A little polysoos and alberu/Cale drabble I've been thinking of for a while:

"Did you know that the only reason you're my sworn brother and not betrothed is that I did not fully trust you at that moment?" Alberu casually commented as he did his paperwork, causing Cale to cough up the tea he was drinking.

Cale just knew that Alberu timed his comment that way, the petty bastard. Cale was intent on ignoring that non sequitur, but he could see the quarter dark elf paying attention to his response and remembered a piece of advice from a work nonna, so he spoke.

"Do you want to get married politically or romantically?"

"Does it matter?"

"It does."

Cale could see Alberu blushing, and he took a moment to marvel at the mana work of his necklace allowing blushing to be seen. "Romantically." He muttered, looking down at his lap. Cale sighed, that was the response he feared. It will be hard to gently let him down.

"Kim Rok Soo was a widow."

"Huh?"

"Kim Rok Soo was a widow. He became a widow after he gained the ability Record."

Cale could see Alberu's shaking eyes land on him, and felt sorrow for his hyung's heartbreak. But being with Cale would only be worst.

"You deserve someone better that I. Someone who could give you what I can not."

"But I want you!" Alberu has stood up, protesting how Cale seemed to be depreciating himself. Cale was not by the way- he was just being practical. He felt tired beyond belief.

"Hyung, you need someone not haunted by their past. I can never be that. I'm a widow doomed to forever feel the touches of my husband's like they're still here. Not even time nor a new body can wash away their touch, their love, their feelings. I can never love you like you deserve while I'm still in love with the ghosts of the past."

Alberu felt his heart breaking for both himself and Cale. He knew how hard it was for Cale to fully explain himself and to do it for him? It meant that despite not returning his feeling Cale did care or him. He also did not realise how hard Record was on Cale. Cale never seemed to buckle or fumble, but right now his eyes were haunted and his shoulders holding the weight of the world. Alberu felt like if he could still feel his mother's touch like she was till there would cause him to go insane. How did Cale manage to handle that?

"I'm sorry Hyung. I cannot return your feeling."

Alberu began to cry.

I really like the chemistry between ogCale and krsCale! They are so bestie coded.

Everyone had some misunderstanding when they met with krsCale for the 1st time no matter how smart they were (Alberu thought he was a elf). Even his close friends still misunderstand him including himself.

But ogCale was able to understand him perfectly despite just meeting him for the 1st time. It felt like he could read krsCale' mind despite the other having a stoic expression.

He also understood that krsCale is actually very kind despite the rumors of him being a cold blooded person.

Moreover, he didn't say some things out loud knowing that krsCale can get uneasy or feel burdened.

Furthermore, he was the 1st (?) person to support krsCale' dream to live peacefully without any questions and advised krsCale about what to do to not become the count.

Finally, unlike everyone else, he didn't become angry at krsCale for getting hurt. He was shocked, but he could understand krsCale' situation and simply wished him luck.

On the other hand, krsCale who refuses to listen to other people's sad backstory or dislike hearing something troublesome, did both for ogCale.

He attentively listened to ogCale' story despite knowing that it is troublesome. He also said he would like to hear more details. It was so unlike him!

They can understand each other like no one else can.

I love the idea of Cale getting flirted with and it just absolutely flying over his head. Regardless of whether he's aroace, aro, ace or neither, at his core Cale is OBLIVIOUS to how people view him.

It gets even better if his protective family knows EXACTLY what's going on, and are determined to keep everyone away.

Some visiting noble at a gala spends a few hours chatting him up, and the whole time, Cale thinks they're just trying to use him to get to his friends. Either by making a good impression by being friendly, or he's trying to manipulate Cale into giving away secrets. Jokes on him, Cale would never reveal their secrets and plans so easily, and definitely not for free! Meanwhile, Choi Han, Alberu and Eruhaben are just glaring this man down, and keep interrupting their conversation when they can. Alberu makes sure he isn't invited back.

Some lady tries to trap Cale in a scandal but Roslyn just pops up and demands to know how she could ever even think the Young Master wants her when Roslyn is right there. Cale of course thinks this means the young lady is trying to replace Roslyn as Owner of the Magic Tower, and sends her off before she can get another word in. He worked way too hard to get Roslyn her tower and position, no way is he going to let some random person steal it. The next day rumours float around that Cale will only consider eligible young ladies who are extremely proficient in magic. The Roan Kingdom's number of mages grows exponentially in a few months.

As Cale grows older, more people approach him expressing a desire to "have his children". The first time Cale hears this, he grabs Raon, On and Hong and books it out of there before these kidnappers can make their move. How prepared were they to take the kids if they had the guts to tell him to his face?! The kids aren't allowed out of sight for a week, and enjoy the extra pampering, even as the others hunt down anyone who might consider blatantly propositioning Cale.

Cale gets tired of people approaching him with their weird questions and asks Raon to keep a permanent shield around him so that no one can get too close unless allowed. To the public and many of his family, however, this just looks like Cale is so worried and stressed that he's had to keep his shield up just to have some peace. The people band together to defend their hero, and soon no one approaches Cale unless he approaches them first. Children are given a free pass, but anyone else who tries is quickly intercepted by random passerbys. Cale believes people are nervous, intimidated, or have finally stopped considering him to be a major hero.

Ok ok, picture this:

Modern au

Cale is watching Alberu's stream while getting ready to go to work. He's been a viewer of Alberu for a while now and his kids have even made him send fanart to the streamer a few times.

For some reason, Alberu jokes about giving someone in chat mod to which Cale offhandedly types in chat: "Sounds tedious, never ask me that again."

Alberu immediately gives it to Cale "for the bit"

Immediately, Cale is like "nononononono- TAKE IT BACK"

Meanwhile Alberu is in stitches, laughing so hard he's almost crying.

Eventually, Cale has to go to work and leaves with a final message in chat:

"This better be fixed when I get back from work, your Highness."

Cale watches Alberu smirk, "Or what, user Weak_Human?"

"Or else I will completely overhaul your setup until it's unrecognizable."

Cale doesn't touch his phone while working and kind of forgets about the stream and his threat until he finally clocks off and opens the app to find he still has mod.... Then he notices he also has an email from the streamer himself.

It's access to Alberu's OBs and stream settings... wtf.

Well, ignoring the ridiculousness of the sotuation, Cale is nothing if not a man of his word.

When Alberu opens up his computer to start streaming, he immediately notices how... smooth everything is. His computer used to take a minute to load everything and yet now everything is almost instant. His starting soon screen is up and while people trickle in, he notices that all his settings have been streamlined, all his ban requests sorted and commented on, even some of his graphics and emotes have been resized and bound to new commands.

The he notices he has a new unread email. In it is an attached spreadsheet which lists every change made and the original settings in excruciating detail. The email itself is a simple 4 words:

"Now take it back."

Alberu can only laugh as he answers:

"Absolutely not. Also, call me hyung, dongsaeng."

Cale: So you really believe me, Your Highness?

Alberu: Cale, you are one of the last good people on the face of this miserable planet-stop making that face- but that's not why I believe you.

Alberu: I believe you beacuse with the way you live your life and the situations you end up in anything is possible. I’d believe you if you said talking cartoon birds did your hair this morning.
