I usually only read larrie fics but I wouldn't mind trying some zouis fics, do you have any favorites? (I don't know if you even read zouis but you are the only "fic" person I follow that reads other ships so I thought it didn't hurt to ask!)

Oh nonnie yes!!! I LOVE zouis so much!! I’m on mobile, so this list isn’t going to be great, and my reasons for loving each aren’t going to be long because my toddler is a terror at the moment, but here’s a basic list for you to start with!

First, my own because self promo? Haha

Kiss Me Or Not - this was part of my birthday Drabbles series for Harry where I was offering to write Drabbles for anyone who donated to Harry’s birthday drive and I wrote some zouis! It’s short and sweet and was my first attempt hehe I love it though

Hope I Start Talking Crazy (before you understand me) - this one is technically zouiam, but there’s a lot of zouis in there as it’s all building up to the finally ot3 hehe it’s also a/b/o (alpha ZAYN and Liam who are already mated and omega louis), Louis moves in next door to ziam, and it’s just. It was so much fun honestly hehe it was for the zouis fest that ran last year!

Finally, You and I (Collide) - I wrote this as a gift for @so-why-let-your-voice-be-tamed who also loves zouis (and who has also written zouis and does a fab job!!) it’s a five times fic involving adventures in baking that Louis gets to be the taste tester for hehe

You Only Fall In Love Twice by @beanno28 - okay so this fic is zourry, but since you usually only read larry fics I wanted to include this because sometimes having your usual pairing as part of it can help ease the way for you haha this was written for the Big Bang this year and is a famous/non famous fic and I loved it so much for so many reasons. It really focuses on all of their relationships and growing into the poly relationship together and it’s just. Wonderful. There’s also a focus on the poly aspect and adjusting to it and the difficulties they might face as they get used to it all that you don’t often see in poly fics, so I hugely loved having that in this one.

we’re still the kings of the Friday nights by @so-why-let-your-voice-be-tamed - this was written for zouis fest as well and ITS SO GOOD OMG!!! Friends to lovers, all the pining, that little hint of angst as they figure things out… it’s just. Everything good in a fic basically haha it’s a lot about self discovery as well and the way Mia writes about emotions is beautiful so of course that means this is impeccably done.

darling just dive right in by @so-why-let-your-voice-be-tamed - I told you she loved zouis, didn’t I? Haha I actually read this one as part of her birthday episode of @podfic-pals as a surprise for her, I love it that much. This is kind of… ex-friends with benefits to lovers? Haha I guess exes to lovers is more succinct and accurate to what they were but it’s so much pain. Soooo much pain. And then all the fluff when they realize their mistake. It’s just. So good. And royalty au!!!

New York Kiss by @quelsentiment - this fic. WHEW. Famous/non famous… kinda. Haha it takes place during Covid with quarantine and the uncertainty of the beginning of the pandemic especially playing a fairly large role in all of it and continuing as a strong undercurrent for their building relationship, so if that’s a trigger for you then stay safe, but I’m telling you this fic is art. The way every piece is put together and expounded upon, the way information is given, the emotions depicted, all of it just hits so perfectly and I love it so much.

Situations Like These by @quelsentiment - okay so I’m not going to list all of this author’s zouis fics even though I want to, but they are honest to goodness one of my very favorite rare pair fic authors ever and they also give incredible aspec representation, so just. Check them out. But this fic was just. It means so much to me I love it very much a lot. The ace rep is FAB but also the way that Louis is just trying so hard to figure out what he’s feeling and what it means and not scare ZAYN off in the meantime and it’s just so very relatable to me! The way it’s all crafted is wonderful, so I defo rec this one along with the previous fic in this list lol

my power was constricted in my heart (M, 137K) A royalty AU where Prince Mark Bryant and his manservant Oliver Ritz get kidnapped, then kidnapped again, then kidnapped a third time, and find home somewhere along the way. Every single TBS character, large and small, makes an appearance at some point. This is one of those fics that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go until it’s 4 AM, your phone’s battery is at 1%, and you’ve been emotionally destroyed at least three times. (Full disclosure, this is a WIP, but I have it on good authority that it hasn’t been abandoned.)

Vienna Waits For You (G, 14K) Brightgreen coffee shop AU, cute as fuck and the found family that Joan and Owen deserve

Take Anything You Need (M, 4K) Mark/Damien, dealing with an alpha rut during the road trip. I think this might be the only (at the time of this writing) A/B/O TBS fic? And it works. It’s sweet, it’s hot, it’s a version of Damien I wish was canon.

I Like My Body When It’s With Your Body (E, 28K) Mark/Damien nonsexual D/s — also sweet, also hot, also a version of Damien that I wish was canon, one that isn’t consumed by fear of not being in control every second of every day

A Secret I Never Wanted To Tell (G, 10K) Vanessa Turner sells Mark out to the AM. Joan finds out. Fireworks ensue

I’m somebody desperate, I don’t know what to do (T, 3K) Damien’s bi awakening, which of course becomes delicious angst because Damien is an angsty, touch-starved motherfucker

i want to feel all the ache I can feel (T, 5K) Canon divergence where Adam gets the Pokemon evolution, and an exploration of trauma as it affects atypical ability and expression

A Regular Decorated Emergency (G, 1K) The story of Caleb’s quidditch quadball injury, and all the brotherly Caleb-Mark interaction that we were robbed of in College Tapes

to say that I’m a rainbow and tell me that I’m bright (G, 9K) Sam, Mags, Mark, and Oliver going to Pride. It’s been over a year and the line “These are my flags. That’s me.” makes me cry to this day

You got troubles, I got ‘em too (G, 1K) Sam and Joan taking a moment to breathe and grieve at the AM

I got it all (but I don’t ever wanna grow up) (T, 5K) You know how College Tapes never actually addressed Caleb’s quarter-life crisis? Here’s a fix-it fic for that, along with more Caleb-Mark brotherly friendship

Atypical Revolutions (because if you leave TBS fans alone for five minutes, we come up with ways to make atypicals go public and get justice)

Your Enemy Whispers So You Have To Scream (T, 240K) Mark and other Tier 5 survivors go public after someone leaks evidence of the AM and Tier 5 to the general public. Oliver spends the next year failing spectacularly to avoid being drawn into the growing tension between atypicals, the government, and non-atypicals. This is the last bit of shameless self-promotion.

TPWKY Episode 222: DNA Meth(ylation) And Atypicality (G, 7K) A crossover between This Podcast Will Kill You and TBS, this assumes that atypicals have been forced to go public, and goes deep on the social and scientific ramifications. Mark ends up the public face of atypicality. This fic was a lot of the inspiration for Your Enemy Whispers.

Bryant vs. United States, Decision, Communication No. 947/2027 (M, 2K) Exactly what it sounds like — Mark goes public and sues the AM. The formatting for Your Enemy Whispers owes a lot to Bryant vs. United States (as does a certain UN resolution). I really, really hope it gets finished, because you know how you read a fic, or even just hear it described, and it keeps you up until two in the morning crying because it’s just that good and tragic? That was me when the authors dropped their plan for this fic’s endgame.

gonna do my very best and it ain’t no lie (M, 37K) Oliver accidentally-on-purpose lets his family think that he’s dating Mark, on the same weekend that files go missing from the AM. Come for the fake dating, stay for the atypical revolution. (Fair warning, it is a WIP, but it’s not abandoned)

Cape Cod Exes to Lovers - When Harry finds himself back on Cape Cod in his mother’s summer cottage nursing a broken heart, the last person he expects to see is his first love Louis - who still happens to be his neighbor. Summer on the Cape ensues, maybe even a romance.

Back Home - Harry finds himself living back home with his mother helping nurse her back to health after a bad fall. The last thing he expects is his mothers Physical Therapist to be his high school teenage dream.

Gifts and Curses - Beauty and the Beast ABO where Harry’s an Alpha with a secret and Louis is an Omega that does not want to marry Gaston.

Frozen Heart - A Frozen AU where Prince Harry has to find his newly coronated sister in the North Mountains before he’s forced to take over the Kingdom. Thankfully he finds a couple of local guides and an interesting stranger to help him on his journey. Starring Harry as Ana, Louis as Kristoff, Liam as Sven and Niall as Olaf.

Famous/Non-Famous AU - Louis is an ex-childhood star who’s best known for sharing the silver screen with now Academy Award Winner Harry. When Louis is invited to participate in an Anniversary Magazine spread and small promo signing the last person he expects to show up is Harry. Turns out some friendships are hard to forget.

10 Year Reunion AU - Harry and Louis manage to be two ships passing in the night all through high school. None of the same classes, friends or extracurriculars. Until the night of the senior banquet when they exchange yearbook messages - wish we could have gotten to know each other, maybe we will see each other around.10 years later and in the height of social media they’re getting ready for a high school reunion where the only people they care about seeing is each other.

If One for you, then One for us by KusakabeNAyakoWWX is brought back from the dead after his death as the YL Patriarch (very unwillingly so), and his self-sacrificial nature drives him into some... problems. absolute whumpfest, which is perfect for someone like me. lots of diff POVs for angst-fuel.

Duet by lo_n_beholdmodern AU where LWJ and WWX are BFFs!! they’re pretty much co-dependant on one another. then, WWX is asked out on a date by another man. still a long way to go with their fic but looks promising!

Swipe Right by BowandtieWWX matches with LWJ on Chinese Tinder. the rest, as they say, is history. hilarious fic. 

A Little Happiness by Suspicious_PopsicleLWJ is age-regressed by a curse, WWX looks after him and gives him part of the childhood he never had. a very cute, LWJ-focused fic.
