I dressed up as a light rail train from my local transit agency for Halloween and someone took a picture of me during my morning commute and sent it to them. Little did I know that my transit agency posted the pic, and across platforms it’s gotten over 1.8k likes?!? Multiple people stopped me on my way home to ask for pictures or talk to me cause they’d seen me online. What a weird day.

#if you live in Portland and saw the pics of the MAX guy? that’s me lol #most of the comments online have been really sweet too which has been nice #especially since I was really stressed out and couldn’t sleep last night because I was nervous about wearing this costume #I also find it funny because in the picture from the morning I was on my phone. What was I doing on my phone?#I was studying for my transportation operations exam. literally caught me on transit dressed as transit studying transportation #overall the costumes reception has made me very happy and to me highlights exactly what I love about Transit.#because of my costume I’m making people smile and I’m getting to talk and connect with folks around me #many of whom I’ll never see again. my costume is helping connect my community and build bonds between us #that’s what transit does! when you share that space with other people and talk to them you are connecting with people in your community #people who you likely won’t ever see again! but those conversations still matter and are good!!#they connect us all to each other #everyone is a neighbor on transit. we are all connected on transit. we are all transit users.#and that’s a community that stretches into almost every other subcommunity in the community at large #transit connects people - not only from place to place but also with each other #googoogajoob

retreat day 4 done. it’s been a really good day i think

#purrs #we did feedback and i was the only person who cried and i cried twice LOL. once while giving feedback and once while receiving it. the #feedback that made me cry was that…. omg… someone in my pod CAME TO THE RETREAT BECAUSE OF ME. i was the reason for someone. omg i teared up #immediately. and so many other ppl remembered interacting w me during the lockdown when iwas suffering so bad and it made me so emotional in #a good way. we didn’t give up. we kept pushing on. and it MATTERED. there’s a whole group of ppl in the community room now (i just got back)#and they’re eating and talking and laughing and hugging and leaning on each others shoulders and writing each other letters. and i helped to #make that happen. and we all poured our whole hearts in. and im so grateful and so proud. im not prepared to facilitate AT ALL lmao and we h #have to be out of here in 13 hours and i haven’t finished writing my notes yet. but im content and happy. and i feel like ive made (perhaps #only temporary but still) peace w the wounds that got ripped open last night. so i feel good. i can’t believe it’s almost over #retreat tag #also apparently i am a meerkat btw.#<- according to someone in my pod who gave everyone feedback in the form of animal metaphors 🥹

So, I just realized that like, eighty percent of the couples in my book series are enemies to lovers and I'm not sure how I should feel about that

#like. should i be trying for some variety???#in my defense they're all fairly different #you've got your 'co-workers/annoyances to cautious friends who get into fights all the time to lovers'#and 'i was involved in the death of your brother and close friends to allies to friends to lovers'#and then there's one where he thinks they're enemies but she knows they're not. mainly because she can see the future #and knows he's of great importance in her life #(not exactly how. but she does know that he will be there when she dies)#let's not forget 'childhood friends to enemies/rivals to friends again to lovers'#and this very long one:#'he charms her into letting him out of his tower which is actually his prison cause he's a notorious criminal #and now she's sworn to hunt him down and return him to his jailers #but he's super good at escaping and also really charming so he keeps flirting with her #and then they both accidentally fall in love'#OH i almost forgot 'enemies and intense rivals to allies to saving each other from terrifying curses to friends to lovers'#and there's the classic 'friends to enemies to friends to lovers' i'm so excited for that one #pretty much the only non-enemies to lovers ship is the slow burn friends to lovers #and somehow that one is the most agonizing #sort of #hazel rambles about her original writing #happy new year if you made it through all these tags! have some cake or treat of your choice
