First Look: The Hennessey H850 Mustang Dark Horse
Hennessey Performance, the world-renowned Texas-based hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator, announces high-performance supercharged upgrades for the all-new, seventh-generation 2024 Ford S650 Mustang Dark Horse. The comprehensive turn-key package dramatically boosts engine output and enhances the appearance of the latest iteration of America's iconic pony car.
Ford's completely redesigned 'S650' Mustang Dark Horse is fitted with Ford's naturally aspirated Gen-4 Coyote 5.0-liter V8. The automaker upgrades the Dark Horse with GT500 connecting rods and a dual throttle body to earn a factory rating of 500 horsepower. The 2024 Dark Horse may be ordered with either a Tremec 6-speed manual (3.73 gears) or with Ford’s 10-speed automatic (3.55 gearing). Regardless of transmission choice, the track-focused Mustang features upgraded multi-piston Brembo performance brakes on both axles.
Hennessey's experienced technicians, who have been 'making fast cars faster' for 32 years, fit the Mustang's V8 with a high-performance supercharger and a high-flow air induction system, upgraded fuel injectors, and a new fuel pump. Calibrated with an HPE Engine Management software upgrade, the ‘H850’ Dark Horse produces 850 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque – a 70 percent increase in power!
To complement its potent powerplant, the Hennessey 'H850' Ford Mustang Dark Horse is visually enhanced with a stylish carbon-fiber front splitter, carbon-fiber side skirts, and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler. Completing the exterior cosmetic enhancements are a set of stunning forged aluminum alloy wheels. Hennessey's embroidered head restraints are fitted to the seats, while Hennessey's badging and script adorn the quarter panels and rear fascia. Unique 'Heritage' graphics are optional.

Six Decades of Shelby performance—from the first Shelby AC Cobra to today’s Mustang Shelby GT500!
A bad heart forced Carroll Shelby, one of the top racing drivers of all time, to retire in 1960. But that didn’t stop the lanky Texan from continuing to make history. He launched Shelby American in 1962 with the creation of the brilliant Ford-powered AC Cobra, soon to dominate both U.S. and international sports car racing. Shelby’s winning ways soon led to Ford seeking Shelby’s team of “hot rodders” help to make the Ford GT program a success. It worked. Shelby and Ford soon stunned the motorsports world by winning Le Mans and dominating other venues from 1966 to 1969 with the GT40. Fifty-three years later the legendary first Le Mans win of 1966 would form the basis for the acclaimed filmFord Versus Ferrari. As if the Cobra, Daytona Coupe, and GT40 were not enough, this small team of hot rodders, fabricators, and race mechanics also created the Shelby Mustang GT350 in 1965, and the GT500 two years later. Shelby American was nothing short of lightning in a bottle from 1962-1970.
Shelby American 60 Years of High Performance covers all of these early triumphs, following the proceedings from a small shop in Venice, California, to sprawling digs at LAX all the while developing new road cars, running a top race team, and giving privateer racers the cars they needed to win. Racing News: Ford Unveils Mustang GT3 Race Car

By SEMA Editors Ford has unveiled the Mustang GT3 race car, based on the all-new '24 Mustang Dark Horse, during a special ceremony as part of this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans. The automaker also announced plans to enter the GT3 into the iconic endurance race's FIA GT3 category in 2024, along with an entry in the 2024 World Endurance Championship season under Proton Competition, the German team led by team principal Christian Ried. "It is not Ford versus Ferrari anymore. It is Ford versus everyone," said Jim Farley, CEO of Ford Motor Co. Multimatic will build and support the GT3s, while M-Sport will assemble the Ford Performance-developed 5.4 L Coyote-based V8 engines. The GT3 features a bespoke short-long arm suspension, rear-mounted transaxle gearbox, carbon fiber body panels, and an aero package developed to meet GT3 targets. In addition, the automaker announced a new Ford Performance branding described as a "cleaner, simplified look" that will be integrated across its racing vehicles. New E1 World Championship to Launch Inaugural Electric Powerboat Racing Season UIM E1 World Championship--the world's first all-electric powerboat racing championship--has unveiled the venues that will host the first-ever racing season beginning in January 2024. The season will launch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, followed by a to-be-determined location in the Middle East in February 2024. Two events--set for April and May 2024--will take place in the waters of Venice, Italy. Then, competitors will visit Monaco in July 2024, followed by Rotterdam, Netherlands, in September 2024. WyoTech Announces Inaugural Hall of Fame Class WyoTech--the U.S. automotive, diesel and collision trade school based in Laramie, Wyoming--has announced its inaugural Hall of Fame class, with alumni including the late trailblazer known as "The Fastest Woman on Earth, a John Deere master tech whose YouTube videos have garnered 8 million views, a custom car builder who returned as an instructor and more. "Each of the six alumni has achieved tremendous career success and demonstrates WyoTech's capability of training students to succeed across the entire spectrum of the trade industry," said Jim Mathis, president and CEO of WyoTech. "We're honored to recognize them as the first inductees of WyoTech's Hall of Fame and to show the public the kind of impact our graduates have on the trade industry and the world." To be eligible for the WyoTech Hall of Fame, alumni must be five years post-graduation and established in the industry. The inaugural WyoTech Hall of Fame Class is (in alphabetical order): - John Alonzo is the racing operations-marketing director for the race shop at Scoggin Dickey Parts Center in Lubbock, Texas, one of the world's leading dealers of high-performance engines and GM parts. - Jessi Combs (1980-2019): The late Combs broke stereotypes and records by joining the North American Eagle Supersonic Speed Challenger team and, in 2013, became "The Fastest Woman on Four Wheels" at 398 mph, with a top speed of 440 mph. VW MQB RH850 Read IMMO Data and Add Key: Autel or Launch?
Question:
I need a tool to read IMMO data and add key to my VW MQB RH850 cluster, does Autel and Launch support? Which tool is recommended?
Here is the suggestion of EOBDTOOL.co.uk engineer:
Autel IM608 Pro/ IM608 PRO II (IM608 II) and IM508/ IM508S with Autel XP400 PRO and Launch X431 tablet with X-Prog3 support RH850. But Launch tool only can read and write Renesas encrypted RH850 MCUs for Renault, Ford, Nissan, etc, MQB RH850 is not supported currently.

Ford's Electric Vehicle sales surged in the second quarter, followed only to Tesla in the United States

In the second quarter, Ford’s electric vehicle sales in the United States again surpassed General Motors, ranking second in the U.S. electric vehicle market sales, and is on track to close the gap with Tesla.

In the second quarter of this year, Ford sold 23,957 electric vehicles in the United States, a 61% increase from the same period last year, when total electric vehicle sales were 14,843. Meanwhile, Ford’s sales of hybrid vehicles rose 55 percent year over year. However, sales of internal combustion engine cars were down 5 per cent year on year.
Ford saw double-digit sales growth for several of its electric vehicles. Sales of the Ford F-150 Lightning rose 76.9% to 7,902 units. While new competitors such as the Tesla Cybertruck and the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST have all hit the U.S. market, the Ford F-150 Lightning remained the best-selling electric truck in the U.S. in the first half of the year, with 15,654 units sold.
Second-quarter sales of the Ford Mustang Mach-E were up 46.5% year-over-year to 12,645 units. In the first half of this year, 22,234 units of the Mustang Mach-E were delivered, the best performance ever. Sales of Ford’s E-Transit electric van continued to climb in the second quarter, rising 95.5 percent to 3,410 units from a year earlier.
In the first half of 2024, Ford sold a total of 44,189 electric vehicles in the U.S. market, up 72% from 25,709 in the same period last year.
Ford CEO Jim Farley said the automaker is shifting to smaller, more affordable electric vehicles to close the gap with Tesla and fend off competitors like BYD worldwide. Referring to Americans’ love affair with “larger vehicles,” Farley said smaller electric vehicles are “very important to driving the decarbonisation of American society and the development of electric vehicles.”
Ford’s surge in electric vehicle sales in the US market is enough for it to continue to overtake General Motors. In the United States, GM delivered 21,930 electric vehicles in the second quarter, compared with 38,355 in the first half of 2024.
GM is also ramping up production by introducing new models, with electric models such as the Chevrolet Blazer, Equinox and Silverado coming to the U.S. market. While Tesla did not give specific sales figures by region, its second-quarter electric vehicle sales worldwide exceeded expectations, delivering 443,956 electric vehicles and remaining No. 1 in the U.S. market.
As competition in the U.S. electric vehicle market intensifies, other competitors, including Hyundai and Kia, also set new EV sales records in the second quarter. Hyundai Motor, for example, set a new sales record with its IONIQ 5 model, which sold 18,728 units in the first half of the year. Meanwhile, sales of Kia’s first three-row electric SUV, the EV9, are also climbing.

Not long after I arrived in Calhoun, my oldest brother, Billy, came to visit me.  We were quite a pair: me feeling completely overwhelmed by my new house and my new hospital and my new enormous black cloud of debt, and him working through some tough relationship issues. We talked a lot. We worked out at the gym. We ate egg white omelets at Huddle House. We philosophized. We did some farm calls together. We reflected. We whined. 
As I listened to Billy describe the depths of his unhappiness and the extent of his hopelessness, I remember thinking to myself, “Just DO something, damnit, even if it is wrong. At least do something.”  That didn’t seem very nice to say out loud, though, so I tried to phrase it more diplomatically.  “If you don’t like where you are, in your relationship, in your life, in your job…then leave. It’s that simple.”  
And sitting out by my pool on a clear night with the future ahead of us both, it did seem simple...“If you don’t like where you are…then leave. It’s that simple.” 
For whatever reason, that phrase stuck with him and it stuck with me, too. We have repeated it to each other many times throughout the years since that first visit, both as a reminder to each other and a reminder to ourselves: if you don’t like it, change it. We have each, in turn, made sudden drastic changes in our lives when we suddenly realized how unhappy we were in certain spaces, with certain people, in certain jobs.
But here is the secret of saying that phrase, and making it true: you have to believe that you can make something new work for you…and for most of us, that belief requires a strong safety net.

The summer after my first year of college I decided to get in my car and drive around the US. I packed up my little Ford Mustang with my tent inside and my bicycle on a rack on the trunk and I drove everywhere I wanted to go.  I didn’t really have a destination in mind, I just wanted to be out, exploring, getting away from my parents and the house in Maryland which suddenly, inexplicably, felt so confining after a year at college.  I mostly roamed from park to park but also relative to relative. Usually I called a few hours or maybe a day in advance...”Hey...I’m in Ohio, can I come stay for a day or two?” No one, not one single relative, said no. They all, even some I hadn’t seen in 15 years, took me in and made me welcome and asked me to stay longer. 
It was an amazing summer adventure...bouncing from the safety net of my parents’ house to the safety net of my casual independence to the safety net of relatives.

My middle brother, Mike, once left his job and drove two hours through a blinding snow storm to rescue me after I had been involved in a multiple-vehicle accident on I-81 in western Virginia that totaled my SUV, killed my dog and left me with a gash across my forehead and a profound sense of how lucky I was to be alive. And while I can’t fall asleep in moving vehicles any more, and I still have an ugly scar on my forehead.... I also still have the memory of my brother riding out to my rescue.

When finances were really tight at the hospital, sometime in the early 2000s, my mom saw how stressed out and constantly on-edge I was and wrote me a check for $7000 (the amount of the monthly hospital loan payment). As she handed it to me she said, “I know you won’t ask for help when you need it, so hold onto this and use it whenever you need it but don’t want to ask.”   That check hung on my corkboard above my desk from that day until the day I sold the hospital. I was lucky that I never needed to use it, and lucky that I had a parent that could afford to write a check that big and was generous enough to give it. Knowing the check was hanging there, ready, made a huge difference in how I worried about the day-to-day issues of the time.

Yes, we fight sometimes, and yes we are extremely dysfunctional...but I think every family is dysfunctional in some way. But no matter what, we are all there for each other every single day, and we all know that there are people out there to catch us if we fall.  Financially.  Emotionally, Physically.

It wasn’t until I was old enough to have been out in the world a bit that I began to realize how very, very privileged I have been, and how most of the world is not this lucky. People without a safety net often do not have the luxury of just “leaving” the lives they feel stuck in. Unhappy situations continue for some people because without the unhesitating certainty of a safety net, they believe they are one stupid decision away from falling, and crashing, and burning.

We did say we started the kit car program but we have not formally kicked it off it was not introduced that way yet but he has ideas and they are terrific and I want people to start doing them we're going to kick off the car program and probably another week but we're going to get special permission for a few of the projects and one of them is to take over a fairing company and plant on type items and upgrades to an existing vehicle and we are going to accept it and we have a group doing it we'll send it acceptance as soon as we meet which is very soon today or tomorrow early. We have several projects we're going to approve right away and there'll be noted in the project header one of them is the VW to Porsche I am another car it's like a Malibu with smaller and a Chevy and it's electric and the kit would be for the Porsche as well a different one than the 911 and people love it it's a great idea there's a lot of them involved taking panels off leaving the inner frame fully intact attaching new metal panels the older Camaros and Firebirds old meaning roughly 1997 to 2010 all of them will accept Ferrari panels nicely and we will have several makes of the Ferrari and some wide body as well as a Ferrari kit and some kids look really nice for those cars those are some fine examples he also looked at a regular midsize sedan and said this is a perfect size for almost any supercar you can imagine and they are and the windshield and the door windows and the doors it can almost all be kept from Bugatti to Ferrari you change the panels and you've got a supercar we have studied it and some cars have lower noises than others and they'd be better for different ones he even said you can make the Vader and people love it we love it and we want to go ahead and start all these cars and there's a way to make them into rear engine looking vehicles and still have storage and really he's got a good idea when you do that the rear engine look you're taking the back seat out there's not much work and you're putting like a little compartment if you do the kids you would take the back seat out and you would cut a prescribed size and move the engine back a lot of those are three to 350 horsepower and we'd have the cradle system so really you're doing a kit car without dismantling the car and you leave the interior and there's several tricks that he was saying you use so seat covers that are very contoured and they have ways to attach to your seat and they look like sports car seats and there's things that cover the steering wheel of course we put a new one on and there's things that modify the dash and I'll tell you what it's a complete cover actually it goes over it this is an awesome idea cuz people are into this they don't want to do huge changes and moving the engine is a big change and it requires a bunch of work but we would give a new wiring harnesses we're going forwards for this project. And Hera wants to have her 4GT her Ford GT40 in the lineup and she wants the one with the metal hole and it's a hell and it is for a mustangs and you have to take the the hull off it more or less and there's instructions and a cradle and it relocates and everything and he says I can't drive when they're buy one but they're helpful and she knows it and the reason is it's inexpensive and it is the super car but it costs a lot less and you can get away with it if you did that for the mid-size vehicle 2024 Chevy it's not malibus the other and now they're small if you did the kid and you put the whole body on and it's metal and you relocate the engine and you put the performance package on and suspension the kit would run like 3500 bucks no it's more like 8,500 and the car would cost probably seven Grand but together that's under $20,000 for a supercar it'll be really fast and sound great

A year after I graduated college, I decided to buy a car. I’d been driving a hand-me-down Hyundai sedan, but I wanted something more reliable for the miles I racked up driving around sprawling Dallas for my job as a reporter.
At first, I narrowed my search to the Mazda 6 — at least it was more fun than a Corolla. But as I saved a few options online, hoping for something in dark green, I said to hell with all that. I could buy a convertible for roughly the same price.
A couple weeks later, a dealer showed me a 2004 Ford Mustang, white with a cream-colored canvas top. He pressed a switch on the center console, and down went the top for my test drive. I’d never ridden in a convertible before. On back roads twisting through farmland, it felt like the sky had been lowered from the atmosphere, settling just a few feet above me, close enough to touch the clouds.

I never got sick of the convertible. It turned everyday monotony into an adventure, replaced the rigid confinement of sedans and SUVs with freedom and openness. Who wouldn’t want one?
But the year I bought my Mustang, in 2010, US convertible sales were down to ~140K, less than half of what they’d been just a few years earlier. That was during the Great Recession, near the auto industry’s nadir. Still, the decline has continued.
According to S&P Global Mobility, new retail registrations of convertibles totaled ~70K in the 12 months between March 2023 and February 2024, comprising ~0.6% of all vehicle sales. That’s down from ~2% in the mid-2000s.
2023 sales of the Mustang convertible, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, were down ~87% compared to 2001. Its rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, has been discontinued.
Convertibles are an endangered species, along with the American ethos they exemplified. When Carvana polled Americans on their dream cars last year, the most coveted was an SUV. The characteristic they sought most in their dream car wasn’t emotional attachment — it was technology.
We’re losing the messy, hair-flowing-in-the-wind version of the American Dream to something climate-controlled and closed off to the world. And we might never get it back.
The Car That ‘Satisfies A Youthful Ambition’
Growing up in the ’90s, I rode countless, boring miles in the passenger seats of my dad’s Toyota Camry sedan and mom’s Plymouth Voyager minivan.
I pined for a more exotic ride just out of my reach. My next-door neighbor had an old European convertible — a midlife crisis purchase if there ever were one — and I remember the college-aged woman across the street pulling into her family’s driveway (and looking far cooler) in a Mazda Miata.
This yearning went back generations, to the time automakers, after painstakingly working to enclose early model cars with roofs, realized they could spark people’s imaginations (and extract more from their wallets) by offering a topless experience.

Costing anywhere from $2K to $5K in the 1930s, roughly 2x-4x the average family income at the time, convertibles made by Duesenberg, Rolls-Royce, and Packard became status symbols for the prosperous few who could afford them.
“It is possible to follow the careers of stars through their motor cars,” noted a reporter in 1938. “When he or she first reaches the dizzy heights of movie fame, flash, gaudy cars are in order.”
Clark Gable owned a Packard convertible, and actor Wayne Morris preferred a topless ride in his Lincoln Zephyr “in any type of weather.” Marlene Dietrich was chauffeured in a tan Rolls-Royce convertible.
“No doubt,” wrote the reporter, “the gaudy car… satisfies a youthful ambition — and all of us have had it.”
The less starry got to fulfill their desires when Chevy, Lincoln, and Buick introduced roomy, space-aged convertibles in the ’50s and ’60s. My grandparents bought a 1962 seafoam-green Impala.
In 1964, Ford released the Mustang, the brainchild of famed auto developer and executive Lee Iacocca. Priced at ~$2.3K, or about one-third of the median family income, the Mustang was a magnet for middle-class Americans who wanted to inject adventure into their daily lives. It also helped bring annual convertible sales to ~500K in the mid-’60s, around 5% of total vehicle sales in America.
Safety concerns and a weak economy put a kibosh on convertible dreams in the ’70s. Cadillac claimed its ’76 Eldorado would be the last convertible ever designed, and total convertible sales fell to ~43K in 1982. But Iacocca reignited the flame with the release of the Chrysler LeBaron that year, ushering in the expanding convertible landscape I grew up with.

The Hustle
My dream car back then was a Dodge Viper, but I saw more practical convertibles everywhere in the ’90s, the peak era for manufacturers to turn the simplest of car models into adventure machines, equipped with rollover bars or fortified support pillars for safety.
The Pontiac Sunfire, Toyota Paseo, Chevrolet Cavalier, Mercury Capri, Honda Civic del Sol, Ford Probe, and Geo Metro (which could’ve lost to a riding lawn mower in a drag race) all had convertible versions.

Annual convertible sales Climbed to ~170K in the mid-’90s. They increased to ~315K in 2004, about 2% of the entire vehicle market, as automakers perfected the retractable hard top (and, somehow, convinced Americans to buy PT Cruiser convertibles).
Yet, as I failed to save for a Toyota Celica convertible by my 16th birthday — my realistic vision of a gaudy purchase — a tectonic market shift was underway. You could see it reflected in choices made from the Heartland to Hollywood.
After Good Will Hunting catapulted Matt Damon and Ben Affleck onto the A-list, for instance, they splurged on cars just like Gable, Morris, and other young stars before them.
Except they bought Jeep Grand Cherokees. “The really dope new truck at the time,” Affleck later explained to IMDB.
The SUV Loophole
Back in the late ’70s, the legal distinction that helped precipitate the decline of convertibles (and cars in general) seemed insignificant. A loophole the size of a needle eye.
In response to the oil crisis and a burgeoning environmental movement, federal regulations went into effect in 1978 requiring automakers’ passenger car fleets to meet a fuel standard of 18 miles per gallon. But “passenger cars” meant sedans, station wagons, coupes, and convertibles.
It didn’t apply to “light trucks” such as minivans, pickups, and SUVs, the latter two of which were mostly used by farmers, contractors, and laborers who needed the extra space for hauling material. To avoid placing an economic burden on workers, light-truck fleets were subjected to lower standards. While automakers had to shrink cars to hit the fuel standard, light trucks remained spacious.
So began an emphasis on SUVs and trucks (and minivans, at least until an association with soccer moms doomed them). SUV sales increased from ~112K in 1981 to ~800K in 1987.
Most Americans still didn’t need to haul anything, but they were hooked. In 1987, a J.D. Power and Associates survey even found SUV owners felt a sense of adventure while driving them — similar to a convertible.
For automakers, the economics checked out.
“You can sell a Cadillac for a lot more than a Chevy even though the Cadillac only costs marginally more to produce than a Chevy. The same thing goes for those truck-based SUVs because they’re sold as rugged,” says David Lucsko, an Auburn University professor who researches automotive history. “You can sell them at a premium and rake in the profits.”

Later, brands popularized the crossover utility vehicle, giving consumers the space of an SUV with a smoother ride. Crossovers, despite being built on the same frame as a car, are typically classified as light trucks. The takeover was complete: Light trucks outsold cars for the first time in 2002. Their sales now comprise nearly 80% of the vehicle market.
No Cars Means No Convertibles
That shift has filled the roads with increasingly large vehicles, which is hardly an ideal environment for convertibles. But Drew Dorian, managing editor for Car and Driver, says he’s doubtful safety fears have driven their decline, noting that safety-concerned families would be unlikely to buy convertibles anyway.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has found that, while SUVs have lower driver fatality rates than the average vehicle, convertibles aren’t any less safe than enclosed sedans or coupes.
Speaking of sedans and coupes: Many brands don’t even make them anymore. The only Ford car that hasn’t been discontinued in North America, for instance, is the Mustang. No more Taurus or Focus or Fusion. That’s been really bad for convertibles, which are typically derived from cars.
To develop all those ’90s convertibles, automakers just tweaked the design of popular sedans at a low cost. Now, according to Tom Libby, associate director of industry analysis and loyalty solutions at S&P Global Mobility, cars aren’t popular enough to justify turning into convertibles.
“To propose a convertible now, it’s almost impossible to create a proposal that includes a volume that’s big enough to make money,” he says.

Money is also in short supply. Car companies are investing huge sums in the transition to electric vehicles, Libby says, and sales of EVs slowed last year, complicating the calculus of how to emphasize true EVs vs. hybrids.
Just as the purchase of a convertible requires a feeling of relative financial security and a sense of boldness, so does the act of designing one. And right now most automakers lack both.
Opting For Open Air
As with movies and clothing, trends rarely die in the auto industry. They go into hibernation until one successful experiment draws copycats and the trend becomes inescapable.
Just as the success of Iacocca’s Chrysler LeBaron led other brands to turn popular car models into convertibles in the ’80s and ’90s, Libby can imagine brands developing SUV convertibles as they seek niches for consumers demanding greater variation.
This makes sense: There’s increased time for adventure as millennials delay having kids or don’t have them at all. While summers may be excruciatingly hot, especially in the Sunbelt, the other seasons are warmer than ever. And Gen Zers crave experiences.
“The enjoyment of open air,” Libby says, “I don’t think that’s gone away.”
“But based on what happened to Nissan a few years ago,” he adds, “I don’t think [SUV convertibles are] imminent.”
He’s referring to Nissan’s crossover Murano convertible, which failed to gain traction in the 2010s. Land Rover’s Evoque was also swiftly discontinued. Americans spoke with their wallets: They didn’t want the open air.

When I’m driving on temperate days, I rarely even see other drivers with their windows down. That might not be a coincidence. Lucsko, the car historian at Auburn, says automakers now design vehicles for consumers to seal themselves in.
“I think the car has become more and more a cocoon where we go to be isolated from the world,” he says.
Driving a convertible means being exposed to the world. It means embracing the elements and putting yourself out there, an ever-harder proposition in our increasingly curated, digital lives.
My own convertible era ended years ago. I had to ditch my Mustang for a move to hilly, snowbound central Pennsylvania. But I haven’t ditched my ambition for the open air, and I hope Americans haven’t either. Whether it’s a classic droptop or a futuristic roofless SUV, it will always feel good to say to hell with all that and buy a convertible.
