It’s Hop Day according to Twitter, so to celebrate, here’s some of my favorite pieces featuring Hop that I’ve drawn in the past two years~

Ships you like in pokespe and why?

I can't keep track of all the ship names anymore, so some of these are just gonna be character/character style.

I'm not as much of a shipper as I was as a kid, so a lot of these are more "would be kinda neat/funny" than anything:

-Agencyshipping: The exception to the above disclaimer, I am invested, these guys are just.... good for each other. I like how they have callbacks to each other's lines and are mutually protective and supportive. I like their little physical displays of affection. I like that they have friends outside of each other and that they like each other's friends. They just make me happy to think about.

-Whitley/...a whole lot of people, actually: Whitley is really funny to ship with people, she's kind of a disaster and has really big emotions and is certain that she should only like N, so she'll either panic over feelings for anyone else or be completely oblivious and leave them baffled. I especially like her one-sided crush on N (eventually developing into mutual platonic respect), a one-sided crush on Blake (there's also some nice drama in this ship to explore), her and Hugh (turning the tables where Hugh is down bad and denying it and Whitley takes forever to notice), and Dia (he's just a good boy and their interactions in Yamamoto's doodles are kinda cute, sue me).

-Moon/Gladion: Another "I think it's funny one-sided" kinda thing. Gladion not knowing why he's flustered and then dumbstruck that it's a crush on Moon and trying to justify that it's because she's so competent vs Moon "if it's not related to my special interests I don't care."

-Alacrityshipping: Schilly's just a silly character and having Hop have a crush on her despite/because of that silliness is amusing to me. Another one that's mostly one-sided.

I have a few other minor ships, but mostly ones I prefer platonic or QP but wouldn't mind romantic, like Oldrival, Specialjewel, and the Sinnoh trio (can't remember their ship name right now, oops).

Favourite Character: Black and Schilly! It's a tie between them. They're also my favourite dexholders.

Least Favourite Character: Emerald! I just don't like his personality.

5 Favourite Ships (canon or non-canon): Agencyshipping, Alacrityshipping, Deliveryshipping, Franticshipping and Commonershipping

Character I find most attractive: Green Oak! What can I say, I like his aged up design in the XY chapters.

Character I would want to marry: I don't think I want to marry anyone.

Character I want to be best friends with: White, Platinum and Schilly!

A random thought: It'd be so cool to have a reunion with the dexholders from all 9 generations.

Unpopular Opinion: Idk if I have any unpopular opinions.

My canon OTP: Franticshipping. It's only ship confirmed to be canon. Also, Ruby and Sapphire do look cute together. And I'm a sucker for childhood friends to lovers.

My non-canon OTP: Agencyshipping! I love this pairing so much! Black and White are perfect for each other. No one can change my mind. I remember happily fangirling over them being reunited.

Pairing I'm not a fan of: Oldrivalshipping. I just don't get it. I interpret all of Green and Blue's interactions as platonic. They're just good friends imo.

Most Badass Character: Moon and Platinum! It's so cool that Moon can throw pokeballs with her bow and arrow. Her archery skills are impressive. Platinum is a good battler. I admire her battling prowess especially facing off against Candice. It was clever of her to let Lopunny use Healing Wish to fully heal Rapidash in order to defeat Froslass and claim victory.

Most Epic Villain: Sird! I love how Sird turned out to be a Team Galactic Commander. She infiltrated Team Rocket as part of an undercover mission for Cyrus.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Schilly. I'm a little salty about Schilly being eliminated from the Gym Challenge. I really wished that there was some focus on her battling skills before she lost to Opal. Even though she was limited to just her Raboot, Kilo and Tera, she could've come up with strategies to compensate for the lack of team members. Tera the Gigantamax Toxtricity did not deserve to go down the way it did! (fainting after hitting itself in confusion because of Gmax Alcremie's cream missiles is bs). I'm sorry if I sound petty... it's just that Schilly is my fave Galar dexholder and she deserves better.

Favourite Frienship: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum! The Sinnoh dexholders should never be separated. I also like Black's friendships with Cheren and Bianca.

Character I most identify with: To be honest, I never thought about this before. I think that I have to go with X.

Character I wish I could be: Black! Man, I wish I could be as passionate about my own dreams as Black is towards his own dreams of becoming Unova's Champion.

Their date had started with Hop asking Schilly about her research on why Pokémons who used transform capacities on Pokémon capable of Gigamaxing could not themselves Gigamax.

It had ended up with the two of them being expulsed from the dinner they were having a date in, because they had been there for five hours straight, and they were about to close.

By conventional means, this might not count as a date. They had barely ate, Schilly too busy explaining the different scientific theories about why and how Dynamax worked and how the anatomy of Pokémons changed in the process, and Hop too busy listening to her.

Conventions, by all means, could get lost. Hop did have a fun time, thank you very much, and according to her large grin, Schilly was ecstatic to have been set free to speak of her passion. And even if the boy had sometimes been lost in the amount of info dump, he had learned a lot of knowledge in the past few hours.

“I’m thirsty…” Schilly groaned on his side. One could only go so far than speak for hours straight without putting a strain to their throat.

“I guess so…” Hop slightly chuckled. “You know, there this café, near the station, that is doing a great hot chocolate. And they’re open 24 hours a day, so we won’t get expulsed because we stay too late… What do you think? Do you wanna finish about how some objects stop working when the Pokémon holding it dynamax?”

“You really want to hear about it? Because you see, there was this article last month, that explains that potentially…”

She kept talking all the way to the café, and changed of topic for how a Dynamax Pokémon could not be affected by Curse Body as they received their mugs of hot chocolate. And during this whole time, Hop kept staring at her with a dreamy smile.

Yes, he really did love that girl.
