27. how magic is used in everyday life

for all sorts of little conveniences, mostly! hot and cold running water, lights where fire would be inconvenient, and cold storage for food, for example. shapeshifting is also commonplace - everyone in the clan spends the majority of their time in humanoid form to take advantage of the city’s existing infrastructure (left over from the Second Age).

on a less little but still everyday note, the city is hidden within a magically-maintained sandstorm. and by magically maintained I mean Alieth takes care of it. understandable why he’s such a sleepy boy.

30. an otherwise unremarkable weapon

there is absolutely nothing magical about Zaprah's bow or arrows, but they’re still his most treasured possessions. he did make them himself, so perhaps that adds a little something - the focus and intent imbued with every scraping and sanding of the wood, the hopes and convictions for what they’ll be used for. which in Zaprah’s case is killing his ex, Muroc. he’s a very well-adjusted person.

50. your favorite lore tidbit!

oh i am bad at picking favorites. but for a random one that I quite like, there’s the network of caves that connects to the city’s sewer system - lots of fun to play with in a number of different ways, from facilitating Sivath’s smuggling operation to letting me justify an entire gigantic aquatic monster living adjacent to my desert clan.
