would need to know is the aesthetic you’d like and the budget..” He mutters sheepishly.
“Golden academia, ten million mora. The gold doesn’t have to be real, just believable.” You answer him with a ‘fwip!’ of your fan, flowing air through your face and the locks of your hair, “Any leftover funds in your hands by the time you’re finished you may keep as a tip.”
Kaveh perks up in surprise, sputtering an, “Of course!” nerves now on fire just from how much the money loosens restrictions, “Um, do you mind showing me the building so I could get started on thinking up something?”
He thinks that you hid the amused smile poorly because from behind the fan, he could make out the slight quirk of your lips and the nearly unnoticeable squint of your eyes. Heart nearly jumping out of his chest, you turn to fully face him, “Tomorrow, little bird of paradise.” A hand shuffles to pull a scroll from your pocket, handing it over to Al Haitham, “This is the rest of the stuff I need. I’ll throw in extra money for your help.”
The scribe opens its seal, skims it over, and gives you a nod. You smile in return and turn around, closing your fan as you head towards the exit. Nothing, however, prepares Kaveh for the way the end of your fan brushes against his jawline with that pointed stare and subtle smirk you wear as your step towards the door. His face flushes a hundred times more red when you whisper, “8 am, Avidya Forest. Try not to be late.”
The architect gulps in anticipation, letting go of the breath he hadn’t realized he’s been holding the second your fan no longer touches his skin. The doors shut behind your figure and the lobby of the Akademiya is eerily silent, an occasional shuffle coming from some random scholar's feet from across the hall.
After the momentary silence, Tighnari huffed out, causing Kaveh to blush embarrassingly at the words the forest ranger scoffs, “He’s so trying to get into your pants.”
“What were you thinking!?” Al Haitham seethes at Kaveh while pacing around in the living room, the latter’s hands digging into his hair. The two of them have gotten into many petty arguments but Kaveh thinks that this is the first time Al Haitham’s been truly infuriated with him. It’s heavily uncharacteristic of him but Kaveh knows that his anger is not misplaced.
“I don’t know!” Kaveh whines, burying his face into his hands after he pulls them away from his scalp, “I can’t tell if it was just the heat of the moment or the opportunity of working with Li Yue’s Treasure but I was talking before I even realized!”
“Kaveh,” Al Haitham growls, planting his hands on the table that sits in front of the couch, glaring at the blond, “if you fuck this up, you’ll destroy the pride Sumeru carries.” The said man peeks at his roommate through his fingers, “Li Yue’s Treasure is an influential man that holds so much power because of his inheritance. If one bad review comes from someone like him and it manages to be overheard, that business might as well just close down because their income will be tarnished, alongside their reputation. The whole country might as well just perish.”
His heart sinks in despair from how much pressure was suddenly placed on his shoulders. The nagging voices of his previous clients were enough to drive him crazy but you? Oh, boy. Kaveh’s not sure what to do with himself. He should shut his mouth permanently with stitches for any future events that may cause him to speak out. Deep down, the architect hopes you aren’t very picky or impatient, if those two were put together he’s sure he’d be dead before he even knows it.
“I’ll..” Kaveh sighs, carding his fingers through his bangs, “I’ll think of something, I swear.” When it spills from his lips, it sounds more like words to reassure himself. Kaveh doesn’t want to dig himself deeper into the dirt than he already has.

Tighnari shifted his weight to his other leg, trying to focus himself on his work at hand. A dark cloud had been looming over his mind all day. It had obscured his path to understanding the recent outbreak of withering zones all across the forest; he seemed to have hit a roadblock in what to anticipate in coming weeks. Some information from forest logs pointed to the archon’s situation, and other clues pointed to misconduct of both Akedemiya researchers and bands of Eremites. Still others seemed to lead him somewhere deeper, somewhere within the very Ley Lines of Teyvat. But there was more that was bothering him today which he could not lay his finger on.
“General Watchleader, sir!”
He looked up to see a Forest Watcher at his doorway.
“Come quick,” she said. “Something’s happened to this morning’s patrol squad.”
Tighnari wasted no time following her to the infirmary hut, where but one Forest Watcher was lying wounded on one of the beds. It was indeed one of the Rangers that had been sent out this morning, along with you and two others, who he did not see now.
“Kamran, what happened?”
The poor man clutched his bleeding side, which was dressed mildly with a makeshift bandage from his scarf. Tighnari gently removed this to treat the Ranger’s wound, listening to his tale.
“Eremites, General Watchleader. We were ambushed, and they—they had no mercy. The two others died, sir, and our patrol chief told me to get out of there. I made it out by the hair on my neck. Or rather, my side—yahhh!” Kamran yelped as Tighnari applied an ointment along the edge of the wound.
“Sit still, Kamran.” Tighanari tried to steady his hands. He’d elected you chief of this patrol—and so, it was his fault if you were dead. He might not ever forgive himself for this. He should have sent stronger defense along. He should have seen this coming.
Damn, he might have lost you, now, and might never get the chance to tell you what you meant to him.
He tightened a liquid bandage over Kamran’s wound. “Tell me, Ranger: where did this occur?”
<*+`,.>
Tighnari’s boots were laden with mud by the time he and two others had reached the reported location. Rain was falling hard, emphasizing his growing dread and causing his ears to fold back. Finding nothing initially, one of the other Forest Rangers suggested they split up.
“Hold that thought, Ranger,” he said, kneeling at the sign of discolored mud. On closer inspection, he realized: “Blood.”
None of them could locate directional footprints near this point, but there was a clear indication of a fight, one that ended quickly. The three swept the riverbank for more clues with no luck. But upon a tree Tighnari noted a fresh gash around half of its trunk. It looked like one your knives might have made it, though it was higher than you would have naturally reached.
Perhaps you had been carried. Perhaps they kept you alive.
“We go West,” Tighnari declared. “Iraj, take the Southernmost route! Shirin, you take the Northernmost one!”
“Sir,” they nodded, gathering in front of him.
“Don’t stand there. Lives still may be saved today!”
And off they ran, all three praying he would be right.
Tighnari was relieved when he found another fresh cut in a tree several paces West, indicative of your survival past the ambush. He later found the ground to be firmer, and the marks of several footprints created a reliable trail. Now he had a feeling he was drawing closer—but at the same time, a feeling he might still be too late.
The discovery of one of your blades in the dirt a bit further along concurred.
It had occurred to him quite soon after Kamran’s arrival that this may be a trap for Tighnari. The Forest Rangers of Gandharva Ville had had a rocky relationship with Eremites, and being known as the leader placed a target on his back. However, he feared more the blood of the Rangers on his hands than any of the enemies of the forest he may face. He had no doubt now that it was a trap, but knowing it served him very little. He’d sent the others further away so that they might not have to get involved; he only hoped they hadn’t come near enough to locate the camp.
Only then did he hear distant chatter. It sounded like Eremites, no doubt, and additionally, the whining tone of Treasure Hoarders. As he approached the camp, he quieted his paces and kept to the shadows, eyes peeled to the men and women around the wet firepit with their weapons at the ready.
Tighnari crept around the outskirts of the camp, far enough away that any rustle in the trees would be indistinguishable from the storm. He spied you, soon enough, sitting in a crude wooden cage similar to ones he’d seen at other Treasure Hoarder camps before. Guilt sank his heart to his stomach. He would get you out of this mess, no matter what.
Tighnari aimed his bow at the back of the Eremite guarding your cage, considering. If he alerted the camp of his presence, he would have to face all of them at once. If he lured some away, however…
He pointed and shot his arrow to the trees near the path, and watched a few shout and scramble over in that direction. He snickered to himself. Knuckleheads.
Back at the camp, he could just make out you standing in your cage, peering over in that same direction. He refocused, noticing how muddy your face and back were.
There would be no easy way to save you, he knew. But hesitating would make things harder, and so he crept closer to the camp. The mud was slippery and thick here, gathering a slight stream downhill. If he had sprinted for you, he would have wiped out and given himself away.
Ah. That would work.
Tighnari at last sent an arrow at the Eremite leaning on your cage, and she staggered to her feet, whirling around. “He’s there!” she shouted shrilly, and soon, a larger portion of the camp was racing towards him. He simply jogged a few steps away, turned, and readied his weapon.
Sure enough, each Treasure Hoarder and Eremite that ran close enough slid on their heel and landed on their ass. Defeating them with a few well aimed shots was no problem. A cryo-thrower tossed a solution from further away, and Tighnari just managed to dive out of the way. Gathering his elemental energy, he sent three shots at the foe and made a dash for the camp.
“Welcome, Tree-Hugger. Eat this.” A kick from an undetected Eremite struck him clean across the face and he stumbled backwards.
“My,” he said, simply. “No need to play dirty.”
“You don’t know when to drop the act, do you?” the Eremite said. She slashed her dual hydro-blades at her, and just barely missed his chest as he dodged. “You’re dead.”
He dodged another attack. He wouldn’t be able to defeat her from this close a range. He’d been hoping to emancipate you before dealing with the rest, but it seemed he had no choice.
Or, at least, that’s what he was thinking, until the Clearwater grunted and froze in place, before crumbling to her knees.
He noticed the handle of a blade stuck deep into her shoulder. Not just any blade. Your blade.
“C’mon, ‘Nari, get me out of here before I scream. They’re awfully loud bastards.”
He chuckled, noticing you watching him from the cage. Truly an ineffective sport and ineffective piece of technology, trapping someone without taking away their weapons in such a wide-barred, single-person cage. He wondered if you might have shimmied out between the wood had you not been surrounded by Treasure Hoarders.
“Alright, alright. Be patient, Patrol Chief.”
You groaned as he went to make work of the lock. “You can’t be serious. You don’t even have the key.”
“I can pick locks,” he said matter of factly, “you know.”
You chuckled. “Yeah, well, I can do this—” He halted as you wrapped your hands around two parallel wooden beams and pulled them apart, successfully snapping them and opening yourself your own doorway out. You tossed the splintered beams to the ground and dusted off your hands.
“You could have done that before I got here and saved me the trouble,” Tighnari quipped, watching you step out. “Now, then, I do apologize you landed in this mess all because—”
“It’s not your fault, Tighnari. I can be responsible for my own ass sometimes.”
Tighnari curled his lips unashamedly.
“Don’t respond to that,” you said, trudging over to the female Eremite to draw your knife out of her shoulder. You wiped the blood off with the inner elbow of your sleeve, peering into the sky. “So, how’d you find out what happened?”
Tighnari followed you, checking you over for injuries. “Kamran stumbled into camp and I was alerted,” he said, and then deemed you to be in one shape and acquiesced to your resistance.
“That coward.” You huffed and shook your head. “I don’t know what he told you, but he ran off almost immediately. And he was supposed to be our combat support. Our analyst didn’t make it.”
“Not your fault.”
“It ain’t yours either, ‘Nari. Eremites can just be ruthless. I knew they wanted you, but I was hoping Kamran wouldn’t be able to find the way back so that I could handle it myself.”
“Patrol Chief, you were still in your cage when I made it here,” he said. “I don’t think it was going as well as you claim it was.”
The Clearwater Eremite groaned, writhing on the ground. Tighnari gave her a good kick in the side. You raised your eyebrows at him. “I was just waiting for the sun to come out. It seemed awfully inconvenient to deal with the situation in the pouring rain.” You pointed into the sky. “A bit of sun’s coming out now. I would have gotten out by now with or without your help.”
“No ‘thank you’?”
You shook your head. “Nope. Not when you put yourself in danger like that.”
Tighnari shook his ears with a resigned sigh. “Well, at least it’s all over now.”
“Not yet it ain’t,” a voice boomed. The two of you whirled around to see a burly Eremite clomping into the camp. Tighnari did not recognize him from the ones he dealt with earlier. He was larger, more handsomely clothed, and angrier. “I’ve been waiting for this day.”
“Of course you have,” Tighnari muttered.
“You should be more afraid, tree hugger,” demanded the Eremite.
“No need,” he replied, readying his bow unwaveringly.
The Eremite laughed heartily and drew a long, narrow blade, eyeing both of you with evident bloodlust. You clasped the hilt of your dagger in your belt, but Tighnari raised an arm in front of you.
“Fight me all you want, but leave them out of this.” At this you started to protest but a severe look from Tighnari silenced you at once.
“Someone’s protective of his pet,” the Eremite responded. He stepped closer, dragging the tip of his blade in the mud. “Seems we were right.”
Tighnari’s face was dark. You were grateful not to be on the receiving end of that look. “You Eremites wish you had any kind of sense. Luring me here was a mistake.”
He fired an arrow at the man’s chest, knocking him back and angering him further. You stepped out of the way as Tighnari had instructed you, watching him dive towards the edge of the camp to avoid a swipe of the Eremite’s blade. You wanted to help, but you didn’t want to complicate things.
Tighnari shouted, tossing a Dendro bomb at the Eremite’s feet. He stumbled back—only to charge at Tighnari with greater force. You could just barely hear him swearing under the thundering rain, dodging the blade again. It went on for several minutes; you watched with great interest, only bothered by the fact that you weren’t part of it. It seemed that the General Watchleader was attempting to exhaust the roaring Eremite, but it was taking a while. Both Tighnari and the Eremite’s movements were becoming sloppier. The Eremite showed no sign of letting up, however; he looked like he’d been waiting for this his whole life.
In a moment that seemed to last several seconds, you saw Tighnari’s foot slip a little in the grass, causing him to stumble a little. You did not hesitate to reach your arm back and fling your dagger at the Eremite.
It sunk into his back a moment too late—the Eremite had landed a deadly strike on Tighnari.
Tighnari fell to his knees as the Eremite crumpled into the grass, groaning.
“Damn it, Tighnari!” you ran over to your leader, kneeling next to him.
“My love…” He fought to keep his eyes open. “I apologize. I thought I could—” He cut himself off, holding one hand to his mouth to cough hard. His other hand was clutching his chest. Blood came from both locations.
“‘Nari,” you whispered.
Neither of you had the time to process the use of such a term between you. You could feel his shoulders in your hands, tremble and falter. Your heart stopped as he fell forward into your arms. Your thoughts blurred as you ripped the Eremite’s scarf from his neck and tied it around his chest, trying to hold enough pressure to his collarbone to stop the bleeding. Once you were satisfied with the tautness, you took a full, deep breath, dragged him to a standing position by his armpits, and pulled him onto your back.
“Shit. You’re heavy, asshole,” you breathed. It was going to be a long walk back to Gandharva Ville. And you were not going to think about him calling you his “love.”
<*+`,.>
Tighnari came to in a very comfortable bed with a very uncomfortable pain in his chest. He could barely breathe. It was like he’d been stabbed in the lungs.
Oh. He had been. The events of the Eremite camp sharpened in his memory. He’d been trying to lead the Eremite far enough from you that you could escape. But he didn’t remember anything after being stabbed. Where were you?
His vision was peppered with dots but he forced them to focus. He was in the infirmary, no doubt. But whoever had treated his injury had done an egregious job, and he did not attempt any movement. His mouth tasted like iron. Like blood.
Tighnari heard a fuss across the room and footsteps ran into his direction. You leaned over him with evident worry. And red eyes.
“You’re awake,” you said with a tense sigh.
“No shit.”
You stared at him. Your face, previously clouded in misgiving, reconfigured to a relieved smile. “You’re quite awake,” you said.
“Haven’t you got,” he said, taking short breaths between words, “anything else to say?”
“Yeah. You’re awake thanks to me.”
He opened his mouth to voice a retort, but his throat clenched and he turned his head to cough. “I should have given you… lessons… on how to treat a chest wound.”
“I figured it out myself.”
He tilted his face back to look you in the eyes. “Barely.”
“I’m sorry, ‘Nari,” you said. “But at the same time, you could have been dead. You could have been dead because you didn’t let me help.” Tighnari noticed a tear escape your eye, which you wiped away immediately with the heel of your palm. “Asshole,” you added as an affable afterthought.
Tighnari studied your face, feeling emotions threaten his own expression. He wiggled his fingers, testing the pain. Satisfied that it was bearable, he reached up to your collar and pulled you towards him.
“Thank you,” he whispered into your ear, “for saving me. You did well.”
You seemed to hesitate. Then, ever-so-gently, you rested your head next to his and placed a careful hand on his shoulder. You were warm, and he didn’t know you were capable of such tender affection.
As you stood up straight again, you flicked his forehead with all your might.
He gasped, and then howled as his hand involuntary jerking up to his head caused his chest to strain and ache. “Ow! That was unnecessary!”
“You’re welcome, Tighnari,” you announced with your back to him. He did not fail to notice the redness of your ears.
He clicked his tongue. “You used the wrong ointment on my wound, Patrol Chief.” He took a deep breath, wincing again. “Is this Padisarah itching cream?”
You scoffed. “You can treat your wounds yourself from now on.” With that, you marched through the door of the hut, leaving Tighnari quite immobile on the bed.
He allowed himself a small smile. Alas, neither of you were dead. And something told him he would get the chance to tell you what you meant to him.

The Creator playing favorites with a character who isn't somehow important.
I mean no Knights, no members of the Qixing or Adepti, no one heavily associated with Yashiro or Tenryou Commissions, no Akedemiya staff.
I'm talking like.... Xinyan, Razor, Kuki, Layla, Qiqi, Baizhu, and Candace.
Imagine Archons getting passed up for this... Weird little wolf boy. Or this sleep deprived student.
Imagine your more "important" acolytes coming to see you at your welcoming ceremony. Ayato and Ayaka coming to greet you, only for you to be seemingly waiting for something, immediately summoning Ei to bring you Kuki Shinobu who you just spotted in the crowd all while the Kamisatos are frozen in shock.
Venti whines as you spend all your time in Wolvendom with Razor, and though Diluc would rather die than admit it, he also wishes that just once you'd come to Dawn Winery.
Zhongli just happening to appear at Bubu Pharmacy while you're there talking with Baizhu, Qiqi sitting on your lap. Suddenly it is greatly tempting to reclaim his title of Geo Archon. Maybe then you'd pay him some more attention.
(Hu Tao bursting into the room and demanding to know why you won't visit her like this, she wants to sit in your lap too!!!

If you're still taking requests can I ask for one?
Al-haitham or Diluc snaping on the reader, someone has been sabotaging their investigations + missions and putting the blame on the reader without them noticing. Eventually all comes crashing down and finally they take it out on the reader who was innocent all this time.
When the truth comes out and the one who sabotage their work is arrested, the damage was already done. They just broke the reader with those awful words.
Gender neutral reader, angst with no comfort at the end. Doing this with Alhaitham bc I want to hurt him even more lol.
--
Alhaitham realised that, at the start of his plan, someone seemed to take the pieces of evidence he needed to fully convict one of the Sages kept disappearing. No matter how he hid them, it kept being taken away. At first he couldn't figure out who could have possibly had the time to do this, nor the motive, until he started to think of something he didn't wish to.
Your father was the Sage in question.
You were close enough to Alhaitham to know about his routine, any changes, and you had the opportunity to tweak things to work your way so you could stop your boyfriend from convicting your father of his wrongdoings. He didn't want to think of the possibility of you being responsible for this, but there were no other leads as to who could be doing this.
When he confronts you with his evidence that you were taking any leads he found, you were rather offended.
"I wouldn't do that!" You retort, taken aback by the accusation.
"Just give me the evidence you've taken, and I won't take action against you." Alhaitham sighs out, you looking at him with concern. "If you insist on covering for your father, I'm sorry to say you'll be prosecuted."
"With what proof?" You groan out, Alhaitham staring through you. "You don't have any proof that I've had anything to do with this. I wouldn't dare cover for my father, and if he did turn out to be a bad guy I wouldn't try and hide evidence."
"Cyno, you may carry out your work." Alhaitham states coldly, walking past you as the General Mahamatra walks in, apprehending you and taking you to a holding cell.
--
Turns out, Alhaitham's hypothesis was incorrect.
A month had passed, and Alhaitham had forgotten about you. He figured you must have done it, the evidence magically not leaving the spots they were held in. This relief, unfortunately, was short lived.
The evidence, suddenly, all left. Not a single scrap was left. You were still in your holding cell, getting used to the solitude as you waited for your sentencing. Cyno didn't take any sides, the lack of evidence proving neither side to be the correct one.
You get informed that this will be put onto your criminal record permanently, Alhaitham's ordeers, and you knew this would be the end of your career. Of course, your father never came to your cell, and you slowly started to realise that Alhaitham must have had a hunch about your father being a bad apple in the Akedemiya.
Alhaitham managed to discover who had taken the evidence - a group of eremites recruited by your father to take away any evidence that he was a bad man, for a hefty sum of money. After the arrest, he only remembered you when he escorted the eremites responsible for the crime to their holding cells, Cyno opening the cell doors to lock them up before swiftly releasing you for the crime you were wrongly accused of.
You didn't even want to turn to look at your ex. While you never really broke up with words, his actions led to the end of this relationship of yours. He had ruined your professional life by being so adamant it was you who had taken that evidence, and you knew him well enough that he would look at you as if it was your fault.
Alhaitham knew he couldn't fix what he had caused, watching you leave without looking back once. While he wanted to call out to you, to tell you he realised he was wrong and he would be happy to support you by letting you life rent free in his house, he knew you couldn't keep living in Sumeru with people thinking you attempted to cover for your father. You had to deal with the fact your father was not a good Sage, and he had abused his positions. You and Alhaitham both knew you would be lucky if you found work anywhere with that on your record, and Alhaitham only had himself to blame for jumping to his first conclusion with no proof backing him up.

Before you two go on another outing, 'Hat guy' reluctantly asked nahida for help on another one of his gifts to give you...
"Remember hat guy! if anything happens ring the safety bell, okay? And keep in touch while im at vanarana. I want to make sure you two have an awesome time!" The small archon tippy toed, while 'hatguy' leaned down as she tied the trinket to his feathered ornament. "Tsk- Buer, im far from a child. I dont need anyone to hold my hand like one." Nahida looked up at the puppet, "Really? you never mind ms Y/N holding your hand though." He diverted his gaze and mumbled to himself. "See? I knew you'd like it. Oh right! your gift!"
Hat guy fixed his posture, "Here! Make sure you give this to ms y/n." In her hand was a book of photos she put together for him with little stickers of slimes and aranara with smiley faces, handing it to hatguy as he took his time with each page and noticing the many 'new' pictures, some being ones he didn't give to the lessor lord. "Your a stalker now too? I guess reading minds isnt enough for you." Ignoring his comment buer took out another book. One titled 'Nahida's sumeru travel guide' with a cover drawing of a purple cat barely paying attention to the light green cat. "Do you have to insist on making everything look like a coloring book..." Nahida didnt reply, mearling looking away and humming a tune similar to the aranara while he began his walk to the park.
Whenever you two would hang out together it was in the library within the akedemiya or anywhere he chose. Sometimes as you held his hand walking through the peaceful park your mind would fill the silence in the worst ways possible as he stared at your now frowning expression. "I dont know Kuni, is the akedemiya even worth it anymore? Theirs people smarter than me there anyway." Kuni stopped in his tracks. "But isnt the whole point of the akedemiya just to major in a 'hobby' you like?." he raised an eyebrow. "Well..i guess..but..Theirs obviously people better than me at it." "Id disagree. Besides their Irrelevant. Shouldn't you just do it and have fun. Huh.. I thought thats what hobby's we're. Something for idle bodies to enjoy." You sighed at his response and sat on the bench. "Its not that simple kuni, I have to get a job and- my family what if i have to provide for them too. Ontop of that there really unfair. Why am i putting my heart into this just for it to be a flop." 'A flop?' At your wording he was brought back to his association with the kaedehara clan. Every now and then he'd overhear niwa talking with others over its upending struggles due to the rise of his mothers sword art. Spreading around inazuma like wildfire and Leaving the clan to struggle in its contribution to the arts. But only in a matter of time kuni was able to 'eat' and drink his favorite tea with them in celebration of their success. We're all the struggles just the divine tricks to see who is worthy? was a god playing tricks on you? 'It couldnt be like that..' Kuni put his gift on the bench, and held your hand while sitting with you
"Maybe im overthinking kuni..I-i just dont know.." It pained him to just look at you like this. Tired. Just so tired mentally and physically, tears dreaning down your eyes as you measly sat on the bench. You began to get up, Remembering your responsibilities. "Its fine kuni, you know- maybe I just need some rest! at home!" 'she said that before' He held your hand, uncomfortably tight. His mind always thought to the worst and he never wanted to loose you because of it. Often getting angry at himself for assuming you'd do such a thing..or likewise to what he did. But this time, He just couldnt let go. Was he scared? As much as you implied, you'd never do such things It always rang in the back of his mechanical ears. If only he was still a harbinger, He would've did everything in his power more then he could now to get you the stable income or whatever humans would need in any region or place in teyvat you wanted. Just say the word and he would've done it regardless of her 'excellency' but he couldnt now, all he could do was use this 'curse' which he called emotions to help understand you. "Kuni-...Please let me go....Im alright." you sniffled. He immediately noticed your change in tone. It was soothing just how you always talked to him yet he still felt wary.
With a few more tugs it felt as if his grip only tighter the more you tugged. In defeat, you brokenly sighed and sat back next to the puppet. A part of him was irked at your own confusion. But he never once regretted trying to comfort you through it when, and when you didnt ask. Even awaiting you at your home before you messaged him. It felt as if you sat in the park for hours within cold silence as your throat and chest burned trying making out words but every attempt was cut off by insecurity.
You always knew he loved you, but even your black and white reality began looking different colors. You shuttered while looked at him again, meeting eyes and Surprised that his hat was off. Resting on the bench's crook. "How about..I join the akademiya with you?" you let go of his soft hand, beginning to wipe your eyes until he pulled a green cloth with flowers printed on it out his pants pocket, Damping away your tears as you subtly smiled and sniffled. "I never knew you we're into cute things like this kuni." 'cute?' "Well. You can always rely on this..unique archon of yours to make her presence." you didnt ask any further. "Why do you want to join the akademiya?" "Isnt it obvious? to be with you. and for buer to stop annoying me." he mumbled the last part. "But you dont even have a major or-" "The archives of inazuma can use a rework. I find it ironic how beelz- the raiden shogun is portrayed as some. Beneveloent god, that pursuits eternity." He smirked, Writing a thesis might be one of the most indirect ways he could show up his mother but that had to wait.
You we're more important, and always have been since you entered his life. Kuni noticed his gift. "Oh yeah. Here." he handed you the bag. "Whats in it. More bitter tea for me to try?" he blushed at your answer. "Just open it." you smiled at him again and looked at the pictures in the book. Trying to hold back a laugh at the picture of nahida whacking him uptop his head for god knows what. He looked at the picture, intrigued on why you we're laughing. 'buer you had one fucking job-' then back at you again. "No need to thank me- i-" cutting him off, you kissed kuni on his cheek "I love it kuni." 'his skin is so soft~' you thought. "Then I guess I should thank you too." The puppet shifted closer to you moving the book back in the bag and out of your view behind him. "W-wait kuni- not here we're in a park!" he sucked his teeth and still moved closer to you, sinking his face into your neck as you leaned back "And? thats even better, every person here can know how important you are to me. Got a problem with that?." He began tugging at the buttons on your shirt "Or..Does my baby want to continue this at home? I'll let you choose this time."
----
You fumbled with the keys as you locked the door behind you. Kuni was already tugging onto you. Biting and leaving petals of kisses along your neck. "K-kuni~ slow down.." you moaned. "Shit..Love it when you say my name too. This beautiful body is all mine." you turned around to face him, being greeted by his kimono barely hanging onto his shoulders to cover his lean form behind his turtleneck. "Your staring again…Like what you see y/n? Its all for you." He picked you up, bringing you to your bedroom littered in papers, pens and books on your desk. "huh. Do all scholars have a messy room like this?" He chuckled. "S-shut up.."
Kuni laid you onto the bed, observing your body before trailing his hands down to your pants. Letting out a groan. "God. Your fucking beautiful. How dare you treat yourself like this." He slowly tugged your clothes off. Then rubbed his hands along your thighs, spreading your legs and revealing your wet slit. "You want it gentle baby?" you nodded. Sinking his head inbetween your legs, he began licking on your bud. "Kuni~" "Shh…Relax..for me pet." your thighs twitched at the name. "Oh? you like being called that too…ill- mmm~ remember that" he sunk his tongue inside of you, moaning into you incoherent praise. "f-fuck..you- mmm taste- s' good." you rubbed your hand through his hair. Pressing him farther onto you. Usually you didnt take the lead or have him bottomed out for you like this. But it was your special night, as many we're yours to come. Kuni didnt want to stop for celestia itself to make sure you felt loved just as you made him feel. "Wahnt me to stop baby- you- ah..i know you like it." "N-no kuni~ please dont stop." you said while pressing your thighs closer against his head. "Hah..How about my fingers, want that too?" Kuni licked at his fingers after pulling away from your wet hole with a gasp for air. "Yes master~" his cock twitched in his pants. He knew you wanted it slow but god the urge to take you right then and there. He inserted two of his fingers as your walls clenched, slowly shifting in rhythm of his fingers. "Arent you eager hmm? Already want me inside dont you? Thought you wanted me to be gentle." He smiled, Thrusting his digits faster inside you. "K-kuni!! please.. I- ah..hah.." "Yes baby? what does my good girl want." kuni leaned down to you, wanting to hear your delicious moans. "Inside..Please..want you inside~" "Hah..Theres my pet." The two of you switched positions. Kuni laying his lean body on your bed as you climbed ontop of him, slowly sinking him inside you.
"K-kuni..your so big," "And hah..your so warm..oh shit~." You began moving, bouncing up and down on kuni's length. "Oh god baby..L-look at you, bouncing on master so ah-well.." His praise filled your ears, making your body heat up. You two interlocked hands as you both chased your highs. The sound of skin slapping and your wet moans echo'd around the room. "Yes..Yes y/n- fuck yes. I L- ah.. Love you so fucking much, dont stop. dont stop." He squeezed onto your hand, eyes slightly glowing from his pre sloshing up and down inside you. "Kuni~ m' close..Im gonna- i-" "Thats it- just like that- cum for me~ let me hear those beautiful moans-" From his bittersweet praise you came onto his length, squeezing his hand 'tightly' as he soon came after you, Painting your walls with his warm seed. You collapsed onto his chest, Still inside him and coming down from your high. His chest wasn't rising up and down.. which creeped you out a little but you didnt mind.
The two of you laid in the bed. Mumbling every now and then about earlier as he stroked your hair. "I dont expect you to get well instantly y/n. Thats not how things work." "Yeah..Then i guess id be like some sort of puppet right?" you chuckled while trailing your hand along his chest. "Right.." kuni laid his head back. "What im saying is that you have to try at your own pace to get better. Regardless of everyone, its your life you have to live. And i..hate seeing you dwelling here when I know there's someee things your good at. If you get discouraged, I'll be there for you." "And if your not..?" he sighed at your reply. "That'll be rare. Then Call me and we'll go for another walk if you want. Im sure that childish archon has plenty ideas too."(He thought back to the bell). Some of his advice was stuff you've already heard. Even though it is easier said then done your heart warmed at his ideals. He even wanted to get in the akedemiya just for you, he was willing to do so much. Even if you felt better for a day or made the smallest progress Kuni would be proud.
Thank you for reading and I wish you the best :)

a/n: i wrote this on a whim and because my friends and i were down bad. i hope you guys enjoy!!
pairings: cyno x fem!reader
warnings: canonverse, slight spoilers to 3.0 archon quest, nsfw, smut, power dynamic (cyno is the mahamatra and reader works under him), roughish sex, use of pet names (baby, princess), creampie, fluff at the end.
synopsis: you and cyno had been seeing each other for quite a while. you knew fucking him was quite the risk to take, but neither of you could stop yourselves from sneaking off at random hours of the night for pleasure.
uncontainable desires ft. cyno
Tumblr media
Your relationship with the General Mahamatra was anything but professional. Not a single person was aware of what you and Cyno did after hours, but it wasn’t like it was their business to know what you two engaged in during that time.
On this particular occasion, you and Cyno were craving each other more than you would like to admit. He practically spent the entire day making sure to subtly tease you. He wanted you to know that he wanted you and it wasn’t exactly a secret. Cyno would briefly brush his fingers over the bare parts of your skin, leaving tingles to trickle around on your flesh. He even went as far as getting a little too close to you when you were around your other companions. If he wasn’t careful, someone would have noticed, but no one would ever object to such a thing.
Cyno scared the shit out of people. Eremites and members of the Akedemiya feared him more than any monster on Teyvat. If someone had noticed they definitely wouldn’t have said a word, so it’s not like he was worried about his actions towards you. No one had the balls to walk up and question him.
Still, despite that you wanted to remain secretive. He was your higher up. You didn’t want someone to become suspicious and possibly remove you from his grasp. That’s the very last thing you wanted and Cyno was well aware of that. Yet, somehow, he always found the time to test the waters. It’s almost like he wanted you two to get caught and have your little relationship exposed to everyone. It was strange, but you always insisted to the man that you didn’t want your secrets to be public knowledge.
How would the people of Sumeru react to finding out their General was balls deep in his subordinate?
It was supposed to be quick. You wanted it that way, anyway. You were lying in your bed in the middle of the night trying to get some type of sleep for the next day, but your body was betraying you. You had this building desire in your gut that needed to be freed, and you honestly didn’t want to waste time using your hands. You also had another person sleeping beside you in another bed. It wouldn’t be the same if you were in the company of your roommate. With that, you decided to sneak out and see the one person who would be able to fulfill every desire you had.
Cyno.
You knew full well he would be awake. He had so many responsibilities and things on his mind that it was difficult for him to get any type of shut eye, so when he felt your presence outside of his door, he knew what he was getting into.
Sex with Cyno was always so euphoric. He knew your body better than anybody else and he was almost like a god in bed. He knew where to touch, squeeze, kiss, lick to get those moans coming from your lips. That’s why it was so hard to stop fucking him. You would always tell yourself that it would be one more time, but those were clearly lies whenever he had his cock buried inside your pussy. You could just never get enough of the General Mahamatra.
Right now, Cyno had you sitting on his lap. Both of your thighs were on either side of him. His cock was bullying your walls, making your vision see stars whenever the tip kissed at your g-spot. It was somewhat humid inside of his room, earning several sweat beads to drip down his forehead. He honestly could care less. All he wanted was you. “Fuck.. you’re so good for me, baby.” his hands explored your waist and your hips, gripping the skin tightly.
You were holding onto his shoulders for some kind of support. His eyes that were like fresh oranges were boring into your desperate ones. He was driving you crazy. “Ah, Cyno! ‘M close!” you whined, letting your head fall backwards from the pleasure that rushed throughout your body.
Cyno already knew you were gonna cum. He could read your body like a book he’s read over and over. Your body language said it all. Your cunt was gripping him like a vice and he heard your moans raise an octave. He wasn’t going to deny you what you wanted. After all, he was the one making you feel good. “Yeah..? Say my name when you cum, baby. I want everyone in this fucking desert to know you’re mine..” he held your face with his hand, making sure you were looking at him as he spoke.
He then began to toy with your puffy clit. Your body was burning and that white hot pleasure was growing larger in your stomach. With every thrust, your orgasm grew closer. Cyno loved watching you come undone on his cock like that. It’s one of the many reasons why he kept seeing you for as long as he did. There was just something about you he couldn’t shake. Whether it was being physically intimate with one another or having your presence, he wanted you. It didn’t matter what way or how. He yearned for you more than anything else in the world.
Your thighs began to tremble and the knot inside your belly was tightening. The double pleasure made your mind turn to complete fog. Seeing you in complete bliss made Cyno thrust even harder into you. “C-Cyno..! Oh, god! Fuck!” you practically screamed his name as your orgasm flooded your senses.
Cyno’s hold on your hips tightened as his own high washed over him. Thick ropes of his cum filled your pussy, covering your walls with white. Your body was now exhausted and that made you collapse against him. Both of your chests heaved and sweat coated your skin, but you both felt too good to even think about moving out of your position.
His lips came to press on your forehead, looking up at the dim ceiling while he inhaled your scent. Cyno was sure of one thing after tonight and that was he didn’t want you to be his fuck buddy anymore, but his lover instead.

after allowing this idea to rot inside of my brain for the past... who knows how long—here's some imagines!! inspired by the other types of hybrid reader scara / wanderer fics! hope you enjoy! ໒꒰ྀི。ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ。꒱ྀི১
772 words. reader is from sumeru, not edited.
wanderer who meets you while on a walk through avidya forest, having only recently regained his memories and in need of some time to come to terms with it all. a troublesome finch had been keeping his company for the entirety of his little excursion, incessantly annoying him despite his numerous attempts to shoo it away.
he finally snaps once it pecks at the ornament holding his vision, cursing at it and accidentally swatting it with the back of his hand, sending it flying away and onto the shoulder of another individual. it chirps at you, as if desperate, and you turn around to be greeted by the scowl of this mysterious stranger.
wanderer who... doesn't exactly hit it off with you, becoming even more exasperated when you start to chide him for being mean to such a 'cute' little fledgling. he takes a second to eye you before noticing your colorful hair and patterned clothing, before finally locking onto the wings sprouting out of your back. he calls both you and the finch annoying, turning away before you can get another word in.
wanderer who finds himself meeting a familiar face once enrolled in the akedemiya, forced to room with another scholar in the hopes of him making another friend. his hands clench around his bag once he knocks on the door of his new home, knuckles white when your smile drops in silent recognition. turns out you were the amurta member kusanali had asked to room with him. wonderful.
"you're joking." he's scowling at you—your new roommate, apparently—eyes trailing up and down your form as if trying to make you disappear. you, on the other hand, can't keep your gaze stationary, looking between that familiar scowling face and the small bag of belongings he carries with him.
frankly, you want to say those exact words to him, but are left unable to as he shoves past you, trudging towards the empty room right beside yours. the door slams shut, a sense of finality shutting you up before you even had the chance to speak.
... you were starting to regret putting in the effort of making food for him. how could somebody known as 'hat guy' be so... bitter?
wanderer who's forced to adjust to your presence, despite your many disagreements. the rooms aren't exactly the largest, with the both of you being relatively new to the organization—and you have this terribly annoying habit of dragging him around to all sorts of pointless events. he tells you off each and every time you drag him away from his desk, but becomes less and less resistant over time.
wanderer who races you through the forest whenever the both of you are free, soaring through the trees with you by his side. he plays dirty, manipulating the winds around you in order to keep you from surpassing him—something that he only snickers at when you attempt to call him out on it. you've nearly crashed into a few trees due to his manipulation, though he'll always make sure to steer you away before you actually make impact.
wanderer who helps you whenever your pin feathers are ready to be unsheathed, despite his reluctance during the first few times you'd requested his assistance. he'd been much harsher than you'd expected, nearly pulling out the entire thing instead of simply breaking the keratin sheath, sending you squawking as you pushed him away.
now, though, he's gotten the hang of it, hands gently trailing over your head as he helps to relieve the itch. he'll still scoff, of course, calling the entire ordeal foolish—especially when you could just take care of the ordeal yourself, though he'll become incredibly pouty if you decide to heed his words.
wanderer who holds you tight against his chest whenever the both of you share a bed, allowing you to envelope him within your wings. they're soft, fluffy, comfortable, and while not something he'd ever think of revealing to you... he gets a bit sad whenever they aren't wrapped around him. not his fault that they're so warm.
wanderer who actually does let you use his hat as an umbrella, allowing your bird form to perch on his shoulder whenever it starts to rain unexpectedly. he's once taken you to the sanctuary of surasthana like this, only realizing the extent of his mistake when he saw the stars dancing in kusanali's eyes.
any attempts to bring the incident up are immediately dismissed, though the thinning of his lips and aversion of his gaze do nothing to hide his embarrassment. don't try to tease him about it—he'll pinch at your feathers.
