Watching The Silver Skates (Серебряные коньки) on Netflix just reignited my latent crush on “good” Draco Malfoy types because of Alexey Tarasov (played by Yuriy Borisov) and his pre-Soviet jaunty little karakul hat and the elegant way he moves on ice in his well-cut dark coat.

Alexey Tarasov is not just an ordinary thief, he even stole all our hearts. I love how he's sooo bad and sooo thoughtful at the same time. He cares a lot for his gang and it shows.

"He's a traitor."

"But he is our traitor." That line's so funny yet touching.

Alex is the kind who assures everyone's safety before securing himself. On the Ice Fair, he told a friend to go home because the guards had caught one of them yet he stayed to watch the scene unfold, he even followed them and saved Matvey. The way he's still gentle with Alisa even when he's holding her as a hostage. When he asked the guards to let go of his gang with the inclusion of the traitor and made sure that they are already running far from them before handing Alisa and only then did he actually think of saving himself. (Sadly, the cops caught up with the rest of the Ice Thieves 😓) The way he told Matvey to jump first because the captain always leaves the ship last. In order to save Matvey, he diverted the guards' attention to him by shooting on air... in return, they aimed at him and shot him instead.
